Ashley pulled out his tricorder and set it to full scanning and transmit to his PaDD that he pulled out from small of his back.
He looked at the deck plan for the level and noted it was number 3 Greenhouse, but it was packed full of industrial replicators, and it looks like some of the badly make parts nearby was coolant bottles of some type. He moved slowly around the machines to where the main control room would be and found the door locked.
The enter panel on this side was missing and so was the manual release. He scan a gas bottle and it was partly full with inert gas that expanded greatly when heated to extremes.
He wedged into the door where the locking panel was and set the phaser to low thermal and step and half shielded himself behind a replicator.
=^=D'Ville to upper team, firing phaser explosion to follow.=^=
He leveled the phaser at the bottle and fired watching the outer covering start to glow. The gas tried to expanded but was constricted by the bottle reached a point it could not be contained and blew out the contain and fracturing the door lock under it. Resetting the phaser back to stun, he then scanned the control room and found it empty he moved and found power to the console there. The panel had a lock out on it and the time it had been set was only minutes before. Ashley swapped PaDD for tricorder and scanned a full 720 and noted the jefferies tubes was shielded.
The looked for an hatch to enter when he felt that thing was going to get very painful, very quickly drop and roll on to his back and fired at the source of the feeling and was reward by the sound of a weapon hitting the deck followed by a more solid thud of a body hitting it.
=^=D'Ville to COmmander Manto, I just got a prisoner. I am in greenhouse control room three.=^=
He moved slowly around to the body he first saw the Cardassian Phaser laying where it dropped. The body came in to view and it was Human.
=^=and it's Human Commander=^=

Kalen spread out away from Commander Manto to search some of the station. He couldnt believe how much heavy equipment was around. Kalen wasnt picking anything up on his tricorder but that didnt mean there wasnt anyone around so he made sure that he kept on guard.
After 10 minutes of futile searching Kalen was about to give up the search when he came upon a dead cardassian body.
"Now this just keeps getting more interesting," Kalen thought to himself as he searched the body for any clues.
Not finding anything, Kalen decided to report back to Commander Manto about the body.
Kalen found Manto easily enough. "Sir, i didnt find much out there except a dead Cardassian. After examining the wound it looked like to me he was killed by a cardassian weopon but im no expert on cardassian weopons. But i do know it definately wasnt a Federation phaser that killed him."

Drying her tears, Beckah gave both women an appraising look.
"Okay, my dad needs a doctor bad. He told me to go into the other room but I just kept going."
Lucy smiled warmly. "We don't have to say where we met you. Just that we... well, that you found us, okay? Will that work?"
Lucy knew that Cmdr. Hope was holding back, letting the cadet test her wings. Make decisions, make innocent mistakes -nothing that would get anyone killed or injured- and be there to help.
Cadet Grey accepted the little girl's hand, her tiny fingers so small that they all but disappeared in Lucy's. Cmdr. Hope reluctantly took Beckah's other hand then gently patted it loose. The child was disappointed but favorably received the situation as inevitable. Lucy knew why but didn't feel it was necessary to explain to a 7 year old that the commander needed her hands free in case of enemies.
Within 15 minutes, Beckah stopped at a door which opened silently at her touch. It was a manual release hidden in the crease of the bulkhead. *Why would the station inhabitants need to hide their controls?* Lucy wondered in passing.
The girl ran to another room, Hope and Grey following. Lucy snapped open the catch on her medikit.
The man was no older than 30. His hair was a light brown and when Lucy pried open his eyelids to check pupil reaction, she found those same blue eyes as his daughter. His hand rested over his chest. After determining the sluggish light reflex as worrisome, Lucy gently pulled his fingers upward.
"Commander, will you take Beckah into the other room while I finish my exam?" Dr. Grey turned enough for Cmdr. Hope to see her facial features. They were grim, as if there were very little or no hope Beckah's father would survive.

The Romulan nodded, held out her hand to Beckah and took her into the next room. There, she sat the girl down on a chair, then went to get a cloth and some water. Gingerly, she started to clean up the girl's face. "Why, I do believe there's a gorgeous little girl under all that dirt," she smiled, though her eyes didn't have their usual sparkle of when she was amused.
Their situation was hardly a happy one, and their fortune could change any minute. "Miss Grey, please hurry. We cannot stay here too long. If needed, have him transported to the Graeme and page Manto that we have injured."
S'reena turned back to face the girl. "Can you tell me what happened here? What did those that killed the crew look like?" She pointed to the girl and then to the room next door. "Did they look like yourself and miss Grey, or did they look more like me?" She brushed her hair behind her ear to show the distinct difference.
(Grey, please continue. I will finish this post tomorrow, or write a new response)

"What was the loud blast?" She yelled, as she found a Human lying on the ground, partially burned. It was the blast that killed him, not the Cadet's phaser. That made it a bit easier to explain to command later, and Konal was a bit relieved... as relieved as one could be with someone dead lying at your feet.
"And he's carrying a Cardassian phaser. Mr. Sol, you said you found a dead Cardassian, correct?"
He agreed.
"Interesting. I was the only Cardassian on the botany outpost. And the mining consortium --- no Cardassian would actually do any mining themselves."
Interesting it was. Konal had problems coming up with a view as to what played out moments before their arrival to the outpost.
"What are in these tanks that are so explosive?" she asked D'ville, who was busy trying to disarm the Cardassian phaser. "Here- let me get that." A few button pushes and it was disabled. "It's a quick sequence to turn them off." It was unfortunate that she knew Cardassian phasers so well. It was part of her rough former-life... her life before Starfleet.
Ilium-629 was in the barrel. It was a nuisance product that occurred during the mining process at the outpost. The botany outpost had to create ventilation shafts in the outpost to deal with the abnormal Ilium-629 amounts that seeped from the ground. It was also a hallucinogen, and was highly explosive under pressure.
"Ok Cadets - I need you to hypothesize." Partially because she was at a loss for a reasonable explanation of her surroundings. "Why would a Cardassian and Human be fighting near such volatile substances?"
<D'ville and Sol --- give ideas, but keep them within the guidelines I give below>
Konal suspected there was some sort of drug trafficking occurring here, and these too got in a phaser fight that the Hanson crew happened to interrupt.

T'lal rushed onto the bridge.
Admiral, I believe I have the solution to the Romulan warbird's unique warp-drive signature.
"No need, Lieutenant. Cadet Garrett has already apprised me of the situation. It's a cloaked warp drive."
T'lal briefly had a feeling of anger and defeat before he quickly controlled his emotions. His skin briefly flushed green, and back to normal as he walked to the Science Console.
"Cadet Garrett, may I have a word with you."
She obliged, seeming a bit unsure of what direction the conversation with the Vulcan was about to take.
"I suggest we..."
The bridge was hailed, and Admiral Drew answered.
"We are the Starfleet Officers. We surrender our sh..." The channel faded in and out, and went offline.
"Admiral, I believe it is a trap. Remember their warp-core is still online." T'lal was sure of his findings. Too sure. As he spoke, the electromagnetic damping field around the warp core dissolved, exposing the operational core.
<Garrett>
T'lal left the bridge, claiming that he was needed in Astrometrics. Although, it was inconceivable that there could be work there at a time like this.

"i will look in that cadet," daya said "daya out."
After he had finished his conversation he went to a console and started a diagnostic on everything, the results showed massive power fluctuations in every system which was normal considering he had just booted the system up, so he gave it a few seconds (more like 30) and everything returned to normal. Since there was nothing left to do in engineering he entered the turbolift. "deck 5" he said and 12 sec. later he was there. After exiting the turbolift he went to his quarters and entered.
Upon entering he sat down in his chair and turned on his computer and started a diagnostic on every system again. "computer wake me up if any of the fowling happens: this diagnostic changes, we are fired upon, or red alert takes place" be-ee-eep the computer replied and with that he went to his bed and fell ah-sleep.

'Failed drug exchange, the only theory I got at the moment based on past research is the drug money was being used to get weapons.'
That research was watching 20 century law enforcement shows, he watched in time he was on Earth.
'But was it the Cardassian trying to rebuild the weapon stock piles or was they middle men for another race. But why would the Romulans be involved, unless they was supplying weapons. Then using the drugs to control the remaining Remans on Remus. Even that they are a protector of the Klingon Empire, the Romulans would not be too happy about a KDF force with Romulus, Reman system.'
He raised his hand and move quickly to the Human on the floor. and sat cross his chest. At the weight of the bulky Klingon on his chest he eye flew open in panic.
'He been watching and ploting for the past three minutes Commander.'
The Human look more paniced at that simple statement.

With her consol now black, Megan forced herself to remain calm. Backup power would be coming online at any second. As if reading her thoughts, backup power kicked in and her consol became illuminated again. She half-listened to the cadet in engineering’s conversation with Admiral Drew and the bridge crew’s attempts to restore power as she continued to observe scans of the Romulan vessel, but with backup power only, there was little she could accomplish.
Fortunately, full power came back rather quickly, and she raced to bring up more extensive scans of the warbird. She heard Alex explain that there might be an intruder onboard, and Megan had to concur with her fellow cadet. They were most likely also responsible for the sensor malfunction. As her consol lit up with new sensor readings, the door to the turbolift opened and T’lal entered the bridge. Megan braced herself for his approach, but he headed directly for the Admiral.
“Admiral, I believe I have the solution to the Romulan warbird's unique warp-drive signature.” T’lal began as calmly as an obviously rushing Vulcan could.
"No need, Lieutenant. Cadet Garrett has already apprised me of the situation. It's a cloaked warp drive." Admiral Drew responded before continuing to pace.
Wincing in sympathy embarrassment for the Lieutenant, Megan turned back to her station and tried to pretend he wasn’t there. The data on her screen immediately caught her attention. It appeared as though there was a phaser fight going on aboard the warbird. She was about to report this to the Admiral, but when she turned, she found herself face to face with T’lal.
“Cadet Garrett, may I have a word with you." he requested in a very measured voice. Preparing herself for the worst, she nodded, unsure of how he would respond. She had a feeling that she was not currently one of his favorite people.
"I suggest we..." he began, but before he could continue a hail came in from the warbird. Commander Daya patched it through under Admiral Drew’s command.
"We are the Starfleet Officers. We surrender our sh..." The channel faded in and out and went offline. Megan turned back to her station to pinpoint the location of the transmission. It was coming from the Romulan bridge where a heavy amount of the phaser discharges were occurring.
T’lal took several steps away from Megan towards the Admiral and said, "Admiral, I believe it is a trap. Remember their warp-core is still online."
Megan opened her mouth to disagree and report her findings when her consol began to beep. Turning back to find out what had changed, Megan found the cloak around the Romulan warp core had dropped and reported, “Sir, the cloak around their warp core just dropped, and the core is fully operational.”
She could see T’lal turning back towards to Admiral to reiterate his point, but Megan continued. “I also must respectfully disagree with Lieutenant T’lal, Sir. I’ve detected a concentration of phaser discharges occurring on the bridge of the warbird. I also pinpointed the location of the transmission we just received to the bridge as well.”
She stopped short of voicing her own opinion. She didn’t want to completely humiliate the poor Vulcan. She also figured that the Admiral would come to his own conclusion with the information she had provided.
Admiral Drew ordered a tractor beam on the warbird, and Megan turned back to her station to keep an eye on the phaser fight on the bridge. She heard the door to the turbolift and open and close, but she didn’t look back as her guess was that T’lal had decided to leave the bridge.
The tractor beam was only active for several moments, as shortly after it was initiated, it inexplicably went offline. She heard Admiral Drew contacting engineering for an explanation, but Megan wondered what her fellow Cadet thought. She agreed with him completely; there was definitely a saboteur.
Taping her commbadge, Megan said, “Cadet Garrett to Cadet Alex.”
It took several moments for him to respond, and once he did, Megan continued. “The tractor beam has just gone offline while we were attempting to lock onto the warbird. I think you’re right; this could be the work of a saboteur. We had a rather extensive sensor malfunction earlier that almost prevented us from detecting a cargo vessel trying to leave the area undetected. Maybe you could look into it.”
After he acknowledged the information she had given him and closed the comm channel, Megan turned back to the sensors. This whole situation was getting more and more complicated by the second.

"commander, get a tracker beam on that warbird" Daya heard the admiral call out, to which Daya quickly pressed a few buttons and the tracker beam engaged. Daya looked away for a quick moment, only to turn back and see the tracker beam fail. "Sir, the tracker beam has gone off line" Daya said looking up at the admiral. "i cant get it back" the admiral called down to engineering.
"Admiral, Cadet Alex recently reported a suspected sabatage with the warp core, and now the tracker beam is offline, I think the cadet may be right." Daya said, waiting for the admiral.
OOC sorry for the shortness, and the lack of posting and all that other stuff, i should be doing better soon.

Cadet Grey stood in the doorway finally hearing what Cmdr. Hope was saying.
"Did they look like yourself and miss Grey, or did they look more like me?" She brushed her hair behind her ear to show the distinct difference.
Beckah stuttered a little bit. "Like you," she said, her voice quavering.
"Commander, we can leave now," Lucy said softly. She walked over and knelt beside Beckah. "Your daddy's gone to be with your mama."
Tears ran down the child's face as the commander stood up. Lucy stood beside her and took Beckah's hand. "Can we beam her to the shuttle or the Hanson?"
At Hope's nod, Lucy bent down to explain to Beckah what was going to happen. As a counselor, she had been drilled on the idea that if a person knew what was to happen next, the reaction time would be faster. In this case, the little girl would be aware of and accept whatever took place. Later, she would be able to grieve.
::10 minutes later:: Time didn't seem to exist as the cadet and the commander raced through the corridors to a small suite of rooms dedicated to research. There, they were surprised to find seven bodies, all Cardassian.
OOC: Clarification, please. Is the outpost on a planet or asteroid or is it in orbit?

Kalen thought back about all the missions he had when he was piloting ships when he worked for the pirates.
"Commander i agree with Cadet Deville, it only makes sense that it was either drugs or weapons and either there was a disagreement between the people or maybe one group just wanted to steal the weopons or drugs from the others. IT makes sense...pirates will take anything if they can and usually it doesnt matter who dies in the process. There are a couple of pirates out there that have some honor but those are rare."

"Pointed ears, like mine," S'reena murmured, as Grey sheltered the girl. She glanced up to the younger woman. "That does coincide with the presence of that Warbird out there. We have to go, perhaps we find more survivors. Take the girl with you and keep her safe, until we reach the Graeme. I cannot risk leaving her alone aboard the ship."
Together with the cadet and the girl, the Romulan hurried through the corridors, until they reached what seemed to be a research laboratory. Cardassian bodies, far into a state of decomposition, littered the floor. S'reena counted seven, though there could have been more; it was hard to tell. She covered her nose and mouth with her hand as they stepped further into the room. She watched Grey shield the girl from this ruthless slaughtering.
"Hope to Manto," she started, her gaze frozen on the corpses, "we have something here you may want to see. We found seven Cardassian corpses. So far, only one survivor though we are still looking for more. And Konal? Be aware that there may be Romulans aboard this outpost. Our young survivor has described the persons who killed her father, and from her description, they could be Romulan."
The Romulan swallowed as she tore her gaze away from the Cardassians. "Cadet Grey, help me get that console operational. Perhaps we can access internal sensor logs. While you work on that console, and perhaps Bekkah can help you to keep her mind off our current situation, I'll go scout around for more survivors. Keep your phaser at hand, I won't be far."

Taping her commbadge, Megan said, “Cadet Garrett to Cadet Alex.”
Zzz. zzz. Zzz. Alex was asleep in his quarters dreaming about the warp core when all of a sudden he hears 'Cadet Garrett zzz. Alex' as soon as he heard this he woke up and said, "come again?" "Alex The tractor beam has just gone offline while we were attempting to lock onto the warbird. I think you’re right; this could be the work of a saboteur. We had a rather extensive sensor malfunction earlier that almost prevented us from detecting a cargo vessel trying to leave the area undetected. Maybe you could look into it." "I'm on my way."
Alex replied and shut off the diagnostic in his room, but before he shut off the computer entirely he noticed the red light, which meant he should have heard the alarm that would wake him up. "Next time I’m setting it 5 notches louder.” he thought as he left his room. He was in a good mood as the dream he was having wasn't going well and was thankful he had awoken from it. As he entered the turbolift he turned around and saw the doors close in front of him. He wasn't very alert since he just got up so he said "deck 2" and waited 2 seconds then said "halt" he sat there and thought for 15 sec. and then it clicked "deck 11" and the 14 second trip took 16 as he noticed before he arrived. As he stepped out of the turbolift he went to the diagnostics console and did a diagnostic on the tractor beam it seams that he did the same thing as last time so Alex just booted the system back up and in 5 seconds the tractor came back online.
OOC: zzz’s are snores and I’ll get back to you on the sensors Megan it’s just it’s pretty late right now.

Cmdr. Ramat glared at the Starfleet officers. Who would trust officers like them, anyway?
"You're wasting your time," Ramat said firmly. "Starfleet would assign you to prison and when you're released, there will still be a bounty on your heads." Ramat stood and took a step toward the most senior of them, a lieutenant commander. Swiftly, without warning, the Romulan commander back-handed the officer across his face. The slap resounded throughout the bridge. "Just to get your attention. Don't ever use my ship to contact another ship again."
Turning on his heel, Cmdr. Ramat didn't see the look of hatred on the man's face but knew it was there.
Pressing a control button, Ramat keyed the codes in that told the transporter room his destination coordinates. Within 20 seconds, Ramat was disappearing in a pink shimmer of transporter light.
|Outpost 1.2.9 |Research Lab
As Ramat materialized, his eyes ran over the bodies littering the floor. Then there she was. He brought his phaser up as she spoke to her underling.
"Cadet Grey, help me get that console operational. Perhaps we can access internal sensor logs. While you work on that console, and perhaps Bekkah can help you to keep her mind off our current situation, I'll go scout around for more survivors. Keep your phaser at hand, I won't be far."
"No, no. I do not want to shoot you, Cmdr. Hope... that is a commander's insignia, isn't it? Your Starfleet ranks are confusing to me sometimes." The lopsided smile on Ramat's face almost reached his eyes. Except that at the moment, he wasn't sure he had the upper hand. He was enamored of this woman but he really didn't know her.
Cmdr. Hope stiffened, turning slowly to look in the Romulan's direction. Cadet Grey's eyes went wide with surprise. Beckah screamed and threw her arms around Lucy's legs. Lucy reached down to push the little girl behind her, a gesture of safety although it wasn't safe in the room at all.
<Hope>
"You see," Ramat said, not moving, "there are a few Starfleet officers on my warbird. They beamed off this rock to save their own lives, leaving their comrades to die in their place. I'm a simple innocent guard, on patrol, keeping the peace. It seems there was a factory of sorts being operated here. Draining off Ilium-629 to be sold on the black market. Someone wanted control, someone else had control and a fight ensued."

"No, no. I do not want to shoot you, Cmdr. Hope... that is a commander's insignia, isn't it? Your Starfleet ranks are confusing to me sometimes."
S'reena froze in mid stride and turned around, staring directly at the Romulan male training a weapon on them. Behind her, she heard Bekkah scream and Grey whisper a few reassuring words at the girl. "Yes I am a Starfleet Commander," she replied calmly, not wishing to provoke him. Is there something we do for you? Other than remaining at gunpoint that is..." She took a few steps closer to the Romulan. "Why is it that you are here, on your own?"
S'reena shrugged indifferently. "Good for those Starfleet officers, they'll be marked and tried as deserters. And you are hardly innocent. Your vessel violated Starfleet territory, therefor your intrusion is an act of war." She took another step closer to him, until the tip of his gun touched her chest and she was almost face to face with him. "Lie to me," she dared him, "convince me you're just an innocent patrolman. You bear the rankings of a commander too, one of the Romulan Imperial Guard. And a simple patrolman is never one of the rank of commander. So, what is your business here, and I'll have the truth on that this time."
While she talked, her hand had slowly moved to the hilt of her trusted blade, an item the Romulan male obviously had not noticed yet. S'reena had come to expect this from Romulans she encountered, and this one seemed to be underestimating her as well. Without turning, she addressed Grey. "Get the girl out of here, I will join you shortly."
USS Hanson Commander Dharma Meri yawned as she stepped onto the bridge. Admiral Drew had called her to duty early as he needed to get off and get some well-earned sleep as well. Glancing around, the Trill was pleased to find the hated Romulan first officer absent from the bridge.
She glared around, at the officers and cadets present, but waited with speaking untill Drew was well off the bridge. "Report!" she barked at the nearest cadet, "what's going on here. You!" Dharma pointed at another cadet. "Where is that dratted Cardassian woman!"
<cadets, report to Dharma what is going on...come up with anything that moves our story along. Also, perhaps get in contact with the fleeters on the romulan ship?>

“There we go” Alex thought as he turned off the diagnostic he was running on the tractor beam. He thought that with the saboteur on board that he should keep a diagnostic running at all times, so he turned one on and as soon as he did he realized that the sensors were having problems so he went to investigate. As soon as he was there he saw plasma burns on the console and a panel had been pulled off and shot at too not to mention the phaser sticking out of it. Alex looked around it looked like it wasn’t enough to destroy the unit just enough to make a lot glitches. Alex then pressed his com badge “cadet Alex to admiral drew” “drew here” “the sensors are very badly damaged, there’s 5 plasma burns and phaser is wrenched in there.” "Start repairs." "OK I should have this fixed in about 8 min.” and Alex called 3 people to help him with repairs.
:: 8 min. 24 sec. Later::
After Alex and his team had finished with repairs, Alex went to check on that diagnostic when he saw something shimmer he went to investigate and slowly peered around the corner and then pulled his head back set his phaser to setting 3 (stun) then he leaped around the corner and fired. “Security to deck 11 intruder”

Seven Cardassian corpses. "Good heavens" Konal exclaimed out loud, although completely unintentionally. The others heard, and immediately huddled closer to the Commander. "I'll be there soon."
"Cadet Ashley, bind the human survivor. There is a medical console on the rear wall," she motioned to the wall furthest from their position. "You'll find basic triage equipment in there. That should be sufficient until we can get the human.. the officer to the USS Hanson. After, meet myself and Cadet Sol down on the lower deck, two decks down." She motioned for Sol to follow.
The way down had its unexpected woes. A few miners were found dead, victims of the initial explosion from the vessel in orbit. Passing them, Konal didn't show any signs of weakness, however Cadet Sol seemed to grow sick. "The job description never includes this, does it?" Konal said sympathetically to the young man.
Reaching Commander Hope's position, she stood gazing at her surroundings. Six... no seven Cardassian bodies; partially decomposed and only recognizable by their predominate neck ridges that had not yet wasted away. "What happened here?" the commander asked her First Officer, but it was quite clear.
"It appears they were all shot by phasers." Hope replied.
"Before the blast by the ship?" The timing was important.
The Commander nodded.
"That's consistent, I suppose, with my hypothesis. The Cardassians, unfortunately," she rubbed her neck ridges in angst, "seem to have been involved in some sort of Ilium trade. They were probably caught by the miners before the Romulan ship intervened. There is probably more than one culprit at work here."
The site of seven Cardassians dead brought back images of the Dominion War, of which Konal had the unfortunate experience of losing many family members to. She sat down, feeling a bit light headed. "Are you OK?" Commander Hope asked, to which Konal replied "yes... I just need to think." Commander Manto relaxed against the bulk-head she was leaning against, appearing to reflect upon the situation, but in actuality she was trying to gain her bearings.
Eventually, the fog cleared from her mind, and she arose. "I think we all need to get back to the Hanson. I need to talk to Admiral Drew."
At this time Commander Hope stepped aside, revealing a young girl.
"Bring her too, I guess," Manto said confused.
Cadet D'ville arrived with his Human prisoner, and Konal explained the situation of the suspected phaser fight between they and the Cardassian. The human was being held for questioning, and D'ville, showing signs of Security Officer in him, for only being a Science Officer, proudly chimed in his two cents.
"I suppose we have a few people to bring back," Konal smiled, light headed. Her tricorder indicated the USS Hanson was within beam-out range, and her suggestion was legitimate. She had enough information to crack the confusion... if only she could talk to Admiral Drew.
"Of course, I defer to you, Commander Hope."

Just before Admiral Drew left the bridge to get some rest, a Trill commander stepped off the turbolift and took command of the bridge. No sooner had the turbolift doors closed on the sight Admiral Drew, then the Commander barked, "Report! What's going on here? You!" She pointed directly at Megan and moved towards her. "Where is that dratted Cardassian woman?" she demanded.
Megan eyes widened and her mouth dropping open in shock, but she recovered quickly and replied, “Ma’am, we have arrived at the outpost. An away team, including Commander Manto and Commander Hope, and the Graeme are at the outpost, and a Romulan warbird is holding position nearby. There’s a phaser fight taking place on the Romulan bridge, and we received a brief transmission of surrender from people claiming to be Starfleet officers. Admiral Drew ordered a tractor beam, but it’s gone off line. Cadet Alex is working on restoring it now.”
The commander opened her mouth, most likely to demand something else, but at that moment, Cadet Alex contacted Megan to inform her that the tractor beam was now online and had been turned off like the warp core. However, Megan never got the chance to acknowledge him or ask about the sensors.
“Acknowledged. Bridge out. Tractor the warbird, now.” Commander Meri ordered brusquely, somewhat in Commander Daya’s direction.
Megan and everyone on the bridge turned to their stations intent on not drawing the attention of the irritable Trill. Unfortunately for Megan, upon turning back to her station, sensors began to pick up information that needed to be reported.
“Commander, I’m not detecting continued phaser fire on the Romulan bridge, and someone has transported from the warbird to the outpost.” Megan reported as she continued to track the location of the transport. “Whoever it was beamed near the location of the away team, Ma’am.” Megan added after confirming.
Just then the ops station began to beep signaling an incoming transmission. Turning back to her station, Megan traced the comm signal to the Romulan bridge. As the communiqué was coming in, Megan worked to clear up sensor resolution on the outpost. The radiation from the mining operation was making it difficult to pick up anything other than the strong commbadge signals of the away team.
The third recalibration worked, and as the sensor resolution cleared Megan could see that the away team was all in one location. With them were three other lifesigns. Taking a closer look, Megan discovered them to be a young human female, an unidentified human male, and a Romulan male. If Megan had to take a guess, she would say the Romulan hadn’t just beamed down for a chat…

Cmdr. Ramat glared at the current Starfleet officers. He cleared his throat.
"Excuse me, but you seem to have overlooked someone," he said politely. His eyes darted back and forth among those in front of him.
Cadet Grey gently wiggled her fingers at Beckah signaling her to stand close and out of sight. Beckah, understanding with the wisdom of a child, scurried behind the nearest console.
"The rest of you may go," Ramat continued, "but I insist that Cmdr. Hope remain. We have a great deal to talk about."
<Manto/Hope>
"Oh, yes, I did expect you to protest. I am prepared for such an action." Ramat moved foreward quickly, grabbed the commander's arm, pulled her backward with him, the phaser held to her neck. "You might live, but I assure you that it won't be a pleasant life."
The moment caught everyone in mid-stride. Lucy could only think of one thing: The good of the many outweight the good of the one. She was about to unsheath her phaser when the door behind them opened with a swoosh.
Two Vulcans stood in the doorway, rifles trained on the occupants. Beckah screamed again, her voice high and shrill.

S'reena nodded for Manto to take Grey and the girl and head back to the Graeme, along with the two young men she had with her. "I am not going to-" She never could finish her phrase as she was forcibly yanked back and she fell wisely silent as she felt the phaser press against the base of her neck.
The both of them turned when the girl screamed at the sight of two Vulcans entering the room. "Hold your fire!" S'reena called to them, "take my collegues and leave. If you fire your weapons you risk hitting my officers and cadets!"
The two Vulcans nodded impassively, recognizing the authority of the Romulan starfleet officer. Silently, they ushered Manto, the girl and the three cadets from the room. Once they were gone, S'reena took a deep breath and shook the Romulan off. "You know who I am, yet you still have not given me your name," she stated coldly. "Are you without honour? You must be, attacking women from behind in such cowardly fashion as you did."
She intended to anger him, lure him into making a mistake so she could overpower him. So far, it didn't seem to be working. "You have me here now, alone. What do you want and make it quick for I have no desire to stay much longer in a room with a coward like you." Calling a Romulan a coward was a grave insult, S'reena remembered. A rather vivid memory, as she had been called such in the past, and those doing so hadn't come away from it unscathed either.
Hanson Dharma glared at the science cadet, giving her a look of such disdain that it made the young woman cringe ever so slightly. "Helm, get us to that outpost and see if you can contact the away team." She glared back at Garrett. "Tell that cadet in engineering I want full power to shields and weapons. We are no match for a warbird! Well? Snap to it!"
The Trill watched as the cadet sprang into action and with a satisfied, smug grin on her face, she sank down in the command chair. "Make finding the cadets a priority, our officers can quite handle themselves."

Ashley left with the rest of the group he walked quickly to the front of the group with his PaDD in his hand. With a couple of key stroke he had connected to the Grahame via the open tricorder's emergency link.
A couple more key tap he had the computer lock on and beam the away team to the shuttle and added the child in that was in Grey's arms.
They arrived in the shuttle.
He turn and awaited further orders, he knew that they only had a couple of minutes before Romulan and guards arrived.

The glare Megan received in response to her report was filled with such contempt had anyone who had observed it would have thought Megan had killed the Trill’s mother. Megan, who was certainly not accustomed to such undeserved wrath, cringed involuntarily. Apparently satisfied, Commander Meri turned away and ordered, "Helm, get us to that outpost and see if you can contact the away team."
She still wasn’t done with Megan, however, and turning back, she ordered, "Tell that cadet in engineering I want full power to shields and weapons. We are no match for a warbird!”
Megan opened her mouth to inform the Commander about the bad shape of the warbird and how few lifesigns were aboard, but the Trill was apparently uninterested in information she didn’t ask for or even the slightest delay in the following of her orders, and glaring, barked, “Well? Snap to it!"
Megan, forcing back a sigh, turned to her consol before contacting Alex. “Cadet Garrett to Cadet Alex. We need full power to shield and weapons. Garrett out.”
The Commander, apparently feeling quite pleased with herself, sat down in the command chair and threw over her shoulder, "Make finding the cadets a priority, our officers can quite handle themselves."
Megan glanced around the bridge trying to gage the reactions of the more seasoned officers, but they were all bent over the consoles quite focused on whatever they were doing. “I suppose everyone else is used to her…” she thought as she turned back to the sensor readings on her screen.
In the time it had taken to appease the Commander, two more lifesigns had been added to the group on the outpost, both Vulcan. Also, the away team, the unidentified girl and man, as well as the Vulcans were now aboard the Graeme, leaving Commander Hope and the other Romulan alone in the previously full room.
Silently cursing Commander Meri, Megan quickly scanned the sensor logs to find out what had happened while she’d been distracted before once again taking her life into her hands and reporting, “Commander, the away team, minus Commander Hope is now aboard the Graeme along with four others.”
“And just where is Commander Hope and what does she think she’s doing?!” Commander Meri interrupted with obvious irritation.
Gritting her teeth slightly, Megan replied, “I can’t tell what she’s doing, Ma’am, but she’s still on the outpost with the Romulan who transported to the surface.”
Megan once again held back from voicing her opinion. If the Trill disliked un-requested information, she could only imagine how she felt about un-requested opinions. Instead, Megan decided to open a channel with the away team.
“Will SOMEONE get me the away team, NOW?!” Commander Meri bellowed at the top of her lungs, or at least Megan hoped that was the top…
Glad she had been halfway through the process of opening a link, Megan forced a comm signal in and opened a channel. “I have an audio channel open with the away team now, Ma’am.” Megan reported as she completed the connection and opened the channel on the bridge, hoping that would help pacify the Trill.

Daya couldnt believe what he was hearing, although he had been onboard the hanson for many months, he had never worked with this commander. Her actions and words were uneeded, and obviously hurtful towards the cadet she aimed her verbal attacks at. However, Daya was more surprised to see the young cadet handling herself very well, even with all that had been happening. Daya had continued to moniter his station, although he already knew he had power to both the weapons and sheilds, as well as the tracker beam fully operational.
He still had a concern about the sabatour onboard, and that needed to handled very soon. Bringing up a message, he quickly typed in a few words, and sent it to cadet Alex, down in engineering.
Cadet Alex, we need to figure out a way to trap our sabatour, try to convince him we are using the transporters in transporter room 3, to beam aboard our away team. I will get a security team standing by to capture him. Daya out

IRW Kraken Personal Log--Gideon Lash
So close! So very close! We almost had it all, if the others hadn't meddled and turned on us. And it's priceless! Ilium-629. Enough to 'feed' the hungry of the quadrant--and addictive enough to make them always want more. No cure for this bad boy. We had it made.
And then they got greedy. Oh, yes! Greedy. In all the history of the universe, it's the same sad story. Greed!
But they don't know who they're dealing with, do they? Oh, no! Not that infatuated fool Ramat--dare he strike me again!--nor those on the cargo vessel light-years from here. They left seventeen barrels behind on the outpost. A mere twitch of a finger and it's beamed aboard here, mine and no one else's. Hah! Seventeen barrels. Fools!
The Kraken is mine now. I just beamed StarFleet off to the ridiculous Hanson. In their confusion, they won't notice that I've gone to warp. That poor disabled warbird--where did it go? Seventeen barrels of Ilium. They'll never find me again.
As for Ramat--he's a dead man. Died for love. Pity, that.
Close personal log.
"Energize, sub-commander. Warp factor 8. Take us out of here."
