“Your late,” Commander S’reena Hope said sternly, as the silver turbolift doors whisked opened, “the transportees were ready ten minutes ago.”
“Good morning to you too Commander,” Paul Drew said, stepping out of the turbolift, “did no one ever tell you it is a Captain’s prerogative to be late?”
S’reena did not bother to reply, instead she merely rolled in her eyes in a frustrated motion, before handing three padds to Drew. One continued details of the new mission the Hanson was to be sent on, the other two details of the new instructors and cadets being assigned to the ship.
“Two new instructors,” Drew said, quite pleased to see the new assignments, “Navigation, and finally a Marine!”
“Daya will be pleased,” S’reena said, as she followed Drew down the corridor towards the transporter room, “he has his hands full enough with the Security cadets.”
“Speaking of which, according to this, we have no new security cadets yet,” Drew said, scanning the other padd in mock shock.
“Oh, I am sure they will appear,” S’reena answered in a light tone, “they always do.”
Drew chucked at his first officer’s joke as he continued to read details of the new Cadet’s being assigned to his command. Each Cadet’s record was most impressive from the Academy, they appeared to be a promising group.
“What about our mission?” S’reena asked, trying to glance at the third padd containing the briefing.
“Look’s routine,” Drew replied, “they want us to test out some new systems on a long range cruise.”
“That sounds better than last time.” S’reena said happily as they arrived at the doors to the transporter room. Drew wasn’t surprised, considering he was late, to see that the rest of the ship’s senior staff had already gathered to welcome aboard the new crew members.
Drew nodded politely at Brelev, Daya and Reynolds, before stopping to face the transporter padds.
Handing the three padds to a nearby Ensign, Drew stood smartly to attention, and then gave the order to energise.
Seconds later, six solid shapes began to form on the transporter padd, four of which formed slightly nervous looking Cadet’s, who seemed to stiffen smartly to attention before the beam had even released them. The other two beams formed two slightly older people, both wearing Starfleet uniforms.
“Welcome to the Hanson,” Drew said in a welcoming voice, “I am the Captain of this vessel, Rear Admiral Paul Drew, and this,” he said pointing to S’reena, “is my First Officer, Commander First Class S’reena Hope.”
S’reena nodded as way of greeting to the new arrivals.
“Cadets, these are your new instructors,” Drew continued, indicating the crew stood behind him, and the two on the transporter padd, “they will be your guides for your time on Hanson, and will be able to help you in anyway you need.”
The three instructors behind Drew all smiled encouragingly at the Cadet’s on the transporter padd, which seemed to relax the group slightly.
“Lieutenants Shinsei and Methos, Commander Hope here will show you both your quarters, and give you a brief tour of the ship.”
“For the Cadets, Commanders Reynolds, Brelev and Lieutenant Daya will be showing you to your quarters, and giving you a slightly more detailed tour, we will then all meet up within two hours on the bridge, where I will tell you about our upcoming mission.”
“Any questions?” Drew asked, finishing his speech, when no one answered, he smiled encouragingly and said, “in that case, consider yourselves dismissed.”
His job done, Drew quickly made an exit for the door, he wanted to give the new and old crew time to get to know one another without his presence around. He would have his chance to get to know the new recruits in an two hours time on the bridge.
OOC:
Welcome aboard everyone! I thought this would be a nice way to start everything off, and give everyone a chance to get to know one another. I suggest everyone write making new friends, finding their quarters, exploring the ship etc. I suspect we will be having more people join us as the week progresses, so it will be a few days before we take the ship out of spacedock.
To the Cadets, if you have any questions/concerns I can be reached on msn/hotmail. Or you can simply drop me a line over proboards messaging system.
Good luck, and enjoy!

Daya had been standing in the transporter room for quite a few minutes before anyone else had shown up, he was a bit anxious to see if he had any new cadets. He talked with the engineer on hand until some others arrived, and then minged with them a bit.
When everyone else had arrived, Daya waited for the Admiral and Commander to show up, both a little late. "wonder what they are doing" he said softly to himself. He looked at the door when it opened and nodded at the Admiral, who nodded back.

“Any questions?” Drew asked, finishing his speech, when no one answered, he smiled encouragingly and said, “in that case, consider yourselves dismissed.”
Daya looked at the Marine as he walked by, nodded to him as he stepped by. As he loooked over the cadets, he had the slight notion that there werent any security cadets, 'oh well, i can lend a hand to the marine if he needs it' he thought to himself as he waited for the cadet to walk over.
"My name is Lt. Daya, security tactical instructor here on the Hanson, welcome aboard"

Brelev had been puttering around Sickbay when the Call to meet the cadets in the transporter room came up. Her transfer from Science into Medical had been aprupt. In fact she still was not sure why Angel had left, maybe one ofher pranks had finaly crossed the line. Brelev was fully capable as a CMO, in fact she trained for her first 3 years at the Academy in medicine, but then switched into Science. The two where very similer of course and she did not mind the change. She had served in science for many years, so a change would be nice.
When the cadet's materialised she gave them all a warm smile, sop far there where no medical cadets, and there was a Science cadet, which she found somewhat amusing given as that teaching position was now vacant. Of course S'reena was capable of teaching Science, and she could always lend a hand as well. She listened intently as The Captain greeted the cadets, and wonderd when they would find out teaching assignments. At last they where dismissed with an encouragment to help cadets find their quarters and feel a little more at home. Brelev approched the only cadet in the group with a blue collar. "Hello, My name is Commander Brelev, I teach Medicine here on the Hanson. Which department will you be training in?"
<Tag Jolim Tobius>
"What a pity, I was just in that department myslef when our CMO left. What can I say, a ship is in better shape without a Science offier, but with a doctor then the other way around. I wouldn't worry if I where you tough, There's always someone eager to take in a cadet. Do you know which quarters are yourse yet?"
<Tag Jolim Tobius>
"Oh, and there are no roommates, at leats not usualy. I heard that a year ago there was a computer error which placed two cadets in the same room. It didn't go over well, they where a Cardassian Tactical Cadet and a Bajoran Medical ca..." Brelev suddenly noticed the faint ridges on the Cadet's nose and her earring. 'Oh, I'm sorry, I can get carried away a bit. I find Xenophysology fasinating."

Methos was in his temp. quarters on SB Conqueror when he got the call to go to the transporter room. He quickly gathered his belongings and left the room.
When he got to the transporter room, Mattimeo was already there. "Good Morning Cadet, have you decided which career field you will be going in?" Methos asked.
<Kane>
"I see, well, I hope you all the best in that," Methos said.
The two made small talk until everyone else arrived. When it was time for the transport to happen, nothing happened.
I wonder what's taking so long, Methos thought. 10 minutes later, he felt the familar sensation of being transported.
When they materialized, Methos saw that all of the senior staff/instructors were there. He listened to Drew's welcome speech. Afterwards he got off the pad and walked with Commander Hope. As she guided them around the ship, Methos asked, "Ma'am what is the Marine compliment of the ship?"
<S'reena>
He nodded to her response. After the tour of the ship, Commander Hope took Lt. Shinsei and Methos to their quarters and told them to be on the Bridge for the briefing in 1 and 1/2 hours. He nodded and entered his quarters. He put his clothes away and started putting his other belongings where they would look good. He put his long sword on the wall near the replicator and he put the short bow on the wall next to the door.
~~~~~~~~~~~~1.5 Hours later.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Methos entered the bridge and waited for the briefing to start.
Matti was way to eager toget his training over with. He showed up at the transporter room almost two hours before he was told to be there.
<Calm yourself and pay attention to everything that you see. When the time comes you may have to react instantly. They may have a test first thing. You will do your best. You will not fail. Calm yourself.>
Matti looked up as he heard the door open.
"Yes Sir. And no sir. I would like to train as a Counciler, but if my information is correct there isn't one on board. So for the imediate future I will be training as a Marine." Matti replied.
Shortly after the arrival of Lt. Methos the other cadets began to arrive. Some He recognized, others he did not. Matti was coutious and greeted each as they came in the door. When the time came to step onto the transporter, everyone got on and waited. The Engineer behind the consol was pushing buttons and had a look of shock and perplexity on his face. Almost as soon as he was going to ask if something was wrong, the tingling began.
Upon rematerializing on the ship, the group was greeted by the group of people who would be known as our instructors. The Admiral introduced himself and his staff. He then proceeds to leave the transporter room after handing us over to his staff.
<I have to admit he seems to know what he is doing. By leaving us together with our instructors he is giving us a chance to learn about each other in the limited time before he gets his chance to do the same. Smart man. It gives him a short amount of time to go over our records for any last minute details that might be of interest.>
As he started to walk towards the door, Matti was aproached by a familiar face.
"Nice to see you again Lt. Daya. I am looking forward to this mission and having a chance to learn some more about you. Hopefully we can both learn from each other." Matti replied to the welcome from the Lt. "I don't mean to be rude but would show the way to the rooms now please. I would like to unpack and relaxe a little before the briefing."
S'reena motioned for Shinsei and Methos to please follow her, though she noted Brelev had already acquainted herself with the science cadet. Since the Denobulan had taken over sickbay, S'reena assumed that she herself would probably be tutoring the cadet. Before rising to the position of first officer, S'reena herself had been the Hanson's science instructor.
"Ma'am what is the Marine compliment of the ship?"Methos suddenly asked.
"I wouldn't know lieutenant," The Romulan replied, "I didn't really take a headcount before you came aboard. We've had marine cadets training with us, but as far as I'm concerned Lieutenant Daya managed them all. I daresay asking him would give you a safer guess than mine."
>Methos<
Now, S'reena turned to Shinsei, who so far hadn't spoken up. "What made you go into navigation?" she asked, just to see whether the woman was in for some small talk. The Romulan was glad to see more women aboard the Hanson, as there had been a time where she'd been the only female instructor. And with Brelev now moved to sickbay, that didn't leave many women to talk and relate to either.
>Shinsei<
"Well mr Methos, these are your quarters," S'reena interrupted Shinsei's story, "Ms Shinsei, yours are a few doors down the corridor, we'll get there in a minute."
>Methos/shinsei<
As she saw the transporter room coming into focus, she could make out several smiling faces. Her stomach lurched, transporter travel always made her feel slightly nervous.. “keep calm” she told herself repeatedly. The collar of her newly appointed blue topped uniform felt awfully tight against her throat, still she stood to attention regardless. Listening intently to the Captain she felt more at ease with the words of encouragement and the friendly faces that still greeted her and her fellow cadets. As the Captain dismissed them and set about his business, she was approached a Commander. Listening enthusiastically as Commander Brelev introduced herself, Jolim replied;
“Pleasure Commander Brelev, my name is Jolium Tobius. Im very happy to say that I will be training in the Science Department”
As the conversation continued it occured to Jolim that her first day wasn't as scary as she had thought, nodding as she listened to Brelev and then replying;
“well Commander, I hope I can learn enough to help the ship with equal respects to both. I haven’t been assigned any quarters yet, or indeed been advised where to find them! Will it just be myself being assigned to my quarters?”
As Brelev talked, she could feel herself blush ever so slightly “I know I appear more human than Bajoran so no offence taken Commander, I for one find it fascinating myself and I thank the prophets I am now more accepting of our Cardassian brothers than I once was.” Hoping this put the commander as ease slightly,
Jolim ventured “would it be possible, Commander, to be shown my quarters, I feel the need to freshen up before we are to attend the briefing”…
"sure thign cadet, as soon as the others are ready." Daya took a quick look around, "ok, looks like we are ready, Commanders, I'll take Cadet Kane here, and Cadet Tagert, if you dont mind" he said looking at the other two officers. <tag Kane, Tagert, Breleve, Reynolds> "ok, lets get going" Daya said leading the way out the door. First he took them on a tour of the ship, showing the different departments, and the places for gathering and what not. Answering questions directed towards himself and ship, Daya kept walking and showing the different places. "Ok, and now the crew quarters, i belive Cadet Tagert is on this deck, and Kane, yours is on the next one up" <Kane, Tagert> ooc: Daya I modified your colour tag...changing an = into ] Just so you know what I modified
Daya asked about taking two of the cadets under his wing, a cadet Kane and Tagert. "It's fine with me Daya, none of them land even remotly in my department." Jolim ventured “would it be possible, Commander, to be shown my quarters, I feel the need to freshen up before we are to attend the briefing”… Brelev was overjoyed that her slip of the tongue had not offended the young women. "Of course you can, Let me check where you will be." Brelev walked over the a console on the wall and pulled up the quarter assignments. "you on on Deck Five, quarter number 517. They like to place crewman close to their respective areas of the ship, and the labs are only a short walk away. They can be a little picky about who they open up to at this stage so I'll take you there and make sure they don't give you a hard time. It's one deck down from here." <Tag Jolim Tobius> As they left the transporter room Brelev found herself looking back hoping another blue collared cadet would materialise, not that she would mind having a break, the last mission had been taxing and it was her first time teaching. But she was finally starting to feel confident about this and it seemed that she was contacting well with Cadet Tobius. "Here we are, State your name and code, it should open for you and then recougnise you in the future. My Quarters are on Deck 2, number 237 if you have any questions. Although I rarely use them to do anything so you are more likely to find me in sickbay or the hydroponics bay. I believe, to the best of my knowledge, that Commander Hope will be your intructer, but there is always room for change. Do you have any questions yet?" Brelev asked, she would meet the other cadet later when she called them for their physicals and was pretty confident that they would meet up with one instructer or another for guidence. <Tag Jolim Tobius>
Jason was happy that the Hanson would be going on mission so quickly. It would give him time to forget about Angel. If he was busy there would be no time to think about personal things.
These thoughts had been on Jason's mind most of the day and it amazed him when he realized that he was alone with a couple of the instructors and some cadets. Jason had heard that there might be an operations cadet, but he was not sure. Hopefully he would have someone as good as Farsir, but he wasn't worried about that.
The Academy always sent the best cadets to the Hanson and Hepta, something that Jason was very happy about.
"Well Cadets, I'm sorry about this, but I will have to excuse myself," Jason said," I need to find out if I have a cadet this mission. If I find them and your still on your tour we will join you."
<Tag others>
Jason made his exit and made his way towards Conqueror. He knew that he could just check on the Hanson, but he wanted to meet with his cadet face to face.
After waiting for twenty minutes, no one showed up. When he checked the list again it read that the cadet had changed to science.
Jason sadly made his way back to the Hanson and went on a hunt looking for some cadets.
Jolim was happy to hear that her quarters were close to the science labs, as a workaholic she felt that the closer she was, the better it would be for her training. Making a mental note of the deck and quarter numbers she replied “That’s much appreciated, thank you commander.” Leaving the transporter bay, she found it odd that the other science cadet had not joined them for this first briefing, but put it down to paperwork, she knew her fellow cadet would be joining soon and the best thing she could do was to get acquainted to the ship and labs so she could be as much help as possible.
as they reached their destination, Brelev asked “Do you have any questions yet?"
“Only one commander” replied Jolim, “will I be meeting Commander Hope after the briefing?”
Nodding at brelevs answer, and wishing her “good day” Jolim headed into her quarters.
They were far more spacious than she had thought they would be, she placed her few belongings, including her mothers’ bellaclavion down and replicated herself a much needed coffee. She was feeling pensive concerning switching her training to science, Ops had been her main ambition, yet she had been advised that science was a move that would be beneficial… “I wonder if I could swap training if I find out im not cut out for science” she pondered…“still only an hour until briefing” she said to herself. She unpacked and made sure her appearance was suitably smart, before she headed out to the Bridge for the briefing from the Captain.
Brelev asked “Do you have any questions yet?" “Only one commander” replied Jolim, “will I be meeting Commander Hope after the briefing?” "You will be formally meeting your instructor then yes. However, much to my pleasant surprise, there is another Science cadet on the rooster. Since it would be unrealistic to expect Commander Hope to take on both of you, I will be leaving the confines of sickbay to insure everyone gets someone on one time with an instructor. Whether or not you will be assigned to Commander Hope or Myself is up to the Captain and the Commander." Brelev replied, she had to admit she was stumped about this sudden boost in popularity for her old position. Not that it was a bad thing, she just found it amusing. "What is the other Science cadet's name?" Jolim asked. Brelev could understand her interest. "Let me see." Brelev pulled out the PaDD she's been given containing the cadet information. "Cadet Aerial L. Fraugg, I don't believe she has arrived yet. I wouldn't worry about Bridge time, there are plenty of things for a Science officer to do around the ship so you will remain very busy. Anyway, I really should go and make sure that there really are no Medical cadets and set up any outstanding physicals." Jolim wished her a good day, and Brelev headed back to sickbay feeling a great deal more confident about this mission then the last one. Sickbay was quite apart from Doctor Hope, The Commander's Husband, who served as the ship's Pediatrician. Brelev expected this consisted mainly looking after the Hope Children, now at five, but there where other children on board as well. "Big crop?" Micheal Hope asked, looking up from where he was working. Brelev always felt a little awkward around him, most likely this was due to the uneasy relationship between herself and his wife who'd given her a stern talking to last mission about encouraging Angel's pranks. "As always, and the real shocker is we have more science cadets then tactical cadets." Brelev laughed as she sifted through the cadet's medical records. "And so far no one in medical, So I might need you to pick up the reigns a bit in here so I can give S'reena a hand." "I suppose I can do that." Michael replied. Brelev assumed that would be alright with him, and if he did need assistance there where always the nurses and the EMH. "I'll be heading to the briefing soon and then I'm going to meet with the cadets to make sure these..." Brelev gestured to the medical files. "...are up to date."
“Lieutenants Shinsei and Methos, Commander Hope here will show you both your quarters, and give you a brief tour of the ship.”
Crystal nods slightly, a little reassured that someone would be showing her her quarters, she had been a little worried that as an instructor she would simply be able to find her way around the ship. “Thank you,” Crystal says to Commander Hope.
"What made you go into navigation?" Commander Hope asks
Crystal smiles slightly at the Commander. “Well, I figure that I already know how to keep a shuttle from crashing, it shouldn't be much harder for a larger ship. Seriously though, I guess I just thought I could be useful in it, and I did already know a fair bit about it. Although then I went through the academy, so now I know more than a fair bit about it. I guess I just want to make sure the ship is in the hands of someone I trust.”
"Well mr Methos, these are your quarters," S'reena interrupts, "Ms Shinsei, yours are a few doors down the corridor, we'll get there in a minute."
Crystal arrives at her quarters, then drops her bag on her bed before returning to the corridor. “What were you before you became a first officer?” she asks Commander Hope, since Lieutenant Methos hadn't returned quite yet
S'reena smiled wistfully. "When I first came aboard the Hanson, I was assigned as the science instructor. I don't think I've held that position for more than a year though, but I admit sometimes I miss it."
“Oh,” Crystal says, already feeling that she has surpassed her field of expertise. She knows very little about science, just enough to know that there is little chance of her being able to ever learn it fully. Her formal education had ended at twelve, and her parents had had plans to continue her education, but then they had died when she was fifteen. In Starfleet Academy Crystal had picked up a little more science, but she hadn't been able to follow any of the classes. A few of her teachers were willing to try to catch her up to speed, but it hadn't quite worked the way they had planned.
Rather than just letting the silence hang though, Crystal attempts another smile. “Was it interesting?” she asks, but hopes that Commander Hope talks about science in general, rather than going into specifics that Crystal wouldn't be able to understand.
"Interesting?" The Romulan gazed intently at the new navigations instructor. "Well discovering new things is always interesting....the fun and thrill of exploration. And of course meeting people of new species, though I think not everyone can be defined as people, sometimes creature is a more proper word don't you agree?"
She opens up the door to Shinsei's new quarters. "Here we are. I trust you'll be able to figure things out for yourself? I am needed on the bridge."
<Shinsei>
After a final nod, S'reena walks off and heads back to the bridge to welcome another new arrival: Cadet Fraugg. Upon arrival on the bridge, she found the cadet waiting for her. "Greetings cadet, I apologize to keep you waiting. Have you been shown to your quarters yet?
<Fraugg>
As one of the Cadets came into clear view of the transporter room, it was obvious he wasn't feeling very comfortable in these new surroundings for some reason. His name was Ian Arika and he stands about five foot eleven off the ground and has somewhat long brown hair compared to the typical male. His blue eyes could be barely seen through his hair. He walks out of the transporter room, not sure if someone was supposed to greet him or not. He looks around, seeming even more nervous, it didn't seem like he was nervous about meeting new people, but something else was bothering him.
Max ran the preflight warm up on his shuttle. He hadn't had to pack much leaving the starbase, he only had one suitcase that he was using there. The rest was in his little shuttle.
"USS Sky NCC- 673245 requesting flight clearance"
"Starbase here- we require a flight plan."
Max rolled his eyes.
"To the shuttle bay of the USS Hanson. After that, your guess is as good as mine."
He snapped the toggle switch off. God, that felt good. the essential systems were all physical switches- he didn't want them disappearing in a critical situation. The panel was an odd bled of styles really, but it suited Max perfectly.
In front of him, the doors began to open. I guess somebody got the message he thought. working the panel with the touch of years of practice, he eased the ship out of the docking bay, gently manoeuvring to the Hanson.
He typed in a new comm sequence. "Commander Max Smith to Hanson, Permission to dock?"
"Commander Hope to all cadets and instructors, report to your stations and prepare for departure!" S'reena called over the ship's intercom, after making sure that all cadets and instructors had reported in. Strangely enough, their new chief engineer was still missing in action. Yet when she was just about to comment on this to her commanding officer, the Hanson was hailed and their CEO requested permission to come aboard.
S'reena exchanged a curious glance with Paul Drew, then chuckled. "Permission granted commander, and report to engineering once you're aboard. You've a new warp drive to start up, and we're leaving Conqueror in about five minutes so you'd better hurry commander."
<Smith>
Beside her, Drew chuckled too and the two command officer shared a private joke. Finally when instructors and cadets had reported, and at Drew's nod, S'reena turned to the new navigations instructor. "Lieutenant Shinsei, please have one of your two cadets take the helm and take us out of spacedock." She nodded towards Akira and Tagert, who stood beside the console, paying close attention to anything Shinsei was telling them. "One quarter impulse lieutenant," she added, smiling ever so slightly. She had pulled this stunt before, and their previous CNO and cadet had given the proper response. She was going to test if any of these would respond in kind.
<Shinsei/Tagert/Akira>
Turning around, she gazed up at the newly promoted Marine instructor. "Captain Methos, please instruct your cadet to make a security sweep of the ship. Lieutenant Daya, please assist them."
<Methos/Daya/Kane>
Eventually, S'reena got up from her seat and walked up to the science station. Two cadets were standing closely to Commander Brelev, who was filling in until she had to report to sickbay. "Keep a close look on space," she instructed, "report any abnormalties."
<Brelev/Jolim/Fraugg>
The Romulan tapped her combadge. "Engineering, prepare to go to warp!"
<Smith>
ooc: cadets feel free to be inventive. Marines/security you may run a security drill of some sort...go capture a willing NPC by means of tracking down. Science report anything funny you can come up with. Smith when you post us going to warp.....make sure it goes NOT according to any plan? ie....make us go before you actually do anything that should make us go?
"Aye ma'am" Daya said as he as nodded to Methos, "I normally have few teams of personeel set up for stuff like this, we can put the cadet in charge of one of those teams if you wish" <tag Methos>
The fact that he would not be teaching any cadets this mission had made Jason pretty annoyed and sad. He was here to help cadets in the field of operations. ~Oh get over yourself Jason, as long as there some cadets on the Hanson you can help them, or did you forget that you used to be a Tactical officer~
With that thought Jason's mood was uplifted and he made his way towards the bridge. He knew that it would be about time that the Hanson would leave dock and start on the mission. He knew very little about it, but he hoped it would not go like last mission.
"Commander Hope to all cadets and instructors, report to your stations and prepare for departure!" S'reena called over the ship's intercom.
Jason pace quickened as he heard S'reena's message, he did not want to be late again.
When Jason made it to the bridge he noticed that only a few instructors and cadets had made it to the bridge. He wasn't late and so he quietly took his station and waited for departure procedures to begin.
When the helm cadet and instructor made there way towards their station, Jason reported to RA Drew and Commander Hope.
"Captain, all systems show a green light, there is a slight drop in power output from the deflector control, but that is of minimal concern," Jason said reading from his console.
<Tag Drew or S'reena>
Commander Hope acknowledged him and went on with the pre-launch procedures. After every department had reported an all clear, RA Drew ordered the Hanson into warp.
Brelev turned to the cadets on either side of her, she had not even met cadet Fraugg yet. "Alright, so we are going to get to know each other on the run. Cadet Tobius, I will be serving as your guide during the mission. cadet Fraugg, Once S'reena is done her first officer duties she Will be your guide. Now I want one of you to take the consul, either one, both of you will get a turn." she stepped back from the Science station and waited for one of the cadets to volunteer.
<Tag Jolim or Fraugg>
"Thank you. Just run some sensors continually and check anything abnormal with records, if anything funny happens contact myself or S'reena. Now you," Brelev turned to the cadet not seated at the consul, "Will be coming with me for about an hour to play in the lab. I have a few samples in storage you can use to get a better feel for the equipment and most of the Science team will be there so you can try working as a team, Understood?"
<Tag whichever cadet did not take the consul>
"Alright then, when we get back from the lab you two will exchange places." Brelev smiled, this was much better the teaching a tactical cadet things she barely knew. "Let's go, I've got the lab techs ready and waiting."
<Tag Cadet I'm taking to the lab>
Tom Looked over to the Nav.. console drooling in his mind
"I'll do it Mamm Umm if that's ok" Tom could hear his words sounding like a jerk but he didn't care all he wanted was to take the ship out and go to warp for the first time wile he was at the controles.
Crystal quickly drops her stuff off in her quarters, then reports to the bridge, where she figures she'll be most needed. She watches as her cadets show up. Tagert recognizes her and comes over after reporting to the captain, and the other cadet does the same, since he seems to know where the navigations console is, as well as noticing the color of the uniform.
“Hello,” Crystal greets him, inclining her head slightly as a way of semi-formally welcoming him aboard the ship. “I'm Lieutenant Shinsei, your instructor.”
<Tag Arika>
"One quarter impulse lieutenant," Commander Hope adds.
"I'll do it Mamm Umm if that's ok" Cadet Tagert replies.
“Of course, that will be fine,” Crystal says; she likes people volunteering for work, and she also doesn't think she wants to discourage people from responding swiftly to the call of duty. Not that Crystal thinks the other cadet, Arika, wouldn't have said anything, but in some cases the first person to volunteer should be the first person to do the work, though he won't be the only one. Crystal plans to let Tagert take the ship for a while, but then she thinks it would be best if Cadet Arika takes over, to give him some experience on the helm, this helm.
“Just remember, don't crash into the starbase and it all should be fine,” Crystal says with a slight smile, though she hopes that he, or Arika, remember and say something about the fact that one quarter impulse really isn't the best option for the current situation; thrusters would be more conducive to not crashing.
Crystal watches them both closely, and waits for one of them to hopefully come up with an objection to the current plan. If not, she figures that she'll have to say something, or reach over Tagert's shoulder and type in a few swift commands, depending on which way would be most effective.
