“Mr. O’Connor, might I ask ye t’ issue a summons for all department heads t’ attend in th’ Briefin’ Room, along with their cadets? ‘Tis time I let ye all know what our assignment is this time out.”
TJ could hardly keep back the smile, and a twinkle birthed from fascination enlived his eyes as he left the Bridge to share with his senior officers and the new cadets the particulars of the current mission.
All officers and cadets being present, TJ was anxious to let the crew in on what he had discussed with Commandant ONE.
”’Tis well aware I am, ladies an’ gentlemen,” he opened, “that me face is an open book t’ me feelin’s. When I’m excited, it shows, an’ shows well.
“Earlier today, in th’ Commandant’s office, I was briefed on our current mission. ‘Tis one fraught with danger, an’ yet one that holds fascination for me because of its possible connection with ancient earth history.
“Over th’ past months there have been incidents occurrin’ that are brutal in th’ extreme. Both civilian vessels an’ our own starships, those o’ th’ Romulans an’ o’ th’ Klingons, have been attacked by a ship that will only permit a small handful o’ survivors, sendin’ them on their way in their damaged vessel with a warnin’ from th’ enemy commander that’s th’ same every time: ‘Tremble at th’ name o’ Andromache.’
Yet ‘tis not that I find interestin’, so much as who’s perpetratin’ th’ deeds.”
Flicking a toggle switch in the table in front of him, TJ displayed a photograph from the Hepta library’s history banks. The figure was a woman, tall and strong. Her Phrygian helmet added another half-meter to her stature, making her seem even more tall. She wore close fitting leopard skin, covering her completely, except for her head and hands, and over the leopard pelt was a loose-fitting, sleeveless chiton that came down to mid-thigh and was belted with a leather cord. Her feet were shod with leather boots that reached to mid-calf. On her left arm was a crescent-shaped shield, and her right hand held a double-edged battle-ax. Her features, otherwise attractive, were twisted in anger and rage.
“This is a picture from th’ Hepta’s ancient history archives of an Asiatic Amazon from th’ fifteenth century BC. ‘Tis very like th’ reports o’ th’ survivors o’ th’ raids concernin’ th’ dress o’ their attackers.
“We’re thinkin’ th’ crimes are bein’ committed by th’ same persons, since in each case th’ captain o’ th’ attackin’ vessel seems t’ be th’ same. Our job, shipmates, is t’ bring these marauders t’ justice, t’ be tried on Federation soil by a jury representative of all of those they’ve victimized.
“Are there any questions?”
There bein’ no more questions, me friends an’ shipmates,” TJ said with a smile, “Shall we br gettin' t’ work?”

Seth waited for all the questions to be posed and answered and then turned back to cadet Rosewall.
"You certainly did your homework cadet, but there is one more thing I do myself, something that isn't listed in the book" he said, and Keon gave him a puzzled look.
"I always check the engines status with engineering, it's not really a necessity, but I like keeping contact with everyone aboard, as long as it is convenient." Seth saw that Keon agreed, so he continued. "I would love to see you perform this departure mr Rosewall, to see whether it is as spotless as your theory. There is one thing that I would like you to ask before I give you the official command though. What were those other activities that you were involved in last mission?"
<Keon>
"I see," Seth said, being glad that the final decision of this cadet was becoming a helmsman. "At the moment we are just waiting for the official command to pull out. If you want you can do some routines to see whether everything is working correctly. Last mission it turned out that some odd things were going on with the maneuvering thrusters, their standard values were kind of odd, which caused them to operate at twice the speed that they were supposed to operate. You might want to check that out. Everything should be working correctly, but you just never know."

OFF: I'll post this for Roz and Jordan.
ON: Roz came to the Briefing Room and sat down. Jordan followed shortly after and Draco perched on her shoulder. They listened to TJ in utter amazement. Amazons? Roz thought. As Jordan listened to TJ, she remembered that she hadn't gotten him down to sickbay for a routine physical last mission like she said she would. She smiled inwardly and she sensed Draco smile as well. You're quite determined, he told her. Jordan just smiled. TJ then asked for any questions and none were raised. Jordan then approached TJ with a determined look on her face.
Jordan: You are to report to sickbay when the course is set for your routine physical. I let it slide last mission but I don't think it'll slide this time captain.
TJ seemed to gulp and he nodded. Roz overheard a bit of the conversation and smiled. She did have something to say to TJ but thought that she would mention it when he went down to sickbay as there would be time from the walk from the bridge to sickbay would be enough time to discuss it with him then.
=Later= Roz approached TJ, who still hadn't made a move towards the turbolift to go to sickbay, and spoke softly.
Roz: Sir, may I speak with you for a moment?
TJ: Certainly. In here.
They stepped into the ready room and Roz spoke.
Roz: I have a question and comment about the Amazons but I didn't want to put you in an awkward situation in front of others.
TJ nodded and faced her.
Roz: I can see by their clothing that these aren't the typical Amazons people think of nowadays but I assume they do hold the same attitudes as perceived?
TJ's brow furrowed.
TJ: What sort of attitudes are you referin' t'?
Roz: Such as their attitudes towards men. I have a slight feeling that when they make contact with us...
She paused and looked at TJ with an expression of Sorry TJ.
Roz: I don't think it would be wise if you or any man responds sir.

Joan wasn't surprised that there was trouble. It seemed to follow her on every mission. She understood that things happened, but like this? Last time it was a ship wide abductions, now people are getting hurt. Why does this always happen, she thinks, while in the briefing. With no cadet to turn to, she scatters to get a report from engineering. She isn't happy with the report, but she remains on the bridge for the time being.
Lt. Johnson didn't like the news at all, but she didn't show it in her face or body language. She looks at her cadet watching to see what she will do, while listening to the captain. When it is over they return to their station. "Well, cadet, how did it go with engineering? Those glitches fixed? I hope so, we need to focus on keeping the ship clear of anything that might go wrong in the power feeds." She says hoping things went well with the engineer. She looks at the cadet, who doesn't look like she likes giving the response she is going to give.
<Anderson>
"Alright, cadet, go and continue to fix the problem. Joan McCormick is at the Engineering station as of right now. I will continue to man our station." She says not exactly happy, but she doesn't show she is irritated either. As the cadet left, a message from earth came. She looked, and found it was to the doctor, so she forwarded it to sickbay. She also noticed several other reports coming in, and dealt with them one by one.

The briefing was something that Paikea didn't pay much attention to. He really wanted to, but the subject of their mission was sad to say boring him. He knew that it wouldn't in the end, but studying ancient civilization's wasn't one of his hobbies. He always did hate history in high school.
“Are there any questions?”
Paikea wanted to ask some questions, but he realized that he didn't know much about the topic. When it seemed that there were no questions, the Catpain adjourned the meeting. As soon as the briefing was over, Paikea realized that he had to work very hard to suppress a yawn. He didn't want his instructors or crew mates to think that he didn't' care about their mission, that was so far from the truth.
"Are you sleeping Cadet?" Commander Penfold asked. Paikea knew that his face was now very red. Paikea was cursing himself in his head. How stupid are you Paikea thought. Paikea knew that this was one of his most embarrassing moments in his life.
"No sir, its just that," Paikea started before the Commander stopped him.
"I won't tell no one if you won't," Commander Penfold said with a smile. "By the way I will explain the mission to later." Commander Ford had been talking to a Lt. since the end of the meeting, so it had taken him a while to get to where Paikea and the Commander Penfold were.
"Well Cadet Paikea, are you ready to officially start your training mission?" Commander Ford asked.
"Yes sir," Paikea said with a huge smile on his face. He had already been doing some scans and diagnostics, but that was before the mission had really started. As Paikea and his two instructors walked to wards the science console, Paikea realized that he was the only science cadet around. He would really have two instructors. That would mean there would always be somewhere to make sure he didn't make a mistake. Well I guess its better for me, Paikea thought as he sat down at the console.
Paikea quickly went on to activate a few other scans that he had not taken yet. For some reason his instructors had not said something yet. Maybe they were waiting for him to mess up. No sooner had he thought that, that his console started beeping at him.
"Commanders I don't know what went wrong?" Paikea asked in confusion.
<Tag Ford or Penfold>
After the Commanders explained what he had done wrong, Paikea continued to work. It was going well, but once they tended to some other duties. Paikea couldn't help but take in the view. It was magnificent. This was what he had dreamt about since he was a little boy. He was now serving on a Federation vessel. He was training to be a Starfleet officer just like his Uncle had been.

Katie felt bad, she wanted to get the problem fixed before the Captain's meeting, but she didn't want to be late to the meeting because of the problem. Katie walked up to the woman Lt. Johnson had pointed out.
"I'm sorry to bother you, but we have a slight power distrabution problem. Lt. Johnson sent me up here to have you help me out and take a look at it."

During the breifing, Cyle had actually payed attention, which surprised him, he was not the type to listen to a lecture, but the subject of amazonian women and cought his mind.
He always loved the subject of histroy, and ancient earth histroy was no exception, he loved to read about the warriors of old, and enjoyed watching films on them in his quarters.
When asked if there were any questions, none came to his mind. 'maybe one will come to me later' he thought as he stayed in his chair, watching as the others leaved.
Few of the others actualy looked at him, he could they were either afriad to speak to him, or didnt want his attitude. 'well, thats fine with me' he thought. He walked over to his instructor, and stood behind him, waiting for for some instruction.
OFF. i have no idea what a marine should do at the moment,

"... What were those other activities that you were involved in last mission?"
"I was assigned to the last mission as a science cadet, so I was more focused on what the ship was 'seeing' as opposed to where the ship was heading. I found it quite interesting but didn't enjoy it as much as I would have liked." Keon responded ... that and there was a lot more paperwork involved he thought to himself.
"I see," Seth said.
"Yes sir." Keon said before sitting down and running a diagnostic. While the diagnostic was running Keon's mind started to wander, the power of a Galaxy class staship's engines at his fingertips and the ability to go anywhere, he felt quite proud to be given this opportunity when quite a few of his fellow flight control cadets had been assigned to piloting shuttles.
He was brought out of his thoughts by a quiet but consistent beeping coming from his console. "Sir, the diagnostic is complete and all values are well within acceptable parameters," he told Seth. "We are good to go."
When given the order to proceed Keon brought the engines online, letting them 'warm up' while he released the docking clamps and activated the thrusters giving the ship some forward momentum. He was both scared and excited while he was doing this and due to his intense concentration he started to feel beads of sweat forming on his forehead. As the ship pulled away from the dock Keon brought the impulse engines fully online and when they were safely clear of the furtherest appendages of the spacedock he gradually brought the ship up to one quarter impulse so as not to burn out the engines.
So far so good ...

TJ sat in his chair, eyes mainly on the viewscreen, but often scanning over the cadets at the various workstations. Things were starting well, and he quietly nodded in approval.
"Mr. Rosewall, ye happen t' be headin' us nearly in th' appropriate direction. Correct, if ye will, two degrees t' starboard an' proceed t' th' location o' th' last reported incident, fifteen parsecs this side o' th' border o' Romulan space. They know we're comin' an' are welcomin' our presence an' assistance."

William listened to the briefing with interest, but in the back of his mind, he was wondering how Cadet Paikea would respond to the lastest test.
As soon as the meeting was over, and after Penfold had gently reminded Paikea to remain awake during such meetings, Ford had approached Paikea, asking him if he was ready to begin his training on the Birdge. He said he was, and William waited expectantly. Penfold, who was in on the joke, waited close by. As Paikea ran more scans, he appeared to get slightly anxious at his instructor's lack of communication. Suddenly, the console started beeping. Paikea turned towards William and Penfold.
"Commanders I don't know... what went wrong?" Paikea asked in confusion.
William grinned. "Look down, cadet."
On the console a little teddy bear (strongly resmebling a teddy grahm) bounced along the console. It was followed by a whole heard of bears. Or a pack of bears. Whatever they were called. Paikea stared at it for a moment, then looked back at his instructors accusingly.
"That was planted, wasn't it?" he guessed.
"Of course," said William. "But you can't bypass proper protocool. You should have made sure your station was in working order, just like the manual says. You never know when you could have a sabouter on board. Now, I can't remember when I last did that - must have been about a month ago, at least. Not too many officers actually run a self-diagnositc on their stations on a regular basis, but they should. And you missed that step, so your scans are messed up. As an added bonus, you get to clean up the virus that's on you console." William couldn't tell if Paikea looked unhappy at the prospect or if the cadet was looking forward to proving his ability at wiping out a virus. "I'll help you, if you can't figure it out on your own. It's not too hard, but there's several aspects about the program that might challenge you."
"Remember that part about sabouters and not slacking off, though," warned Penfold, "and make sure you understand everything you learn, both with us and other instructors. If all you learn from this mission is scientific specifics, you haven't learned anything important at all. I'll see you later," he finished, smiling.

The only good thing that he was going to get out of this was the chance to enhance his skill and work out a practical problem. As the Commander's walked off, Paikea went to work. A few seconds later he heard both of the laughing a bit loudly. That only made Paikea work harder. "Okay remember what you learned," Paikea told himself. Paikea quickly went on to check the codes that made up the virus. Paikea then for the first time really noticed the teddy bear. It turned out to be a really cute bear and Paikea couldn't' help but smile. "I'll have to get rid of you," Paikea said to the virus. "Who are you talking to Cadet?" Captain Edwards asked. Paikea quickly rose from his chair and went to attention. "Cadet don't break something," the Captain said smiling. Paikea relaxed a bit, but realized that he was going to have to tell him what his instructors had done to him. "Well about what I'm doing...." Paikea said starting off on his story. After he finished Captain Edwards laughed and said something like "those two, instructors". That made Paikea feel better as he went back to work. Paikea had to give up to his instructors, they knew there stuff, but so did Paikea. His uncle had been a science officer, so he had taught him everything that he knew. Paikea started working harder as he thought of his uncle. An hour laterPaikea was now just sitting on his station working on a self-diagnostic on his station. His instructors had finally come back from there siesta. "Welcome back sirs," Paikea said as they came to the science station. Commander Ford saw that the teddy bear was still at his station. "So cadet I see that you couldn't delete the virus," Commander Ford said," I do it for you." Paikea quickly stopped his instructor. "Please don't sir, I erased the virus, but I have kept the bear I think he's just to cute," Paikea said with a mischievous smile. He had been able to destroy the virus, and saw that his instructors weren't back so he decided to give Bobbo, the teddy bear, a new program. He would be able to help Paikea, by giving him some reminders about what he is or should be doing. Paikea didn't know if Commander Ford was usually speechless, but the Commander had not said anything yet. "Serves you right," Commander Penfold said as he laughed at William. Paikea smiled and continued to run his diagnostic. <Tag Penfold, Ford> Off: Simon, Simon my friend. ;D That was cute, funny, and a good one. But come on what did you think I'll do. :PBy the way Simon I want you to meet Bobbo the teddy bear. Bobbo this is Simon or as I call him here Commander Ford.

Joan looks up at the person speaking to her. She didn't realize things had gotten this far out of hand.
"Sure, cadet, I will be happy to take a look." She says pushing a few buttons on her console. She shakes her head, and realizes what the problem is.
"It's okay, cadet, this will only take a minute to fix. If you will follow me, then we will head to the problem and fix it. I am sorry this happened. Just a minute." She says walking over to say something to Lt. Johnson, who only nods her head without looking up from her console. Joan, then taps her communicator ordering a few things from engineering to deck six in section four before returning to the cadet.
"Okay, all set. I just wanted to let your instructor know we were leaving the bridge. I guess you know who I am, but I don't believe I caught your name." She says as they leave the bridge together. They have a short turbolift ride, in which both are silent. Joan is looking over some information on a padd. They arrive in no time, and walk down the corridor. The supplies are right where they are suppose to be, and Joan whistles amazement. She couldn't believe they had actually followed orders without her yelling.
"Okay, cadet, this will be easy enough. We open the wall here," She says showing the cadet where the exact location they are working in. "Unfortunately this section of a new system is malfunctioning, causing all the power problems. It is suppose to be designed to help stop any power surges, but unfortunately we still have a few bugs to work out. Okay, we take out these three biodisks, and replace them with these new ones." She says carefully handling the biodisks. She notices the cadet is watching her very carefully, and is glad of it. One wrong move, and, well things wouldn't be nice in that section.
"We want to be very careful with these now, or something bad could happen. We aren't one hundred percent sure what though, as no one has ever told what happens when you drop a biodisk, but I bet it wasn't pretty. I don't mean to cause any discomfort, I am just trying to be cautious. Can't ever be careful enough, at least I think so. Okay, now that they are in place, we just put the panneling back, and voila, we should be back in business." She says smiling.
"I guess you need to return to the bridge. If you are interresting in any of this, don't hesitate to ask. I would be happy to show you my job any time." She says smiling.
Lt. Johnson looked up to find Cadet Anderson had returned. "Good work, cadet. Those glitches are gone, but now I have my hands full. I could use your assistance. We are recieving reports from all over the ship. What was that?!" She says not sure of what just happened. The captain looks her way, and asks for an update.
"Go ahead, cadet, update the captain." She says making it sound more like an order than anything. She winches when she realizes what she just did, but then returns to her duties trying to find out what that bright flash was.

Cyle was looking around at he ship, he himself had never had the time to look at any ships. This was only the3rd or 4th ship he had ever been on, and the others he was on just long enough to get back off again.
Cyle touched the side of hallway, marvaling at the smoothness of it. He would enjoy being here, he thought about the glass of water amoment, then got back to reality.
OFF, still unsure as to what i should do

Off: I have a bit of back posting to do.
On:
Katie was a bit frustrated that Lt. Johnson sent her away to go ask the engineering instructor for help so quickly. She knew she could have easily fixed the problem but she was in no position to argue with her instructor on the first day. She would just have to suck it up and keep going.
Getting off the turbo lift Katie noticed a small pile of equipment laying on against the wall. She noticed Joan had whilst ed clearly showing how surprised she was to see the equipment. After she began to explain the problem with the system Joan pulled out a biodisk and began to caution Katie on the [word deleted]'s volatile characteristics.
"We want to be very careful with these now, or something bad could happen. We aren't one hundred percent sure what though, as no one has ever told what happens when you drop a biodisk, but I bet it wasn't pretty. I don't mean to cause any discomfort, I am just trying to be cautious. Can't ever be careful enough, at least I think so."
"Since these biodisk's have a high explosive yield for their size I would agree." Katie said.
She watched as the engineering instructor looked at her with a look of shock on her face.
"My father is an engineering instructor back on Earth." Katie explained, "This problem is a common problem with the new Mark V power distribution and surge protection power grid. My father had me helping him out before I left for the Academy."
"I guess you need to return to the bridge. If you are interesting in any of this, don't hesitate to ask. I would be happy to show you my job any time." She says smiling.
"I will keep that in mind, thanks." Katie said walking back to the turbo lift.
Once she returned to the bridge she spotted Lt. Johnson still working hard at the operations station. Katie was spotted by Lt. Johnson as she made her way across the bridge.
"Good work, cadet. Those glitches are gone, but now I have my hands full. I could use your assistance. We are receiving reports from all over the ship. What was that?!" She says not sure of what just happened. The captain looks her way, and asks for an update.
"Go ahead, cadet, update the captain." Lt.. Johnson said making it sound more like an order than anything.
"No problem." Katie said heading toward the Captain.
"Sir, I would like to inform you that I spotted a power distribution problem in the main grid, Lt. Commander McCormick and I set out and replaced some faulty biodisks. Everything checks out in the green now."

Cyle soon arrived at a holosuite. He was immediately interested in it. Inside he could create anything he wanted, any planet, any person, any thing.
Cyle stepped inside, and went a console on the wall, he searched through some of the programs, and came to a program he felt would work for him.
"Computer, activate program"
The computer chimed in acknowledgment, and the program instantly came to life. In front of Cyle was an island, and on that island stood a single tree, surround by the ocean. Cyle climbed into the tree, and sat to where he looked towards the setting sun.
" to bad this ain't real, i would very much like to stay here" Cyle said aloud, and he leaned back, resting against the tree trunk

The sun was setting in the grey-lilac sky of the world on which Andromache and her crew had made their base, far away from their home on Themiscrya. The moon was gaining in ascendancy, growing ever stronger in the sky as the sun sank into the horizon, and the sky was transforming from its normal purple daytime hue to the darkness of night.
Not far to the east, their starship rested, a massive witness to the grizzly happenings taking place a quarter of a kilometer distant, casting its approving shadow toward the ritual that was now well underway.
A husky Klingon, Vagh of the House of Rannuf by name, was bound in a supine position to a large stone altar which stood at the top of a mound about one meter higher than the level ground surrounding it. On his right, on the level ground, circling around to both his head and feet, stood Andromache’s warriors in Amazonian battle dress, every eye filled with bloodlust. On his left, standing near his abdomen, was Andromache. He looked into her face from his waist-level position.
Unlike her army, whose cries called out for the shedding of the purple blood, she stood tall and still. Not dressed in her normal battle gear, which was as ornate as those of her forces, she wore a formfitting white undergarment of animal hide that left only her hands and head exposed. The typical Amazonian boots were on her feet, and she wore a red chiton, belted with a black sash, covering the animal skin. Her usual Phrygian helmet was laid aside for the purpose of this ritual, and she wore the diadem of Artemis, a silvery band encircling her head with a luminescent crescent at the center of the forehead. In her hand she carried a long and snaked blade.
Like her sisters who watched, her face was filled with rage.
Vagh looked at the long and twisted blade, then at the tall woman who stood threateningly at his side. Their eyes met briefly before she spoke.
“How does it feel, Klingon male,” she taunted, “to be about to die at the hands of a woman?”
Vagh was afraid. Who wouldn’t be, lying on that altar, seeing the knife and knowing what would follow? Yet it was beneath his dignity to show that fear, and he masked it well. Only the tension of his body gave him away. His ego would not permit him to struggle against his bonds before this woman. He looked up into the sky, then back into his assailant’s eyes.
“Today,” he said, “is a good day to die. And regardless, I will meet my end with honor.”
Whether Klingon, Terran, Romulan, Vulcan, Andorian, or whatever your race, you had to admire Vagh’s resolve and bravery. He was determined not to cry out. It would lead to dishonor for his house.
“Sisters,” cried Andromache, a tall, imposing woman, war queen of the Themiscryan tribe. “We are about to enter into battle. We meet here on this plain, as did our ancient sisters on Terra in the regions of Cappadocia, performing the sacred rites before battle, as did they, to honor and appease our great Artemis, that she may fight with us at our side.”
With this, she raised the knife overhead, blade upward, letting it glisten in the moonlight. Lifting her eyes moonward, she cried for all to hear.
“O great Artemis, who rides the chariot of the moon, exalted when Apollo has fallen, we dedicate this male to you who have honored and saved us so many times in the mists of antiquity to this present age.
“Our thanks and eternal gratitude for saving us from our final end at the hands of the Roman Lucullus when he violated our shores millennia ago.”
Andromache slowly inverted the knife so that the merciless blade was ready to strike at her victim. Soon, for him, it would be a good day!
“And now, Artemis, forgive any faults you find in us your followers. Look upon us in the upcoming battle, and fight by our side!”
Tightening her grip on the hilt, Andromache, with a cry of rage, plunged the blade into the abdomen of the Klingon, who winced, then convulsed, with pain, but refused to cry out. She would not have him die easily, however, and by maneuvering the knife in the flowing wound, she forced from his lips an agonized cry, and Vagh expired.
From the crowd around the victim rose a great anticipatory war cry as they came forward, each hoping to take the purplish blood of Vagh to apply to her face before battle.

It had been a quiet few minutes. After the Bobbo incident, Paikea got a bit more serious. Paikea knew that Commander Ford would not let it rest and he would have to be ever vigilant. Luckily for him both Commander Ford and Penfold had left to go the science lab. Paikea loved science and he couldn't wait to do some experiments in it.
Paikea was still working on running scans over the ship. He had to make sure that all systems would be running and running at peak efficiency. Luckily for Paikea most of the ship was running well, but he did find that the deflector was a bit misaligned. Paikea quickly tapped his comm badge and called deflector control.
"This is Cadet Paikea, I have found a discrepancy in the deflectors. They are off by 2.5 cm." Paikea said. He didn't get a response for a few seconds and then was answered back.
"Thank you Cadet Paikea, we have fixed the problem," a man said. Paikea felt a sense of pleasure knowing that his recommendation was taken seriously and it had happened very quickly.
Paikea's bear Bobbo was walking around the science screen which brought a smile to Paikea's face. It was supposed to be a joke on the lonely science cadet, but Paikea played along and made it his own.
Since at this moment Paikea didn't have anything to do at the moment he decided to look up all the information about the Asiatic Amazon's.
"Computer find all information dealing with Asiatic Amazon's." Paikea had to wait a couple of seconds and then all the files appeared on his screen. This is your fault Paikea told himself you should of listened.
What Paikea was reading really amazed him and he now knew why people liked to study the Amazons. What he first saw was the following....Amazons were said to have lived in Pontus near the shore of the Euxine Sea, where they formed an independent kingdom under the government of queen, Hippolyta.
It took Paikea about an hour to read the relevant information about the Amazons. They were a women warrior race that could and would fight with all their might. There patron Goddess was the Greek Goddess Artemis. Artemis, the virgin moon goddess of the hunt, wild animals, healing, wilderness, chastity, and childbirth. Who only protect women and those that took care of themselves. Paikea know knew why they worshiped Artemis, they were exactly like her.
One thing that surprised Paikea was the fact that these women could still be around. Paikea knew they weren't on Earth, but from somewhere else. The Amazons must of somehow come all the way here and flourish, but that still doesn't explain why they are attacking ships. They must be preparing for something, Paikea thought.
Knock, knock
The knocking sound brought Paikea's attention back to his work. Bobbo was knocking at him to tell him that the scans were done. Paikea closed the link to the Starfleet library, and saw the findings of his most extensive scans yet. Everything checked out fine, but Paikea was still not happy. He decided that he was going to run an extensive diagnostic program on each major and back up system.
"Computer run a Level 4 Diagnostic on Helms, Science, Operations, Tactical, Engineering, Sickbay, Sensors, Life-support, and the main computer," Paikea said.
"Running Diagnostic." the computer's voice came over the comm.
"Computer how long will the diagnostic take?" Paikea asked.
"Diagnostic will take approximately 3 hours and 21 minutes." Paikea gave a face of anguish, he didn't want to wait so long for it to be done, but hence there was nothing he could really do.
Knowing that he would have to wait to do anything else, Paikea once again got out the information about the Amazon's and kept on studying.

Jordan walked down to sickbay and thought about the look on TJ's face that told all he was passionate about the subject of Amazons. And to be truthful, when Jordan had been training on Earth for this job, she also had had a passion in mythology and Amazons were one of the subjects. She knew that their existence wasn't fictional anymore but still it seemed almost too good to be true that there were women who fought with the same skills (and sometimes even better) than men. She thought about her threat to TJ and realized it was an empty threat. She wasn't very forceful no matter how hard she tried to pretend. Draco commented that if TJ was so passionate about the subject, it was quite likely he might do something stupid and get himself hurt or in deep trouble. Jordan agreed and decided to let the physical slide until they were heading back to the base at the end of the mission. She ran some diagnostics on the consoles in sickbay and found no problems. Now that's a first, she thought. In the time she had been there, she couldn't remember a time when something wasn't wrong in sickbay for one reason or another. She then sighed as she thought of what to do and remembered that Joan McCormick hadn't come in for a physical on the ship and neither had any of the cadets. She tapped her combadge.
Jordan: =Mackler to McCormick=
Joan's voice came back over the comm.
Joan: McCormick here.
Jordan: Would ya mind comin' down to sickbay with cadet Anderson for a routine checkup? It'll be quick and painless so ya can get back to your duties.

Roz sighed as TJ told her that he would be handling the relations between them and the Amazons. He smiled warmly though and Roz couldn't help but smile back. She had to admit that it was pretty exciting to be dealing soon with real Amazons. She walked back to her quarters and thought about the ways of an Amazon; worshipping Artemis, killing men that came unbidden to their camps, etc. She shuddered a bit at the image of a man being sacrificed to Artemis and then forced her mind off of the thought. She then thought about Artemis and why that seemed so familiar and then she remembered. In a premission holodeck test, she and others of the Hanson crew had chosen fictional beings to take the powers of. She had chosen Artemis though she made sure to keep her mind on destroying the constantly forming things around them than the men's inability to fight. The reason was, it wasn't really herself thinking those things but the attitude and beliefs of Artemis. Roz thought to herself, Xin-Ling and I are the best fighters on the ship, how ironic. She laughed at her own thought and then her smile faded slightly as she remembered once upon a time, she had considered herself a sort of Amazon. She despised men, fought better than any man she came across, reveled in her own abilities (though she feared them just as much), and she had a temper that made people fear greatly for their own safety at times. She decided that she would go down to the holodeck and test herself. She grabbed a small pouch that she hadn't touched in years and walked down to the holodeck. Once inside, she looked around.
Roz: Computer, create a program that involves all current knowledge of Amazons, past and present.
She waited as the program started to form itself around her and while waiting, she crouched down and unwrapped the pouch. Inside were her old training sais, extra daggers, and various things from her past that she wished she could remove permanently from her mind. One was a piece of paper that was from her days in school. One assignment in English had been to write an adaptation of a paragraph from a book they were reading in class. Roz hadn't had much imagination at the time so she had pulled knowledge from what she knew at the time. She read it and felt the old parts of her reawakening deep within her.
In addition to the two bodies he had already killed - a young woman of 20 and an old man of 75- Marcus Drouet killed whoever got in his way, or whatever seemed appropriate to make the streets "safe" for his little girl. His mode of killing varied from person to person. At various times, in various situations, he and the others in his group killed by cutting off the circulation to the brain and suffocation and poison and breaking the neck and decapitation and slitting the throat and gun shots and drowning and gutting and knifing and drug overdose and internal bleeding and acid and starvation and dehydration and cellular degeneration. Alex Meyer carried brass knuckles; a weapon of last resort, he called it. Sandy Andrews carried edible bombs and a detonator. Delilah Savident carried her mother's throwing knives. Every second or third person in the group carried poisons of many sorts - weighing approximately 1.5 pounds with the antidotes. They all carried thick pieces of twine - .5 ounces each. They all carried aluminum swords - 3 pounds. Some carried concealable and silenced guns. Some carried vials of acids of all sorts. They carried all they could hide on themselves, and then some, including a silent awe for the destructive power they themselves had with these weapons.
She put the paper down and then folded it back up in the pouch. She saw some of the weapons mentioned in her writing: acid, twine, antidote, a folding aluminum sword, and even acupuncture pins. She didn't think she would need any of those things so she pulled out a pair of sais and closed the pouch up. The computer beeped. It was done.
Roz: Begin program.
The bland holodeck changed into a rich forest with life everywhere. Roz looked at herself and found herself wearing her Amazon outfit. She scowled as this wasn't what Amazons wore but she didn't care much. She wouldn't be dressed this way when she saw the Amazons. She sheathed her weapons and silently walked out into the forest.

Cyle was soon bored, he needed something to do, or someone to sit in a tree with. But seeing as neither was where he was, he decided to go the other holo decks, to see if anyone else wanted to escape the world.
He arrived at a holodeck, were an amazonian program had just started. He walked into the program, and looked into a lush forest. "Computer, give me appropriat clothes"
His clothing changed almost immediatly, and he wore animal skin pants, and a leather vest. "Computer, any accetable weapons?"
The computer chimed in " weapons of hand to hand combat, including swords, axes, bows."
"ok, thats enough. Give me a broad sword, steel" "aknowledged"
a sword appeared on the ground before him, and he held it in his hands, easily enough for him, the life on the streets taught him enough to know how to handle himself, with any weapons he grabbed.

When Xin-Ling heard of the outer similarity with the warrior race of women whom TJ had told her had brought such terror to the ancient world, her curiosity was piqued. As a martial artist, these fighters from antiquity interested her, and she was curious if they actually did have any relationship with the tribes of the Asiatic Amazons, or if they had simply somehow found out about them and copied their culture – as nearly as it was currently known – as did the Iotians a couple hundred years ago during the visit to that world by the USS Enterprise.
This being so, she determined she would be on the front lines when the enemy was engaged. Perhaps they could capture them, and then she would request to be in on any interrogation. As Assistant Security Cheif, that should be easy enough to arrange.
She smiled slightly in anticipation, and went about her duties, also wondering if she should start the Kung Fu class for officers and cadets that Dr. Johnson had encouraged her to teach.
She sighed quietly at the thought. She never considered herself as an instructor, despite the skills she had obtained, having reached level of master. It would be wonderful – and far more convenient – if Akleth was here to teach his Combat Training Course instead. She knew he was an excellent instructor.

The sacrificial knife, though it brought an end to Vagh’s life, did not create sufficient flow of blood for each Amazon warrior to apply to her face. Had it drained the body completely, it still would not have been enough, for the crew complement of Andromache’s starcraft numbered 500 soldiers under four officers, and a brief, but minor, twinge of jealousy rose in many an Amazonian heart under the now-darkened purplish sky.
When the blood had stopped flowing from Vagh’s death-wound, several Amazon warriors drew their own knives and lacerated the corpse of Vagh of the House of Rannuf, applying the purplish life-liquid that flowed from the new wounds. Others, when they saw they would not be receiving the Klingon’s blood to wear into battle, beat the corpse mercilessly out of frustration. It was a great honor to wear the blood of the enemy into battle, and it was commonly believed that those who did so were especially blessed by Artemis and the Amazon to deliver the first deathblow would be found among their number.
“Great is Artemis of the Themiscryans!” shouted Andromache, her eyes toward the moon, the chariot of Artemis. Lowering her eyes to her troops, she cried, “To your tents, sisters – and tonight, we battle!”
A frightening cheer, combined with war-cries, filled the atmosphere. Frenzied cries of “Death to the Klingon males – and to the traitorous women who support them!” rent the air, and Andromache’s troops left the site to their tents to prepare for battle.
As the fierce warriors left the site of the sacrificial altar, Andromache, still filled with animus, spat on the corpse of her victim.
“Tonight, Klingon, many of your people will wail as we make your children fatherless and your wives into widows!”
Moments later, in an Amazon tent >>>
Antiope and Myrina, as were the rest of Andromache’s warrior maidens, were already wearing their battle dress at the sacrifice of Vagh, and had only to take their major weapons and prepare their defensive armor. Both women pressed a small switch on the buckle of their belts and were encased in a soft azure glow. They took their shields, crescent-shaped and half their heights, from their stands. The circular dome in the center of each shield pulsated at the ruby-red lens that gave the shield’s dome its crescent look.
Antiope already wore her arrows, and her bow was soon in hand. Myrina, who preferred the battle-ax, took it lovingly in her grasp. Fingering her blade, she spoke tenderly to her weapon, “Many a blood will be spilt by you tonight, dear one.” Antiope nodded, and smiled in agreement.
Stepping from their tent, they joined others under the shadow of their starcraft, and awaited the arrival of their commanding officer, the War Queen of Themiscrya. They did not have to wait long.
“Sisters, gather together and prepare for battle.”
The anxious Amazons came within close range of each other, awaiting their leader’s command.
“Merge yourselves!” she commanded, and 504 warriors’ hands went to their belts, pressed a button, and each individual blue glow merged into that of her neighbor, giving them the capability of forming close ranks, yet maintaining the ability to separate, should the need arise.
“For the honor of Artemis!” screamed Andromache in a voice, shrill for the first time tonight.
“Honor we will place tonight at Artemis’ feet!” responded the troops, who then went as a body into the starcraft.
On the Bridge of the Amazonian Starcraft >>>
Every warrior was at her station, passionately awaiting liftoff, and anxious to begin the clash of arms that would bring victory tonight, honor to Artemis, greater power to Andromache, and greater terror for her enemies.
Andromache took her command chair and commanded her astrogator, “Give us liftoff, Melanippe, and drive us to victory.” An anticipatory smile graced her lips.
“Yes, my queen,” answered Melanippe, and Warbird, the Themiscryan starcraft, rose slowly from the ground, then sped forward, leaving the pull of the planet upon which they had made their base.
Tonight, many Klingons would die.

Katie has always hated going to the doctors. It was fear she has had since she was very young and it was obvious she still feared a trip to the doctor as an adult.
Katie stepped into sickbay she noticed there was not a lot of people there. Looking around she could not seem to locate the doctor. She secretly didn't want to find the doctor, she really wanted to turn around and leave but she was already there and it would probably be painless.
She sat down on the first open bed she saw. Katie nervously rubbed her hands together to get them warm. Do they always have to keep it so cold in here, Katie thought to herself. Katie noticed she was swinging her legs back and forth, figiting had always been Katie's way of handling nerve racking situations.
"I guess I will wait." Katie said softly.
