"No, you know that I'm never to busy to talk to you," Pai said as he walked towards her clearly not knowing what to do. "I've missed you, Katie."
Katie watched Paikea walk toward her and when he got close enough she could see the hurt that his eyes were carrying. She could tell right away that it wasn’t a pain that she had caused but something different, something deeper. While she was looking into his eyes she nearly didn’t recognize the man standing before her. The man she knew was fun, outgoing and had a nearly overconfident bravado about him. The man standing in front of her looked broken down to his core.
If this was a year ago Katie would have rushed to Paikea and hugged and did everything she could to make him feel better. The problem was that this wasn’t a year ago and she wasn’t the same young naïve girl that she was. She had to do a lot of growing up in the last year. She too had done things that she felt ashamed of and wondered if she told anybody would they view her in a different light.
“I’ve missed you too.” Katie finally said.
She still didn’t know if she was doing the right thing by coming here first. She was told specifically to see Captain Drago before doing anything else but here she was already disobeying her orders because of a boy. Maybe she hadn’t changed as much as she thought she had.
“I really shouldn’t be here.” Katie said.
“No really it’s OK.” Paikea replied.
“It’s not that. I’m just supposed to report to Captain Drago.” Katie said. She still was keeping her distance because she didn’t want Paikea to get the wrong idea.

The awkwardness between them was obvious. Paikea wanted nothing more than have her in his arms again, but it wouldn't be right. It also dawned on him that neither of them were the same people they were a year ago. Paikea had lost a lot of himself during the past year and Katie was no longer the naive operations officer who laughed and joked about everyday life. Pai had done things that frighten him and without a release of these emotions it had begun to eat at him.
“I really shouldn’t be here.” Katie said.
“No really it’s OK.” Paikea replied.
“It’s not that. I’m just supposed to report to Captain Drago.” Katie said. She still was keeping her distance because she didn’t want Paikea to get the wrong idea.
"Drago is probably worse off than me," Pai snickered," but I suppose you're right. Drago is most likely on Assailant talking to Admiral Lin about our new ship. If I remember correctly we're due for senior staff meeting in an hour."
Pai wanted to ask if he could accompany her, but he didn't know if it was a wise thing to do. Her feelings for him might have changed in the past year. He knew they would have time to talk about their relationship later, but deep down he knew that he still loved her.
"Computer save all work and store," Pai said as he shut down his terminal," Well I suppose that I'll see you at the staff meeting?"

Not quite sure what to expect pride hung out in the back of the room with commander Tras. This was a little strange for him, normaly he would have taken a seat and waited. Still he just didn't know what to expect.
His thoughts still went back to what Commander Tras had said. Give him some time it might not be as bad as you think. Then his thoughts went to what else he had said about trying to convince his world to join the federation. He was torn on that issue he was a star fleet officer but still he just didn't know if the federation was ready for it. Would they take what they learn and gain and use if for good. Or would somebody see the potential for converting it for something else.
It scared him what would they do if the realized it was possible to slow the ageing proscess. To be able to heal your self to a point and increase your strenght for short periods to beable to block pain and emotion. Then there was the ability to feel space and time not to mention all the other stuff. Commander Tras had given him alot to think about and sooner or later he would have to cast his vote.
Clearing his mind he waited quitely with commander Tras to see what the meeting was about. Not to mention to find out if he was still going to be part of the crew he just didn't know.

"Computer save all work and store," Pai said as he shut down his terminal," Well I suppose that I'll see you at the staff meeting?"
"Staff meeting?" Katie asked.
Katie hadn't heard about a staff meeting. She just knew that she needed to report in with Captain Drago as soon as possible.
"There is a scheduled staff meeting in just a little while." Paikea replied.
"Oh." Katie said.
Katie watched as Paikea finished up saving his work and putting his things away. The more she watched him work the more she wanted to try and spend as much time with him as possible.
"I'm not too familiar with the base anymore, do you want to walk with me to the meeting?" Katie asked.

"I'm not too familiar with the base anymore, do you want to walk with me to the meeting?" Katie asked.
"Yeah!" Paikea said almost to excitedly which made him burn red for a few seconds. He couldn't remember the last time he had done that, but knew that Katie was the only person that could do that to him. "I mean yes of course."
Hoping that Katie didn't notice his little outburst of excitement, Pai led them off the South Carolina which had become the home of the Scavenger crew for the last few weeks. Paikea was hoping that he would be able to make some small talk with Katie, but was unable to actually think of anything to start a conversation.
"So........when did you arrive?" Paikea asked.

Luke sat drinking a cup of recently replicated coffee and nodded his notice of those entering the Briefing Room on Assailant. As all but Illito, who had excused herself, and Hunter who Luke had not heard from since their return to Assailant, something that he would be investigating, had arrived Luke cleared his throat and began to make an effort to start. Before he did so he reviewed the situation in the room. Paikea and Ms. Anderson had arrived together, something that was not an issue in itself but Luke knew he would have to address their previous and current relationship with them at some point. Any sort of intimate relationship amongst a ships staff, let alone those in senior positions, was challenging and often, but not always, had some negative consequences. He would allow Ms. Anderson to get resettled and see where things went... Another point of interest was the isolation that Pride and Tras had put upon themselves. Luke saw no reason why Tras should not be present seeing as he would be assigned, temporarily for now, to the senior staff, so he motioned for the Officer to take a seat and also for Pride to do the same. He may not be able to accept the Commander's choice of actions back on the Carolina but he was a member of his crew all the same. Adam sat next to Luke on his right and seemed to be deep in thought, it was clear that the stress was getting to everyone.
"First off," He began. "I feel I must thank you all again for your above duty work in the past few weeks. It is never easy to lose colleagues, nor is it any easier to lose a place that you once called home, however, I expect the same of you as I always have. You know what these expectations are, and I expect to see no exceptions." He looked at no one in particular at this point but each had their own understanding of the last sentence. All knew that one way or another they would face trials in the coming days, weeks and perhaps even months. "The second item of business." He said moving on. "Is the appointment of new crew. Commander Dunsmore and Lieutenant Tarapik were reassigned at the end of our last mission, Lieutenant Anderson, who many of us know, will resume her old position of Cheif of Operations. As it stands we have yet to receive a replacement CTSO, so I wish for Commander Tras to operate in that role until further notice. I have also received news that my request of Engineer has been approved and Commander Jonathan Kirk, previously of the Tiger Shark, will be transferring here in the next few days. I believe his knowledge of ship systems to be of an exceptionally high standard and so an asset to our crew. This is of course an interesting situation for us all. We are currently shipless and so have been assigned a mission to work alongside the soon to be docked Klingon vessel, IKS I'Vorch. She is commanded by a General Betrek, who apparantly is quite the interesting Captain. Rumour has it that she once ripped out a mans eye for removing her food before finishing with it... I'm not sure how much of that rumour is truth but I would say it best to try and avoid agitation of a Klingon allies, especially at this sensitive time. Which leads to my next point. Although we are assigned to work alongside the I'Vorch and her crew to run tests and to access information the Empire is making available to us on the Tholians, we are also to do a little snooping around. Starfleet is growing increasingly concerned over the Colonial War with the Klingons and Tholians and we need all the information we can muster. With this in mind I will be assigning you all with specific areas to research whilst working with the General and her crew."
Luke paused again, looked down at the padd once more, took a breath and continued. It was best to get it all out, questions could be asked later.
"Now to things a little more personal. Commander Parsons will be liasing with Admiral Lin over the organisation of a memorial service for the Scavenger and those lost, if you have any thing that you would like to have said or to say at this service then please let the Commander know. Attached to this is also the rather sensitive issue concerning what happened in the Mirror Universe. I have yet to be informed as to what Command is planning to do about the now known threat on 'the other side' but I believe I can be assured that you will keep your knowledge on what we encountered to yourself. Intelligence is treating this as a high priority, I cannot even guess what they would do if they found out any information was leaked from any of you. Finally, I would like to inform you that Commander Parsons and I will be meeting with you all individually over the next few days. Following those conversations those of you who were present in the Mirror Universe during our previous mission will be given a period of one week, non optional counselling, after this one of the Assailant's Counsellors will decide if any more sessions are required. Whatever the Counsellor says, goes. No questions asked, no problems made."
Luke again took a moment to take a breath and evaluate how the staff were feeling at this point.
"That is all I have to say for now, if Commander Parsons has nothing to add I would like to offer you all the chance to ask any questions you may have."

Taking a seat after being motioned by Captain Drago and listening to there future plans. He was looking forward to working with the klingons. They were at least to true to there nature you knew what to expect from the. Although seeing somebody getting there eye rippide out wasn't something he was hoping to see.
The other issue of private meetings with the senior staff, was not something he was looking forward too. He'd come to some sort of understanding with himself and that was he hadn't done anything wrong. Yes he was assinged to the Scavenger and yes Drago was his captain but there were to many unknowns and his responsablity to the Carolina and her crew had to come first until they were sure of the sitituation.
Looking around nobody seemed to be saying much they were still thinking of friends lost and there home gone. He wasn't happy about either but there was nothing to be done. Looking around wondering what was his fate well he find out soon enought when he was to meet with the captain and Commander Parsons.
Still there were somethings to get done a ship would be leaving for his home world soon. He still had to find another ship to replace the one he had stored on scavenger. He had thought about taking one of the scout ships from his home world. It was fast sleek and had many useful traits.
Looking around some more wondering what people were thinking. Thanking god he couldn't read minds even more so not being able to read the captains mind.
Thinking now was as good a time as any he tapped his combadge. " energize" with in a few secounds everybody around the room had a small crystal ship. He had gone through alot of trouble making them but it was exact copie of the scavenger in side was a peice of the orginal Scavenger. He had take fragements and built the crystal ship around it.
" Home may be gone and we will have new home but you will always have a small peice of the home that we have lost"

Walking off the Carolina Katie noticed they both had been walking in silence. She really didn’t have much to say but she could feel that Paikea wanted to talk about something.
"So........when did you arrive?" Paikea asked.
“Not too long ago.” Katie replied with a small smile.
She could tell Paikea was a little nervous talking with her and she felt pretty much the same way. Things were soo much different now and they both appeared to have nothing in common anymore.
Katie noticed that Paikea didn’t seem to like the answer she had just given him and pushed him playfully as she used to in the past.
“C’mon where is that sense of humor that I used to love?” Katie asked.
Katie watched Paikea’s reaction and she could see that hurt in his eyes again. He had lost a the little bit of sparkle in his eyes that came with seeing her again and she wanted to know why.
“Pai what happened on your last mission?” Katie asked.

"Attention all senior person staff or the USS Scavenger, there will be a meeting in conference room c in on hour, I repeat, there will be a meeting or all Scavenger senior person staff in conference room c in one hour, that are all."
William were scared awake of the voice which came by the com badge.
He has the last day's only read the file's of the Marines and have some to eat in the Tanta Marie Bakery. He those days the traffic-jams of the Marines Detachment have read all. Or everything, however, well have gone with protecting the Captain Drago. There he was not yet from what and for which it has not this way succeeded if he has to hope. He now have had found a place on the ship. The Marines and he to learn had known the ship exactly. Have been now aroused curiosity what brings the meeting for news. He walk to the meeting room C and walk in the room. and take place on a chair.

Adam listened intently during the briefing. He had always been a bit leery of the Klingons, but they had been an ally for some time and the former tactical officer would put on his best diplomatic face for this joint mission.
The Commander pondered the memorial service as the Captain spoke of it and part of him was actually looking forward to it. He was also looking forward to input from the rest of the senior staff.
As the Captain wrapped up the briefing and described the mandatory counseling he finished, "That is all I have to say for now, if Commander Parsons has nothing to add I would like to offer you all the chance to ask any questions you may have."
Parsons spoke up, "I want to encourage you all to make the most of your counseling, whether you think you need it or not, the entire crew has been through a traumatic experience and we could all benefit from working through the recent tragedy."
After an awkward silence, Pride presented the senior staff with crystal replicas of the Scavenger. Parsons wasn't sure how to react, but responded to the lieutenant commander's words and gesture, "Thank you Commander, this is a most thoughtful gesture."

Each member of the crew took the thoughtful, if a little unexpected gift, and thanked the Commander. Each culture had their own custom and this was a particularly pleasant one, Luke had not seen the like of the stone that the model was made from before, it shone a bright light when touched which only proved to remind him of seeing the Scavenger light up before her final end... However, he would keep the small gift in his quarters, a reminder of what had been lost. With the destruction of the Scavenger he had also lost the replica of the Tiger Shark, which KezTrek had given him on his initial departure all those years back. He took this to be a sign of closure, he had let that part of his life be sealed off, and now it was time for the healing the concerned the Scavenger to begin. Part of an old Earth Scripture floated through his head at that time... There is a time for everything... It, for Captain Drago, was extremely relevant.
As the meeting drew to a close, Luke informed the crew that he would be preparing their assignments later that day and that they would be told of the details during their one-to-ones with himself and Commander Parsons. The crew filed out of the Briefing Room and each went to enjoy the remaining free time they had, Luke couldn't blame them. Before Tras could leave, Luke tapped him on the shoulder and motioned for him to take his seat again. As the room became empty Luke sat down as well and looked across at the Commander.
"So." He said. "Here we are, in quite an interesting situation. How do you feel about the role I have assigned you?" He asked.

Daya looked around the Assailant, having only been there once or twice in his career he was glad to have the opportunity to look upon the design and structure of another station. He had requested a transfer to the USS Scavenger, unaware of the fact that the once great ship was now lost. However his request had been accepted and he was sent to the Assailant to find his new ship mates, as well as have the opportunity to be the first to touch the new station he was going to be working with.
Daya had received the PADDs with the crew's bios, but hadn't looked at them yet. He knew a few of his "cadets" were stationed there, but wasn't sure which ones. He hadn't looked at the PADDs because he felt that it was better to get to know the crew, in his own way, instead of reading about them and trying to make judgments.
Daya walked around the star base for awhile, having arrived rather early he wanted to explore alittle at first, but soon got bored with the idea, and headed toward his temporary quarters. Dropping off his bags, he left almost as soon as he had arrived, and went to look for the captain. 'a captain huh? its been awhile since i actually served with a captain, admirals and commodores I'm used to, so a captain should be no problem.' he thought to himself.
"computer, locate Captain Drago" he said to the star base's computer, waiting for a second before getting a response. "Captain Drago is in conference room 3" Daya looked up the location of the conference room, and then walked off to meet his new captain.
While walking around, he thought he saw a few people he knew, but he wasn't sure, it had been awhile since he last saw them. When he arrived, Daya pressed the door chime, and entered when prompted. "Sir, Commander Daya reporting for duty"

Joseph Tras sat, after being startled by the unexpected tap on his shoulder. "I don't know what to think captain," he answered truthfully, gazing directly at his CO. "I admit I rather liked being in command of a ship, but my time away from starfleet made me realise there are more important things in life than running a tight schedule." He held up his hand, stalling an answer from the captain.
"Then I was told to take the Carolina and go after you, even when Starfleet ruled I would never command a ship again. You are being too harsh on Commander Pride sir, he only did what he felt was right." Again he silenced the CO. "I asked him to come along, if anyone, give me the cold shoulder. He's a good officer and deserves better treatment than that."
That said, his expression softened and the fire vanished from his eyes. "I am quite happy you are offering me the position of chief of security, and I'll gladly accept it but what if-"
He was cut off by Commander Daya, who barged in unannounced and reported for duty. Tras cast Drago a sheepish grin. "Like I was saying, what if a CTSO reports in?" He gazed up at the newcomer. "I am Commander Joseph Tras, former commanding officer of the USS Scavenger, acting commanding officer of the USS South Carolina, and currently ah...seeking employment on Captain Drago's new ship, whatever class she may be." He held out his hand, fixing his gaze first on Daya, then casting Drago a daring and knowing glance. He made certain he could see the newcomer speak at all times.
"Don't tell him," he signed to Drago, smiling slyly.

Kirk read what he could about the USS Scavengers last mission while the Tiger Shark docked with Starbase Assailant. It seemed the complete details to the ships last mission and ultimate destruction was labeled classified. It became apparent to Kirk that whenever Luke Drago popped up, trouble was following not to far behind him. These thoughts and his own personal experiences with the man made Kirk wonder how he was going to like serving under a man who seemed driven only to keep his own future from happening.
Kirk had to deal with fate before and he learned from experience that it was futile to try and prevent certain things from happening. Fate always had a way of making sure each person’s destiny was completed no matter how hard they tried to run and hide from it. It was fate that brought Kirk face to the Borg and it was fate once again that saw his ultimate salvation from the very same soulless race.
After a handful of hard good-byes Kirk walked off the Tiger Shark for what he saw as the last time in the foreseeable future. The Tiger Shark had been his home since he graduation from the Academy and it pained him to leave his good friend, grad-mate, and surrogate brother behind; but as he saw it orders where orders.
Speaking with a few security officers aboard Assailant, Kirk found out the crew of the Scavenger was being billeted on board the USS South Carolina for the time being. He also learned of a staff meeting for which he was already late to. He figured that Drago would understand but in all honesty Kirk did not want to give the man any more ammunition than he already had.
“Computer,” Kirk said as he walked up to a nearby wall console, “Directions to Conference Room Three.”
The computer chimed in response to Kirk’s request and soon he was given a detailed route in which to take. He looked over the map several before deciding to simply download the directions into his ocular implant and go from there. Looking around to make sure the coast was clear, Kirk held up his right hand to the console and injected his assimilation tendrils into the console. After a few moments he had the directions firmly downloaded and he was ready to go. As he walked away he hoped that nobody had seen his actions. Even though the Federation was a peaceful empire he still had his fare share of frightened stares and behind the back whispers about former Borg drones being allowed to serve in Starfleet.
The walk was not long for Kirk and as got closer to Conference Room Three he saw a group of people walking in the opposite direction. As the group passed Kirk he wondered if they were the crew of the Scavenger he had read about in the brief after action report he was given.
The door to the conference room was plainly listed as Room Three and with a large sigh Kirk pushed the door chime and waited for a response to enter. The last thing Kirk wanted to do was start his new posting off on the wrong foot by barging into a possible private conversation.

"Pleasure to meet you sir" he said, just before the door chimed behind him. Daya looked back at the door waiting for a second to see if they would allow the person on the other side to enter.

Luke rubbed his eyes as his new CTSO reported in. He couldn't help but smile at the assigning of all this new crew when they didn't even have a ship. Typical. It did encourage him however, with the increase in crew it did mean that there was something coming up for them. What that something was, Luke wasn't so sure.
"Welcome to the crew Commander." He looked at Tras and nodded in his general direction, confirming that he had understood what had been signed to him. "May I take a look at your orders?" He asked in regards to the PADD that Commander Daya held.
"So you are to be our Cheif of Security and Tactical?" Luke asked, not really needing an answer. "I see you were most recently assigned to the Academy Fleet. What prompted your transfer or was it a case of going where you were told?"
<TAG Daya>
Luke nodded. "Very good. Well, everything seems to be in order here. I am currently in conference with Commander Tras here but I will see you this afternoon to discuss our current situation. In the mean time I would like you to introduce yourself to Commander Parsons, our Executive Officer. He will make sure that temporary quarters have been assigned for yourself while we are positioned on Assailant. That will be all Commander." Luke finished and placed the transfer orders on the table.
<TAG Daya>
Just us Luke was about to continue with his conversation with Tras the door chimed once more. Again he rubbed his eyes and brushed the hair from his face. This time, the Officer that entered, Luke was very much expecting.
He stood to his feet and smiled at the man he stood before him, a genuine, warm smile. He had served with this young man a fair amount of time ago and in his time had become quite good friends with him. Commander Jonathan Kirk was a man of integrity and skill and that was exactly why he had personally requested for the transfer from the Tiger Shark to the Scavenger as Second Officer and Cheif Engineer. This request had been sent through weeks ago, but as it was Drago who was asking it was treated with scepticism and many questions were asked. Luke of course had just given the honest truth, he wanted Kirk because of his talent, not because of some sort of hidden future agenda. Intelligence, however, put up a fight, not believing that could be the only reason... And maybe it wasn't, but they didn't need to know that...
"Commander." Luke said warmly, shaking the man's hand. "It is extremely good to see you. Please," He said, looking to the seat next to Tras. "Sit down, your timing could not have been better."
Both Tras and Kirk looked confused at this so Luke pressed on.
"Commander Tras I would like to introduce you to Commander Kirk. I've just decided that you two are going to be working together in the coming days." Luke said, his eyes twinkling. Sometimes things just had a way of working out well. "Please, familiarise yourself with the information on this PADD. It contains key points in the Colonial War and Admiral Lin's involvement, it also includes your assignment information. It is encrypted to Commander Kirk's security code, he will be in direct charge of the assignment. We will meet again in one hour to discuss the full details."

Once again Luke found himself alone in his quarters, however, this time he was not hard at work, but instead he sat in silence, not moving, his concentration focussed on one point just a little above his eye level. Meeting Jonathan Kirk again didn't quite go as he had hoped, but in all fairness could he blame the Commander. The last time they had met, Luke was 100% focussed on his mission, he was willing to stop at nothing. Not even the prospect of altering the timeline.
He glanced over and frowned at the time. The Klingon vessel they were assigned to work with was due to dock at any minute, not something he was particularly looking forward to, especially given his current mood.
As if the computer had read his thoughts the automated voice spoke to him, informing him that his presence was required in Conference Room 14 to join the joint briefing with the Klingon CO and a few of the Klingon/Federation Ambassadors. He wasn't sure what all the formality was about but attempted to tidy his appearance all the same, even bothering to tie his hair back for once...
Leaving his quarters Luke tried to supress the feeling of dread that was filling his stomach, he had never really had the time for the Klingons and now he was to be working oh so very close to them, as well as lying to them...

Apparently, with no ship to bind them together, it had been deemed even more important than ever that the crew stay close together. Illito suspected that was, in no small part, some of the motivation for having a group meeting now. And Illito agreed with that decision, though she'd asked Captain Drago for permission not to attend, which he'd granted. Although she would still be required to visit a counselor for the next week. Which she wasn't entirely sure she'd have time for. She sighed, she supposed she'd have to make the time.
But some things were more important than the work she'd been doing, which consisted mostly of making herself a nuisance in the Assailant sickbay. Not that anyone from Assailant had complained, she thought they understood that she had things to get done, and had to do them somewhere. That somewhere had ended up more in Assailant than the South Carolina, but she didn't have strong ties to either. She missed the Scavenger.
She'd helped Avel settle most of patients who had left the Scavenger with him or other medical personnel. Fortunately Assailant seemed to have large enough facilities to handle a small epidemic, which the Scavenger crew came nowhere near.
That work was almost completed when Pride called for her to meet with him, if she was free, for dinner. “Yup. I'm free. Or will be, in a few more minutes. So we can meet in, say, 15 minutes? Where would you suggest?”

His heart skipped a beat when Illito said yes and asked where. Think for a moment he came up with a idea. "Holodeck 6 I wouldn't mind warming up a bit I'll bring a picnic I do beleave the term is" <Tag Illito>
He arrived at the holodeck early to get set up, When he entered the program was running. It was his home the rooms looked right but there was no smell of insense in the air oh well he thought. He went out to the terace that overlooked the desert. It was just as he remembered the heat was right. He place some soup and vegetables on the table along with some fruit and his home world version of wine made from fruit. He been saving it for a special occasion and could think of anything better then now.
He was hoping Illito wouldn't mind not haveing meat to eat he never liked the taste and killing animals didn't sit well with him. He valued all life even thought there were times he had to take it but he never did it unless there was no other way. So killing animals just didn't make sense for him. He changed his clothes for the climate wearing just some cotton his skin was use to the suns so he never got burned.
When he heard the holodeck doors open and saw Illito walk in. She took his breath away then again she did that when ever he saw her.
" Please come in its good to see you again" <Tag Illito>

"So you are to be our Cheif of Security and Tactical?" Luke asked, not really needing an answer. "I see you were most recently assigned to the Academy Fleet. What prompted your transfer or was it a case of going where you were told?"
"well, I just kinda wanted to stretch my legs alittle. I've been at the academy since i was a Lt." Daya looked at both the officers, it seemed to him he was being left out of something, but seeing as he was the new guy he understood. That will be all Commander." Luke finished and placed the transfer orders on the table.[/color]
With a nod Daya turned and left, stopping for a brief moment when he looked out the door and saw an old friend. With a soft slap on the shoulder to say hello, Daya left Kirk to speak with the other two officers.
As pride was walking down the hall he saw a face he hadn't seen in a while not since the Hanson so long ago it seemed. " Commander Daya right I thought it was you what are you doing here?"
"Lt. Commander Pride, its good to see you again, isee your doing well outside of the academy, i look forward to working with you again" Daya said as he stopped to speak with the officer before heading off again, to find commander parsons.

Tras shifted his gaze from Drago to Kirk, but only briefly. "Are you transferring me to engineering?" he asked bluntly, "just a minute ago I was assigned to tactical. I have absolutely no engineering knowledge."
He transferred his attention back to Kirk. "Unless the commander is willing to teach me on the job? I know nothing beyond just the basic engineering skills that are required learning at the academy, and that has been rather several years ago."
The commander shrugged, then signaled to Drago: "I don't mind being assigned there, as long as I'm useful. A little warning would've been appreciated." He wasn't sure if Kirk knew sign language, but for someone not versed in it, nor knowing Trask was fairly deaf, any of his hand-motions made little sense to an onlooker.
"Commander, I would be gratified if you would show the way to engineering, then we can go over what you would like me to do, and teach me how to do it."

Commander Parsons stood in front of the replicator staring down at the PADD in his hand. "Water, cool," a glass appeared and Adam picked it up with his free hand somewhat absent-mindedly.
The door chimed and the former Scavenger XO answered "Come in" without looking up.
"Commander Daya reporting, Sir."
Parsons looked up, "ah yes, Commander," a hand extended until Adam realized it was holding the glass of water, which he quickly set down on a small table. Extending his hand again, "good to meet you, your reputation precedes you." Adam shook Daya's hand enthusiastically and invited him to sit. "Can I get you anything from the replicator?"
<TAG DAYA>
"I just received word a few minutes ago that you had arrived on the station. I took the liberty of assigning you temporary quarters here on the Assailant," Parsons said handing Daya the PADD.
"We are in a sort of limbo with the loss of the Scavenger. Have you reported in to Captain Drago?"
<TAG DAYA>
"Well I will let you get settled. Why don't you meet me back here in a few hours and I will fill you in on our current situation. Is there anything else I can do for you in the meantime?"

"Do you remember our Academy mission on the Hepta?" Paikea asked fully knowing that they did. "Do you remember all the people we killed and how it affected me?"
(Katie)
"Well, in this last mission I did things that I swore to never do again," Pai said trying hard to keep his emotions in check," I killed Katie, I killed them in cold blood."
(Katie)
The conversation was cut short when Captain Drago began to speak about the next mission they would be undertaking. Paikea like always stood next to Katie listenly intently. Paikea was pleased to know that they would be be given another ship just yet and that there next mission would be with a Klingon crew. It was a long time since Pai spent time with Klingon's and he realized that living around the warrior minded people might do him some good.
"That is all I have to say for now, if Commander Parsons has nothing to add I would like to offer you all the chance to ask any questions you may have."
Everyone knew that Paikea was the only member of the crew to yet see a counselor. The captain had not forced him to go see one, but he knew that it was time to do so. With Commander Parson done with his speech everyone quieted down until they all recieved a very nice surprise.
" Home may be gone and we will have new home but you will always have a small peice of the home that we have lost"
"Thank you Pride, this means a lot to me," Paikea said as he held his crystal.
"Kaite, do you see the shard inside the crystal?" Paikea said as he noticed the great technique used in the making of the replica," that's what happened to me. My home was destroyed and I'm lost and I need help finding a home again."
