*RJ entered the Bridge behind Chief Green. Kids everywhere he looked. Even the Co was younger than him; oh well too much time spent in the Jeffery's tubes.*
RJ: Chief don't sweat the time I advised the Co and Xo of your attendance of my class. Being the 2nd Officer does have a few perks. I am not sure what will happen to the Klingon Commander. If his superiors are also followers of Kahless, then he will be all right. Kahless said; bItuHlaHbe, chugh bIquviaHbe,( if you can not be shamed you cannot be honored.). I got lucky he had never fought a Human who using a bat'tlh.
*Curie, RJ and Mira all exchanged worried glances as they heard the report from KAT down in engineering: RJ activated the tactical system sensors and begain a level 1 diagnostic.*
RJ: I have a bad feeling about this; Captain this looks to good; I have never seen the phasers banks on this ship with 100% power efficiency. It looks like an Academy sim. The port phaser usually runs at 105% and the Starboard at 99.6% Request permission to check out the main phaser controls and sub systems. If I am right about this then we could be in trouble if we need weapons. Also I would like Chief Green to do the same to the Torpedo launch controls.

Curie nodded his head at RJ’s request, lines of worry deep on his face.
“Permission granted Commander,” he said wearily, “I’ll inform Engineering we are conducting diagnostics up here.”
Curie watched the two officers both busy themselves at there consoles, each running a detailed scan of the Excalibur’s systems. Each station on the bridge was now manned, and the almost every department was checking through there systems. It was only Curie who didn’t have a console to keep him busy, not wanting to disturb his officers by watching them work, he occupied himself by watching the stars warp past on the viewscreen. This was often the downside to command, you couldn’t always be 100% involved with everything. Sometimes you just had to wait for your crew to deliver.
As Curie contemplated that line of thought, he also started to wonder who could be behind the acts of sabotage that the Excalibur was experiencing. It was true many new crewmembers had joined them at Starbase 6, but Curie found the idea that any Starfleet Officer would willingly sabotage a starship very disturbing. However, he knew it wouldn’t be the first time an crewmember had gone bad, it was just a few years ago that that Lieutenant Commander; Ben Finney, had tried to frame James T. Kirk, and destory the Enterprise.
Curie hoped beyond hope that they would be able to avoid an indcident like that, Finney’s actions had shocked the entire fleet, with a bit of luck, this would stay much more low key.
Curie was startled back to the present time by KAT’s report over the comm system.
“Any idea what sort of chips have been stolen Commander?” Curie answered, leaning forward in his chair.
<tag KAT>
“Is there anyway we can trace them?”
<tag KAT>
“Very well, thank you Commander, keep myself and Chief Adam’s informed.”
Closing the channel, Curie decided it was time he inspected the damage to his ship first head, so with new determination, he rose from his seat, and headed towards the turbolift.
“The bridge is yours Commander James,” Curie said, as the turbolift doors closed.
Stepping out into the corridor, Curie ran into Nurse Mann, who was on his way back to sickbay after completing his scans of the area.
“What did you find out Mr. Mann?” Curie asked, interested to know what possible evindence the Nurse’s medical scans had revelled.

Mira was getting annoyed; she did appreciate RJ teaching her Klingon combat techniques, but she didn't appreciate him pointing out doing work that was hers to attend to.
"Excuse me," she suddenly spoke up, her eyes flashing angrily, "but as tactical is my job to attend to I would really appreciate it if you would not point out tasks that I can handle myself. As I had pointed out earlier, our course has been locked and encrypted so that whoever changed it, cannot do so again. I was going to attend to some target practice, and encrypt the use of our phasers and torpedo launching systems."
She glared daringly at the chief helms officer, not caring that he was probably old enough to be her father. She didn't like being treated like a child, as if she could not attend to her own tasks without adult supervision. "I am quite capable of doing my work, sir," she added testily, then turned back to focus on the job at hand.
Somebody was trying to change their course, and affecting their systems, and the teenager wondered who was doing it and more importantly: what for. "Phasers are working at optimal efficiency," she reported, "and I have encrypted the use. Whoever is trying to sabotage this ship, they will not get at weapons control without me or our security chief knowing about it. Torpedo's is going to be a little more tricky, as I will have to go and inspect them myself and manually restrict access to the systems."
She turned to Curie. "Permission to leave the bridge and inspect the launching systems? I would request the presence of the chief engineer as I see to the inspection."

*RJ listened to the little out burst from the Chief.*
James: Aye Sir I have the Con. * Standing up to move to the center seat RJ stooped next to the nav station*
RJ: Well now chief you need to do a little research on the officers you work with. You may be the navigator but I put this ship back together there is not one section of this ship I did not inspect or work on during the refit. Also I was installing torpedo launching systems to the Enterprise under Captain Pike when I was your age. I found a loop back on the phaser cooling circuits and thought you should check out the torp launching systems. Especially the magnetic accelerator program as the error check is off.
*RJ proceeded to the center chair to monitor the search for more problems.*
RJ:"Cmdr James to phaser control, run a level one diagnostic on the coolant system and program.
Phaser Room: Aye sir.
OFF: There is always some confusion of Tactical in the TOS era. Helm has the tactical sensor for targeting and firing of the phasers. According to the USS Enterprise Bridge Blueprints and the Star Fleet Tech manual original release. All weapons systems are on the helm panel main panel Torp tube select buttons 1 - 6. Phaser select buttons 7 - 12. But in more than one episode of TOS I remember Chekhov firing torpedo's?

Your both right LOL
In the first season of TOS, Sulu had weapons control, but then in the second season, the actor requested some time off. So they created Chekov's character, but didn't give him the same position as Sulu, so that the Sulu character could return. However, they did give Chekov most of Sulu's lines, and duties. The result being that both of them were seen using the tactical systems, even though they sat at different consoles.
Matters are not helped by the fact that in all the films Chekov was then stated to be the Tactical Officer, yet he continued to sit at the same station, apart from in Star Trek II, where he did actually sit at the Tactical Station, rather than at Helm/Navigation.
Prehaps it would be best if we just say you both have control over the weapon systems? Much like in TNG and VOY where both the Tactical, OPs and Command chair could control tactical systems.

Ensign Barbara Gold watched the new officer enter the bridge, introducing himself as Lt.jg Ephrem Santos, the new communication officer. Lieutenant Santos was a medium built man, with dark blonde hair, and had most striking green eyes.
“Welcome aboard sir,” Barbara whispered from the adjoining science station, with Commander KAT down in Engineering, it was Barbara’s role as junior science officer to take the station.
“Thank you Ensign,” Santos answered, “it’s good to be here.”
“I only arrived here yesterday,” Barbara explained, “came aboard from the Starbase, my first assignment since graduating. I am still finding my way around, but if you like later on I could give you a bit of a tour.”
“That would be nice Ensign, thank you,” Santos replied, Barbara noticed that even as they spoke, Santos was busying himself running through his system checks. She had yet to master the skill of talking and working at the same time, much to the annoyance of her Academy lecturers.
“So sir, if you don’t mind me asking, what’s your story?”
OCC: Welcome aboard Lt.jg Santos, sorry it took so long to reply to your post, please feel free to take this plot line anywhere.

Ephrem was glad that the junior officer next to him seemed to be a nice person. As a matter of fact everyone that Ephrem had met turned out to be extremely nice, it almost freaked him out.
“So sir, if you don’t mind me asking, what’s your story?”
"First off don't call me sir, I'm only 23 and sir makes me sound old. My name is Ephrem Sanots, but my friends call me Seth, which is my middle name. I just transferred here from the USS Hood where I was the junior communications officer. I turned down my first promotion because I knew that I wasn't ready. I think really I didn't want to leave the Hood. I loved it there, but once my name came up for promotion again my captain told me to take it and so I'm here. Oh yeah I also have a pet chincilla who's name is Enchilada," Ephrem said quietly while still running his systems check.
"A Chinchilla?" Ensign Gold asked in confusion.
"Its a sort of rodent that has a nice tail and big eyes," Ephrem said smiling knowing that chincillas were rare on Earth.
OCC: Thanks for answering though, and thanks the time gave me a chance to develop Ephrem a bit more.

"Er- well, sir, we got a small bit of hair we hope to get DNA from, but the scan isn't completed yet. It'll take a while. I'll call you when its ready, if Dr. Kwani doesn't." John wasn't used to giving reports on the spot.
"How long do you estimate it will take?"
"I, um, don't really know, sir. At least another hour, possibly three or four. We will at least be able to narrow down the list of possible suspects a bit, assuming this person is a crewmember and his or her records are on file."
"Good. Keep at it."
"Yes, sir." Dr. Kwani was attending to it personally, but John didn't see a reason to inform his superior officer of such a detail. Besides, John had promised to check in every hour or so. Since he had nowhere better to be, John decided to check back in on Sickbay, where he found Dr. Kwani still working. He offered to help her, but it was a one-man job, and she was probably much better at that sort of thing than John. More experineced, certainly.
Sighing, John returned to his quarters. As far as he knew, Commander Dawkins and Lt. Richards, who John considered his closest friends on the ship, were probably still at work. Suddenly, inspiration struck. Ellington, that crewman that John had met a while back... maybe he wasn't busy. It wouldn't hurt anything to go say hi. John headed to Engineering.

Mira jogged down to the launch systems to give them a manual check. Since this was her first trip aboard a space vessel, and the first time she actually had to do this, she had no clue what to really look for. Right now, she was regretting telling the experienced officer off, as she could use his help right now.
Yet, she knew that if she called for his help, he'd always second guess her, and would always hover over her to check on what she was doing. ~I'm nearly 17~ she thought ~I must prove that I can do this on my own~
She went to the nearest communication panel and pressed down the buttion. "Green to bridge, I'm at launch control. I am now going to enter the launch tube to manually check the controls. Please be aware that this may take a while, so don't fire any torpedoes while I'm in there!" She paused. "Until you hear from me, I'm inside the tube!"
<James>
To be on the safe side, she hauled herself into an EV suit, because one never knew what situation could arise and the last thing she needed was to be shot out into space without an environmental suit. ~strange, I shouldn't be scared to do this~ she thought as she plunked a tool kit into the tube then hoisted herself into it as well ~yet my legs feel like rubber~
Carefully, she inched her way forward to the controls that operated the automatic launching system. "There doesn't seem to be anything wrong," she muttered, annoyed that the screen of her helmet was fogging over as she was breathing hard. She didn't like enclosed spaces much, but she liked the notion of accidentally being shot into space even less. "Breathe Mira," she intoned to herself, as she set about to do her work.
To her horror, she saw the launching systems powering up, just as she pulled the panel off. She dropped all her tools and began scrambling back towards the tube's entrance.

Ellington wasn't in Engineering, but John was informed that he might find him in his quarters. On his way, John heard an odd sound coming from the torpedo-launching systems he had just passed. It almost sounded like they were powering up. Must be a drill, he thought.
A few moments later, he stopped - there should be some kind of alarm going off if the torpedos were being armed. The ship should at least be on yellow alert... John turned around, and started jogging back towards the torpdo launch systems. Then he started to run.
**************************************
Mira got to the entrance only to find it locked or blocked in some sort of way from the outside. She looked down the tube. Somewhere in the blackness, a torpedo was waiting to be launched at her. If the impact didn't kill her, or tear her suit, she might survive... she hoped.
Desperate, she started banging on the entrance - now the exit - of the tube.
**************************************
John heard a faint tapping coming from inside the launch tube. He wasn't very well-versed with torpedos and such, but he got the impression that it was a bad idea to be inside the tube when a torpedo was fired. Glancing at the entrance to the tube, John could see it was welded together. Looking around, he saw a phaser on the ground - perhaps the person who was in the tube had set it down. John grabbed in, set it to its narrowest setting, and began to cut a hole the tube's entrance. It was like a very crude, easy surgery - soon, John had finished his circle and popped the entrance door in. Mira jumped out the entrance as the tube finished powering up.
"Come on, let's get out of here!" she shouted, heading for the exit.
"Why?" asked John. No one was in the tube. It should be perfectly safe on the outside.
"Because that tube has a hole in it, and- oh, I don't have time to explain it to you. Come on!" The young woman seemed very agitated, so John hurried out of the room. As soon as both of them were out, Mira locked the door. They heard the torpedo fire, and less than a second after that, the door bulged out, cracking in various spots.
"See?" said Mira. "That hole in the tube might have been big enough to change the torpedo's course into the room, or run it into the wall. Luckily, whoever launched it probably didn't arm it."
"Oh," said John, feeling rather stupid. He probably should have paid more attention in those classes that had to do with starships and such. Even if he had been thinking about basic physics, he should have realised the danger.

RJ: OK Chief ( RJ turned to the bridge duty engineer) Ensign get someone down to the forward launchers to help the Chief she doesn't seem to be following the two man rule for tube entry.
Eng: Sir I am showing a missing torp from inventory.
RJ: Missing? (James moved to the engineering station) I have a bad feeling about this. INTRUDER ALERT ; security to forward Torpedo room damage control to condition yellow, Capitan to the bridge. Bridge to Chief Green, Chief answer me ; Kat give me a reading of the forward torpedo room can you tell if the Chief is in there and if there is a torpedo in the tube?
*Just then there was a rumble and the deck vibrated the alert lights went from yellow to red*
Eng: Explosion forward torpedo room.
James: Get a medical team down there and initiate damage control also go to intruder alert baker.
*Two armed security guards stepped out of the lift and one handed James a phaser.*
James: Thanks have your men begin a deck by deck sweep I want this intruder found before anything else happens.
Sec Guard: Aye sir.

All blood had drained from Mira's face, and she stood clinging to the chief nurse in fear. If he hadn't walked by and had heard her banging, she would not be standing there alive and able to tell the tale.
"Who would do such a thing?" she said, her voice shaking. She let go of the nurse briefly but grabbed hold of him again when she felt her legs were feeling like rubber and would not support her weight.
Just then, security came charging into the room, demanding a report.
"I was working on the launching systems," Mira explained, still pale-faced, "and I heard something. When I uncovered the control panel, I saw the torpedo launch system was powering up. As fast as I could I tried to get out, but I couldn't as the door was welded shut from the outside." She beckoned to Mann. "If Mr Mann hadn't passed by and rescued me, I'd be dead now."

"Sir, we have no idea what chips have been stolen yet, and with that we can't trace them. When we find out what is missing though, then maybe we will be able to trace them further, but it might be too late by then. Several of the other chips were smashed, and it might take awhile before we figure out what was stolen. I am going to have an engineer composite all the broken chips, and try to find out what is missing. While that is happening, I would like to see what the computer has for me. It just might have a listing of who was in that room last, with your permission of course sir." She says wondering what she would find with this.

Kat walks out of the sensor area and over to a computer, wondering exactly who had been in that room since last mission. She pulled up the date of the last mission, and using the sensors for that room, she pulls up several names of people who had been in that room since then. She isn't surprised at how long the list is, and is a little relieved to see only ten people on it. She transfers the list over to a padd, and enters the sensor area again.
"Do we have any idea about whose hair and DNA we have found?" She says wanting an update, as she had been away for about an hour.

All blood had drained from Mira's face, and she stood clinging to the chief nurse in fear. She'd been acting fine under pressure - probably a rush of adrenaline - but now looked very shaken.
"Who would do such a thing?" she said, her voice shaking. She let go of the nurse briefly but grabbed hold of him again. John felt a little nervous himself, having almost gotten himself killed by not realising the danger of the open torpedo torpedo tube, but to have been stuck inside one... that probably would have shaken up just about anyone.
Security came charging into the room, demanding a report, to which Mira replied, "I was working on the launching systems, and I heard something. When I uncovered the control panel, I saw the torpedo launch system was powering up. As fast as I could I tried to get out, but I couldn't as the door was welded shut from the outside." She beckoned to Mann. "If Mr Mann hadn't passed by and rescued me, I'd be dead now." John blushed slightly.
"Come with us," said one of the two security guards. "We're looking for the person who probably trapped you inside there," he said, guesturing to the mangled door. "We'll escort you off this deck."
*******************************************
"Do we have any idea about whose hair and DNA we have found?" asked KAT.
"Oh, Dr. Kwani was just here, sir," said one of the officers there.
KAT sighed and tapped her commbadge. "KAT to Dr. Kwani. Have you got the scan finished?"
=^=Yes, I do. I wasn't able to pinpoint the person, but I've narrowed the list down to 23 people. We'll need to have a senior staff meeting soon, to discuss my findings, and everyone else's. I was about to go give my report to the Bridge. =^=

Curie stormed back onto the bridge, he had a brief conversation with the teams down in Engineering, but now it looked like matters were getting worse, far worse.
“Report,” he said, as he took his seat.
“Chief Green was manually checking the torpedo tubes, we have just registered an explosion in her location, medical and security teams have been dispatched.” RJ reported, taking his own place at the helm.
“Bridge to Chief Green,” Curie called into the intercom system, “please respond.”
A few seconds passed before Green’s voice cam over the speakers, she sounded shocked, scared, and very shaken up.
“Captain, a torpedo started to launch not long after I entered the tube, when I tried to escape, I found the door jammed, thankfully Nurse Mann realised what was happening and rescued me.”
“Are you ok?” Curie asked.
“She is as well as can be expected,” Nurse Mann answered, “although we have some rather large holes in the corridors now.”
Curie said a silent prayer that no one had been injured, then turned his attention back to what was happening.
“Do we know what happened?” he asked, to the bridge crew and the team down by the torpedo tube.
“I believe we have an intruder sir,” RJ answered, “I have already dispatched security teams.”
“Very good Commander,” Curie said, nodding his head approvingly.
“Captain,” this time it was Kat’s voice coming over the channel, clearly, her, Mann and Green were all together.”
“Go ahead Commander,” Curie replied.
“I have complied a list of suspect’s sir,” KAT answered, “I was just on my way to speak to you.”
Curie and RJ both exchanged glances; this was the first step they had to finding who was doing all this.
“Then get to the bridge, on the double Commander,” Curie ordered, “Nurse Mann, Chief Green, please join us, that is, if Chief Green is able of course.”
“On our way,” the three officers answered together, closing the channel.
OCC: Not much I know, but we can do more when we are all together.

The conversation Ephrem was having with Ensign Gold ended aburptly as news came in of an explosion on the ship. Then as if it took to long to get to the bridge Ephrem felt a slight shutter. Repots were coming in to Captain Curie, and amazingly he was doing his best to keep his composure something that Ephrem thought was very hard at the moment.
"Sir I'm getting reports from the medical teams and the security teams," Ephrem reported.
"Okay go ahead," Captain Curie said.
"The medical teams have found five other people, they are all in critical conditions and the security team has found nothing so far," Ephrem said.
"Okay keep me updated Lt.," the Captain ordered.
"Aye sir," Ephrem said. Ephrem never thought that someone could do this. He knew that there were bad people, very bad people, but why would you target innocent people. This thought disturbed Ephrem a lot, but he knew it wasn't the time to think about the human mind.

The turbolift doors opened and Captain Curie turned, surprised that Mira, John, and KAT had gotten to the Bridge so quickly. However, it was Dr. Kwani, not the expected three officer, who stepped out. She held up the results of her most recent test like a trophy.
"I've narrowed our list of possible suspect, Captain," she said happily. "Want to know what's really interesting?"
"What?" asked the Captain, glad for firm evidence.
"There are actually 24 people whose hair this could have been. But I've narrowed the list of suspects down to 23, because you were on duty when the latest incident occured. You are accounted for during every other incident as well, according to computer records. And you probably don't want to blow up your own ship."
"Well, I'm very glad you've been so successful. Give the list to security, and they'll round 'em up." The Captain thought for a moment. "Do you have any idea who it is?"
"No, I just had time to clear you, when it became apparent that it could have been your hair. I doubted you'd be responsible," replied Dr. Kwani.

Mira and Mann followed the security guards off the deck, but then suddenly Mira stopped short. "But the controls!" she sputtered, "and my suit!" She gazed from the chief nurse to the guards. "If we leave there and don;t leave anyone to look out, then this person may get at the torpedo controls. I wasn't able to lock them down to James' console yet!"
Panic was visible on her young face as the guards stopped her from going back. She walked on shaking legs as security escorted them to the bridge, holding on tightly to Mann's supporting arm, fearing that as soon as she'd have to stand on her own, her legs wouldn't hold her.
When they reached the bridge at long last, she collapsed in the nearest chair, and broke out in sobs. "I'm not cut out for this," she murmured.

Curie looked up as KAT, Nurse Mann and Chief Green all walked back onto the bridge, he noticed that Green in particular looked exhausted, and she collapsed into a nearby chair, sobbing.
Dr. Kwani immediately hurried over to the young woman, putting a reassuring arm over her.
“Report,” Curie said to the other officers, eager to keep there attention on the tasks at hand.
“I have a list of suspects Captain,” KAT reported, handing Curie a large padd, “I have narrowed the list down considerably.”
“Very good Commander,” Curie replied, reading over the padd, “a lot of the people on this list match Dr. Kwani’s list.”
At the mention of her name, the Doctor looked up, giving Chief Green a pat on the shoulders, she returned to the group.
“We should work together on this KAT,” she said, taking the padd from Curie to review, “we may be able to narrow things down even further.”
“Good idea Doctor,” Curie said approvingly, “get on it.”
“Captain, sorry to interrupt,” RJ said from the helm, “but we have arrived at New Bath.”
Curie nodded to the officers infront of him, and then turned his attention to the forward viewscreen.
“Take us into a low orbit Commander,” he ordered, sitting back down in his chair, “Ensign Santos hail the Governors office, and inform them of our arrival, and our attention to beam down.”
“Aye aye sir,” Ensign Santos replied, lifting his ear piece to his ear.
“RJ, prepare a landing party,” Curie continued to order, “myself, you, Chief Green, to be included.”
“Yes sir,” RJ replied, leaving the bridge to prepare for the upcoming trip to the planet.
“Nurse Mann, Dr. Kwani, and Commander KAT, continue investigating our unwanted guests, Lt. Richards will assist you.”
All three officers nodded there agreement, leaving Curie to just give Ensign Santos a task.
“Ensign contact the Ambassador’s quarters and inform him we are beaming down,” Curie ordered, “then get yourself ready to join the landing party.”
With everyone clear on what they were doing, Curie left the bridge in the care of the duty officer, and exited through the turbolift. As the doors closed he wondered how much longer he would be able to keep up the act, he was so close to the end of his mission, he couldn’t let anything stop him now…

Lieutenant William Richards was still down in Engineering when the call came from the bridge, most of the senior staff were beaming down to the planet, and Richards was being ordered to join forces with Nurse Mann and Commander KAT in there investigations.
Finishing up his tasks, Richards hailed Nurse Mann from the nearest comm unit.
“What’s going on then John?” Wills asked as he opened the channel.
“More explosions,” John Mann answered, “Captain wants us to continue to investigate while he is planetside.”
“Let’s meet up in the Conference room,” Wills suggested, “we can all compare notes there.”
“Sounds like a plan to me,” Mann answered, “we will meet you there.”
The turbolift seemed to take ages to arrive, and when it finally did, Wills found it packed with junior officers. Making sure to hide the contents of his padd from them, Wills instructed the lift to take him to the conference room.
He wasn’t surprised upon arriving to find the others - John, KAT, and Dr. Kwani all waiting for him.
“So what we have got so far?” Wills asked, as they all took there seats.
OCC: OK, if we npc KAT and Dr. Kwani, then we should be able to have us a little meeting.

Mira and Mann followed the security guards off the deck, but then suddenly Mira stopped short. "But the controls!" she sputtered, "and my suit!" She gazed from the chief nurse to the guards. "If we leave there and don't leave anyone to look out, then this person may get at the torpedo controls. I wasn't able to lock them down to James' console yet!"
"There's people looking for the person who trapped you in there," said John. "I'm sure that no one else is going to go in there for a while without permission." He wasn't very experienced in counciling, and wasn't sure if talking would help Mira or make her feel worse.
When they reached the bridge, Mira collapsed in the nearest chair, and broke out in sobs. "I'm not cut out for this," she murmured.
Before John had a chance to respond to the statement, Captain Curie stood up. "Report."
********************************************* Later... “So what we have got so far?” Wills asked, as they all took their seats.
"Well, after comparing notes," started KAT, "Dr. Kwani and I narrowed the list down to seventeen possible suspects, assuming the person responsible for all of this is just one person and is an officer on this ship. Now, based on where these officers were supposed to be, we've narrowed the list down even more..." KAT handed a PADD to Wills. "Eleven of those seventeen suspects were around multiple people during at least one incident, leaving six as the most likely suspects."
"They're all male," said Dr. Kwani. "I was able to determine that from the hair."
"And one of them shouldn't be on the list," protested John. "Joe Ellington, who's an engineer, is a very nice, friendly person. Ask Commander Dawkins."
"Perhaps we should question these six men," said Wills. "We'd have the person responsible in custody. The bad part about that, though, is the possibility that the criminal might clamp up and not admit to anything. We'd never know what they were doing, or why. And we might not have enough evidence to do more than get him out of Starfleet."
"I think getting him in the brig is the best plan," said John. "Ellington will be cleared, and the criminal will not be able to attack anyone anymore."
"The other thing I want to know," said Dr. Kwani, "is why Karr hasn't come down for his physical yet."
No one spoke for a moment.
"I haven't seen him for a while," commented Wills.
"Never met him," said KAT.
"Is that really a bad thing?" asked John. "I got more than enough of him when he first came on board."
"It could be a bad thing," said Dr. Kwani. "I don't know what's going on, but we should definitely check in on Karr as soon as we're finished here. Just to make sure one of those six men haven't done anything to him..."

“I agree with the Doc,” Wills said, “for all we know Karr could be laying dead in his quarters.”
There was again an eerie silence as everyone thought over those words. Wills looked down again at the list of suspects, besides Ellington, he didn’t really know the others. one of the suspects, Malcolm Burnwell was one of the transporter ops, which meant he would have the engineering knowledge to carry out the attacks, but would he have the clearance?
That was what kept bugging Wills, whoever was doing this would need to have the right clearance levels to be able to reach the sections of the ships that had been damaged.
“So should we try and set bait with Ellington?” KAT asked, “See if anything else happens when we have him in the brig.”
“I still think it’s the best option,” John said, “At least if nothing else it may allow us to take him off the list.”
“OK, I’ll go pay him a visit after we are done here,” Wills said, “what about the other suspects?”
“Twenty four hour surveillance,” Dr. Kwani said.
“But what if none of these six are the person we want?” KAT asked.
“Then by watching them, and having Ellington in the brig, we will know its none of them,” Wills said. He didn’t add the bet they all feared, that if none of these six were the saboteur then something even worse could happen.
“We should start arranging for crewmembers to report to sickbay so we can test them,” John said suddenly, “it will give us the best chance to compare DNA, maybe ask a few questions as well.”
“That’s a good idea,” Wills said, “but how would we explain the trips to sickbay?”
“We could say a case of flu has broken out,” Dr. Kwani said, “as we scan them, we can record anymore detail we will need, even a lie detector.”
“Sounds like a plan,” Wills said, “If you and John get to work on that, me and KAT will go pay Mr. Ellington a visit, and arrange the surveillance of the others.”
“What about Karr?” John asked.
“Make him the first person you examine,” Wills said, as he got up from his chair, “we will meet back up in a few hours.”
Everyone followed Wills example, and left the small conference room, each hoping that the danger facing the ship would soon pass.

Still shaking, Mira left the bridge with RJ and stepped into the turbolift. Silently, she wiped the tears from her face, feeling thoroughly embarassed. RJ not saying a word didn't help matters too much either. She got off at the deck her quarters were on to prepare for the landing team.
She stepped into her quarters, and disappeared straight into her bathroom to check out her appearance. "I'm a mess!" she exclaimed, shocked at her own reflection. She was looking pale and her eyes were all blotchy and red, showing quite visibly that she'd been crying earlier. Quickly, she reached for her make-up and started to freshen herself up. She straightened her uniform and smiled wanly at her reflection. "Much better."
Next, she pulled out a phaser and attached it to her utility belt along with her communicator. Then she checked whether her tricorder was functional and made sure the storage compartment contained enough spare record disks, and that there was one in the slot to record instant readings.
After she was done, she made her way down to the transporter room, and she noticed she was actually the first to arrive. Quietly, she stood watching the transporter chief, as she waited for RJ and Curie to arrive.
<soz, dunno where to go with this really.....>

*RJ watched the young Chief leave the turbo-lift; wondering if she would be OK for the landing party. He would have to keep an eye on her. Entering his room he changed his Uniform shirt and added a weapon harness before putting on a new shirt. The weapon harness held a mek'tlh or short sword in the middle of his back as well as a phaser one under the arm. Adding a phaser 2 to his belt and a communicator he left for the transporter room. Entering the transporter room RJ found Chief Green already there looking much more in control and ready for duty.*
RJ: Good Chief you are here. Do not take this wrong; but if you feel you are not up for this landing party, let me know and I will replace you with nothing held against you.

I only bring this up because you have not been cleared by medical after the launcher incident. I am required by regulations to ask. I have every confidence you will do fine but it is up to you to let me know how you feel.
