"Sir there is no need for you thank us," Matt responded to the praise," Colonel Hrisvalar and the crew were just doing our job."
"But now we should get to the task at hand. The Klingons you have in the brig should be brought here to the station. I will be contacting their embassy which we have here on the station and they will take care of them.", he responded, "We do need to try and keep good relations with them, especially now...", he finished
"Sir?" Matt asked not understanding what he meant. As far as he knew the Federation was on what you could call good terms. "Sir, what do you mean by especially now?"

"Sir?" Matt asked not understanding what he meant. As far as he knew the Federation was on what you could call good terms. "Sir, what do you mean by especially now?"
"I have already said too much Commander. You will soon learn why it is a priority to do all we can to avoid angering the Klingons, but not yet. Commander I once again thank you for your service and I shall see you when you reach Starbase Assaillant, Savali out", Felix said as he closed the channel
Well so much for having an early night, he thought as he walked away from the computer screen.
"Mr. Zoillip, if anyone needs me I shall be in the Klingon embassy", Felix said as he walked out of OPS

After Laurana and Dr. van Breughel left Sickbay, Daran slowly ran his medical tricorder across the comatose Magellan. "His vital signs are within acceptable norms, although his brain n-grams are still not corresponding to those taken from his last physical." Mercy leaned over to look at the readouts over Darans' shoulder, then nodded in agreement.
"I think that now that the ceremony has been completed, his brainwave patterns will return to normal by themselves" Mercy said.
Daran maintained his silence. He had never participated in such an event before, and so didn't know what was going to happen to the Admiral. He hoped that Stuart was right. "So what can we do for him in the meantime?" Dr. Keller asked.
"Not much" Dr. Mercy admitted. "Keep him warm, his surroundings quiet and continue to monitor his progress."
Daran nodded and put the chamber into night mode, then raised a sonic damping field to reduce the noise that was coming from Sickbay as casualties from whatever was going on between the Jefferson and the Hanson continued to come in. As he was completing this, Nathan came back in from escorting Laurana to her quarters, complaining of a headache. Stuart mentioned that he had one as well, so Daran gave them both an injection of the acetycholine compound that he had had made up.
A quiet sound from the bed made the three of them look over. They could see that the Admirals' eyes were fluttering in wakefulness. Daran walked over to the main console as Nathan quietly conversed with the conscious Magellan. The Admiral seemed to be experiencing some disorientation and memory loss, which would probably dissipate in time, or perhaps not, there was really no way to know. Mercy stepped forward to assess Magellans' mental state, while Nathan went to report the Admiral's situation to the bridge.
Daran decided to run a neural pathway mapping analysis on Magellan. It seemed that the symbiont's had managed to reroute at least some of Magellan's neural pathways. While Daran was preparing the computer, Nathan came back in to the room. "I've been ordered to the Hanson with a medical team. There are casualties there that need to be stabilized before transport."
Daran looked up. "That's fine Nathan, put together a team and transport over. I think that Lindsay is doing OK in triage, and Stuart and I are OK with Magellan. I will also get some shuttles equipped with bio fields organized, in case there are serious casualties that can't wait for stabilization and transport."
<Nathan>
Daran watched as Nathan left, then turned to Dr. Mercy. "Are you OK with Magellan? He seems to be stable at the moment and it will take some time for his neural pathways to be mapped."
<Mercy>
Dr. Keller nodded, then quietly left the chamber and tapped his comm badge. "Sickbay to bridge."
"Go ahead doctor" Commander Reynolds replied.
"If the situation up there is stable enough, I would like three shuttles with bio fields sent over to the Hanson, in case there are any casualties there who can't wait to be stabilized before transport" Daran said.
<Commander Reynolds>
"Very well, Sickbay out" Daran replied, then went to help Dr. D'Amato in caring for the casualties of the battle.

"Alright, I want repair teams on the Hanson in five minutes," Matt said," Lt. Silva your in charge of overseeing repairs on the Hanson. I will join you there shortly."
"Aye, sir," Raleva replied leaving the tactical console.
She tapped her combadge quickly.
=^=Lieutenant De Silva to engineering, I need three EO2's (Engineering Officer Level 2) in transporter room 3 immediately. Be prepared for extensive repairs. Bridge out. =^=
With that, Raleva exited the bridge and made her way toward the transporter room. She happened to pass by sickbay and nearly collided with Nathan.
"Oh, yes, I nearly forgot you're coming too," Raleva said with a smile, "Nervous?"

There was total chaos on board the USS Jefferson, but things were getting done in a timely fashion. The medical teams were on there way now and Lt. Silva was about to transport over with the repair teams. Matt already knew that they would not be able to completely repair the ship, but as long as the Hanson was able to travel at warp speed he knew it would be a job well done.
"If the situation up there is stable enough, I would like three shuttles with bio fields sent over to the Hanson, in case there are any casualties there who can't wait to be stabilized before transport" Daran said.
"Alright doctor. After helping out the most critically injured on the Jefferson, please transport to the Hanson with Doctor van Breughel," Matt said," Doctor Stuart is more than qualified to take care of the Admiral and Dr. D'Amato can look after the injured in our own sickbay."

=^=Dr. van Breughel, could you please prepare to beam over to the Hanson for medical support? The most critical patients are being transported to our sickbay, but some are unstable and need to be treated on the Hanson.=^=
"Certainly commander, give me a few minutes to get prepared and gather a few nurses to assist me." Laurana had insisted on returning to her quarters so Nathan had offered to escort her there, not only because it was the polite thing to do, but also because he was worried about the guardian. Now, he was on his way back to sickbay, and when he entered he immediately approached his boss, acknowledging Mercy with a mere nod.
"That's fine Nathan, put together a team and transport over. I think that Lindsay is doing OK in triage, and Stuart and I are OK with Magellan. I will also get some shuttles equipped with bio fields organized, in case there are serious casualties that can't wait for stabilization and transport."
"Thank you Daran," Nathan replied while packing his med-kit. "I will make sure that those who can be sorted will be sent here immediately. Others I can treat locally in Hanson's sickbay, provided the Klingons didn't wreck the place. I do need a few nurses to accompany me, I cannot treat all those people on my own." From the look on Daran's face, Nathan gathered that he need not explain he was not trained to be an emergency doctor. He had his own specialty, though he knew how to deal with other specialties as any doctor.
With Daran's approval, Nathan selected two nurses, one of which his own chief nurse Hannah Lowell. With them in tow he started off towards the transporter room, thereby almost colliding with Raleva.
"Oh, yes, I nearly forgot you're coming too," Raleva said with a smile, "Nervous?"
"Very," Nathan admitted, "I am not meant to be a co-ordinating emergency doctor. I am but a simple gynaecologist and paediatrician with a little knowledge of other fields. However I do feel I can manage...if people will just let me try. How about you?"
He followed the three women into the transporter room, already deciding he'd keep an eye on them for safety's reasons. "We're ready," he told the transporterchief, and seconds later they appeared on Hanson's bridge. Just as quickly, Nathan and his two nurses excused themselves and headed for sickbay.

Raleva smiled at Nathan's response and stood by as he and his nurses took their places on the transporter pad.
"Well, if you have any trouble, don't hesitate to call me! I'll be on the bridge ... if my crew of engineers ever shows up that is," she replied.
He smiled and turned to the transporter chief, "We're ready."
With that the three of them beamed out and Raleva turned about tapping her foot. After a moment or two, three engineers finally showed up with their kits. They were out of breathe and had obviously done their best to get there as quickly as possible, so Raleva decided not to let her own nervousness and anxiety come across in her voice.
"Welcome," she said, "Everyone here? Ready?"
They each nodded in turn and the four of them got up on the pad, Raleva nodded to the transporter chief and they found themselves in the engineering room of the Hanson.
"You, what's your name?" Raleva said to one dark skinned male betazoid engineer.
"Firenze, sir."
"Good, I need you and you ... "
"Grekia, sir."
"Good, good, I need you and Grekia to get to work on the shield matrix," Raleva started as the two junior lieutenants grabbed their bags, "Firenze you take point and I want a report in twenty minutes."
"Aye, sir."
The two of them took off at close to light speed over to one of the Mee's panels and had vanished down a Jefferies tube before she could blink. She smirked in approval and turned to the remaining engineer.
"Giles, sir," the young woman said before Raleva got the chance to ask her name.
"Good, I'm putting you in charge of main engineering," Rali said plainly, "I want you to give me a report on the operating status of the ship in general within the next half hour and include your needs for extra engineers. I want impulse power within the hour."
"Yes, sir!"
After Giles jumped to her job, Raleva headed to the bridge dodging swinging cords and buzzing circuitry. She had to force the aft door to the bridge open, but still managed to hustle her way inside. For the most part the bridge was in good working order, but power to the engineering and OPS stations was inadequet at best. However, the nav console and science consoles were all functional. Raleva strolled over the nav console and ceased the order for impulse power and brought the computer to a full stop navigation wise.

"Commander, the Hanson is now at a complete stop," Monica reported," Lt. Silva has taken complete control of the ship."
"Good," Matt said able to relax for the first time in hours," tell her to keep up with the repairs and that she is in charge over there." Matt was sure that the science officer would be pleased to have some command experience.
The bridge one of the busiest places in the entire ship had become eerily quiet. The Jefferson had receive no damage at all, but the Hanson was a different story. Every available engineer and medical officer were helping out. There hadn't been many Klingons on the Hanson, but they were excellent fighters. In total forty-five crew members were hurt and a eighteen of them critically.
It was only because of the Jefferson medical department's hard work that none of the wounded had perished. He would make sure to thank each of them personally.
These moments of peace allowed Matt to reflect on what had happened to him just a few hours ago. The Zhian'tara ritual had been a life changing experience. Toya's memories still flashed in his head. Her feelings, knowledge, experiences all coursed through his body. Even though things around him were less than perfect inside there was a calm piece that had not been present earlier.
"Monica, please contact when you get the reports," Matt said," I'm going to go help out on the Hanson, but don't tell Ravela. I think she likes being in charge."

Post by Magellan Lin on Dec 31, 2006 19:00:14 GMT
Magellan awoke as if emerging from a Coma. He hadnt felt such vibrancy or life in a year, not since the Elder Symbionts on Trill had restored to him the identities of his hosts... his other hosts. They were back, mere shadows of what they had been. They were individual and yet one. He felt Brysons sense of order, Toyas technophobia, Gethins tact and Lorans strength and determination.
He closed his eyes again as he relived in a flash all Loran had done. The theft of the Hanson, the attack on mining colonies the attack on the Jefferson and that said nothing of the chips she had had implanted in herself and others whilst she had been in the TDF. She had...he had a lot to make up for.
Noticing he was now awake a doctor drifted over, "Ah your awake."
Magellan bit back a sarcastic remark and nodded, "Yes...thankyou." As the medical technician ran a boy scan he sat up and attempted to hop out of bed. It was then he realised he was in a medical gown. "My uniform..." he asked sheepishly
The technician looked at him, "I ve contacted Dr Mercy, he should look you over first." Magellan nodded, "Yes okay but whilst I wait find me my clothes." The technician nodded and withdrew.
***
"Admiral... Magellan...Sir" Dr Mercy greeted cautiously as he entered the room Laurana at his side, "Magellan" she exclaimed rushing over to embrace him in a hug. "Thankyou yes its me" Magellan noted, returning the hug and then stretching out his hand which Mercy grasped and shook. "Thank you Mercy...Stuart. Thankyou for coming to help me."
"Your welcome Sir" Sturat replied. He picked up a tricorder and swept it over Magellan. "Isoboramine levels back to normal. No lethal levels. Psychosis not evident. Brain waves normal" he mumbled as he ran the sensor around his head.
"Good good. So I am well?" Magellan asked more than a little anxious that all of a sudden Loran might hijack him again.
"I would say so" Stuart replied and then showed the readings to Laurana "Oh yes these scans are excellent, the Zhian'tara helped reintegrate you. Whatever Grace said to Loran certainly put her in her pace... what was it?"
Magellan smiled wryly, "Thats between Commnander Mitchell and Loran. So if I am well I would like to thank my rescuers." "That should be okay, just take it easy." "Understood, and Stuart, even if I fall a thousand feet never... never ever transport me with a Debrune transporter." "Yes sir." Mercy smiled.
***
With a quick check of his somewhat damaged and dirty uniform Magellan emerged from the Jeffries Tube on to the bridge. Backs stiffened and more than a few eyed him suspicously.
"Your alright. Its me again. So its back to calling me sir and less of the chasing and shooting me" The injection of humour cracked the tension.
"Colonel Hrisvalar Thankyou and your crews efforts in this endeavour. I am glad it was this crew they sent for me. I think having the Victory rescue me would be too embarrasing... Dr Kapoor or Lasooux would never let me live it down."
"Who is to say we will" Zhukarak replied,
"True... too true. Well if all is well here and on the Hanson can I suggest a return to Assailant where I have some rather serious charges to get out of."

Raleva was thrilled to get a more personnel from the Jefferson. She had several junior officers manning the bridge and, as she was the commander per se she decided to go and see how things were going for Nathan. She knew he was nervous about the situation. She set a parallel course with the Jefferson, headed toward Starbase Assailant, and left a Lieutenant Foster in control of the CONN.
It wasn't exactly chaotic in the Hanson's sickbay, but it was a bit noisier than she'd expected it to be. Three engineers were at work getting some of the more sensitive sensors back online and about ten injured crewmembers were moaning and generally groaning as Nathan rushed from one med bed to another with a stream of nurses in his wake.
"So ... " Raleva started as she dibbed and dodged around hanging wires and avoiding the occasional nurse, "How are things going, Nate?"

Daran, three of his medical staff and two members of the Jefferson's security department and a pile of medical equipment materialized on Deck 5 of the USS Hanson. The CMO immediately wrinkled his nose. The aroma aboard ship wasn't very good, sort of like rotting meat being boiled in vinegar. "What is that smell?" Dr. Kellar asked.
"Klingon food" one of the security officer said with a grimace. "I was on an officer exchange program on a Klingon ship for six months. You get used to it, but when you board the smell is enough to curl your toes."
Charming, Daran thought to himself. Then he pulled out his tricorder. "According to reports, there is a first aid area set up in Section 12. Let's go." In response the team picked up their equipment and started moving. They quickly arrived at the section. There were about 15 injured Marines lying in different areas, with only two overworked Marine medics in attendance. Daran quietly told his three medical staff to start evaluating patients, then he went to talk to the medics to see which of the Marines were most seriously injured.

Some back posting:
Grace physically fell backward as Loran came in to her mind. Loran started to try to take over Grace's mind and body, but Grace would have none of it.
Loran said ~I will take this body. It isn't as muscled as the last body, but I can make do with this one.~
~I hardly think you are in a position to take over my body as I am in full possession of it.~ Grace replied.
~Begone with you, you mere woman. I am far superior to you.~ Was Loran's reply.
~Now, Loran as fasinating as this is to have a conversation with someone else in my own mind. I feel I should warn you that it will be quite impossible for you to take over my mind. My mind is entirely too regimented with it's own defensive mechanism for you to take it over.~
As Grace spoke, Loran was realizing that what Grace said was quite true, there was no way that Loran was going to get control over Grace's mind.
~Loran, why don't we while away the time with you telling me what happened to you~
Grace and Loran talked for what seemed like hours even though it wasn't. When minds speak to each other, time is irrelevant.
[Ran out of time!]

"Oh just fine," Nathan reassured the science chief, "a few serious injuries. Those that moan are the ones I least have to worry about, as I know two things without even looking at them. They've got heartbeat, and they've got air." He nodded towards a pale-looking Trill woman. "It's the quiet ones I need to be worried about. She's lucky she wasn't joined, and I'm afraid any options of ever going to be are extremely slim. I'm referring her to Counselor Mitchell after she's stable enough to return to the Jefferson."
Once he finished his rounds, he beckoned Raleva to follow him. "How are things faring for you Rally?" He hoped she wouldn't mind him using an abbreviation for her name, and prayed she'd inform him if she did. "Your first command." He offered her a grim smile as he simultaneously updated the status of his patients into the computer. "Are we heading to Conqueror to return the Hanson, or are we going back to Assaillant and have someone pilot the ship home from there?"
He nodded as she told him they were going home to Assaillant. "Good, and Jefferson too? That's good, we could use some shoreleave and the sooner Magellan gets back to more stable environments, like his own starbase, the sooner he'll recover." Then he grinned. "Not to mention that gruffy doctor commander, gosh that fellow is moody! Do you think we'll ever get along? I really thing something is going on that he's not telling us, but as I am not his doctor I can't press him. Perhaps that lady doctor on Assaillant, the civillian...what is her name? Perhaps she could shed some light on the situation."
His smile widened. "And what a beautiful and ferocious pet he had. The colonel's is a beauty, but that green one was very cute, especially if she's experiencing a fit! I did some research on them back on Bellicose, even witnessed a hatching as I had arranged an egg for Commander Gonto, he bonded himself to a nice brown, that one did. Nah I don't have interest in owning one, though I doubt they can be owned. No, I've my hands full on Tibbe and Sox!"
Now, he frowned. "Speaking of which, I hope Freddy's taking good care of his pets. Since we started this goose chase, I've not been able to spend much time with my son. Perhaps..." He trailed off, glancing at his friend. "Did you know Freddy's been asking me about a brother or sister? His friends all have siblings...how am I going to explain he's likely not to get any?"

He hadn't informed Colonel Hrisvalar yet, but Matt was going to accompany Admiral Drew to Conqueror. It was the obvious choice. Matt created the virus who crippled the Hanson and it would be easier if he fixed the problem. Secondly it would allow Matt the opportunity to visit with his older brother on Conqueror, who had just become a father of two twins.
=^=Matt to Caleb, please respond=^=
=^=Caleb here, are we allowed to leave? We've been here for a while and we are starting to get bored.=^=
Since his return from the Raven, Matt made sure to keep Caleb safe in these types of situations. He always knew the Jefferson would keep them safe, but he always wanted the added protection. So on Deck 23, he had created probably the most saftest place on the entire ship. Matt personally installed every security measure he knew to the room which also had a direct link to an escape pod. Matt had instructed Caleb to always go there if the ship went to red alert and not leave until Matt contacted him personally.
=^=Yeah, get out of there, By the way who are you with?=^=
=^=I made Valerie come with me=^=
=^=Ensign thank you for being with my son. Please report to engineering where you can help out with repair teams.=^=
=^=Yes sir=^=
=^=As for you Caleb, please prepare a traveling bag. We're going on a little trip=^=
After getting that complete, Matt contacted every department head and heard there reports. The Klingon's down on the brig were being taken care of. The Hanson would be space worthy in a couple of hours and the injuried were being taken care of.
"Commander Reynolds report," Colonel Hrisvalar ordered.
"Repairs are under way sir, though I'm afraid that a couple of teams will have to escort Admiral Drew and the Hanson back to Conqueror," Matt said hoping that his commanding officer got the hint.
"Your right, which is why your going with him," Colonel Hrisvalar said," though I'm sure that is what you wanted to hear."
"Thank you sir," Matt responded with a smile," we'll be back at Assailant as soon as possible."
"Make sure that you do, Commander, because Grace might want your seat again," Colonel Hrisvalar said joking.
=^=Reynolds to de Silva, I'm going to transport over to the Hanson shortly with an away team of fifteen. If you want to join us, that will be acceptable, but I'm afraid to say that your time as the boss will soon come to an end. I hope you enjoyed it.=^=

Raleva smiled as Nathan went on about his issues in sickbay, she commiserated with him in most respects and was happy to see him so comfortable in a situation that would normally put him on edge.
"I've always found that honesty is the best policy," she replied with a sigh, "Of course, just because your situation is a bit ... extraordinary, doesn't mean children are out of the question. You know what's horribly funny? Less than a few weeks ago, my dearest mother mentioned the word 'grandchildren' for the first time ... I almost jumped out of my skin ... "

=^=Acknowledged, well, I knew it would come to an end at some point, sir. You can find me in sickbay with Dr. van Breughel. Lt. JG Foster currently has the CONN. If it's all the same to you, sir, I'd like to stay and help out here in sickbay.=^=

OOC: Now to explain why I wasn't at the lead of things...hehe!
IC
Zhukarak knew that his confidence in Matt was well justified. After that ceremony that helped realign Admiral Lin, at least that was what Zhukarak thought of it, an overbearing headache had simply overwhelmed him just from watching. Even the meds from Doctor Keller didn't seem to help him much. It must have been something with his Andorian physiology. Maybe he had been too close and one of the previous hosts somehow had touched his mind as well.
Zhukarak had monitored all the varying situations, the battle and the run-away virus, but Matt had everything well in hand. Lieutenant De Silva did exceptionally well too, leading and instructing some of the away teams. Now she was overseeing some of the Hanson repairs, alongside Matt, while the Jefferson was returning back to base. Matt would be taking the Hanson back to SBC with Admiral Drew.
Admiral Lin, and Doctor Mercy had taken the Captain's Yacht from the Jefferson and went on ahead to SBA. Zhuk kept himself busy in his command chair, compiling reports for the higher ups. They would want them as soon as they arrived.
