Remembering her training, T’lana attempted to clear her mind of all negative thoughts as she entered the holosuit. It had been two days now since the Hanson crew had returned to Starbase Conqueror, minus the Hanson itself. T’lana still could not believe she had lost the ship, and had spent the last two days in the infirmary and the Academy CO’s office. It seemed she had a lot of explaining to do, Admiral Drew was also requesting a meeting with her upon his return to Conqueror.
As she stepped up to the platform, T’lana cast an eye over the assembled officers of the Hanson, finishing with S’reena Hope, who was standing at the end of the line in her full dress uniform. T’lana freely admitted she struggled to form a relationship with the difficult and stubborn First Officer, but she believed they had formed some sort of a connection during there captivity.
Nodding at the Exec, T’lana turned to face the gathered Cadets and their families, who were all sat in the rows of chairs that the holo program had created.
T’lana knew that Admiral Drew usually gave a speech at these moments, but T’lana failed to see the need for such a performance. Instead, she called the three graduating Cadets to the stage.
As one Vander Halthor, Tarapik and Kiral Mallen stood from their chairs and approached their soon to be former Captain. All three of them now wore the uniforms of officers, and on the table besides T’lana were three black boxes that contained their new rank insignias.
“Congratulations,” T’lana told the assembled trio, “you have completed your training, and are now ready to take your place in Starfleet.”
She picked up the first black box, and approached Vander Halthor, she had been most impressed with this Cadet’s performance. He had suggested several intriguing ideas, and had been a valuable asset to the crew during the mission. She took out the two pips, one gold, one black, and pinned them onto his collar.
“Congratulations Lieutenant Junior Grade,” she said stiffly.
Approaching Tarapik, she went through the same process. Tarapik had also distinguished himself during the mission, and if not for his actions, it was possible they might never had escaped from the Klingon prison.
“Well done Lieutenant Junior Grade,” she said, in the same tone as before.
Finally she approached Kiral Mallen, who like the other two was also graduating with the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade. T’lana had not had as much to do with this Cadet, but she had heard nothing but praise from Commanders Hope and Brelev. She pinned the two pips onto her collar.
“Congratulations Lieutenant Junior Grade,” she said, then turning to face all three she said, “I wish you all every success in your carers, live long and prosper.”
As she stepped back, the Hanson officers, and the gathered crowd burst into a round of applause for the new officers.
OOC:
Congratulations to all three of you, it has been a pleasure having you aboard the Hanson with us, and I am sure you will all be a credit to us, and yourselves when you take up your assignments in the fleet.
You should hear from the Personnel Department in the next few days about where you will be assigned, in the meantime you are welcome to continue posting on the Hanson with us. Brelev and S’reena have requested to be allowed to back post our return to the Starbase, which I have agreed to, so you all have an opportunity to tie up any loose ends you might have.
Again, congratulations, I hope you have a blast in Section 47.

Brelev stood beside S'reena, looking proud is her often worn dress uniform. These cadets had been through a great deal, and she had little doubt they would excel in the main fleet. T'lana's speech was painfully dull and in Brelev's opinion the vulcan should not have been given that honour, but she was the mission CO even if she was a lousy one. Brelev planned to send a complaint into Command, and was quite certain S'reena would to the same. There was something they both agreed on.
As the cadets left the stage to be congratulated by their families Brelev took a moment to give S'reena a wry smile, remembering the reception they had been given when they arrived at the station in the Bird of Prey. There had been a few rather tense moments that could have ended in some violence, if it had not been for some quick thinking on both sides. Currently the ship was docked and abandoned as some of the higher ups debated what to do with it. There where those who wanted to learn all they could, and others who wanted it to dissapear as fast as possible. Brelev was just thankful it was not her problem.
The Hanson its self was still missing, although there where steady reports that it was still under control of the Klingons who had taken it from them. Brelev heard about Admiral Lin's situation as well, it all sounded rather grim. She had met the Admiral once, and he had been a pleasent fellow, of course none of this was really his fault.
As the cadet's familied dispersed to allow others acess to the new officers, Brelev moved in. "Lieutenant Mallen." she began, the young women hesitated, not quite used to her new rank. "Congratulations on completing your training, I am sure you will make a fine officer. I believe you have been assigned to the USS Olympia correct?"
<Tag Mallen>
"I had a glance at the stats for her, she looks like a fine vessel." Brelev replied. "I don't know Captain Smith personally, but I have heard good things."

S'reena stood somewhat stiffly between Brelev and T'Lana, resisting the urge to tug at the always seemingly too tight collar of her dress uniform. She and T'Lana both had been ushered towards SBC's sickbay as soon as their BOP arrived. Salek and the other Vulcans were ushered there too and treated for the effects of residing in a damp and mouldy surrounding for longer than necessary.
S'reena herself had been the worst for wear, as seemed to become somewhat of a standard these days, and had been stuck in sickbay for several hours while doctors worked to fix the injuries T'Lana had inflicted upon her.
Now, feeling much better but still exhausted, she stood at stiff attention, trying to keep her attention to T'Lana's incredibly dull speech. "I wish Drew was here," she murmured to Brelev, then nodded towards Methos and Daya. "Even they look ill at ease, when usually they're the party-people."
Once T'Lana was done, S'reena too stepped forward to congratulate the graduees, and to speak a word of comfort to those who had to stay in the academy just a little longer. "Indeed, Captain Smith is a fine command-grade officer," she agreed with Brelev, "and you'll serve him well of course. Though, Tarapik seems to be assigned to the Scavenger, a fine ship commanded by a fine if not somewhat excentric captain."
The Romulan smiled, then pulled T'Lana towards them. "And now, dear captain, you are going to get shown what amusement is. You, my dear, are far too stiff." She nodded towards Salek. "Even the counselor indulges in some fun. Perhaps something you could learn, for the sake of the cadets in the future?"

The newly promoted Lt. JG. Vander Halthor stood up after receiving his new rank and wanted to say a few words before embarking on his new found mission and leaving for only some time from his good friends he met aboard the USS Hanson.
"I would like to make a toast to all of the fine officers and the newly promoted officers for their efforts in this mission, it has been a pleasure serving with you all and i enjoy being a part of what this ship does from time to time."
Vander Halthor almost wanted to cry because he was filled with joy and these were not sad tears but good tears and he wanted the most of what he would be doing in the career he was going to have.
Before embarking on his new ship assignment, Vander Halthor wanted to shake the cadets hands for giving him the opportunity to be a team and perform so well, and then he approached Captain T'lana and gave a firm hand salute with admiration of the captain. After he had done this he brought out his hand and shook the captains and then went to commander hope.
"Commander Hope, thanks for the brawl we had in the Hanson and the fun times i had interrogating you, i will enjoy being part of your crew when and if the time comes, but for now, good bye, and good luck in your career commander." the andorian wanted to give the commander a hug but it was not officer material to show a emotion like that in uniform so vander halthor lended out his hand and shook the commander's hand.
"Lt. JG. Tarapik and Lt. JG. Mallen, you are indeed a fine examples of officership and i want to express my sincere gratitude for working with ya both. I will have many fun adventures to come with you and will be glad to serve with you any time when that situation arrises."
After giving his farewell to the entire crew that he served with on the hanson. Halthor then proceeded towards his instructor. "Commander Daya, thank you for your efforts in teaching me the skills of a tactical security officer and giving me the opportunity to advance while working with others, you are a good instructor and continue doing a good job in what you do."
"To all of you, a farewell, and i have been thankful for all that you have done for me and the other cadets while taking it out of your busy schedules to work with us. Thank you." Vander Halthor smiled then hung out for a bit longer to have some drinks and enjoy the momentous event.

Kiral proudly accepted her new rank of Lieutenant JG. Graduation from the Academy was easily the best feeling she had felt since being Joined. It seemed like her time as a cadet had flown by at Warp 9. She was sad to be leaving, but her regret was overpowered by the excitement of being a real Starfleet officer.
She left the stage and found herself face-to-face with her father. She squealed, ecstatic that he would take time off from his trading business to see her at her proudest hour. Tears of joy ran down Mallen's face as she embraced him, and he leaned down to whisper in her ear. "Your mother would be proud, Kiri."
Thirsty, and also eager to say goodbye to her fellow cadets, she broke away for a few minutes to head over to the replicators. On the way she ran into Tarapik and Halthor. Unable to help herself, she hugged them tightly, not caring about the strange looks they gave her in return. "Did you hear?" she asked the Andorian. "I heard you were assigned to the Olympia, like me. We're going to be serving together again! Oh, it was so good working with you both! I'll miss you, Tarapik, and I'll see you soon, Halthor."
Finally reaching the replicator, she ordered a Goombay Punch and relished the sugary, refreshing taste. At that point, Commander Brelev approached her to offer her congratulations. "Yes, ma'am, I have been assigned to the Olympia." She smiled widely. "A Prometheus Class! I'm so excited... And thank you, Commander, for your instruction, and everything."

After the arrival of the Hanson's crew on board the captured Bird of Prey, Tarapik, Salek and T'lana were quickly barged into the Starbase's sick bay. They had to be cured of the effects of the damp prison, whose environment was definitely not hospitable to Vulcans. Delightfully, the quick actions of the medical staff saved their lives. And the time came for the graduation ceremony. The young Vulcan was sitting in the lines of the two other cadets - Vander Halthor and Kiral Malen. A few things bothered Tarapik. He couldn't be cured of everything so fast, so his right eye was still half-closed and he hadn't had time to go to the dentist, so he still lacked three teeth on the right of his jaw. But what mostly bothered him was that the other cadets had their families with them and he himself was alone. Tarapik could see the pride in the eyes of the parents, and this made him for the first time in four years to regret his run away from Vulcan. He saw his mother and father's images in his mind, imagined what they have lived through due t his escape. But he quickly got the thought away from his mind. There was no logic in regretting, since it was too late for it. Now that he relaxed himself, Tarapik stood up along with the other cadets and pulled nervously his new yellow officer uniform with no rank insignia. The three cadets got on the platform, where acting captain T'lana was expecting them. The ceremony began. First cadet Halthor was promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade. Then it was Tarapik's turn. He was surprised to understand that he had gone up directly to L.J.G., too. “Well done Lieutenant Junior Grade!” The elder Vulcan said, as she placed the insignia on his collar. "Thank you, captain. May you live long and prosper!" Tarapik said to her. Later, as cadet Mallen was also promoted to the same rank, and the crowd rushed forward to congratulate them, Tarapik managed to pull away Vander Halthor on the side. "It appears that's how it ends,... my friend. I will be assigned to USS Scavenger, so our paths are dividing here. I wanted you to know that I have most sincerely enjoyed serving with you." <tag Halthor> Suddenly the third cadet also appeared and, most to Tarapik's surprise, hugged them tightly. "There is no logic in this... but I believe I understand your motives" Tarapk told her and gently pushed her away. "It appears you will be serving on the same ship. I wish you all the best, and may our paths cross again. And now - shall we move on toward the food? I must acknowledge that our adventures have made me become quite hungry" he told to his comrades and much to their, and his surprise, he smiled to them for a second. This promised to be a worthy goodbye-ceremony for the cadets. <tag Halthor, Mallen>

As soon as their captured BOP docked and the crew disembarked, Methos was approached by Star Fleet Intelligence. Methos promptly gave them the coordinates of what he thought was the firefight and left the area. He went to his quarters and took a sonic shower. When he was finished, he relaxed for the hours that would take place before the Graduation Ceremony.
As the time grew shorter, he started putting on his Dress Greens. He new that some of his Marines would be there, they always were, so he decided to head to the Marine Deck to do a spot inspection. Upon arriving there, he saw that the three Marines were standing ready for his inspection. It amazed him at their anticipation of his inspection. He look them over and nodded his approval. Together the four of them headed toward the holodeck. Upon entering, they took a seat in the back. Although there was a seat designated for him, Methos elected to sit with his Marines. He really didn't want to be here, even though he usually did. All kinds of things went wrong with this last mission. Methos did not like losing his ship, which as a Marine was his duty to protect, even until death.
After the ceremony, Methos and Daya were standing together, looking somber. Methos guessed that Daya didn't like the fact that they had lost the ship either. Methos noticed that Commander Hope looked their way and motioned with his head that he would like to talk with her outside of the holodeck. She nodded and mouthed ten minutes. He nodded and left the holodeck.

Konal was not much into celebratory functions, but she also was a woman of integrity. In the short time she was with them, these cadets did a fine job. Hopefully their new assignments will utilize their strengths, and bolster any weakness.
Standing partially aside, due to her tardiness, Konal clapped in unison as the ceremony came to a close.
"Well, Commander, seeing as sickbay is free now, I'm going to get these cuts and bruises taken care of." Konal pulled the neckline of her starfleet uniform toward her right shoulder exposing scars that were regenerated in haste. S'reena acknowledged her request and gave directions to the station sickbay.
As she was leaving, she interrupted the group of Cadets chattering to each other about their impending future.
"I would like to personally congratulate each of you. I don't feel like I have had enough time to get to know you, but each of you has helped me get accustomed to my new position as instructor. Hopefully, someday, we can serve again together."
Konal left the group as quickly as she came. A group of Cadets on the verge of their careers didn't need to be lectured any more by a middle-aged woman.
Konal made her way to sickbay. "I could really use a sonic shower," she said to herself along the way. It would wait, though, until she could be seen by a doctor.

Crystal had very much not liked the fact that the Hanson had not been the ship they returned to Conqueror with, but she was trying to stay confidant in the belief that Starfleet would return them the Hanson soon enough. She still felt like it was her fault, and nothing anyone could say, if they were even interested in saying anything to her, would have been able to assure her otherwise.
There was considerably less speechifying at this particular graduation, and while Crystal was fairly sure that had to do with the temperament of the commanding officer, Captain T'lana, she was none-the-less rather grateful for it. But she wondered if maybe it would be better for the cadets to hear how proud all the instructors were of them.
But, after all, Crystal didn't exactly like these formal congratulations. Since she didn't have a cadet, she figured she wouldn't have to stick around for as long, and she could probably even get away without talking much to anyone. Which, in Crystal's book, was very much a good thing.
She clapped for the cadets, then adjusted her dress uniform again. She didn't much care for the feeling of it, hey, she still regarded any kind of uniform with more than a teaspoon of skepticism.
Crystal debated the notion of congratulating individually any of the cadets, but she guessed that they would probably all look at her without quite recognizing her. She hadn't been around them much and she was neither a very visible nor a very important member of the crew. Crystal decided to get something to eat though, she was feeling a little bit hungry and since there was food here she couldn't think of any reason not to take it.

Daya leaned against a wall watching the procedings of the evening. "All these graduations seem to be the same" he said to no one in particular. He clapped his hands in appluase as his cadet was given the two pips, and waited for the cadet to reach him.
"Commander Daya, thank you for your efforts in teaching me the skills of a tactical security officer and giving me the opportunity to advance while working with others, you are a good instructor and continue doing a good job in what you do."
"well thank you cadet, you did an excellent job, and any captain should be glad to have you as their officer"
