;D
Rex had anticipated Commander Steve's request to prepare, since he had read the XO's personnel file and had extracted a psychological profile from it.
That subspace course in psychology actually was worth something, Rex smilingly thought to himself.
Although Rex had done every test available right after the maintenance, he didn't want to insult the First Officer and he ran some basic diagnostics, just to seem busy. And it was a good thing too, because the trouble they had experienced earlier when passing the warp 7 threshold, had caused a minor misalignment in the forward fasertargeting array. Although it was fixed with a few buttonpushes, it would sure save Bonar from embarassment later on.
He mainly used the rest of the time on the bridge checking out the 'new kids on the block'. While doing so, he crossed looks with the counsellor, who was probably doing the same.
"Similar tasks for different reasons", Bonar thought.
His mind lingered on that half-deep sentence he made up..

Steve walked back onto the bridge and saw that Rex was busy at his station, Frek was still alive... Steve laughed to himself. Grace was sitting there with them eyes, the eyes Steve saw looking into his mind. Leo was busy working and Zhukarak was making sure everything was running ok... bloody Marines Steve laughed again. Steve look to his CO "I have started the medical program and the doctor has her hands full, I will review the results later." "Good" Harrias replied. Steve walked towards his seat and sat down. =^= Jenkins to the bridge =^= =^= Go ahead =^= Steve said after tapping his comm. badge =^= I have fixed the problem plasma relays sir and you are ready to finish off the testing. =^= =^= Thanks, Steve out =^= Captain Jira looked over to Frek and informed him to continue with the warp testing.

Grace was trying to observe the bridge crew while pretending to look over a padd that was suppose to contain her appointments. Of which there were none, but she hadn't expected any yet.
While Grace was trying to observe, her eyes fell on Zhukarak who had been observing her, observing. Then she noticed that Rex had caught her as well. "Okay, I guess I am out of practice. I had better work on that." Grace said to herself.
She also noticed that Steve, the XO, was still wary of her and that Captain Jira was pre-occupied. Well, she promised not to read people's minds, but she could open her empathy. Her empathy helped her sense people's emotions. No, she wouldn't do that. The crew needed a chance to get to know her, to feel comfortable enough to open up to her.
It was up to her to start. She had hoped that the Captain had become comfortable with her before this test run, now she was unsure. The most wary of her was Steve, somehow she had to get him more comfortable with her presence. It was a good bet he knew she was a telepath, which Grace didn't need, to know that was where his wariness was steming from.
The one thing Grace knew for sure was the crew needed to trust each other in order for them to work together. That's what she wasn't feeling, comaraderie. This crew needed to get better aquainted, so trust could build.
Grace had to come up with something to get this crew to a point where they could trust each other. Each of them were very competent at their positions individually, but since they didn't know each other at all, they were un-sure of the other. She had a feeling, that Frek's accident prone problem could be helped in someway, as well. She had to hand it to COmmander Steve. Grace had seen Steve encouraging Frek which she had thought was quite good. It showed her that he was a good XO, which she had always suspected.
In the meantime, as soon as the simulation was completed in sickbay, Grace was going to go there and get to know the doctor better. Inwardly, Grace wished she could just order the crew to talk to her like the doctor could order crew for their physicals, but that just wasn't the best way for her to help them.

Things in sickbay seemed to be going well. The "Patient" was beginning to heal and Melain was about to let herself relax when the hologram similation grimeced and went into convulsions. Almost paniced Melain checked her scans.
"His histamine levels have increased. I thought you told me he had no allergies?" She charged Racheal who was franticaly searching the file.
"He doesn't" Rachael defended herself.
Melain grabbed a hypospray of Acinolyathin from Tom, and a moment later "Hans' was no longer having spasms, but his heart rate was still increased, and his histamine levels had not changed.
"The similation may be programmed with an allergy that crewman Hans does not posses." Tom pointed out. and Melain realised he was right. she was so wrapped up in treating the hologram like a crewman she'd forgotten that was no the case.
"It was probably the rexaline. The Mitigator shouldn't cause a reaction like that from any human." Melain said continuing her scans. "I'll need a medium dose of Immunosuppressant and Kayolean. We'll get the Rexaline out of his system, and continue from there."
A few minutes later and things were under control again. The patient was feeling a little lightheaded from the additional medications, and normaly Melain would instruct him to sleep it off and stay in sickbay for observation. In this case the similation ended and the biobed and instruments looked as though they had never been used.
"Good job team. Let's hope Commander Steve is happy with our preformance." Melain was about to deactivate the EMh when she realised Tom would much rather stay activated, and it was the least she could do after his help.

The ship was slowing, and Harrias realised that the two hours had passed. He walked down to Lieutenant Thelev, and put a PADD in front of his eyes.
"Frek. If you could take us via these coordinates on the way."
The andorian glanced at them, and then starting frowning. He tapped the coordinates into the computer, and then got it to bring a map up onto his console. He nodded, as if confirming his suspicion.
"But sir. Those are in the Romulan neutral zone. And they aren't on the way. They would take us days to get to and from."
"Lieutenant, I gave you an order."
"Sir. It is not permitted for us to enter the Romulan neutral zone unles..."
The trill CO cut in on his argument. "My apologies Mr Thelev. I don't like this anymore than you do, but Starfleet Command dictates that during such test runs, we test not only the ship, but her crew, and her crew's loyalty. I'm sorry." The andorian looked at him weirdly, although it may have been an andorian look for appreciation, Harrias had no way of knowing. Steve appeared over his shoulder.
"Anything wrong here? It seemed a bit, animated."
Grace was right behind him. "Indeed, I sensed confusion from Lieutenant Thelev." Harrias raised an eyebrow at her.
"No, there is no problem. It was just a slight mistake in coordinates." He smiled at the pair, and then tapped Grace lightly on the shoulder.
"You got a minute?"
She looked at him, wary that she had accidentally sensed Lieutenant Thelev's feelings, although they were quite strong. She nodded at him, and the pair walked into the conference lounge. Commander Mitchell turned to him as soon as they entered.
"You're lying, it wasn't a matter of wrong coordinates."
Harrias paused before he spoke, thinking, "Actually, in a manner it was. It was part of the test, personnel stuff, I don't like it, but I have orders too..."
She looked at him, and accepted his answer, perhaps sensing it was the truth, he didn't know, and didn't care. If it made things easier, then so be it. After his break, he started talking again;
"How do you think they are blending? Or at least, combining to together in their work?"

After the captain and counselor disappeared into the conference room, Zhukarak was going over what had just transpired. Lt Thelev was on the verge of refusing an order. Cpt Jira said it was a test of the crew’s loyalty, and then a slight mix-up of the coordinates. He let the helm officer off easy by apologizing to him about the confusion in the orders.
Zhukarak was glad that he had nothing to do at the moment. Observing the interaction of this new command crew was proving useful. Zhukarak was going to be able to gauge on whom he could depend on and who was going to require assistance when they were involved in away missions.
~ All have strengths and weaknesses. Must focus and use individuals’ strengths to compliment others’ weaknesses. ~ Zhukarak was confident in his marines. Lt Bonar and his security teams proved to be very competent also, especially since they had started to integrate their training sessions with the marines.
This was going to be a mission that was going to test not only the refits of the Nevada, but also the entire command crew.
Maj Hrisvalar continued to stand by and observe from the auxiliary science station.

Now the relays had been fixed the testing resumed. The ship was on its new trajectory and increased speed. With some tension Frek watched the speed gauge go up. Slowly it crept towards warp 7.
He mixed feelings about this ‘loyalty test’ thing. Obviously he was glad they didn’t have to go to the Romulan neutral zone. Romulans mend trouble, everyone new that. On the other hand, he didn’t like to be the subject for Starfleets little mind games. Frek didn’t like Romulans, to weird for his taste. Besides, the last one he met almost killed him. Like it was his fault he tripped and dropped that drink on the Romulans’ new shirt. Okay, the stains from the cocktail would be a bit of a pain the behind to get them out, but surely such a strong reaction was a bit exaggerated.
Warp 6.9, 6.95. With the help of Jenkins, the operations officer, T’Fat had fixed the problems with the injectors and relays in no time. “Approached warp 7 threshold,” Frek notified the bridge crew. Warp 6.99. Frek quickly glanced at the ceiling above his head. Fortunately no more lamps above him. “Warp 7,” Frek called out, “7.1” Smoothly the ship passed the threshold. Someone sighed relieved, letting out the breath he as holding. “Told you we fixed it,” T’Fat babbled on over the intercom, “See? No problems. Fixed perfectly.”
“Take us up to maximum warp mr. Thelev,” Steve ordered, “Let’s see if she keeps steady.” “Yes sir.”
The ship pushed through the warp 8 and warp 9 thresholds without any complications. Reacting perfectly to every to the helm controls. Frek slowed down to cruise speed and went into the next series of manoeuvring tests. An hour later he completed the test, satisfied with the results.

Leo wasn't sure what to think after what he had just seen on the Bridge. He thought to himself as he ran diagnostics on the sensor array, This was only his second posting, and if a CO gave him an order, who was he to refuse it? Should he follow his CO's orders, or follow Federation laws? He just hoped that he wasn't presented with that problem anytime soon. If he was, he wouldn't know what his reaction would be untill after he had acted upon it.
As he ran through the diagnostics he was also observing the crew. He wanted to get a feel for the way the ship was run, and the way the crew interacted with each other. So far he had seen some interesting sights!
OCC: Hi everyone, I'm relly sorry I've not posted before now, and that this one if such a short post. As I've told the captain, things are hectic here at the moment with uni and work, so I may not be as quick as I'm normally am at repling/posting. Sorry again!

In the conference room:
"No Captain. I don't believe the crew is melding together yet. That is something that takes time to happen." Grace replied.
Harrias answered a little sadly "I was afraid of that. It seems the same to me, as well."
"If you don't mind a little advice, or more like a suggestion." Grace said apprehensively.
"Alright, I am willing to listen." Harrias said.
"First off, none of us had a chance to get to know each before this test run. Secondly, the crew takes it cue from the CO and FO. You and Commander Steve recently left a special mission on Starbase Assailant. You each had a chance to see how each other works. That is what this crew needs, to see how each other works." Grace continues before Harrias could get a word in "I applaud Commander Steve's words to Lt. Thelev and it was a good idea for him to run that simulation for the Doctor Lorre. As well as the asteroid field will be good practice for Mr Bonar and the crew."
Harrias looked as if he would speak but Grace wasn't done talking "I'm going to lay on the line for you Captain. There is something wrong with you in here" Grace said pointing to her heart "And, you are not willing to talk about it, which is my job, you know. Harrias, I got a glimpse of your heart earlier and I found it to be good but it feels to me that you are hurting inside. For the record, I do not need telepathy to see you are hurting. Will you talk to me about it?"
"That was quite a speech, Grace. Anything else?" Harrias asked.
"Now that you mention it. It seems to me like Commander Steve is afraid of me, do you know anything about that?" Grace asked in return.

Steve was not surprised with what had just happened. He knew that the captain was a person built and respect and loyalty and his actions didn't surprise him at all. Steve had a feeling about what the CO and Grace had gone for a chat about but didn't say anything. "Mr Thelev report" "After fully testing the warp drive... with no problems this time I might add, I took the ship down to 1 quarter impulse and tested different manoeuvres and everything was without problems." "Good I am glad to hear, good job." Steve stood up and looked at the view screen "Mr Jenkins. Time to the asteroid field at warp 6?" "15 minutes commander" "Fine, Mr Thelev set a course at warp six. Once we are there come to a full stop and we will begin tests on the weapons array when the captain has finished."

Sickbay remained consistantly busy as crewman continued to come for their regular physicals. Melain was beginning to feel almost like a machine on an assembly line. At least everycrew member was different, and most where glad to have a CMO on board.
It wasn't untill Rachael complained idily about being hungry that Melain realised she hadn't given the Nurse a lunch break and she'd been working all morning and afternoon. "Racheal, why didn't you say anything? Go and get something to eat it won't due to have you getting ill."
"Are you sure? we still have a lot of files to go through." Rachael hesitated.
"I may be fresh out of the Academy, but I know how to run a physical and read a PADD. Go and get something to eat, Doctor's orders." Melain gave her Chief nurse a playful shove toward the door.
"Alright, fine I won't be gone long though." Racheal gave in. Just as she apporched the door it slid open to reveal a blue faced engineer. "Oh, Tanat, you've come to look at the biobed!" Racheal exclaimed, stepping aside for the technician.
"Hmm, Oh yeah. Sorry I'm a little late. My commander decided that fixing a phase converter took priotity." The Bolian gave a shy smile. "Which bed is it?"
"The fourth one, it keeps beeping." Racheal pointed to the bed. "Maybe I will stay."
"Go and eat Rachael." Melain insisted. "And the bed's moved onto a humming a few minutes ago."
"Sounds like something got knocked lose, I'll take a look." Tanat headed to the bed and set to work. Racheal remained in the doorway watching him untill Melain shoved her out the door.

“Warp 6 it is sir,” Frek replied as he handled the controls, “Course laid in. We’re on our way.” A door opened and Captain Jira and Mitchell reappeared on the bridge. Steve gave him a quick status update. “ETA mr. Thelev?” Jira asked. “Thirty seconds sir. Dropping out of warp now.”
On the main viewer the stars changed from the streaks into points as the Nevada continued his on impulse power. As they closed in they could make out the separate asteroids in the clusters of rocks floating through space. Frek brought the ship to a full stop at a distance of fifty-thousand kilometres from the asteroid field.
“Here we are sir,” Frek said leaning back in his chair.
ooc: I think of something better later.

Grace had not taken her usual seat, instead she remained standing.
"Captain Jira. Commander Steve. If my presence is not needed on the bridge, I thought I would go to sickbay and have my physical." Grace happily requested.
Harrias and Steve looked at each other then back at Grace. Steve replied "Counselor, I don't think I have every seen anyone happy to go see a doctor the way you seem to be. Request granted."
Grace stepped on to the turbolift all the while her thoughts were on the conversation she had had with the captain. He wouldn't open up to her just yet, but she thought she may be making some progress with him. It was just a matter of time, before he would be willing to talk to her about what was bothering him.
The other problem was Commander Steve, he was practically afraid of her, and she couldn't imagine why? As she continued on her way to sickbay, she would think of one idea after another to help the crew 'mesh' together, however, the more she thought the more outrages the ideas became. So much so she began to laugh outloud as she entered sickbay.
Tom, the EMH, looked up from what he was doing and saw her "What a sight for sore eyes. I didn't know you were back on the ship, Grace!"
"It's good to see you are still here, too. How is it you are activated, Doc?" Grace asked him.
"I'm not sure why, but the new 'real' doctor must need my help for something" Tom answered.
Doctor Lorre walked up during this exchange "I see you know Tom, Commander."
"Tom, who's Tom?" Grace asked a little befuddled.
Tom answered "That's the name Racheal gave me."
"Racheal is here! Where, I don't see her?" Grace asked looking around for Racheal.
Melain replied "I sent her to get some food, we lost track of time after the simulation."
"Speaking of which, I am here to find out how you thought you did on your simulation?" Grace asked.
"Are you here with the results, Commander,
"Please call me Grace or Counselor. I find I can do my job better if I am less formal. I tend to be more friendly then commandy. It is more comfortable for me. "
"I'll call you Grace or Counselor only if you call me Melain."
"Done. Melain, I did come here in a professional capacity. I like to find out how you thought you did on your simulation, and, no, I am not privy to those results, you're going to have to wait for Commander Steve for those. Also, I am here for my physical."
"Wonderful! A willing patient, quite a novelty. Why don't you go to biobed 1 and we can get started. As for the simulation, I thought my staff and I handled it very well. We'll just have to wait on Commander Steve for the results but I am confident, we did well."
With a twinle in her eye Grace said "Well, with 'Tom' here it could not have been easy to get through the simulation."
'Tom' was appalled "Grace how could you say such a thing!'
Grace began to giggle "Just kidding, Doc er 'Tom'. You were always so easy to tease." Melain giggled under her breath. "You'll have to forgive us, Melain, we go back a long way and worked closely together, as it was discovered I have medical knowledge ."
Melain looked shocked "Do you mean, you are a medical doctor?"
"As a matter of fact, yes. Or more to the point, I was. I don't know how much you know about me, but I was abducted from the 20th century, where I had been a medical doctor and psychologist. I actually just recently found this information out." Grace explained.
Tom said "I knew you had to have more background then you knew. You were always a big help to me, Grace, in crisis times. Now Dr. Lorre will have more help."
Melain "Grace, it will be helpful to have you here. I am curious as to why you aren't or weren't the doctor here before."
Grace said "Well, because my knowledge is buried in my mind, but comes out in times of stress. Plus, my knowledge is 20th century, so therefore limited as far as today's standards. I prefer to heal minds, not bodies. I'll leave that to you, Melain."

Melain found Grace quite easy to get along with, which she supposed was a necessity for the ship's Counsellor. "While it seems that with Racheal's gatherd experiance, Tom's programming and you basic knowledge my lack of field experiance won't prove too much of a problem for this ship." She laughed, unlike some CMOs she planned to make her medical team a little more of a team and less of a bunch of order following machines.
"You'll gain experiance soon enough, I doubt the Captain will have us doing test runs much longer." Grace smiled as she sat on the bio bed.
"Not too quickly I hope, I still have more then three quarters of the crew left to examine and not all of them are as willing as you." Melain was about to ask the nurse to find the Counsellor's file, but Racheal was one step ahead of her. "How is it that you got from the 20th century to the 24th century?" she had heard of such things before, but never actually encounterd anything like it.
"I was abducted by a Borg ship." Grace began. "They tried to assimilate be, but failed. Curiose they didn't through me out the nearest air lock and when the cube jumped centurys I jumped with them."
"You're anable to be assimilated, that is fasinating." Melain took the Counsellor's medical file from Racheal and looked through it. "Hmmm, you must have either never been in sickbay before, which is doubtful or you have not recoverd any memories about your health. Your file carries little but your name."

As soon as the ship had come to a full halt, Commander Steve ordered the preparation of weapons.
"Fasers and torpedoes ready", Rex called.
Jira turned his head to the CTSO, after reviewing some data on the endscreen of his chair.
"Lt. there's a target on exactly 50.555 km from our current position. Find and destroy it with a low-yield torpedo."
Luckely Rex could find the target quite easy. But how was a low-yield torpedo going to destroy that target from this distance.
"Scanning target now..."
Rex noticed a small but really deep crack on the upper right section of the asteroid.
"Calibrating torpedo, low-yield with 1 second and 90ms explosiondelay on impact"
"Fire at will", the Trill Captain responded.
"Firing..now".
On the viewscreen the torpedo was seen heading for the selected asteroid. Once the torpedo impacted on the surface, it was as if nothing happened, only to be followed by a gigantic blast a small 2 seconds later.
"That was some creative thinking, Lt.", Jira complimented Bonar with a tone which sounded as 'I didn't expect anything less'.
Commander Steve had already selected the next targets. "Helm..attack pattern delta-3...Lt. Bonar take out the targets at your discretion."
The ship accelerated and engaged the asteroids while manouvering violently...

“Commander Steve? I’m not sure. He is an intel officer, at a guess I would simply say that he doesn’t like other people to know too much about him. I’ve only known him for a bit longer than you Grace.”
“True.” She ceded, “But you have been on a mission with him, albeit a short one.”
“True, but there was little time for anything but the mission on that. And I spent more time with T’Val than I did with him. I’m sorry to seem like I am blanking you, but I need to go observe the rest of this run.”
“Of course Captain, you called me in here, not the other way round.” She nodded at him, and Harrias wondered whether he had maybe been a bit too harsh on her. He was about to say something, but thought better of it, and instead, spun and walked back onto the bridge.
He watched as Rex took the ship through the motions, destroying the asteroids, finding the weaknesses in them, quite as he had been expecting the tactical officer to. He also knew that right now, most of the marines were running a simulation across two decks of the ship, along with the security officer’s, both of whom believed that the other team were traitors, and had killed both Lt Bonar and Major Hrisvalar, thus leaving his senior officer’s on the bridge. He also knew that the Major would far prefer to be with the team than on the bridge.
As the ship executed a particularly sharp turn around an asteroid, it started shaking heavily. Instantly alert again, Harrias stood up out of his chair, something he immediately regretted, as the ship shook again, more heavily this time.
“Mr Thelev, did we brush against the asteroids gravity too strongly?”
Before the andorian at helm could respond, the andorian manning the science console answered.
“Negative sir, although we are feeling a strong gravity pull.”
“Where?”
“I can’t tell. I’m reading increased neutrino emissions and verteron emanations. Please tell me this is part of the simulation Captain?”
“Negative.”
“Then we are heading straight for a wormhole.”
The trill paused for a couple of seconds. He was truly panicked. Then, the seconds over, and the panic had gone too. He turned to his first officer,
“Commander, cancel all simulations currently running, move us up to yellow alert. Mr Thelev, try your damnedest to get us away from this thing. Everyone else, do what you can. Lt Jenkins, how far are we?”
“Best estimate, 200,000 kilometres.”
“I want a better estimate as soon as you can give it to me. Lt Thelev, what is our net velocity towards it?”
“Not much sir, sublight. At the distance Lt Jenkins guesses, we have about five minutes.”
“Warp?” Captain Jira asked.
“Not a chance, the neutrino levels…”
“Of course. Why does this wormhole have so much attraction though? It should not be pulling us in like that. Major, I want a full scan of the surrounding area. In less than two minutes.”
He sat back down in his seat. This certainly was not part of the simulation. He looked around the bridge. Everyone was definitely a lot more on edge, but they were still all doing their jobs efficiently. The only person who had shown any weakness through this so far was him, when he had paused for a couple of seconds.
He was broken from his thoughts by Major Hrisvalar.
“Beyond that wormhole Captain is a whole area of wormholes, black holes, supernovae, it has more gravity than Sol, indeed, more than a single black hole.”
“So you are telling me there is nothing we can do?”
“We are within the event horizon sir.”
Swearing loudly, Harrias stunned the whole bridge. “So we are going to sit here and slide into a wormhole. At least Captain Janeway was caught by surprise. Okay, hail the closest ship, tell them everything we have found out. Raise full shields, and as soon as that comm call is done, set a course straight for the wormhole.
A few minutes later, Steve had told a nearby Betazoid freighter of their plight, and the ship’s complement had been told of the situation, with that done, Lt Thelev inputted the coordinates.
“Everyone ready?” he asked. There was a mumble between the officer’s
Harrias nodded at him. “Well, people kept telling me to seek out new worlds. I just never thought I’d have to take a trip through an unknown wormhole. Engage.”
The ship plunged forwards, and then, lacking the spectacular opening of the Bajoran wormhole, they were simply swallowed into space. The viewscreen sparked out, and they were left blind. Harrias was thrown around heavily in his chair, but through determination and gripping the armrest, he managed to stay in it. After only a few seconds, it stopped. Harrias looked around uneasily.
“Are we done? Can we get a read on our location?”
Everyone in the bridge was frantically working at their consoles, none having sustained heavy injuries. A few seconds later, and Lt Jenkins spoke,
“We are… at Earth.”
“Earth? Open hailing frequencies.” He was damning the loss of the viewscreen.
“No-one is responding.”
“Someone bring up an external view on their console. Now!” The Captain ordered, not liking the suspense.
Steve was shaking ever so slightly. “I already have Captain. Earth isn’t there.”
“Isn’t there? We have the coordinates wrong?”
“No sir. In fact, we are at grid location 000 000. The centre of Earth.”
Harrias put his hands in his head for a couple of seconds, messing up his fringe slightly.
“Okay, I want confirmation of which universe we are in, ours or an alternate one, mirror one, future one, even a past one. I want hailing on all frequencies, all known languages, I want a full sensor scan of the whole area that we are. And I want a cup of tea.”

As soon as the first tremor hit the ship, Grace fell off the biobed. When she began to stand with the help of Melain, trying to get back into the biobed, the ship began to shake again causing Grace to fall again.
"This is beginning to annoy me. I am out of practice." Grace complained.
As the ship entered the other side of the wormhole, Grace collapsed, unconsious. Melain went to work without any results. "Stop your efforts Doctor. She is not hurt, or unconsious. Grace is in the process of having a vision. Give it time, all we can do is watch and listen. Usually there are ramblings with her visions that do not make any sense."
=/\=Dr Lorre to the Bridge=/\= =/\=Commander Steve here, Doctor. Are there injuries to report?=/\= =/\=Just one so far Commander. It is Commander Mitchell. According to the EMH she is having a vision, nothing out of the ordinary for her.=/\= =/\=Very well, Doctor. Keep us informed of her status. Bridge out=/\=
Steve and Harrias looked at each other. They had both read about this peculiarity of the Counselor's and were unsure of what to do about it, except wait.
"Tom, what do we do for her?" Melain asked.
"There is nothing to do but wait and listen. I told you there are usually ramblings with this, although, I don't remember it taking this long before!" Tom said starting to sound concerned.
Tom took vigil hovering near Grace, while Melain began attending to making sure sickbay ws ready for any injuries. As she did so, she was touched by Tom's attention to Grace. For an EMH, he had quite a soft spot for Grace.

Something had happend, something bad and Melain could tell. This was definatly not part of the similations. She had felt the ship move slightly in basic attack patterns and figured that they were testing out the weapons, but then everything went strange.
"Everything's ready here Doctor." Racheal reported. " I geuss now we wait." There may not be any other casualties, or they may be lots they'd just have to find out.
"Racheal, go and see if you can find out what's going on." Melain orderd. The nurse nodded and headed into her office to contact the Bridge. A few minutes later the doors slid opend and three injured crewman where helped inside. Danara among them.
"Get them into biobeds two through five and begin running scans. Rachael, I'll need you to pull up their files." Melain orderd helping Danara get up onto the bed. "You didn't need to go through all this just to say hello."
"You're hard to get ahold of" Danara grimiced. The Cardassian had burns on her left arm and side, and bruises on her right like she had been hit by an explosion.
"We've got ensign Jacobs, Danara and Crewman Tiller. Negative on allergies" Racheal handed Melain the files and began to prep Hyposprays of Rexalin. "They don't know what's going on Doctor. We seem to have been sucked into some type of uncharted wormhole.
"In that case call in Ensign Wicken and Adara, we should prepare ward two for injured."
Racheal nodded an contacted the emergancy medics. Melain had been eager to meet the Bajoran ensign Adara, but would have preferd to have done so under better circumstances.
"It appears to be mostly burns and bruises." Tom comented from where he was taking care of Crewman Tiller. "Tiller however has managed to break his leg falling from the second story of engineering."
"Stabalize him and begin Metorapan treatments." Melain instructed, administering rexaline to the three injured crewman. "How's the Counsellor doing" She asked Racheal who stood beside the Biobed they had layed grace in.
"Still unconsiose, I'll keep you posted." The Nurse replied

The violent shaking of the ship finally past. Well, that certainly was a nice change for the worst, Frek thought. Just his luck. If these sorts of things were typical in Starfleet he would be lucky if he made it past his twenty-fifth birthday. That would certainly disappoint his parents. They kept nagging on about grand-children. What the hell are they thinking?
The viewer came back to live again, showing a familiar star filled background. But somehow it seemed off. Frek ran a few cross-references, trying to get a position out of cross-referencing the stars surrounding their whereabouts. According to his calculations it confirmed what Jenkins already stated, they were at the centre where Earth should had been.
Frek cleared his throat. “Uhm, captain?”
“Mr. Thelev?”
“Sir, I think we might have a slight problem.”
That would be an understatement. “Yes, so I’ve noticed.”
“The system is empty sir. None of the planets show up on sensors.”
“Or perhaps never here,” Frek replied. He punched in a few commands and brought up the Suns image on the viewer.
“This is the Sun now Captain.” Frek brought up a second image. “This is how it should be.”
For what seemed an eternity the bridge crew stared at the images. There was a clear difference in colour and brightness.
“Is it possible we are so far in the past the planets haven’t been formed yet?” Steve asked.
“Or so far in the future the sun swallowed up all the planets and is know on its way becoming a red dwarf,” Jenkins replied, “I scanned the for background noise. It’s different than it should be.”
“Scan for the positions of the other galaxies,” Jira ordered.
With the help of the computer and star charts Frek fairly quickly managed to get his readings. More or less. Frek ran the calculations again. Sure there had to be a mistake.
“Sir?” Doubt and disbelief shimmered in his voice. “If my calculations are correct, and I belief they are, we are five-and-a-half billion years in the past.”
“Five-and-a-half billion years?” The Captain said sceptically.
“Uh…yes sir. Give or take a few years.” Frek licked his now dry lips. It didn’t help much. His tongue was a bit dried out as well.
“That’s not all sir,” he continued, “The calculations are based on the speed with which the other galaxies move away from our own Milky way. But…”
Frek paused a moment and took a deep breath. “But some galaxies are not here sir.”
“How do you mean, not here?”
“Some galaxies that should be clearly visible, like NGC 4414 or the M15 cluster, they are not here,” Frek replied. Today was clearly not his day. His foot almost got separated from his leg. The light-unit that came down from the ceiling missed just barely and now this.
“I get the same results here Captain,” Jenkins concurred with Frek. “We’re in the past and perhaps not even in our own universe.”

In her mind, Grace could see people walking around her. They looked familar. She was not afraid! "Please help me get back to my ship. I may be needed."
Tom, the EMH heard whispering coming from Grace. It was more conversational rather than the normal monotone her speech was during a vision. Tom was busy with crewman Tiller but kept an ear open to hear what Grace was saying.
Grace's conversation on the outside seemed onesided but in her mind it was not.
In her mind Grace was having conversations with various former crewmembers she had served with, and were all dead. "Why are you here? I don't understand"
"Grace, the Nevada-A must leave this place." SOmeone in her mind spoke.
"But I have no idea how to do that, can you help us to leave." Grace whispered.
In her mind "We are unable to help at this time. The crew must do that on their own. We will send you visions, when they are needed, not before." The familar people began to drift away as if in a dream.
"Please come back. I need more information!" That said Grace came out of her trance and sat up. "Well, that was strange!"
Tom heard and was quickly by her side "What was strange, your vision? I can tell you it was strange on this side of your vision. more than usual."
"I know what you mean." Grace started to get off the biobed, when Melain told Grace to stay put until she could be examined.
"I appreciate your concern, Melain. But I know I am alright. You will get used to my visions. For now I must go to the bridge to see what is going on.
"I will have to trust your judgement, Grace. For the record, I may never get used to your visions, if they are all like that."
"Someday I will try to explain them, as soon as I get them figured out." Grace left sickbay and headed straight for the turbolift and the bridge. She had no intention of telling anyone about her vision, yet. Not until she knew what was going on and could try to make sense of everything.

Melain helped Danara to her feet. "You should be alright to go back on duty, just don't push yourself and if you find out what's going on let us know."
"I hardly think things are being kept from you Melain." Danara sniffed. "But I'll see what I can do." The Cardassian slipped through the door past several more injured who where being aided by their commrads.
"Help them onto the beds, Ensign Jacob's you're good to go but the same thing I said to Danara goes for you." Melain helped the young human off the bio bed.
"I've got the new patient's files. Crewman Gibson can't have any acinolyathin, but other then that, no allergies." Racheal handed Melain the files and they began the process again.
"Doctor, I'm going to need your help with Tiller for a moment." Tom requested, Melain could see that he was struggling with the variose equipment, but why wasn't he asking Racheal for help?
Melain held the Mitigator while Tom fiddled with the brace. "What's wrong?" she asked.
"It's Grace, she probably doesn't want me saying anything, but that vision of her's wasn't normal." Tom whisperd.
"Do you want a look at my scans?" Melain asked, not sure what he was getting at.
"I already took a look, it was different. What do you know about... wormholes." Tom seemed hesitant.
"I'm not much of a astronomer, I know that they are tunnels between two points in space that travel through an area outside normal space." Melain was not eager to share her own spiritual beliefs regarding the spaceal anomolies.
"I think you know what I mean doctor." Tom pressed, he was no longer operating on crewman Tiller.
"Are you saying that the Counselor had a vision of... of the Prophets." Melain gasped, almost dropping the mitigator.
"I'm saying she may have contacted the aliens that dwell outside normal space, yes. Whether or not they are dieties.. I cannot say." Tom took of Tiller's brace. and stepped away.
"Doctor, I just got word from Engineering, that's all their wounded." Rachael broke the quiet. The doors slid open Melain felt a wave of security at the sight of Adara.
Melain turned back to Tom "Whatever it was we won't know for sure untill Grace choses to let us know."

After the Nevada had been sucked through the wormhole and finally came to a stop, it was realized that they had landed far back in time, too far back.
The crewman for the science station returned, for which Zhukarak was very happy. He was asked to give readings from that station when he really didn’t know how to operate it. It was just his luck that the science crewman had stepped away during this crisis.
~ I hope that doesn’t happen again. ~ Zhukarak thought, almost out loud.
While Lt Thelev and Jenkins gave their reports, Theel’zhiin had zapped in and arrived on Zhuk’s shoulder. He seemed to be very shaken and disturbed. He was very scared. Zhuk could sense loneliness, a void from Theel’zhiin.
“Captain. I don’t know if this will help or not, but Theel’zhiin senses a void of life out there. This only confirms that we may very well have been thrown back in time, ahead of any civilization in this galaxy.”
“Maybe Commander Mitchell can confirm or enlighten us with anything else she may be sensing.”
Zhukarak wasn’t sure, but it was apparent that the Nevada was alone…all alone.

As soon Grace stepped onto the bridge, she looked at the viewscreen "Oh my!" she exclaimed.
Harrias and Commander Steve looked in her direction when they heard her voice. Harrias asked with concern "Grace, are you alright? We had gotten word that you were having a vision?"
Grace seemed calm by the sight on the screen. "I am fine, thank you." As she spoke Grace walked by Theel’zhiin which made him anxious. Zhuk noticed, he also noticed the Counselor had spoken with no emotion in her voice.
Harrias noticed her tone of voice, too "Perhaps you should go back to sickbay, Grace, and help the doctor out."
"No thank you. I have to be here!"
"What do you mean you have to be here?"
"I was told to come here and tell you to leave this place. I can't leave here until we go home!"
Everyone on the bridge now knew the Counselor was not acting herself. Grace sat in her chair and stared at the viewscreen.
Steve said "Grace, you really should go to sickbay."
No answer. "Grace!" Steve said again and again no response.

The tension on the bridge was almost solid, as if you could basically touch it. Everybody looked at Mitchell. The counsellor was still silent, not saying a word. Steve bended over to her once more.
“Grace!” He gently rocked her by her shoulder, trying to get a reaction. “Grace, can you hear me?” he tried again. Still no reaction. Steve straightened his back and addressed the captain. “I think we better call the Doc up here sir.” Jira nodded in reply. “Captain to sickbay,” Jira tapped his combadge. “Lorre here.” The response from sickbay was immediate. “Doctor, I think we could use your help on the bridge,” Jira said, “Grace is…something’s wrong with her.” “On my way. Lorre out.”
Frek felled rather uneasy as he watched the whole thing happening on the bridge. He realised how helpless they were in this situation. Not knowing when and where they were. And what was wrong with the counsellor. It definitely looked scary. It gave him the chills. He remembered what Hrisvalar reported what lay beyond the first wormhole. An area filled with a variety of anomalies. More wormholes, blackholes, supernova’s. Frek was not a scientist, but he knew enough to realize that would seriously disrupt the fabric of normal space. There would be no telling where they were at the moment. Not without further research. For all they knew they could’ve been caught in a trans-dimensional shift. Common laws of physics could be off in such a case.
Melain had arrived on the bridge and pulled Frek away from his contemplations. They exchanged a quick glance before she turned her attention to Grace. By the uncertainty in her eyes Frek could see she didn’t know the severity of their situation yet. Well, she would know in a few minutes now she was on the bridge.

Melain had left Tom in charge and headed strait to the Bridge, not sure what she would encounter. She sighed in relief when she stepped off the turbolift and noticed no one was injured, but that feeling changed when Frek pulled her aside and gestured to the silent Councellor.
"What happend" Melain asked, crouching down beside Grace.
"She came up saying something about someone telling her we had to leave this place, and that she couldn't leave the Bridge." Frek replied. Melain took a quick glance out the window and saw that they were no longer in the Wormhole, but lack of astonomy lessons left her understanding no more then that. "We suggested that she return to sickbay, and then she just stopped responding."
"She could be having another vision. My scans show her brain activity at an increase, but she is not responing to any sensary stimulation. I don't think she's in any danger." Melain put her scanner away and stood up.
"Perhaps you should take her back to sickbay." Commander Steve recammended.
"To speak plainly I see no point. besides she was instructed to stay here." Melain found herself on the defensive.
"Instructed by who? As far as we know her vision was simply a result of her telepathic abilities reacting to the anomalies." This time it was the Vulcan Science Ensign speaking out.
Melain bit her lip nervously. "The first vision she had was when we where in the wormhole. I'm sure all of you are familiar with my... beliefs regarding that. Even StarFleet understands the power of the Prophets, where ever we are I have a feeling they are going to be the ones we need to consult before getting back home."
