ooc: I'm going to move this along a bit, feel free to backpost <but not too much please:)>
An hour later, the senior staff and Admiral Hepta were seated at the oval table in briefing room two. The main display showed an image of Dorw'I, and a split image showed the station built on the moon, after it was terraformed.
"The current commanding officer, Captain Savel, has requested additional aid in the ongoing disputes with the Cardassians," Sonak explained, as she changed the image to a map of the region. "I have served with Captain Savel and I know she would not request aid if it were not really necessary. The Dorians themselves are a handful, but the Cardassians claim Doroch, even though it is still in Federation space. On top of that, there remains the dispute between the Dorians and the Dorw'Ians."
Sonak paused, again changing the images. "The Dorians are the females, and they control their society. Nothing gets done without their strict permission. The Dorw'Ians, the males, are bound to their mistress until the age of twenty-three. The women, of course do not agree with this, but the men have gained their rights and intend to make use of it. For the past ten years there has been a mutual understanding between the men and women, but the relations are strained. Admiral Hepta will be taking over control in the Doroch sector, and attempt to calm matters down."
She paused again as she sat down. "Any questions?"

They spent more than half an hour pouring over the programming code of the Drone. Eventually, Nephi went to a console and started inputing test values for the program.
"There it is!" he said after a while.
Carl snapped up from his reclined position against the wall. "You found it?! Good! What'd I do?" he asked covering over, nearly knocking Nephi out of the way.
"Check this out," he said, highlighted a block of code.
n = (LatMove % 47)/(HorizMove * (x + 1)) WheelMove1 = (n * LatVis) WheelMove1 >> Motor1
"With this block of code," Nephi explained, "Anything that includes a height of 47 centimeters returns a null value for n."
Carl nodded. "Yeah, I see what you mean. I'll have to figure out how to work around that."
"You do that," Nephi said. "Right now, I have a Briefing to get to. I don't want to be late again," he said, and left his Office and Engineering.
He left 5 minutes early, and was not surprised when he was the first one there, except for Sonak and Admiral Hepta.
"I see you took your experience from the last Briefing to heart, Mr. Jacobson," Sonak said as he sat down.
Over the next few minutes the rest of the Senior Staff arrived, and Sonak began the briefing.
After she sat down, she asked, "Any questions?"
"I have one," Nephi said, leaning forward. "From what I see this is a Federation installation, but what's the technology level, and particularly, of their defenses? Do their weapons or shields need a boost?"

Jared wasn't far from the briefing room, being as he was on the bridge. Nevertheless, he saw Jacobson hurry past into the briefing room five minutes beforehand. Consequently, Jared was second in, not first.
Jared didn't think the situation warranted too many questions from his side of things beyond what was said. 'From what I see this is a Federation installation, but what's the technology level, and particularly, of their defenses? Do their weapons or shields need a boost?' After Sonak answered, Jared spoke up. 'Speaking of weapons; are we there as a transport or a fighting ship? Also, what sort of resistance could we expect from the Cardassians if we are to fight?'

Although the prospect of a Briefing wasn't something L'Ola generally got excited about, she'd been feeling a little strange for a while and was hoping to get her mind off things.
She didn't feel like talking much, but she listened to every word that was said. Paying attention was vital to stop her dozing off. Maybe she should ask someone in sickbay for something to help her sleep better at night...
Snapping back into reality, L'Ola heard Jared asking a question. Annoyed that she hadn't thought of it herself, she made a note on the PADD she was holding and really started to concentrate.
Everything else would have to wait.

"please make sure that the senior staff receives a copy of this PADD. Briefing is in an hour, I do hope Ms Kanz will be done with her tour by then." Fox nodded and began working on it. After a little while he had padds ready for everyone and handed one to the senior officers on the bridge who would attend the briefing. Although he had gathered the information about the Doroch sector he didn't recall the details and started reading his own padd. About an hour later he made his way toward the briefing room. Walking in he saw that Sonak, Admiral Hepta, Nephi , Reman and L'Ola we're already there all sitting in a chair, some looking at the padd. Fox sat down in an empty chair, waiting for the briefing to start.

"It is a fairly new station," Sonak replied, "the old station was recently destroyed and Starfleet Corps of Engineers was drafted to quickly build a new station, before the old one was demolished. You must know the old station was fairly obsolete and unsafe. The new dome structure is much safer, though I assume Captain Savel will be most pleased if you offer her to take a look at the defensive systems."
She didn't miss the fact that Nephi, being an engineer by heart, was anxious to get a look at the station. She also noted that for the first time, the admiral actually seemed interested in the topics at hand.
Now, she turned to Jared. "We will be there primarily as transportation for the admiral," she answered him, "but should the situation warrant it, we shall enter a defensive mode and protect the station now that the ships attached to DMS are out on patrol themselves. The Nimitz is near the Cardassian border, and the Pegasus is patrolling the other side of the region."
Turning to Hepta, she almost smiled. "Anything to add, admiral?" she asked, inviting him to take the lead on the remainder of the briefing.
<Hepta>

Lucy checked the timetables again just in case she was switching sections the next day. But her suspicions were confirmed, she had to ride it out with the Ops crew a little longer.
It wasn't that she didn't understand what to do, or that she didn't see the point. And everyone was being very helpful, even though a few of them were obviously acting out of character to do so.
No, as jobs went it should have been quite tolerable. She just didn't enjoy it. There was something about it that seemed boring to her. Not for the first time, Lucy sat wondering how on earth her friend Carrie could stand doing such a job every day. Then she remembered that there's a big difference between a ship and a starbase.
"Computer, locate Ed Tanner."
"Ed Tanner is in his quarters"
Lucy thought for a moment. She'd better check, just to be on the safe side. "Computer, is anyone else there?"
"Negative"
A half-evil grin appeared on her face, "Kanz to Chief Tanner."
=/\= Tanner here, how can I help? =/\=
"What are you supposed to be doing right now?"
The voice at the other end sounded puzzled, =/\= Umm, nothing as far as I know... =/\=
Lucy was just about to tell him that she just wanted to play tennis when a small noise at the other end caught her attention. "Did you just say something?"
=/\= No, Lucy, I didn't. And how long were you planning on waiting before you told me it was you? =/\=
"I was just about to, but it sounds like someone at your end gave the game away."
Ed laughed, =/\= Yeah, I have a few friends round. =/\=
"Oh okay, well I guess you're busy then. Kanz out."
Less than five minutes later Lucy was outside his door, curiousity having got the better of her. The computer still said that Ed was the only person in the room, but someone somewhere wasn't telling the truth.
The length of time it took the efficient scientist to call her in suggested that something was really up. And as soon as she'd stepped through the door Lucy was almost certain she knew what was going on.
"Hey, I checked with the computer a few minutes ago and saw your friends had left. So do you want to play tennis?"
Ed looked more than a little flustered, "Well I was going to read up on something I have to do tomorrow..."
Lucy smiled, "That's okay." She looked him right in the eyes, "Do you reckon Sam wants to play?"
The stuttered response gave the final confirmation, "W-what do you mean?"
"Sam, get out here this second."
"I can't" came a muffled response.
"Why not?"
Carrie stepped out from the corner, "Sorry, I was kind of blocking him in."
Lucy looked around the room as Pete, Lara, Josh, and finally Sam all stepped out from hiding places.
"Well this explains a lot..."

Sarah watched Nephi leave the office, then turned back to the console. "Now I'm glad I don't have his job," she said.
Carl looked up from the code. "Why's that?"
"Watching him run around, keeping everything working, the burden of that on his shoulders. Plus he has to go to meetings while we get to stay here and do stuff while he's gone. Anyway," she said, and went back to the code.
"Think Nephi's going to mind us using his Office even though he left?" he asked.
"Naw," said Sarah shaking her head. "And if he does, we can just move anyway," she said, shrugging her shoulders.
"Good point," he said. "There it is!" he exclaimed, and his fingers flew across the console for a minute. "I fixed it." He then showed her the adjusted code:
n = (HorizMove * (x + 1))/(LatMove % 47) n = 1/n WheelMove1 = (n * LatVis) WheelMove1 >> Motor1
"Still serves the same purpose," he said, "But no possibility of a null string. Let's test it again," he said, after closing the code window.
He again directed the Drone to move forward over the chair. This time, the wheels moved properly, and the Drone went easily over the chair.
"We did it!" Carl explained, smiling.
"Yes we did," Sarah said, smiling as well. "Now, want help on the rest of it?"
"Sure," he said, and they starting working on the hardware.

ooc: rightyho folks, here we go!
After the briefing, the senior staff filed out of the briefing room. At the helm, ensign Janice Hargrove was doing a good job keeping the Vesuvius on course towards Doroch. Sonak nodded briefly at her, then followed Admiral Hepta to the mess hall. Once there, she invited him to take a seat at the head of a long table.
She picked up a wineglass, which was filled with a bright ruby fluid and she raised it as soon as the crew had seated themselves. "It is my honour to welcome retired section admiral Tettares Hepta aboard the USS Vesuvius," she announced, "and I hereby propose a toast. To Admiral Hepta!"
"Admiral Hepta," the crew repeated, as Sonak sat back down.
~~
Sonak woke up slowly and rubbed her temples as she sat up. Around her people lay sprawled on the deck, or were leaning over their consoles. She got to her feet and looked around, wondering what exactly had happened. She walked over to the operations console, and shook ensign Maris, but the young man didn't respond.
The bright blueish/white stroboscopic light that indicated multi-vector assault mode was flashing at it's usual rhythm, denoting just that: MVAM. ~did we go to MVAM?~ Sonak wondered, as she blinked against the bright light.
She saw Admiral Hepta sprawled in the command chair and she limped over to him, shaking him forcefully. "Admiral, wake up!" she called, also wondering what a flag admiral, a retired section admiral at that, was doing on her ship.
"Hargrove, where are Mercury and Discordia?" she asked the woman at the helm. She would have to do until Maris woke up.
The woman's hands flew over the console, as if she were playing a fast piece of music on a piano. "They are each two lightyears from our position ma'am," she answered, her voice shaking, "it'll take us two days to reach them, at warp six."
"Make it so," Sonak muttered as she sat down in the first officer's chair. Being in MVAM meant that L'Ola would be on Mercury, and Nephi on Discordia. Reman would be on Mercury with Kanz and Fox would be on Discordia with Nephi. She sighed audibly, and walked up to the OPS station again, trying to access their orders. The computer was a complete blank on the issue, there were no orders available whatsoever.
Taking a look at the starchart, she noticed that they were a long way from Doroch, and they had entered the DMZ. "This will soon be an EMZ if we do not get out of here soon. Hargrove, maximum speed away from here and towards Mercury and Discorda."
"Yes Ma'am!" the ensign snapped, as she set to work as quickly as she could.
"Admiral, what is the last thing you remember?" Sonak asked persistently, forcing the old admiral to look at her.
ooc: all righty everyone......up to you all now!

Nephi slowly became conscious, and the first thing he was aware of was the fact that he was in pain. There was a dull pain throughout most of his body, and he could feel that he apparently laying face down on the floor.
Opening his eyes and attempting to pick himself up, he realized he was on the Bridge. Looking around, he realized it was the Main Bridge, but rather his module Bridge. The bluish-white strobe lights told him that they were in Multi-Vector Assault Mode. He looked around at the crew present, who were slowing rising themselves. Among them were Commanders Harper and Fox, with Fox nearby the Science station, and Harper nearby the Engineering station.
He pulled himself into his Command Chair. It was an odd feeling. He had never sat in this chair before. "Everyone alright?" he asked all of them.
After he got positive acknowledgements, he said, "Now what the heck is going on? Where are we, and the other modules for that matter?"
Lieutenant Leavitt, his CTSO, checked his console. "We're near the Cardassian DMZ. The other two modules are each about 2 light-years away."
"Hail them," he said quickly.
"Can't," came the reply from Lieutenant Vasati, his female Bolian COO. "Long-range communications are down."
He tapped his comm-badge. "Bridge to Engineering."
"Lieutenant Grant here, sir. I, uh, appear to be the highest ranking on here," Alma said uncertainly.
"That's because we're in MVAM Alma," Nephi replied. "What's our status."
After a minute, he replied. "Long-range communications are down, shields are at 85%, and we can't do better than Warp 7."
He turned to his helsman, Lt McCoulley. "How far away are we at Warp 6, Lietuenant?"
"At Warp 6, 2 days," she replied.
"Set course in direction of the other two and engage," Nephi ordered.
A minute later, they were moving. Nephi checked the computer for their mission and/or orders, but found nothing available on it. He stood, and turned to the back, facing Fox and Harper. "I can't find anything on our mission, nor can I remember. Harper, looks like you were at the Engineering station when we awoke, so you'll stay there. Fox, your Chief Science Officer so you'll stay there. The question is," he said to everyone and anyone, "why are we here, how long were we out, and why are we in M/VAM? Can anyone remember anything?"

OOC: a bit too close near the science station.
Hanging over the science station Fox woke up. The blueish light was the first thing he noticed. He looked at Nephi who was asking several officers about the status of the module.
As he asked where the other 2 modules were Fox tabbed a few buttons on his console, making a star chart appear on the main screen. A bit later 2 blinking dots appeared on it. "There they are."
A course was set to Minerva. After a while he asked if anyone could remember why they went to MVAM or what they had been doing. Fox shook his head, speaking first of everyone present.
"No, nothing. My memory of what happend is blank." He looked around the bridge of Discordia seeing all the other officers agree with him.

Working out the details of the current situation was by far the easiest task at hand. Although the precise status of the other modules wasn't available, the ship still seemed to be in 3 pieces.
L'Ola checked the crew manifest for the secondary module. She knew who was supposed to be there in theory, but without knowing the circumstances under which the ship separated it was dangerous to assume anything.
She called over Jared, who had been frantically searching for any information that might be useful.
"I'm going to get the department heads together in a few minutes. We'd better check everyone on the module to make sure that no one knows what happened."
Jared nodded, "It seems unlikely that we wouldn't have heard by now, but I'll spread the word around."
Lara opened her eyes and saw a worried face looking back at her. "What's happening?"
"No idea" Pete sighed, "But I was worried that you were going to stay unconcious. All the effort we've gone to to stay hidden would have been a waste if we'd had to go to sickbay."
She forced a laugh, attempting to hide the panic sensation she was feeling. "Where are the others?"
Shaking his head he sighed again, "I can't work it out. No trace of them on the ship."
"Let me look" Lara walked over to the console in Lucy's quarters. "That's odd, the ship's a lot smaller than it was."
A look of realisation crossed Pete's face, very closely followed by a look of dread. All the people who had been trail covering where on different ships.
"We're currently heading to meet up with the other modules and should do so within the next two days. Which gives us quite a bit of time to work out what on Qo'noS is going on." L'Ola paused in the hope that someone else would pick up.
Katia looked a little confused, "Can't we at least ask the others what's happening?"
Several heads shook around the room, "Inter-module communications are down" someone helpfully stated.
L'Ola hit her head on her hands, "Okay, for the benefit of everyone who hasn't heard this on the rumour mill already, Commander could you give us a run down on what we know so far?"

Jared woke up on his console. He looked around the bridge. His brain reassessed things. Jared woke up on the Ops console on the secondary bridge. Now where he was positioned was sorted out, his brain went through status checks. Jared; alive. People around; alive. Things generally intact. This is good. We are in MVAM. This is not good. Communicator badge is back to normal, Treewood symbol is now on large gold chain around neck like the Treewoods had it. This is also not good.
He sat up and started accessing anything on the console; star charts, status reports, anything. Commander Kanz called him over after a few minutes. 'I'm going to get the department heads together in a few minutes. We'd better check everyone on the module to make sure that no one knows what happened.' 'It seems unlikely that we wouldn't have heard by now, but I'll spread the word around.' Like a healthy spreading of panic butter on the toast of absolute disaster in the making, he thought. Jared didn't feel panicked; it wouldn't help him survive if he did and if there was one goal for him it was to survive.
After contacting the other department heads, Jared found out that most people were fairly clued up to current events, if not historical ones. He wondered where Master Swift was; he was generally clued up about the hands before the mast. Also, where was Sprite. Jared took a few minutes out in the confusion to step into the turbolift to deck 2 and press the little control he had in his pocket. Fortunately, Sprite appeared after a few minutes. This was good. Jared checked the rest of his personal equipment was all there and it was.
A few minutes more saw Jared return to the bridge. 'Okay, for the benefit of everyone who hasn't heard this on the rumour mill already, Commander could you give us a run down on what we know so far?' It looked like Kanz's first command wasn't going as well as it could do. Jared took his seat again. 'We have no long range scanners, no communication, no cloak, impulse is coming back online but warp appears to be...' The sudden sound of silence, but not of the kind from Simon and Garfunkle, shattered the running noise of the ship. 'No warp either now. Also to make things that much rosier, we are in the Cardassian De-Militarised Zone, which they will no doubt militarise as response to our presence.' Jared thought he'd be helpful here. I suggest we divert all energies to making the warp work as well as possible as soon as possible and set course to rendez-vous with the other two parts. At warp 6 that will take about two days. Hopefully as a full ship they won't kill us or we could at least run away.'

"My memory is also affected," Nephi responded. "I remember being on the Main Bridge just as our mission started, then waking up here."
Nephi looked around the room, and those present generally nodded their heads, agreeing with similar memories.
"Bridge to Sickbay. Doctor...Reckus," Nephi said, hesitating as he recalled who would be there. "Anything to note from the medical side?"
"Not that I can find, Commander," Jatan reported from Sickbay. "Anything on the location on Minerva, and my wife?"
"They're about 2 lightyears away. We're heading toward them now."
"Excellent. Let me know when we're close."
"I will. Bridge out," Nephi said. He turned as the door to the Bridge opened, and two Officers Nephi didn't recognize came in. They looked around, saw Fox's rank, but saw where Nephi was standing. "Umm, who's in Command here?" the male asked.
"I am, Commander Jacobson," Nephi responded. "Who exactly are you?"
"Oh, sorry sir," the male responded. "I am Josh Turner, and this is Carrie Johnstone," he said, gesturing toward the female. "We're from Bellicose, and had tagged along on the mission, as guests of Lucy Kanz. We were with a few others, but can't find them, so we're assuming they're on the other modules. Basically, we want something to do."
Nephi nodded, smiling. "I'm glad to hear it. We're somewhat short-staffed, as we're in MVAM. What are your areas of expertise?"
"Communications," Johnstone responded.
"I'm trained in just about everything," Turner responded. "Medical, Security, Engineering, you name it, I do it."
"Good. Both of you report to Engineering and ask Lieutenant Grant for your assignments. The highest-skilled Engineers are on the other modules, and I'm stuck here, so he could use the help."
They both nodded, and left.
------------------------Main Engineering---------------------
Alma looked around. Ensign Krak, his module Asst CEO, came over.
"I'll tell you what Krak," he said to the Klingon. "This is certainly a shock. To wake up in the middle of nowhere, unsure of how you got here, and find yourself the Chief Engineer? Takes getting used to."
Two unfamiliar engineers, a male and a female, walked up to him. The male spoke. "Are you Lieutenant Grant?" he asked Alma.
"I am. What can I do for you?" he asked, wondering who they were.
"We're both from Bellicose. We tagged along on this mission, and Commander Jacobson told us to report to you to offer our services. I have Engineering training, and Carrie here is a Communications officer."
"Excellent," Nephi responded. "Carrie, you can start working on our long-range communications, and Crewman..?" he said, turning to the male.
"Turner, sir," he responded.
"Crewman Turner, start working on the sensors."
They both turned to start on their respective assignments. Alma tapped his comm-badge. "Grant to Commander Jacobson. Thanks for the boost, Nephi."
"Any time, Alma. Let me know if you're having any trouble done there."
"Will do. Grant out."

Post by SA. Tettares Hepta [Ret] on Sept 26, 2005 16:10:43 GMT
-¦- Scene: USS Vesuvius-A, Minerva Module, Bridge -¦-
<snip from Sonak>
She saw Admiral Hepta sprawled in the command chair and she limped over to him, shaking him forcefully. "Admiral, wake up!" she called, also wondering what a flag admiral, a retired section admiral at that, was doing on her ship.
</snip>
Hepta awoke with a start, an odd, light feeling in his head. He looked around and didn't understand what he saw. What had happened to his quarters? What were all those people doing in his room? His mouth was dry as dust, as it so often was at morning. A glass of water, that's what he needed. Perhaps that would also clear his mind a little.
He got to his feet and stumbled to what he believed to be the replicator, but what was in fact an unmanned auxiliary console. Sonak and Hargrove were discussing the ship's situation, but Hepta's mind was still too foggy to notice them. Sonak and Hargrove, in the meantime, were simply so busy figuring out what had happened, that they didn't notice the Admiral.
"Computer, a glass of water," Hepta said to the console. It didn't respond of course, and that set off some alarm bells in his mind. "Computer," he started again, but by now he realized something strange was going on. He turned around and took in the scene. These weren't his quarters, that much was obvious.
<snip from Sonak> "Admiral, what is the last thing you remember?" Sonak asked persistently, forcing the old admiral to look at her. </snip>
"Water," Hepta replied promptly. "I was getting a glass of water." Several images flashed by in his mind. A table, lots of people. Food, and wine. "A dinner? I think I was at a dinner. You were there, too, Commodore. I was thirsty, but I wanted to save the wine until the main course, so I asked for a glass of water. I must have passed out at that point, because next I know, I woke up here."

"Look, just stay here okay?"
"Yes boss" Sam replied sarcastically, but obviously intending to go along with it.
Satisfied with the response, Lucy left to head towards the bridge.
When she got there she realised that the rest of the crew were as confused as they had been. She patiently waited until Sonak had finished her conversation before walking over and declaring herself confused.
"Commodore, I'm supposed to be reporting in to someone for shadowing at the moment, but I'm not sure who. So I tried to find m- Commander Kanz, but the computer says she's not on board.
Sonak smiled sympathetically, "It appears that we are in MVAM, Lucy. Although we are currently unsure as to the reason."
Lucy looked like she was thinking for a moment, "Ahh, so your First Officer is on the secondary module. And whoever it is I'm supposed to shadow is probably on a different module too..."
She waited eagarly to hear what her new instructions might be.

Sonak gazed from Hepta to Lucy Kanz and frowned. She hadn't expected Lucy to be on Minerva, but rather tailing Commander Jared instead. "Admiral, I believe everyone had a similar experience," she answered Hepta, then motioned towards her readyroom. "If you are in need of refreshment, please feel free to make use of the replicator in my readyroom. After that, I could use all the assistance I can get in figuring out what exactly has happened since having dinner and now. From what I can tell right now, several days seem to have passed."
<Hepta>
The Vulcan commanding officer turned back to the girl standing uncertainly before her. "If you feel confident, take the OPS station," she said, "Hargrove, what is our status?"
<Kanz>
"Still working on it ma'am," the woman at the helm announced, then frowned. "Uh-oh!"
"Report," Sonak said harshly, limping over towards Hardgrove.
"We've got company ma'am," the woman reported, her voice shaking as she pointed at the screen. "Cardassian warships, three of them." Her hands flew over her console again as she accessed the navigations systems. "They'll be on our tail in five minutes."
"Lucy, find me our weapons status!" Sonak called over her shoulder, "and find it yesterday!" She tapped her combadge. "Engineering, now would be a good time to get our warp engines back online, and our shields!"

Sonak limped back to the center seat, but never got there. The first Cardassian vessel opened fire on them and Minerva rocked violently. Every crewmember that was on their feet was sent sprawling and Sonak wasn't spared either. She was sent flying and landed hard on the deck.
Grimacing, she crawled back to her feet and tried to reach the chair a second time. Again the module rocked, and several consoles sent up sparks as they exploded. At the science station, ensign T'Gat screamed in agony. From the distance, Sonak could see the young Vulcan's face was badly burned.
"Kanz, get her away from that console!" She tapped her combadge. "Caldwell, we've got injuries. Prepare to receive a badly injured Vulcan woman!"
"Acknowledged!" Caldwell replied smartly, but even he sounded as though he were in pain. Seconds later, the body of the Vulcan science officer disappeared in a shimmer.
"We've lost propulsion!" Hardgrove yelled from the helm station, "shields down as well! We're defenseless!"
"No, we are not," Sonak growled, remembering what she;d done the last time this had happened. The whole incident had left a smear on her otherwise spotless starfleet record. "Kanz, get those weapons online, stat!"
She limped over to the readyroom. "Admiral, are you still in one piece?" she enquired, just as Minerva was hit by another volley of weapons fire. This time, gravity was knocked offline, and Sonak felt her feet lose grip on the deck. "Excuse me," she told him, leaving him behind.
"Everyone, get in environmental suits, NOW!" she yelled over the noise of the computer announcing that gravity and life support were offline. She pulled two suits from a locker in her readyroom, having discovered their presence only minutes before their mission - whatever that ought to be - had started. "Here," she said, thrusting one at Hepta, "get it on, quick." She struggled into her own suit, but noticed a few malfunctions.
"Great," she muttered, thowing it aside, "no suit or a malfunctioning suit makes no difference."

Right after Lieutenant Leavitt had given the report of the ship status he added. "It seems internal sensors are offline as well." Nephi nodded, Leavitt continued "So i can't tell more on the module's status for now."
Nephi turned to Fox. "Take some security officers with you and go inspect the decks." "Aye." Fox replied and walked from behind his console. His station was immediately taken by another science officer.
Fox tabbed his comm-badge as he entered the turbolift. "Security, meet me on deck 20." "Aye, sir." came the reply as the doors of the lift closed behind him. Not much later he stepped out the lift again and saw two security officers waiting for him.
He explained they were going to inspect the module from bottom, deck 20, to the top, deck 12. They started walking walking throught the corridors of deck 20 with their tricoders in their hands, finally ending up at the turbolift again.
They worked their way up to deck 16 like that. There near the hull of where the sensor array would be positioned they noticed some sparking surcuits. Fox made a notice on a pad he had taken with him and walked with the officers to main engineering. There he have the pad to Alma. "This might be one of the causes out sensors out offline." he added. Alma nodded in responce "We'll have a look at it."
On their way to walk out of engineering again Fox added "I'll let you know when we find something else." The three continued to deck 15, where nothing odd was found. After which they visited deck 14.
On entering the shuttlebay Fox turned around and looked at the 2 security officers. "Shouldn't there be two shuttle here?" they both nodded. Immediately Fox tabbed his comm-badge.
"Fox to Jacobson."
"Go ahead, Commander." Nephi replied.
"We're in shuttlebay 5 at the moment, everything looks fine, but the shuttle Thunderhawk isn't in here. Can OPS verify in the logs if there have been some shuttle flights?" Fox continued.
On the bridge Nephi looked at Vasati, who nodded "I can check." she responded.
"Thats odd." Nephi replied "Vasati, is checking the logs now."
Little later Vasati was done looking through the flight control logs and spoke to Nephi. "Sir, the logs indicate that none of the shuttles left the module." Nephi nodded and spoke to Fox again.
"Thank you for this information, but we'll have to look into it later, first we have some systems to bring online again and get to the other modules. You can continue your inspection."
With that the comm links was closed again and Fox and the two security officers walked out of the shuttlebay again continueing their inspection, moving up to deck 12 to the Tertiary bridge.

Confident... confident... yes she was definitely confident she could do the job. The fact that she didn't enjoy it that much didn't mean that she hadn't worked hard to get it right. A few moments later she was glad that she did.
Self-doubt was not an option, no time to question her judgement. Lucy rattled off the information in front of her. "Torpedoes are ready whenever you need, but we don't have the power for phasers. I'm trying to get you as much power as possible."
She remembered a trick that her mother had taught her a few years back. *I really hope this works on these systems*
After entering the command sequence there wasn't much she could do but stand back and wait. Which was lucky really, because a few seconds later she had to.
In the chaos that followed she started to panic for the first time in a long while. As she stepped into her environmental suit, Lucy started to panic even more. Where was Sam? No one knew he was on board, and the chances of him being found by accident were slim.
The Ops console started beeping, so she glanced over. It had worked... sort of. "Commodore, I managed to get enough power to phasers for a few short bursts."
"How?" Sonak looked amazed.
Lucy blushed, "Umm, I'm not really supposed to tell you." The look on her face conveyed enough information to stop any further enquiries.
Leaving Sonak to decide how she wanted to use the weapons, the young Miss Kanz started talking to the computer.
Knowing exactly which conditions to search for meant that she hit the jackpot very quickly. Unfortunately any attempt at contacting her friend was unsuccessful, so she instructed a medical team to go to his location.
Lucy turned round and saw a few people looking at her, she didn't care. Once the situation had calmed down she would report the five stowaways, but right now everyone had more important things to think about.

(OOC: Posting for multiple perspectives here)
-----------------------------Minerva Engineering----------------------------
"Engineering, now would be a good time to get our warp engines back online, and our shields!"
Sarah looked around in frustration. "I'm sorry, Commodore, but both are still damaged. It'll be hours before I can get either online."
She started to cross the room to work on the shields, but was knocked to the floor as the ship rocked from a phaser blast.
Minutes later, life support was feeling. "Oh joy," Sarah said, reading the output about the problem. "Everyone in environmental suits NOW!" And she went for her own. Doing repairs in suits was many times harder.
----------------------------Discordia Engineering-----------------------------
Alma went over personally to investigate the power problem with the sensors. He would be very happy if it indeed was just a simple power supply problem with the sensors. That was easy to fix.
As he reached the corridor, a burst of sparks came from an exposed console. That must be it, he thought to himself. He reached it, and started to inspect it, but had to duck and cover quickly to avoid getting burned as sparks issued forth once more.
Once they had ceased a moment later, he stood and scanned it with a tricorder. Relieved at the simple problem, he tapped his comm-badge. "Grant to Bridge. I've discovered that fortunately our sensor problem is merely due to short circuits in the power flow to it. I should have it fixed in an hour.
"That's good news, Alma. Get started," Nephi replied from the other end.
-------------------------Bridge, One Hour Later----------------------
"Sir," Leavitts called from his station, "long-range sensors just came back online."
"Excellent," Nephi replied. "Scan for the other modules, and give me whatever information you can on status."
The CTSO worked the console several seconds, then said, "Mercury is heading in our general direction at arp 6. Minerva however appears to be adrift, with a Cardassian warship close by. They're badly damaged, sir."
"Bridge to Engineering. Alma, how fast can we safely go?"
"No more than Warp 6.5, sir," the CEO responded.
"Helm, increase speed to Warp 6.5, and alter heading to intercept Minerva. Engineering, I need weapons online as soon as possible."

"That soon? Good, then we can finally pick up from snail's pace. Kanz out."
L'Ola sat down in the command chair and flicked through the information in front of her. Hopefully once warp drive was fixed and they found the other modules they'd be told what was going on.
Katia was stood at the science station, still searching for anything out of the ordinary, when she noticed her friend turning even paler than usual. "Commander, is something wrong?"
The first officer looked up, as if she had just been snapped out of a trance. "Never, she hasn't done that since I met her... Commander Jared, is there any chance of finding out what's happening on Minerva?" Without waiting for an answer she turned to Katia, "Nothing's wrong here, but I have never known Lucy to get scared before..."

Jared turned as he heard someone ask Kanz if something was wrong; it was good to know after all if one's captain was about to die.
'Never, she hasn't done that since I met her' No Betazoid could mistake that sort of phrase; like Vulcans, when one was in deep distress then they'd transmit it. Unlike Vulcans it wasn't a just to their bondmate but like a telepathic call for help to any nearby relative or close one. Sometimes if the distress was great enough, it could be heard by any nearby Betazoid. 'Commander Jared, is there any chance of finding out what's happening on Minerva?'
'Bridge to engineering, is there any chance of having long range sensors back online soon?' he asked 'Not if you want warp' was the curt reply So much for sensors. Jared left his post and sidled up to Kanz's chair. 'Can't you ask your daughter?' he whispered 'I don't know how' 'It might be possible for you to learn' 'How?' 'Just because I can't do it doesn't mean I don't know how to do it. It generally takes longer to learn, but the connection is open the other end, which makes things easier. The other option is that I take anyone with any engineering skill and we try to fix the sensors ourselves' <tag Kanz>

As they drew nearer to Minerva, there was a call from Engineering. "Engineering to Bridge. You should have partial weapons now, sir. Phasers are at 50%."
"Acknowledged, Engineering. Good work," Nephi said, and closed the comm circuit. "Distance to Minerva?"
"One billion kilometers, sir," came the reply from Tactical. "Main power is down, life support is offline. I'm reading multiple hull breaches, and there is a Cardassian warship 10,000 kilometers away."
"Helm, bring us out of Warp. Tactical, raise shields and go to Red Alert. Are our communications still down?"
"Yes, sir," replied Lt. Vasati.
"Status of the Cardassian weapons?" he asked.
"They're charged, sir."
"Fire a warning shot at the Cardassians. Just graze them. That ought to get their attention," he ordered.
With that, the red phaser beam lashed out, hitting the Cardassians shields.

It had been several minutes since Lucy miraculously had managed to get minimal firepower to the phasers. Sonak was now wondering why it took so long for emergency power to kick in. The module was still under heavy weapons fire from the Cardassians, and the hull was under a lot of stress.
At some point, the Vulcan commodore even imagined she could hear the hull creaking, and feared that it would break apart. She floated around the bridge, now starting to suffer the effects from the thinning air. ~at least my crew is safe in their suits~ she pondered, and looked around to find Hepta. He gave her a thumbs up when their gazes locked, and she gave him a weak smile. ~and the admiral seems to be in good spirits at last. Perhaps this is just what the doctor ordered for him, a little bit of excitement~
Just then ilumination on the bridge brightened, almost to the point where it blinded the staff, and gravity kicked back in. With a grunt, she landed on the deck, and from the sounds around her she gathered the same had happened to the crew. Her head was spinning, but she gratefully breathed deeply as the air supply on the bridge was also increasing.
She had just helped Hepta out of his suit when several columns of light appeared on the bridge, taking the shape of armed Cardassians.

"We have them where we want them!" Gul Ra shouted to his crew.
The Keldon class heavy cruiser made it's way towards the damaged module section of the Vesuvius.
"Have my away team meet me in the transporter room." Gul Ra shouted as he got up from his chair.
"Sir another ship is approaching."
"Take care of them once we have boarded this ship." Gul Ra replied before leaving the bridge.
Gul Ra met his team in the transporter room. He entered with a Cardassian disruptor in his belt holster and several blades attached to the inside parts of forearms.
"Set all weapons to kill." Gul Ra announced, "I want the Captain alive though."
Gul Ra stepped onto transporter pads followed by his personal away team. Gul Ra was very pleased with how quickly they responded to his quick order to board the ship.
"Sir, they have just regained gravity."
"Now!" Gul Ra yelled to the transporter operator.
Instantly they were transported to the bridge on the Minerva. When they got there they noticed all of the officers had fallen to the ground after regaining gravity control back. Gul Ra stood over the lone female who was not wearing a environmental suit.
Standing over her Gul Ra spoke, "Hello Captain," he paused to look around the bridge, "Nice ship you have here."
