“Well, I’ve never reached that age before either,” Kedzie said, smiling. “But I suppose that if you didn’t like your work, you could change jobs. I certainly don’t see any point in doing a job you really don’t enjoy, but I tend to take a different perspective on things than other people. I’m far less work oriented, but I guess it’s just about time for me do some actual work. Being on a Starship should certainly give me that opportunity,” she said smiling. “Even if I’m not a member of the staff, I would probably feel motivated enough to help out if we were in a life-threatening situation.”

"I saw you working on hanson and heard good things too... you just the kind of person i would rely on in an emergancy , and would be honourd to work with you"
she seemed to blush slightly.
"Do you think you will ever settle down and marry?"

"Do you think you will ever settle down and marry?"
Kedzie glanced at Damion, wondering just how they had ended up with this subject of conversation. “Settle down??!” she asked incredulously. “Never! Marry? Maybe.” Kedzie paused a little longer. “What about you?” she asked hesitantly.

"I wanna be on a starship and i dont think that will ever change , how can you stay in one place knowing there is still so much to see??" His smile broke to a stern neutral expression.
"I dont know about marriage , i dont like being alone but as i said before..not sure how well it really fits into starfleet life"

“I’m sure that if both of you cared enough you could make it work,” Kedzie said. “The relationship would probably suffer if either of you were trying to save the ship from complete and total destruction, but it would probably survive, as long as you did.” Kedzie knew that she wasn’t taking things very seriously, after all, life-threatening circumstances were hardly a laughing matter, but she didn’t know how else to react to it. After all, it was merely a hypothetical situation, no one’s real feeling were involved.

Damion laughed at what Kedzie had said and decided that he was trying to be too seriouse.
"I wonder if they make us wait so long for new assignment just so we can rest" He Grinned
"So when do i get to hear you play? do you sing too?"

“I don’t know when you’ll hear me play, you’ll have to be listening,” Kedzie joked. “I do sing sometimes, depending on what instrument I’m playing. It’s rather hard to play the flute and sing, gets sort of distracting,” Kedzie said. “But for some reason even on the bellaclavion I can’t get my singing and my playing to work quite right together. Most of my songs either end up sounding like a ballad, or they’re very old and I didn’t write them myself.” Kedzie shrugged.

"Do you know any Terran music?"
He sipped his hot fresh chocolate drink.
"I often found that Terran music has the most range , it represents humans perfectly"
"Its odd that because of there instable history and inability for so long to unify has given them such a diverse and interesting culture , i think that gos a long way to make them who they are today"

“Sure, Terran music would represent humans rather well, as it’s their music,” Kedzie said. “I know a few of the songs, mainly children’s ones, since that’s what it was easiest for people to remember, it can help them feel connected to the music, especially if I’m playing a whole bunch of Bajoran stuff that they’ve never heard before. And as for their diverse cultures, I don’t know stuff from much of those cultures. Some American, English, French…” Kedzie trailed off. “That’s about it.”

As cadet Michael walked into the bakery he over heard Damion talking about shuttle racing, this was Michaels Favourite pastime. "Excuse me is this seat taken" Michael said to Damion as he was eager to join in with the conversation.

" That sounds pretty cool, so what eles do you do for fun , apart from playing music?"
"I play darts, read, take care of the operations system on Starships, listen to talking animals, pretty much everything that I do I can have fun with,"
"Do you like shuttle racing? i try to take part when ever i can , warp speed to travel is cool but there is no beating sub light high speed piloting , you really get to be in control of the ship and feel every turn"
"I never done it, so I don’t know I would know how to. And I’m not completely sure that I see the point. After all if what you want to do is travel, there are faster ways to do it, but if you was to compete against someone else, I would think that the results depend too much on the shuttle, since all shuttles don’t work the same. And it seems unnecessarily dangerous." Kedzie waited for Damion to explain it, when a new cadet walked up.
"So what Terran songs do you know?" Damion asked, but as Kedzie was about to respond a new cadet came by and asked if one of the empty seats was taken.
"Feel free to sit there," Kedzie answered. "I’m Shikako Kedzie, but I prefer to be called Kedzie. Bajoran custom," she explained, then waited for Damion to introduce himself. "We both were on the training mission on the Hanson, which is the ship that I think you will probably be on."

“We’re actually not going to be on the Hanson anymore. We were cadets last time, now we’ve graduated and are just waiting to get our assignments, and, for some of us, ranks, before we’ll be on our way.” Mike seemed a little confused about the limitation on the ranks, so Kedzie explained.
“I’m not Starfleet, I’m a civilian. I was on the Hanson, because I just happened to come out to the starbase and join the ship so I could save everyone’s life.” Damion glanced at Kedzie. “Okay, I didn’t actually save everyone’s life, or, I don’t think, anyone’s, in fact I just basically purged computer systems, it was rather dull. I worked and trained with operations,” she explained.

After Shikako Kedzie explaned everything Mike realised the mistake he made and quickly tried to change the subject as he felt abit embarrassed.
"So did you enjoy your training on the Hanson" he said.

“It was…interesting. I wouldn’t say that it was particularly enjoyable though, especially when we had a murderer on the ship. Of course, I wouldn’t say that things got terribly much better from there.” Kedzie glanced at Damion, but decided that if he wanted to say more he could. She then paused, she didn’t want to make the cadet rethink his desire to join Starfleet, but if he was really prepared than he should probably already know that not all Starfleet missions were smooth and went well. One thing that the training missions did well was put the cadets on real missions so that they would have to deal with real issues, rather than just trying to make them do routine border patrols on borders where nothing happened. “But the instructors are often very helpful,” Kedzie said.

"Im Damion Jhukat" Damion said with a smile wlecoming the new cadet.
Kedzie explained the mission on the hanson to the new cadet but he seemed a little concerned so damion tried to change the subject.
" so we were just talking about shuttle racing , have you ever tried it?" <Mika>
Damion thought he saw kedzies eyes roll but let his question stand.
<kedzie>
"So what else do you like to do Mike?"

Kedzie could see that the two were going to talk about shuttle racing, so her eyes rolled, which Damion seemed to have noticed, but chosen to ignore, which did not sit kindly with her. A little frustrated, she finished her second hot chocolate and glanced at her empty plate. She didn’t see any reason to leave just because the conversation had gotten boring, so she would remain for a while, as long as the conversation didn’t stay boring.
"So what else do you like to do Mike?" Damion asked. Oh good, Kedzie thought in relief. Maybe he’ll like some of the same stuff that I like, so we can find something that we both can talk about. As Kedzie thought further about it, it began to seem less likely. After all, what kind of stuff did she like? Music? Darts? Being in dangerous situations? Taking long journeys? Kedzie decided just to wait and see what Mike would say before jumping in, or leaving, although she didn’t think that she would resort to that.

Joan enters the little bakery hoping to find a certain someone here, but is disappointed. She sees Kedzie rolling her eyes and decides it might be fun to join that little group remembering the last time she was here. She walks over smiling.
"Hiya gang. I hope I'm not interrupting anything important. Please don't get up. Congrats on your new rank. Where are you two going?" She says not realizing she doesn't know the third member of this group, and then it dawns on her he is new. "Hi there, I am Lt. Commander Joan McCormick. I am the science instructor aboard the Hanson. Kedzie was one of my cadets, but don't let that turn you away from Star Fleet." She says playfully.

“I’m going…somewhere,” Kedzie said. “I’m sure that I’ll know before I get on a shuttle. Maybe not much more, but I’ll be okay.
“And what does me being one of your cadets have to turning him away from Starfleet,” Kedzie asked, a similar lightness was in her tone as had been in Joan’s. “I would think that I would cause more people to join Starfleet, after all, they don’t want to be like me, do they? And I wasn’t your cadet the whole time…I saw Leena far more, even though she does have a way of communicating with you telepathically, it wasn’t quite the same,” Kedzie finished.

When Joan walked over too them Damion was about to get up but she said not too...
"Hello lieutenant , how are you?"
Joan made some kind of joke about Kedzie being a cadet under her but kedzie to it lightly.
"This is Micheal Hannidies , hes hoping to join the next Hanson mission"
<Joan , mike>
"Would you care to join us lieutenant"
<Joan>
"So does anyone else play Social games?"
"Like chess , Cal -to , Trimba or Darts?" Damion asked hoping to engage in a more interesting conversation.

"Social games?" S'reena asked, approaching the little group of people, "Kal-toh and chess are not really social games are they? I would more think along the lines of parishes squares, soccer or volley ball."
She gazed at the vacant chair. "Mind if I join you people?"
Then she noticed Hannides. "Ah Mr Hannides," she said, "I see you found a few of our freshly graduated officers. Ah now don't look so surprised, I had your personnel file across my desk only a few minutes ago." She said down in the chair and ordered a Vulcan tea from the waitress, along with shortcakes.
"Oh how terribly rude of me, I'm Commander S'reena Hope, the Hanson's first officer." She held out her hand to the obviously startled cadet. "What will you be training in?"

Joan smiles at Kedzie's comments wondering if she should continue this light banter with the other woman. It was clear that Kedzie understood Joan was only playing. She too had offered comments in a playful tone. She thinks about the few games she knows as well, realizing she doesn't really play games.
"Sorry, damion, I haven't ever really played any games. Those require opponents, and I never had anyone willing to play with me. Hello, commander." She says first to damion, and then changes the direction as soon as she hears the commanders comments. "I suppose you could join us, and for rude isn't that your usual?" She says also playing with the commander, wondering what kind of mood she is in.
"Well I suppose you did see more of Leena, but what does that make me? Chopped liver?" She says trying to sound hurt this time.

“Chopped liver?” Joan asked.
“I didn’t mean that,” Kedzie replied, wrinkling her nose. She didn’t like the thought of comparing the person who had taught her to chopped liver. What did that say about what she had learned? “You having Leena as a pet, it’s a good way to surprise new cadets,” Kedzie said, glancing at Mike. “And I would think that that would be a good thing,” Kedzie said genuinely, then watched Mike to see if he responded.
She then glanced at Commander Hope. “Greeting, Commander. Please, do join us, we don’t mind.” Kedzie glanced at Joan. “Or, at least, I don’t mind, I won’t presume to speak for anyone else.”

When S'Reena arrived Damion shot up to his feet and offered her a chair , doting on her in a childish fashion as if she were his mother.
He felt instantly embarresed as it was a strong diffrence to when Joan had arrived and just knew someone would say something but he wasnt sure who...
"Does anybody want a drink? or cake?" He said trying to chip in before anyone made comment.
<Anyone whos thirsty>
When Damion returned he got the feeling they had all went silent very suddenly and didnt like it , but he served the drinks without comment.
"So where is the Hanson headed next?" He said sitting down next to kedzie.
