David returned his full attention to his console as his instructor mentioned that she was taking her leave. He began running an ion intricle scan, just in case there was another ship in a parallel warp stream. He uncovered nothing and began running a simple diagnostic on his own sensors. This was exactly why there were two sensory systems on a starship so that one could confirm the findings of the other. However, if both were faulty that would prove disastrous.
He studied his results and noticed another power spike building in the environmental controls. This was starting to get annoying and dangerous, this power spike was easy to sort out; however, it was twice as powerful as the first.
"Captain, I am picking up repeated energy spikes from the environmental control systems and I am attempting to located the source," he said plainly and continued as his results came much faster than he'd thought they would, "Environmental control on decks three and four are reporting unusual power fluctuations.
"I am to infer that this is the general location and I recommend a diagnostic team be deployed to solve the problem before it gets worse," he continued per protocol for his station.

Adislo walked quickly along one of the corridors she was allowed in. She didn't actually have anywhere to go, but she found the fast walking helped her relax. And she was very tense just now. She had to prepare to negotiate, and if she failed people would die. And it would be best if she didn't go into the situation jumpy. Not that she currently saw any way to avoid that. She had gotten fed up with reading when her eyes wouldn't follow the page.
Adislo didn't quite know why she was so tense. She usually wasn't this bad, even when she had negotiated for the lives of the miners, she had felt in control of the situation. Adislo supposed that this was because she had all the time to think about it, and she wasn't exactly sure of the situation she was going into. And she was, if he showed up, going to be working with an assistant. Which, rather than simplifying things, complicated them.
Adislo realized she had walked through this corridor five times now. And one of the Starfleet officers was starting to look at her a little suspiciously. She went back to her quarters, but soon grew restless again. She studied the map, and realized she had been everywhere but sickbay. She sighed, and left her quarters, she knew she should drop by sickbay at some point anyway.
She walked there, and looked around for the Chief Medical Officer. She wasn't sure who it was, so she just waited in sickbay until someone noticed her.

Derek was listening to Jordan as she talked about her morning. "I was never a morning person. I always have to have at least two cups of coffee in the morning" "Jorden look derek i was not always a morning person i loved to try an sleep in that of course before i joined starfleet. "But now days i get up early to get more done so i can have time for myself an even for friends she smiled at derek then at john "Then jorden still hope to meet commander parker for instructions at tactical all though she continue to work at tactical station.

TJ listened to the interchange among the cadets. They certainly were getting into the situation at hand!
He did his best to follow Cadet Darmekโs long line of instructions, let some proceed through and blocked others.
โWhile thโ rest oโ your thoughts might be good indeed, โtis callinโ a halt I am tโ two of them," he said. "At least, for thโ time beinโ.
โNo torpedoes will be fired at this time. Thโ result oโ such action would escalate thโ situation tโ thโ point thโ cloaked vessel โ if thatโs indeed what it is โ would return fire in kind. An' we'd then find ourselves responsible for actions leadin' t' war. An' I, for one, prefer not t' play th' part o' Mrs. O'Leary's cow!" he said with a grin.
โAnโ as tโ thโ medical DNA checks oโ thโ crew," TJ continued, "โtis not thinkinโ I am that weโre that far along yet in thโ need for it.
โI do agree, however,โ mused TJ, โthat thโ diagnostics should be run tโ locate anโ solve thโ problem.โ
At that point, there was a whoosh! at the Bridge hatchway, and Commander Parker strode in.

OOC: Well, the root of the word Tactical is tactics, therefore I would assume that you are supposed to keep the ship prepared for any possible attack. If there are in fact two sensory systems on a starship, and I'd think there would be, I imagine one of them would be geared to the Tactical station. Along with weapons control and shields.
IC: David continued his ion scans and caught a glimer of something unusual. At first he thought it was another power spike causing more trouble with his sensors. However, this was a different reading altogether.
"Captain, I am picking up a very vague ion trail off our port bow," he said, "It could be the exhaust from a badly cloaked ship trying to keep up with us, but it's is very faint and doesn't seem to be in any position to strike at the ship. Their position, if that is their accurate position, is not a tactical one. This may explain our initial reports of a decloaking and recloaking ship."

Alex had been in her office reading over reports making sure things were going well with the crew. She thought about having crew and cadet evaluations, but thought better of it right now. Alex knew they were doing their best in the mission. She decided she would make sure they were fit enough if there was an away team.
Alex was about to immerse herself in reports and such again, but she heard a voice, one which didn't seem familiar. She got up and stretched, walking out to see who might have come to visit her now.
She noticed it was the ambassador. "Hello, how may I help you, ma'am?"
Alex listened to her, and smiled.
"Well if that is all, then I don't see why you can't come visit us. It can't be good to be bored. Perhaps we can discuss something of sorts in my office over a cup of tea or something," Alex said still smiling remembering to be nice.

OOC: This is a joint post between myself and Doctor Alex Nikmud. My words are in light blue, hers are the normal color.
IC: โI'm Ambassador Adislo,โ Adislo introduced herself. โThere's just not all that much for me to do,โ Adislo said, not quite wanting to admit the real reason she had come down to sickbay. It would be more polite to make conversation a little first. Adislo wasn't ashamed or anything like that, after all, the only thing was that she was allergic, but she had a tendency to dance around the subject a little first.
โPerhaps we can discuss something of sorts in my office over a cup of tea or something,โ Alex said.
โ'Or something' might be better,โ Adislo said, smiling. โWhich is part of the slight problem I have, aside from the more pressing one of boredom.โ Adislo grinned, her head tilted upward very slightly to meet the doctor's eyes. โI'm supposed to be negotiating, which often means sharing meals, but there's a rather high probability I'll be allergic to it,โ Adislo said, realizing that the doctor might want her to explain the allergy more.
Alex sighed and realized the ambassador was here on business, not pleasure. She remembered a few things, and did her best to remember she was the doctor, and that no one would come to talk to her just because. They would always need something from her. Suddenly she felt used. "Well, come and tell me more about this allergy. What kind of things are you allergic to, and what happens when you are exposed to them?"
Adislo noticed Alex's sigh, but wasn't quite sure what to think of it. โIt's not much, just most earth foods. And depending on the alien's world, the foods might be similar. I think it's the difference of chemicals in the ground, but I'm not sure,โ Adislo said. โBut as to what happens, the last, and first, time I ate a lot of it I was twelve, so I don't remember all that well. It affected my lungs and I was having trouble breathing. I ended up having to go to a hospital,โ Adislo said. Her parents had reminded her again and again that the doctors at the hospital had saved her life. They had wanted her to be a doctor herself, but instead they had given her an impression of doctors as very close to being all-powerful and incredibly hard-working. Neither of which had really made her want to go into the medical profession.
Alex wondered how to fix this. "Well, I am not sure how I can help on this unless we know exactly what is causing it. Chemicals respond to medicine easy enough, but what works for one chemical doesn't necessarily work for a second one. We need to pinpoint what it is, or...." she started to say having an idea. She wasn't sure it was a good one though.
โOr what?โ Adislo asked. She hadn't considered the fact that the doctor might be able to come up with a long-term solution to this. Adislo had thought just a simple one or two day inoculation would be available, but nothing more complicated.
"Well, since we don't know what is causing this, it might be important to have medical aide near you at these things, so you don't kill yourself just trying to be polite by eating something," Alex said, and regretted having said it like that, it sounded way too blunt.
โI never had any plans to kill myself,โ Adislo replied, amused, rather than offended. โAnd if I did I can think of much easier ways to do it. But frankly doctor, if I have a medical aide at all meals and refuse to eat their food, I think that would come across as a sign that I don't even trust them not to poison my food.โ
"I realize that, but if you do eat the food to show that you trust them, then a doctor being at your side would be best, so someone is there to make sure you aren't harmed because of your allergies. Oh, and if you are thinking of ending your life, you are in the wrong area. I don't know if the counsellor is available right now, but you could always check," the doc said teasing the ambassador a little.
โYes, I'm sure the counselor would know what to do with a depressed ambassador. He or she would probably try to convince me that the best thing would for me to just go ahead and kill myself. Counselors can be funny that way,โ Adislo said. Not that she'd ever really talked to one, except after her uncle died and the Bolian front was restored to the Federation, and her parents had taken to her one. The counselor then had tried desperately to convince young Adislo that she was suppressing her shattered feeling. The counselor had kind of succeeded, assuming making Adislo want to strangle the counselor was succeeding. โBut if I do have an allergic reaction it might convince whoever isn't serving the food that the other side poisoned it. Do you just have some way I could unobtrusively test the food, so I could maybe find something I could eat?โ Adislo asked.
"I don't think we have anything like that, sorry ambassador. Do you think there is a way to figure out what you were eating then? Is there some record as to what hurt you last time?" She asked still intrigued with this. "Oh, and if you have a doctor with you, don't you think we could convince them you are allergic to their food?"
โI'm not sure about that,โ Adislo said. โThey might not believe me, politicians can be irrational that way. That's mostly why ambassadors are needed in the first place.โ
"It can't be good you are depressed. If only you weren't allergic to human food, then maybe we could help you feel better. I have heard, even though it isn't healthy, chocolate makes people feel better in the depression area, too bad though," she said, wondering what the ambassador was going to do to Alex with her teasing Adislo like this.
โIt was some kind of candy,โ Adislo said, not feeling very helpful about this. โI don't really remember-โ Adislo broke off. The doctor's words had sparked a memroy. Her uncle had brought her and her siblings some sort of candy-chocolate, Adislo thought he had called it, from Earth, where he was stationed. Her older brother had bit into his piece quickly, and pronounced it delicious. Adislo had believed him and taken a large bit out of her own chocolate bar. Adislo blinked suddenly a few times, then glanced back up a little at the doctor. โIt was chocolate, I think,โ Adislo finished. โSo I guess your cure-all isn't quite going to work.โ
"Well, I guess not, maybe a few hours with a nutty person might help you though, as for the allergies, well, are we sure it was just chocolate?" she said concerned a little
โYou mean I should spend more time with you?โ Adislo asked, responding to the nutty person remark, teasing the doctor some. โI'm not entirely sure, no. I could ask my mother or father,โ Adislo volunteered. โThey might know, though they were at work when my uncle gave the candy.โ
"Then maybe we should talk to your uncle. He would know better than anyone right now. I could give you something to ward off the effects of chocolate just in case, but without knowing fully what you are and aren't allergic to, I respectfully request you have someone medical with you at all times down there. As for the nutty person, yes I think I was volunteering. I don't have anything pressing to do, and being in one of the positions that is mostly feared by children and old men, it isn't like they are going to be flocking to me any time soon," she said and a smile slowly spread across her face.
Adislo grinned at the doctor. โSure, I'll take you up on that then.โ But then her smile faded slightly. โWe can't talk to my uncle. He died, four years later, when I was sixteen.โ Adislo glanced at the floor, suddenly unwilling to make eye contact. Her uncle's death was the main reason she couldn't forgive Aeryn and Darzi for joining Starfleet.

OOC: A small example of how you can make an elaborate post without actually saying much in it. This post could have been as short as "Mr Pemberton, go to the holodeck and practise some manoeuvres" but I'll try to show you all how you can 'gift-wrap' that oneliner.
IC:
So far, everything had been quiet at the helm.
Although a couple of cadets on the bridge were going on about hostile ships uncloaking and raising the shields, Seth was sure that it was probably an (intentional) glitch in the sensors. It would be something for engineering to look after and judging the calmness that TJ was in (even calmer than usual) you would expect that he wasn't worried about a thing.
Or, that he took heavy sedatives, but that wouldn't ensure a very long carreer at starfleet anymore. Especially not as an officer, no captain, on an academy ship.
Judging previous missions, Seth decided that it would be the first option.
Seth was forced to go to the holodeck if he wanted to do some extra training, all the other missions wouldn't have any need for a helmsman and this one could be more or less of the same.
Seth knew that his cadet was eager to get some action, and staying at the helm while nothing was happening wouldn't get him that action. At times like these Seth wondered why he had become a CNO, but it was still the lives of the entire crew that depended on his course of action. Things like that just couldn't be automated, he read in a report about Section 47's ship "The Raven". They had installed an "intelligent" gel-pack in it's system, which turned out to be more like a virus, taking over the ship and endangering the crew.
*But back to reality* Seth thought, as he still wanted to train his cadet and he wouldnยดt do that by wandering off in his own thoughts.
"Mr Pemberton." Seth asked. "Would you care to join me to the holodeck? I would like to run you through a couple of simulations."

"Sir if we are under attack the captian would want me here right." He turned to Commander Bern. Commander bern then looked at him and nodded no.
Chris got out of his chair and walked to the elevator and went to his deck and to his room. He grabbed his padd and a Starship Academy Flight manuel. As he was walking towards the elevator he walked into the wall as he was reading his padd. "Ouch." Geez I'm just as clumsy as I was at the academy.
Chris arrived at the holodeck he walked up to commander bern. "Sir I' am here for extra training."

David turned back toward the cadet that had addressed him and sighed.
"Their trail is still there, but even more faint than before," he responded simply, "If they were trying to keep pace with us they either weren't up to it or they thought better of it. This doesn't read like any Romulan vessel I've ever tracked before. Of course, I am not entirely sure my sensors haven't been affected by whatever damage the power spikes have caused, but my original diagnostic was clear."
He turned back toward Cadet Darmek.
"Tactical, can you confirm an ion trail off the port bow and fading?" David asked plainly hoping that something wasn't wrong with his sensors.

Scientific tactical sensor's confirm your findings im am giving u access to tactical sensor there immune to sensor ghosts and werenโt affected by the power surge but I recommend you keep and eye on your ops and standard sensors tactical sensors donโt have half the detail
captain that ion trial is not consistent with any vessel capable of being a tactical match for the hepta

But she rub her temples her breathing labor the pain was blinding as again piece her again as the world went black.

David quickly reviewed the tactical findings and found the ion markers were consistent.
"Yes, it is confirmed, Captain," David said, "There is a ship off our port bow, but it is not a likely threat to the Hepta or her mission. Perhaps they are attempting to observe us."
Suddenly, David remembered something his father once mentioned to him about the Denebolans' paranoia and their lack of strategic brilliance. He compared the ion markers to known Denebolan cruiser classes.
"Sir, I believe we are being tracked by a Denebolan ship, my readings indicate that it is a Ceca class cruiser," David said with a grimace, "Very old and nearly obsolete. I wonder how they are managing to function with a cloak at all, sir."

David backed up as his console went dead and turned to face the captain.
"The last two power spikes both emanated from the environmental control matrix on deck two. I suggest that be the first place to send our diagnostics crews," David said, now starting to get a bit nervous.
He was unsure what to do and he waited to hear the captain's response before he did anything hasty. He'd once had a simulation like this that had required him to run the operations system through the auxiliary station in Engineering. However, he just wasn't sure and he didn't want to make a mistake that could not only cost him the captain's confidence but the Hepta its operational readiness.

Kosh sudden realizes that deck one, three, and four all have there life support provided by deck 2 he jumps away from the tactical consol pushes a medical ensign out of the way makes his way to environmental control consol turns all atmosphere generators on deck five to full and say computer restrict all turbo lift access to levels 5 through one open all turbo lift on those deck and arrack a level three force field around the turbo lift door going on and of a at 0.000,08 second open all Jefferies tube hatches turn toward the captain with no remorse for the higher ranking officer he nearly nock of her feet and says
Captain if those environmental systems on deck two are not back on line with in 5 hours the bridge will no longer be habitable I suggest hailing that ion trail immediately

David looked at Kosh and decided that perhaps it was worth it to be wrong.
"Give me a minute in Engineering, Kosh and I can have those systems rerouted through the matrix on deck four," David said taking to his feet, he motioned for the reserve OPS officer to take his station as he headed for the turbo lift, "Keep an eye on that cruiser and I'll mention the break down on deck two to the Chief Engineer. Hopefully, we will have everything settled long before we have to worry about losing the bridge."
He entered the turbolift and sped down to Upper Engineering.
Once he arrived at his destination he quickly moved to the auxilary vox station and brought up emergence OPS procedures.
*Emergency procedures in action, auxilarly power supply accessible*
He quickly reestablished his link into the Operational systems core and began rerouting vital systems manually through the environmental controls on deck four. He looked up and noticed the Chief Engineer busily running about trying to return the warp core to its fully operational status.
"Commander, we need a Diagnostics crew on deck two as soon as possible," he said, "No telling when or if another one of those spikes will start to build."
He then tapped his combadge.
"OPS station to Bridge, Captain necessary systems have been rerouted and I have operational control restored here in Engineering," he said, "Awaiting further orders."

"OPS station to Bridge, Captain necessary systems have been rerouted and I have operational control restored here in Engineering," he said, "Awaiting further orders." "'Tis fine, me lad. Return t' th' Bridge."
TJ turned to Commander Parker, who was standing by the cadet at the Tactical Console.
"Commander Parker," he began with an almost-friendly tone, "me own personal feelin' is t' hail th' ghost that's been followin' us. If th' Denebolan ship is in distress, an' unable t' summon assistance, perhaps we can provide it, an', as such, make th' ambassador's job a wee bit easier.
"Now 'tis knowin' I am that they might be unable t' reply, but I'm for attemptin' it. If there is no response, no harm is done. Perhaps it might then be possible, as an alternative, t' send a holographic image offerin' any needed assistance?"
Commander Parker frowned. That might be all well and good, but he had heard too many stories of ships with masked technologies who used that type of deceit to lure intended victims into their web of violence โ victims who had never seen the light of the next day. Besides, they had the ambassador aboard, and their assignment was to get her to the negotiation site safely.
"I'm against the idea, sir. The appearance of a weak vessel has been used before to great military advantage. I recommend we not stop; or if we do, prepare to arm ourselves against possible attack."
TJ nodded slowly. As a former security officer, he knew that Commander Parker was right. Such procedures had turned the tide decisively in many famous battles of history from as far back as the Trojan War.
"Agreed. But first th' attempt at communication. Open a channel t' th' Denebolan ship...."

David quickly transfered his data back to his position on the bridge and nodded to the engineers as he made his way back to the turbolift.
In a few moments he was back on the bridge and taking his seat once again. He brought up the OPS Engineering transfer and re-accessed his link into the sensory network. Immediately, he noticed that the ship's position had changed.
"Captain, the cruiser has moved closer to our warp stream. If they continue at their present rate, they may come into contact with our warp stream. That could not only destroy their ship, but could affect the Hepta, as well," David said.
