"Sir, Ma'am, continuing scans on all frequencies. The sensors have been tied in with Tactical. Request permission to leave the Bridge and help Commander MacFarland restore the shields in Engineering."
"Why aren't you in engineering already commander Löhnen?" S'reena shot back, "go, get off the bridge. McFarland needs all the help he can get!"
However, just as Löhnen had left the bridge, the indicator on the OPS station beeped. With a sigh, S'reena got up from her seat and moved over to it, staring at it with a blank look on her face. "Captain, a little hand please?" She beckoned TJ over, who quickly explained that the Vulcan ship had been found.
"Commander Hope, take an away team over there and search for survivors."
"Yes sir," S'reena replied, her mood improving considerably. "Ensigns An and Schmidt, report to transporter room one in five minutes!" she called after tapping her combadge, "Commander Barnes, you too and take a complete medkit." She flashed a grin at her CO then headed for the turbolift, grabbing a phaser from the arms compartment on her way out.
Minutes later, she walked into the designated transporter room and faced her small away team. "I want you all issued with phasers, and yes that includes you doctor." She glowered at him, knowing all to well how doctors generally felt about carrying weapons. "We don't know what we're beaming into. An, I want you to be in the lead, I will bring up the rear. Let's keep our doctors safe shall we, while we try to figure out what happened on that ship. Any questions?"
She nodded at the three of them then stepped onto the transporter platform, the others following suit. "Chief Wyatt, energise!" They materialised in one of the corridors, which was deserted and covered in darkness. "Lights," she ordered, and immediately ignited her own wrist light. She held her tricorder ahead of her, but gained no discernible readings. Her sharp hearing, however, did pick up something odd. Tucking her phaser away, she instead drew her Honour Blade, always preferring that over a phaser. Technically, she wasn't unarmed, but she wasn't quite armed according to her own orders.
She motioned for An to scout ahead. "Report anything you find, however useless," she ordered, "Schmid, go with An. Report in any bodies or injured you find. Doctor Barnes, you're with me." She beckoned him, his light glinting off her blade. Together they walked off, into a completely dark corridor.
It was then that fate seemed to thwart them. Barnes and S'reena had temporarily walked away from eachother to each examine something different and on their way back to their rendezvous point, Barnes seemed to trip over something. S'reena, thinking someone else was on approach, raised her blade before her. That's when she saw Barnes come sprawling towards her out of nowhere. She had no time to stop her reflex motion and Barnes fell full on her blade.
"Doctor!" S'reena cried, horrified at what had just happened. She eased the doctor to the deck, trying to keep him comfortable. "Oh I'm so sorry!" she continued, "I thought you were attacking me, I didn't see it was you before it was too late." She tapped her combadge. "An, Schmidt!" she cried, panic audible in her voice, "report to deck three, aft section immediately. Medical emergency!"

McFarland reached Engineering it was worse than he first feared, there was a warp core coolant leak which Cadet Cooper and 2 other engineers were trying to contain. Consoles around Engineering were in smoke and sparks were still flying, John looked around from his reinforced shift he only had 8 qualified engineers. He counted Cadet Cooper as qualified as he had shown remarkable leadership and resolve, traits which would serve him well when he was a Chief Engineer.
As John ran over to help his comm. beeped with a message from Major Löhnen; =^=Understood Commander, I'm on it. You'll here from me asap.=^=
John sighed in relief he was glad that Danny could spare the time to help him… Engineers had become sparse aboard the Hepta and he needed all the help he could get. John ran over to Cooper and the other engineers to try and seal the leak before it affected the warp core when his comm. beeped a second time as did his computer console…
=^= John, Cadets Anderson, Rochester, Barnes and Little, Mr O'Hara, Kanellos, Kirszner and Mandell are on route to Engineering they should have the necessary skills to provide support. =^= John immediately recognised Danny’s voice and tapped his comm.
=^= Thank you Major, we’re still pretty thin on the ground here but it’ll have to do. Good luck up there. =^=
Turning to Cooper, John smiled “At least you are still here! What better environment to learn in.” he laughed, trying to make light of the situation.
“We will have some Officers reporting in to provide support can you greet them and get them to work asap.” The young Cadet nodded and ran off to work as the personnel began to file in to help in Engineering.
John turned to his console, it was a message from tactical with the information received before the shield’s dropped. John reviewed the information again and again there was something familiar about the weaponry. It reminded John of something he had worked on in StarFleet R & D, his concentration was broken as Cadet Grebs entered, she looked surprised at the condition of engineering;
“Its not as bad as it looks.” John smiled, Loni grimaced…
“Its good you are here Cadet, I have some tactical data before the shields went down and I can’t make heads nor tails of it… something is familiar about the weapons I believe it may be of federation origin but I cannot be sure its certainly been modified.” John pointed to the computer console, Cadet Grebs nodded and got straight to work.
(Loni)
As John watched Cooper take the lead with the reinforcements Danny had sent he paired everyone off with 1 engineer and 1 officer it was a good move. A decision John would have certainly taken.
John tapped his comm. =^=Transporter Room 1, I need a site to site transport. I need 3 of the backup shield generators in the Cargo Bay beamed to Generators 5,6 & 8.”
=^= Acknowledged Commander =^= John’s badge beeped, as Major Löhnen entered Engineering.
“You’re just in time Major, Shield generators 5,6 & 8 are needed replaced with the backups. You any good at connecting some power conduits and generator cables?”
(Löhnen)

Cadet An received no response from Commander Hope concerning his discoveries. A second later, An received Hope’s demand, “Ensigns An and Schmidt, report to transporter room one in five minutes!” An hesitated to respond at first; he was not an ensign. Since Hope must have forgotten his rank, An responded, “On my way Commander.”
“Computer, locate Ensign An,” An asked. “Ensign An is not aboard the Hepta,” the computer reported. An relaxed; he did not want to end up in Transporter Room 1 for a family reunion. An backtracked a couple steps and grabbed a phaser and tricorder from the compartment, “not going to be much good without these,” An said to himself.
“If Commander Hope won’t respond, I better tell Commander K’ratak,” An advised himself. Calmer, An tapped his combadge to report his findings, “Cadet An to Commander K’ratak, the chroniton particles I detected may be from the Dutchman phase-cloaking with an interphase generator. If we perform an anyon sweep of the cluster, we could return the Dutchman to normal space.”
An entered the turbolift. He tried to relax, focusing on getting to the transporter. He never went on an away mission before, especially to a Vulcan ship. “Remember to scan for life readings when you dematerialize,” An noted to himself.
He checked the stun-setting on his phaser as he left the turbolift. Crew members were running down the corridor, bumping into him and each other. The transporter room door hissed open and he stepped in near the pad. “Least I’m not late this time. Hope must be running frantic,” An thought.
“Looks like Hope forgot your rank, too,” An said to Cadet Schmidt, who shrugged his shoulders in response. Schmidt seemed nervous to An. He was about to introduce himself when Commander Hope suddenly entered the transporter room. As the doors closed behind her, Hope said to the away team, “I want you all issued with phasers, and yes, that includes you doctor.” An patted his phaser instinctively as he noticed Hope starring at the doctor with a resentful stare. If Hope did not out rank An, he would have asked her if she ever runs out of those glares she gives everyone.
“We don't know what we're beaming into. An, I want you to be in the lead, I will bring up the rear. Let's keep our doctors safe shall we, while we try to figure out what happened on that ship. Any questions?” An shook his head, and thought to himself, “I guess if a ghost comes, it’s going to get the ‘ensign’ first.” The Commander nodded and stepped onto the pad with the away team behind her.
“Chief Wyatt, energize!” Hope instructed the chief.

The away team materialized in a pitch black corridor. “Lights,” Commander Hope ordered. The team activated their wrist lights. An opened his tricorder and walked, slightly dizzy, to the front of the group, taking his position as the Commander ordered. “Commander, I’m not reading any life signs,” An reported to Hope.
Hope motioned her hand to scout ahead. “Report anything you find, however useless,” she ordered, “Schmidt, go with An. Report in any bodies or injured you find. Doctor Barnes, you're with me.” An turned back and saw light reflecting off something in Hope’s hand.
“Alright Mr. Schmidt, let’s check this place out,” An whispered, “this ship smells like sickbay, don’t it? Stick close.” They walked down the dark corridor, following their lights as a guide. He downloaded a map of the Vulcan starship from the Hepta’s computer. An felt like he was walking down the halls of an ancient-Earth castle.
An’s tricorder detected an anomaly, “hey, Schmidit, there’s something up ahead giving off some sound frequency over 20 kHz, but I’m having trouble localizing it.” They walked on when An suggested that they head to the bridge.
“An, Schmidt!” a fearful Commander Hope screamed through the combadge, “report to deck three, aft section immediately. Medical emergency!” An and Schmidt turned and ran back down the corridor as An began scanning for Hope’s and Barnes’s location as a precaution, then holstered his tricorder.
An ran pass Cadet Schmidt and withdrew his type-2 phaser. Not since traveling to Jouret IV had An ever had to shoot someone. He always hoped that he didn’t kill his alien attacker, but did not stay long enough to find out. “Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,” An prayed quietly to himself. As they approached the turn, An listened for the steps of any possible attackers. He waved for Schmidt to step back before turning around the corner. He could not believe what he was seeing. Commander Hope, hunched over Dr. Barnes with a the handle of a Romulan Honor Blade sticking out of his chest.
“Schmidt!” An yelled to the doctor’s assistant, “It’s the doctor, he needs you!” An tried to force his mind to reject the idea of Hope stabbing their doctor. In shock, An asked out loud, “What were you doing with your Honor Blade on a Starfleet away mission?”
“Why would the commander bring her Honor Blade?” An reasoned in his mind, “This isn’t the Roman Star Empire. I wouldn’t bring my ko-dachi with me on an away mission. She’s crazy.”

As Simon did a final round of sickbay he heard the XO’s comm. “Ensigns An and Schmidt, report to transporter room one in five minutes!" Simon was about to continue what he was doing when he heard her continue "Commander Barnes, you too and take a complete medkit." ‘well there goes my afternoon’ Simon joked to himself tapping his comm. badge he responded =/\=Acknowledged=/\= moving to one of the stands he collected all he need for his medical kit before making his way with Harry to transporter room 1. Simon had a good idea that if he was being called for an away mission that meant they had found the Vulcan ship, entering the transporter room he noted that Cadet An had worked out that S’reena had meant him in that communication.
S’reena’s orders were the normal for a away mission, phasers to all which annoyed Simon to no end ‘I am a doctor I refuse to carry a weapon’ Simon thought but did not say. Putting the phaser in its holder were it would stay if Simon had anything to do with it, “I guess if a ghost comes, it’s going to get the ‘ensign’ first.” Simon smiled ‘this cadet has a sense of humour lets hope his aim is as good’. As the away team prepared to depart he set his tricorder to scan for any harmful pathogens in case the ships sensors missed something, they began to dematerialise and Simon looked at his tricorder so he would see the results quickly.
As they arrived on the Vulcan ship Simon immediately determined that the no one had been here in a while as the air was 100% oxygen which on a ship or anywhere else for that matter was impossible. Turning on his light and looked to S’reena “Commander, I’m not reading any life signs,” An reported to Hope Simon checked his tricorder “I agree, no life signs” Simon looked to An to nod to him, “Report anything you find, however useless,” she ordered, “Schmidt, go with An. Report in any bodies or injured you find. Doctor Barnes, you're with me.” Simon walked over to S’reena and they began making their way down the corridor towards the first large room on the ship, arriving Simon made his way over to one side his tricorder beeping as it picked up a faint reading whcih was decaying rapidly. Reading the scan results he was shocked, the sample which had since decayed away showed some properties that he knew.
After reading the results extremely carefully to ensure that he had it right he made his way back to S’reena to tell her the good news, as he rushed over to her he did not notice the debris on the floor and as he moved he tripped over and began to fall, right onto S’reena’s blade. Extreme pain went though his entire body, he tried to speak to at least tell her what he had found as he noted quickly that his tricorder was now as badly stabbed as he was, the blade had gone though his left hand side and as he could hardly breath it must have gone though the lung. He heard An and Harry rush into the room but at this point the lost consciousness and drifted into darkness.

S'reena hunched over the doctor, trying to figure out how to pull the blade from him, but at the same time keep the bleeding to a minimum. It didn't help that his hand was now lodged to his chest by her blade as well.
She looked up to see the two cadets approaching, then she pulled Schmidt down next to her to do his job. Cadet or no, he was at present the only doctor at hand as Barnes wasn't conscious or able to guide him through any procedure necessary.
Horrified, she looked up at the security cadet, who stood watching her, a shocked expression on his face. “What were you doing with your Honor Blade on a Starfleet away mission?”
The Romulan hadn't quite expected that expression. Wiping the red blood off on her tunic, she rose to her feet to face the cadet. "What I always do with my Honour Blade," she answered, "defend myself if necessary. It is as much to me, as that phaser is to you." She nodded down to Barnes. "I didn't know it was him until it was too late," she continued, "I had my back to him when I heard someone approach, and thinking myself under attack, I raised my dagger. Unfortunately, the doctor came flying towards me, and I saw no chance to stall my own movement."
She glanced past at Schmidt. "Will he be all right?" The young cadet shook his head to indicate it was too early to tell. "We can't beam back to the Hepta, they've gone to yellow alert after we beamed here. "Cadet Schmidt, do what you can to keep him comfortable, and see if you can still access his tricorder."
S'reena turned back to An. "What are you going to do now?" she asked him, fearful but also interested to see what course of action he would take now. By protocol, he should alert Captain Edwards of the situation and ask for back-up, or for immediate transportation of Doctor Barnes to sickbay. That was what his instructor would advise him. Sighing, she took a step backwards and tapped her combadge. "Commander K'ratak, take a security team and beam over to the Vulcan vessel immediately. We have a situation," she called, "and bring additional medical personnel. Doctor Barnes has been injured."

Working at figuring a way to stop anymore of the crew from being beamed off, he was annoyed when Commander hope Call him on his comm badge.
"Commander K'ratak, take a security team and beam over to the Vulcan vessel immediately. We have a situation," she called, "and bring additional medical personnel. Doctor Barnes has been injured."
Still not sure how to best handle himself, " Understood Commander I will be there shortly"
Calling down to medical he asked for more help he also signaled for Cadet Grebs to join him as well. After all she had medical training and might be able to help.
" Cadet Grebs you have 2 Min's to stop what you are doing and report to transport room 2. Please make sure you bring a med kit as well as your phaser. "
He was still not sure what was going on after all there were no life signs aboard the ship that they could detect. Then again there senors weren't working at there best either. He arrived at the transporter room to see Cadet Grebs already there and out of breath. He was impressed he hadn't given her alot of time but she had the things he asked for. Another Medical officer arrived along with 2 of his security personal.
Stepping up on to the transport pad he signaled the go ahead, He found him self on the Vulcan ship with people crowding around the doctor. When he walked forward to see what was going on. He saw the doctor lying on the floor with a Romulan blade in his chest, not even looking at Commander hope he turned to face Cadet An.
" Cadet An report what happened here, How did it happen and why. Most importantly why wasn't I notified or the captain by that chance" Giving the cadet a moment to collect himself he looked over at Commander hope.
" I'm guessing Commander while I'm waiting for my cadet to report, That is your blade in the doctor chest. I'm also guessing that there's a good reason why the xo of the ship goes against regulations and uses a knife instead of a phaser"
He had to remember to control his feelings on this, he had to control his hate for this woman. He didn't want to rush to anything but he was tired of not having answers.
" Okay lets start again somebody please tell me how the doctor has a romulan Honor blade stuck in his chest."
Looking over at Cadet Grebs he motioned her to bring the med kit and help Cadet Schmidt. Looking around the area he saw no threat it was dark and there were things scattered all over the place.
Turning to his other to security personal " Search the ship I want reports ever 5 Min's if you find somebody I want to know, do not engaged anybody until you are sure of your target do I make myself clear" They both nodded there heads and went about searching the ship.
Still waiting for answers he tapped his com badge " Captain Edwards we have a injured doctor might be life threating. I will have him transported as soon as he is stable please have a medical trauma team standing by. I will report happened shortly K'ratak out"
Looking around the faces in the crowed he got everybody attention. " If you are not assisting with the doctor please follow be to the back of the room while the cadets go to work"
" Cadet Grebs assist cadet Schmidt get him what ever he needs also treat this as a crime scene until further notice" Pausing " Cadet Schmidt you are the ranking doctor now treat him but as soon as your done I will need a report of his injury's and how they came about. I want your opinions as well as the facts but keep them separate"
Walking back to where everybody was standing he waited to find out just how this mission went from bad to worse.

S'reena stood to the side, observing the sudden mayhem of people. She watched Grebs kneel beside Schmidt and assist him in making the doctor comfortable. ~this is good~ she thought, casting a worried glance at the unconscious doctor. She was feeling incredibly guilty about this all, even though it was indeed an accident.
She watched the Klingon security chief walk about, barking his orders, but in all that time, she was being completely ignored, as if she wasn't there. None of the security team, including either security cadet, now paid any heed to her.
Finally, she walked up to the Klingon and tapped him on the shoulder. "Why isn't anyone asking me any questions?" she queried as he turned to face her.
S'reena took an involuntary step back as she saw the hatred in the Klingon's eyes, and by now knew that there was going to be trouble.

“Its not as bad as it looks.” Commander McFarland had said when she entered. "Sir, If I may say so. It is as bad as it looks." she commented. The place was in chaos, people trying to double up on jobs so that nothing was left overlooked. “I have some tactical data before the shields went down and I can’t make heads nor tails of it… something is familiar about the weapons I believe it may be of federation origin but I cannot be sure its certainly been modified.” He had continued and she went right to work. Her mind running in a million directions as she looked over the material which had been provided for her. She muttered under her breath as she continued her research. "It's possible." she said, to no one in particular as her fingers fairly danced over the console. "It could be a cloaking device." she spoke again, more to herself than anyone else but it kept the thought processes moving anyway.
She had just turned towards Commander McFarland to report when Commander K'rataks voice came over the comm. =/\= Cadet Grebs you have 2 Min's to stop what you are doing and report to transport room 2. Please make sure you bring a med kit as well as your phaser. =/\= The look she gave Commander McFarland as she turned away from the console and tapped her combadge. =/\= On my way Commander =/\= She tossed Commander McFarland a PADD on which she'd been putting her findings and spoke as she sprinted towards the door of engineering. "Everything I have is there, use it. Find that ship." And then she was gone, and on her way to transporter room 2.
One thing on her side was her personal medkit, a gift from her parents was always on her, strapped around her waist and the other was the fact she also always carried a phaser. She had not needed to stop to pick up either one. The jog alone caused her to be out of breath by the time she arrived. Commander K'ratak arrived shortly after and the two transported to the Vulcan ship. She didn't know what she was going to find but she wasn't sure she wanted to know either.
She automatically was already kneeling next to Doctor Barnes before Commander K'ratak motioned for her to do so. She knew that Cadet Schmidt was there first and this was his show, but she was there to support him in whatever way he needed. Her mind again moving in a million directions as she took in the scene before her. Commander Hope standing nearby, the Romulan blade which stuck out of Doctor Barnes abdomen and his labored breathing. It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what had happened. The question on her mind was "Why?"

While waiting to hear reports from his cadets he felt a tapping on his shoulder, turning around he saw it was Commander hope. He was disgusted that she had the nerve to touch him. Not being able to control his hate for her it showed in face total unmistakable hate. when he heard ask why isn't anybody asking me questions.
Raising his voice higher then he should have, still anger about not having answers from anybody and the fact she had touched him asking him a question.
" Commander Hope don't ever put your hands on me again with out asking permission. If you do so again I will take that as a challenge. You don't want that trust me on that. Nobody has asked you any questions because of what appears to have happened."
Trying to get a grip on himself so that he wouldn't rip her head off. " What I see and what may have happened are not backed up with anything yet. To me it appears " Raising his voice again " That a unskilled warrior took a non-standard weapon into a unknown situation and stabbed somebody with it. Instead of caring a phaser set on stun, in which case if my guesses are right the doctor would only have a nasty headache right now. But since you are asking questions and want somebody to get your side of it. Then please by all means tell me how a trained Star fleet officer Romulan warrior at that accidentally stabs a doctor."
" Or am I mistaken about the Romulan warrior part maybe your a coward who got scared and over reacted. A True warrior is always aware of the situation and knows how to handle them selves not something I would expect from a Romulan."
Lowering his voice alittle " Let me make something very clear to Commander Hope, I don't know what happened and right now I don't want to know your side of it. Not until I get a report from Cadet An. This will give you the time to make sure your statement is clear and exact. At which time I will take your statement check it against there reports and the facts. I will not have anybody question my report or accuse me of unfairness because to be honest. I'd rather see you laying on the floor then our doctor."
" So Commander step back collect your thoughts on what happened, either way this goes your going to be in trouble. The captain is not going to be happy about what happened, he expects alot out of his crew and even more out of his first officer. Your going to have to explain to him why you felt the need to use a knife instead of a phaser set on stun which are the standard operating procedures. You stabbed somebody that isn't going to be over looked weather it was accident or a cowardly Romulan"
" Now if you will excuse me for the moment I want to get my facts straight, before you ask any questions, and see if I'm going to need to read you your rights. But until further notice you are no longer in charge or command her until then. By authority as my position as chief Tactical and security officer you are relieved of command until our return to the hepta. Where Captain Edwards will make the decision as to what to do with you." Looking Commander hope in the eyes he could tell that she wasn't scared of him. But he knew this was making her mad and he better be very careful or he could be facing charges, he then just smiled at her and turned around to face his cadet An.
He was angry at himself for loosing control like that. He knew he had crossed the line. There would be questions he himself would have to answer for on how he just acted. With no other course left to him and hating himself for loosing control like that, he knew in order to make sure ever thing is done on the level with out personal feeling involved.
" Cadet An you are now in charge of this investigation. You will collect all the facts and question Commander Hope. I expect you to go by the book, you will also inform the captain of the way I just acted and charge me with disrespecting a supior officer and conduct unbecoming. I will have no say in this investigation as my personal views of Commander Hope might cloud the facts"
Pausing for a moment to collect himself " She is still a Commander and the XO of the ship but she is not in charge and has no command authority on this situation only. Any order given that does not pertain to this current problem will be obeyed treat her with the respect do to her rank and position. Something I should have done instead of loosing control like that. " <Tag An>
Walking over to where the doctor lay " Okay you two speed it up if possible and make sure you collect ever thing, I want the Doctor back a board ship and in sick bay as soon as possible. Make your reports to Cadet An he is now in charge of this investigation"
Walking to the other side of the room, He was angry with himself for loosing control like that. He had no love for Commander Hope but he knew better. Still he was a Klingon and would face what ever happened as a Klingon. Well at least with him not handling the case, Commander Hope would get fair and just treatment with out any questions being asked. Well I at least I cleared my head enough to do that. To be honest he was not scared of Commander hope he was more worried about what his captain was going to say. After all he hadn't lied about that to Commander hope. Captain Edwards expected alot out of his crew and right now he had failed him on that.

John was making all the arrangements for the shield generators being replaced so as to up the Hepta’s shield capabilities. John had paired himself with Major Lohen for 2 reasons to discuss with him what he believed to have happened to the Hepta. John still did not know what had happened exactly and was unsure. Before John could give his orders he heard Cadet Greb’s comm. badge beep and Commander K’ratak’s voice come over her comm. John stared at Loni she had orders to leave and she made for the door turning to throw John a padd with her findings as she left:
"Everything I have is there, use it. Find that ship."
John smiled; “Good luck Cadet.” Whatever she had been called away for it must have been important. John tucked the padd into his trouser pocket to review at a later date the shields were a priority. John turned to Cooper and Danny.
“Cadet Cooper, you take generator 8. Major you are with me, we’ll fix Generators 5 & 6 they are in close proximity to one another.”
(Cooper)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
John and Danny raced out of Engineering after collecting several tools for the task and made there way to generator 5. John was not as fit as he used to and the run had taken it out of him as they reached the generator. He leaned on the doorway and paused for breathe…
“Okay Major, this should be simple enough now we need to position the new generator cables here and here and attach these conduits. The trouble is that they both need to be attached simultaneously.”
John smiled and turned to Danny, “Now attach your cable on my mark, Mark!” John instructed and the generator began to buzz with life.
“Good work Major, now if I just connect this and run a quick disagnostic, So have we got any leads on who attacked us?” John asked Danny while waiting for the diagnostic to complete.
(Löhnen )
As the Major finished, the console John was working on beeped signalling the end of the diagnostic. The generator power was restored to shields.
“Okay we are done here! Follow me, 1 down and 1 to go…” John said as he raced across to generator 6 which was housed further along the corridor. Arriving at generator 6 John and Danny repeated the same process and powered up the final generator.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As John switched to the console he ran a ship wide diagnostic on all generators and relayed the results to Danny:
“Looks like Cooper got generator 8 operational. Shields are now at 80 % across the whole ship. Considering the beating we took that is not so bad. Its not great but we’’ll work to improve it, I just hope its enough – the shields cannot take another beating like last time.”
(Löhnen )
John tapped his comm. badge to inform the Bridge. =^= McFarland to Bridge, shields have been restored to 80% across the whole ship. If whatever it was attacks us again we'll be ready for 'em! =^=
(Bridge)
John turned to Danny once more, "I believe that I may be able to remodulate the shields so we can repel whatever weaponary is being used against us. From the data we retrieved from the last attack I can narrow down the weapon's frequency and make the shields more effective. It wont take me long to code the program and update the shields."

S'reena took a few breaths, swallowing the angry retort she was about to give. K'ratak was right, she did need to collect her thoughts. To her amazement, she heard Grebs mutter something about Barnes being stabbed in his abdomen. ~funny vision she got of Human anatomy~ she thought grimly, as she saw her blade clearly protruding from the poor doctor's chest, his left hand still pinned onto the blade, the tricorder crushed between his hand and his chest.
"How is he?" she asked carefully, not wanting to disturb the concentration of both cadets. She waited for either to answer, why security officers barred her way, and held her back, waiting for An to come and question her.
She took another few deep breaths, then sank down the wall; she really needed to sit down. She feared for the doctor's life, how could she have been so careless? She felt guilty and shamed, even more so since she had obviously let her commanding officer down. Not just her current temporary one, but her actual one too once he would get wind of it. And get wind of it, he would eventually, there was no doubt about that.
S'reena was even more surprised to see that none had thought to remove her phaser. Surely a good security officer would've done so? She called the security cadet to attention, then slowly started to draw her phaser, knowing the cadet was at full alert now. She needed to be careful, and not look suspicious in her movements. Breathing slowly, trying to control her fear, she let the phaser drop to the deck, then gave it a firm shove towards An. "You may not wish me to be armed," she told him, "and you may wish to start your investigation. Doctor Barnes needs proper medical attention, he needs to be beamed back to the Hepta as soon as possible. And Captain Edwards needs a report immediately."
The Romulan paused, gazing up at the young man before her. "Am I under arrest?" she finally asked after a long silence. She had told him it had been an accident, but it still needed investigating. And until Barnes could back up her testimony, all they had to go on was her word, which wouldn't mean much if the doctor were to expire.

“What were you doing with your Honor Blade on a Starfleet away mission?” asked An.
She wiped the doctor’s blood on her tunic and rose to her feet. “What I always do with my Honour Blade," she answered, "defend myself if necessary. It is as much to me, as that phaser is to you."
“With all due respect Ma’am,” An replied knowing he was walking a fine line, “my phaser isn’t anything to me. It is a tool that I am required to have on an away mission for my protection and the protection of others.”
She nodded down to Barnes. "I didn't know it was him until it was too late," she continued, "I had my back to him when I heard someone approach, and thinking myself under attack, I raised my dagger. Unfortunately, the doctor came flying towards me, and I saw no chance to stall my own movement."
S'reena turned back to An. "What are you going to do now?" she asked him, fearful but also interested to see what course of action he would take now.
An wanted to follow protocol, calling for an emergency transport of Doctor Barnes to sickbay followed by a request for a security team. Hope and An reached for their combadges at the same time. S’reena beat him to the finish.
"Commander K'ratak, take a security team and beam over to the Vulcan vessel immediately. We have a situation," she called, "and bring additional medical personnel. Doctor Barnes has been injured."
“We have a situation?” An thought to himself, “he has been injured? You just stabbed him!” He kept his feelings to himself for the moment; this is not the time to argue with her. Captain Edwards needed to be notified of her behavior and decided to talk to Commander K’ratak when he came onboard. An wanted to disarm Commander Hope himself and have her arrested. Tantodori techniques raced through his head. An prepared himself and adjusted his stance for Chudan tsuki, Shomenuchi, or Yokomenuchi.
Seconds later, Commander K’ratak, Cadet Grebs, a medical officer and two security officers dematerialized down the corridor.
"Cadet An report what happened here, How did it happen and why. Most importantly why wasn't I notified or the captain by that chance?” An relaxed, feeling relieved that K’ratak was there. Though he thought about exactly what he saw and what she had said, he stayed ready incase she decided to use her knife again.
As An was to make his report to K’ratak, he saw Hope approach K’ratak from behind. “Why isn't anyone asking me any questions?" she asked. He was shocked to see her step back from K’ratak and hoped her personal honor suffered for it.
When K’ratak’s voice raised, An pulled out his phaser and was ready to fire on them both if their talk escalated any further. An prepared for a reenactment of the Khitomer Massacre as he held his phaser on Commander Hope.
As Commander K’ratak turned around to face An, An holstered his phaser and hoped K’ratak understood why his phaser was pointed in their direction.
“Cadet An you are now in charge of this investigation. You will collect all the facts and question Commander Hope. I expect you to go by the book, you will also inform the captain of the way I just acted and charge me with ‘disrespecting a superior officer’ and ‘conduct unbecoming.’ I will have no say in this investigation as my personal views of Commander Hope might cloud the facts.”
Pausing for a moment to collect himself, "She is still a Commander and the XO of the ship but she is not in charge and has no command authority on this situation only. Any order given that does not pertain to this current problem will be obeyed treat her with the respect do to her rank and position. Something I should have done instead of loosing control like that.”
“Yes sir. Understood,” An replied, “Hope said that she had her blade out to defend herself as a safety precaution. I didn’t see her actually stab him but she says it was an accident.” An added, “Since she, as a first officer aboard a Starfleet vessel, brought a Romulan Honor Blade with her on a Starfleet away mission and stabbed our chief medical officer, I request that Commander S’reena Hope be arrested and sent to the brig. As for her professional judgment, she should be considered ‘medically unfit,’ under Protocol 121, until our ranking medical officer and ship’s counselor question her and after my investigation is complete.”
Commander Hope dropped her phaser, then shoved it towards An. “You may not wish me to be armed,” she told him, “and you may wish to start your investigation. Doctor Barnes needs proper medical attention, he needs to be beamed back to the Hepta as soon as possible. And Captain Edwards needs a report immediately.”
After looking back to K’ratak, An had Cadet Grebs and her medical team beam back to the Hepta. The doctor should have been beamed back to the Hepta a long time ago, but did not want to override Commander Hope’s orders at the time. But now, An had no problem overriding anything that Hope wanted.
"Am I under arrest?" she finally asked after a long silence. “Yes, Ma’am, you most definitely are,” replied An. The security team surrounded Commander Hope. An read her rights and charges under Federation Law and had her transported to the Brig.

TJ, seated in the command chair, fastened his eyes screen-ward. Everything appeared quiet and orderly, but he somehow couldn’t shake the feeling of impending doom. His knuckles whitened on the arm of his chair, and his stomach churned. Swallowing hard, he wished this mission – or at least the absence of the away team – was at an end.
His thoughts were interrupted by a message from engineering… =^= McFarland to Bridge, shields have been restored to 80% across the whole ship. If whatever it was attacks us again we'll be ready for 'em! =^= Good man, he thought.
It was only moments as the Irishman starred at the viewscreen that he noticed in its upper right corner a patch of red appearing without warning. Instantly his mind went back to the briefing in Admiral Drew’s office. He had mentioned that just prior to the Dutchman’s appearance, there were often reports of an eerie red glow. TJ’s finger quickly depressed a switch on the arm of his command chair.
"Mr. McFarland, you’ve just told me ye have th’ shields at 80 per cent. Do what ye can t’ raise that percentage as quickly as possible."
Against his wishes, he had to issue a command. "Shields up – full power. Ship to red alert."
Another button connected him to S’reena, currently on the Vulcan ship.
"S’reena, your homecomin’ t’ th’ Hepta will be postponed a wee bit. Incoming ship has appeared,,,, an’ I’m thinkin’ it’s th’ Dutchman. Shields have had t’ go up, an’ we’ll try t’ draw its fire from ye, then take ye back aboard as soon as shields can safely be lowered."

“Stand up, Commander,” An commanded with authority in his tone. S’reena stood, starring An directly in the eye. An broke her gaze and nodded to one of the security personnel to bind Hope’s wrists behind her lower back. The security officer hesitated, but came around. An knew that she accidentally stabbed the doctor, but that did not excuse her from the fact that she brought a non-Starfleet weapon on a Starfleet away mission. Not only did she endanger the crew by bringing a knife, but she lethally stabbed the ship’s doctor.
When her wrists were successfully bound, he checked them. He could feel how tense she was, but he did not know if it was from fear or self-restraint, or both. The other security officer picked up her phaser and handed it to An. The cadet could not see her as a commanding officer right now, he looked at her only as a detainee.
“Thank you…” An started but was interrupted by the captain. “S’reena, your homecomin’ t’ th’ Hepta will be postponed a wee bit. Incoming ship has appeared….an’ I’m thinkin’ it’s th’ Dutchman. Shields have had t’ go up, an’ we’ll try t’ draw its fire from ye, then take ye back aboard as soon as shields can safely be lowered.”

Listening to the exchange between Cadet An and Commander Hope, he was happy to see his cadet take charge. When it appeared they were going home to the hepta he heard the captain message. They weren't going anywhere and to top it off it seem liked matters were getting worse the alien ship was on its way.
Looking around he knew the choice's he had to make weren't going to be easy. He saw that Commander hope was already in restraints. Think about what was going to happen and they were stuck on this Vulcan ship, he had to start weight his next decision. He knew he was going to up set his cadet but there was no choice right now. What ever Commander Hope had done didn't matter right now. They had to help the Hepta she was a bridge officer he was the tactical with the cadets they might be able to help the Hepta.
" Cadet An I do believe since the matter has changed I will take charge for moment. This by no means will stop your investigation. Commander Hope will still be under arrest, but right now I need the Commander free to move and to help me formulate a plan to help the Hepta. Are ship is still not fully operational and she will need what ever help we can get out of this ship."
he could tell Cadet An was not happy " This is not a request cadet its a order" He looked over at his security detail they removed her restraints. " Commander Hope how we feel about each other will take a back seat right now. We have to help the Hepta I cant work weapons systems direct our team and pay attention to the alien ship all at once. I need your " Puasing because he couldn't believe he was asking a romulan for the help " I need your help the team will follow your orders" he looked around the room letting everybody know not to question his decision.
" Now Commander I suggest we leave the medical team to what they have to do and get to the bridge to see if we can do anything to help the Hepta"

Sitting quietly on the floor of his cell, Mati set his bowl down on the floor. Another meal of what ever it was that they were feeding everyone. Nobody knew just what it was.
Suddenly there were shouts of surprise coming from everywhere. As he looked up, Mati noticed that there was someone now standing over him.
With a slight smirk on his face Mati said to the newcomer, "Welcome, Commander McFarland. I hope you brought some real food, and maybe a bottle of some fine wine. No? Well, I hope you can figure out a way to get us home sooner than I did. My plan? Still working on it. But I have the backing of most of the crew that are left. Since we've been here, four have died trying to escape, and fifteen women have been taken and not seen since. We number just over two hundred not including those who came with you. We should be getting a count here soon."
Just as that was said, a young boy, wearing the blue of a medic, bent to wisper in Mati's ear. "Well Commander, it seems that our numbers are now up to four hundred and ninty seven. We should be expecting a visit from our host any time now."

S'reena watched the young security cadet closely as he spoke, nodding at the appropriate times when he did address her. When told to do so, she got to her feet, flanked by a security officer on either side. She made no protest when An odered her hands bound behind her back, in fact if he hadn't ordered it, she would've suggested such a course of action herself. The two guards were surprisingly careful with her, one even did her the courtesy of asking whether she was still comfortable.
Making no answer, she stood motionless as An expected the bonds himself. All her muscles were tense, a feat which An could see without effort, she feared for her future, but she feared even more for the doctor.
The Romulan listenend as a communiqué came in from the Hepta, one which no-one seemed to want to answer. "Understood captain," S'reena answered quietly, making no hint to their current predicament. When she wanted to continue her report, the signal suddenly went dead, as if something was jamming it. From the corner of her eyes, she could see the Klingon sizing up the situation, and on her other side, Grebs and Schmidt were still kneeling beside Barnes' prone body. Either cadet had a worried look on his or her face, which told S'reena his prognosis so far wasn't good. ~please don't die~ she prayed silently, swallowing back her grief while gazing down at her feet.
She looked up when K'ratak approached and actually spoke to her in less than a menacing manner. "Commander Hope how we feel about each other will take a back seat right now. We have to help the Hepta I cant work weapons systems direct our team and pay attention to the alien ship all at once. I need your.."
S'reena gazed at him expectantly, wondering what he meant with 'feeling about each other'. The only thing she was aware of was some sort of animostity from the Klingon towards her, however she harboured him no ill feelings. One of her best friends was Klingon.
"I need your help the team will follow your orders" he looked around the room letting everybody know not to question his decision.
S'reena nodded in response, though she wondered about the following orders part. She was an officer under arrest and suspicion of purposefully causing bodily harm, how many people would follow her orders and trust her judgement now?
"Now Commander I suggest we leave the medical team to what they have to do and get to the bridge to see if we can do anything to help the Hepta"
S'reena rubbed her wrists after K'ratak had released the bonds, then rolled her shoulders in an attempt to reduce the tense feeling. "An, take the tactical console and see if you can get it back online," she ordered, "oh I know you want to stay close to me. Don't worry, I'll be in your line of sight at all times. If I threaten to disappear from that, I expect you to shoot me. Understood?"
At An's nod, she turned towards the medical team. "Miss Grebs, as Mr Schmidt seems to be a little queesy right now, you need to take charge of medical decisions. Find yourself this vessel's sickbay and see to it that Doctor Barnes receives all necessary treatment. When you release my blade, turn it over to Cadet An." She shot An a threatening look. "I expect you to treat that weapon with the proper respect cadet, it is not just any weapon. It is unique, and of great personal value to me."
Then she turned back to K'ratak and the remaining guards. "Who of you has any engineering training?" When several raised their hands, she nodded towards them. "Find engineering and see if you can coax thruster power out of this vessel. Impulse would be better though. Commander K'ratak, I need you to take the helm once engineering gives the word we got engine power."
She nodded towards the centre seat. "I will keep myself properly quiet and will sit overthere until the situation calls for me to be in any other place." She glanced back at An. "Will that be acceptable to you?"

Simon was walking down the corridor looking at his collar he saw 2 gold pips with a hollow pip next to them, ‘why does that feel odd’ as he continued to the bridge he kept think ‘how many times must I drag him to sickbay before he realises I am not letting up this time’. As he arrived on the bridge he noted the captain was speaking to the Klingon Captain whose ship was presently being helped to the boarder. “I must thank you for taking out our engines, maybe a death match will be fitting” the Klingon captain said before laughing “Well maybe when I board the Poseidon tomorrow to discuss this” Simon walked down and looked at the XO who was trying not to show he was in pain while in his seat. “Well until then, Qapla’” Was the captain’s only response, “Qapla‘” as the screen returned to the view of stars passing them by Simon rounded on the XO “well I see it took you 5 minutes to break out of sickbay again, you need to rest or your leg will not mend and I am sure you want to continue to act like a security officer tomorrow!” Simon did not care what that sounded like, if he did not get back soon he was going to blow.
“Excuse me but I believe I am well enough to return to duty” the XO turned in his chair and looked at Simon, the captain in the mean time had tried to wade in before this situation exploded. “Well I am sure Commander Var will report to Sickbay in 3 hours after we have dropped off our guests” Simon rounded on the captain “Sir, he has had his entire leg cut off, it requires a minimum of 4 days rest before the seal is permanent and to my knowledge he has only been down for 2, if he does not return soon I can not guarantee that his leg will not get infected or worse” Simon looked at the captain who was obviously looking for a way to keep both the doctor and the XO happy. “So Commander Var, you will report to sickbay now and remain for at least 2 more days then I will release you should you check out as all clear. No negotiations, just that.” the Xo just looked at Simon and said “I will take that under advisement”. unable to hold it any more he snapped “right, Commander Var I am relieving you under Order 104, Section C. security will now escort you to sickbay, that is an order commander” as the XO approached Simon pulled out his phaser and fired by accident.
Simon opened his eyes to see Loni moving him somewhere, before he could move or say anything he felt tired and closed his eyes.

"An, take the tactical console and see if you can get it back online," Commander Hope ordered, "oh I know you want to stay close to me. Don't worry, I'll be in your line of sight at all times. If I threaten to disappear from that, I expect you to shoot me. Understood?"
“Yes, Ma’am. Understood,” responded An. He kept his eye on the commander, somewhat trusting her, but mostly suspicious of her. Hope gave a poor first impression. Her commands and orders seemed reasonable, so far. As for the future, he hoped he would not have to arrest her for another “situation.” An tried to imagine brining his ko-dachi with him on an away mission, but could not.
As for Commander K’ratak, An did not want to press charges on him and hoped he reserved the right to not press “disrespecting a superior officer” and “conduct unbecoming” charges against him. Commander Hope had it coming to her and K’ratak said everything An thought to himself. An reminded himself to talk to K’ratak about his options as a security officer pressing those charges.
An activated his silver tricorder and scanned the Vulcan bridge for anything out of the ordinary. His fingers moved over the black pads. He found that same high frequency sound, again.
He found the tactical station and activated the ship’s internal scanners. While at Starfleet Academy, cadets are taught to be familiar with other Federation tactical stations, depending on the ship’s class. With the ship’s scanners, he could locate the source immediately. Engineering.
“An to our Engineering personnel,” An called into his combadge, “you guys be careful down there; something in Engineering is giving off a sound frequency of over 20 kHz.”
After Commander Hope gave orders to other crew members, she shot An a threatening look. “I expect you to treat that weapon with the proper respect cadet,” she instructed, “it is not just any weapon. It is unique, and of great personal value to me.”
“Yes, Ma’am,” replied An, “I will treat that weapon as evidence in a Starfleet investigation.” An semi-tested her now, to judge her response. He needed to see if she was mentally fit to be in a command position. He decided that if she snaps at any time, he was going to arrest her himself. Personally, he preferred to keep her bound against a bulkhead, away from the crew. But, he knew that they need her experience. Yet, he pondered over the possibility that she may have some Romulan Alzheimer’s Disease, though she seemed young.
She nodded towards the center seat, “I will keep myself properly quiet and will sit over there until the situation calls for me to be in any other place.” She glanced back at An, “Will that be acceptable to you?”
“It will be acceptable, for now, Commander,” An answered back. He could not tell whether or not she had a hint of sarcasm in her voice, or if that was only her Romulan attitude. “I would feel better if she could be cleared by the ship’s counselor or the chief medical officer,” An thought to himself, “oh yeah, that’s right, she stabbed him.”

Loni was busy ascertaining what had happened to the doctor when Commander K'ratak approached and spoke. " Okay you two speed it up if possible and make sure you collect ever thing, I want the Doctor back a board ship and in sick bay as soon as possible. Make your reports to Cadet An he is now in charge of this investigation" She glanced up and nodded. "Yes Sir." she knew speed was of the essence due to the severity of his injuries. There wasn't much that could be accomplished there and realized a well stocked medical bay was necessary.
"Sir, we have to get him moved to sickbay and quickly." she stated as she stood and stretched, trying to collect her thoughts."How is he?" The voice coming from slightly behind her. Loni turned to face the Exec. "He's not doing well Ma'am." Loni replied before settling back down next to the doctor, speaking to him briefly while they prepared to beam back to the Hepta, which didn't happen. What now? she thought as she heard the Captain speak.
Loni glanced at Cadet Schmidt and bit back a retort as Commander Hope spoke up. "Miss Grebs, as Mr Schmidt seems to be a little queasy right now, you need to take charge of medical decisions. Find yourself this vessel's sickbay and see to it that Doctor Barnes receives all necessary treatment. When you release my blade, turn it over to Cadet An." He did indeed look several shades of green. "Yes Ma'am, of course Ma'am."
What a time to lose your stomach. she thought. "Come on, help me get him to sickbay." she said to Schmidt. "We'll need something to carry him on because we can't do it and I don't want to remove the blade here." she stated in a matter-of-fact tone.
Several minutes later a litter had been formed out of what they could find and the two medical cadets took their charge and made their way to sickbay. Once they arrived in the sickbay on the Vulcan ship Loni quickly took stock of their situation and what they had available to them. It didn't take her long to fall into her element and prepare the doctor for surgery.
Loni stood over the doctor and bit her lip. All she could do was hope for the best and do her best. "Hang in there doc." she said as his eyes fluttered. She pressed the hypospray against his neck and began preparations to remove the blade. The two security guards who had accompanied them to sickbay standing right outside the door of the surgical bay waiting for the blade once it was extracted.

S'reena sat down and glanced up at K'ratak, while listening to a report from the guards in engineering. "We've got thrusters operational," Ensign Dolores Titan reported, "I don't know how long we'll be able to keep it operational but it should be able to move us around a bit now."
"Thank you ensign, good work," the Romulan replied, "see if you can get us impulse. Strip other area's if you have to. Cut life support to anywhere that it can be spared. Do not reroute any power from bridge or sickbay, or the most direct route from engineering or sickbay to the bridge."
"Understood, Titan out."
"Commander K'ratak, set course for the Hepta," S'reena ordered, "best possible speed and alert the Hepta that we're coming to their aid." She swiveled her seat around to face An, who, unsurprisingly, had his phaser trained on her. "Cadet An, activate whatever weapons this vessel has, if any and aim them at the enemy vessel. Co-ordinate attacks with the Hepta once you've solved the issue of our signal being jammed."
"Hope to Grebs. Report please?" She dearly hoped the doctor would be all right, then turned as a security officer entered the bridge with a bloodied dagger sealed in an evidence bag. She nodded for him to hand it over to An, who would take control of it. With the proper reverence, Security Officer Dwayne Merritt handed the evidence over to Cadet An, then disappeared from the bridge once more.
"Status report," S'reena ordered, swiveling back to view the main view screen. "Enemy status, Hepta status. Any luck on breaking through that jam? Captain Edwards needs to be notified of our situation..."
She was about to say more when the Vulcan vessel was struck hard and everyone was thrown from their seats. "Shields!" she cried out as she climbed back in her seats. From tactical, An reported they had no power to shields, and were thus vulnerable to attack.
Sighing, S'reena bolted from her seat to the science station at the opposite side of the bridge and started rerouting enough power from vacant areas of the ship to give them minimal shielding. "That should keep us somewhat safe, at least safer than before," she murmured.

Not liking the fact he had a Romulan at his back, but knowing there only hope was to all work to gether, he sighed there was no choice in this right now. He heard the orders for the thrusters and to head to the hepta. When all of a sudden the ship shook from weapons fire, he was thrown from his station and hit hard.
Getting back up he hear Commander Hope yell for shields, everybody was busy taking his station he saw her running to the science station trying to get power to shields. Looking back down at his station he got a report from his officer's in engineering. They could restore 1/4 impulse or give a 10 sec warp jump. Either way the impulse engine would not last longer then maybe 5 Min's.
" Commander Hope Ensign Dolores reports we have to options either 5 Min's of 1/4 impulse drive or a 10 sec Warp Jump. Its only by overriding failsafe that she can pull it off, after that we are left with just thruster."
He was having a hard time trying to keep the ship in a straight line the thruster were damaged and he was timing them to keep the ship moving.
" I'm still having no luck raising them either the communications are out or ours still don't have the range. "
Still trying to come up with options he found him self being thankful he didn't have to make the tuff choice just yet. Still looking down at his controls he checked to see how much fuel was left for the thruster. Lucky they were still carrying more then half a load in the tanks more then enough. It was time to come up with a last option rerouteing battery power from a back up system he programed it to explode the fuel cells and blow the ship. He didn't want to but if it came to that he want Commander Hope to have more options. He set the command to standby and routed to her seat. He knew once she sat back down she would understand that if they had to they could blow the ship and do some damage hopefully to the alien ship.
It was a waiting game now, he found himself coming to respect Commander hope alittle ,could she come up with something a idea he hadn't thought of yet. If not then they both knew what choice was going to have to be made. Still they had good cadets maybe one of them would come up with another option.

John had just notified the bridge of the new shield generators and capabilities as the shield generator sprung to life and the red alert siren echoed around the ship. John looked at Danny and they both had the same thing in mind, to get to their posts. They ran simultaneously for the door, John shouted to Danny as he ran, “Try and keep the shields from collapsing this time, Major.” They both laughed as John’s comm. badge beeped. "Mr. McFarland, you’ve just told me ye have th’ shields at 80 per cent. Do what ye can t’ raise that percentage as quickly as possible."John tapped his badge as he reached Deck 36: =^= I’ll do my best Sir, we’re thin on engineers but we won’t give up until its done. I’ve got a remodulation program for the shields with is narrowed to within a few hundreths of the enemy’s weaponary frequency it should at least give us time to fight back this time. Good Luck up there.” =^= John ended the comm. as he entered Engineering, Cadet Cooper was a step ahead of him ordering Engineering Officers and civilians drafted in to help to their stations. John smiled as he arrived, “Looks like we are in for a fire fight with this so-called ghost again… the Captain wants more power to shields Cooper. We need to raise the percentage, they are only 80% but I have an idea but I’m going to need your help!” (Cooper)John explained his plans in as much detail as time afforded him and reached the Master Systems Monitor, this gave John access to all of the ships systems. John immediately tapped the ship’s shields and interfaced his personal padd with the console. Cooper nodded in agreement as he concurred with John’s plan. John tapped his PADD to install his basic shield remodulation module into the ship’s shields. The monitor detailed the frequencies which John had narrowed the weapon down to, John smiled – their mystery foe was going to find it tougher this time round. “Cooper whats our shield strength at…?” John barked “85% Sir, I don’t think we can get it much higher without risking damage to the generators.” Cooper called back from a workstation. “It’ll have to do, I don’t want to risk anymore generators. We only have 4 more back-up generators. If we lose anymore we are stuffed.” He answered John tugged at his gold uniform as he opened a comm. to the bridge. =^=Engineering to Bridge, Captain the shields are at 85% - that’s the best we can get outta them. However, I have the shields running a remodulating program which should make our shield’s more resistant to the ghost ship’s weapons.=^= (Tag Bridge)John looked around Engineering, this was his first mission as an Instructor and things were seemingly going from bad to worse. John just hoped his program would make the Hepta more resistant to their foe. (OOC: Mati, I am going to pick your tag up soon... just after we are attacked. )

An read off the status report on the Vulcan console, “enemy shield status is at full, but the Hepta is holding at 85%; the Hepta’s shield are constantly remodulating. The Dutchman seems to be at a constant remodulation.”
Cadet An tried to figure out how to break through the Dutchman’s jamming to co-ordinate attacks with the Hepta, while trying to maintain Hope’s boost she gave to the shields. He accidentally blurted out the first thing that came to mind, but then elaborated on it. “Morse Code. Why not Morse Code?” he asked, “we could shut down our ship’s power, lights and all. The Dutchman may assume we’re damaged, but the Hepta is looking for us to communicate with them.”
“When aboard the Hepta,” An continued, “I detected chroniton particles all over the cluster. Interphase generators produce chroniton particles. The Dutchman may be phase-cloaking with an interphase generator. If we perform an anyon sweep of the cluster, and hit the Dutchman with the beam, we could return the Dutchman to normal space. The anyon particles neutralize the effects of the generator. All we need is an anyon emitter.”
An waited for Hope to respond before he continued again, “As for ways to block their transporter, maybe we can use kelbonite to stop the Dutchman from getting a lock on us. The kelbonite scatters the annular confinement beam and jams their sensors. Or possibly Thoron radiation. The radiation would interfere with the Dutchman’s sensors and transporter systems.”
Suddenly, An remembered the new Federation mission scoutships, “If this ship has any portable transport inhibitors onboard, they would weaken the confinement beam and decrease the Dutchman’s ability to beam us out. Almost like using kelbonite, the inhibitor produces a scattering field that would stop the transmission of the annular confinement beam, instead of just scattering it. The transporter abilities of the Dutchman would be wiped out.”
