The apple juice and conversation were a welcome change from breaking up disagreements between Marines and Security officers. As Potter related his experiences while flying fightercraft, Imad's thoughts wandered back to the incident. He was surprised by how much confidence he had during the exchange with the security officers. ~It's almost as if being with the Marines has made me more self-assure.~ Imad smiled and emptied his glass.
=/\=Lt. Mrad, report to my office for status update on the fighters and bring along Captain Potter=/\= Jamil's voice said after his commbadge chirped.
He tapped the insignia. =^=On my way Major.=^= Imad replied. He set the glass down and stood to his feet. Potter joined him and the two of them left the lounge at a moderate pace. After a few minutes walking they arrived at Jamil's office and were issued in by the desk sergeant. As per protocol, he and Potter came to attention and saluted the SMO. After Jamil returned the salute and bade them to sit down, Imad started to relate his concerns about the fighter wing.
"They're old ships bro," he said, a nod from Potter and then he went on to tell Jamil about speaking with Tactical Command & Operations. "The TCO is letting me order some new birds and the Captain," Imad indicated Potter, "suggested the Eagle variant and the Strike Eagle. I got a chance to fly one on Earth so I told them that's what we'd like to have."
"Sounds good to me. Have you had a chance to meet with your pilots?" Major Mrad inquired.
"Not yet, some of them are still enjoying shore-leave," the lieutenant said, then asked what was on his mind, "How about this Chief of Security? Have you heard about some of the rules he's implemented?" Imad asked his older brother. The Flight Wing CO listened as the SMO related about his confrontation with the senior security officer. Imad just shook his head at the end of Jamil's story. He didn't really know what to say about the Commander's inappropriate behavior. "Well someone made him a senior officer for some reason..maybe we just haven't seen the best of what he has to offer?" Imad suggested. He then told Jamil about the run-in between the marines and security officers in the lounge. "It's almost as if he's going out of his way to cause problems..oh well, some more drama," Imad said with a smile.
