"Yessir." Max muttered as the bay doors opened. he darted forward in without the tractor beams and gently steered it into one of the storage bays on the side. As soon as he shut down the craft, a technician started servicing it. "I guess you can't beat the service on a starship" Max quipped.
"Certainly not sir. efficacy means life or death on a starship. You should know that." She replied.
"Indeed I do." Max replied as he started to engineering. ------- Engineering was very organized. there had been some new test components attached to the drive, the controls for which made the actual engineering room look slightly different. Most noticeable was a console hung from the top railing of the warp core. He moved over ans started powering the drive up.
=/\="Engineering, prepare to go to warp!"=/\= "We're ready to Go anytime Captain."
A minute later, the warp board lit up as the core started up. Then the vibration of the deck changed as the ship went to warp.
"Engineering to Bridge. The new drive seems to be..."
The deck suddenly tilted, throwing everybody standing to the wall. the gravity field intensified slightly- Not a good sign. Max tried to get an exterior view, but the sensors weren't functioning properly. only very basic orientation was working, and with out speed, that would tell them nothing. "Smith to bridge. Something's gone wrong, I don't know what yet. we are 13 degrees off course, and I can't tell what speed we're at. Shut us down!"

On the bridge, the senior staff and their cadets were knocked from their seats as suddenly the Hanson acellerated beyond control. S'reena felt gravity increase and she struggled to climb back into her seat, pulling Drew back with her.
"Smith to bridge. Something's gone wrong, I don't know what yet. we are 13 degrees off course, and I can't tell what speed we're at. Shut us down!"
"No kidding," the Romulan muttered, then looked up. "Navigation, full stop!"
<Shinsei/Tagert/Arika....when you guys stop..we're way off course>
Still struggling against gravity, S'reena turned in her seat. "Brelev, Jolim, Fraugg, where are we...scan space for our surroundings. Reynolds, send out probes once we come to full stop."
<Brelev/Jolim/Fraugg/Reynolds>
She exchanged a worried glance with Drew, who struggled to get to his feet and remain some form of dignity and authority. "Smith, what the hell happened!" he demanded, "don't tell me it was our new warp engine. What did you do? We had barely cleared Conqueror before we jumped to warp!"
<Smith>
Meanwhile, S'reena locked gazes with Methos, Daya and Kane. "Start an investigation, as soon as you're able to walk again," she ordered.
<Methos/Daya/Kane>
ooc: cadets come up with anything you please...as long as we're waaaaay off from where we ought to be.

He walks out of the transporter room and is greeted by Shinsei.
“Hello,” Crystal greets him, inclining her head slightly as a way of semi-formally welcoming him aboard the ship. “I'm Lieutenant Shinsei, your instructor.”
He nods to his instructor and says, "Hello, I am Ian Arika."
He begins to make his way to the bridge and sees the other cadet (Tagert) at the helm. "Ah, so I am not the only navigations cadet on this ship?"
He gives a respectful nod and stands behind the seat of the helm. He listens to the order to go to quarter impulse didn't seem like the greatest idea. He gives a nervous glance over to Shinsei and says, "Um... Lieutenant, I don't know if that is the greatest idea..."
As the ships engines had gone crazy and the ship had been rocked, he lost his balance and fell. He looked around to gather his wits as he heard, "Navigation, full stop!"
He jumped up and reached for the control panel and had entered the command to bring the ship out of warp. As the ship pulls out of warp, he looks at the view screen, surprised at what he sees.
ooc: I can't think of where the ship could be, so I'll leave that to Tagert or someone else to decide.

Smith, what the hell happened!" she demanded, "don't tell me it was our new warp engine. What did you do? We had barely cleared Conqueror before we jumped to warp!"
"then what do you want me to tell you?" Smith replied. "I presumed you had activated it from the bridge when we jumped. I cant tell much right now- several of the new drive panels completely shut down when you cut them off. If I could only meet the fool who designed these things..." he tried to wrench the cover off of one of the panels, but it was locked mechanically and magnetically. "Let's just say it wouldn't be pretty. Smith out."
Most of the Hubbub in Engineering had died down, replaced by a frustrated feeling. Max felt the same way, to tell the truth, but kept a neat poker face. Sighing, he turned to his computer and began mapping the data pathways for the new drive. perhaps he would be able to find what happened...
~~I'm a she...not a he:) did a little edit to fix that. S'reena~~

Tom walked over to the nav. console and sat down. The C.O. had told him to go to "1/4 impulse" So he set the controles and said, "1/4 steam sir. " Then akira said with a worried sound in his voice," :-/Um...Lieutenant, I don't know if that is the greatest idea." But it was to late Tom engaged the engiens and the ship kicked into forward motion. Tom was a little scared at the speed but was handling the helm. He herd Akiras' warning but was thinking why would the C.O. tell him to do something wrong? But as the ship exited spacedock doors, Lt' Shinsei reached towards the console to do something but before her hands reached the controles, the ship rocked and went to warp. Tom grabed the console to hold himself up but Shinsei and Akira fell to the deck plates. Freaked out and about to soil his uniform Tom herd the order
"Full stop." So tom mashed the emergency stop button and the ship sceamed to a halt. Toms cheeks turned red and he gave his report."Sir I don't know where we're at but there is a planet bearing 300 mark 15. It's to the port side (left) of the ship, somewhat above the centerline of the vessel."

Daya stood at the tactical station, being without a cadet, he let Methos take the security area for the time being. Everything was going smoothly for short while, then the ship jumped into warp, making everyone lose balance, Daya barely grabbed hold of his console and held on as long as he could.
When the ship stopped abrubtly, Daya straightened his uniform, and looked around, everyone else seemed to be alright, Methos was checking on his cadet, as were the other instructors.
Meanwhile, S'reena locked gazes with Methos, Daya and Kane. "Start an investigation, as soon as you're able to walk again," she ordered.
Daya turned to Methos and Cadet Kane, whiserpering words of encouragement, "Thats, not a good look to get, lets move" Daya said heading towards the doors, whiched slid open.
"Where do you wanna start Methos, or should we ask your cadet?" Daya said looking at both of them. <methos, Kane>

Crystal picks herself up off ground she has fallen to, briefly dusts off her uniform, and leans over Tagert's shoulder to read the results of the console. She glances up at the main viewscreen, which shows an image of a planet. “That should not have happened,” she mutters to herself, before glancing at the two cadets. “Are either of you hurt?” she asks; she knows the falling to the ground hasn't affected her much, but she wants to make sure that if either of the cadets require medical attention, they get it.
<Tag Tagert, Arika>
“For future reference, I believe Cadet Arika had the right idea, impulse is not to be used in dock, just thrusters. That, however, did not cause what just happened, in case that's any consolation,” Crystal says. She doesn't find it very relieving, since they appear to still be who-knows-where, but she guesses that it's a good thing to know why their ship is wherever it is.
<Tag Tagert, Arika>
“Commander, I suggest that when possible we achieve a standard orbit.” Crystal suggests, since this seems like the logical next step to do. She knows that the commander has ordered the ship to a halt, and Crystal even thinks she might understand why the Commander wants to do it, but she is also of the opinion that achieving a standard orbit would help in the deployment of probes and to maintain their current position. Crystal is aware she could be wrong, but if so she figures Commander Hope will simply tell her so, and the cadets would learn that she does make mistakes, which might not be such a bad thing, just in case they aren't already aware of it.

Standing on the bridge looking on as the ship started to depart, Matti lost himself in thought yet again.
<I know something is going to go wrong, but I hope it doesnt happen for a few hours. I would like to get some more time in to look over the ship.>
Suddenly Matti was looking up at the consols from the floor, and his head hurt.
"What the... How did I end up here?" Matti asked himself as he was pulling himself up. Noticing most everything was at an angle now, he heard "Start an investigation, as soon as you're able to walk again.".
"Don't look at me. I dont know anything about investigations. If there is something to shoot then I'm your man. I would have to think like I want this ship to be 'broke' for lack of a better word. That would mean communications, movement such as engines and transporters, medical, and possibly any caches onboard of emergency supplies and weapons. If I was a sabatour I would think to start in engineering or any access ports near there. If it was a 'accedent' with the engine, I would start in engineering. So we should head to Engineering. That would be my guess. I suggest that we do a sweap of the decks on the way down there, focusing on the labs and storage rooms on D 2, the torpedo and turbo lift maintenance on D 3, the transporter rooms, aft torpedos and phaser maintenance on D 4, sickbay and labs on D 5, the spare deflector and computer on D 6, all of D 7,D 8,D 9, and D 10. What do you think?" Matti stated bluntly.

“Aye, Ma’am. We’ll conduct a security sweep after we depart,” Methos said in reply to the commander and Lt. Daya.
Methos had heard the order to take the ship out and saw the cadet at the helm begin to take the ship out at ¼ impulse. All of a sudden, the ship went to warp and listed to one side, knocking him into the console behind him. He felt heavier all of a sudden. Shortly afterwards, he heard the conversation between Commander Hope and Engineering and the order to stop the ship. Once they were stopped, Methos heard that they were not where they were supposed to be, wherever that was.
He had heard that there was a planet almost directly in front of and above them.
“I agree with Lt. Shinsei, ma’am. But we should wait until we find out what happened and prevent it from happening again,” Methos said.
“Well cadet, that is a lot of ship to check for a saboteur, I suggest looking in Main Engineering first. Lt. Daya, If you would, station some personnel at the main security risks, to prevent anyone from tampering with them. Cadet, if you will, lead the way to Engineering,” Methos said.
<Daya, Kane>
He then tapped his commbadge.
=/\=Methos to Marine team 1, report to the Bridge and secure it. =/\= =/\=Aye, Sir. =/\=
Then the three of them headed towards Engineering.

"Standard orbit," Paul Drew nodded, "make it so lieutenant Shinsei." Though he named Shinsei, he nodded towards the cadet at the helm. "Make sure not to engage the warp engines."
Meanwhile, S'reena's sharp hearing had caught Daya's little remark and she stepped up to him. "What look would that be lieutenant?" she asked him, her voice low but in a very no-nonsense tone.
<Daya, before leaving to engineering>
Next she looked over her shoulder at the science team. "Any idea on where we are yet?" she querried, casting a worried glance on the main viewscreen. "Mr Reynolds, initiate scan of that planet. Ms Brelev, cadets....bio-scan...any life down there?
<Reynolds/Brelev/Fraugg/Jolim.......feel free to class the planet and name the species>
The Romulan walked back to her seat, exchanged a worried glance with Drew then tapped her combadge. "Any idea on what happened yet Mr Smith?" she asked, "we did not engage the warp engines from up here. It must've happened in engineering. Methos, Daya and their cadet are on their way to investigate. You are to order your team to stay where they are and not leave their post. Report anyone unaccounted for right away."

Daya winced at the tone of the commanders voice, "that voice, would be the voice of a superior officer, who is completly in control of the situation, ma'am" hoping his answer would suffice for the First Officer.
"Don't look at me. I dont know anything about investigations. If there is something to shoot then I'm your man. I would have to think like I want this ship to be 'broke' for lack of a better word. Nodding in response to Brelev being her guide through training, Jolim requested 1st posting at the consul, she had missed the feeling of searching for information and it would feel good to get back into the flow of duty. As requested she began to run sensor checks on all systems, everything checked as standard. Watching Brelev and Fraugg leave for the lab, she suddenly felt a pang of apprehension, this position was new to her…what if something would happen and she wouldn’t have the technical ability to work through it? “peace be on the prophets to provide guidance” she said under her breath..
"The deck suddenly tilted, throwing everybody standing to the wall”
Dragging herself off the floor, jolim forced herself to get back into her seat, her head was splitting from where she had crashed into the floor, she was sure that warp shouldn’t have happened that quickly…
“Still struggling against gravity, S'reena turned in her seat. "Brelev, Jolim, Fraugg, where are we...scan space for our surroundings. Reynolds, send out probes once we come to full stop."
she scanned the area trying to assess their location. Her sensors seemed to be jammed, nothing but interference showed on her display panels. Rerouting the main sensor array could be tricky, yet in her life before Starfleet this would have been simple work. She set about to try to locate the problem Hearing Tagert report; "Sir I don't know where we're at but there is a planet bearing 300 mark 15. It's to the port side (left) of the ship, somewhat above the centerline of the vessel." she realised that other sensors must be working correctly, so why ot hers??
As Lieutenant Shinsei advised for a standard orbit, she heard Commander Hope say “any life down there?”
“There is definite life Commander, sensors malfunctioning at present so no precise readings yet, im recalibrating round the interference but something seems to be jamming the programming. If Fraugg and Commander Brelev could assist we could ascertain the origins of the planet without further delay.

From the centre of the bridge, Drew listened carefully to the reports coming in from the various departments, and tried to make sense of everything quickly in his mind. They had left space dock, all systems apparently normal, when they had gone to warp, something unexpected had happened, and now they had no idea of their location, apart from the fact that there was a planet nearby. Not exactly something covered in your every day command course Drew reflected, as he watched the fuzzy picture on the view screen.
“Commander Reynolds,” Drew called out, “have you had any luck contacting Starfleet Command, or Starbase Conquer yet?”
“Negative Admiral,” Reynolds replied, “our systems appear to be working, but I can’t reach a signal.”
“Understood,” Drew answered, “start a level two diagnostic of our communication equipment, see what you can do.”
<tag Reynolds>
Letting the Operations Officer return to his work, looked over at S’reena, and indicated for her to join him in the ready room, where they would be able to discuss the situation in private. As soon as the doors had shut behind them, Drew spun round to face the First Officer.
“What do you think might have happened?”
“It must be this new engine,” S’reena replied quickly, “it wouldn’t be the first time the Engineering Corps didn’t test something properly before installing it on ships.”
“At the moment I have to agree,” Drew said, taking a seat on the large sofa in front of the window, “when we are finished here, I’ll go down to Engineering.”
“What about the inhabitants on the planet below?” S’reena asked, “they may be able to help us.”
Drew looked over his shoulder to view the large planet in the background; it was true that there were signs of a degree of high technology, although nowhere near the Federation’s standard.
“The prime directive may apply,” he finally answered, after considering her suggestion.
“We wouldn’t know,” S’reena countered, “at the moment, our sensors can’t do anything, let me take a small team in a shuttle, see what we can find out.”
“OK,” Drew agreed, “take a science and navigation Cadet with you, but don’t make contact with the inhabitants.”
“Understood,” S’reena replied, sharply turning and exiting the ready room, getting ready to arrange the away mission. Drew stayed in his private office for a few moments longer, staring out into space. These training missions never seemed to go the way they were planned, he thought to himself, as he too made his way to leave the small room, heading for Engineering.

S'reena turned smartly on her heels and exited the readyroom. "Hope to shuttlebay one, prep shuttlecraft Hornblower, we're taking her out in ten minutes," she ordered, after rapidly tapping her combadge.
"Acknowledged commander," Chief R'Mart answered, "Anything specific you need?"
S'reena smiled at the Klingon's efficiency and quickly ticked off a list of equipment they would need. She glanced around on the bridge, pondering which cadets she would take along. The Romulan noticed that Arika was mulling around a little while Tagert was still sitting at the console, Lieutenant Shinsei leaning over him, apparently pointing something out.
At the science station, Jolim seemed to be performing the scans with Brelev's assistance, while Fraugg was also standing around, apparently a little bored. "Cadets Arika and Fraugg, you are with me," S'reena's voice suddenly rang over the otherwise relatively quiet bridge.
<Arika/Fraugg>
"We're taking a shuttlecraft down planet, call up the turbolift, I'll be with you in a second." S'reena grimaced at the thought of taking just two cadets down planet. "Hope to Daya, report to shuttlebay one," she ordered, "I'm in need of your expertise as security chief. You're to bring your phaser rifle."
<Daya>
With that settled, she joined the two cadets in the turbolift. "How are your skills on first contact?" she querried them, even though she knew they were to stay away from the locals.
<Fraugg/Arika>
Somewhat later "Cadet Fraugg, you might want to have a look at that nebula overthere," S'reena suggested, pointing at the brightly orange/red pulsating nebula. She had barely spoken the words when to her horror the nebula came charging towards them. "What the!" she exclaimed, as consoles were sent sparking, and one of them exploded in her face.
With a cry she covered her eyes, as she felt he pressure of the shuttle going in a down spin, just barely braked enough by the planet's atmosphere, before it crashed on the planet's soft surface.
Blinded, S'reena reached for her seat, but she never got there. Upon impact she was slammed against the console and the last thing she knew was hearing bones break.
<Fraugg/Arika/Daya...............she's severely injured, you can't contact the Hanson just yet......find out what's on the planet, keep out of sight....and tend to S'reena....I'm on loa as of next week...don't cure her before last week of april unless really necessary>

IC: Caring had transported on board one minute before the ship left spacedock. The transporter Chief had informed her she had made it in the nick of time and that they were getting under way. Caring asked the computer directions to her quarters, when the ship began to tilt and she found herself on the floor of the corridor.
"Just wonderful! I forgot how much I love space travel. Whatever possessed me to think I missed falling to the floor everytime something happened in space. I must be out of my mind! Hopefully, there is a Counselor cadet so I can get myself straightened out before I have them help anyone else." Caring said to herself, thank goodness no one was around to her talk to herself.
Caring got up and continued on her way to her quarters to drop her things off, then she would head to the bridge.
As Caring stepped off the turbolift, she notice a large amount of activity and a larger compliment of crew, which at first threw her off. Then Caring remembered that this was a training ship, so there was bound to be a larger crew compliment then she remembered.
Caring walked over to where the command chairs were occupied. Although she had never met him, she recognized Admiral Drew immediately. "Counselor Caring Sorrow, reporting for duty!"

Daya was on his way towards the engieering area with Methos and Cadet Kane, while another cadet came up a bit late.
"Hope to Daya, report to shuttlebay one," she ordered, "I'm in need of your expertise as security chief. You're to bring your phaser rifle."
"Aye ma'am on my way" Daya turned to look at Methos and the cadets, "this is where i get to have fun."
Daya made his way to the armory and grabbed his personal phaser rifle, engraved with his name on the handle. He then left and went to the shuttlebay.
"Cadet Fraugg, you might want to have a look at that nebula overthere," S'reena suggested, pointing at the brightly orange/red pulsating nebula. She had barely spoken the words when to her horror the nebula came charging towards them. "What the!" she exclaimed, as consoles were sent sparking, and one of them exploded in her face.
"Brace for impact"Daya yelled out, Grabbed onto a seat in front of him, Blinded, S'reena reached for her seat, but she never got there. Upon impact she was slammed against the console and the last thing she knew was hearing bones break.
~~~~~
When Daya came too, he pushed himself off the ground, out from under a chair. Struggling to stand he steadied himself on a still standing chair and held on as the blood rushed back to his head. "Commander, you ok?" He asked as he blinked from the pain and light.
Hearing no reply he cried out again, then looked for the cadets. "Cadets, report"
<tag Fraugg/Arika>
Daya started moving a few loose peices of junk and found Commander Hope's body, under stray peice of metal, she was unmoving and bleeding. "Cadet, help me lift this off of her" he said, as one of the cadets came over to help.. They lifted the sheet of metal off and Daya knelt down to Hope's side, checking for a pulse. "Gimme a medpak, now" he yelled out as he started removing the outer layer of clothing.
When the cadet handed him the medpak, he began administering basic first aid, then stopped when he saw the cadets standing, waiting. "Cadet Akira see if you can get communications back online, the other see what else you can do for the commander."
He stood back as Fraugg bent down to place more bandages on Hope's body, Daya found his rifle and kicked open the doors to the shuttle, letting in the bright light. grabbing a spare tricorder, he checked the outside , finding no signs of life anywhere near them, he stepped back in the shuttle.
"Sorry, I forgot this is a large ship with a big crew. I'm used to smaller ships. I would suggest stoping and getting some weapons on the way to engineering." Matti said to the officers accompanying him.
Stepping onto the turbolift, Matti said, "Deck 11. Engineering."
As they were getting off the turbolift, the group was approached by a Cadet.
Just before reaching Engineering Lt. Daya's combadge went off. "Hope to Daya, report to shuttlebay one," she ordered, "I'm in need of your expertise as security chief. You're to bring your phaser rifle."
Upon entering Engineering Captain Methos ordered, "Report, tell me some good news."
"Don't worry about forget the size of the ship, happens to the best of us. As for weapons, I don't think we will be needing them. At least I hope not," He said as they entered the turbo lift.
As they were going to engineering, the lift stopped and another cadet came in.
Methos looked somewhat surprised by the appearance of the new cadet. He quickly hid his surprise, and very sternly looked at him. "You must be Running Wolf. When we get to Engineering, I want you two to start questioning the staff there about what happened. I will interrogate to the CEO. We may just find out that it was a malfunction in the equipment. If that is the case, then we worry about what's on that planet. If we are looking for a saboteur, it will be our job to help apprehend him or her. So I want you both to have your heads on a swivel, so to speak. Do you understand me?" Methos asked.
<Kane and Running Wolf>
The turbo lift stopped and the trio got off and walked into engineering. Methos saw that just about everybody was busy working at the various stations around the warp core. The only person that seemed to know what was going on was yelling at three different work crews at the same time. Methos walked up to the Commander and asked, "Can you tell me what happened, Commander?"
He hears Shinsei ask, “Are either of you hurt?” He glances over at her and says, "I'm alright, just was in a heavy panic for a moment."
He then hears Shinsei say, "For future reference, I believe Cadet Arika had the right idea, impulse is not to be used in dock, just thrusters. That, however, did not cause what just happened, in case that's any consolation,” He looks at Tagert and Shinsei and says, "Just instinct, I guess."
He hears the Commander saying, "Cadets Arika and Fraugg, you are with me,"
He looks at the Commander and nods, and walks over to the turbolift and waits for it. As the doors to the turbolift open, he walks in. As the turbolift goes down, he hears the Commander ask, "How are your skills on first contact?"
He looks at her and replies, "They are decent."
Somewhat Later... He had remained silent for most of the shuttle ride until the shuttle started to act up. He heard Daya shouting, "Brace for impact" and had immediately grabbed onto a panel closest to his seat.
After the shuttle had crased he heard Daya saying, "Cadet, help me lift this off of her" He immediately ran over and helped lift the sheet of metal off of the injured Commander.
Moments later he heard Daya say, "Cadet Arika see if you can get communications back online, the other see what else you can do for the commander."
He nods towards Daya and says, "I'll see what I can do." He begins to go to work on the communications equipment. He had examined the damage and started to wonder what went wrong.
"Brelev, Jolim, Fraugg, where are we...scan space for our surroundings. Reynolds, send out probes once we come to full stop."
"Understood," Jason said as he got his balance back. He had never experienced a trip like that and he didn't want to again.
"Probes away, telemetry coming in," Jason reported as he tried to keep the probes moving so that they could get as much information as possible. While Jason waited for information to come back he tried in vain to contact Starfleet Headquarters, there was no sign of the Federation anywhere near them.
Jason quickly discovered that there was a planet really near by and was about to report it. When one of the Navigation cadets reported it.
"Mr. Reynolds, initiate scan of that planet. Ms Brelev, cadets....bio-scan...any life down there?
"Scans are being initiated, will take a bit longer to get comprehensive results, the scanners were damaged because of that little trip we took," Jason said trying to compensate for it. "Though the planet is definitely a Minshara class planet."
“There is definite life Commander, sensors malfunctioning at present so no precise readings yet, I’m recalibrating round the interference but something seems to be jamming the programming. If Fraugg and Commander Brelev could assist we could ascertain the origins of the planet without further delay."
"Cadet Jolim, I'm recalibrating my sensors to help you out," Jason said hoping the extra sensors would help them.
“Commander Reynolds,” Drew called out, “have you had any luck contacting Starfleet Command, or Starbase Conquer yet?”
“Negative Admiral,” Jason replied, “our systems appear to be working, but I can’t reach a signal.”
“Understood,” Drew answered, “start a level two diagnostic of our communication equipment, see what you can do.”
"Understood, Admiral," Jason replied as he started the scan. "Computer how long until completion of the scan?"
"Thirty three minutes."
Jason kept on working on what was given to him, but he couldn't help but want to go with S'reena and the cadets. His gut was telling him that something was up, but hopefully the cadets and the First officer would be okay.
The shuttle carrying the four members of the Hanson crew was away and headed to the planet. All they could do was wait and hope that everything went okay.
Jason then noticed a new cadet walk onto the bridge; Admiral Drew was quite busy at the moment so he took care of it.
"Counselor Caring Sorrow, reporting for duty!"
"Cadet Sorrow, welcome to the Hanson, I'm Commander Reynolds, right now we are pretty busy, but if you’re up to it you can help me out with my duties?" Jason knew that the cadet was a counselor cadet, but right now she could help them out here.
<Tag Sorrow>
Jason went immediately back to work and he noticed a particular nebula near the ship and planet. The shuttle got closer to the nebula and then horror ran across Jason face.
"Admiral, the shuttle it’s going down!" Jason practically screamed with made everyone jump on the bridge.
"Track them!" Admiral Drew ordered.
"Already doing it sir, but there is a lot of interference," Jason said hoping that the computer's sensors would be able to track them.
"Commander Brelev, Cadet Jolim track them with your sensor," Jason said," we don't want to loose them."
(O.O.C Wow, I forgot how fast the Training threads move!)
Brelev let Cadet Tobius take the science consol and was about to depart for the lab with cadet Fraugg when the ship lurched. She was flung head first into the turbo lift's opening doors, and then sagged down to the floor. She felt hands pull her back out of the lift and turned around to see both her cadets getting reorganised. Her shouklders ached where she had hit the doors, but apart from a few bruises she was not harmed. "Is anyone hurt?" she asked above the hubbeb of the Bridge that had erupted over where they where and what had gone wrong.
"Cadet Tobius, scan our surrounding and see what you can find." Brelev orderd, no one seemed to be severly hurt, Brelev collected reports as they flew past her to the Captain and S'reena, they where not sure what had gone wrong, but the security team was going to look for sabeteurs, The cadet at the Helm reported a planet nearby, S'reena orderd Jolim to run scans and Cadet Tagert to go into orbit.
Brelev noticed Jolim struggling with the sensors, "They must have been damaged when you collided with it, they don't make ships like they used to." she replied. "Let me take a look." Sure enough the sensors where functioning at an almost useless level. =A= Commander Brelev, we could use an Engineer, it seems that the sensors are jaming up, we can't get a decent reading of the planet.=A=
"Keep trying Cadet, I'm going to need to check sickbay to see if anyone was injured in that jump. If you need me, just call." Brelev gave her cadet an encouraging smile and headed for the lift behind S'reena, cadet Fraugg and one of the Navigation cadets who where going to explore the planet the old fasioned way.
Sickbay was not very busy, apparently everyone was either too bsy to drop in, or simply managed to avoid damage. Michael and the EMH had the few patients under good care, so Brelev headed back to the bridge. =A=Commander Brelev, return to the Bridge immediatly=A= Brelev picked up her pace and arrives to see that cadet Tobius had managed to regain some sensor control and the Bridge was in a tizy of nervouse excitment, 'What happened?"
"The shuttle went down, we're not sure what happened." Drew replied
Brelev arrived at Tobius's side and helped her track the shuttle, it was tricky business, and with the sensors acting up all they could determine was that the shuttle had landed somewhere in the north west on a large continent.
"Any idea on what happened yet Mr Smith?" she asked, "we did not engage the warp engines from up here. It must've happened in engineering. Methos, Daya and their cadet are on their way to investigate. You are to order your team to stay where they are and not leave their post. Report anyone unaccounted for right away."
"I've already got a lockout in place, and all personnel - the few we have right now- only a minimum compliment- are all here. At least they are now.... Well be trying to figure this out, so pardon us if we don't give them a warm welcome. Smith out."
Max checked on the computer. the mapping of the drive still wasn't finished. It reminded him of Montgomery Scott's famous quote "The more they overthink the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain." A mantra at starfleet academy school, along with 'keep it simple stupid." But whoever designed this hadn't followed those rules...
The door slid open. that was the investigation squad, He supposed.
"Report, tell me some good news." The marine captain demanded.
"good news is that we've disconnected the warp drive from everything else. whatever it is, it won't spread. We can go on impulse anytime- all systems are operational except for active sensors and the warp system. and those are being worked on as we speak."
"Can you tell me what happened, Commander?"
"The captain asked me to prepare for warp. I brought the systems online, and a few seconds later, we lurched to warp. we seemed to be okay for a few seconds, then the ship lurched. The graviton field increased to 1.4 G- it's down to 1.2 right now, but it's been fluctuating slightly. That typically means the ship is doing maneuvers that are typical only in extreme battle situations at war. we deviated from course, and well, heaven knows where we are. When the emergency stop was activated, the new warp panels locked themselves electronically, physically, and magnetically, If you try to open them with a plasma torch, they will dissipate the energy, so they can't be opened. looking at the wiring, they can't be unlocked unless the drive is started back up, and I'm not going to risk that right now. I might be able to access the programming and change it, but I could only do that by modifying the files in the core gel packs themselves. if we're lucky it should only take 10 to 20."
Methos nodded and frowned, "Is there some where, we could talk?"
Max nodded and led the way to his office. He motioned to a chair for Methos to sit in. Methos took a seat and blew his breath out. "I am not accusing you of anything, just yet. But seeing as how you had only just gotten aboard and then this happening to the warp core, you can see how there might be a possibility of your being responsible. Of course, for all you or anyone else knows, I did this. I can tell you right now, this is the first time I have been in Engineering," he paused. Continuing, he said, "Can you tell me exactly what you did, when you brought the core on-line?"
<Max>
Right after Max answered, the lights in engineering went out, and an alarm started blaring. Methos shouted, "What happened? And do you have any wrist lights?"
"Yes Sir." Matti replyed.
Turning to the nearest Engineer he begain to ask about what happened.
Suddenly the lights went out. Methos shouted, "What happened? And do you have any wrist lights?"
"Gee, I don't know Sir. I think the lights went out. And yes I always have at least one. Luckyly I brought three today." Matti said as he handed one to Captain Methos and one to Cadet Running Wolf.
