Joan came for Cadet Biers when it was time to go to the briefing. "Don't worry about Leo, he will be along later, and has been excused by the captain at this time. I am Commander Joan McCormick, the CMO for this mission. Counselling and Medical work together a lot, so I would think that Leo doesn't mind sharing his cadet for now," Joan said, and took the cadet to the briefing.
She had already read up on the orders, having clearance to do so, and knew what was going on better than most. She listened and wondered how long before the briefing was over. She couldn't believe she was actually bored, but she couldn't help it.
Once the captain dismissed them all, Joan stood waiting for Cadet Biers. "Cadet, I thought we would get a look of the bridge, and any other areas you might want to view of the ship. After that it is time for physicals in the Medical department, and it would be a good idea if you ran Evaluations," Joan suggested waiting to see if he really wanted a tour, or if he wanted to roll up his sleeves and get to work.

As I sit dow at the console for the first a sense of nostalgia and the history of the station flods my senses. Having read the impressive history of the Hepta I reflect back over all the great people that have served onboard this class vessle people such as CScO T'Lyra, CScO Xrednah and many others. .............................. later.......................................... "Cadet Salvack we need to get to the briefing room it's getting close to time for the brief it's ...best not to be late" said CDR ford dredging cadet Salvack out of his thought. "Your right sir please lead the way." replied cadet Salvack even though he had studied the schematics a dozen times or so its a much diffrent thing to actually be walking the coridors and the young cadet didn't want to get lost

This was it Bezan thought, no more theory. This was the real thing. He immediately went to a control consul and began typing commands into the computer, the computer followed the commands and displayed the results for him. He established that it was a build up of antimatter, and knew what needed to be done anything that was built up too much, needed to be released somehow. "Ma'am we've got a build up of antimatter in the warp core, it needs to be vented out some how" Bezan said above the sound of the alarms. "well cadet" Anderson said "Well ma'am we need to activate the emergency antimatter dump system of the magnetic seals could leak and the matter and antimatter could mix, and the results" "What if the automatic dump system is offline?" "well evacuate engineering, seal it off then we'd have to try to vent it manually" Bezan finished Then the alarms went off, and everyone went back to their duty. Daniel nodded as the CMO explained that she would be taking him to the briefing. He was happy to meet the CMO, as he knew that he would be working with her as much as with Leo.
As they arrived at the briefing room Daniel was relieved to see that he was not the last to arrive, looking around he saw Cadet Trul waiting on the other side of the room. As the briefing got underway Daniel started to see that Joan was not very interested with the briefing, though it would not have been visible to anyone else in the room.
As the briefing came to an end, Daniel was not surprised that Cadet Trul had asked that question, as he never looked like a person who didn't question something he did not understand. But Daniel had been more surprised by the ambassador, as he looked as if he was slightly angry about something, Daniel pushed it to one side, hoping it was just his imagination.
As Daniel walked to the door of the briefing room he found Commander McCormick waiting for him.
"Cadet, I thought we would get a look of the bridge, and any other areas you might want to view of the ship. After that it is time for physicals in the Medical department, and it would be a good idea if you ran Evaluations,"
excited at the prospect of actually doing something, Daniel instantly answered."If you would not mind, i would like to get started on the evaluations" a small smile began to show as he finished.

Joan smiled knowing that was a good answer as any would be. "Sure, if you like we can get together on these. If it were me, I would get a list of questions to ask before getting the first victim, ummmm... I mean patient in a room with you," she said not liking she had used that word again. She smiled hoping the cadet would think nothing of it.
"If you wanted to get together, you could use my office for evaluations while I do physicals. I can be your first patient if you like, that way you can get a feel for evaulations, but don't expect everyone to volunteer like that. Sometimes getting the crew to cooperate is like pulling a child's teeth," Joan said as they entered the turbolift. She wasn't sure what he would think of her if she kept saying things like she did, but she thought it was okay for now knowing he might make up his mind and label her a nut after all. Joan often wondered what kind of nut she was, and hoped it wasn't anything as bad as a pecan.

"Good, very good cadet, but its not that easy," Lydia responded," what if the ship is under attack while this is going on? If we dump the antimatter into space and it mixes with any weapons fire it will ignite killing us in the process. What would you do then?"
<Tag Bezan>
She knew this would most likely never happen, but it had happened before to her on Voyager. They would need to filter out the antimatter through the secondary coupling matrix. It would lower efficiency, but the buildup would taper off and the antimatter levels would return to normal.
"Here's a hint, it has to do with the coupling matrix," Lydia said glad that she could teach this trick to someone else.

"Sure, if you like we can get together on these. If it were me, I would get a list of questions to ask before getting the first victim, ummmm... I mean patient in a room with you,"
Daniel could not help but smile as the commander called patients victims. He had to admit that he himself disliked having a physical, and no matter how old you got that never changes.
"If you wanted to get together, you could use my office for evaluations while I do physicals. I can be your first patient if you like, that way you can get a feel for evaulations, but don't expect everyone to volunteer like that. Sometimes getting the crew to cooperate is like pulling a child's teeth,"
Daniel thought that she was a little odd, but then to him most people were odd to some degree so he thought nothing of it. As they made their way from the turbo lift he began thinking of questions he would use for the evaluations, ~it is always best to start with general questions~ he remembered that his tutor had told him that.
Arriving at the CMO’s office he looked around the room, and began to think how he wanted to run the evaluations. He ignored the chair behind the desk because if he worked behind it every patient that he tried to evaluate would be too nervous to answer the questions. He suddenly remembered that Joan was standing next to him.
“Umm, Commander if you would like to take a seat, we can get started”
As Joan took her seat, Daniel took a nearby seat and began the evaluation though he hoped he would not make Joan too uncomfortable.

Alex sat in the captain's chair and wondered what the heck was going on. She never remembered his chair was that comfy, and she tried to not get used to it knowing he would want it back. The thought of her sharing her chair again brought back memories of K'ratrak who wasn't to be among them. She was sad when he announced he had to return to his planet for awhile, and hoped he would return soon enough.
Alex pushed these thoughts aside as she wondered why no one had submitted any real reports. She knew things were going good, but she didn't think they would be like that for too much longer. ~They think because its me they can slack off? Huff puff I hope not.~ Alex thought as the first report came in. She also had a padd on all the information they had on the planet. She wanted to be as prepared as possible. She realized then and there that they hadn't pulled out of dock yet, and sighed.
"Helm, set a course to Temactes Five, maximum warp,” she ordered desiring to get underway as fast as humanly possible. Helm confirmed.
“Go ahead and head out, oh and don’t scratch the paint,” Alex teased the pilot. She hated being too serious, and was glad she could get that in finally. She returned to her padds.

ooc sorry about the seperation of the post i had to leave mid-post
ic: Daniel watched as Joan continued to finish her answer to the last question. He was surprised how quickly she had loosened up, but was happy that there was nothing wrong with the commander. He hoped he had not made her uncomfortable with the questions but it tends to be unavoidable.
“Well I believe that finishes the evaluation, and I am happy to say you are perfectly fine”
Turning around to look out into the sickbay he noticed someone hovering, as if waiting for something. It dawned on Daniel that they had been talking for sometime now and this must be the first patient for the physicals.
“I think our first ‘victim’ has arrived, commander” smiling quickly to Joan as he spoke, to show that he understood what she had said earlier. “Would you prefer to start the physicals and I will take them for their evaluations after or vis versa” smiling kindly to show respect as he was in her office.
<TAG Joan>
“Yes ma’am, I get set up for the first patient then”, Daniel walked over to the desk to start getting ready for the first patient, quickly pulling up what records he would need. He started to wonder how many patients would have a problem with a cadet doing the evaluation. Daniel chuckled at the idea ~like they have a choice~.

He had a degree but you can never stop learning. ""Here's a hint, it has to do with the coupling matrix," Lydia said glad that she could teach this trick to someone else.<> Then it hit him through the hint given by Anderson "Filter out the antimatter through the secondary coupling matrix, but wouldn't that risk power to the weapons array during a battle situation?" Bazan said in a sigh. That was probabely not right. But he was still learning the practical side of the job, as he had only learned the theory side of things. True things would go back to normal but for a short time it was a risk.

Joan couldn't believe he found nothing wrong with her. "Are you sure, cadet? Many would think I am one of the insane ones around here," she said chuckling a little remembering some of the wild stunts she had pulled.
"Ah yes, we do have one, goodie. I should check them out first, because no one knows its time for physicals. We haven't announced it, so they are here because they are hurt or sick. I will send them to you once they aren't in harms way any more," Joan explained leaving him to his work on this.
She tended to the wounds and explained about the physical and evaluations occuring. She sent the young lady to the cadet waiting in her office hoping for the best.
=^=Doc. McCormick here. All officers need to report to sickbay for physicals and evaluations asap!=^= Joan announced hoping not to have to pull out some of her brutal ways to get people down to sickbay.

The ship was moving smoothly out of spacedock. Danny ran the final diagnostics on the Ops console, but it seemed all the damage from their previous encounter with a nightmare version of a Borg cube had been repaired successfully.
The mission was not one to look forward to. Flying smack into the middle of a war zone was not exactly his idea of a safe training mission for the cadets. true, they had to learn some time. True, the ambassador had said it wasn't actually a warzone. Still Danny wasn't exactly happy about it. He disliked having ambassadors aboard.
Ambassadors generally [word deleted] everyone off. Danny didn't trust diplomats, especially not when they tried to intervene in military matters. He frequently reminded himself that the Hepta was a Starfleet vessel, not a civilian transport. Still, Starfleet had made up their mind and the Captain had given her orders, so there wasn't much he could do about it now.
"BLAST!" Danny swore under his breath. He hated the idea of physicals every single mission, but he absolutely loathed the idea of being psycho-analysed by someone who dissected minds for a living. Ignoring the CMO's call, Danny continued working at his Ops console.

Daniel had not been surprised that people had started avoiding sickbay, the few who were there before the announcement were stuck but the rest of the crew would now only come to sickbay if they really have to, this made Daniel chuckle a little.
The first woman who had come into the office had given him no surprises over than the scars from the previous mission, which given that nightmares had come to life anyone would be. He had made a note of it in her records but saw no reason for her to stop working.
The next few showed similar signs as the first patient, which by that point was not surprising. Deciding that he will mention this to Leo the next time he saw him as it could become a problem later, but he doubted it.
As Daniel turned to see who was next he saw that sickbay had emptied, and Joan had the look that she was thinking of ways to bring officers in whether they liked it or not. He had the impression that she had a painful sense of humor but that is not something you can remove an officer for.
“Commander, I see we are all out of patients” a smile on his face as he spoke.

William frowned. He could stand physicals, but 'evaluations'...
"They do not have the capacity to handle all of the officers on this ship at one time," commented Cadet Salvack.
"No," agreed William. "They don't. But they also know that almost no one will go down there voluntarily." He sighed. "We might as well go now, I suppose. Doctors tend to be nicer if they don't need to drag you kicking and screaming into their office."
Salvack looked slightly confused for a moment, taking William's depiction too literally. Then he followed the older officer from the science station on the Bridge to the turbolift.

After the little trainning exercise Lt Commander Anderson had set up for him, Bezan went about his general duties of checking systems and running diagnostics programs in preparation for the mission.
He knew Anderson was a stifler for detail and he didn't want to let her down by missing details. He wanted to impress her, personally and professionally. So he went about making sure she had plenty of time to clean her quaters, by not desturbing her. He picked out his tricorder and ran some scans on the back up generater. Thats odd he thought to himself must just be a minor power surge
"Excuse me sir" he said to one of the enginnering officers "but i think the back up generator needs some attention, we just had a disturbance in the power flow"
"Well done Cadet, I just sent one through" Bezan looked strangely at the man as he said it " Well the Lt did say to keep you on your toes"
Bezan smiled at this. Lydia Anderson was still trainning him from her quaters, Now that was stiffleing.

Bezan heard the call and knew that Anderson must be on her way or maybe she was already on time. This was going to be one tough mission..

Alex noticed they would be in the system in the next couple of days and was glad of that. Things seemed to be running smoothly from what she saw, and happily read up on the reports she was given wondering if the Captain always had this much on his plate.
She heard the doctor's call, but just sighed and got up moving toward her ready room. "Lt, you have the bridge," she said to one of the officers and moved quickly before anyone could say anything about that call. She didn't want to have anything to do with physicals, and evaluations would only bring out the worst of what happened last mission.
Alex also didn't want to come to terms with several other things in her past, but instead just wanted them to disappear into the dust they had settled into. She went to the replicator getting a nice hot mug of hot chocolate and sitting down to more paperwork, as they used to call it way back when.

"Yes, cadet, I noticed that too. Like I said many won't come. They prefer dragging and screaming. I'm sure we could get them down here easy enough, just need to think of something. Well look there, two patience. Welcome Commander Ford. If you would come over to the biobed we can get started on your physical, then the cadet will do his evaluation in my office," Joan said trying to be nice about this. She knew he was dreading every minute he was in sickbay.
"You know, Commander, I trained in science when I was a cadet," Joan said trying the talking bit to see if it helped him relax a little. She continued to scan.
"Anything new since last mission? I see no new injuries," she pronounced. She motioned for him to enter her officer hoping the cadet would be just as welcoming if anything.
"Alright, cadet, your turn. Are you training with Commander Ford? Have you had anything ache or persist to be annoying wound or illness wise?" Joan asked hoping the cadet would be as helpful as the commander had been if not more.

Lydia was pleased to know that her cadet was more than capable. His knowledge of Starfleet systems was above average and he would end up making a great chief engineer. All he needed was pratical experience. Textbooks were great, she had written some herself, but experience was the best teacher.
"Computer, please tell me the dust ratio in my quarters," Lydia asked as she sat down.
"10,000 per cubic feet."
"Purge the quarters until the ration is down to 5,000 per cubic feet," Lydia said shocked how dirty the last occupant of these quarters had been.

He made his way to the turbo lift and got in. Making his way up through the decks he browsed the reports. He had barely enough time though because the turbo lift opened as he got half way down the first pad. Bezan walked out of the turbo lift and down the corridor to the sick bay. Then he entered. "Daniel" Bezan said in surprise "Nice to see you again, I'm sorry i haven't visited before but things got kind of crazy since leaving star base." Bezan and Daniel Biers shook hands. Then he stared at Doc McCormick she appeared to be preparing hypo sprays and other apparatus. This did not look good he had to get out of it. He would have to turn on the charm. "And this must be the beautiful Doctor McCormick" Bezan smiled. " Lt Commander Anderson shall be with us shortly" Tag Biers

As Commander Ford entered the office, Daniel sat down to look at the man standing in front of him.
“Take a seat Commander, I will try to make this as quick and as painless as possible” holding a serious face was becoming easier after so many patients.
The Commander nodding took a seat, Daniel began the evaluation. He once again started to see those signs of the recent mission but not as bad as some he had seen.
After spending some time Daniel thought there was no reason to continue annoying the commander anymore. “Okay Commander you can leave it there, I see no problem for you to worry about I would suggest though that you get some rest and think a little about that last mission when you get time”
Leaving the office he saw a Cadet enter, recognising Bezan Trol, Daniel made his way over to say hello to the Cadet.
"Daniel" Bezan said in surprise "Nice to see you again, I'm sorry I haven't visited before but things got kind of crazy since leaving star base."
Shaking Bezan’s hand Daniel smiled “It’s good to see you too, good luck getting out of this”
Turning around to re-enter the office he looked around to see Bezan trying to worm his way out of the physical. Upon entering the office he started to look up some records about the last mission as this was starting to get silly if everyone was going to come in here and he still had no idea what had happened.

Lydia was in no hurry to reach sickbay. She had many things to do and getting a physical was not on her top ten things to get done. There were warp diagnostics, bio gel replacements, and replacements of three warp coils. She needed to do this before they arrived at the planet. The engine needed to be at peak efficiency before she arrived. If she had to work 24/7 so be it.
Even though she was trying to delay her arrival she arrived rather quickly. She had forgotten how small intrepids were compared to starbases and sovereigns.
"Glad to see you brought those reports cadet," Lydia said as she took a seat," we'll be starting on some diagnostics as soon as we are done."

Alex had realized they had gotten to their destination. She saw the ambassador appear as if by magic to her location telling her he was heading for the planet alone.
"Oh no you don't. I don't give a darn who you outrank, our mission was to see you safely through this peace talks, and that's exactly what I plan to do. Like it or not, there will be an away team which you will be part of," Alex said. The ambassador looked like he wanted to say something, but she didn't let him get a word in edgewise.

Alex stood and stretched going back out to the bridge, knowing for now she had gotten out of evaluations and physicals. She wondered how much longer she would get away with such a thing, and hoped none of the crew was doing this as well.

Bryan left the conference room after the briefing and made his way to his quarters. He had not yet had ample time to unpack his belongings, and he also had some paperwork that he needed to complete before they arrived at their destination.
He was still not sure what to make of this ship, her crew, or her captain. He had been impressed by their speeches during the meeting, and they seemed to be operating at a satisfactory standard, but still it was a training ship! He felt insulted that Starfleet would assign such a ship to transport him; surely someone as important to the Federation as he should be ferried on only the best ships, perhaps one of the Sovereign class ships.
Reaching his quarters he pulled out a padd from inside his case and became reviewing the contents. He of course knew most of the information off by heart, but it never hurt to remind oneself of the facts.
After several hours, the alarm he had set to tell him when they reached their destination beeped. Picking up his padd and other necessary items he packed a small brief case and then left for the bridge. He fully intended to go to the planet alone, and wanted to make sure that this blasted captain would not interfere with his plans.
Entering the bridge he found the crew busy at their stations, he was silent for a few moments, awaiting someone to notice his presence. When Commander Nikmud did so, he informed her of his intentions. Not to his absolute surprised, she rejected him out right, and instead ordered several officers to accompany him.
Before he could even reply to her outrageous behaviour, she had left the bridge. Bryan stared silent at the empty command chair for several seconds. Then with a great huff picked his brief case back up and stormed off the bridge. He had a mission to complete at the moment, but the captain would not hear the end of this. Not by a long shot.

“Take a seat Commander, I will try to make this as quick and as painless as possible,” said the Cadet. Ford nodded and took a seat before the evaluation began. He hadn't minded Sickbay so much. Years ago, he had almost ended up training McCormick, but her training mission had taken place on the Hope, not the Hepta. Still, she was familiar with his department, and Sickbay was not too intimidating. A small room with a one-on-one conversation where someone attempted to analyse your brain was much less appealing to William.
“Okay Commander you can leave it there, I see no problem for you to worry about I would suggest though that you get some rest and think a little about that last mission when you get time,” said Biers at the end of the evaluation.
Similar advice to what William had heard from Dr. McCormick. He thanked the cadet for his time, neglected to give his opinion of the career choice Biers had been attracted to, and exited. He was not gone long, however, before Nikmud's voice echoed throuhgout the ship.

William tapped his commbadge. "Aye, ma'am." He reached the transporter room before anyone else and waited patiently, glad to know Danny would be accompanying the away team.

As Daniel began to look through the mission reports waiting for his next patient, =^= Dr. McCormick, Cadet Biers, Major Lohnen, Commander Ford, and Cadet Salvack, report to Transporter Room One. The Ambassador will be joining you, guard him if and when necessary. I also want to know more about what type of planet this is, Commander Ford. Keep in contact with the ship =^= Daniel realising that his name was said quickly replied =^= yes ma’am =^=
Leaving the office he spotted Bezan looking slightly happy about the arrangement, understanding his reluctance to be analysised he smiled to him “well, now you can not have an evaluation for a while, I will make an effort to get you in first when I return” quickly grinning to tell Bezan that he was joking Daniel turned to leave sickbay.
Finding his way to Transporter room one did not take long, as he had been looking up maps for the ship while waiting for patients. Arriving at the Transporter room he was happy to see that once again he was not the last to arrive. Smiling quickly to Commander Ford, Daniel decided to stand near the consol to wait for the rest to arrive.
