TJ, carefully but swiftly, weighed his options. He did not like the lack of power in the systems with neither weapons systems nor FTL speed, but he had not received word, other than the "it will be ready when it's ready" comment from Commander Harash-Kyat. Not a lot to go on.
But even with those disabilities – or, perhaps, especially because of them – they could not simply wait in the path of the oncoming object. To do so would likely mean suicide, whether the object on the screen was a vessel or simply a chunk of space-rock with a thyroid problem. They would have to proceed with what little they had available at the moment, and kick in warp power and weapons later.
"Mr. Davis, keep tryin' t' hail this thing, in case it is a vessel. If it is, I want t' be makin' every attempt t' avoid hostilities."
"Aye, sir. Will do." And Cadet Davis went back to his attempt to contact the hypothetical occupants of the ever-growing thing that nearly filled their viewscreen again.
"Mr. Franz, keep me informed about th' vessel. I'm wantin' t' know particularly if they're likely powerin' up for a discharge o' weapons. Also, keep me informed o' th' object's distance from us."
"Aye, sir," the cadet said, and then brought the magnification to lowest magnification. Even with the lowest end of the magnification scale, the thing was clearly visible on the screen, and speeding toward the Hepta.
"Current distance, 17 parsecs, and still closing rapidly. Estimated time of collision at current speed, fifteen minutes."
"Good. Keep me informed, Mr. Franz."
"Aye, sir."
"Mr. Zoarial, are ye now prepared t' move us into your course?"
"I am, Mr. Edwards."
"Steady, then, but get ready."
"Fifteen point five parsecs. ETA in twelve minutes," came Cadet Franz' report.
"Not yet, Mr. Zoarial. Hold her steady ... "
Muscles tensed around the Bridge, as they all waited for Commander Edwards to give the word.
"Twelve parsecs, ETA, seven minutes."
TJ fastened his eyes on the viewscreen. Since there was no response as yet at the Communications console from the vessel on the screen, TJ was left with no choice but to assume it was either a good-sized chunk of rock or a hostile vehicle. He wanted to know the object's response to their change in course. That would tell them whether or not it was a vessel or a chunk of space-rock.
"Ms. McCallister, keep your hands near th' firin' panel for immediate action at me mark," TJ instructed. "Mr. Zoarial, prepare t' change course ..."
"Nine parsecs, ETA four point two-five minutes," Hans said from the Operations console.
"Mr. Zoarial, cover your console an' be ready ... not yet."
TJ could see the Bridge personnel sweat as he carefully measured the time element. It had to be cut precisely right!
"Four point three parsecs, ETA one minute."
"NOW, Mr. Zoarial! Move us out!" TJ yelled.

Harash-kyat dashed around the engine room bellowing at teh top of his voice. "Vent That. Remodulate that carrier. Jones...JONES equilibirate the output ratio." He ran to the master console. "Okay then" he whispered under his breath "Lets see if this will work." Slowly he began to remodulate the warp field, it came up into line with the subspace wake and suddenly teh warp core sprang back to life. "got it." He grinned and then tapped his badge. "Bridge, This is engineering, You have Warp. Don't push it past warp 2 though, not unless you want to shut us down again. Torpedoes are available and Phasers will be fully charged within 10 minutes, but again don't push em." "Understood. Harash" "If anyone needs me I ll be in sickbay."
"Okay then" Harash-kyat said, "Farlo, Tiscalion get your kits your with me in sickbay. Jones - the engine room is yours. Don't break anything."

Jason: Give me 5 ccs of kayolene.
Nurse: For what purpose? She's already unconscious.
Jason: Just making sure she stays that way.
He injected her with the kayolene.
Jason: We have to get these metal fragments out of her leg. Exoscalpel.
The Sickbay doors hissed open and an Engineering team walked in. Jason turned slightly.
Jason: Glad you're here. We had an overload in the Medical systems. They're offline. The overload turned a couple workstations into those twisted hunks of metal you see in the corner over there. And I have a patient, so excuse me.
Jason turned back and took the exoscalpel from the nurse's outstretched hand. He cut the skin along the metal fragments, and carefully removed them.
Jason: Commander, I have metal fragments removed from Dr Macklers leg if they'll be useful to you.
The wounds were now clear. Next to deal with the broken leg.
Jason: I'll have to set this before we can repair the bone.
He reached down and forceably moved the leg into place. A nurse winced at the slight popping sound.
Jason: There. Everything back is taken care of. Barei, run the dermal regenerator over her leg. Remember to repair the bone as well as the skin.
Barei: Yes, sir.
Jason could only imagine the soreness and/or pain Jordan would feel when she woke.

Zoarial was tenced, as commander Edwards slowly increased the stress, he felt his hands were shaking. 'No time for nerves now Zoarial" he said to himself, "grab yourself together!"
<<7 minutes to go, I hope all the calculations were correct, I guess they are, I wasn't THAT bad at maths. No time to check up, they will work, they will have to>>
Zoarial was able to ease up. He felt the strenght flowing back into his hands, and he waited.
<<4.25 minutes, this is going to be it, I'll make or break the day, it HAS to go right, it will go right>>
Zoarial was certain that the object was going to ram the ship if it stood on course, he knew the necessity of the manouevre.
<<one minute, ok just enough time to...>>
But he couldn't finish that thought:
In the mean time, the statusreport from Harash-kyat arrived through the commbadge.
Harash-kyat: =/\= Bridge, This is engineering, You have Warp. Don't push it past warp 2 though, not unless you want to shut us down again. Torpedoes are available and Phasers will be fully charged within 10 minutes, but again don't push em. =/\=
Zoarial: =/\=Understood, I'll get us out of here in ...=/\=
But again he was interrupted.
"NOW, Mr. Zoarial! Move us out!" Commander Edwards yelled.
"AYE SIR!" Zoarial responded, and as if automaticly, Zoarial's hands moved around the console, tapping every necesary button for the course-change.
Zoarial felt the ship swinging to the right, and due to the sudden manouevre, everybody who wasn't holding on to something on the brigde was thrown to the side.
"Increasing speed now!" Zoarial informed, and he continued:
"Moving to FTL in 5 seconds... 4... 3... 2... 1..."
And he put the ship in warp speed, ½... ¾... 1... 1½...
<<This will be sufficient>> Zoarial thought.
"Commander Edwards, coursechange succesfull, now lets see if they will follow us!"

Torpedoes are available and Phasers will be fully charged within 10 minutes, but again don't push em. =/\= TJ was elated! At last! he thought, 'Tis somethin' I can work with!
"Mr. Harash-Kyat," he said aloud, "you've just proven again why you're in command o' Engineerin'!" "Increasing speed now!" Zoarial informed, and he continued: "Moving to FTL in 5 seconds... 4... 3... 2... 1..." And he put the ship in warp speed, ½... ¾... 1... 1½... <<This will be sufficient>> Zoarial thought. "Commander Edwards, course change succesful, now let's see if they will follow us!" "Excellent, Mr. Zoarial," TJ commented with an approving nod. He liked that. The Cadet was anticipating commands, knowing that he had wanted warp speed as soon as possible.
"Indeed. Let's be seein' if they'll play cat t' our mouse!" he said as he sat back in his chair, interlaced his fingers and kept his eyes on the screen.
"Mr. Franz, continue keepin' us informed. Concentrate on power build-up in weaponry that may come from that thing. An' let us know th' instant it changes course – if it does!"
"Ms. McCallister, adjust counter-attack plan t' be initiatin' photon torpedoes, then prepare t' include phaser blasts when charged, but see that ye do nothin' without me word!" OOC: Mr. Zoarial, just for future referrence, I believe the ships are equipped with inertial dampeners that will avoid the throwing of the crew except as a result of outside forces.
Great post, though!
All right, all ... Does the thing in the screen follow us – meaning it's a ship – or just pass on by, making it likely just a chunk of rock. Let us know what you see on the viewscreen in front of us! ;D
Barb and Athar, have you arrived at Sickbay yet?

Jordan's leg was healed now, for the most part. Another check with the peripheral. There seemed to be nothing wrong.
Jason: Well, theres not anything physically wrong with her now, but shes sure going to be plenty sore when she wakes up. She's stabilized, so we'll just leave her unconscious for now.
Jason thought he ought to check the situation with the UMO (Unidentified moving obejct). As he was Dr Mackler's protegé, he felt it was his job to take over for her will she was out. He went into her office, and checked sensor data.
They were at warp. The UMO was still coming at them, and weapons were online. At least they could better defend themselves now. Dr Johnson and a Cadet walked into Sickbay.
Jason: Dr. Johnson, what can I do for you. I assume it has something to do with crew observations, based on the fact that you have a Cadet with you.

The door of the Bridge opened with a whoosh! and Xin-Ling entered. She did not step far into the circular area, but just in and to the side, noting that TJ briefly looked back to her at the sound of the door opening.
The cadet handling the Weapons console at the Tactical Station also briefly looked back, and seeing her superior officer, silently mouthed a query if she should get up and relinquish her station to the CTSO, but Xin-Ling shook her head, and with her hand, indicated Cadet McCallister should stay at the console.

-- Astrometrics Lab --
Captain ONE closed the commlink with Starbase 47, the current matter having been delt with.
He then checked on the Hepta's status. He monitored the cleanup in Sickbay, repairs in Engineering, and the ship's new course set at the Helm. He saw that everything was being handled as well as possible given the circumstances, so he didn't see the need to butt in.
ONE switched on the sensors to take some more detailed readings of this unidentified object, hurling toward them. It was unusual for the computer to not find a match in the database. However, this, this, thing seemed to elude them. ONE was able to isolate the Federation signature and zoom in. He thought he could vaguely make out a saucer and two nacelles. Was the missing ship actually embedded in this object? he thought to himself. As he scanned the surface of this object meter by meter, he was able to pick out at least a dozen other ships or parts of ships - Vulcan, Klingon, Romulan, Andorian, you name it.
ONE relayed this data to the Science and Ops stations on the Bridge, then tapped his combadge. "ONE to the Bridge. I relayed some sensor data that I have analyzed here in Astrometrics. Be prepared for the object to follow us."

-- Sickbay --
Crewman O'Reilly sat on one of the broken biobeds. He wasn't moving. In fact, he hadn't moved since the explosion, except to peel himself off the ground and sit his scared little behind on that bed. He stared at the deceased nurse, who in the commotion had been overlooked. She was supposed to be put in a body bag and stored in a cooler.
That was his job. He was a medical assistant, or corpsman as it used to be called. But he couldn't. This was his first tour of duty, and this was the first real death he had to deal with. And he couldn't. Couldn't deal with it, that is. So he just sat there wide-eyed until the head nurse noticed him.
Nurse Kendall walked over to him. "On your feet O'Reilly," she said calmly, but sternly.
"Yes'm" he mumbled.
"O'Reilly!"
He looked up slowly at her, then to the unconcious Jordan, then back to the deceased nurse.
Kendall tapped her combadge "Nurse Kendall to Dr. Johnson."
"Go ahead, sugar."
"If you're not already on your way here to Sickbay, would you? Crewman O'Reilly's pretty shook up."
"I'll send Cadet Athar. She'll fix 'im up in no time."

Jordan slowly woke up and felt a throbbing pain in her leg. She couldn't remember what had happened and then it all came back in a rush. Her running and then the explosion and her leg being broken before blacking out. Well, at least I'm alive. She looked down at her leg and saw it was straight. Draco flew down to her and cooed quietly. He had been worried about her and she smiled and stroked his head. She then sat up and hung her legs over the side of the biobed. Suddenly, the ship lurched to one side in a turn and Jordan fell forward and managed to duck before hitting the next biobed. The ship then stabilized itself and she knew that TJ had been behind the turn. She muttered under her breath.
Jordan: Thanks for the warning TJ.
She then stood up awkwardly and swore loudly. She then saw Barbara and her cadet come into sickbay and she smiled as best she could. She knew that she shouldn't be standing on her leg as it was only a short time ago that it was broken. She then saw out of the corner of her eye the dead nurse and a young man standing by her. Jordan looked at the nurse and cringed. The burns on the woman's face looked like those of Thread, only worse. She then turned back to Barb.
Jordan: I think the young man over there needs you more than anyone else in here.

The ship lurched with the turn. Apparently they were going just a little too fast for the Inertial Dampers. Jason steadied himself on the desk, then went to check the rest of Sickbay. He saw Dr Mackler conscious and standing! He quickly went over to her.
Jason: Doctor, what do you think you're doing?
Jordan: I was just speaking to Barb.
Jason: I was refering to the fact that you're standing.
Jordan: Oh. Well, I woke up, so I tested my leg. It hurts a little but-
Jason: Sit.
She did so promptly, slightly startled by his forcefulness. He ran the tricorder peripheral over her, concentrating on her leg.
Jason: I didn't know you were even awake, much less standing. ::sigh:: Doctors certainly do make the worst patients.
He checked the readings. Her leg was pretty much healed, but she was obviously in pain.
Jason: Do you feel any pain?
Jordan: A little. I winced when I stood.
Jason: Well if Draco's attentiveness is any indication, I'd say you're not tell the whole story.
The fire lizard was keeping very close to Jordan now. Jason filled a hypo with Acinolyathin. He pressed it to her neck.
Jason: This should help.
Jordan: Thank you.
Jason: Now I suggest you rest that leg for a while. I promise I'll relent if theres a problem.
Jordan smiled slightly at this.

With the new information from Captain ONE received by the Bridge crew, TJ began reflecting on new possible scenarios. He wanted to avoid being taken by surprise, if at all possible.
So, there were several vessels embedded in that thing on the viewscreen, were there? That meant the thing was dangerous!
Faith, an’ th’ Hepta’s not goin’ t’ become one o’ them! TJ vowed silently.
"Mr. Franz, perform a detailed scan. Pay particular attention t’ what th’ Captain thinks t’ be a Federation vessel. ‘Tis wantin’ t’ know about every scratch on th’ Federation craft I am," he instructed. "An’ while you’re at it, be scannin’ for any bioforms on th’ surface."
"Aye, sir," said the cadet.
Out of the corner of his eye, TJ saw Xin-Ling step down from the area where she had been standing and take a position with her cadet at the console, standing just behind her.
"Ms. McCallister, be prepared t’ be givin’ a good showin’ there at th’ weapons console, but press nothin’ until ye have me word."
"Aye, sir."
As the Bridge crew continued to watch the viewscreen, the object suddenly altered its course, again heading directly toward the Hepta.
"Shields up an’ go t’ Red Alert!" ordered the Irishman.
"Mr. Zoarial, keep us ahead o’ that thing … but give a care that ye not be losin’ it. I want it t’ remain in firin’ range."
<Zoarial>
"Mr. Edwards, scan confirms the saucer and nacelles are parts of a Federation vessel, Nebula class."
TJ frowned. He didn’t like it, not one little bit. The vessel with which they were supposed to rendezvous was a Nebula class ship.
"Lifeforms, Mr. Franz?"
<Hans Franz>
Before Cadet Franz was able to respond, a voice came from the Communications station.
"Commander, receiving a transmission from the surface of that … thing."
"Put it on speaker, Mr. Davis."
— /\ — Mayday! Mayday! This is Bill Hamilton, captain of the USS Jungle King. — /\ —
Jungle King! thought a startled TJ. Begorrah! ‘Tis th’ ship we’re supposed t’ be meetin’!

After the loads of information entering the bridge, Commander Edwards processed every single word and gave all neccesary orders:
"Mr. Zoarial, keep us ahead o’ that thing … but give a care that ye not be losin’ it. I want it t’ remain in firin’ range."
For Zoarial, it felt like a failure, the planned move wasn't what it had to be, and now the distance between the ships was also increasing.
"Mr Franz, what is the current speed of the object? I want to know the exact speed and if there's any change in it could you please report it to me immideatly?"
<<Hans Franz>>
After some quick maths, Zoarial found out he had to slow down ¾ warp factor in 1,7 minutes to get to the speed the object was flying. He let his hands glide over the console and after 1,7 minutes exactly he slowly decreased the Hepta's speed.
"Sir Edwards, we are now flying wihtin firing range of this object, but doesn't that also mean we're in his firing range? Or doesn't it have weaponry on places suited for firing at us?
Furthermore I don't think it is neccesary to travel within firing range since the USS Jungle King is attached to it, we might risk injuring it's crew.
I suggest this manouevre:
If we make a quick nose dive and then slow down rapidly, the object will fly over us and we'll be able to follow it from behind, that way we can shoot at it without the risk of endangering the USS Jungle King"
<<TJ>>
But Zoarial remembered a bit of psysics. The phasers and photon torpedoes would not travel FTL and the ship would, so they would only catch up with the projectiles they just fired.
"Eehm Commander Edwards? Never mind my last suggestion. It would only be helpfull if the object would by any means want to slow down."
<<TJ>>

Our goal, as far as ship's weaponry is concerned, is t' let th' thing think it has us on th' run, yet is well able t' outrun us, if it chooses t' do so."
Flicking a switch on the chair, TJ spoke into it.
"TJ t' Transporter Chief. Do we have full power on the transporters?"
— /\ — Aye, sir. — /\ —
"Ah, 'tis grand news indeed. Stand by t' receive coordinants.
"Mr. Davis, open that channel t' th' Jungle King."
"Aye, sir."
"Captain Hamilton, would ye be able t' provide us with coordinants for your crew?"
— /\ — Aye. We're sending them your way. — /\ —
"Ms. Fields, Edwards here again. I'm relayin' a set o' coordinants t' ye. Lock on t' those figures an' let me know when all are aboard."
— /\ — Aye, sir. Consider it done. — /\ —
"I'm considerin', Ms. Fields. Edwards out.
"Edwards t' Sickbay an' Counselin' ... 'Tis takin' on a shaken group o' Starfleet personnel from th' Jungle King we're doin', an' I would be guessin' their goin' t' be havin' problems, both physical and emotional at this point. Please be prepared." <Jordan, Jason / Barbara / Athar>"Mr. Zoarial, can ye be bringin' us a wee bit closer t' th' monster on th' screen, an' makin' it look as if we're slowin' due t' engine trouble? Try t' bring us both up t' just slightly over warp factor one by varyin' our speed until ye reach that point. In fact, t' make it a bit more convincin' —"
"But, Mr. Edwards, is it really a good idea to bring us closer? Why get close once we have the survivors aboard?"
"Mr. Zoarial, I intend t' bring that thing right on our tail."
TJ flicked another switch on his chair, and spoke to the Engineering section.
"Mr. Harash-Kyat, 'tis wonderin' I am if ye might reduce output o' power t' warp drive at th' source. I'm needin' available no more than slightly above warp one. Can that be accomplished quickly?"<Harash-Kyat>And TJ sat in the chair, waiting and watching. VERY closely.

Jordan sat down on the biobed again and watched as Jason worked hard to prep things for any incoming injured. She had heard from Draco that the ship they were supposed to "rescue" at the beginning of the mission was embedded in the thing that was now coming after them. She was thinking about what they could do when an idea hit her.
Jordan: Jason, come here. I think I have an idea to get the people off that thing.
Jason came over and listened to her as she told him her idea.
Jason: I don't know Commander. It could be risky and you're not in the best shape to begin with. We don't want to make that leg of yours any worse.
Jordan: From what I can see, there's nothin' ya really can't fix. You're an excellent cadet and ya think fast on your feet.
She tapped her combadge.
Jordan: =Mackler to Edwards=
TJ's response came quickly and he sounded strained like he was willing to talk but was also concentrating very hard on the situation in front of him.
TJ: Yes?
Jordan: Do you have any officers that ya can spare for a little trip?
TJ became very confused.
TJ: What are you talking about?
Jordan: No time to explain, just get all the people ya can spare to transporter room 2 pronto. Mackler out.
TJ: Jordan?
Beggorrah! What is she planning?[/i] he thought and then went back to concentrating on the situation in front of him, though there was the answer to his question nagging at the back of his mind.
Jordan looked at Jason. He still looked very apprehensive about her plan. She put her hand on his shoulder.
Jordan: I don't want to have to order ya to come with me. So, are ya comin'?
Jason looked at the ground then smiled. He brought his eyes back up to hers.
Jason: Yes ma'am.
Jordan grinned and with Jason's help, she stood up and they grabbed the mobile medical units and headed towards transporter room 2.

TJ was curious what Jordan had planned, but there was no time to reflect on what it might be. Quickly, he ran a mental checklist of any officer he might be able to spare. There weren't that many on the Bridge at the moment, and he doubted he could send more than two or three.
He could spare Jim Davis at Communications. Science station was presently unattended. Navigation and Tactical were essential at the moment. Those on the console could not go. So far, Mr. Zoarial was proving himself well. Perhaps, if she preferred, Trenia might be good to send. But if difficulty unforeseen presented itself, she may be needed on the Bridge to back up the cadet.
What to do?
"Mr. Davis, Ms. Chan, front an' center."
Communications Officer Davis and CTSO Chan stood before TJ at attention.
"Ms. Torban, if I might be havin' your attention as well?
"Mr. Davis ... Ms. Chan, get on your way t' Transporter Room Two. There you'll be meetin' with Dr. Mackler. Be prepared for some kind of a "trip"."
As the two left the Bridge, TJ heard Xin-Ling suggest to Mr. Davis it might be a good idea to arm themselves. She suggested phasers, though she herself was already armed with her weapons of choice.
"Ms. Torban," continued TJ, "I'm leavin' it up t' you; if you're desirin' t' assist Dr. Mackler, ye may do so now, or ye may stay on th' Bridge with your cadets. Your call."

Jordan limped down to transporter room 2 with Jason's help, each of them carrying a mobile medical unit. They met Xin-Ling and Davis in the room, each of them armed with a phaser and Jordan knew Xin-Ling's little darts were hidden somewhere. She stood up and faced them all.
Jordan: Here's the plan: We are going to transport to the starfleet ship embedded in the thin' that's following us. We are going to brin' back as many people as we can. If we are inable to transport them back, we will take care of them in the ship. Any questions?
Davis: Does Commander Edwards know about this?
Jordan: No and we'll be keeping it that way until he reads that we've transported across to it. Ready?
They all nodded and stepped onto the transporter pads.
Xin-Ling: Let's go.
They transported across and pulled out their weapons. They scanned the area around them.
=ON THE BRIDGE= "Sir? I'm detecting someone or something being transported to the thing that's following us."
TJ: WHAT?!

They had beamed into a corridor. Jason scanned the surronding area to figure out where they were.
Jason: Oh, how convenient! Sickbay is just down the hall.
He headed off in that direction, and footsteps told him that the others were behind him. He entered Sickbay.
Sickbay was in a harried state. Medical personnel were working hurriedly tending to their patients. One of the Medical Staff came over.
Medical Officer: Who are you?
Jordan: Dr Jordan Mackler, Chief Medical Officer of the USS Hepta. This is Jason Black, Medical Cadet.
Medical Officer: Dr Jack Rivers. You got any training, Cadet?
Jason: Yes, sir. I have a Medical Degree from Harvard Medical School.
Rivers: Good to hear it. We need all the help we can get. We're stuck in this thing, whatever it is, and it seems to have a mind of its own.
He gestured at the corner of the room. What looked to be rock was in the cornering, and was expanding, turning everything it contacted into material similar to itself.
Rivers: The "Rock Monster," as some call it, is slowly transforming the ship. Until we haven't had any ships close enough to help us.

=ON THE BRIDGE= "Sir? I'm detecting someone or something being transported to the thing that's following us." TJ: WHAT?! TJ was flabbergasted! He could not believe he had not seen it! When Dr. Mackler had mentioned a "trip", he should have put a stop to it then and there. They didn't need more Starfleet personnel in harm's way than were already there.
Tapping his comm badge angrily, he barked, "TJ t' Jordan Mackler. Come in!"
— /\ — Hello, Pharoah! — /\ — There was a grin in Jordan's voice.
"Never ye be mindin' that, Doctor. I don't recall givin' ye permission t' go out an' play with th' crew o' th' Jungle King."
— /\ — I've always been one to enjoy playing outdoors, Mr. Edwards. Anyway, I thought we could coordinate the evacuation of the Jungle King's crew better from over here. — /\ —
TJ settled down a bit. As long as they were over on the Jungle King already, it made sense, working together from both ends.
"Fine, then. Th' lot o' ye coordinate th' evacuation from that end. Transport crew will be workin' with ye from this end. An' doctor ..."
— /\ — You called, TJ? — /\ —
"When you've finished, I might be suggestin' a wee bit of a talk with Captain ONE about this tendency ye have of late t' take such matters as this into your own hands without lettin' us know. It could get messy if ye keep it up. TJ out."

Xin-Ling, intrigued, watched the petrification of the bulkhead. She realized, however, that, especially because of this strange metamorphosis, speed in evacuation the personnel of the Jungle King was of the essence.
"Dr. Rivers, you tell us how many aboard this ship alive? How many able to move under their own power?"

OFF: Guys, what class ship is the Jungle King? Just want to know so I can get a feel of how many people are on board.
Jordan cringed when she remembered the last time she had had a talk with the Captain. It had not gone well, they didn't see eye to eye. She had a ready retort on her lips but decided that she didn't want to start a fight with TJ. However, her gut began to burn with anger. She spoke very strained as she replied.
Jordan: Acknowledged. Mackler-out.
She then took her combadge and put it in her pocket. Draco's eyes were swirling red and orange in fury too and everyone that saw him stayed out of range of him.
Rivers: A large group is trapped on deck 5. The bulkhead door is sealed and the controls won't work. No one can get access to the computer systems. We can't find anyone else, not even the captain for the moment.
Xin-Linge: Davis and I go try at bulkhead door.
Jordan: (calming down) Jason and I will stay here and assist the people who are injured in here. If you need any help, I'll send Draco with you. Just send him back with a note.
Xin-Ling nodded and she and Davis went down the halls to the bulkhead door on deck 5. Jordan and Jason went to work on the injured. There were all sorts of injuries: burns, cuts, broken bones. Jordan pulled back her short hair and rolled up her sleeves. She started on a lieutenant with burns on his hands and face.

=/\= Grant to Sickbay. We need someone in the forward section of Deck 5 right away! =/\=
Jason looked around. Rivers was resuscitating an unconscious patient. Jordan was treating a burn victim.
Rivers: =/\= Someones on their way =/\= Cadet, you go.
Jason: Yes, sir.
Jason grabbed a med-kit and headed for the forward section. He rounded a corner in the corridor, and saw the problem. A crewman had touched the wall. His arm was petrified. An Ensign called to Jason.
Ensign: Help him!
Jason rushed over. Unfortunately, most of his upper arm was already petrified. It was currently consuming his shoulder.
Jason: Theres nothing I can do.
Crewman: Don't leave me here like this!
Jason: I could sedate you. You'd be petrified and dead before you woke up.
Crewman: Please, anything!
Jason filled a hypo with kayolene and injected him. The crewman went limp.
Jason: Now I suggest we leave this section before we have any other problems like this.
The two Ensigns left the area. Jason headed back to sickbay and went to Jordan.
Jason: I suggest we get everyone out of here as fast as possible.

Jordan had finished healing the man with the burns as best she could with the dimishing medical abilities since the rock was still increasing and becoming one with the ship. She beamed him across with a few of his comrades. She then started working on a woman with a broken arm when Jason came in and approached her.
Jason: I suggest we get everyone out of here as soon as possible.
Jordan didn't look up from her work.
Jordan: Why?
Jason put his hand on Jordan's arm and she looked up. He gestured over to the side with his head. She saw the terror in his eyes and nodded. She finished with the woman's arm and beamed her across. She followed Jason over to the side of the room, away from the encroaching doom rock and from the people.
Jason: I was called down to an emergency on one of the decks and I found a crewman had touched the rock. His arm was petrified and slowly becoming one with the rock. I put him into unconsciousness and had to leave him. There was nothing I could do to help him.
Jordan ran her fingers through her hair and pulled her combadge out of her pocket.
Jordan:=Jordan to Xin-Ling
Xin-Ling: Yes?
Jordan: Be very careful. Don't touch any of the rock that's coming through the ship for any circumstances.
Xin-Ling: Dare I ask why?
Jordan: Let's just say that it's very dangerous when it comes in contact with you.

The Asian Warrior said nothing at Dr. Mackler's word that the rock was dangerous, but she had come to trust her judgment in most matters. Plus, the urgency in her voice spoke volumes.
"Very well, Dr. Mackler. We no touch."
Xin-Ling returned her attention to the jammed door where the crew members were trapped. Davis had already attempted to force the door with phaser fire, but, though it probably helped somewhat, it was growing obvious that it would be far too slow in succeeding. Nor was it guaranteed that it would even succeed.
"Here, Mr. Davis. Let me try now. We have little time left."
She placed her back against the opposing corridor wall, took a deep breath, and once again, the battle cry that had struck terror into the hearts of the Breen, and chilled the listeners at the battle with Diana the Terrible, sounded again. As it did, Xin-Ling took off at a run toward the door, and from a side kick from the Asian that moved with such rapidity as to nearly be invisible, the door finally exploded inward.
The two entered the chamber where the multitude of crewmen had been trapped, and ascertained there were, amazingly enough, no injuries that rendered anyone there nonambulatory.
"We know captain of Jungle King was alive at time of distress call. I search for him, you get these to Hepta now. And keep hands off rock!"
James Davis notified the Main Transporter Room of the Hepta, and within moments, the trapped crewmen were transferred aboard the larger craft. He then followed Xin-Ling, who with a tricorder she had taken from the Hepta just prior to leaving, was attempting to zero in on the captain of the Jungle King.
