Jason looked over at Joan, and looks down a bit. He noticed that she had not spoken to him since he joined them, but then he hadn't said anything to her himself. He remembered the time he and Joan had spent together, and thought she must have felt betrayed when she saw he and Jordan together, especially given that Jason was wearing a shirt at the time.
He looked up at her. "Joan, may I speak to you for a minute," he said, rising.
She looked at him for a moment or two, undecided. But apparently she consented, and stood as well.
He led her over to the back corner of the Bakery.
"Joan, I wanted to apologize for my actions during this mission. I know what we shared on the holodeck was special, and you must have been furius when you saw Jordan and I together like that. Can you forgive me?"

OOC: This is a joint post between Jason Black and myself.
IC: "Forgive you, I would rather not talk about this right now." She says first questioning then anger starts to rise in her voice as she starts to walk away.
"Joan! Hold on," he said, touching her arm, hoping it will dissuade her from leaving. She looks up at him glaringly. This was her first boyfriend, and now she has been betrayed. She wants to kill him, and decides against it as the setting is wrong.
"I feel awful for what I did. Not only for allowing myself to be seduced by a fellow officer, but also as a result betraying your trust. I'm not sure what this will do to what we have or have had, but I hope it won't destroy it," he said, not entirely suceeding from keeping the pleading out of his voice, or his eyes. She wonders what had happened, and if she had done anything to drive him to this. She notices his look and hears it in his voice, noting how sorry he seems to feel.
"I just don't understand. What did I do to drive you away to another woman? Why would you cheat on me?" She says very confused. "We didn't even do what I caught you doing with her!" She says more enraged than anything, as her voice raises, and others begin looking their way.
"I know, I know," he said, looking down at his boots, trying to keep his voice down to avoid outside attention. "It wasn't you at all, it was her. There has always been a certain bond between myself and Jordan, because she had trained me. And, though it's probably not the best idea for me to admit this right now, I have always thought of her to be rather attractive, though I didn't do anything at the time I was actually thinking about it because she was my Instructor. And that day, when she called me to the holodeck, it appears she turned on the charm, and I fell right into her trap. I'm not proud of it, I readily admit that," he said, and met her gaze for a moment, but then returned his eyes back down.
"How do I know I can trust you then? How do I know this won't ever happen again?" She says still very upset, but remembers to keep her voice down as she crosses her arms over her chest.
"Well, I'm not sure you can. But, I would ask you to give me another chance. Please?" he asked, looking up into her eyes, touching her arm again. She pulls away from him, and decides this conversation is over. She moves away heading back to the group. Jason, ignoring the fact that they were in public, and he would be doing this in front of at least half a dozen colleagues, pulls her back toward him, and into a kiss. She fights it at first, and then finds it very nice, finally kissing him back. She finds she likes fighting, but only because of the making up at the end of it.
He is happy she didnt reject him, and starts to put his hands on the small of her back. After a moment, he pulls back. "Should we go elsewhere to do this?" She is dazed after he pulls back, but only for a minute realizing what he is asking.
"No, it's okay. We will have plenty of time for this later. Right now we have just really rocked several people's world." She says chuckling and remembering where she is. "I say we go back and see what else we can do to cause some michief." She continues smiling with that look of trouble in her eye. He smiles, and nods. Taking her hand, he leads her back over to her chair. Picking his own up on the way, he places his chair next to hers, and pulls her chair out for her, gentleman-like. "For you, my lady." Smiling she sits down and thanks him as well.
"Cadets, where are you all from?" She says remembering her humble beginnings, and wonders if any of them are coming from the same.
Jason sits next to her, and once more takes her hand in his. "Yes, indeed, where are you from? I myself am from the desert regions of Earth, in an area of the planet known as Arizona."

Kedzie smiled at Damion when he suggested going to the Black Tulip for a while. “I’m not sure that will be possible,” she replied. “Although I don’t know,” she continued. After only a little bit longer the other graduates received their official assignments, and left to find shuttles to take them to their new ships. Kedzie hadn’t yet received her assignment, but she didn’t feel like hanging around with the cadets and instructors, so she quietly said goodbye and returned to her quarters.

For a half Vulcan T'Brel was extremely strange. His emotions were always up on the surface. Probably it was because of his mother, Laura. For a Trill his mother she was a strange woman, but T'Brel wouldn't change that for the world.
Now he was walking around Starbase Conqueror, he was giddy with excitment. What would my father say if I was giddy T'Brel thought. Then something caught his sense of smell. It was intoxicating. T'Brel walked till he found the source of the smell. It turned out to be a bakery.
T'Brel tentatvely walked into the bakery. It was filled with Starfleet officers and cadets.
"What would you like?" a young woman asked smiling. T'Brel searched the counter for what he wanted and then he saw it.
"I would like that," T'Brel said as he pointed to a sausage sandwhich.
"Aren't Vulcans vegitarians?" the young woman asked perplexed that a Vulcan would order meat.
"Yes, but I"m not all Vulcan," T'Brel said as he turned to his side so she could see his spots.
"Your Trill to, cool," she said smiling, " here you go." T'Brel sat at a table by himself enjoying his lunch, but found it hard to concentrate because of the group of people next to him. It seemed they were having a good time. One thing that T'Brel got from his father was his Vulcan hearing and he could tell that two of them were talking about there personal life and the others were talking about what they were going to do next.
T'Brel didnt' feel right easedropping on thier conversation, so he decided to introduce himself. T'Brel walked up to the group and introduced himself.
"Hello I"m T'Brel Peers and I was wondering if I could join you?" T'Brel asked.

Joan noticed the new comer, and smiled. "Hello, T'Brel, I'm Lt. Commander Joan McCormick. Please join us,as we could use new friends. I was just asking everyone new here where they were from. It feels like a couple decades since I first joined, but it wasn't that long ago. Please do trll me about yourself." She says eagerly.

Damion heard a communication notice for him so excused himself and left the bakery..
"Ill Be right back , ill just read this message"
He headed first toward the turbo lift to head back to his quarters , then changed his mind and just went into a communication lab on the same deck.
"Computer display message for Damion Jhukat from Star Base Bellicose that arrived today" [Authorization required] "Authorize jhukat sigma one"
The terminal beeped and the screen changed to show the message , he head it and closed the screen , then turned and headed back to the bakery to tell Kedzie and the others he had got the Black Tulip.
he walked in and scanned the group for kedzie but she had left. He told the people still there about his assignment and he was congratulated.
After about ten minutes he left the bakery and walked toward the turbo lifts , on the way he noticed kedzie on the promenade....

T'Brel gladly sat down with the group. He was glad that they were being helpful. T'Brel didn't have to give much thought to the Lt. Commander's question.
"Well I'm from Trill, but was raised in Vulcan. Last year I was joined with the Peers symbiont, after a couple of months of adjustment I decided to join Starfleet and well now I'm here," T'Brel said.
"Sorry I have to excuse myself," Damion said as he got up and left. The rest of the group just kept on talking, and everyone was shocked when T'Brel himself laughed and smiled.

"Wow, I don't believe I know much about those. I wasn't ever educated on the different races. Have fun, Damion, but try to stay out of trouble." She says first to the cadet, and then to the officer leaving. She wonders if that was a waste of breathe, and smiles sweetly.
"So what do you like to do?" She says looking around hoping a cadet will answer her, as she is trying to engage all the new ones.

S'reena gazed around at the fair band of cadets they'd gathered. By now, most of the graduees had left them to embark on the journey that would shape the rest of their careers: their first assignments as graduee. She also noticed that her fellow instructors kept coming back to asking the new arrivals what they liked to do.
"They're not children," S'reena grinned, "it's not as if we're to keep them occupied. I am fairly sure that they don't need to be entertained, correct?" She gazed daringly at the cadets, who just seemed to cower, or too shy to respond. "Aw now, come on," S'reena said, prodding the cadet nearest to her, "we don't bite!"
Just as she was about to continue to try to engage the cadets into saying something, the lights in the bakery went out. Around them, startled customers screamed and started to file out of the bakery in panic. "Calm down!" S'reena called out, jumping to her feet and knocking the chair over in the process. However, her voice was drowned out by the noise of panicking customers.
"This is just silly," S'reena muttered, as her eyes adjusted to the darkness. The vampire infection had left her with at least one positive aspect; her night sight had improved considerably. "S'reena to OPS."
OPS remained frighteningly quiet. Glancing around, S'reena found Black's arm. "Black get to engineering level, take T'Killacky with you and find out what's wrong. Joan, you take Hannides and get to the science labs. T'Brel, you are with me, we're going to OPS and see if we can find Commander TWO or Admiral McCormick."
Her gaze met Joan's in the darkness. "I know you're worried about your mother," she said softly, only for Joan to hear, "but science is your profession, command is mine. I will let you know as soon as I hear anything, I promise."
<responses anyone?....nice twist huh?>

Damion was heading towards the airlock for his transport to the Star Base Bellicose when the lights started to flicker , he heard people from the prominad screaming and ran in that direction , when he got there S'reena was organising the officers and cadets as well as she always did , she was definetly born to command.
"Commander , is there anything i can do to help?"
He wasnt sure he could help being a security officer , the situation didnt really call for it but he offered anyway , if she said no he would just head back to the air lock....
OOC: Are their any tactical / security cadets here? <S'Reena do you mind if i join in this before i board my ship ? if im in the way let me know and ill delete this post.>

T'pax had been walking along the promenade towards the bakery when the lights went out. He ran to the large group of officers and cadets outside, he had hoped to get to know a few of the other cadets but now there was obviously no time. he looked around in the darkness for any officers he could help.

"Welcome cadet, if you can see a place to sit, well then you are very lucky." Joan says not sure how long she should wait, and why the commander thought her mother would be first priority in this.
"Commander, I assure you, I am not worried about mom. She is an admiral, and that in itself tells me she has probably handled a lot of tough situations. What could have happened to make the lights go out? Is there anything I can do in the meantime, while waiting for the lights to come back on?" She says wondering what will come next.

S'reena sighed as she noticed two more cadets filing into the still in darkness covered bakery. Her eyes caught Joan's glance, as the science instructor jokingly told the cadet to join them if she could find a seat. "Lieutenant, as I said, take Hannides up to the science labs and see what you can figure out. Take T'Pax with you as well."
She glanced at Nokomis. "From your schedule I see that you'll be training in security. Grab a phaser from the nearest weapons cabinet and follow me and T'Brel. We're going to OPS to see if we can find a cause for this, apparently station wide, black-out. As we go, I want you to cover us, and keep an eye out for any danger we walk into. Hopefully, we will pick up more trained people along the way who can assist you."
<Nokomis>
She tapped Joan on the shoulder. "Keep communications open, I want a report as soon as you reach the science labs. Doctor Black, what's keeping you here? I thought I had sent you to engineering. See if you can find Bates along the way!"

S'reena sees the cadet going down in the semi-darkness that covered the corridors of the space station. Aiming her own phaser, she suddenly hesitates. What if she would hit the cadet, instead of her assaillant. Beside her, T'Brel also arms his phaser but seemingly has the same conflict of mind as she has.
Keeping her phaser ready, she observes that the cadet can take care of herself, and nods approvingly as the young woman works the body of her assaillant to the ground. "What are we facing cadet Nokomis?" she enquires, as she steps closer. The face of the attacker is obscured by the darkness, but the Romulan first officer was fairly sure that the security cadet had been able to figure that out.
"T'Brel, head forwards and keep an eye out for danger. Give us a shout if the way is clear. Nokomis, do you need assistance?"

"Doctor Black, what's keeping you here? I thought I had sent you to engineering. See if you can find Bates along the way!" she said, looking at him through the darkness.
"I'm sorry ma'am, it's just that I'm the Doctor, not the-" He stopped, noticing her glare through the dark. "Fine, I'm going. Killacky, let's go," he said, heading out of the Bakery, pulling Killacky with him
He didn't even know where the heck Starbase Engineering was! If she had said "go to Sickbay", he would have gone straight there. Killacky piped up behind him. "Doctor, what am I expected to do? I'm a Helm cadet, not Engineering."
Jason continued along. "I know that, Cadet. Also remember that I'm the Chief Medical Officer. I know nothing about Engineering. But the Commander ordered us to do this, so off we go."
On the way, they ran into Lieutenant Bates, who had a light shining from the flashlight on his arm. "Hello Doctor, no time to talk. They just called in Engineering staff from ships to help with this, so I'm headed to Engineering."
"I know, we're headed there, too; Commander Hope's orders. What do you think caused this?" Jason asked, walking alongside the man that in the dark, with his pale skin and dark hair looked somewhat like a ghost.
"Not sure. Power failure maybe, but if that other systems would be affected as well. Artifical gravity, for example. Power-flow interruption maybe, but again, same thing. We can't rule out an outside influence," he said, as they climbed into a Jeffries tube.
Bates nodded, then started descending. "Main Engineering is eight decks down. Hope you two are up for a workout," he said, as they descended.

Damion saw everyone scatter to their assignments and decided that the shuttle probably wouldn't leave until this was settled anyway.
He picked up his bag and took out his own Phaser. It was a standard type two phaser but he had played with it a little to give a more consistent beam and longer energy life.
He Holstered it and left his bag on a table in the bakery , and started heading to wards The turbo lift.
They were out of action as he suspected.
He groaned at the idea of crawling through Jeffreys tubes to get any where..
He was on Deck 25 so if transporters were on line then he would only have to climb down one deck to transporter room 13 to reach his destination... if they werent.... its along way to Ops on deck one.
He took a chance on transporter...
Before he reached the Jeffreys tube he noticed a strange shuffling in the dark behind him. He walked round a corner and turned and fired his phaser at the ceiling on a very low setting... it provided just enough light from the mirrored surface above to show nothing behind him....

T'Brel never had expected for this type of danger this early in his career in Starfleet, but he quickly recovered from the initail shock.
"T'Brel, head forwards and keep an eye out for danger. Give us a shout if the way is clear." Commander Hope said to T'Brel. T'Brel was a little apprenhensive, but was glad that the Commander had placed confidence in him.
Then out of nowhere a phaser fire came at him. It missed him by inches, T'Brel quickly fired back at the intruder.
"It's not clear, it is not safe," T'Brel yelled so the others would hear. The attacker kept attacking, it seemed that there wasn't anyway for him to get out, so T'Brel kept on attacking. Soon enough Commander Hope and Cadet Nokomis had reached him and were firing. Then the firing stopped, and T'Brel thought that the assaliant had been hit.
"Commander what do we do now?" T'Brel asked.
