David and Elena stood away from the bio-bed as Iorte approached and began questioning their prisoner. He didn't seem to be getting anywhere, but given they had little option open to them Clancy's line of questioning was as useful as either of the other two could have come up with, then Johnson said something that got David's attention:
"You know, Iorte, if the Reman mission went as planned, Tellar would've been our next target. You remember that, don't you ... Or do you wipe from your memory your failures, along with the maimed and crippled you leave in your wake, hmm ?"
He could see that Clancy was suddenly nervous but couldn't understand why.
"What's on Tellar Prime ?" Elena asked, but was ignored as the two before them held some almost mystical sparring session no-one else was privy to.
"..... Rurk would be a damn fool if he didn't change the flight plan. I suspect he's gone to ..." he began but changed his mind, "I don't know !" they were pushed out of the way as Doctor Adama tried to treat her patient, David looked at Iorte, who for some reason known only to himself kept his eyes locked on the bio-bed and the dying man on it.
"OUT ... NOW !" Adama ordered as she and the Nurse worked feverishly. David took a step forward:
"Keep him alive doctor, we have more questi ....." the blow slammed him against the bulkhead semi-conscious, he could hear a cacophony of sounds through his dulled senses and tried to stand but his legs refused to obey his demands and he again slumped to the deck, vision clouding into almost complete blackness.
The phaser beam hit him in the center of his back. Anyone else and it would have killed them instantly, but his shielding, albeit sporadic, had taken the brunt of the shot. He spun, more surprised than anything else that anyone was still capable of attacking him, but he saw the young woman, the one he had hit on rushing forward, he had thought her dead, or at least too injured to be a worry, alas he had been wrong ... The second beam hit him in the chest and he staggered back, feeling the heat as the shield began to fail, allowing some of the almost pure energy of the phasers' beam to penetrate. Elena glanced from the Aur to the weapon and back, satisfied it was set to maximum output, then aimed at the Aur's face as it closed on her. It was as if it suddenly realised his predicament and he spun, leaning forward to life the dying Johnson from the bio-bed ... She depressed the micro-activator tab and the beam lanced forth ......
The Aur, and Carpoln, vanished ... She dropped the phaser and crawled over to Tan and Clancy as the doors opened and several people, heavily armed, entered, they took charge, lifting the injured onto bio-beds where available, and covering the one fatality with a sheet. She felt a hypo-spray being pushed against her neck, the ice-cold fluid passing easily into her bloodstream and within moments she was able to stand. Tan and Clancy too were treated, along with the Medical Officer Doctor Adama.
"Where ?" David said, the effects of the hypo still working into his system.
"Gone ... Dead, both of them. It was the Aur." de Luca said.
"But ..." he said, confusion running riot in his mind. But all Elena could do was remain silent, she no more had answers than anyone else present did. The comm chirped to life:
=^= Bridge to Sick-bay .. .. =^=
=^= What ? =^= Komin said, her sudden headache reducing her patience by multiples of ten every second.

=^= Captain .. Whatever it was left the ship from your location but we cannot track it =^= Komin looked at the Intelligence Officers, almost wishing she could call a stop to this madness before they were all killed, but she knew that the creature that had attacked them must be subdued somehow, but more important, those responsible needed to be brought to justice. Was that for them to pursue, or would it be wiser for a more substantial force to be assigned the task ? ... They needed to make a decision and quickly, return home, or push on to Tellar Prime ..........

Aur 003 had been waiting patiently, he knew the Intelligence Officers would help him to his prey at some point. Having left the El Alamein he had thought better of his actions and had concealed himself in the forward landing strut bay. it was a tight fit and he was injured, but he had managed to pierce through the hull without detection to allow the bare minimal of life-giving oxygen to enter the cavity. Once in orbit it had remained hidden, tapping into the El Alamein's systems un-noticed he knew their location ... His cloak, integrated into the thick fabric of his armoured tunic, had been damaged, it was good for only one last effort before it would expire and become useless to him, so he knew that he had to pick his moment very very carefully. He had monitored the ship-wide conversations closely and was pleased to hear that Carpoln Johnson, once his ally, had possibly been fatally injured, he didn't know how, nor did he care, but he knew he must have the man to further his quest.
He would be patient, follow the Starfleet Officers, learn what he can and then, only then, would he act !
~~~~~~~~~~
Now, they were together ... he had climbed from his place of concealment, cloak activated, and had followed their progress until now ...
Deactivating the cloak, the Aur stood two meters from the doors and closed it's eyes, not in some meditative manner, but in readiness for what was about to come. Then he stepped forward, the doors sliding silently open. For several seconds he couldn't work out what was happening, the turmoil, rushing, shouting, Johnson, dying ?
He slammed into the group watching, satisfaction as them were thrust against bulkheads as he turned his full attention to the bio-bed and it's occupant. The Woman, a Doctor, turned and he flung her aside like a rag doll, three fingers severed the nurses' carotid artery and she dropped to the deck bleeding to death, he turned to the bed, the man now prone and almost lifeless. He stepped forward, a distorted sense of satisfaction passing over him as he reached forward placing a hand on Johnson's chest. did he feel pity for the man, no, would he continue his pursuit of Rurk, yes, but he would kill every last living soul aboard this vessel first, then, he would search out Rurk !
