Meanwhile down in Sickbay…
The pain had gone. That was the first thing that William Richards noticed as he slowly regained consciousness, the second thing he noticed was that he was down in sickbay.
“What happened?” he gasped, as he tried to sit up, only to find a strong hand pushing him back down onto the bio-bed.
“Easy there,” Dr. Miakoda Kawani said gently, “things are still a bit sore.”
William was forced to agree with her, a sharp pain had spread across his chest has he had tried to sit up, and now his hands were starting to ache. He was shocked when he looked down to see large bandages on both his hands.
“Doctor,” he said very slowly, “what’s happened?”
“Your were caught in an explosion from your console,” Kawani explained, “you suffered various degrees of burns across your body, your arms and hands being the worse affected.”
“How bad?”
“Not as bad as it looks,” Kawani said kindly, “we got to you pretty quickly, it will take a few more days treatment, but we should have you good as new in no time.”
William was glad to hear that, he remembered the horror stories he had heard in history class about people being left paralysed and disfigured from injuries similar to his.
“The ship?” he asked, his memory was hazy, but from what he remembered the ship had been under attack when his console had sent him flying.
“She’s in one piece,” was all Kawani would say, clearly not wanting her patient to worry about anything work related just now, “lets just concentrate on you for a while Lieutenant.”
Kawani’s attention was diverted by Nurse Mann rushing into sickbay, with an encouraging nod of her head, Kawani left Richards and hurried over to Mann.
“Report,” Richards heard Kawani say quietly to Mann, and as the two medical officers talked, Richards did all he could to overhear.

All of a sudden, KAT finds they are in the middle of a strange neubula she has never seen before. She starts scanning it, but finds it very difficult to find any information on it. She stops compiling her report to try and find all information on this nebula. She isn't happy and starts to clack, and it is loud enough for the whole bridge crew to hear her. She doesn't realize she has gotten that loud, and continues to look for information.

Main Engineering was abuzz with activity, with the ship engaged in combat there was no end of damage to have to repair. Charlie had been busy manning his station the entire time, trying to keep the power flow of the ship at the right operational levels, if power was to fail then the Excalibur would be doomed.
Suddenly a light started blinking on Charlie’s console, the ship had entered a nebula that wasn’t there before, and whatever this nebula was, the ship’s power was starting to drain.
Before Charlie could do anything, a loud and booming voice could be heard throughout the entire deck, and Charlie had the feeling it could be heard all over the ship.
“We are the Yogons, two of your ships have invaded our space, visitors are not permitted, return our missing people, and then we shall destroy you.”
“What the heck?” Charlie gasped, exchanging puzzled looks with his fellow engineers.
Down in the brig…
Curie and James both exchanged startled looks as they too heard the message from the Yogons, Curie looked cautiously at the two prisoners before him.
“Are they your people?” he asked.
“Yes,” one of them answered, “first you invaded our homeworld, then you arrived in your warship to destroy us.”
“We did no such thing,” Curie argued, “you attacked us without provocation.”
“One of your Federation ships invaded our planet!” the two shirked together, “crashing into our forests, we found your kind trying to escape, armed with weapons.”
Understanding suddenly dawned on Curie, they had detected the distress call from the Maru on the planet in the system, as soon as the Excalibur had entered this region of space it encountered no end of problems, and then been attacked. Clearly these ‘Yogons’ had taken these events as a sigh of invasion from the Federation.
“Our ship didn’t mean to crash into your planet,” Curie explained, “it was badly damaged and out of control, it is standard procedure of my people to land on the nearest habitable planet.”
The two Yogon’s looked at each other, and exchanged a conversation the universal translator could not pick up, and then they turned back to Curie.
“If this is true, then why did your enter our system?”
“We were searching for our missing ship,” Curie answered, “this isn’t a ship of war, but of peaceful exploration.” Unexpectedly the lights in the brig dimmed, as the power drain on the ship continued to worsen, soon the Excalibur would have no power left, and if life support failed, the crew would die.
“Please,” Curie begged, “you have to help us make your people understand.”
OCC: OK, this is just my attempt to link all the events that have happened so far together somehow, I have discussed this idea with Magellan and he approves. A few things that we need to do in the storyline are the following:
Make contact with the Yogon ship, and convince them we are not hostile Arrange with the Yogon’s the peaceful return of the Maru and her crew Resolve the Klingon problem (somewhere in the system is a cloaked heavily damaged Klingon bird of prey.) We need to somehow escape this nebula that is draining our power - making peaceful contact with the Yogons may help. Engineering has a lot of ship systems to repair, sickbay by now probably has a fair amount of injured, and those on the bridge could be dealing with the shipwide power failure, trying to escape the nebula and start trying to contact the Yogon ship.
Hope this helps to give everyone some ideas on what to do.

On the bridge, Mira fought to keep control of the USS Ecalibur, but it was becoming increasingly difficult with weapon's fire from the Yogon vessels - as they'd now been identified - pounding on their shields. One of the nacelles had already been severely damaged and impulse engines were only barely functioning.
"Shields down to twenty percent!" she shouted over the noise on the bridge. "Returning fire," she added, and gave a satisfied smile when she saw one of the torpedoes impact on the Yogon vessel, sending it adrift. "Direct hit on their navigation's array," she reported, "and their engines are disabled. They won't be going anywhere anytime soon."
The young human cast a worried glance at the Klingons. "Should we assist them?" she wondered aloud. Sure, the Klingons had attacked them earlier, but Mira had consulted the star charts to see if there was any ground reason that they had. To her surprise, she found that the Yogon home planet was situated in space that the Klingons had claimed belonged to their Empire.
Mira frowned, as she again gazed at the main screen, then targeted the phasers to knock out the weapons systems on the vessel that was taking the Klingons under fire. Apparently, the Yogons weren't too thrilled to be under Klingon rule, or they just didn't know about it yet.
Down in the brig, the Yogon prisoner glared at Curie. "This is all a big sham," he spat, his blue mottled face turning a shade darker blue. "Your ship destroyed our forests, your people roamed the forests armed to the teeth, yet you claim they were helpless? You say you are no warship, yet you are accompanied by one. I am to believe you are peaceful?"
He sneered at Curie. "I find that very hard to believe. Were you peaceful, you would not have returned fire on us, then your people would not have roamed about fully armed. Then you would have asked for our assistance, rather than plainly entering our space."
He crossed his arms over his chest, and fell silent, glaring at Curie expectantly.

Curie was silent for a few moments, letting the Yogon’s statement hang in the air, but the entire time he kept his eyes locked on the being before him.
“We could stand here all day throwing accusations around,” Curie said in a neutral tone, “but we don’t have time, you need to trust us.”
“It is not me who needs to trust you Captain,” the Yogon answered, “it is my people who need to trust you.”
Curie had to admit he had a point, the two Yogons in the cell before him were not the ones threatening the Excalibur, but he knew if he could just get through to these two then he could still save the situation.
“Then help me reach them,” Curie pleaded, “you say you are a peaceful race, help make peace.”
Again there was a long silence, the two Yogons appeared to be communicating telepathically with each other, finally they turned back to face Curie.
“If we help you, will you let us go?”
“Yes,” Curie answered.
“Then we shall consider your request Captain,” and with that the two Yogons turned their backs on the Captain. With a deep sigh Curie could see the conversation was over for now, the lights in the room were still dimming a clear sign that the Excalibur was still losing power, and was still under threat.
Leaving the brig, Curie walked to the nearest communication port, and pressed the ship wide intercom.
“Senior staff report to the ward room,” he ordered.
Minutes later the entire senior staff, minus Richards who was still in sickbay, were sat around the pale coloured table, all listening to Curie explaining the situation.
“This first contact has started off wrong,” Curie said, “but we need to find a way to convince these people we are peaceful, we also need to get this ship out of danger,” he paused and looked around at the gathered crew.
“Suggestions?”
<tag everyone, please feel free to post any ideas on how to save the ship, or how to convince the Yogons of our peaceful intent>

“Report,” Richards heard Kawani say quietly to Mann.
"Well, Engineering was all right," started John. "A couple minor injuries, only one major one, and I grabbed a couple of security guards to help me with him on my way out of Engineering. He's over there. And I scanned the intruders for any harmful bacteria, virus, or whatever, and they're clear."
"Good." Dr. Kwani looked relieved. "Lt. Richards was the only one who was injured badly on the Bridge. There are people all over the place complaining about minor burns or scrapes, and some might not be so minor. We'll be busy here, with people coming in right and left. I'll go have a look at that engineer; you take care of anyone else that comes in, all right?"
"Of course," said John. Already there were four people standing in the doorway of Sickbay.
"Hey, my friend here is hurt! Why do we have doctors if they don't fix us up?"
"Excuse me, doctor, I need you to make sure this isn't serious..."
"Look, Doc, I've been waiting forever, and-"
"I'm coming, I'm coming," said John. "Now if you'll please be quiet, I'll be able to work faster. What's your problem?" he asked the nearest crewman, who was looking dazed.
"He ran into something, I guess. I found him trying to get into the turbolift on deck five."
The man appeared to have hit his head on somehting, but it hadn't sone any major damage. "Go take him to his quarters and give him this," said John, handing the crewman a hypospray with a slight narcotic. "It'll put him out, and he can rest until he recovers. Than bring the hypospray back to me."
"But what's wrong with him?" asked the man with the hypospray.
"He's fine, just banged his head on something. Next!" called out John.
The next injuries consisted of a man with a burn along his leg, and another man who'd fractured his arm, hand, and fingers when a torpedo fell on his arm. Jonathan gave him to Dr. Kwani after administering a painkiller, and then greeted Ellington, who had come for his check-up. Ellington turned out fine, and went back to Main Engineering, ready to give Charlie Whistle news of Lt. Richards's recovery.
=^=Senior staff report to the ward room.=^=
Dr. Kwani sighed. "Mann, why don't you finish up here. I've got this guy's fingers and hand finished, if you could get his arm..."
"Sure thing," said John as the doctor hurried out of Sickbay. Lt. Richards tried to leave, but John pushed him back into the bed. "Oh, no you don't," said John. "You're not allowed out of here until Dr. Kwani says so," he told Wills.
Richards shook his head. "I'm fine, really."
"Sorry," said John. "Doctor's orders." He moved to the man with the broken arm and started working again.

"A meeting?" Mira muttered at Robert James, "at this time? And who's gonna make sure that we're gonna stay in one piece eh? The autopilot maybe?"
She fell silent when James shot a glare at her, and she felt her cheeks turn red. "All right all right," she muttered, "Keep your, socks on, I'm coming already."
Mira got up from her seat and beckoned an even more junior petty officer (in rank) to take her place. A little shy, she walked into the ward room, and took her place. She felt really tiny and she was most certainly the youngest person in the room, and also the most junior crewmember as she didn't even have an officer's rank.
~yet I have a right to be here~ she thought, because her superior was down in sickbay ~after duty, I must go visit~
She gazed at the captain, and listened to him explaining their problem with the Yogons. "Perhaps we could offer something that would ensure their privacy?" she spoke up suddenly, and again felt her cheeks go red. ~me and my big mouth~
Right now, all she wanted to do was to shrink and make herself inconspicuous, and wished she hadn't spoken up. According to Federation law, she was merely a child, and it would be 18 a full year from now, including another couple of months, as she wasn't even 17 yet. She felt ashamed, because she had told everyone she was 17, otherwise she wouldn't be allowed to be on a starship.
The only one who knew, was her mentor Seklar, who hadn't condoned her lying to people, but he had supported her nonetheless.
Mira looked around again. "They did claim that we invaded their space," she defended herself, "so what if we offer them a guarantee to their privacy? It would also keep those Klingons away."

*After listing to the banter and ideas for dealing with the V'nary, an idea popped into his head.*
James: Sir the only way to insure the protection of the V'nary is to put up a defensive net along the border. But they might look on that as an infringement of their territory? But I do have an idea for handling the Klingons; or at lest drawing them out. They will not talk to us unless they think us worthy warriors. So we challenge then to a one on one contest. The only down side is if we innate the challenge they get to chose the weapons. <tag co>
James: I am fairly proficient with a bat'telh; and if this Klingon has been around for a while he just might want a bat'leth taken at the battle of Donatu 5. My Grandfather served on the old Endeavour and was one of the 56 survivors.

Curie listened inventively to the suggestions from Mira and RJ, both had very good points, perhaps the only way to resolve this situation was to give the yogons/V’nary the privacy they wanted. Alarm bells started to ring in his head when RJ mentioned fighting with the Klingons in a challenge, the Klingons were known to be fierce warriors.
“The Klingons are strong opponents,” Curie said, “Do we have anybody who could actually stand a chance against them, enough of a chance to beat them?”
Everyone in the room exchanged glances, they all knew RJ’s reputation and skill in martial arts, if anyone present could actually beat a Klingon it would be him.
“OK, we will give it a chance,” Curie said, “make any preparations you need too RJ, we’ll hail the Klingons with the challenge, I doubt they will refuse.”
“And the defensive net?” Mira asked.
“Getting the V’nary to agree to that is going to be the fun part,” Curie said, a small smiling curling at his lips, “I’ll go and speak with their representative again, try and talk them round.”
Everyone present nodded there heads in agreement with the hastily put together plan, and with a nod from Curie everyone started to leave the room, each returning to there station.
“Good luck RJ,” Curie said as the Helmsman walked out of the room.

Meanwhile down in sickbay.
Richards couldn’t remember the last time he was so bored, to know the ship was in danger, and that at this very minute the senior officers were devising a plan only served to make him more determined to leave sickbay. But Nurse Mann had made his feelings clear, and Richards knew he was going nowhere until the CMO gave her consent.
Since his arrival in sickbay, it had become rather busier, with various crewmembers coming in with different degrees of injury. Nurse Mann was greeting each one that entered, and then treating them all in order of priority.
As the Nurse walked past Richards’s bio-bed, the Navigator called out to him to get his attention.
“Do you have any idea to the ship’s status Nurse?”

"Well, we're still in one piece, right?" John replied cheerfully. "I'm not real sure, but several patients have been talking about engine trouble. I'm sure Commander Dawkins will fix it, though. Then there was something about shields not being back up to full strength yet. Any trouble with your injuries? Increased pain?"
"Nah, I'm fine," said Wills.
"Good," said John. "Call me if you need anything."

Mira trotted up besides the older helmsman, who was old enough to be her father. "I would like to offer to be your second sir," she said quietly, afraid that she was overstepping any bounds, "I am very skilled in several martial arts, and I could very quickly learn how to wield a bat'leth."
She gazed up at James hopefully; it had been a very long time since she'd done any competition, as back home on Mars nobody would compete against her anymore. And her martial arts was all she had, because she wasn't anygood in anything else, certainly not anything remotely girl-like.
"Please?" the teenager asked, "as tactician I could very much use the practice."

The news about a challenge gets around the ship quickly. She locates the captain, and goes to him quickly.
"Sir, I believe I would be useful in a competition. How many do you need?" KAT says interested, but not wanting to stand in the way of others in this. She remembers her report, and draws out her padd.
"Sir, here I have a detailed report about the surrounding nebula, and what I had found when I scanned the ships a little while ago, when we were under attack." She says presenting her padd to him. She leaves it as she is dismissed.

“Thank you Kat,” Curie said reaching out for the large padd, “In regards to the competition I believe Mira has already requested to be Commander James’s second, however I would feel comfortable if more crewmembers were present, just in case the Klingons turn nasty.”
“Thank you Captain,” Kat said a smile on her face.
Curie smiled back at her and nodded, “dismissed.”
Alone in his makeshift office at the back of his quarters, Curie briefly scanned the report on the nebula, it was most certainly the cause of the power drain the ship was experience. And according to their prisoners it was the Yogon’s own doing.
Leaving the padd on the table, Curie headed back down to the brig.
The two alien captives both looked up as the Captain walked in and dismissed the security guard.
“We have a proposition that may solve all our problems,” Curie said, walking up to the force field, “if you call off the attack on my ship, and return our missing transporter and crew, we will guarantee your independence and privacy.”
“How?” the lead alien asked.
“We will deploy a defence net, which will prevent other ships from entering this region of space.”
“And what of these Klingon’s?”
“You leave the Klingon’s to us,” Curie replied, “do we have a deal?”
The two aliens turned to each other and had a high pitch conversation that Curie couldn’t understand or follow. After a few minutes they turned back to face the Captain.
“Very well,” the leading one said, “rid us of the Klingon ship, and deploy your devices, and then we shall release your missing people.”
Curie let out an inward sigh, but one more thing was nagging at him.
“And my ship?” he asked.
As if to answer his question, the lights in the brig returned to full strength, Curie touched the wall panel and hailed the bridge.
“The nebula is disappearing,” Kat reported, “full ship power has been restored.”
“Thank you,” Curie said, and deactivated the force field that was holding the two captive, “you’re both free to go.”
Minutes later, Curie was back up on the brig, which was crew mostly by beta shift officers, RJ, Mira and Kat had all been sent down to sickbay, to insure that they were physically fit enough to take part in whatever danger they may face. <tag RJ, Mira, Kat and Mann>
On Curie’s command the viewscreen image changed to show the Klingon Captain of the other ship, who looked none too pleased to be talking to the Federation.
“Klingon Captain,” Curie said boldly, “we hereby challenge you to hand to hand combat for the rights of this system.”

T'Mok grinned toothily at the viewcreen. It was the first bit of good news since they had entered this system. "You. Challenge. ME. To a duel. HA HA HA HA" "Yes" Captain Curie replied calmly "Hah See K'Temoc this mission does bring promise of glory." K'Temoc grunted from his console, "They are just humans, Now on Alchair III..." "Yes yes we all know, 5 Orions, one disruptor" Kroll replied acidly from Science. "Do you dispute my Kill" K'Temoc bellowed jumping to his feet. "SIT DOWN!" T Mok shouted K'Temoc glared at his CO but retook his seat. "So?" Curie asked impatiently T Mok turned back to the viewscreen, "Yes you have your duel. I will beam aboard when you send co-ordinates. I will win this system by combat for the glory of the Empire. T Mok out"

The doors to Sickbay swung open once more, and not one but three people walked in. What surprised John was the fact that none of them seemed to have any injuries.
"Uh, if you've come for a physical, I'd like to ask you to wait until after we get out of this mess," said John, happy that the newcomers didn't have any medical issues.
The trio looked at each other. One cleared his throat. "We're supposed to check in with you and make sure we're fit for combat. Personal combat."
"Oh... why?"
"There's a Klingon we need to get rid of," said another officer.
John rolled his eyes. "Nobody ever tells Sickbay anything."
"Yeah, whatever, just say we can go."
"Actually, just to ensure your continued survival, I'm going to give you all a stimulant. It should increase your reflexes. You names, please?"
They introduced themselves, and John checked their records. "Well, you all do have a good medical history. A few injuries from being careless or reckless, but I suppose that's normal."
After giving them their stimulants, John contacted Dr. Kwani and told her of the possible upcoming wonded they might recieve.

Curie exchanged looks with his yeoman as the image of the Klingon Captain T’Mok disappeared from the viewscreen.
“I hope Mr. James knows what he is doing,” the Captain said, stroking his chin, “I wouldn’t want to be facing that guy.”
The yeoman merely nodded her head, unsure how to respond to such a comment from her Captain.
“I am going down to sickbay,” Curie announced, heading for the turbolift, “any trouble, you know where to find me.”
A few minutes later, Curie walked into the colourful medical centre of his ship, there was still some wounded on the bio beds, and Nurse Mann was busy treating one patient in the furthest bed. Curie watched him work for a few moments, before announcing his arrival.
“So, is our fighting team up to scratch Nurse?” he asked, walking towards the young man.
“Yes sir,” Mann replied instantly, “although we will be monitoring the fight, and at the first sign of serious injury we will want to end it.”
“That might be easier said than done,” Curie replied, “I don’t think Klingons are the sort to call a time out.”
“Probably not sir,” Mann agreed.
“Have you spoken with the Klingons?” RJ asked, he was sat on another bio bed, having just had his physical completed, next to him stood Mira and KAT.
“Yes,” Curie answered, walking over to them, “they have agreed and we get to pick the location.”
“Great,” RJ said with a smile.
“I still think its risking your lives too much,” Mann said, walking over to the group “isn’t there another way?”
“Not that I can see,” Curie admitted, “this could be the only way.”
There was a few seconds silence, confirmation that everyone else thought the same thing, finally Curie broke that silence.
“So are you all feeling confident?”

"Yes, sir, but not too confident. We must be ready for anything they have. Do we know exactly how many of them there will be at this fight? Have we decided on where we are going to fight? Are there going to be weapons. Sorry sir, I don't mean to ask too many questions, but I would like to be prepared." KAT says when she gets a look from the captain.

Mira allowed Mann to do his exams on her, and then energetically hopped off the bed. She moved a little to the side and started performing a few kata moves. She needed permission to use the rec-deck in order to practice her moves.
The youngster looked up as Curie came walking into sickbay, and smiled as he addressed them. "Yes sir!," she almost shouted, "ready as I'll ever be sir!"
She paused then, looking at him a little uncertainly. "Uhm sir...could I use the rec-deck for about an hour? I need to practice and warm up if I am to be of any use during the challenge," she said.
She glanced at James and Kat. "If you like, you're quite welcome to join me, sir, ma'am. One is just so.....alone."

*After RJ went through a few warm up routines he unwrapped the package he had kept with him all his life. Pressing a button on his tricorder; * Personal log; Lt Cmdr Robert Adam James recording. Today I will avenge the cold blooded murder of over 60 members of the valiant crew of the USS Endeavour at the battle of Donatu V. These crew members were herded into a cargo bay air lock and ejected into space to try to get the USS Yorkshire to drop it's shields to rescue them and thus allowing them to disable another Star Fleet ship. If I do not survive this challenge it should still buy the Co his right to negotiate a truce. end recording.
*Picking up the bat'telh he slung it into the scabbard on his back and headed for the transporter room. Entering the transporter room RJ moved to his Co and handed him the tricorder.*
James: Sir if I do not survive this encounter the info in this should help you negotiate with the Klingon. Currie: Are you sure you can pull this off?
James: Sir I have been training for this all my life. What most people do not know about me is that my mothers older brother name was Michel Fuller. As in Commander Michel Fuller of the USS Endeavour and the battle of Donatu V.
Currie: So this is a vendetta thing?
James: Yes and no sir; it's just the best idea I could come up with.
Transporter operator: Sir the Kingons are ready.
Currie: Klingons, I thought there would only be one?
James: Sir they will have no less than 2 and no more than 5. Also I suggest you use the universal translator.
TO: There are 3 in their party.
Currie: Energize.
*3 Klingons materialized on the pads armed with bat'leths.*
Tmor: Who dares challenge a warrior of the Empire.
James: I do Robert son of Michel grandson of Stephen husband of Mary sister of Michel Fuller.
*All three Klingons turned to look at each other.*
James: I noticed you have no honor. " 'ang'eghQo' quv Hutlhbogh jagh neH ghobtaHvIS. ghaH." ( Only an enemy without honor refuses to show himself in battle.) *Now it was the Co and the rest of the Federation crew present to be surprised.*
Tmor: So you speak Klingon, but do you know what happens when you insult the honor of a Klingon?
Currie: So there is more to this than meets the eye and Mr James if you do survive we will be having a long talk. So let us move to the Gym and settle this.
*The 3 Klingons were escorted to the Ship Gym which had been set up to Cmdr James specifications.*
Tmor: We have borough a warriors weapon for you.
James: Thanks but no thanks; I brought my own. This has been handed down in my family since Donatu V.
*Tmor got madder and madder how dare this pitak of a human soil an honorable weapon.
Tmor: Enough "Heghlu'meH QaQ jajvam" (it is a good day to die.)
James: For you. "nuHIIj DawIvpu', vaj yISuv!" ( You have chosen your weapon, so fight.)
*As Tmor and RJ took their positions at the center of the ring, Tmor charged and swung for a killing blow. RJ gave ground and par-led the attack and preformed a leg sweep causing Tmor to skid across the deck on his face. Getting up he became enraged but held it in check as he saw the red blood dripping from his weapon. Looking at RJ who's right arm had a long bleeding cut from shoulder to elbow. But became more enraged when he saw James holding his D'dk tahg in his left hand.*
Tmor: Give up now and I will make your death quick.
James: As my great great great grad father would have said up yours. If you want this come and get it.
*This time the Klingon moved in more cautiously. Then James charged and as their blades meet; RJ kicked out toward Tmor but Tmor reversed his blade to catch a leg sweep. This time RJ went into a slide and trust up with the captured D'dk tahg penetrating the Klingons armor just above the belt. Tmor dropped his bat'leth and fell to his knees holding the dagger sticking from his side. The CMO jumped up and started for the ring but the Co grabbed her arm and stopped her.*
James: Do you yield?
Tmor: no!
James: " noH QapmeH wo' Qaw'lu'chugh yay chavbe'lu 'ej." (Destroying an empire to win a war is no victory.)
Tmor: and ending a battle to save an empire is no defeat. You win Human what do you want of me?
James: I will let the Captain talk to you about that while your wound is attend to.
Tmor: We have no doctor I had to kill him for incompetence.
James: Well you are in luck our Doctor is very good and I think we both need her. *At that point RJ sat on the deck next to the Klingon. * Here I present you with this blade of Honor which was used in the battle of Donatu V.
<tag CMO>
Tmor: I accept and present ( Tmor pulled his d'k tahg out of his side and handed it to RJ.) with this blade which you have have used to win the day.
James: If you have any Bloodwind I would be honored to toast this battle. "rut yIHmey ghom Hoch." (Everyone encounters tribbles occasionally.)
Tmor: Have a barrel beamed over, and please speak standard your Klingon is giving me a head ach.
*As the doctor and nurses began to treat the combatants Tmor and RJ shared a laugh at the jokes.

Curie watched the laughter and apparent comradeship between RJ and T’Mok and couldn’t believe his eyes. Just seconds before they had been ready to kill each other, and now they were acting as if they were blood brothers of some kind. He realised he would never understand Klingons.
“Before you go off celebrating,” Curie said sternly, “report to sickbay, I want you to be checked over.”
RJ merely nodded his head, as he and his new Klingon friend left the staging area.
“Get this mess cleaned up,” Curie said to the two crewmembers next to him, and then turned to leave the room himself, with him Mira and Kat followed. Thankfully neither of them had been harmed during the fight.
“We need to get to work on setting up that defence array for the Yogons,” Curie said to the two women, “Mira make sure the weapon systems used are up to the task, Kat, if you could check over the sensor systems, make sure they will be capable of detecting cloaked vessels.”
“Aye sir,” both answered, heading off to do the jobs asked of them.
Curie walked back up the bridge, and took the large padd handed to him by the yeoman, it was details of the next duty shift that required his approval, also he noticed a new message had been received from Starfleet Command during the fight below decks. He quickly scanned the document, which was written orders that upon completion of her mission the Excalibur was to return to Starbase to undo the finishing touches to her refit.
“Curie to sickbay,” he said, flipping the comm switch on his chair, “status of our Mr. James?”

"Well, I can't say I'm unhappy to see you," said the nurse, approaching the Klingon. "It'll be nice to have a break after all those humans, Vulcans, and Andronians. Klingons have incredible fail-safe bodies. Its always a piece of cake to patch them up."
"I'll take that as a compliment," said the Klingon, who seemed to be incredibly happy despite his wounds. As John finished up with the Klingon's stomach, Dr. Kwani healed the last of James's arm. The two medical officers gave the two permission to leave, preparing hyposprays to deal with the upcoming drunkeness that would almost most certainly result from excessive bloodwine.

*As Cmdr James climbed off the bio bed the door to sick bay opened and in stepped the other two Klingons.*
K'mar: QotDI' gheD tlejbe' wamwl' (The hunter does not lie down with the prey.) I K'mar son of Tokar challenge you for command. Then I will deal with these Federation Targs.
*James turned to T'Mar:*
James:ghllab ghewmey tIbuSQo' (Pay no heed to glob flies.)
T'Mar: LOL, veqIarghII' yIbuS 'ej veqlarghwl' vIbuS. (You pay attention to your Fek'lhr and I will pay attention to mine.)
*Kmar drew his disrupter and fired hitting T'Mar in the chest. Before he could change targets James pulled the d'ktahg T'Mar had given him and threw it at Kmar. The weapon stuck dead center in his throat.*
James: DOCTOR!!!
*The nurse and James made it to T'Mar and put him on the bio bed as the Doctor returned to the room looked at the bio monitor and began to treat T'Mar.

* As a security team entered sick bay; the nurse was leaning over the Klingon. Removing the dagger from his neck. He began to work on saving him. Turning to the Security Officers;*
Nurse: He has no pulse. Help me get on table two.
James: Leave him. That is an order. He is guilty of attempted murder of his Commander and if the Commander recovers he will be executed or at best allowed to commit suicide...

With her orders she heads off to scan the sensor array hoping it will do what it is required to. She finds the array in perfect working order, but it won't detect cloaked ships. She thinks about her problem, and isn't sure exactly why it won't do that. She wonders if someone tampered with it. She does a deeper scan to find someone reversed a couple of the chips in the array. She isn't happy with this, and heads off to talk to an engineer about fixing it.

Mira bit her lip as she heard Curie order her to look after the weapons systems that would be used for the defence net. She was just a junior crewmember, and not even one of officer's rank. Yet somewhere she felt pride at being given an important task to attend to.
She walked off with Kat, and curiously eyed the draconic female. Mira had never seen one of her species before, but didn't think it polite to ask about it. She walked back to the navigations and security console, and started her calculations. It was her good fortune that she was reasonably good at maths, which was the only school subject she'd been reasonably good at. That, and language. Other subjects like biology she failed miserably, and science wasn't her thing either.
Mira sat back in her chair, waiting for the computer to announce that it had finished it's calculations. The young assistant navigator had fed them into the computer just to be on the safe side, but she was reasonably sure that the figures she'd come up with weer correct.
Thirty minutes later, the computer spewed a handful of figures and Mira smiled to herself. Her own calculations had only been off by a fraction of two-tenths...which was within acceptable margin. She downloaded the results onto a diskette and walked up to Curie.
"Excuse me sir," she said quietly, her cheeks burning red with nervosity, "I have the results of the weapons system. At present they are up to the task, but they will be obsolete within a year. If Lt Richards agrees with my findings, I would like to oversee upgrates on the weapons systems." She handed a yellow coloured disk to the captain. "I am going to see Lt Richards in sickbay now," she said, "and confer with him on the next course of action." She smiled weakly. "After all he's still the chief."
