Tiberian strode onto the bridge of the Hope, and smiled, taking in the command with a deep breath and beaming smile. This was the first time he had been on a Nebula class bridge in years, and it felt like he had come home. He strode about the support personnel on the bridge, checking systems and running diagnostics, and basically making sure that the ship was ready to fly. Tiberian walked round into the centre circle after this, and, with one last look at the whole area, exited he bridge into his ready room.
Inside, Tiberian sat down, activated his personal monitor, and ordered a strong, sweet black coffee. As he strained his arm towards the replicator to reach it, loathe to stand again now that he had sat down, he said in a slighlty higher pitched voice.
"Computer, open a channel to the Federation freighter Tardis, linking directly to Captain Piper"
"One moment please" the computer's crystal clear voice came through. The screen then lit up, changing from black to show the face of an older black man, dressed in black leathers, and sat in the foreground of what looked like a construction site.
"Cap'n Billy Piper at your service sir" The old man smiled, flashing a brilliant set of yellowed teeth, before turning to address someone off the screen "Hey Tommy! Get your jive [word deleted] hands off that console and get the hell outta here! I'm trying to use the comm link" He turned back to screen.
"Captain Tiberian Wong, USS Hope" Tiberian replied, having shot back bolt upright, and having spilled a large amount of scalding hot coffee on his right hand in the process "We are to escort you to Phalos I. Is your ship up to flying?"
"Oh this old girl, hell yeah" The old man scratched his white stubbled chin, before flahsing a yellowed smile once again "This is jsut some cosmetic work. We had to cramp up all non-essential areas in order to expand carrying capacity for this job"
"I completely understand" Tiberian nodded "I propose we leave early first thing tomorrow. That leaves us tonight to finish our, er, spring cleaning. So shall we say meet us outside base and ready for warp at 06:30 tomorrow?"
"It's a date Cap'n" Piper gave one last smile, and then the screen went blank.
Tiberian sat back in his chair amd straightened his tunic, before tapping on his comm badge.
=/\=Captain Wong to all senior staff. My compliments and will you please attend the observation lounge in one hour for a staff briefing=/\=
~Roughly one hour later~
As the crew filed in, Tiberian took his place at the head of the table.
"Thank you ladies and gentlemen. If you could please settle down, I'll begin the briefing"

David was generally grumpy as he strolled toward the USS Hope. He didn't generally know why, but he was certainly a crotchety young man as the porter showed him the way to the main hatch. The ship was beautiful as far as ships go, but David didn't seem to want to acknowledge it. He should have been excited, but the combination of nervousness and irritation. As soon as he'd gotten settled in on the Nevada he'd received his notice regarding a position on the Hope. It was exactly what he'd always wanted, but it happened to come at just the wrong time.
As he made his entrance, he looked around trying not to grimace at everyone. He quickly found his way to his quarters and put a few things away before changing into a fresh uniform. He had to admit he was in better spirits as he made his way to the bridge. Stepping onto the bridge of the Hope was like transcending into another level of consciousness. David had been on a bridge before, heβd taken part in several missions, heβd even commanded a group of people before, but stepping onto the bridge of a starship in a command capacity was a life experience unlike any other. People looked at him differently: some of the more meek individuals attempted shy smiles, a few others nodded gruffly, and still more looked straight at him and seemed to panic and look away. However, they all took notice of his presence and it was ultimately β¦ amazing.
As the bridge crew busied themselves with preparing to launch, David found his way to the observation lounge.
βCommander David Ramsey, reporting for duty, sir,β he said plainly, remaining rigid with his shoulders back and arms at his sides as he stood before the major.

Kuragh sat at his console a bemused smile on his face. Williams was always this way around new people, more so with those who out ranked him. He kept himself however focused on the task at hand. He ran through as many checks as he could and then waited until the breifing.
The conference room was just off from the bridge and it took barely seconds for Kuragh to reach it and take a seat. He noted Williams' absence and guessed the scatty CMO would forget. He turned discretely to one side and tapped his comm badge.
=^= Hey williams. Get up here. The new CO is ready to brief us=^=
"Sir." He nodded as Wong stood centre stage.
Tag Wong
Next to arrive was the new FO. He gave him the once over. He didnt look much in Klingon terms but looks could be decieving.

"A pleasure I'm sure Commander Ramsey" Tiberian smiled at his XO "I shall look forward to serving with you, as well as with you Mr Kuragh" Tiberian inclined his head towards the conn officer.
"Phalos I ladies and gentlemen" Tiberian announced, as the lights went out and the screen flickered to life "One of our new frontier worlds, exceptionally rich in mineral resources, particularly neutronium, palladium and pockets of dilithium. We set up shop there about two and a half years ago, and managed to erect a nice little colony, as well as major mining operation. However, this year the planet's natural weather system took an extreme turn, one which had no viable explanation other than it being an act of God. A mixture of hurricanes, flash floods and earthquakes decimated over a third of the total population, and completely shut down the mining operation, not to mention destroying all the crops and most ecosystems. The colony has been living off sporadic freighter deliveries and starship intervention for nearly one and a half months, all while the Federation Council have been preparing a major intervention. Our mission is to escort the Federation freighter Tardis, an Olympus class heavy transport to Phalos I. They are carrying enough food, medicine and replicators to re-establish the colony with great ease, and to allow for the prevention of something like this happening again. Once we have delivered the supplies we shall remain on station temporarily, facilitating their distribution, and seeing to any problems that might arise"
Tiberian concluded, looking around to see the responses of the staff.
"I plan to leave by 06:30 tomorrow, when we will rendezvous with the Tardis outside the starbase. As such, I would like you all to report to stations by 05:00 tomorrow for a final run through, before then, I want full system checks, and a completed inventory and roster for every department. When we do set off, I want you Mr Kuragh to plot us a course that will get us to Phalos I in the best possible time. This is at your discretion, but you must co-ordinate with Tardis' conn officer, and I would like us to be kept in a viably defensive position near to them"
<TAG Kuragh>
"Doctor Williams, if you would have a quick read through of the cargo manifest of the Tardis with Commander Merit. Commander, your task is to just double check that all the contents are present and accounted for. Doctor, your role will be more specific. I just want you to go through all the medical supplies and see if there is anything additonal that you think might be needed. If there is, you can see Commander Merit about it"
<TAG Doctor Williams/Commander Merit>
"If anyone needs anything more specific, both myself, and Commander Ramsey will make ourselves available to you. That will be all, be about your duties"
As the crew filed out, Tiberian turned to Commander Ramsey.
"Seeing as how we haven't served with each other before, I feel that we should get better acquainted, as well as go over the mission in greater detail. Shall we say breakfast in my quarters at 03:30 tomorrow"

David took his seat and listened intently to the captain's briefing. It was short and sweet, though David had the sneaking suspicion that actually carrying out this mission would be anything but. He had a bad feeling about this mission, but then again ... that could just be butterflies fluttering about in his stomach, he never really could tell the difference between intuition and indegestion.
"Seeing as how we haven't served with each other before, I feel that we should get better acquainted, as well as go over the mission in greater detail. Shall we say breakfast in my quarters at 03:30 tomorrow"
"That would be wonderful, Captain," David replied, "I look forward to going over the details of this mission in full. It seems like an odd sort of errand, then again, is there such a thing as a normal errand in Starfleet?"
The captain sniggered and David took his leave, trailing the other officers on their way to their stations. He himself headed almost instinctively toward the OPS station. Standing behind Commander Merit as she took to her station.
"How's she running, Commander?" He asked plaintively.
<Tag Merit>
"Excellent," he replied with a somewhat nervous sigh.
He idling wandered about behind Lieutenant Kuragh before finding his way to the engineering station and eventually to the medical station. After making his way around the bridge, David decided to go and inspect engineering in person. He'd yet to meet the Chief of Security, so he figured he'd swing by their office to discover why they'd managed to ignore the order to the mission briefing before returning to the bridge to begin his first official shift as a command officer.

Merit listened to the briefing. It was detailed enough but seemed to be lacking something. All these new officers came in thinking they knew best, but she knew better.
She heard Major Wong address her regarding supplies and Williams,
"Yes Sir. I ll liase with the Doctor and Quartermaster to see if we have anything of use. I will also require an inventory of the supplies teh Tardis will be transporting"
Wong nodded and moved on

"Not so bad. Security are eating up more than their fair share of the energy allocation but then they always do. Either way the ship is good shape and ready to ship out. You ll find we are efficient at our jobs. Good day Commander I must get to me duties."

David strolled through engineering, his data pad in his hand, casually making notes about the intricacies of the Hope's engine. It was a sterling example of Starfleet ingenuity and after greeting the engineering crew and asking a few basic questions, he began making his way toward the security office. He was just about to enter when his combadge signalled.
=^=Commander Ramsey, your presence is requested on the bridge=^=
=^=Acknowledged, I'm on my way.=^=
He glanced at the security office and wondered if he'd ever get the chance to meet the chief of security. If the officer wasn't on the bridge, David was going to have to go on a manhunt. He swiftly made his way to the bridge and caught a glimpse of a rather large freighter.
"Report?" he asked as he made his way to the first officer's seat.
"The freighter, Tardis is requesting permission to begin our mission," an ensign from somewhere around the security station replied.
"Open a channel," he said plainly when the ensign complied David took the initative, "This is Commander David Ramsey of the USS Hope, we are prepared to begin our voyage, but protocol requires that we inspect and document your cargo. We shall be sending a liason officer and our Chief Medical officer to do so shortly."
The captain of the Tardis glared at David as though he'd somehow offended the man's mother and/or wife.
"There is no reason for such a survey! We are a simple shipping vessel, not smugglers!"
"I understand that, Captain, but we must adhere to our orders."
The gruff man eyed David fiercely, but nodded in consent.
"We shall be expecting them. Tardis, out."
With that the channel cleared and David turned to the captain.
"Well, that wasn't so hard ... actually, it was almost as fun as pulling my own teeth," he said dryly, "Commander Merit, please retrieve Ensign Williams and head over there."
As she stood and made to leave, David called after her remembering her snarky comments from before, "And Commander, I trust that your competency will allow for a quick inspection, yes? I would rather not be stuck here waiting for hours."

The breakfast with Ramsey had gone quite smoothly, at least as far as Tiberian had thought, and the two had seemed to get on rather. This, in Tiberian's view at least, boded well for the remainder of the mission. He was sat in his ready room at present, icking through a variety of reports and rosters, none of which particularly grabbed his attention, but all of which were a semi-mundane necessity of the job. He flicked through them slowly, arranging and co-ordinating as he saw fit.
As the last padd was thrown aside, Tiberian stood, rubbed his eyes, and walked slowly to the replicator, each shuffling movement reawakening his higher brain functions, which had shut down due to the monotony of the paperwork.
"Coffee" He stated bluntly.
"Please specify. There are six hundred and ninety seven varieties of coffee on file" The computer's pedantic response annoyed Tiberian slightly, almost as if it had been deliberate.
"Earth, Costa Rican" Tiberian became more specific.
"Please specify milk or sugar" This was now really beginning to annoy him.
"Both" His answers were becoming sharper by the nanosecond.
"Please specify temperature" Tiberian now seriously considered punching the panel.
"Ninety degrees celsius. Is there anything else that you're about to ask me?"
"Negative" The computer beeped, and the coffee materialised. Tiberian swiped it up angrily, and in the process spilled the near boiling liquid at the top of the cup onto his hand. Switching hands to mop up his right, Tiberian cursed angrily. Just then, his comm panel bleeped. Moving back to his desk, Tiberian put down his coffe cup, and activated the panel.
"Hello Captain, this is Admiral Sharpe here" the greying Admiral appeared on the screen.
"Admiral" Tiberian smled back, what can I do for you?"
"I just want to know how soon you can set out" Sharpe said, his countenance disclosing his obvious worry "The planet is sending out far more frequent distress messages, all with worsening news. We need to get in there right away before this moves from a humanitarian crisis to a complete catastrophe"
"If things are that dire sir, I'll order immediate departure" Tiberian and Sharpe exchanged nods, and the comm link was closed.
He marched from his office and onto the bridge, where the XO stood, and both the Operations Chief and Doctor were leaving.
"Alright Mr Ramsey, let's get underway" Tiberian said, drawing a curious look form his XO. "I know I said 06:30, but as the teams are over there, and the Tardis is ready, we may as well set off now. The checks can be done in flight, and at least this way we can get set out more quickly. The crisis on Phalos is getting worse by the minute, and we can't afford to waste a nanosecond at this point" He took his seat in the centre circle.
=/\=Wong to Commander Merit and Doctor Williams. Once you're aboard the Tardis, we'll be setting out together. Complete your report at you leisure, and beam back over here when you're ready. Wong out=/\=
He looked to the viewer.
"Alright then, Mr Ramsey, clear us with the dockmaster. Mr Kuragh, ahead one third"
<TAG Ramsey and Kuragh>
The Nebula class hulk slowly pushed forward and began to pick up speed, clearing the starbase and soon moving alongside the Tardis.
"Communique to the Tardis. Tell them to head for Phalos I at Warp Eight, and to follow the course sent to them by Mr Kuragh. Engage"

Kuragh was glad to be back at the conn. It had been awhile since they had seen action and he was looking forward to do something rather than just sitting around even if it was just a mission of mercy.
"This is teh Hope requesting permission to leave Dock" Kuragh asked after orders were given to leave.
"This is Conqueror Dock. Permission is granted. Safe trip"
"Thank you Conqueror. Hope out" Kuragh replied and engaged the impulse engines. Carefully the umbilicals were released and the Hope edged out of dock and into space.
Once clear of all orbitals and shipping lanes Captain Wong gave new instructions and Kuragh punched in the coordinates for Phalos 1 and jumped the ship to Warp.

The Hope was on the way on a mission of mercy. The Tardis was alongside and Jo felt now was the best time to go aboard. She assembled an engineering kit from the CEO, who knew what she may find and went directly to the Transporter room to await Williams
OOC: What do you mean you dont know what to post Wong told you in his last post!!! You need to come with me to the Tardis so hurry up and sim your way over there and perhaps we can get on with the mission.
