Billi moaned and tried to smile at Tedak. "Let me know how they are please." she whispered as she shifted her position.
She caressed the small dragon which curled up against her with her good hand.
"Don't threaten me with the EMH." she laughed and gasped as she did. Once she was back on her feet that EMH was getting an overhaul.
"Please come back soon." she said in a whisper. His action had not been lost to her even if he thought it had been.

ooc: back to mainstream Jefferson time lol.....this is after any responses from loskene or reynolds.
ic:
Tedak walked away from Loskene, then went to find the EMH while all the while the Betazoid girl was still following him. Truth to be told, he didn't really know what to do with her as he himself had no clue how to make himself useful right now. He supposed that their time would come once they were allowed to see the Romulan prisoners.
He made a face when the battered and broken body of Reman sub-commander Hanaj was brought in. Now that he saw the face, he realised he had actually known this man when they had both been younger, and they hadn't been friends either. He turned to face Rin and give her an encouraging nudge towards the nurses that were going to prepare the Reman's body for autopsy. "Why don't you see if you can find out how he died?" he asked her, "we could use this information when we go talk to the prisoners and see whether we can find some way to get them released into Romulan custody."
<Rin>
He looked after the girl and shook his head sadly. ~she's too young~ he thought, though he hadn't been much older than her when he had entered the Romulan military service, and eventually the service of the Tal Shiar. Tedak walked over to the CMO's office, where he found the EMH going over medical reports. "The doctor was awake just now," he reported, "and assuming that you would not want her to leave sickbay unnoticed, might I suggest that you temporarily confiscate her command codes? She wouldn't be the first person to deactivate an EMH in order to leave sickbay."
The Romulan gave the EMH a rueful smile, which alerted the hologram to the fact that the diplomat spoke of personal experience. "Computer, put authorisation codes of Doctor Billi Eviston on hold until further notice," he spoke up, "also remove voice command codes until further notice."
=^= Authorisation codes and voice command codes have been removed =^= the computer replied in her usually monotone fashion.
"Thank you doctor," Tedak replied, "I wouldn't want to see the doctor get hurt because of her own stubbornness. Oh yes, I know doctors make the worst patients!" With a smile, he walked out of sickbay towards his quarters.
Once he got there, he noticed that his computer terminal was indicating that a message had arrived. It was a message from his solicitor, Lieutenant Jadine Peanut, informing him that the divorce papers had been drawn up, and had been signed and returned by T'Val without comment. The Romulan smiled as he opened the attachement to the message and read through it. He was relieved to find that T'Val did't dispute any of his issues, and was extremely relieved to find that she didn't demand sole custody of their adopted son.
Tedak hadn't been worried when he had filed the divorce, the two of them had grown apart and he knew he would do anything for T'Val. Since he knew that she had entered a somewhat informal relationship with Doctor Mercy, he had also known that he would make her happy, and Tedak wouldn't stand in their way. With a sigh he signed the papers and returned them to Lieutenant Peanut to process. Upon return to Assaillant, the only thing that was left to them was to find a Vulcan priest or priestess that could aid them in dissolving their marriage bond.
~but we'll always be friends, and we'll always remain tied through D'Beren~ he thought with a smile, knowing how bitter divorced couples could become when children were involved.

jeff was sitting monitoring the lockdown systems on the ship. It was accually rather boring.... Nothing much happened. he could watch every door open or close in the 3-d Map on the engineering console. He had it set so that i would spin in air slowly, so he could watch from all angles. critical areas were displayed on the master display as well. The entire ship was Green, except for the bridge, which was yellow, meaning it needed repair. no kidding Jeff looked over at a scorch mark on the wall. I just hope they didn't hit anything essental with that firing.
The master panel flashed red in sickbay area. Jeff looked at the code used to open the door, and lowered the alarm. Not a priority, but he couldn't turn it off if it was a sensitive area. If the CMO needed to leave, then that was her busness.
Jeff decided to check up on the scorches. He pulled a small repair kit out, and started anylizing what was damaged on the bridge. he put together a list of things to replicate on PADD...

OFF: This belongs before Pudlos post, due to having deleted this once but putting it back because I was asked to.
[two hours later]
Billi had dozed off, her body working to heal but at the same time infection started to set in and it caused her fever to spike. The EMH was busy with Commander Reynolds and Admiral Loskene and didn't notice the indicators on the console for her biobed showing the spike. Security had cleared out of sickbay now, the medics were busy picking up the debris from the battle which had ensued and the kidnapping.
She woke several hours later, her body burning with a fever which raged out of control. Billi fought to get to her feet, her body hurting far more than she thought possible. The only thing she desired was to get away, in her mind she was being held captive still, the memories of the kidnapping and the injuries she'd incurred coming back as if they were happening over again.
Billi carefully moved to the door of her room and peered out, She had to be careful, there were spies everywhere. With one backward glance at the bed and the small sleeping creature, which in her fever fogged mind was nothing more than another spy, she turned and left her room, slipping slowly out of sickbay and into the corridor. She'd be fine as long as she didn't wander into anyone, but where to go. The ship was full of spies and enemies of the Federation.
Her body hurt, but she knew she had to escape, had to get back to the Jefferson. She quickly ducked into a door as it opened when she passed. She had to find out where she was and find a way to one of the shuttle bays.
Her hands moving over the console which was dimly lit in the dark room. Her breath coming in gasps as the wound in her chest flared, the fingers of the hand in the cast turning a wonderful shade of black and blue as she tapped the console bringing up the ships schematics.
Her finger following the path that the computer showed with her request. "So ... this is the way out." she whispered as she stood and stretched letting out a low cry. "D...." she bit her lip quieting herself as she moved to the door once more and peeking around the frame.
OFF: Ok guys here's the deal, this is to unbore all you fellas who have no idea what to do. She's loose, and probably setting off intruder alarms wherever she is. Don't find her immediately though, this is just to spice things up and give you something to do.

ooc: jeff, any code the CMO uses would be denied...the EMH has removed all her command and authorization codes.....hence alarms would be tripped cause she's manually overriding/destroying everything!
ic:
Tedak had only just fallen into a light sleep when Sev appeared out of nowhere, screeching in alarm. "What is it Sev?" he asked sleepily, as he rubbed his eyes with thumb and index finger of his healthy hand. His left arm had started to throb annoyingly again, but the Romulan tried his best to ignore it.
Images of a delerious CMO filled his mind, as Sev 'told' him what had happened. "Well go after her!" the Romulan yelled at his little bronze, "keep an eye on her and make sure she doesn't endanger herself. Claw her if you need to, if that keeps her from harming herself." He grabbed his robe and roughly threw it over his shoulders, knowing how bedraggled it would make him look. "Tedak to OPS and security," he called, as he darted out of his quarters, "Doctor Eviston has disappeared from sickbay. She's very ill and she may be dangerous. Approach with caution."
<Johnson/Daya>
He darted down the corridors of the Jefferson, racing towards sickbay. He hoped Matt Reynolds would be well enough to assist him, as he planned on looking for the CMO himself; he'd taken quite a liking to the young woman. "Commander Reynolds, I need your assistance," he stated, as he panted for breath, his face showing the discomfort he was experiencing, "Billi has disappeared and we need to go find her."
He awaited the commander's reply and then walked off towards Loskene. "Admiral, I need your help. Actually, I am going to ask your assistance by drawing onto your telepathic skill. Doctor Eviston has removed her combadge and the computer can't find her. While we search the ship deck by deck, could you try to find her by searching for her mind?" He motioned to Nut, who was now perched at the foot of Loskene's bed. "Nut will assist you, if you need it," he offered, and the little brown squawked in reply.
<Reynolds/Loskene>
Meanwhile, little Sev had located the delerious doctor and was hovering before her, chirping with concern. He had no way of really communicating with her while she was in this state, all he could do was try to stop her then and there. When she tried to bat him aside, he screeched and flapped his wings at her, carefully scratching her cheek with one of his talons to get her attention.

Billi batted at the small creature above her head, her only though was to get away from the spies and off the ship. She had to find the shuttle bay. Her fever raged sending her over the edge and further into her delerium as she struck the small firedragon flitting at her and scratching at her sending it tumbling into the wall next to where she stood peering out into the corridor.
She waited till the security team, which was actually no security team but a group of children, passed by and then she made her move. She stumbled along the corridor, her chest wound aggrivated by her being on her feet, her arm now solid black and blue and swollen beneath the cast.
She fell against the wall and fell into the turbolift. Her voice bearly a whisper as she spoke her destination. "Shuttlebay". The lift falling slowly towards what she hoped would be her salvation and escape.

Johnson was on the bridge. They received a call from Tedak telling them that Doctor Eviston had escaped from sickbay.
"Can you find her with the sensors?" Johnson asked Daya.
"I'm not detecting her combadge." said Daya.
"Scan for her bio-signature." said Johnson
"I'm trying, but we're still having some problems with the computer and the lockouts after the attack." replied Daya.
"Ok, keep trying. In the meantime, she's confused and dangerous, we should post security at all sensitive areas." said Johnson
"I've just sent security teams." said Daya.
"If she's trying to get out of sickbay...it makes sense that she still thinks she's with her captors, so she'd be trying to get off the ship."
"The transporter rooms." said Daya.
"Or the shuttlebay." said Johnson. "I'll go to the shuttlebay, you take the transporter room."
"Aye sir." said Daya.
"Benedict, keep scanning for her bio-signature." ordered Johnson as he headed for the turbolift to the shuttlebay."

Scene: Sickbay, Deck 7, USS JEFFERSON
Matt didn't know how long he had been out, but it felt as it was a life time ago. His body seemed to be healing nicely and he wasn't in consent pain. The other thing that he noticed was that Tedak's dragon, Nut was still in his room. Shortly after reintroducing himself, his master walked in.
"Good to see you back in the land of the living commander," he greeted, though not quite heartily, "you have the fire worthy a Romulan." Realizing that this might not have been such a wise statement, he forced a smile. "An honorable Romulan," he added, "not the sort that has resorted to this."
Matt understood that this was not Tedak's best suit, but he was trying and that was the best that anyone could ever ask for.
"It's nothing Tedak, I've received worse," Matt said fighting the urge to wince in pain," at least this letter fellow could keep me company."
"I will come back when you feel better commander," Tedak continued after Reynolds' response, "I still have one more patient to attend to."
"Okay, thanks for the visit," Matt said getting a bit worried. He knew that he had visited Billi first, but if there was another injured it could mean that someone else was hurt by the Remans, but as of now Matt could only guess.
There was no way that Matt could go back to sleep, so he just relaxed and meditated. He knew that this would help his body unwind and quicken the healing process.
Everything was calm until Matt heard some commotion outside. He couldn't totally make it out, but he knew that something had just happened. The next few seconds went by with the sound of claxon's going off. "Commander Reynolds, I need your assistance," he stated, as he panted for breath, his face showing the discomfort he was experiencing, "Billi has disappeared and we need to go find her."
Matt's face lit up in alarm and his eyes told Tedak to realize him.
"Tedak please release me from this bio bed," Matt said not able to get up due to the encasing of the bio bed. Tedak quickly complied with his request and made his way towards another room. Matt quickly found a shirt and slowly but surely made his way out of sickbay to find his new friend.

Loskene opened his eyes slowly but was lying still, in pain, though it had started to fade over time. Loskene began to speak, softly.
Loskene: I'll do my best...
Loskene took a deep breath and tapped into his mind. The display on the wall showing Loskene's bio signs began to beep and blink rapidly.
The amateur "doctors" ran over to the chart, worried.
Loskene: No, no. Don't worry...It's normal...
Tedak: I've never seen levels like these before...
Loskene's mind took him on what some call an out of body experience. He could feel himself rising out of the medical bed, but yet his body still lay there. He could see himself lying down on the bed. His mental self left sickbay, shifting through walls, looking for Billi's mind. It didn't take long before he detected an abnormal mind. He dove into the floor and ended up in a large room. He saw Billi walking and trembling, toward the center of the shuttle bay. Loskene closed his mind and his mental self was sucked back into his body like a vacuum cleaner. He opened his eyes.
Loskene: She's in Shuttle bay 2! Quickly!

The Romulan sighed with relief and began to walk away with a quick pace, calling a "thank you admiral" over his shoulder as the distance between the two men increased. Just outside sickbay, he caught up with Commander Reynolds, who was struggling to keep upright and moving. "Get to Shuttlebay two as fast as you can manage," he urged the young man, "I'll go ahead and see if I can talk sense into her."
Just then, Nut screeched, digging his talons in Tedak's shoulder, who in turn hissed in pain. Images of his hurt companion filled his mind, and Tedak picked up his pace, even though the bounce of his step was sending up jolts of pain through his injured arm. "Nut, stay with Reynolds," he commanded, "get help if he needs any. I'll go on ahead."
Not much later, the Romulan met up with Daya's security men. "I'll try and reason with her," he said, "you two wait out here. We don't want to appear to be a threat to her." He noticed one of the security men was holding something which was making a soft keening sound. "And I'll take him," he added, holding out his hand upon which the security officer placed the injured bronze in it. "Poor Sev," he whispered, as he entered the shuttlebay, placing the bronze firelizard in his sling on top of his injured arm.
"Doctor?" he called out to the obviously ill CMO, "Billi? Everything is all right, I'm here to help you. Please let me help you, like you've helped me?"

Billi was crouched in a corner of the shuttle bay, her delirium fading away to fear. No matter where she turned, they .. the spies were there. She had no place more to run. The pain of her injuries was slowly seeping through the fever which had spiked almost to the point where she would lose consciousness. The security teams had been following her for a while staying back to make sure she didn't hurt anyone or hurt herself.
With the sound of the voice in the door she trembled and reached for the phaser she'd managed to take from a weapons locker in her wanderings.
"Doctor?" "Billi? Everything is all right, I'm here to help you. Please let me help you, like you've helped me?"
She pulled herself up where she could see the door and the shadows which fell into the room.
"You want to.... kill me ... like you did Rayna ... and Dr. Lorenz.."
She stuttered out, her voice strained with pain and confusion as fleeting images of her kidnapping, beating and then the beamout and brief flashes of sickbay made their way into her mind.
Those watching her bio-signature would see that she was in grave danger of passing out or worse. Her fever was causing all sorts of internal issues and her heart was racing.

The Romulan cautiously approached the visibly ill doctor, and peering out from his sling, little Sev was hooting some reassurances also even though at present he didn't quite like the doctor. The little bronze had hurt his wings when he was slapped against the wall, and he wasn't able to fly right now.
"Billi please," the Romulan pleaded, only too aware of the two security men keeping watch near the door. He held out his healthy right hand to her. "Give me your weapon doctor," he said, knowing that on the bridge Commander Johnson was keeping an eye on them. He knew that what he was trying to do was dangerous, but leaving the doctor like this would be even more dangerous.
"Come with me doctor," he pleaded once more, "you are very ill and if we don't get you to sickbay right now you'll die. Let me help you, please."
Billi shrunk back into the corner, away from the Romulan and his winged companion. She shivered and slumped against the wall but didn't relinquish the weapon which hung loosely in her grasp.
"You only ...want to capture ...me again."
She gasped out, as she tried to raise the weapon to fire.
Tedak stopped moving, keeping his eyes on the weapon. He knew if provoked, the doctor would fire and he had no way of knowing what the phaser was set on. "Trust me Billi," he continued, "had I wanted to capture you, I would've stunned you on sight. Here look, I am unarmed, I am not even carrying my usual weapon." He showed her that he was indeed unarmed, and hoped she would relinguish her weapon to him. He quietly motioned for the guards to remain where they were; this was exactly the kind of situation he was trained for. "I am here to help you, will you let me help? I promise no-one will hurt you, not even them." He motioned towards the guards. "You'll be safe with me."
She shook her head and let out a small cry from the pain. "You're only saying.... that to .... ." Her words were cut off as the phaser slipped from her fingers causing her to grasp for it and fall against the wall. She struggled to get back to her feet and reach the phaser which she couldn't seem to catch as it skittered across the floor. Her heart racing far faster than normal, dangerously close to giving out.
Tedak watched patiently as her weapon fell from her grasp and slid towards him. He didn't reach for it, but instead gave it a nudge with his foot to slide it back into her reach. Then he took a small step forward and knelt down to be on eye-level with her, dangerously close to losing his balance as he did so. "Come with me Billi," he urged, "you are very ill. I'm afraid that eventually I will have to take you back to sickbay by force and I fear that this will damage our friendship. Commander Reynolds is on his way also, he has come out of bed injured and all especially to come to your aid. You don't want him to overstrain himself just because you refuse to come back to sickbay with me do you?"
Billi reached for the phaser but missing as the Ambassador took a small step forward. Her eyes going from the weapon on the floor to his eyes as she stumbled backwards, loosing her balance and falling to the floor. She lay there gasping as the chest wound flared. She couldn't breath, couldn't think .. his voice, Sevs chirps finally breaking through .. she knew them ... but .. on the enemy ship ...
She whispered, each breath a task which seemed to large to undertake, gasping for each and every breath between her words. "Help ... me .. please..." before slipping into uncounsiousness.
Tedak shot forward, cradling the now unconscious woman. "Johnson, lock onto my signal and beam us straight to sickbay," he called after slapping his combadge. The two immediately shimmered out of view just as Reynolds staggered into the room, and reappeared in sickbay. Immediately, the EMH was at their side, glaring at him as they lifted the CMO onto a biobed. Quietly, Tedak ran a hand through her matted hair. "Will she be all right?" he asked, his voice filled with concern.

Jeff was monitoring the ship's lockdown boards- technically his duty as chief engineer, although it was often done by somone else. But witha damage control team on the bridge replacing everything damaged, He had nothing else to do.
"Got the internal sensors online yet?" Jeff asked.
"Almost. The connections are senitive, to say the least." The technitian repiled.
Without them, the board was rather useless. It only displayed what doors had opened, not if it was authorized or not, and where. Some group- probably a damage control team- had headed to shuttlebay 2. A minute later, the transporters came online. "Computer, target of that beam?" Jeff asked, Sensors forgotten.
"According to transporter lock, sickbay, emergency ward."
"not another..." Jeff mumbled. nothing he could do. He was the CEO of the ship, not Chief Engineering/medical officer like on the SS. Glory. good ship, good crew. Jeff reflected. Small though.

Billi slipped in and out of consciousness, her body on fire with a raging fever which threatened her very being. Snippets of the past hours flowed through her mind as she fought to regain who she was. Rayna was chasing vials around the sickbay floor. ... the scene faded out .... The USS Michigan, and a child filtered in, swirling like a bad dream in confusion. ... the scene faded out .... Ambassador Tedak being pulled into sickbay by Rayna. ... the scene faded out .... Ambassador Tedak and Commander Reynolds faces swirled around her haphazardly. ... the scene faded out .... Her body trembled as she continued to fight the fever which slowly was ebbing. She felt a hand upon her brow, heard a voice which seemed to come from far away. "Will she be all right?" She recognized the voice, the touch ... Billi groaned and opened her eyes staring up into the face of the Ambassador, but only briefly before falling back into semi-consciousness. The face of Talis flowed briefly into her sight and just as quickly was gone. ... the scene faded out .... ...Rayna, Lorenz .. the cell and pain ... ... the scene faded out .... Ambassador Tedak, two small dragons next to her bed. ... the scene faded out .... Billi sank back into unconsciousness, the pain blistfully taken away .. all was forgotten .. for now.

[Before and during the escape episode with Billi]
Rin had been busy talking to Security and Ambassador Tedak since the attack on sickbay and the loss of some of the crew to an apparent kidnapping. While the Ambassador was talking to Loskene, the body of one of the Romulans had been brought in for an autopsy and Tedak turned towards her.
"Why don't you see if you can find out how he died?" he asked her, "we could use this information when we go talk to the prisoners and see whether we can find some way to get them released into Romulan custody."
"Yes Sir." Rin said as she turned and walked away, following the doctors and the body.
During the time of Billis escape she spent it taking notes and listening to the doctors as they performed the autopsy and went about their work.
When it became evident that the doctor had disappeared she retreated to the Ambassadors room to write up the autopsy report and to keep out of the way of all those who were busy looking for her. -------------- NPC: Rin Damis/Ambassador in training

Scene: Outside Sickbay, Deck 7, USS JEFFERSON
Matt was trying as hard as he could, but it was hard going. He already was sweating profusely and he was not even twenty feet away from sickbay.
"Get to Shuttlebay two as fast as you can manage," he urged the young man, "I'll go ahead and see if I can talk sense into her."
It surprised Matt to hear Tedak's voice, but he welcomed the news.
"Okay, I will get there as fast as I can,"Matt responded as he slightly quickened the pace. A few seconds later Matt stopped as he heard Nut's screech. Matt didn't know what had just happen end, but he knew that it might not be good.
"Nut, stay with Reynolds," he commanded, "get help if he needs any. I'll go on ahead."
Matt was about to object, but Tedak sped up towards the turbolift. Matt tried to catch up, but he failed. The pain going through his body was just to much and he lost his balance and fell to the ground. Nut automatically began to chirp at Matt, telling to him to get back up.
Without a lot of pain, Matt took hold of the wall nearest to him and helped himself up. The pain almost made him collapse again, but luckily he held his ground.
Matt was about to take a step forward, but Nut nudged him in the shoulder.
"What, Tedak said to go to Shuttlebay 2," Matt said trying to reason with the magnificent creature. Matt felt as he convinced the creature and tried again, but Nut just nudged him harder.
Matt got the feeling as though he was no longer needed in the shuttlebay. Matt stopped and just looked at the dragon.
"Did you do that?" Matt asked. The bronze dragon chirped in answer. Matt was in awe of the creature and almost relented, but he just couldnt' completely trust the his intutition.
Matt went forward and slowly but surely made his way to the turbolift. Nut was chirping away and nudging him, but he to followed him inside.
"Deck 14, Shuttlebay 2"
--------------------------- Scene: Shuttlebay 2, Deck 14, USS JEFFERSON
The lift ride up was not a quiet one, Matt thought that he had hurt Nut's feelings, by not trusting him.
"Look I'm sorry, but I have to make sure," Matt said to the chirping dragon on his shoulder. when the lift stopped Matt entered the corridor and made his way to the shuttlebay.
Once he entered the shuttlebay he saw that it was empty, Billi and Tedak were no longer here. Matt turned around and made his way back towards the turbolift, but he didn't make it back as he collasped on the floor, with only a dragon at his side.

Rayna gasped in pain as consciousness slowly returned to her. With a moan, she hauled herself onto one of the cots, her body stiff from the bruises and from lying on the cold deck for hours on end. The Romulan woman knew she had fractured at least two ribs, and had probably severly bruised another three or four. Yet she knew she hadn't told her interrogators anything they wanted to know.
From her viewpoint on the other cot, she could see Doctor Lorenz still lying on the other cot, and when she squinted, she could actually see the man's chest rise and fall slowly, as he laboured to breathe. ~at least the concoctions I administered to him will help him survive for now~ she thought, her face askew with pain. She fought the feeling of discomfort back and closed her eyes, trying to relax as she lay on the cot.
Fortunately, the cell was covered in darkness, so that she didn't have to endure the pain of bright light that usually shone in Romulan cells in order to break prisoners. Finally, she drifted off in a restless sleep, bolting awake at intervals when she heard something that sounded out of the ordinary.
~the crew is certainly taking their time in staging a rescue~ Rayna wondered, not for the first time ~certainly Billi would've told them by now?~ Little did she know that her new friend hadn't been able to tell them anything tangible yet, and whatever she had managed to tell, had been written off as fevered craziness so far. Not for the first time either, did Rayna wish that she had been born with telepathic skill, so that she could contact her friends.
~but I can~ she then realized, remembering the brief link she had forced Loskene to make, back when they were anything but friends. She closed her eyese again, and focused all her energy on drawing the admiral's mind back to hers, hoping with all her might that it would work, before their captors would come back and continue where they had left off. Rayna knew that in the end, she would most likely die, for she would never reveal any classified information to anyone.

OCC: I recieved permission by Sonak to torture Rayna.
The steel cold doors of the holding cell opened which revealed the bodies of three Remans led by Habarj. There primary mission had been altered, but they still planned to fulfill their duty. For that reason alone the Lorenz and Rayna had not been killed yet, but thier patience had run out. They would get the information from one way or another.
"Trying to contact someone are you?" Habarj said immediately terminating the link to whom she was trying to get a hold of. The pain caused to the prisoner was visable and the hate in her eyes were clear as day.
"Bring her," Habarj said as he left the cell. He had thought of another way to get information out of her. The dark corridors of his ship were customary for a Reman ship and thier tactics didn't call for what he was about to do, but he wanted to enjoy himself.
"Put her in there," Habarj ordered. The two Remans threw Rayna into the room and in the process the bucket of water spilled all over her body. She was dripping wet and cold.
"Leave us, I will get the information out of her," Habarj said to the others," Do you know what this is you piece of Romulan filth?"
The answer he recieved from her was a face full of spit, and Habarj retaliated by throwing her across the room until she hit the hall. The crack of bones was clearly heard, which brought a smile to his face.
"Well why don't I just show you," Habarj said as he brought the electrical rod to her body. The scream that filled the air was just feeding Habarj's need cause pain.
----------------------------
The room smelled of charred, burning skin. It was a smell that every species feared of, but to Habarj it was a smell of sucess and victory. She had spoken, she had told him the information that he needed and thanks to her the Jefferson was his.
"Take her back to her cell, make sure that she does not die from infection, I want her to watch as I kill her friends," Habarj said as exited the room and headed to the bridge.
"Turn us around, we got the information that I was looking for, we are going to engage the USS Jefferson," Habarj said.
"What if she gave you the wrong information?"
"Are you saying that I didn't my job correctly," Habarj said grabbing the Reman by the throught.
"No...I...di..dn't....mea..n....any...di...sr..espect." was the answer.
"Well I think that you did," Habarj said before breaking his neck and ending his life.

Jeff had retreated to the confrence room. And he was geting very impatient. The Jeferson was sitting outside sensor range of the Warbirds, in a natural spacail shadow where no sensors could reach them. But they were so close... Jeff imagined he could even see them against the stars. They wer that close. The planet was in veiw, but thew warbirds we'rnt quite there yet.He sat in his chair near the head of the table. Matt's seat, in front of his, was a visable reminder of the damages to the ship and crew. The Heavy blast doors to all sensitive areas were another, as well as the barier doors placed at tactical intervals along the corridors. Finally, he felt he had to defuse the situation a little. Rana Had to come back.
"Pudlo to Loskene." he opened. "I want permission to take the cloaked shuttle to rescue Rayna. I have medical training, and I can defend myself, and I feel I can get to her better then anyone else. And I want permission to Defend myself if need be."
It was a lot to ask, but something would have to happen...

ooc: Joint post Tedak/Eviston; warning, rather massive post!
Billi roused from her troubled sleep, her eyes opening, taking time to focus. She stirred and groaned. Her arm, which had been broken in the cell back on the Romulan ship, was now a mass of metal rods holding it together. Her stomach felt on fire but at least it was bearable. The first thing she saw was Ambassador Tedak, apparently sleeping in the chair in her room, his dragons curled up in his lap.
“...Ambassador...” she whispered as she rose from her drug induced sleep. Her mind finally clearing.
Tedak instantly was awake when he heard someone was calling for him, albeit by means of a whisper. He sat up, only barely catching the two sleeping firelizards as he did so. "Doctor, you're awake again," he said, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth, "how do you feel?"
She managed a small smile and rolled onto her side to face him, grimacing as she did. “Like I’ve been run over by a Targ or something. But I think I’ll live.” She motioned to her bad arm. “What happened?” The last thing she remembered was it being in a cast.
"I'm not certain you wish to hear this," Tedak answered, while reaching for her good arm with his own good arm, keeping her hand away from the injured arm. "You did a few very insensible things when you were suffering from delerium." He gave her a small smile. "Fortunately we were able to talk sense into you, if we had not been, I don't think I'd be standing here." With a wink, he handed her the phaser she'd dropped earlier, showing her the setting.
“I’m sorry... for whatever happened.“ Billi shuddered and turned her face away from him. “Tell me, I need to know.” her voice nothing more than a small whisper. It wasn’t that she wanted to know but she had to know what happened. The thoughts of turning in her pips and going home already flowing through her head.
Tedak squeezed her hand lightly. "Nothing I haven't done before," he assured her, "and everyone understands, you were very ill and everyone was, and still is, very worried about you." Quietly, he told her everything that had happened ever since she was beamed back from the Romulan vessel. On his lap, Nut and Sev both squawked encouragingly, after which Sev gave a small keening sound as he tried to fan his wings but found himself unable to do so.
Billi frowned and turned back, struggling to find a comfortable position. Tears welled up in her eyes as she looked at Sev, while reaching to the two small dragons with her good arm. She expected he’d hate her and with good reason. “What can I do to fix this?” The fact she’d almost killed him and hurt one of his pets at the same time hurt her more inside than any of her physical injuries. Sev hopped forward and let her caress his head, though his eyes showed none of the affection they had before. Tedak saw the turmoil she was experiencing and moved to sit beside her on the bed, carefully cradling her. "There is nothing you can do," he whispered, as he caressed her cheek, "it was unavoidable and you were very ill. I am just glad you didn't press that trigger." He smiled down on her. "Everything will be all right," he assured her, "Sev will come around. Had he despised you for injuring him he wouldn't be letting you near him, please don't worry about him" He paused as he lifted her chin to make her look up at him. "You should not worry about him," he repeated, "we should worry about you first."
Billi sighed, caressed the small dragons head and allowed Tedak to hold her. She felt miserable, felt like she’d failed her responsibility as a doctor. Felt like she’d betrayed their friendship, even if she didn’t know what she was doing at the time. “I hope so Ambassador. I don’t think I can live with him hating me for this. I just wish I could fix it.”
Her eyes met Tedaks briefly before pulling away. “Why worry about me? I’m nothing, if anything I caused more problems for the ship and crew.”
Now Tedak's smile brightened as he gave her a brief hug. "Why worry?" he echoed as he released her, "why would we not worry about a lovely young woman? And hey, you did not cause any problems do you hear? It was the Romulans and the Remans who did the problem causing, not you. You were just an effect of something they caused, so let's not hear anything about you being problematic, deal?"
“Yes Sir.” she smiled slightly as she rested back against the pillow before speaking again. “Any news on Dr. Lorenz or Rayna? She asked as she relaxed slightly, her voice still full of concern.
Tedak shook his head, rather sadly. "None," he replied, "but I'm certain Lieutenant Daya is working on a rescue plan. However, you shouldn't worry about them. Rayna can take care of herself, and if she's dedicated to protecting someone, she will do so at all cost. I have no doubt they're quite safe for now." He didn't know he could never have been more wrong than he was now. "You should get some more sleep," he then suggested, "when you wake up again you will feel much better. I have to go check on Commander Reynolds now." He smiled as he told her what the commander had gone through.
Billi frowned as he told her what had happened to Matt. “Please let him know I’m ok.” Too much had happened and so quickly. It was a lot for her to take in so fast. She, however reached to touch his injured arm gently. “We’ll have to discuss ‘our’ recovery at some point.” She tried to keep a straight face but knew he’d have something to say about that. “You go check on the others, I’ll nap. But please ... get some rest yourself.”
Tedak bowed ever so slightly. "Yes ma'am," he replied, though his eyes were still holding a bemused spark. "Speaking of recovery, let's just get you recovered insofar that you'll be allowed on your feet shall we?" He gave her a light kiss on her forehead and turned to walk away. "I will return soon," he promised, "and I'll tell Commander Reynolds know that you have improved; he'll be relieved to hear that I'm sure." Though he didn't realize it himself, the last part was spoken at a rather odd tone, having some form of jealousy as undertone.

Rayna gasped as ice cold water was unexpectedly dumped over her and involuntarily she shivered violently. She was used to moderate temperatures but even this much cold was new to her. With a scowl, she began wringing her clothing, until Hanarj seemed to talk to her. ~what is this buzzing I'm hearing~ she grimaced, at first pointedly ignoring her Reman captor. It was obvious to her what he was going to do, now that she was dripping wet; not a fibre of her clothing was dry and it was extremely uncomfortable.
In response to Hanarj showing her a rod that looked much like her own Agiel, but of which she knew had a completely different purpose as an Agiel was not electrical, she spat him in his face. The next thing she knew she had wind knocked from her lungs as she smashed into a wall. She grunted as she felt bones crack and her body went numb with pain. Biting back a scream, she scrambled back to her feet, determined not to show him how much he had hurt her.
Rayna had barely gotten to her feet when Hanarj spoke again and pressed the rod against her wet body. An electrical jolt was sent through er body and she screamed as she felt every muscle in her body spasm under the current that went through her and used her body as conductor to finally seep away through the deck plating. The Romulan woman had no idea how long this would go on, nor how long she would be able to endure this. She had been trained as interrogator, thereby undergoing various means of torture herself as part of this training, but she'd never experienced anything like this.
She also didn't remember what had been done to her, nor what she had told him, though she made herself believe that anything she had told him would be lies. Every part of her body was in pain and she was actually glad that Hanarj's cronies dragged her back to her and Lorenz' cell, rather than making her walk. She collapsed on the bed, cringing involuntarily as the Remans and Romulans alike laughed at her broken appearance and her tattered clothing. She cringed even more as one of them tried to wash her face, but she was to weak to bat him away.
Rayna felt as though every bone in her body was broken, and that her innards were on fire. She knew currents could do that to you, but she had never known how it would feel. Even breathing hurt so much that she contemplated ceasing to breathe at all. Only Lorenz' soft moaning and laboured breathing kept her from doing so. That is, she knew he would be moaning, but all she could see was the rise and fall of his chest, other than that the cell was completely silent.
She knew the Reman was talking to her, or at least talking to someone out of her line of vision, but she heard nothing. Panic struck briefly as she realized that her hearing was damaged, and she prayed she wouldn't be pernanently deaf. Yet she also knew the chances of regaining her hearing would be moot, unless the damage would be attended to soon, which she doubted. At last she closed her eyes and embraced the darkness and release of unconsciousness, unaware of the Reman who was cleaning her wounds with a stinging fluid.

Scene: Shuttlebay 2, Deck 14, USS JEFFERSON
The body of Commander Matthew Reynolds was lieing on the cold, barren shuttlebay floor. It was clearly visible that his injury had bleed through his bandages and the pool of blood around his body seemed to grow as every minute passed. The site of an unconscious Commander was strange enough, but to see a dragon chirping at his side was even more peculiar.
The only person that new that Matt was not in sickbay was Tedak, and he at the moment was attending to Doctor Eviston. His life lay completely in the wings of the the dragon creature named, Nut.
Even though Nut was not a person, he possessed incredible intelligence. He clearly didn't want to leave Matt alone, but he knew that the only way to keep him alive would be to get someone's attention.
So without hesitation, Nut started pecking at the commbadge on Matt's chest. The comm was activated, but the only thing that anyone heard was the chirping of a creature.
"Who is this?" a bridge officer asked. There was still no response, but the constant chirping of Nut. "I repeat who is doing this?"
There still was no response.
"If you don't tell me who this is I will lock onto your commbadge and report you to the Admiral," the bridge officer said clearly mad.
The officer must of realized that it was Matt's commbadge that was being used and searched for his biosigns. Seeing that it was very weak, he transported Matt directly to sickbay.
------------------ Scene: Sickbay, Deck 7, USS JEFFERSON
"Nurse, give me the hypospanner and tricorder, we need to close that wound immediately," the EMH said as he started to act fast on Matt.
"Here you go doctor," the nurse responded as she helped the holographic doctor in healing Matt once again.
Luckily for Matt the damage to the wound was not as severe as first thought and in a matter of minutes he was back in his private room healing.
"Will he be okay doctor?" the nurse asked.
"Yes, I permanently closed and healed his wound, when he wakes up he will be fully healed, but he will have a lot of pain."

The struggle to stay alive was slowly overpowering Lorenz, and his life was fading away slowly. The medicine that Rayna administered to him helped him, but it only slowed the decay of his lungs. His other organs were still degrading. He knew for himself that death was closing in on him...
The door opened up, revealing a white light, and another man was thrown into the brig.
Man: Ow! Watch it!! This is unfair treatment!
Guard: Shut up! Get in there or I'll come in there and I'm gonna show you what's it's like!!
The man stumbled into the cell and tripped. He stood up slowly and wiped muck from his shirt.
Man: Great...now where am I?
The man heard intense breathing from one side of the cell and headed toward the noise.
Man: Who's...who's there?
The man approached closer. It was dark, but he could still make out the face.
Man: Doc...Doctor? Doctor Lorenz?? Is it you?!
Lorenz slowly nodded his head.
Man: Oh...Oh my goodness doctor, it's me, Flemings! I was certain you'd been killed! What is wrong? You've been injured...It must be attended to immediately.
Lorenz: It's too late Billy...
Lorenz reached up with all his strength and stroked his fingers through the youthful blond hair of Flemings.
Lorenz: Heh...Bill...You've always been like a son to me...We've been working together for so long...endured much hardship... In fact, you're probably the only one who doesn't think I'm a total nut.
Flemings: Doc...we'll get out of this one. We've been in tough spots before.
Lorenz: I'm dying Bill. I've been here for days now, without my medicine. A strangely kind Romulan woman managed to open my lungs with some kind of albuterol saline/epinephrine solution, but it's simply emergency asthma medicine.
Flemings: Doctor...we'll get out of here. Where are we?
Lorenz: You saw the Romulans...and the Remans... I think you can figure that one out.
Flemings: I think I can...Doctor...either way...it's gonna end.
Lorenz: Yeah, for us...
Flemings: No. Well....
Lorenz managed to sit up slightly, concerned.
Lorenz: Billy?
Flemings: I uh... I snuck one of the experimental devices in an access junction when I was being carried away by the Remans. I activated the cloak that we built into it, so that no one would find it. Their sensors didn't pick it up when they beamed me aboard.
Lorenz: Billy...do you realize the danger involved in what you have done? The Remans have more powerful and advanced weapons then the Romulans do. For all we know the Reman sensors have already picked it up and they are dissecting the technology as we speak.
Flemings: I had to take the risk sir. These factions have come the closest in many years to catching you. They could succeed either way, but I figure that nows our chance to end their quest. That's why we need to leave, doctor!
Lorenz: That's impossible. I'm far too weak.
Flemings: Doc, in less than an hour this ship will be turned into organic matter and will crumble away. If we don't get out, we'll die along with the rest of the crew on this ship.
Flemings whispered into the doctor's ear, in case anyone would hear him.
Flemings: Doc...when I was being dragged through the ship, I was drugged, but I'm pretty sure I heard them speak of a vessel that they were going to intercept. A Federation ship if I'm not mistaken. That's our way out!
Lorenz: Yes...there was a woman here before who claimed to be from a starship, but she was beamed out. There is someone else here with us, Billy. She is wounded, and in pain. Help her.
Flemings: I don't have any medical knowledge doc... What do I do?
Lorenz: Be a good lad and make her comfortable... Ah...you idiot. I can't believe you did that!
A smile came across Flemings' face. This was the Lorenz he had known. Kind yet not the warmest person.
Lorenz: Only a matter of time...
Flemings: Trust me. We'll get out...
Flemings walked over to the injured woman and kneeled down next to her.
Flemings: H-..hi...
Flemings was a bit nervous. The woman was wounded yet she was very beautiful. He was a bit of a shy social outcast, and did not meet very many women in his life.
Flemings: Um....can...
Flemings gently grabbed the Romulan woman by her shoulders and carried her over to a metal slab (bed) He took out a small handkerchief from his shirt pocket and wiped sweat and blood from her face.
Flemings: I'm no doctor but she is badly hurt.
Lorenz: Hm. That makes two of us.
Flemings: Um...if you can hear me...what has happened to you?
<tag Rayna>
Suddenly, an alarm went off and the corridor could be seen glowing a crimson red.
Voice over com: Battle alert! Enemy ship entering short range sensors! Prepare invasion forces and weapon batteries!

Rayna had been drifting in and out of unconsciousness ever since being dumped back in the cell. She had no idea how much time had passed as the cell was almost all the time huddled in near-darkness. Her body was aching all over, and she couldn't distinguish between bruise or break any longer as every tiny movement made her cry out in anguish.
Shame fell over her on the moments that she did wake, though she couldn't remember what she had told Hanarj; her memory was a complete blank on that front. The next time she woke up, she felt extreme cold penetrate her skin, and she knew she was lying on a metal object. Someone was touching her and her first instinct was to bat him away, but she found she couldn't even lift her arm. In the sudden red glow of an alert light, she saw a hansome young face and a mass of pinkish hair. Had the situation been different, she would've laughed at her own silly thought; of course the person didn't have pink hair, it was probably blonde or grey.
Flemings: Um...if you can hear me...what has happened to you?
In the dim flickering light, the Romulan saw the young man's lips moving, as though he was speaking, but she still couldn't hear even the slightest of sounds. She shivered against the cold and started to struggle herself into a sitting position. "Lorenz," she managed to whisper, before she cried out again. Strong hands gently pushed her back down, and the young man shook his head. "No," she whispered again, "must save him...he'll die."
She saw him speak again, but in the darkness had no way of interpreting the movement of his lips. "I can't hear you," she finally managed, with great difficulty, as breathing became increasingly painful. The cell was starting to feel cold to her, but she knew she was probably experiencing the start of a fever, and her clothing - whatever remained of it - was still wet. The various burns and other bleeding injuries on her body were bothering her to no end, but even trying to scratch itching skin, or wipe away blood was hell on its own.
She focused on Flemings again, her eyes now shining with the pain she was experiencing. She tried to remain awake and tell him how they had been dragged from the Jefferson to tend to Lorenz, and how Billi Eviston had been rescued, but she was too weak. At last she closed her eyes and drifted back into unconsciousness.

The Romulan ambassador seemed to dart from one place to the other, without ever getting any work done for which he had originally been assigned to the Jefferson. Much to his own chargin, he had spent most of his time in sickbay whereas he really ought to be on the bridge and keep an eye on the Romulans. He caught Lieutenant Commander Pudlo call over the intercom, asking for permission to launch their newly cloaked shuttle. ~cloaked?~ he thought, then remembered what the chief engineer had been working on. ~at last, a rescue plan~ he then thought, as he approached Reynolds, after an hour of lingering and not really tending to anything.
"Commander, I must apollogize for not letting you know you were no longer needed in the shuttlebay," he said softly, as Reynolds gave him one of his odd looks again. "However, the doctor is doing much better now. I'm going back to her now, but there's company for you about." The Romulan nodded towards the small room he'd been having to himself when he was too groggy to even move. "There's a lovely ambassador over there who could use some assistance in filing reports," he smiled, "she's working on an autopsy report. Yes, that Reman that was found dead in the brig. I'm certain that the report will be quite interesting to say the least. The last we want is a diplomatic incident, so it will have to be thorough when it gets sent to the Empire, as well as Starfleet."
<Reynolds>
"Oh, you might want to take her with you to the mess hall or something, she hasn't been out of sickbay ever since arrival." With a small smile, Tedak walked away towards Rin and gently tapped her on the shoulder to get her attention, yet not wanting to startle the deaf trainee. "Commander Reynolds will be taking you on a tour of the ship, and will assist you with your report," he told her, "if you like that is. I'm going to the gym myself." He held up his injured arm. "I need to do some exercises with it, and I'm going to take the doctor with me. You and I will have dinner tonight, I promise, and then you can tell me a little more about yourself."
<Rin>
Smiling encouragingly, he nudged the girl towards Reynolds, then turned and headed for the CMO's little room. To his surprise, he found her awake and reading a PADD. "Interesting reading?" he asked her, as Sev came flying back to him. Nut was still perched on Reynolds bed and would come back to him soon enough. He caressed his beloved pet and smiled at Billi. "I've come to take you to the gym, and keep you to a certain promise you've made."
Tedak gave her a sly smile. "We're going to have some exercise, you and I. Nothing fancy, but enough to give us some training. You might want to bring a painkiller, just in case. Are you ready for some action?"
<Billi>
On the way out, they walked past Loskene, who was lying with his eyes closed on one of the biobeds. The admiral looked pale and extremely tired. ~I'll thank him later~ the diplomat thought, as he guided the CMO out of sickbay ~I think I can guess what it cost him, his action to find Billi. Without him, she'd probably be dead now~
