Katie loved going to the holodeck with Paikea. It was always a new adventure when they got their creative minds together. This time it was right down Katie's alley.
Katie had loved baseball since before she could remember anything else. She loved it much better than she played it though.
"Let me see what you've got." Katie yelled to Paikea who was standing on the pitchers mound.
Katie watched as Paikea laughed. As soon as she stepped into the batters box a holographic catcher appeared. Before Katie was ready Paikea had already pitched the ball, causing her to swing wildly. This gave Paikea another good laugh. Katie always playing the defiant one gave Paikea several mean looks before turning her hat backwards and stepping back into the batters box.
"Throw that pitch again!" Katie yelled out.

"Throw that pitch again!" Katie yelled out.
Paikea looked at Katie for a second, with her baseball uniform and bat in hand. Katie was no pushover and she would play Paikea with all that she got, which wasn't good for him. He was a new fan to baseball and he didn't know how to handle the ball really well. Katie on the other hand was an avid baseball fan and knew how to play the game.
Paikea thought for a second, as he took a stronger hold on the ball. He wanted her to swing again and miss, but could he reproduce the same outcome. Without giving it anymore thought, Paikea through the ball down the middle and Katie's bat collided with the ball. It was only a split second, but the ball immediately came right at Paikea and before he could do anything the ball hit his head and Pa fell to the floor.
The safteys were on, but it didn't mean that Paieka wasn't in serious pain. He could clearly see little stars around his head which wasn't a nice feeling. Katie immediately ran towards him, but before he could do anything his eyes closed and he couldn't remember anything else.

Pride : Sat down at the table of the restaurant they had just entered when Illito asked her question. “So, what do you enjoy doing other than restoring old ships?”
Looking at her and admiring here strength. " Right now I would say I enjoy taking out the chief medical. I"m kind of new at it so it might take alot of practice I just hope some one will help me with that." Hoping she understood he was trying to be funny. " I'm into alot of things I love star gazing sand sailing and a few other things. What about you what gets the heart pumping What makes you feel alive?" <Tag Illito>

The Scavenger appeared to echo with the sound of his footsteps as Luke walked through her decks. It had been at least a week since the Scavenger had docked but the time had practically dragged, kicking and screaming, by for the ever ageing Commander. On the first day of their return the Scavenger and her crew had undergone the usual physicals and examinations. All showing signs of holding up well despite their most recent excitement. However, the usual routine was soon to be interupted, for Luke at least. The second day had proved to be more eventful. The crew of the Scavenger had all disembarked and journeyed to their temporary quarters, leaving only Luke and a certain angry Admiral to deal with. Oren himself had shown up, clearly disgruntled by the latest antics and reprecussions they bought with them. He, of course, was playing ignorant to the whole situation. As far as Oren was concerned there was no conversation with Drago and there defiantely no involvement during the Scavengers last mission. The more Luke mused on this subject the more he realised it was probably for the best. Perhaps, this would be the end of the futile hostility between himself and Command. It was a naive hope, but a hope nonetheless. Day three had been one of the most boring Luke could remember having experienced in a long time. He was forced to sit through mountains of 'paper' work and crew reports of one form of another. Usually he would share the load with his First Officer, at least allow them to acknowledge the standard Ops reports, however he did not feel like sitting down in the same room with Cavit at the time, through a fault of only his own. He always came on too strongly. Kind of like, "This is me, accept it or leave." He of course blamed KezTrek for this although he was sure J'Leera would confirm this was the way he had always been. The fourth day he had given himself a day off, the 'paper' work remained on his desk and Luke amused himself in Belina Forest. A program that he had been using ever since his days in the Academy. It was so important to him that he kept the program stored on a portable device that was hung around his neck. Along with a small silver cross and a ring on the same chain. All kept out of sight. He had been taught that any personal possesions that were visible were a sign of weakness. But those three items were ones that would never leave his side, and instead of a weakness he drew strength from them. The next 2 days followed the same pattern as the third. He didn't leave his Ready Room for 36 hours straight and by the time he made it to his quarters he felt like he was going to collapse. The workload itself wasn't the exhausting bit, it was more that he had to keep focussed all the time. He felt like any slip us was being logged. Perhaps paranoia was creeping up on him as he grew older... By the seventh day of Shore Leave Luke was once again in the Holodeck this time experiencing a different program. He was surrounded by the smell of the outside. The trees, flora of all shapes, sizes and varieties, birds, and the wind. Each having their own distinct smell or texture. As he walked through this particular program he came to an area that was well worn with the progress of many footsteps. The program had been designed to adapt everytime he visited and this particular area was visited a lot. As he approached his destination he crouched to the floor and brushed away fallen leaves from a small placard in the ground. Free for so short a time compared to that in slavery. May you find the freedom we so dearly sought in life after it. I will love you forever. And then beneath it. Amy Krentuckvja

“What makes you feel alive?” Pride asked.
“Going out with the Scavenger's Chief Navigation Officer,” Illito answered, smiling at him. She then glanced down at her menu and bought some more time to think about the question as she figured out what she was going to eat. She decided what to eat quickly, choosing something that she'd never heard of before, but sounded interesting.
But she still didn't have an answer to Pride's question. She just shrugged. “I don't know though.” She glanced at his eyes, and frowned. “I really don't spend a lot of time relaxing.” Illito looked again at Pride, but smiled only hesitantly, afraid that he would suddenly realize that she really wasn't a very interesting person and would want to leave.

Katie swung hard and was surprised when she made contact with the ball. She then watched in horror as it went right back to where it had come from. Katie was rushing to Paikea's side before he knew what had happened.
"Are you all right???"

Pride: As illito and pride sat at the table she answered his earlier question “Going out with the Scavenger's Chief Navigation Officer,” Smiling and about to respond the server came to there table. Since he had never ordered anything he diced ed to ask the server. "I've never have had bolian before what would you recommend." The server suggested the special" Sounds good to me".
Pride: As the server left he could tell Illito was thinking about what she did for fun. “I really don't spend a lot of time relaxing.” smiling back at her. " Then I guess I'm going to have to do something about it. I think its time we figure out what you might enjoy. We will begin tonight why dont you show up to dinner tonight alittle early and we will see if you like cooking if you dont well at least I'll get the pleasure of your company" as the there food arrived it looked good and smelled even better. " You know I have to say that its been a long time since I've enjoyed the pleasure of somebody company so much as a matter of fact I cant even remember the last time."
Pride: Thought for amonent and decided to open up alittle to make her feel comfortable. "Its hard for me sometimes I may be humane but wasn't raised by the them I grew up on a planet that didn't have humans on it. My adoptive parents were good people and raised be no differently then there own children. I was taught many things one how to use the power of my mind. But there are times I wish that I was more humane so that I would fit in better. But after today spending time with you I would say that I like the way I"am now because it gave me a chance to know you." Looking back at her and smiling some more" I wouldn't worrie to much about not having hobbies your a doctor and sometimes your work doesn't afford you the chance but that doesn't mean your not fun because I"m having fun right now sitting here eating lunch with you"

"Are you all right???"
Paikea didn't respond as quickly as he would of hoped. His head was pounding so hard that it didn't let him speak. After another minute on the floor he responded to Katie who was clearly worried.
"It seems that you are trying to kill me," Paikea smiled which caused Katie to punch him in the arm. Maybe he shouldn't have done that cause her punch hurt as well.
Paikea stayed on the floor until, the dirt started to itch. Paikea expected that a bump would appear sooner rather than later, and so he decided to stop playing baseball.
"Why didn't you tell me the sport could be dangerous?" Pai asked Katie.

"Computer. What is the time?"
=^= The time is 2043 =^=
Luke sighed and straightened up from his slouched position. He had been sitting in his Ready Room for only an hour or so but he was finding it challenging to focus. Not that he had been doing anything that required a particular amount of attention. S47 still had yet to inform Luke whether he would be in the centre seat the next time the Scavenger flew out and also where she would be flying out to. He had been occupying himself reading through the sensor data gathered when the Scavenger had been in the Volcheck Nebula. It had not been a complete waste of time, in fact rather valuable information had been gathered about the make-up of the Nebula. Not that Luke was particularly interested in any of that. His primary line of questionning concerned the vessel that had attacked them. They had received little, if any, useful information on the unknown assailant. Luke had been ploughing through the records in a vain attempt to find anything of use. He was aware that Apirana had done the same and resigned himself to the fact that if the CScO couldn't find anything then he probably wasn't going to either.
Standing to his feet Luke left the Ready Room and nodded to the few Engineers and Technicians that were on the Bridge. Most of the crew were in fact still on Assailant. Only those required to repair the Scavenger had remained onboard. Apart from Luke himself who was not overly comfortable with Assailant yet. He missed Bellicose... In fact he missed the Tiger Shark docking at Bellicose... Or more precisely he missed himself being in charge of the Tiger Shark docking at Bellicose. Looking back everything seemed so simple then. Although at the time he supposed he must have felt just as stressed in certain periods as he did now.
Unconsciously he had made his way to his quarters where he threw himself unceremonially onto his bed. His stomach gurgled loudly and he could feel the presence of a headache only caused by the lack of coffee appearing just above his right eye. Which in turn reminded him. The Nano probes. Luke slowly propped himself up on his bed and reached over to the small counter where two hyposprays lay. He took each in turn and pressed them to the right side of his head by the eye and then the same for the left. This done he stumbled over to the replicator and ordered a pot of coffee and a plate of pancakes.
Some things never changed...

"Why didn't you tell me the sport could be dangerous?" Pai asked Katie.
"This isn't a dangerous sport. This just happened to be a fluke." Katie replied.
Katie pulled as hard as she could on Paikea's arm and finally managed to pull him to his feet. Paikea seemed to stumble a bit but Katie rushed in under one of his arms.
"We need to get you to sickbay to get checked out." Katie said.
"I think that's a good...idea." Paikea said.
Katie helped Paikea down the hallway to a turbo lift. Paikea stumbled in with Katie's help.
"You know soccer is a much more dangerous sport than baseball." Katie said.
"Football." Paikea said.
"Football was a dangerous sport also, but I'm talking about soccer." Katie replied.
"You're so from the North American continent." Paikea said with a good laugh.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Katie questioned.
"You call it soccer, the rest of the world has always called it football." Paikea said.
"It is soccer! And if you want me to help you all the way to sickbay than you will let it be soccer for the time being." Katie said.
"Alright, alright. It's soccer." Paikea said.
"Thank you." Katie replied with her normal victory smirk.

It was really amusing, fighting over a word, but that was exactly what they were doing. Everyone knew that it was football and not soccer, but his throbbing head didn't let him ponder on it to much. That was the only reason that he let Katie when the arguement.
As they made there way out of the holodeck, people couldn't help but stare at them. It wasn't everday that a women Katie's size was supporting someone almost a foot taller than them.
"You know, I think someone isn't going to let me forget this," Paikea said as they headed towards the starbases sickbay.

The smell drifted towards Luke and he smiled. It always reminded him of home. Home before the slavers. It smelt vaugely of pine chippings but a little like melted chocolate. It was hard to describe but it had a mouth watering effect. As the holographic waiter brought over his food Luke licked his lips and picked up his knife and fork expectantly.
=^= Bridge to Commander Drago =^=
The knife and fork fell to the table and Luke heaved a massive sigh, tapping his communicator.
"Go ahead."
=^= Sorry to interupt your time off Sir but I have a Captain Tras on the Bridge demanding that he speak with you. Apparantly this has all been arranged =^=
Luke frowned. He had never heard of a Captain Tras, nor had he arranged any meeting with anyone for the next few days. The Scavenger was being detained while they figured out what to do with Luke and so he was enjoying the extra free time.
"Tell him I am off duty and that I will talk to him at a more convenient time."
=^= I've already tried that Sir. He isn't leaving =^=
Muttering slightly under his breath Luke stood up, leaving the steaming plate of food on the table. "I will be on the Bridge shortly. Direct him to my Ready Room with an escort." He closed the channel before he could receive a response. "Computer, end program."

Pride: Had finished having lunch Illito and was excited about making her dinner later on that day. He had returned to the Scavenger and changed his clothes into a duty uniform. There were a couple of things on the bridge he wanted to take care of. When he arrived on the bridge he could see the duty officer talking to a captain he had never seen before. It appeared the captain wanted to talk to commander Drago now and was not willing to come back at a later time.
Pride over heard the reply from Commander drago saying he would be on his way up and to escort the captian to the ready room. They young officer didn't look happy about telling a captain what to do. " I'll take this if you could follow me sir I'll take you to his ready room" The captiain was not happy " I'm Captain Tras Lt and I know where the ready room is I can show my self" looking at the Captain " With all due respect sir to your rank , You are not captain of this ship Commander Drago is and if he says you are to be escorted then I promise you thats whats going to happen now you can follow me or I can have security escort you of this ship"
" Lt if I were you I would be careful" " If I were you sir I would show the proper respect do to the commanding officer of this ship and honor his wishes as you would expect a guest to do aboard your own ship now if you would be so kind and follow me" They walked into commander drago ready room and waited for his arrival.<Tag Drago>
Pride: Walked over to Commander Drago computer terminal and pulled up all information on Captain Tras and down loaded it to a pad the he called the duty officer in and handed the pad over to him instructing to give it to Commander Drago before he entered his ready room. The Captain Tras didn't take any notice still fumming over being escorted and being talked to the way he had been. Thinking to himself that he was going to hear about that later well as long as I dont miss my dinner date.

Angel wanted to talk to her brother, and had something important to tell him. She noticed he went on duty, and sighed. She had to get back soon, since she didn't trust just anyone to completely run her new shop. She was about to see where he was when she felt very bad.
Angel made her way down to sickbay, only to find Illito there busy as she would expect a doctor to be.
"Hello, doctor, I think something is wrong. I just hope my baby is alright. Would you please check?" Angel said hoping the doctor wasn't too busy.

Pride: Was waiting for Commander Drago in his ready room when he felt his sister's presents on board the ship. He was hoping Drago would show up soon so he could leave. When all of a suddent he felt something else another life but he couldn't pin point it. Looking back at the upset Captain he tapped his combadge "Lt Pride to Commander Paris is everthing okay?" <Tag Angel>as he waited for a response he went back to Commander Drago computer terminal to check to see when he would arrive.
Pride: Study the read out he couldn't shake the feeling that there was another life force aboard the ship. Not wanting to alarm anybody he did a quick scan of the ship and found nothing out of sink. Captain Tras started to look at him and asked a question " Lt Pride right do you know when Commander Drago plans on showing up or is he in the habit of keeping people waiting?" Looking back at Captain Tras " Sir I'm sure he's on his way he is a very busy man even with the crew on shore leave he still has duties to perform if he says' he's going to be hear then he will be hear. Dam where is this feeling coming from he thought to himself closing his eyes he sent a message to his sister. " I guess I'll be seeing you shortly I"m just wainting for commander drago to show up by the way do you feel anything strange?" <Tag Angel>

Angel heard her brother over the comm while she waited for the doctor.
"I'm feeling a little unwell right now, but I am seeing the doctor for that. It isn't anything I don't expect. You should worry about work right now, and not about me. Do your duty, and relax brother," she said ending the conversation, or so she thought.
A little bit later she heard him in her head and sighed. ~Nothing stranger than what I've been feeling lately. I have some news for you, but not until we meet alone. I don't want the whole galaxy to know about this. I would also feel better if we were face to face, so I won't tell you now in this form. Let me know when we can meet, I need to get back to the doctor now. See what she says about how I'm feeling.~ Angel thought sending the message to Pride.

"How did this happen?" the base doctor asked. Paikea immediately flahsed his eyes at Katie to see how she would react to the question. She surprisingly cringed and averted her eyes.
"I ran into a poll on the holodeck, I was distracted and ran into it," Paikea responded as he rubbed his head to add effect. "It was very stupid of me I know, but could you please just give me something to take away the pain."
"Commander, you must be more careful from now on," the doctor said," you have sustained a mild concusion. Next time you might not be so lucky."
The doctor then grabbed a hypospray and applied it to Paikea's neck. There was an instant tingle in his head, which made him feel lightheaded.
"Here apply this to your bump and it will disappear in an hour," the doctor said giving Paikea a lotion. Paikea took it and propped off the bio bed.
"Lt. Anderson, make sure that he doesn't run into another poll," the doctor said not able to contain a chuckle. Paikea became embarrassed, but knew that there shouldn't be a reason. He hadn't run into a poll, but he didn't want to put Katie on the spot either.
"Thanks," Katie said as she grabbed onto his arm.
"For what?" Paikea asked as he walked with her.

Illito had been slightly distracted when Angel entered sickbay, apparently most people had to have chosen today of all days to get routine medical checkups and such, the one day that Illito actually had something she wanted to do far more than be on duty in sickbay. Still, Illito noticed Angel heading towards her and finished up what she was doing before turning to her.
"Hello, doctor, I think something is wrong. I just hope my baby is alright. Would you please check?" Angel asked, surprising Illito on quite a few levels. First, the fact that Angel was pregnant, and second that Angel was asking Illito for help when Illito knew the doctors on Assailant were quite good at their jobs.
“Sure,” Illito said, managing not to look too surprised, and gesturing to a biobed. “Care to have a seat for a moment?” she asked.
Illito took out her tricorder and started scanning Angel. She knew this was the point where she should be making polite conversation, but her bedside manner seemed to be failing her. After all, if she asked vague, general questions Angel might think Illito was trying to forget that they had been cadets together, but Illito didn't want to ask anything overly personal.
“Is there any particular reason you're worried about the baby?” Illito decided on, knowing that the question was kind of neutral, and sounded it, but Illito wasn't sure where else to start, and at least the answer might help determine if there would be a problem while Illito waited for the tricorder to finish scanning.

Angel sat down on the biobed. She heard the doctor's question.
"Well, I wouldn't be worried if it didn't hurt so much. There are sharp pains along the sides of my belly," Angel explains hoping nothing is wrong. ~Please let him be okay.~ She pleaded in her mind.
Angel couldn't stand too much more of this. She wondered why the doctor was being so neutral, and she also wondered why the scan was taking so long.
"Do you know yet, Illito?" Angel said becoming impatient, as she added the doctor's name to get her attention. ~I didn't come to just anyone with this.~ She started to think.
"Illito, you are treating me like you don't know me. I can see that. I'm not just some patient. I came to you, because I thought you would treat me as someone more concerned that just a doctor would be," Angel said and sat back waiting to hear the results.

“If I knew I would tell you,” Illito responded calmly, checking the tricorder, wondering briefly why it was taking so long.
"Illito, you are treating me like you don't know me. I can see that. I'm not just some patient. I came to you, because I thought you would treat me as someone more concerned that just a doctor would be," Angel said, but Illito was saved from having to answer that by the chirping of the tricorder.
Illito glanced down at the reading, and smiled at Angel. “Your son is fine,” Illito said reassuringly, then turned the tricorder around and showed the results to Angel. “Both your sons are fine. You're pregnant with twins,” Illito explained, and glanced at Angel, who obviously hadn't been expecting this.
“Which would explain the discomfort you've been feeling,” Illito continued, then wisely decided to quit talking while Angel absorbed what Illito had said.

Pride: Watched Commander Drago Arrive to his ready room. He could tell he wasn't happy about being distrubed on his time off. " Commander if its okay with you I would like to go off shift now my sister has coma aboard" Commander drago gave his okay he also noticed Drago had the pad he down loaded info to. Before leaving the ready room Pride signaled security to report to the bridge. Exiting the ready room pride turned to the security gaurds" you are to stand by out side Commander Drago ready room. Captain Tras is to be escorted at all times unless Commander Drago says so is that understood"
Pride: Left the Bridge and head to sickbay he was alittle confussed right now and didn't know what to make of it. Why was his sister seeing Illito He was alittle worried he knew that his sister could be a little over protective of him and he really like Illito alot. When he arrived in sickbay he saw Illito and Angel talking not wanting to interupt he waited by the door. Giving the some privacy. When all of a sudden he felt the life force the he detected earlyer. It was strong very powerful it started to overwhelm him. Every since his sister came aboard he had left him self open to these feeling incase she needed him. The feeling were overwhelming him to much at once it was trying to hurt him it was just to much at once he felt himself falling to the floor and things started to go black. <Tag Illito and Angel>

Angel was in complete shock at hearing she would be having two boys. ~Watch out galaxy.~ She thought as the shock started to wear off. A smile slowly came to her face.
Suddenly Pride was there, and he was going toward the floor. "Brother! Wake up," she said as she moved over to him. Angel knew that she couldn't move him to a biobed, or she would be in serious trouble with all the doctors that knew about her pregnancy.
"Is he going to be okay?"

"For what?" Paikea asked as he walked with her.
"For being the most WONDERFUL guy around." Katie replied.
Katie smiled as they walked holding hands. She loved being able to have this free time with Paikea. Katie knew that once the next mission started it would be all buisness again, so she had to enjoy this time while it lasted. Feeling a surge of affection Katie wrapped her arms around Paikea's waist as they walked and squeezed as hard as she could. She couldn't help but let out a slight giggle.
"What was that for?" Paikea asked.
"Nothing." Katie replied with a HUGE smile.

It dawned on him that this was the first time in a long time that he wasn't worried about anything. He didn't remember the Scavenger, his family, his father, or any of the troubles that followed him. He was just happy that he was able to spend time with Katie. Since leaving the Academy they have both changed, he didn't want to admit it, but he knew it was true. They were as naive or trusting of strangers. There relationship had become strained because of his foolishness, but luckily for him she had forgiven him.
As they walked he couldn't believe how grateful he was to have her in his life. He knew that she hated what was going on in the quadrant; war, famine, and disease. He was sure that this was driving force in keeping her in service and it also made him love her more. She was doing everything in her power to make the universe a better place.
When the reached the turbolift, Paikea realized that he didn't know where they were going, but he hoped that it was the Scavenger. He could think straight at the moment, but his bump was still bothering him. He knew that the doctor on the base was qualified, but he would ask Illito to check him out.
"Computer, Docking Bay port 3," Katie said as she grabbed his hand," why don't we ask Illito to check you out."
"Katie, I didn't know you cared," Paikea said laughing.
"If I wasn't afraid of topping you over, I would punch you," Katie said laughing. Paikea loved it when she laughed because it also made him laugh.
