Illito glanced around the promenade. “Do you really think that someone will try to talk with us if we just stand here?” Illito asked, glancing at Joan. “I think we have to do something a little more interesting.”
“Like what?” asked Joan.
“Oh, I don’t know. I’m sure you can think of something interesting.” Illito suggested, trying to take the pressure off of her. It didn’t seem like Joan was about to let her do that. Illito sighed. “Well, I wouldn’t know how to attract attention. After all, I just blend into the background.” Joan looked at Illito strangely, a Starfleet Cardassian wasn’t exactly a common sight.
“Even if I do naturally attract attention, I don’t know how to attract anymore than I usually do. And the sort of attention that I usually attract is more the kind that makes Cadets turn and flee, not the kind that makes them stop and attempt to open a conversation.” Illito shrugged, hoping that Joan would come up with an idea, because Illito had no clue what to do now.

Realizing exactly what she must do, she moves over a little to give herself room, as she hasn't done this in a little while. She quickly masters the hand stand again, hoping to get some attention.

Illito glanced at Joan, that hadn’t quite what she had had in mind. Illito had been thinking of something a little more...subtle. Although she supposed that it did the trick.
“Do you know what would be even more surprising?” Illito asked Joan. “If we both did handstands.”
Joan looked at Illito, a little surprised. “You have to admit,” Illito said, “It would be a little confusing to see an instructor and a Cardassian doing handstands in the middle of the promenade.” Illito shrugged. “Unfortunately I can’t do handstands.” Illito thought she could probably figure it out, but she didn’t really want to. Although it had been worth it just to see the look on Joan’s face. It wasn’t often that she managed to truly surprise the other woman.

"What in God's name are you doing?" Matt asked Joan. He never thought he would see a cadet do a handstand in front of everyone. Mart then saw her rank and quickly understood. "Trying to get some attention huh."
"How did you know?" Joan asked.
"Oh its a hunch," Matt laughed, "by the way I'm Cadet Matthew Reynolds, but i go by Matt and who are you two?"

"Sorry, Illito, I don't think I can teach it. Hello there, Matt. I am Joan McCormick. Joan will be fine for here and now. " Says after she stands up out of handstand.
"Where are you from, Matt?" She says hoping to learn a little more about him. She sees a few people she recognizes from the mission enter, and then realizes this is going to be too much fun. She chuckles and points them out subtly to Illito.
"Hey, Matt, Tony over there is a friend of ours. Go over there and say hello. He won't mind, and you can call him Tony." She says.

“Hey, Matt, Tony over there is a friend of ours. Go over there and say hello. He won't mind, and you can call him Tony.” Joan said.
As Matt went towards Captain Marcell, Illito turned to look at Joan. “I’m not sure that is a very good idea,” Illito objected. Joan shushed her, trying to watch to see whether or not her plan would work.
When Matt walked close enough to see the rank of “Tony” he stopped, uncertain as to whether he should go on or not. Good for him, Illito thought. He turned back to look at Joan and Illito, and Illito gave him an encouraging smile, she didn’t think that he should go on. Unfortunately, at least for him, he seemed to think that she meant to encourage him to continue, as he resumed his walk toward the Captain.

From a distance, S'reena spotted Joan McCormick standing on her hands in the middle of the promenade. It looked funny to say the least. S'reena had been very surprised that Admiral McCormick had adopted the young woman, but she'd also been pleased. Joan was a talented girl whose talents should not be wasted, and she seemed happy in Starfleet.
She also didn't miss Illito's nod towards a young man who seemingly was unsure as to what to do now that he had approached Tony Marcell. She smiled to herself, guessing what was going on. She walked up to Joan and Illito and leaned against the wall, gesturing towards the young man and Tony Marcell. "You didn't, did you?" she asked innocently.

Unfortunately, at least for him, he seemed to think that she meant to encourage him to continue, as he resumed his walk toward the Captain. Matt knew what they were trying to do to him, but it wouldn't work. Matt had met Captain Tony Marcell when his parents brought him to a conference on Earth a couple of years ago. "Hey Tony," Matt said a little louder than usual so Joan and Illito could here them. It took Tony a couple of seconds to remember who this unsubornite cadet was and then it hit him. "Oh my God, Matt is that you?" Tony said smiling at him. "Yes, sir," Matt said. "You have some guts you know," Tony said. Then Matt just tuned around and looked over at Joan and Illito who were now joined by some person Matt had not seen. Tony then understood what they had tried to do, but to Matt's greatest pleasure, Joan and Illito's jaws were hanging unable to close and all the other person could do was burst out laughing. Off: That was mean , but haha how did you like that.

Travor walked out of his quarters and onto the prominade, where he saw Matt talking to a captain. He walked up and said, "Hey, Matt. Hello, sir. What are you up to Matt? I was on my way to one of the holodecks, would you like to join me?"
Matt glanced back at the two cadets and the Conmodore standing by the wall.
Travor looked in that direction and said, "If you want they can come too."

commodore? what commodore?
S'reena Hope is a commander first class;), and a Romulan female at that.
ic:
S'reena laughed hard at Matt's smirk back at the two recently graduated officers. "He's got you both," she managed as she wiped a tear from her eye, then she flashed a grin at Tony Marcell, who grinned right back at her.
She laughed again; it was good to see him laugh again, especially after the most recent events. Trust had to be re-established, but loyalty would not and even though she would take great care at checking any order he'd give, she'd remain loyal to him. He was her CO, and he had earned it on previous missions. She was not one to blame someone on a mishap, when she herself had so many on her name.
"A holodeck?" she enquired, "what kind of program?" Her interest was peaqued, she hadn't been on a holodeck for some time now.

“You didn’t, did you?” S’reena asked, gesturing towards Captain Marcell and Matt.
“I did not,” Illito assured her. Joan grinned mischievously at S’reena.
“Hey Tony,” Matt said, loud enough so that Illito could hear him. Illito grimaced. She doubted that this was going to be particularly pleasant. But then again, she didn’t really know Captain Marcell very well.
“Oh my God, Matt is that you?” Tony asked. Illito nodded in approval, seeing that Matt didn‘t just randomly go up to high-ranking officers and address them by their first name. Matt obviously wasn’t insane, although at the moment Illito wasn’t entirely sure about Joan. After all, she had just done a handstand in the middle of the promenade, then tried to terrorize a poor Cadet.
Matt turned back to smirk at Illito and Joan. Illito frowned a little. Maybe he wasn’t such a “poor Cadet” after all.
“A holodeck?” S’reena enquired, “what kind of program?” Although Joan seemed similarly interested, Illito shrugged uncertainly. She wasn’t sure how much she really wanted to go to the holodeck right now, although she supposed that it did depend on what type of program it was. However, Illito wasn’t sure what type of program she wanted, so she hoped nobody would ask her.

"Well, I was thinking that I would start up a camping program and do some fishing. Would any of you like to join me?"Travor asked.

“I don’t think I will,” Illito apologized. “I don’t really like fishing.” Illito sighed Growing up, water had been very scarce, and it didn’t seemed like floating a wooden boat on it would be a waste of water. Even if the water was only holographic. She didn’t think that fishing was the kind of holoprogram that she would particularity enjoy.
Illito stayed nearby while others decided what to do, figuring that she could talk to anyone else who decided not to go.

Realizing she had been had, she was surprised, and a little upset that her plan didn't work. She hears the plan of going to the holodeck.
"You guys go ahead. I think I will wander around the starbase right now, seeing if there are any other cadets around. Hopefully they aren't all as fast to pick up on things as Matt was. Very clever, I might add. What do you say, Illito? Stroll with me?" She says looking over at the woman.

“Sure,” Illito agreed. As soon as the two were out of hearing range of the others, Joan turned to grin at Illito.
“I wonder what other trouble we can make?” Joan asked Illito.
Illito glanced at Joan, a little surprised. “After what happened last time? That didn’t exactly turn out the way you had planned,” Illito objected.
Joan’s smile broadened. “That’s most of the fun.” Illito shrugged non-enthusiastically. “Come on,” urged Joan. Illito followed, some of Joan's enthusiasm slowly infecting her.

She smiled and noticed Illito was exactly ready for more mischief.
"Alright then, we don't have to create trouble. I know this wonderful little bakery. You up for that?" She says hoping it is a yes, as she would like to sink her teeth into another eclair.
She smiles wondering if Illito had yet visited Tanta Maria's yet, and hopes it is someplace she wants to visit. If not she would have to think of another spot.

“Sure, a bakery. That sounds great,” Illito agreed. “You can lead, I’m not sure where we are going, so I’ll just follow.”
Illito watched as Joan walked, a little slowly for Illito’s taste, towards Deck 24. They entered a bakery with a sign labeling it as Tante Maria’s. Illito was pleasantly surprised, the air was a little warmer than station norms. “It’s a nice temperature,” she remarked.

"The people are nice too. I remember first being here. It was before our mission, and my new friend at the time was nice enough to bring me here. Then again I think she was jonesing for an ecalir. Think I will try something different." She says as they both sit down. An older lady comes quicker than last time.
"Hello, Joan. I was hoping you would return. I see you have a friend with you. Welcome to Tante Maria's. What can I bring you ladies?" She says looking back and forth.
"I will have a warm bear claw and apple cider, and on the side an eclair." She says hoping it isn't too much. The woman smiles.
"Something new with something old. Good idea, Joan. Now, what would you like?" She says turning to Illito.

"The eclairs are very good," Joan suggested to Illito, seeing that Illito didn't seem to have nay idea what to order.
"Then I'll have an eclair," Illito decided.
"Do you want anything to drink?" asked the woman.
"No...Thank you," replied Illito.

S'reena, however, liked the idea of going camping. Yet, like Illito she wasn't too thrilled about fishing as fishing meant going near water and she wasn't prepared to do that just yet. "Too bad Michael will be away for a few days," S'reena pondered aloud, "but I have no doubt my two girls will like the idea."
She grinned at the cadet. "I'm in," she said, "but I'll not go into a wobbly boat, or even remotely near water. Just let me know when and which holodeck, and then we'll see where we'll go hm?"
S'reena watched the two newly graduated officers leave and shook her head, laughing. Then she waved marcell over. "You're coming too right?" she urged, "you need the time off, and this seems just like what the doctor ordered."
When Marcell was about to answer, she gave him a mock glare. "I won't take no for an answer captain," she said. To the cadets, she might've seemed a little angry, but she knew that Marcell knew her better than that. "Your orders are to rest, so you're coming camping. That's non-negotiable."

"I have never been camping, so I don't really know what to do," Matt said. "What you haven't been through adventure training?" Captain Marcell asked. Matt blushed and said, "No sir, this is my third day here and the only poeple I know and trust is Travor here, and you of course," Matt smiled at the Captain. "Okay we're going camping," Travor said. "What time," Commander S'reena asked. "How about 1800 hrs, after classes are over and we can stay the night since there are no classes tomorrow for both of us, right Matt." Travor said. "Yeah I don't have a class, so okay I'll be there," Matt said. The other two offiers also agreed that later that day they would all go camping. Off: Joan and Illito, how many time a day do you post,

OOC: Matt, I happen to post a good, I'm guessing here so correct me if I'm wrong, twenty times. Sometimes more though depending on how long I have to wait on people.
IC: It doesn't take long before their order is brought to them, and Joan waits watching Illito to see her reaction to the eclair. After that it didn't take long before her own eclair was gone.
"So, what do you want to talk about?" She says not sure of what to say exactly taking a drink of her hot apple cider.

IC: "The eclair is fairly good," Illito remarked, although she thought it was a little sweet.
"How about we talk about...food?" Illito suggested, glancing at the eclair. "What's your favoirite food?"

She chuckles hearing the topic, and wonders what brought this on. She had to think for a minute. Do I have a favorite food? Joan thought wondering.
"I don't have one. Growing up, it was what kept us alive. We didn't get too much variety, so I don't really know what other food is like. This is good, and much better than I used to get. Do you have a favorite food?" She says first looking a little sheepish, and then smiling again as she wonders what could Illito possibly say.
