Life aboard the Hepta

"Oh, both sound so intersting" she said in a friendly, yet sarcastic voice, smiling at the same time.

"Im easy, I'll read any, gives me somethin' to do, and brings me up to date with some of the procedures, after all, ops and enginering are closely linked" she said as she looked aback at Major Löhnen, with a slight cheeky grin on her face.

They carried on walking, mostly all you could hear was the chatter of the other crew members, and the frinendly bantter of those within the group of Sandy, Cooper, Löhnen and McFarland, different conversations going on between the cadets, and the seperate conversation going on between instructors.

After an encounter with the First Officer Kerine felt the eyes on her knowing that someone was watching her and discovered it was the Security officer. ::Klingon... I despise them for what they did! He better steer clear of me.:: The woman thought.

Refocusing on the task at hand and all the rest around her she found it easy to ignore the Klingon realizing she didn't have to be on the bridge just then either noticing the others leaving, and she opened her eyes and left the bridge knowing she still had to unpack her belongings.

[Location: USS Hepta, Personnel Quarters, 0120]

Kerine carefully unzipped her duffle and took out each object placing it carefully on the bed not wanting anything to touch any more knowing it had been difficult having them touching this whole time. ::Its okay now they are no longer going to be touching and everything will be in its rightful place.::

Taking care to move one object off the bed at a time unwrap it and inspecting it she unpacked slowly desiring the perfect harmonious environment.

Danny had never met MacFarland before, but he liked him already. He would be a pleasure to work with.

The doors to Engineering slid open and Danny turned around when he heard someone approaching. It was a Cadet, wearing an Engineering uniform.

“Hello sir my name is cadet Cooper I noticed you are the Operations officer I look forward to working with you”

Danny nodded affirmatively. I'm Major Löhnen, and indeed I'm in charge of Operations. You must be one of Commander MacFarland's bunch. Pleased to meet you Cadet."

<Ten Forward>

The Cadets seemed to get along fine. Danny was pleased to see his cadet's enthusiasm and competence, but he also liked her slightly defiant attitude towards the world in general. He would get to know her better on this trip, but his first impression was favourable. Danny ordered rounds for everybody and sat back, enjoying the company.

Look coming from the petty officer's face was all he needed to see. Every alarm in his head was going off. Telling him to be careful aroudn her something wasn't right, but there was nothing he could do about it. She hadn't done anything wrong nothing but still Petty Liwellyn just put him on guard. He looked down back at he screens and brought up her service record he was the security chief and had access to every service record. As he started to read the alarms in his head had gotten worse.

It wasn't that her service record had anything bad in it, there just wasn't anything all nothing bad nothing good. Just that she did her job this worried him a little it was like she didn't want to be noticed so she did only what was needed not to get noticed. He would have to keep a eye on her, and from a distance. She hadn't done anything wrong so he couldn't justfy staying close.

Looking back down he logged out and decided to get a drink, to warm him self up. After look he just got from the petty officer he felt chilled. Heading to ten forward he arrived to see some of the other cadets and instructors having a drink. Not wanting to bug them he went to the bar and ordered some blood whine. <Tag anybody>

“Light reading…. Emergency procedures for warp core breach you an I differ on the meaning of light reading sir” Bemoaned Cadet Cooper

John smiled, the part of the job every engineer loathed, no-one enjoyed reading emergency procedure. However, they may save the ship and the crew’s life one day and did have their place.
“You don’t need to read them now Cadet, just make sure you are familiar with them!” John chuckled…

As they made their way out of Main Engineering, the two Cadets walked behind the Instructors both having separate conversations. The Cadets were discussing their respective roles, why they had joined StarFleet and John even thought he heard Cadet Black offering to assist Cooper with his light reading. John raised an eyebrow, the Cadets seemed to be getting on very well.

As John and Danny walked, John decided to ask the Marine Major why he had become an Operations Officer. He had to admit he thought it was an odd choice,
“So Major I was wondering why did you decide to become an Ops Instructor, I would have thought being a marine – you would prefer to be a marine instructor or a security instructor?”

“Hold that thought, we’re here.” Major Löhnen stopped and pointed to the double doors that led to the bar.

As they entered Danny bought everyone a round, John decided just to have a glass of fresh orange juice. They all sat down at a table in the corner, John and Danny sat next to one another as did the Cadets. John turned to Danny:

“You were saying?”

As John asked Danny to continue with his answer, John noticed Commander K'ratak enter the bar. John waved his arm to usher K'ratak over but he didnt seem to notice him at first. John decided to be slightly wyly in his actions and tapped his comm badge;

K'ratak turned round and smiled, John hoped he hadn't disturbed him and that the klingon was in the mood for company and not wanting to be left alone. It was too late now he had already disturbed him...

Cooper sat at ten forward with the two officers and his fellow cadet the officers were having a conversation so Cooper decided to ask Cadet Black some questions.
Cooper looked at her and asked.

“So why did you join Starfleet”?

Cooper listened as she told him why she joined Starfleet, Cooper than handed her one of his PADDs and said with a smile.

“Thought I forgot your offer didn’t ya”

Cooper then saw a klingon officer enter ten forward and head to the bar Cooper was wondering if he would join them.
Just as Cooper was about to go over and introduce himself Commander McFarland used his comm. badge to invite the officer over.

Simon looked at the time on the clock on the far side of the room to him, and then looked at the cadet. “Have you completed the roster?” Simon queried Harry who quickly produced the Padd for him to look at, “Computer freeze timer” =/\=Acknowledged=/\= Simon looked in more detail the roster Harry had made then checked what he had sent for to remedy the inventory problem. “Well cadet I see no problems here, you have done very well and I see you did it in 42 minutes which is an excellent time, I can see why Starfleet academy placed you here for your training mission.” Simon smiled at the cadet ‘well that is a new record, even I didn’t finish this in an hour when I was a cadet’. “Well I see no more reason to hold you up, I would suggest that you get some rest and make sure you know where your quarters are in relation to the bridge and sickbay as you never know where you might be needed in a hurry”.

Simon watched as the cadet left, the he himself left after shutting down the holodeck. Simon made his way to his office as he knew exactly what he had waiting for him when he arrived. Simon walked into Sickbay to find himself correct, a pile of Padds that covered his desk and then some ‘looks like Joan did none of the paper work while she was here’ and he was sure a few more had been added. Sitting down he started to go though them hoping he would be able to clear most of them before they left space dock.

Hearing Commander McFarlands invite over his combadge he grabed his blood wine and Walked over. Looking around the Table there were some faces he didn't know not wanting to be rude.

" I'am Commander K'ratak house of Mortok on loan from the klingon Emipre. I love to drink, eat, fight and most importantly laugh" Looking around the table he noticed some shocked looks.

" Well I dont think we will be shooting at any rocks today will we Cadet Cooper." <Tag Cooper>

Looking over at Commander McFarland " I also dont think the captain is going to be willing to share his seat this mission as well as our first officer either." Laughing a little he knew McFarland would understand the joke.

" I dont beleave I have had the honor of meeting the rest of you"<Tag All>

Cadet Cooper was sitting in ten forward with the two officers and Cadet Black, He and Black were reading the PADDs and discussing emergency procedures of engineering when Commander K’ratak who had been invited over by Commander McFarland introduced himself.

“I’ am Commander K'ratak house of Mortok on loan from the klingon Emipre. I love to drink, eat, fight and most importantly laugh" Looking around the table he noticed some shocked looks.

Cooper smiled Klingons sure knew how to make an impression on someone.

Commander K’ratak then looked directly at Cooper and said.

" Well I dont think we will be shooting at any rocks today will we Cadet Cooper."

Cooper chuckled and replied.

“I hope not don’t think I want to go through that stress again”

After Commander K’ratak finished introducing himself Cooper got up and bid everyone goodbye.

“Well I should get some sleep before the mission starts goodbye sirs”.

Cooper then looked at Cadet Black and said.

“Thanks for your help if you ever need any help my door is always open”

Cooper then left ten forward and made his way to his quarters.
