The Captain was about to brief the new First Officer of how to proceed with the current mission, when the viewscreen nearest to him indicated an encoded message was incoming. Nack answered the call.
"Captain, a Mr. Wrong.. no - Wong.. wants to talk with you. He says it's important."
Nikalia Hurried herself over the screen, and talked to her marine. Nack only knew he was a marine by the way the Captain addressed him.
While the Captain was speaking to Wong, Commander Matthew came in, reintroducing himself. "Well, hello, again. I guess we did skip past formalities earlier in passing when we met. You are my Chief Engineering Officer, correct?" Mr. Matthew shook his head in the negative. "Uh... Ops! that's it. I apologize. There is so much to learn here!"
The Chief Operations Officer was being thoughtful, and checking in before he went off duty. "I don't see any immediate reason to stay on the bridge, Commander." Nack said, liking how official his inflections were becoming. "I'll send you a communique if there is anything the Captain needs. From the sound of it, it seems we may be going into some sort of action relatively soon. I suggest you get some rest, since it is your time off."
Matthew left. Captain Cir'Kem was still transmitting orders to the Marine, shouting when the the screen pixelated due to subspace interference. Nack waited patiently for her to finish, trying to take in everything she said... so that less questions would have to be asked later.

Nika rubbed her eyes with her hand. Rambling people were difficult to understand, and it seemed to become exponentially more difficult when they were drunk. Fortunately she didn't need to understand all of it perfectly, and Marine Captain Wong became more coherent as the subject matternk grew more important. "If those 2500 rifles that we deliberately dislabled aren't un-disabled by tommorrow we're all going to get shot. Given this I would like to request that given we have met the upper echelons of the organisation, that we progress from intelligence gathering to seizing them, and consequently allowing us to end up not dead"
“Alright.” Nika hoped she understood what Marine Captain Wong had said, since she was fairly sure he was making up some words as he went along, as well as simple mispronunciation. “Have you gathered enough information to justify such arrests at this point?” Nika hoped she would continue to get more-or-less coherent answers out of Wong.
Marine Captain had explained his plan fully and was asking permission to proceed with that plan when, as far as Nika could tell, he fell unconscious. “Lieutenant Youngblood?” she asked through Marine Captain Wong's communicator. “Are you there?”
<Tag Yahnie>
“Excellent.” Nika was pleased to see that Wong appeared to be the only drunk one, it portrayed more of a feeling of responsibility to her. And it meant there was someone she could give orders to who would understand them.
“The plan was for Marine Captain Wong to contact the ship over the priority two channel when you've seen and recorded the Cardassians' confirmation that they are willing to purchase arms. However, given his...current condition. I'm not sure he'll remember everything. So do you understand the plan?” Nika asked.

=/\= Computer, what is the status of the short distance sensor arrays =/\=
~/\~ Short term sensor arrays are operating outside of normal parameters. ~/\~
Nack pounded his fist on the table. The last part of the Captain's transmission may not have gotten through to Yahnie. Sure, Wong heard everything... but how trustworthy was he in a drunken state? Commander Nack was unsure if the drunkenness was necessary for his disguise, but he was going to be sure to get an explanation out of the marine by the close of this mission.
=/\= Commander Nack to Commander Matthew =/\=
A groggy officer answered the page.
=/\= We are going to need you back on the bridge. We had a malfunction out here, and its urgent to know if a particular transmission made it out. =/\=
Matthew acknowledged, and Nack went over to the console, which showed a black screen with a signal error message across it.
His pacing was starting to drive his Captain nervous, and Nack picked up on this. He excused himself to the bridge where he awaited Matthew's return.

Lt. Youngblood brought up the rear as they descended down to the lower level of the city. These Cardassians are in with a black market ring that their government may not know about thought Yahnie as they were led through a door. As they entered the room Yahnie just slowly walked around checking things out. It looked like they have been collecting a lot of different kinds of weapons and material. Yahnie was listening to the conversation between the dealer and Tiberian as they spoke the final words Yahnie did follow like he did before. They made their way back to the boarding house. As they arrived at the boarding house and in their rooms Captain Wong contacted the Captain. Lt. Youngblood picked up Captain Wong’s communicator as he collapsed. “Yes Ma’am, Lt. Youngblood replied. Captain Wong believes the rifles are defective and we are supposed to meet tomorrow, but it does seem to me we are very out numbered.” “I must apologize about Capt. Wong’s condition, in order for him to get the information to you. He had to do what he did in order to get the information but myself and private Nnakir are ok. We will proceed with the plan and arrest the ones that are responsible.” Younblood out. After talking with the Captain and since Captain Wong is passed out. Yahnie spoke to the private that was with them “Private stay here and see that Captain Wong gets sober. I will try and see if I can locate the arms dealer and their leader to speed up the process. After Captain Wong wakes and sober let him know what I am doing. Lt. Youngblood proceeded out the door and the boarding house.

Wong regained consciousness at some point during the night. He stood unsteadily, the alcohol still coursing through his veins. He stumbled towards the door, determined to see Youngblood or Nnakir and ascertain what had happened. He moved through the door before tripping over his own feet and flailing his arms wildly to regain his balance. As he fell about, he managed to turn around, and stumbled back into his own room. He looked around, shocked that he had managed to get back into his room: "Bloody revolving doors" He muttered to himself as he staggered back to his bed. He awoke the next morning with Nnakir patting his forehead with a cold, damp cloth. He tried to speak, but his mouth was so badly dehydrated he was lucky to have emitted the gagging noise that he did. Nnakir fetched him a steaming cup from his bedside table and proffered it to him, Tiberian accepting it gladly and gulping down the contents. He had foolishly been expecting coffee, and so was slightly taken aback by the taste of hot fish juice. He shrugged, he'd drunk worse, he thought as he finished the mug and put it back on the table. He swung his legs over the side of the bed, knocking away Nnakir's hand as he went: "I've got a mouth like Ghandi's flip flop, but my head's fine" He said as he kuckled his eyes, bringing himself into an instant state of battle readiness "Where's Youngblood, and what happened to our friend?" Tiberian asked suddenly, leaping to his feet and retrieving his phaser from the table. "He's gone to try and find the arms dealer and hurry the process along" Nnakir informed him, once again advancing on him with the cloth. Tiberian dodged around her, having recovered surprisingly well from the alcohol. "Good luck to him" Tiberian laughed "Dalsan had more of a skin full than I did. If Youngblood can rouse him, he deserves a medal" Tiberian washed and armed himself as Nnakir did likewise. Emerging from Tiberian's room they saw Youngblood walking towards them, leading a somewhat bedraggled Dalsan by the arm. Nnakir shot Tiberian a sidewards smirk with raised eyebrows. Tiberian sighed. "Alright, alright, I'll nominate him for a medal" he answered her smirk, a smile twitching at the corner of his lips. He turned to face Dalsan, slapping him on the back. Dalsan nearly doubled over, looking as if he were about to vomit. "Morning my friend" Tiberian said loudly, ignoring Dalsan's plight "Ready to go?" Dalsan straightened up, refusing to appear weak. "Whenever you are" came the reply. They exited the boarding house.
~Half an hour later~
Dalsan was wandering around the compund for the last time, his scanner waving wildly in the air. The compound had been poorly defended as promised, and Tiberian and Youngblood had only had to stun one guard each in order to gain access. Tiberian and the others leaned, as if bored, on one of the few hundred crates of weapons stocked in the facility. "Satisfied yet" Tiberian shouted. "Everything is alright so far" Dalsan said, pocketing his scanner "But that is only so far" He moved to one side of the compund and withdrew a communicator, relaying a message to his father. At the same time Tiberian drew his own communicator behind his back and began modulating it to the necessary frequency. He pinned it to the inside of his waist band. "When it hits the fan" Tiberian whispered to Nnakir, his eyes never leaving Dalsan "You get up to that gantry and create a cross fire. Stop them getting to the door just long enough for marines and security to get in" He smiled as she nodded to him "Youngblood, I need you to get over to that control junction" He nodded in the appropriate direction "Blow out the door controls and erect a communicator jamming signal so that they can't comm for a beam out" He was interrupted by the arrival of the senior members of Kriyet lox Hint plus bodyguards. More than a dozen men filed in, assuming a semi circle in the centre of the floor. As the door closed behind them, Tiberian tapped his communicator, hoping that the Captain's assault team had begun landing, and stepped forwards. "Are we ready to do business gentlemen?" He asked. "Do you have all the weapons here?" One nervous looking man asked. "Of course he does. Or at least he better had" the boss answered "He has agreed to sell them all to us. Now, let's see them" But Tiberian smiled all the wider, he withdrew his scanner, which had been set to audio recording, and his phaser. "Not today" He said, losing his accent and reverting to his real marine voice "I am Marine Captain Tiberian Wong, USS Victory, and the Federation is placing you under arrest for violating the articles of the Treaty of Bajor, as well as Cardassian civil laws. Surrender and you may be shown mercy" He levelled his phaser and nodded to his people who ran to their positions. He stood, for a split second, waiting for the Captain's landing party. Then all hell broke loose.

"Make it so, Commander."
The yellow alert signals flashed in typical fashion, making no sound.
"Keep searching for the location of the power disruption."
Unfortunately, with shields raised, nobody was going to be able to beam down to the surface- and until Commander Nack could ascertain what... or who... caused the power disruption, he was not willing to risk the Captain's, or any other crew-member's, life. This was the first time that his Command actually meant something. Everything was going to be by the book, or as close to it as possible. Of course, had Nack actually read the book in its entirety, instead of spending time sharpening his teeth in anticipation for his arrival, he might have been able to keep his convictions true.
"I will go alert the Captain of the problem."
Too late- the Captain appeared from her ready room, questioning the cause of the yellow alert. Nack explained, hoping to receive some sort of guidance. He had assumed the role of First Officer at a critical time, he thought. It probably wasn't a good time to start playing Maverick.

Nika didn't receive a reply from Lieutenant Youngblood, and Commander Nack informed Nika the transmission may have been cut before she got her message through. She would have to assume the plan stood as it they had left it, since all indications were that her message had gotten through.
The night was spent tensely preparing for the transmission that would send the away team and herself down to the surface to help in the final arrest of Kriyet lox Hint members. At least, that was what Nika spent most of her time doing, but she was surprised that she hadn't seen Commander Nack yet. She would have thought that he would try to talk her out of going to the surface.
Nika would even have been willing to compromise on the issue, but Nack hadn't showed up to argue yet, so Nika certainly wasn't going to push the point. She did wonder a little what he was doing. Apparently causing trouble, Nika thought, as the yellow lights started to flash. At least the yellow alert didn't include sound, since otherwise Nika would have gained a headache.
She looked for Nack, as the comm signal to beam down was activated and the situation became urgent, and he explained the situation. Nika held up her right hand for a moment, requesting silence. “Turn off the bridge warning lights for the yellow alert,” she ordered.
A moment later, after that order had been fulfilled, Nika issued another one. “Get me Gul Madre on the comm channel.”
Nika adjusted her collar and tried to look her most formal and intimidating. “Captain, how can I help you?” Gul Madre asked, the formerly star-filled viewscreen coalescing into his visage.
“What's the absolute soonest you can get some of your troops to this location,” Nika said, sending Gul Madre the location.
“Five minutes.”
“That's not soon enough.” Nika said.
Gul Madre opened his mouth to object, but Nika signaled the viewscreen to be cut. “Can you lower the shields?” Nika asked Nack. “For just a moment, to allow the marine contingent to beam down?”

"I suppose we can..." Nack said, looking at Commander Matthew, who in turn, had nobody to look at, thus the responsibility fell on him.
The yellow alert signal cleared. "It will probably take the Commander a few minutes. We've been having some interference from the surface, and our shield relays have been fused" Commander Nack filled the Captain in on the evening's search for the source. "Of course, you just made a transmission... which means that our communications aren't being blocked right now." Both Nack and Matthew's were confused.
"Commander Matthews, when the shields are able to go down, let me know. I will be beaming down in place of the Captain." Nack purposefully kept his eyes on the console in front of him, afraid to look up for the Captain's inevitable response.

Yahnie went over to Dalsan and said “You’re coming with me, were going to find that arms dealer and try to get to his leader. Dalsan and Yahnie were walking down the hall leading Dalsan by the arm and he was dragging his reluctant to go with Yahnie made it harder to bring him along. Yahnie saw Private Nnakir and Captain Wong. “Good morning” Captain, Private replied Yahnie. “I’m glad to see you both up and around.” Yahnie looked at Captain Wong and said “Sir, You don’t look so good maybe you ought to stay here and let us handle this?” We do need to get to the head person involved as soon as possible. The four of them exit the boarding house and down to the streets, quietly they moved along the wall Yahnie took out his phaser and stunned one of the guards as he turned to get the other guard, Private Nnakir had already got the other. After the guards were out of the way Dalsan made his way into the compound scanning. The captain order us to set up a cross fire to stop them from getting to the door. Younblood did what the Captain said he aimed his phaser at the control junction waited for the orders to fire. As soon as Yahnie was in position Captain Wong gave the order and Yahnie fired at the control junction. Blow out the door controls and erect a communicator jamming signal so that they can't comm for a beam out. Said Captain Wong. We were interrupted by Kriyet lox Hint plus bodyguards. Yahnie thought to himself this is a great opportunity to get at the leader. But Tiberian smiled all the wider, he withdrew his scanner, which had been set to audio recording, and his phaser. "I am Marine Ist Lieutenant Tiberian Wong, USS Victory, and the Federation is placing you under arrest for violating the articles of the Treaty of Bajor, as well as Cardassian civil laws. As the firing began, Tiberian ran from left to right, giving covering fire to Nnakir who was climbing the ladder to the gantry. Youngblood had shot out the door controls, preventing the few Cardassians who did not seem to want to stay and fight from fleeing out of the door. Nnakir had reached the gantry and was sheltering herself behind a console, raising herself to fire as and when she could. From his standing position Tiberian felled two Cardassians before crouching behind a case of phaser rifles whilst phaser blasts hummed overhead. Looking to his left he saw Youngblood had made a good job of taking care of some of the bodyguards, before the Cardassians took shelter, sporadically returning fire. "Captain. The body guards are disarmed can you contact the Captain for backup.” Youngblood called out to Tiberian over the weapons fire. "Really Mr Youngblood" Tiberian shouted back sarcastically "You know I'd never thought of that" He shook his head as he returned fire on the Cardassians, more at his own short temper than at Youngblood's obvious comment. He tapped his comm badge. "Wong to Victory, please respond" He heard only crackling static "Come in Victory" It suddenly hit him, Youngblood had established a communication jamming field. "Mr Youngblood" He shouted as he turned to fire once more "Drop the jamming field around my position" He saw Youngblood work the remnants of the console furiously, eventually giving him the thumbs up. Tiberian hit his comm badge again. "Wong to Victory, please respond" "Victory here" came the same unfamiliar voice that Tiberian remembered frim the previous night. He knew the voice was a new officer, but couldn't quite remember what position he had filled. Anyway, he assumed (wrongly) that whoever it was must be a junior officer who had no idea of the situation. Tiberian ploughed ahead as he continued to exchange fire. "Where the hell are my bloody marines?" he shouted "The Captain promised us support when we sent a distress signal, and that was nearly five minutes. So where is the goddamn landing party" He was bellowing furiously now as he, Youngblood and Nnakir dodged the phaser blasts coming their way. "We've had some sort of disturbance from the surface" the voice continued, far too calmly and matter-of-factly for Tiberian's liking "We've had to raise shields and go to yellow alert. The shield grid is fused, but we're repairing it. Reinforcements will arrive as soon as it is feasible, you'll have to hold on until that time" Tiberian's anger at the calm officer boiled over dramatically, but the loud obscenity he bellowed down the comm link was drowned out in the warehouse by a sudden scream from Nnakir on the gantry. Tiberian looked up to see her fall backwards from her crouched position, clutching a phaser hit to her stomach. He scanned the room quickly to see Dalsan, standing in the safety of an alcove, phaser aloft and a grin on his face. Tiberian leapt from his hiding place, firing shot after shot at Dalsan's position, but each one missing as the Cardassian retreated into the cover of the alcove. He climbed the ladder to Nnakir's position whilst Youngblood bravely stepped forward to give covering fire. He reached Nnakir's position to find her barely conscious and breathing heavily, a sever phaser wound covering her abdomen. As Tiberian rose to fire, Youngblood moved back behind his barricade, allowing Tiberian to drop down by Nnakir's side. "Sorry sir" she muttered through a cough that expelled particles of blood from her mouth. "Don't be stupid sergeant" Tiberian answered as he removed and pressed his jacket to her wound, seeing her smile when he addressed her by her new rank "You just hang in there, you hear me marine, you don't die until I order you to. Get me" "Oorah, sir" she muttered faintly as she struggled to retain consciousness. Tiberian moved into a position where he could continue laying down fire, and then snatched up his active comm link. "Now listen here, you little E-1 pri..." he stopped himself from venting his anger, and focused on getting his men out of here "Just get me the Captain, NOW!" A short moment transpired. "Yes" The Captain sounded both tired and exasperated. "Look ma'am, with all due respect" Tiberian yelled in between shots "I will do your crew assessments for a month, I will scrub out the plasma manifolds, I'll even cook you dinner with my own fair hands, but I have wounded people here, and they're my priority, not the bloody engineers who are trying to fix the shields. I need marines down here, and I need them now, ma'am. Wong out" He closed the comm link and crawled to Nnakir's side. She was fading fast.

“I will be beaming down in place of the Captain.” Nack said. Nika glanced at Nack, not believing he would choose now, of all possible times, to object. But if she were to refute him that would take time, precious time. And besides, Nika never enjoyed arguing.
“Fine, do so,” Nika replied. “But I hope you've studied the procedure for once you're planet-side.” She had, after all, spent most of the night drafting and revising and going over that procedure with the marines. She would hate to see her new first officer disregard a plan completely.
Nack didn't reply because he got caught up in a conversation with Marine Captain Wong. The commlink was, however, quickly transferred to her, and she understood what Wong was saying. "But I have wounded people here, and they're my priority, not the bloody engineers who are trying to fix the shields. I need marines down here, and I need them now, ma'am. Wong out"
Nika didn't get a chance to reply to Wong before he closed the commchannel, but it didn't really matter, since she wouldn't have known what to say. She had been taught that agreement was implied, and that if you spoke that meant the agreement didn't exist.
“If you're going, go now!” Nika snapped at Nack, letting her voice carry the anxiety and worry she felt for the people below.

Perhaps it was because of how easy the Captain relented that he was caught off guard. Nack paid little attention to the Marine Captain. He had the luxury of dealing with that later, when not overcome by events.
“If you're going, go now!” echoed through his head.
"Are the shields ready," Nack asked Commander Matthew. He knew the shields were ready. He was stalling. He had read through the Captain's plans while she was on the horn with Marine Captain Wong. -- "Marine Captain Wong... boy is he going to get it."-- He had not, however, committed it to memory. Relying on his good improvisation skills, he told the Captain otherwise. "I am prepared"
The ranking marine officer communiqued that his squad was ready.
"Make it so." Nack said in the direction of the Ops station. He was beamed to the transporter room, and in turn, the group was beamed to the surface.
On the surface Nack assessed the situation. Weapons were discharging, mainly from the Victory's crew. It seemed the engaged enemy were only firing to gain a defensive posture.
"HOLD YOUR FIRE." Nack exclaimed. Everyone stopped. Everyone but Marine Captain Wong, that is. In his defense, he did not know who this new officer was, nor that he was outranked. His defense would carry little weight during debrief.
Eventually the shooting stopped. Nack yelled to Wong. "Where is Lieutenant Youngblood?" That was one of the names Nack had remembered in the Captain's material. He was supposed to be here too! Perhaps he was out of view.
Half of the marine squad that had beamed down with Nack took a defensive posture, making their way to Marine Captain Wong.
=/\= Commander Nack to Captain Cir'Kem=/\=
The Captain never replied. "AGAIN!" Nack slammed his combadge on the ground, then, embarrassed, picked it back up and attached it back to his uniform. Hopefully Commander Matthew was getting to the bottom of the problem.
With Wong holding a woman, clearly injured, Nack went to help. He had just given up his Medical position to gain this one, but lo-and-behold, he was practicing medicine yet again. The woman was losing consciousness fast. The Marine squad had a med-kit, but it was old, and rugged. It would have to do. Nack did his best to stop the loss of blood and quicken dermal regeneration, but she was fading fast. Without the benefit of a sickbay, she was going to die. Nack did not say this, but his eyes had the apologetic tone everyone understood.

Tiberian heard the hum of a transporter beam split seconds before he saw his men rematerialise in the cover of some crates, led by an unfamiliar Starfleet officer. The officer seemed to do very little for the first few moments he was there, and Tiberian could visibly see his marines rancour at being stood still whilst their comrades were in danger. "HOLD YOUR FIRE." a cry eventually went out from the officer. Idiot, Tiberian thought as he continued laying down fire irrespective of the order, ensuring that the Cardassians didn't take advantage of the situation. Why hadn't he charged with the marines and finished the job, Tiberian thought angrily, as he eventually holstered his phaser, satisfied that the Cardassians were not going to try anything. "Where is Lieutenant Youngblood?" the officer cried as he and the marines emerged from cover. "By the blast door power relays" Tiberian shouted back, annoyed he wasn't getting the help he thought he would be "Corporal T'lar, half the men to form up and cuff and guard the Cardys, now!" The Vulcan saluted and led his section off "Sergeant Major Martinez, your men to me" The Sergeant Major lead his men to the foot of the ladder leading to the gantry and began to climb, the Starfleet officer in tow. They reached Tiberian's position, where the Starfleet officer took over Nnakir's care. Despite his use of medical equipment, the officer wore command grade red, and Commander's pips. Then it all came flooding back to Tiberian. This was the new XO, the one who Tiberian had been shouting at during the last two comm barrages. Had he not been a marine, Tiberian would surely have cringed, but he wasn't even fazed, and was fully expectant of what was to come. He had done far worse to superior officers than insult them in the past. The officer stopped working, having seemingly done everything that he could. Tiberian knew what was coming just by the look in the man's eyes. He'd lost men in action before, but never a woman, despite the equal opportunities of the marines. He looked on helplessly as the marine faded, faded, and was gone. Tiberian crossed himself and leaned forwards to close the marines eyes. "Sergeant Sandy Nnakir died like a true marine. She died serving her unit, her ship, her shipmates, and the UFOP Marine Corps" He stood and led the men around him in a solemn salute. All the men were stoney faced, but behind the facade all of them were feeling the loss deeply. All of them probably more so than Tiberian who had known her properly only for the period of a few days, whereas the other enlisted personnel had known her for years. The sombre silence was suddenly broken by a derisive laugh from the lower level. Tiberian turned angrily to see Dalsan laughing at the marines on the gantry. "You are pathetic" he laughed at them "You think this will change anything?" "Get him out of my sight!" Tiberian shouted at a marine PFC on the ground who proceeded to wrassle Dalsan towards the door. This did not deter Dalsan however, who kept shouting back over his shoulder. "You've accomplished nothing, you know that don't you. We'll get extradited to Cardassia, and the courts here are so poor I don't even think we'll have to wait for a few meager months in prison before we're out and about again" he laughed and continued "It's a shame you know, that I had to shoot that woman. She looked pretty fine. She should have been doing `other` things on this planet, not fighting" he laughed raucously. Almost every marine in the compound moved towards him simultaneously, but a shout of "Halt" from Tiberian held them back. He called over his shoulder, his eyes never leaving Dalsan. "Commander, will you and Lieutenant Youngblood please take command of Corporal T'lar's section and leave the compound. The embassy is only a few minutes away from here, and I am sure you can get a comm signal there, or at least store the prisoners properly until they can be transferred to the Vic. I and Sergeant Major Martinez's section will join you shortly" Lieutenant Youngblood immediately took charge of the section, leading Corporal T'lar and the prisoners out of the compound through the reactivated door. The Commander may have made some noise or motion of question or annoyance, but Tiberian neither heard nor saw it, as his back was ever facing him. When the two Starfleet officers, the corporal's section and the prisoners they were guarding had left, Tiberian and the Sergeant Major's section descended from the gantry. Tiberian was glad to see that the PFC had had the good sense to retain the still grinning Dalsan in the building. Tiberian approached him. "Private Forrester, secure this man to the pillar behind him" The marine snapped to attention and roughly dragged Dalsan and then cuffed his hands behind his back, attaching him to the pillar. Dalsan was beginning to look worried, but all the marines understood what was going on and had no qualms about it. "What are you doing" Dalsan asked, a note of panic in his voice. Tiberian ignored him and turned to the Sergeant Major. "Two ranks, facing the prisoner" he said simply. "FORM TWO RANKS AT THE DOUBLE" Martinez bellowed as te marines formed up and snapped to attention. The Sergeant Major joined the front rank, whilst Tiberian joined the rear. "Front rank kneel" Tiberian called, sending the front rank down on one knee "Make ready" he called out, as all the marines checked their weapons, adjusting them to maximum setting. As a PFC handed Tiberian a Starfleet issue phaser, it suddenly dawned on Dalsan what was about to happen. "You can't do this!" he cried, struggling against his bonds "It's against the law!" "Present" Tiberian called, as all the marines levelled their weapons. "This is murder!" Dalsan made a last pleading attempt for his life. Tiberian looked at him. "Then I'll see you in hell. Fire" All the marines fired simultaneously, the force of the dozen or so combined phaser blasts shredding Dalsan to atoms. As both ranks placed their weapons on safety, Martinez shook his head. "Such a silly thing to have done. Trying to grab a weapon and kill us, forcing us to kill him when we were trying to take him into custody" Some of the marines laughed or smiled, Tiberian included, before they all nodded sagely, agreeing to this version of events. They collected Nnakir's body, with four of them carrying it carefully before they left the compound and double timed until they caught up with the column. The Commander turned round and began to ask a question. "What just happe..." he began before Tiberian cut him off. "Silly Cardy tried to attack us sir" Tiberian stated calmly "We had no choice but to shoot him" Despite the look of mingled disbelief and exasperation, Tiberian pressed on "I don't think we've been properly introduced sir. Marine Captain Tiberian Wong" And with that Tiberian pushed to the head of the column and began leading them back to the embassy.

Commander Nack was reluctant to leave, especially with the insubordinate marine being left to handle a possible diplomatic end to the struggle, but his orders were to end fighting and get to the embassy. It seemed his leaving was integral to that plan.
When the others caught up, Tiberian Wong introduced himself. Nack did not extend his hand. If he were to do so, he felt he may have extended his fist instead. Nack, being Ferengi, had a good sense about him when someone was lying, and this Wong was clearly lying. Nack, being a starfleet officer, also knew he had no proof as of yet, of his lying. The Dalsan matter would have to wait, there were more important matters at hand.
Nack let Wong lead back to the embassy. Nack's tricorder was giving a different directional reading than the direction the Marine was taking them, but he noticed the new way was out of sight of any surveillance. The marine clearly knew this territory.
Nack, after tweaking with his combadge, relayed a message through the embassy's main communication channel, masking it as background noise. Friendly or not, Nack was not about to involve the Cardassian government on this conversation. They would be contacted next.
Tiberian was standing off to the side, listening to the tidbits he could hear, of the lies - or so he would claim - that the Commander was telling the Captain.
=/\= ... Wong... | ... yes, he's dead....killed .... | ... suspect ... lying .... | ... yes Captain.... | ... Commander Nack out =/\=
Nack did not make eye contact with the marine purposefully. Part of him hoped his suspicions were correct, because it would prove his instincts were still sharp. For the sake of Starfleet, and the morality for which she stands for, however, Nack hoped his fears were unfounded.

Having returned to the Embassy, Tiberian had the marines escort the prisoners through the embassy's many corridors and down into a secure holding area in the lower basement of the compound. He had been loathe to leave Nnakir's body, but he trusted his men to see her right. He entered a spacious guard room, with a large adjoining cell capable of housing all the Cardassians. "In" he gestured with his phaser as the Cardassians trooped in one after another, their hands still behind their backs and bound in hadcuffs. Once the forcefield had been erected, Tiberian turned to his men. "Corporal T'lar, you and three men of your choice to remain here and guard the prisoners until we move or you are relieved, understood" T'lar snapped to attention and nodded his assent as Tiberian led the remainder of the guard back up onto the main level. It was still light out, and Tiberian could hear birdsong in the gardens of the compound. His melancholic musings were interrupted by Private Bob, an Andorian, proffering a marine knapsack at him. "It's got your uniform in sir" the private explained as Tiberian accepted the pack and opened it "I... we thought you might want to change... after what had gone on" Tiberian was almost lost for words, something that rarely happened when he was leading his men. "Thank you private" Tiberian said distractedly "I'm going to change. Continue about your duties" The marines snapped to attention and left, all except Sergeant Major Martinez who had remained, leaning casually against a pillar in the shade of the now setting sun. Tiberian barely mustered a smile. "You know me to well Jose" he said, informality ruling the day as he leaned besides his senior NCO "And we've only known each other what, a few months?" "Five months, three days" Martinez corrcted him with a smile. His black hair was streaked with grey and silver, and his stomach showed the faintest hint of middle age spread that would normally be associated with a man of fifty two "But who's counting" "How long did you know Nnakir?" Tiberian suddenly asked, almost throwing Martinez off balance. "Almost two years" he finally answered "Since I was a Master Gunny. She came in as a raw recruit, made PFC within the year. I was going to ask you for permission to make her a Lance Jack when you got back, but..." He sighed as his voice trailed off. "She made a good Sergeant" Tiberian whispered, as if to nobody. He straghtened up, determined to go and change "You do know the new XO doesn't believe us. There could be fallout" "You worry too much" Martnez said as he too straightened up, stretching his back "All the men respect you, as a friend as well as an officer. They'd lay down their lives for you. They won't sell you out" Tiberian couldn't help but smile. "He'll make our lives hell" he said to Martinez "But we're marines. So we don't have to take it lying down. Carry on Sergeant Major" They snapped to attention and exchanged salutes, before Tiberian turned on heel and entered a toilet, which he promptly sealed to obtain some privacy. There he changed from his civilians garb into his freshly laundered marines uniform. Then something broke within him. Unlike the men Tiberian had lost in battle before, this was a woman, something sweet, if not alltogether innocent, and something he'd failed to protect. He sank down to the floor and cried, holding back no emotion from himself now that he was alone. An age seemingly passed before he wiped his eyes and straightened up to observe himself in the mirror. He set his steely marine resolve for what was about to come, and wiping the last evidence of crying from his eyes, he stepped forth into the failing light. He walked swiftly to the main communication junction, where he logically guessed the Commander would be reporting the occurences, as well as his suspicions, to the Captain. On his way there he passed an open room, and in it saw the body of Nnakir layed on the table, a marine guard placed at each corner in true ceremonial honour for a fallen comrade. She had been re-dressed in her marine uniform, and it brought another sneaking tear to Tiberian's eye to catch a glint of Sergeant's chevrons on her collar. He pressed on, determined to pay his proper respects later, until he eventually found the Commander. From the broken conversation he heard, his suspicions were confirmed, the Commander had informed the Captain. This was further validated by the absence of the Commander's gaze as he walked past him. Tiberian sighed. What he had done had been right, even if it violated the letter of the law. All he could do now was face the consequences, and take whatever might come like a marine. But until then, he would still do his duty. Stepping in front of the Commander, he snapped to attention and saluted professionally. "Commander Nack, sir. Sir, seeing as you are the XO, I feel I should deliver my mission report to you, the most senior officer present, until I can present it to the Captain, sir"

Nika was not handling having had to stay behind on the ship well. She wasn't pacing, but that was only through a conscious acknowledgment that she shouldn't pace. The away team, according to the protocol, should have contacted her by now. Of course there were several good reasons why that wouldn't have happened. Nika tried not to think about the reasons that involved the Starfleet personnel being outnumbered or defeated. Maybe communication was just malfunctioning again. “Commander Matthew, can you check the status of the communication possibly get an engineering to fix it?” Nika asked, feeling kind of guilty about asking Commander Matthew to do this and missing having a Chief Engineer.
Just as she was starting to wonder what she should start doing next, some kind of message was relayed through the Cardassian Embassy. Nika would have let out a sigh of relief, but that was an unnatural custom, and would have been a waste of breath. =/\= ... Wong... | ... yes, he's dead....killed .... | ... suspect ... lying .... | ... yes Captain.... | ... Commander Nack out =/\= Nika attempted to glean enough from the conversation with Nack, and she was reassured to learn that the Starfleet officers were in control, and the commchannel was closed without much more going on there, since they weren't exactly on a secure channel. She didn't care at all for what she thought she was hearing from Commander Nack, especially as it pertained to Captain Wong, but that would have to be dealt with once she had a reliable line of communication.
With the bridge near-deserted, Nika found she couldn't exactly get a lot done from the Captain's chair. So, with a brief glance around to be sure that no replacement was heading for it, she walked over to the science console, which brought back a few sudden memories of her brief time on the Vesuvius, before she got to work. She was attempting an analysis, so they could figure out where the threat that had been fiddling with ship's systems had come from.
She would have gone to the tactical station, but someone had actually taken the console position over for Lieutenant Youngblood, who was down on Cardassia. Lieutenant Duchek was handling it, and working in close collaboration with Commander Matthew and herself. As far as they could tell, since the power surge hadn't been directed specifically at the Victory, it was less of a threat. But it was repetitive, which implied a deliberate attempt to do something not sanctioned by either the Cardassian government or the Federation.
“Commander Matthew, can you analyze the type and source of power that's being emitted?” Nika asked.

"Your New CEO"
After about 2 days of being in a shuttle he finally seen the USS. Victory-C. He was Extremely exited about the new ship although he realized he would have to read up on the Nebula class specifications a little. As he approached the ship he hailed the Victory.
"Hello USS. Victory this is Jebadia Shelby. I'm your new Chief Engineering Officer. I'd like it if you would help me fly into the Shuttle bay because I'm not the greatest pilot in the fleet. Wile I'm talking to you I'd like to just report in" Jeb stated nervously hoping not to make anybody mad.

OOC: A bit of NPCing.
The current navigations officer at the CONN turned to Commander Matthews. "He fell for the decoy. Go ahead and send him our real coordinates. I don't think we should risk a tractor beam."
The lieutenant was pretty proud of his maneuver. The ship's holographic arrays were projected outward, creating an optical illusion- almost a mirror reflection of the Victory. It only emitted a few hundred kilometers away, but it was enough to not give away their exact position. The new passenger, although expected, was not going to be privy of that information until security could verify his ship's signature.
When the ship was securely in the shuttle bay, the doors were closed. A security team was sent to the shuttle bay to meet the new engineering officer, and bring him to the bridge to be briefed. The Captain was indisposed of at the moment, but she will eventually want to speak to him.
"Until then," the security guard explained, "I was told you may explore the ship, under my supervision." He tapped his phaser at the thought of his current duty.
OOC: Please welcome, informally until his transfer goes through, Mr. Jebadia Shelby to the ship!

Scene Astrometrics Lab
“Cmdr Matthew entered the Astrometrics lab where the immense three dimensional map was all around him. Dr Sabot stood in the middle of the room, watching Cmdr Matthew as he came in.
“Before Cmdr Matthew could say anything, Dr Sabot stated, "Thank you for coming so quickly, Commander . I wouldn't have insisted on your presence if I didn't think it was important."
"Very well, Lieutenant. Go ahead."
"Well, Sir, I remember that you wanted me to trace the power surge Back to its original origin the signal came from this area a Heavily Dense Forest of Cardassia about 200 miles due North of Lakarian City”
“We Later went over the Probe sensors Data and, in one of sensor scans, found a hidden remote Time Control Command signal hidden in one of the ship standard Communiqué Between the Victory and the Cardassin Government it would appear they use the Government signal to piggyback a command code Virus to Activate the virus to over load some of the ship sensors and some of the ship Communications Grid “
"Matthew “Mmm."
"Commander when we rescan that same area 24 hours later, and guess what?
“That same Cardassian ship was in the same spot. I'm not talking the same orbit; the ship is in the same spot! Damn peculiar. I convinced Commander Nack to give me Permission to launch Another probe to look at it closer and the results are in. There are no life signs on the ship. Nothing."
Matthew was incredulous. "Are you sure?"
"Yes Sir!
“Cmdr Matthew tapped his comm. badge and turned his chin into it. "Matthew to Captain Cir'Kem "
“Cir'Kem here, Go A head Commander ’
“Cmdr Matthew” Captain .”I’m ready to Give you my status report on my way to the bridge .

Tiberian Wong's newfound respect for the Ferengi Commander was not only out of character, from what Nack had seen so far of the marine, but also out of place. It was now obvious something happened; Wong was acting strangely, and Nack was determined to get to the bottom of it.
Unfortunately, Nack's memory of the briefing from the Captain's padd was fading. This meant the marine was going to have to run the show. Nack never admitted his shortcoming, rather he used his position to pawn off the responsibility.
"Mr. Youngblood. I'm a relatively easy going Ferengi when it comes to respectable individuals." Nack purposefully did not look at Wong, but the obvious inflection and lack of acknowledgment spoke volumes to the tension existing between the marine and his first officer. ", why don't you alert the proper authorities here. Mr. Wong and I will be here guarding the prisoners?"
"Why didn't I take a padd with me?" Nack thought to himself. Instead, he was forced to play it by ear, pun not intended.
Left with Mr. Wong, Nack bit his tongue a few times he was about to start in on him. He had to show integrity, it was his job, now more than before. This was the first time, however, he had ever encountered someone he knew had abandoned Starfleet principles. Of course, his proof was nil. It was unlikely that his fellow marines would talk, either, which you didn't have to be a First Officer to understand. At any rate, he would pursue disciplinary action when they got back to the Victory. No sense in angering the marine now.
"Mr. Wong - while we wait for Yahna... Yahna? Yahnie... funny how that happens." Nack's attempt to cut the tension was too forced. It made the conversation more weird. " - well, why we wait," Nack let out a nervous chuckle, unsure if his motives of trying to ease his anger were compromised, " why did you become a Marine? The glory, honor, protecting your family? Do you have family, kids,?" Nack asked so many questions, Wong didn't even know where to begin.

Tiberian bristled at the mild insult, as Youngbloodwent off to report to the Cardassian liason, but pushed it aside as inconsequential. Revenge had been taken, honour was satisfied, and he would be buggered if he was dishonourably discharged over killing some Cardy scum who had it coming to him. As such he would behave like a proper marine to the letter in front of the XO, but beyond that he knew he couldn't trust him to let sleeping dogs lie. In the silence that followed Youngblood's departure, Tiberian visibly saw the Commander bite and re-bite his lip, undoubtedly thinking of some way to break the silence. This caused a momentary gasp of weakness on Tiberian's part, as he allowed a smile to creep over his face, displacing his stony faced discipline for a fraction of a second. Finally, the Commander spoke. "Mr. Wong - while we wait for Yahna... Yahna? Yahnie... funny how that happens." The Commander's poor attempt at an icebreaker was mildly ammusing to Tiberian, although at the same time it made him suddenly aware of how the Commander could be trying to lull him into a false sense of security him . " - well, why we wait," The Commander laughed nervously, putting Tiberian more on his guard, " why did you become a Marine? The glory, honor, protecting your family? Do you have family, kids,?" Nack asked so many questions, Tiberian didn't even know where to begin. He'd been used to people trying to wrongfoot him in a combat situation, but never whilst making polite conversation. Clearly this Commander was devious, and he wouldn't ask such questions unless it gave him a tactical advantage. "Sir" Tiberian came to attention again after a momentary pause, and continued in his true and loud marine manner "I joined the UFOP Marine Corps to serve the Federation, to protect her from threats both foreign and domestic, to ensure the safety, liberty and sovereignty of all peoples therein, to both maintain and expand on the Federation's borders and members, and, if necessary, to have the honour of laying down my life for the greater good of the noble Federation, its allies and the betterment of all peoples, sir" Tiberian maintained his attention and saw the Commander slightly taken aback as he struggled to digest what he had just bellowed at him in the space of less than fifteen seconds. Not even hesitating to see if the Commander wished to interject something, Tiberian pressed on. "Sir, in response to your other questions I have both my parents and three other siblings. As of yet I am unmarried, not in any form of long term relationship, and father to no children, sir" Tiberian thought he had answered straightly and simply, giving away no potential weakness. Tiberian was sorely tempted to push the Commander with questions along a similar line, but thought better of it. It was at that precise moment that he suddenly realised how uncomfortable he felt, not because of the XO being in the vicinity, but because he had only just realised he still wore the artificial skin grafted onto him for the mission. He reolved to return to the ship as soon as possible and rectify this. He saluted the Commander. "Sir, with you permission I would like to procure a shuttle from the Cardassian authorities to get us back to the Vic. To be truthful, I would like to get out of this skin, sir"
<TAG Commander Nack>
"Yes Sir" Tiberian replied once the COmmander had given his assent "I'll see to it immediately sir" Tiberian turned on heel and walked back in to the centre of the embassy. A few moments into his travels he caught sight of Youngblood shaking hands with, and then leaving a Cardassian man in a small side office. As Youngblood left, Tiberian approached the man and saluted. The Cardassian was undoubtedly surprised to find a (supposedly) fellow Cardassian wearing a Starfleet uniform and saluting him, but Tiberian made no point of explaining. "Sir, I am Marine Captain Wong with the USS Victory. I am here to enquire as to whether or not you have any shuttles for use by the embassy" "Wha...er...yes" the Cardassian replied, undoubtedly still somewhat fazed "We have a 20 man capacity transport shuttle as well several smaller..." Tiberian interjected at this point, now knowing what he needed to. "Thank You" he interrupted "I would appreciate it if you could make the 20 man transport available to us within the hour, it is imperative we return to our vessel, given that our comm array is seemingly down" Tiberian turned on heel and left, leaving the perplexed Cardassian to do as he had been asked to.
~Roughly Thirty Minutes later~ The varied crew of Starfleet and marines paced he shuttle that was being piloted to the Vic by one of the highly inexperienced marine pilots in Tiberian's company. From the looks of at least half of the people present, things would be better once they were back on solid ground. As they passed through the ionosphere, Tiberian began hailing the Victory. "USS Victory this is Embassy Transport Kappa 231 carrying Marine Team Delta. Request permission to come aboard" Moments later a transmission was returned, informing the transport that they could come aboard, but at co-ordinates different to those being given to them by their sensors. Shrugging it off as necessary, Tiberian ordered the pilot to take her in nice and slowly. Five minutes and some scratched paintwork later, Tiberian and the crew emerged from the transport. He turned to Martinez. "Jose, take Nnakir's body to the morgue. I want to have the surgeon clean her up before we send her off" Martinez nodded, and then went to see to the disembarking of both passengers and baggage. Tiberian finally turned to a young and fresh faced ensign standing nearby. "You there lad. My compliments to the Captain, and I shall attend her as soon as I can for a debriefing. Go" As the young ensign scuttled away Tiberian exited the shuttlebay, heading directly for sickbay. "Wong to Dr Cartwright" he said "Cartwright here" "Would you please meet me in sickbay urgently doctor. I need my plastic surgery removing asap"
<TAG Practically Everyone>
OOC: Hey, we're back. For those who were on the ground, now would be a good time to wrap up any loose ends. For those onboard, I assume either the Captain of XO will want a debrief sometime soon?

<Cardassian Prime>
Lieutenant Youngblood in the area where we were guarding the prisoner. Lt. Youngblood can’t get use to having a Ferengi aboard the ship. Yahnie looked at him while he spoke. Yahnie spoke to him and said, “Look Ferengi I don’t take it kind of any one calling me Mister. When I am on duty, you will respect me while I am on duty and call me by Lieutenant and don’t you forget it. I will go ahead and alert the local authorities.
” Captain Wong I will go ahead and alert the Cardassian liason and go ahead and beam up to the ship as soon as I am free of this duty.” Youngblood left and head towards the Cardassian officials. Youngblood was still upset on how things went down but he had to get it out of his mind and let the federation take the mission reports and come to their own conclusion.
It was about a twenty minute walk to the building where the Cardassian officials were. As soon as Yahnie went and told them what happen. Yahnie called up to the ship. =^= Lt. Youngblood to the Victory I am ready to beam up. Yahnie came aboard the ship he headed to sickbay to get his own face back.
<On board the USS Victory>
Yahnie was beamed on board and when the Chief was surprised of what he beamed aboard. Yahnie said, it’s okay Chief it’s me Yahnie Youngblood. I need to go to sickbay the Doctor is expecting me to surgery to reconstruct my face back to the way it was. Yahnie lift the transporter room and headed to sickbay.
<In Sickbay>
Yahnie entered sickbay, The Dr. will be with you in a moment Lieutenant. Soon after Yahnie was in surgery for about an hour and in recovery for about 30 minutes. After Yahnie was finished in surgery he returned to his quarters for a well deserve rest. Yahnie went to the sonic shower and went to dress in his night clothes to relax and went overto the food despiser and had a late meal. One of Yahnie’s favorites was from 20th century earth, A Mexican dinner that consists of Mexican food considering of a taco, tamala, enchilada. And a Mexican dish of sweet fried ice cream. Yahnie also had a couple of Strawberry Margarita’s. After he ate Yahnie he went to his easy chair and watch some of 20th century television.
