Lt. Collaan was sitting at the Science station on the Ravens' bridge when a text message addressed to her showed up on her console. Curious, she accessed it and saw that it was from Commander Dixon. It read:
Collaan, find out how a probe with a human inside could possibly have gotten aboard the Raven. I didn't order a replacement. Find out who requested it and how it was delivered. Now.
The Bajoran grimaced slightly. Alex didn't normally give orders in such an..order like... way. Things must not be going very well with the Admiral.
She started by accessing the Raven's maintenance records, then ordered a data link with Starbase Assailant's Maintenance Facility.
Weill was getting slightly irritated, he felt that this was going literally nowhere. He felt that he needed people to organise and work on the specific areas. He had called for a local expert from Assaliant to help on the genetic engineering, to help the Doctor. So he pulled away from the brig and with him he took the staff that were there.
Weill: "< All senior staff report to the observation lounge>"
Dixon: " Sir, i think we are making some headway"
Weill: " I hope so Commander, i am getting quite irritated, i just want to co-ordinate the information"
Weill and Dixon made their way to the observation lounge and they were first, than bit by bit some crew went i and Weill saw Commander majeski outside the door, he was hovering, Weill excused himslf than walked out to greet his illusive FO once again.
Weill: " Commander come into my ready room for a minute"
Majeski: " Yes sir"
They walked in and faced one another
Weill: " Commander what on the earth is going on, you are in a daze and have played little or no attention to my orders of late"
Weill: " I order reports and you send fewer than asked, and i dont even get reports from you let alone any original information"
Majeski: " Yes sir, but"
Weill: " No buts, either pull yourself together, this mission could have ended me and i wont allow that, now lets go to the observation lounge and lets get this mission done"
They walked into the observation lounge and the room was now full.
Weill: " Thankyou for coming at such short notice, but i think we need to regroup and find out where we are all at, i have also called in a Biological specialist to help you Doctor, so we can make some headway"
Amhil: " Thankyou captain, i am sure we can get more done"
Weill: " Well there will be various teams, Dixon and i will continue to interrogate the Admiral to get the information we need, i would like Commander majeski to co-ordinate the Doctors work and Commander Dantreks.............. All clear, now can i have reports, from Doctor Amhil, Commander Dixon, Commander Dantrek and than Commander Majeski"
Roz Drouet was sleeping in the shuttle that was making its way to the Raven. Art Cline was sitting next to her and watching her sleep. He gently kissed her forehead and she woke up.
Roz: We there yet?
Art: Not yet.
Roz: So why did you wake me up then?
Art: I didn't know what I did would wake you up.
Roz leaned back in her seat and looked at him.
Roz: You're the sound sleeper not me.
Art: You're no longer being hunted by your father or by anyone who followed him. Relax a bit.
Roz watched him carefully.
Roz: Easier said than done when you've been raised to always be on your guard in case someone attacks you.
Art: Then I guess you'll have to learn to change that tendency. The universe doesn't revolve around you you know.
Roz's eyes flashed green and Art realized his mistake. He started to apologize but Roz rose out of her seat, grabbed her bag, and walked to the far end of the shuttle to wait for the arrival of the shuttle at the ship. Art sighed and rubbed his face. Roz muttered to herself for the rest of the ride. They arrived at the ship a while later and Roz stepped off the shuttle before Art could grab her.
As The meeting ended Majeski decided to stop for food on his way down to sick bay he passed by the shuttlebay where he saw a beautiful redhead woman get off he actually stopped and gawked *wait a minute why am I looking at a human* Blinking he shook his head and didn't think nothing of it and wandered to sickbay to wait for Amhil and Dixion
On the way be bumped into Lt peter belina "off" Belina walked straight into Majeski and fell over and Majeski looked down at him and picked him up "please continue mr Balina and wandered into sick back
2 hours later
Majeski stood beside Amhil and nodded she held a vial, and she looked at him "You want me to make a what?"
Majeski stood with a calming expression on his face "A truth serium"
Amhil's expression was of slight shock and horror "Sir to use on an admiral"
Just then Dixion walked in withouteeven looking at dixion majeski simply said "Where gonna combine you efforts with good Dr Amhil to get the dear old Admiral to talk"
Dixion looked blankly at Majesk then looked at Dr Amhil with a panicked look on her face.
"Umm sir May I ask?" Dixion started
"Oh yes, you may" Majeski said
""And how do we plan to make the admiral talk"
"Truth serium" Majeski said
"On an Admiral" Dixion said...
"He's in coustody, it's perfectly alright commander" Majeski said
"You want me to make what?" Amhil couldn't believe what Majeski was saying.
"A truth serum." Majeski replied calmly while Alex walked in. To use a truth serum on an admiral was not something you did everyday. Majeski told Dixon what he wanted to do, and his reaction was the same as Amhil's.
"On an admiral?" Dixon asked and frowned.
"He's in custody. It's perfectly all right, commander." Majeski replied, but Amhil shook her head.
"Still....Does the Captain know of this?" She asked and Majeski turned to her again. He waited for a moment before replying.
"No, not yet."
"Well in that case, no....sir. I won't be making any of this truth serum without the captain's permission. It is an admiral we're talking about." Amhil answered and for a second she and Majeski stared at each other. Finally Majeski gave in and sighed.
"All right, doctor. Have it your way, it doesn't matter anyway." He said and Amhil smiled.
"Thank you, sir. I was planning to give my report to the captain soon enough anyway. After we meet with the biological specialist I will ask him about this matter." Amhil said.
Roz looked around the room momentarily when she stepped off and saw a very peculiar person pass by. He was about 5 inches taller than her, extremely handsome, and blonde hair. She noticed he looked back at her and then he continued on his way. She didn't want to wait for Art to come off the shuttle so she pulled the strap of her pack over her shoulder and made her way down the nearest hallway. She managed to find her temporary quarters on the ship and realized that she should try to find the captain as soon as possible. She put down her bag, straightened her jacket, and walked down the hall.
Roz: Computer would you tell me where Captain Gus Weil is?
Computer: He is located on the observation deck at this moment.
Roz didn't want to lose him but as she was rounding a corner to the observation deck, her combadge went off.
Gus: Captain Weil to Ms. Drouet. Please report to sickbay.
Roz sighed as she walked back to the turbolift. She pulled her hair back and waited as it sped off to sickbay. A minute later, the doors opened and Roz stepped out and walked down to sickbay. She saw a woman holding a vial and talking with the peculiar person she had seen earlier. There was also a young man that she remembered from when he had been on the Hepta.
Amhil: ...After we meet with the biological specialist I will ask him about this matter.
They paused once they noticed her.
Amhil: May I help you?
Roz: No, but from what I've heard you need mine. I'm Rosalyn Drouet, call me Roz for short. I'm the biological specialist.
The uncomfortable silence that was left when Majeski requested to drug the Admiral was filled with the unexpected entrance of a civilian that Alex actually recognized. Roz Drouet hadn't changed much since his brief stint aboard the Hepta as a cadet. Dr. Eddons turned and said "May I help you?"
Roz replied "No, but from what I've heard you need mine. I'm Rosalyn Drouet, call me Roz for short. I'm the biological specialist."
Alex smiled slightly. She hasn't changed at all. He stepped forward and put out his hand, which she took. "Hi Roz. It's been a while. How are things?" Alex pulled his now sore hand back. She had a strong grip.
"Not bad, Alex. How are you?" Alex could see her glance at his neck, and her eyes widened slightly in surprise. "You're a commander already? You were just a cadet not long ago!"
Alex shrugged. "Just lucky, I guess." Now that he was a closer, Alex could see that she had changed a little. Roz's eyes were tense and looked a little worried, and she was standing with a readiness that said she would be prepared if someone attacked her. He resolved to himself that he would not surprise her unnecessarily. He turned and said "Roz, this is the Raven's first officer, Commander Majeski and the Chief Medical Officer, Amhil Eddons." The Raven's officers stepped forward and shook Roz's hand as well.
There was another silence, that Alex decided to fill. "Sorry Roz, but I wasn't aware that you had been assigned to the Raven. What aspect of biological science will you be studying while you're here?"
Roz nodded to the CMO and to Majeski. She was still surprised that Alex was now a commander. Everyone she knew was changing while she herself didn't.
Roz: I'm not really specializing more in one area of biology than anything else. Pretty much you name it and I know something about it. Especially when it comes to human and xenobiology. On my way here, I read up on what has happened so far. Am I right in assuming that you still haven't caught whomever was hiding inside the probe?
Now that the Admiral was detained and the likelyhood of the Raven being forced into doing something was small, Dan felt like it was a good idea to the Engines and Communications back up just in case. Since the Captain ordered the lock-downs, he would have to authorize their removal. So Dan headed to Sickbay.
Once inside, Dan saw that the Captain, Amhil and Alex were all there.
Dan: Captain, given that the Admiral is detained, I would like permission to bring the Engines and Communications back online.
Dan then noticed a civilian standing there that he didnt recognize. This must be the Biological Specialist the Captain mentioned, Dan thought.
Dan: Greetings. I am Commander Dan Trek, Chief Engineer.
Roz stared at the tall, orange...person in front of her. Then she regained her senses and introduced herself, or rather the Captain did. As the Captain, Commander, and Alex left, Roz watched the Commander. There was something about him that seemed oddly familiar. Then she turned back to the CMO of the ship.
Roz: I assume the person who hid inside of the false probe is still at large?
Amhil: He is.
Roz thought for a moment and couldn't come up with anything.
Roz: And you can't find him on sensors yet.
There was something pulling at the back of her mind. Something to answer why they couldn't find the person who had hid in the probe but she couldn't grasp it. Suddenly, the lights in sickbay started to flicker. Roz pulled out her phaser and her eyes went green. Amhil hit her combadge.
Amhil:=Eddons to the Captain=
There was no response, only static. Roz's eyes slowly scanned the room. She tried her combadge.
Roz: =Roz to Art=
Roz: Are the sickbay doors locked?
Amhil: No, why would they?
That's when they heard footsteps outside the door.
Alex walked out of Sickbay with an extremely preoccupied look on his face. The captain's order to drug the Admiral was completely out of character. No matter how one tried to rationalize it, coercing a confession out of anyone like that was not legal in the Federation. Instead of proceeding to the brig, Alex went to his office on Deck 4 and spent a few seconds cleaning up a little before tapping his comm badge. "Dixon to Weill, could you come to my office please?"
There was a brief pause. "I'm quite busy right now, Commander. Can this wait?"
"I'm sorry captain, but it can't. Please come to my office, right now."
There was another, longer pause. The the captain replied "All right, commander, but this had better be very important."
Alex waited nervously behind his desk. This wasn't going to be a pretty conversation.
After a few minutes, Captain Weill entered Alex's office and looked around in annoyance. Alex stood at attention and said in a shaky voice "Captain, I'm afraid that I am going to have to refuse your order to administer truth serum to Admiral Hallis."
Weill stood in dumbfounded silence, staring at his normally obedient Science officer. Then finally said "What...?"
Alex's voice hardened a little "I said that I can't accept the order to drug Admiral Hallis. That is a violation of Federation law, no matter how you try to rationalize it. Find some other method to get information out of the Admiral."
Captain Weill came out of his silence with an angry look on his face. "Commander Dixon, I order you to carry out my command."
Dixon stared back, expressionless. "No."
Alex held his breath as he waited for the captain to respond.
Dan would have welcomed the oppurtunity at the time to get somewhat acquainted with Ms Drouet, but that would have to wait. There were ship's system to be fixed, so socialization could wait till after he was off-duty and Joktel had to deal with all the picky little details of keeping the ship from falling apart.
Dan strode back into Engineering. He walked up to the Duty Engineer's console Paria was working at and leaned on the console.
Paria: So what's the latest?
Dan: We're bringing the engines and communications back online, finally.
Paria: Good, because the warp core looks depressing when its like that.
She indicated the fact that when the warp core was offline, it was a dark, stone grey. Engineering was literally dimmer than way, as its luminescence eliminated the surrounding area.
Paria now had people moving everywhere, bringing the two key systems back online.
Mele: Commander, we've got a power fluctuation around Sickbay. The Comm system appears to be dead too.
Dan: What? =/\= Engineering to Sickbay =/\=
Dan: =/\= Engineering to Sickbay. Amhil respond =/\=
Majeski couldn't belive his normal gaurd against humans seemed to crumble with this woman, her brown eyes and read hair and her smile was kinda of intoxicating she breifly shook it off and then concentrated the task at hand and he was even more surprised when Amhil fianlly gave in and agreed to make the serium with Roz and put it in his food
Closing his eyes briefly he took in the air all he could smell was Roz and the thought that worried him the most is he liked her scent
his thoughts where Jarred when the lights started to flickered and whent out
Amhil:=Eddons to the Captain=
There was no response, only static. Roz's eyes slowly scanned the room. She tried her combadge.
Roz: =Roz to Art=
Roz: Are the sickbay doors locked?
Amhil: No, why would they?
That's when they heard footsteps outside the door
Majeski turned and looked his eyes cold and grey rested on the hilt of his sword that he carried with him at all times and pulled it out slightly
"Dr Eddons" he said calmly "Get you self into a hiding place"
"Sir I can defend-"
Majeski never really ever lost his cool but when his orders are counter commanded concerning ones saftey it made him see red and he cut her off in mid sentance but he kept his voive cool and calm "Doctor....I gave you and order you are to do it NOW"
Majeski looked at Roz who 's phaser was pointing at the door her green eyes where filled with uncertainty and fear....but there were somthing else behind those eyes
She nodded to him holding up her phaser leveling it with the door and Majeski rose his Katana in front of him ready for anything
Roz slowly raised her phaser as the footsteps neared the door. She glanced momentarily at Majeski then heard scratching at the door. The end of what looked like a crowbar came through the doors and pushed them open. Then something was thrown into the room and it gave off a blinding light. Roz dropped her phaser as she covered her eyes in pain. She heard the sound of footsteps running towards her and her arms were grabbed. She kept her eyes closed and she concentrated on sounds. She tried to hit but missed every time. She couldn't find her phaser so she pulled out a knife from her boot. She still wasn't hitting anything and she could hear Majeski was also having a bit of trouble fighting these unseen beings. She finally hit something and heard it go down. Roz finally got sick and tired of fighting like a blind man and hit her fighting high. Her eyes went white and blond streaks came into her hair. She finally saw the attackers and attacked them with uncontrolled fury and skill. When her attackers were finally down, she turned to Majeski and saw he had defeated his attackers. The lights came back on and Roz made herself calm down. Majeski watched in stunned silence as her eyes went from white to yellow to green to brown.
Roz: I'm not doing that again. Are you ok Commander?
Weill: " <Security teams to sickbay and Commander Majeski's position, i repeat security to Commander Majeski's current location>"
Majeski: " <Captain, dont worry we have the assliants under control>"
Weill: " <And how is Ms Drouet?>"
Majeski: " <She is ok sir>"
Weill was getting irritated, why all the assliants and had that drug been administered to the Admiral, or rather had he had, his meal, than he thought, how is the Doctor
Weill: "< Doctor are you ok>"
Amhil: " < Dont worry captain i am ok, i shall be down to the brig ASAP>"
Weill: "< Thankyou Doctor>"
Communications Officer: " Captain, a station"
Weill: " On this console"
The face of a young newly graduated Klingon officer appeared, it was obvious he was young as his teeth were in a very good state, as Klingons often develop quite pointed teeth while still in their youth, also he was unusual as his hair was well groomed, his face also had an air of humanity as he didnt have an agressive look, Weill thought the Lts period on earth must have had a lasting effect.
Zorial: " Captain i am Lt Jg Zorial, i was wondering weather to wait and meet the USS Raven when it returns or"
Weill: " Please make you way here by replacement shuttle ASAP, i think we shall need you"
Zorial: " Understood Sir"
Weill: " Oh and congratulations on your graduation, the Academy Commandant has told me good things"
Mele: We've got a power drain in the Comm system near Sickbay
Dan: Reroute power to that section.
Mele: No effect.
Mele: Reroute the ODN pathways then
Mele: Nothing. It's being disrupted from an outside source.
Dan: Why do things have to happen all at once? Fine. I'm going up there then.
Dan grabbed his Engineer's vest. It was loaded with just about every useful handheld tool available to him. It freed him from carrying a tool kit, and carried more the usual tool kit. He headed for Sickbay.
When he reached Deck 5, he approached with caution. There didnt seem to be anything wrong. He entered Sickbay.
Ms. Drouet and Commander Majeski stood near the entrance, with 4 people lying unconscious on the floor around them.
Dan: What happened?
Majeski: The comm went dead. Then, someone entered sickbay and blinded us. They attacked us, but we fought them off.
Dan looked down at the floor at them. 4 Human males.
Dan: It would appear that they are responsible for the comm problems.
Dan scanned each one thoroughly with a tricorder. When he got to the fourth, he detected a device under his sleeve. He pulled it out. It was a cylindrical device, 2 inches across and an inch thick. He stood, looking at it
Dan: A jamming device, designed to interfere with our comm system and power systems. It's power output would indicate that its damage radius was approximately 10 meters.
Majeski: Can you deactivate it?
Dan: I believe I can. It's power matrix is basically the same as our ODN network.
Dan pulled a ODN Decoupler from his vest. He shut down the device.
Dan: There we go. This shouldn't give us any problems anymore.
Roz found it a touch difficult to look at Majeski as she had sworn that she would never fight at that level again for fear of accidentally causing harm to someone she cared about. As Amhil left, she looked down at the damage she had caused and cringed slightly.
Majeski: Well, let's clean up shall we?
Roz looked at the dagger in her hand and wiped it off on the end of her shirt. She pulled off her jean jacket and threw it in a corner of the room. Majeski stared at her. She was wearing a light green tanktop. She sighed, pulled her hair back in a braid, and started working on cleaning up part of the mess she had caused. Dan entered in the meantime and disabled what had caused the poweroutage and the communication bloick. Once all the bodies had been cleaned up, Roz examined one that had been left alive, something she hadn't been able to do in her mental state. As she looked at the body, it changed slightly so that the form of the face was different.
Roz: Commander, would you come here for a minute?
Majeski walked over and he looked at the man.
She motioned at his face and Chris looked carefully then recognized the slight difference in the form of the face.
Roz: That little clue helps a good deal.
She smiled as she looked back at Majeski. She then tilted her head.
Roz: Is there something else I can call you besides Commander?
When Zoarial recieved his first order from the captain from the USS Raven, he imideately closed the communicator uplink and he went back to the communication room in the starbase Assailant.
Zoarial: Hello Commander, I would like to know where I can find a shuttle
Commander: I'm sorry sir, I can't just give you a shuttle you know, the fact that you have pips doesn't mean you have the right to aquire a shuttle whenever you want to.
Zoarial: I think you don't know who is standing in front of you sir, I'm Lieutenant JG Zoarial, I might be a fresh graduate from the academy, but that doesn't mean you have to ignore my request.
Commander: I am really sorry sir, but I really can't give permission for you to leave with a shuttle. What are your means?
Zoarial: I must have been unclear, I need the shuttle to get to the USS Raven of the raven squadron.
Commander: Every person can say that, do you have some prove.
Zoarial: Sir, I am needed on the USS Raven, they are in need of a CNO, and they requested me to go to their ship as soon as possible, I just closed the uplink to my captain.
Commander: Yes, but that doesn't mean that...
At this time Zoarial was losing his patience a little bit, he was off course a klingon, his ill temper suddenly came up. He stepped towards the commander and raised his voice:
Zoarial: Listen sir, I don't care if you value your life or not, personnaly I can't pursue you to give me the shuttle, unless I use brute force. There is a little bit of civilisation left in my body, that restrains me from this. I will never attack you, but I do warn you that Captain Gus Weill would not be pleased if he heared you refused this shuttle to me!
The commander seemed paralysed when he heard this name.
Commander: GGGGus Weill??? I'm absolutely sorry! You can find your shuttle on flight deck 2, I will make sure everything is ready for your departure in 15 minutes!
Zoarial was pleased to see that using the name of this captain caused obedience, but he was dissapointed that he wasn't able to persuade the Commander himself.
After Zoarial had made sure that everything was packed, he went to flight deck 2. The first thing he saw was his shuttle, and it seemed that the only thing missing was a red carpet.
As he started the shuttle he found everything was ready for departure and he entered the coordinates of the USS Raven.
Finally Zoarial was able to leave, and after he was away from the starbase's boundaries, he contacted Gus Weill.
Zoarial: Lt JG Zoarial reporting sir, I just left the starbase assailant, I will be on the USS Raven in no more than 3 days
Weill: " <Glad to hear it Mr Zorial, we have had some trouble here but i wont explain it over subspace, could yu increase warp power to the maximum you can substain for the next 2 hours, just to get here faster>"
Zorial: " <Yes sir, i shall be at you point in 3 hours 14 minutes>"
Weill: " <Good, could you report to me as soon as you come aboard, i will need you to accompany me for the first few hours just to keep things going at this end>"
Zorial: "< Of course captain, Zorial out>"
Weill was pleased that he had a new officer on their way, and also he hoped that th situation would be resolved, as his first plan would be to set course for the planet they were orginally going for, as theses assaliants would stop, if they got to their homeworld.
Dantrek: "< Captain, may i request security to engineering>"
Weill: "< Of course Commander, they will be there shortly>"
Dantrek: " <Thankyou Captain>"
Weill: "< Ensign haprer can you have a security team at all the sensitive areas of the ship, should theses intruders come again i want to be ready>"
Zoarial had completely forgotten about warp speed, how stupid, at full impulse speed it would have cost him ages to get to the Raven, but now he would be there in a little over 3 hours.
It was necesary to kill time. Zoarial had slept well this night, so he wasn't able to fall asleep again.
He thought about this new mission he would enter. Zoarial heard that the USS Raven was sent out to rediscover a mutated human race, but this was all he knew, and it was all that was necesary to know at this point, he knew he would get a full briefing when he arrived at the vessel. Zoarial wondered how long it would take the shuttle to get him to the Raven.
Zoarial: Computer, please tell me how long it will take us to arrive at the USS Raven
Computer: 2 hours and 46 minutes to go Lt JG Zoarial
Zoarial: Thank you
Zoarial wanted to make a good impression with his new crew, so he prepared some possible situations. He would only have to enter the coordinates of the planet and everything would be allright.
Maybe the coordinates weren't known yet, Zoarial thought and he tried to think of the best manuevre to locate the planet as quickly as possible. The spiral flight he used to locate the missing ship with the Hepta wouldn't be sufficient because he would then search in a big area that was allready covered by the on-board computer.
How would he be needed when they would search the planet for lifeforms, and what would he have to do when the lifeforms should turn out to be hostile?
Zoarial: Computer can you please keep me up to date with the remaining flighttime?
Computer: Yes sir. Arrival in 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Zoarial was almost there now, he hoped everything would be to his liking. There would be no time for introduction though, he had to deliver hard labour, maybe he would be able to meet them at dinner and have a swift conversation.
Computer: Arrival at the USS Raven in 56 minutes.
Zoarial started to make ready to board the Raven now, he organised everything in the cockpit, switched off all unnecesary computersystems.
Computer: Arrival at the USS Raven in 20 minutes
Now was the time to make sure everything was ready to attach to the Raven. Zoarial switched back to impulse speed as he steadily approached the vessel.
Zoarial: Lt JG Zoarial to the USS Raven, asking permission to fly aboard
Officer: Approved, I will open hatch 5 for you and mark the pathway, please follow the lines sir.
Zoarial: Thank you...
Officer: And sir...
Officer: Welcome aboard the USS Raven!
Zoarial: Thank you very much, I hope you will enjoy my stay as much as I will!
The fresh CNO grabbed his stuff and got of the shuttle. He immideately contacted Captain Gus Weill.
Zoarial: =/\=Lt JG Zoarial to Captain Gus Weill, reporting as promised. I have just got aboard the USS Raven. =/\=
It was now time for Zoarial to go to the bridge, but he liked to discover the ship first, that would come soon enough, he wouldn't be on post 24/7, he hoped. As Zoarial walked to the turbo lift he greeted fellow crewmembers. The lift's doors slowly slided open and Zoarial walked inside an empty lift.
Zoarial: "Flight deck"
As the doors closed, somebody came running towards the lift, heavily breathing and shouting:
Officer: "hold the lift hold the lift!!!"
But the doors had allready closed and Zoarial felt a little bit guilty as he was zooming towards the flight deck.
He left the lift and walked towards the bridge, the corridors were empty on this part of the ship which was not very odd, everyone was at their posts because they were busy with the mission.
Zoarial stepped inside the bridge and saw it wasn't very different to the bridge on the Hepta. He walked towards his chair in the middle of the room and asked for silence.
Zoarial: "Ladies and Gentlemen can I have your attention? I will introduce myself, I am Zoarial your new Chief Navigations Officer. Throughout this mission you will have to work with me. I'm looking forward to our coorperation and I will make sure everybody here will put in as much effort as they can to make this mission a succes! Go back to your work now, anyone who doesn't think that he or she has any work, report to me, I will have enough tasks for you.
After this short speech, the tall klingon seated himself in the chair and looked around.
Suddenly a crewmember entered the bridge, he walked straight to Zoarial, who was ooking in the other direction, and as the man turned the chair to sit down, he saw there was allready someone in the chair. He shouted towards the others in the bridge, asking for explanation.
Officer: "What is this man doing in my chair?"
Zoarial: "Your chair? I think you didn't hear my introduction! I am Zoarial, your new CNO
The officer stumbled back in amazement.
Officer: "I'm sorry sir, Let me introduce myself; I am David Vegas, attending CNO, I didn't know you would be on the bridge allready, I would be here sooner but some idiot didn't hold the lift for me! But that doesn't matter"
Zoarial laughed: "That idiot would be me, I'm sorry for the inconvenience, nice to meet you though!
David blushed: "I didn't make a good first impression did I, calling you an idiot and so sir?"
Zoarial: "Never mind Mr Vegas, you can make it up to me by telling me everything about this ship and giving me a bit of feeling for this ship.
David sighed from relief: "Most certainly I will try Mr Zoarial! But you should really ask our captain, he knows everything about this ship"
Zoarial: "I have to speak to him anyway, I need a little briefing about the current situation and plans. You can go now, you look exhausted, take a rest Mr Vegas! That's an order"
Bowing, David Vegas left the bridge. And as Zoarial turned back to the consol, he called Gus Weill.
Zoarial: =/\= Lt JG Zoarial here, is it possible to get a short briefing about the current status and plans for this mission? If you want to join me, I am now on the bridge =/\=
Weill: "< Mr Zoarial, i am not usually in the habit of attending other officers, you may join me, i am in engineering with Commander Dantrek>"
Zoarial: "< Yes sir, sorry sir, on my way>"
Weill: "< No problem Lt, we have a situation on our hands so make sure you are armed, there should be an officer on duty at the CNO station, please ask the officer i question to furnish you with such an item>"
Zoarial: "< Yes sir>"
Weill thought perhaps he had been a tad harsh but than he thought, he has to set a certain standard. Especially from new Officers, than he remembered when he first joined the Olympia as a new Chief Operations Officer, Captain Duke Nova as he was than, was an imposing figure, especially to a new Lt.
Soon enough Weill saw some security teams enter the main area, Dantrek was observing, making sure they didnt get in the way.
Weill: " Commander, how is everything going, i hope we are secure and i do hope the ship is running we need to get to the destination this mission has tried to allude us going to"
Dantrek: " Yes Captain, i am sure that i am ready to go, and also i feel the engines are ready, they must be ready, i must say i doubt the raven has stood still so long in active mission"
Weill: " Yes you are right, but i think we have had enough activity within to keep us busy, i am hoping the planet will answer the problems we have had and I have a hunch that the Admiral does not want us to go, in conjunction with the Ambassador of course, they haven’t wanted us to go near it"
Dantrek: " Yes i very unusual, but the Ambassadors job is to hide real intetions"
Suddenly Zoarial walked in and together Weill and Dantrek turned around to meet the new officer. He was walking with a very strong composure, he also was quite overbearing, as he stood over Captain Weill, Weill thought to himself that he had to very large people either side, as he was only about 5,8 and they were well over 6 foot.
Weill: " Glad you made Mr Zoarial, congratulations on graduating, an achievement when such high standards are held, this is our resident miracle worker, Mr Dantrek"
Dantrek: “ Nice to meet you Mr Zorial, good to have a CNO again”
Zoarial: " Indeed an honour to meet you Commander, your methods are spoken of in S47 academy, especially by a fellow class mate, a Dr Jason Black"
Dantrek: " Oh really, Jason Black, hmm, oh yes i know him"
Weill: " Well gentleman to buisness, Mr Zoarial, we currently have to get to a planet populated by Genetically modified humans, but on our way, we became ebroiled in a scandal with an Admiral Hallis and an Ambassador Deleki, both very important people, we currently have them under lock and key. but in the last few hours two of the crew were attacked by very light persons, that has been delt with, but we still have to find a Romulan runaway, but i fear he may be dead as he has been gone for some time, i would like you to head a team to find this Romulan and if you find hi alive take him to the brig and if dead to sickbay"
Zoarial struck Dan as a confident young man. And Dan did indeed know Jason Black. Jason's brother was an Engineer who had served under Dan at one point, and had talked of Jason often.
Security was now present to provide additional assurance that the assailants didn't create a problem in Engineering. But given the fact that they weren't even in Sickbay when they started creating problems, the assailants' physical presence made no difference.
Dan worked steadily to get the Warp Core back online. He stood at the Warp Core Diagnostic Console.
Dan: Power the dilithium matrix.
Dan: Alright, open the Matter and antimatter injectors.
The stone-grayness of the Warp Core began to change. The color came back, and the swirling effect began. He looked down at his console.
Dan: Balance the matter/antimatter intermix ratio.
Joktel: Working on it.......intermix ratio stable.
Paria: Warp core reaction stable.
Dan: Good. Now open the Plasma Transfer Conduits.
A low hum reverberated through Engineering as the hatches opened. As the Plasma flowed, the conduits glowed red.
Joktel: Warp field stable, sir.
Dan: Excellent ::his tapped the console:: =/\= Engineering to Weill. The Warp Core is online and stable =/\=
Zoarial was on his way now with a team of about 8 men (including David Vegas, he insisted on accompanying Zoarial).
When he walked from the bridge to engineering Zoarial had allready discovered some parts of the ship, and because of it's size he would need to search everything systematicly, and make sure that nobody was able to enter the parts he had allready searched.
Zoarial: "Computer please identify everyone who goes inside a turbolift. If Romulan, please lock the lift and let the Romulan crewmember contact me."
So the security team was searching every deck, starting with the flightdeck, because there were simply the most people. He couldn't find anyone resembling the discription Captain Gus Weill gave him, so he moved on to the second deck and so on.
The fugitive could also be on the shuttledeck, but after an analysis of the computer and a thorough check of every shuttle and corner, they couldn't find the living or dead romulan runaway.
Zoarial had given up the hope of finding the Romulan alive, because they had searched nearly every deck and they couldn't find him. Wherever the person was, he was either hiding or put out of sight.
The klingon officer thought that the Romulan could now only be on the freight deck, there were simply more hidingplaces there, than there were on the whole ship so he requested the computer for an analysis of Romulan lifeforces on the freightdeck.
The klingon knew he could now only find the body of the Romulan fugitive on the deck so he rushed to a turbolift and headed towards the freight deck. When he was there he ordered the team to form a line and, while keeping contact, move from one wall to another. Zoarial wondered where the Romulan would be hiding. Or where he was stashed away.
Eveybody was walkign very slowly and checking every inch, Zoarial had nearly given up all hope that the person would still be on the ship, but then a young officer called Joe Lamb, reported to him.
Joe: "Mr Zoarial, I think I have found the corpse of the Romulan behind some sacks, and he doesn't look too happy."
Zoarial: "Show it to me!"
As the team removed a large pile of junk, the body was slowly uncovered. Now the fugitive was discovered, the liftscreening was no longer necesary.
Zoarial: "Computer, deactivate the turbolift barring."
Zoarial hoped the man would still be alive, so he held a mirror in front of his nose and mouth. He saw a little moisture appearing on the mirror and he hoped he would be in time to rescue this poor fellow.
He turned to the team who were waiting impatiencely.
Zoarial: "Ok team, bring this guy to sickbay immideately, be carefull, I think he is of more use dead then alive!"
Somebody said: "But sir, didn't Captain Gus tell us that we had to take it to the brig if alive?"
Zoarial: "I know, but we can't put him there in this poor condition. Quickly go to sickbay and stay with him, take him to the brig anyway if he forms any threat, but make sure you protect the people in sickbay!"
After they ran away as fast as possible, Zoarial tapped his commbadge.
Zoarial: =/\= Lt JG Zoarial to Captain Weill, We have found the romulan fugitive, more dead then alive so I ordered the team to get him to sickbay. They will stay with him to protect anyone if he will be aggressive when he wakes up. =/\=
Lt. Collaan rubbed her eyes blearily as she finished up her report. Commander Dixon had asked her to investigate how a probe with an intruder aboard had gotten aboard the Raven. She had finally tracked the answer down, but it didn't make much sense. After a quick review, she posted it to Commander Dixon.
***Science Office, Deck 4***
The chime on Alex's console went off. His eyes automatically searched out the cause and saw that a report from Lt. Collaan had shown up. Accessing it, he gave it a quick read. Surprised, he read it again, the tapped his comm badge and said "Dixon to Captain."
"Go ahead, Commander" came the abrupt reply.
"I have some information regarding the probe with the intruder that was aboard the ship. The reason I have don't recall getting it as a replacement is because I never asked for it" he informed the Captain.
"Keep going, Commander" the Captain ordered tersely.
"Yes sir. The probes were verified when we left Assailant on our first mission with the Raven B. We've only expended one so far, and it wasn't that one. The serial number has been checked, and that wasn't the original probe we were issued. The new probe with the intruder inside must have been transported aboard and exchanged" Alex reported.
"Where did this start?" the captain inquired.
"Unknown sir. Collaan found an strange energy reading focussed on the probe storage area about 2 hours before we left Assailant. Coincidentally, the energy surge occurred about an hour after Admiral Hallis' ship docked at Assailant. She couldn't carry on the investigation due to access code problems." Dixon finished.
"Interesting. Pass my thanks on to Lt. Collaan. Weill out."
Roz looked over at the computer and pushed the man into Majeski's grasp. She walked over and sat down and tried to access other files on the Gemini project she had heard about. She sighed as she saw that she couldn't access them due to not having enough clearance. Meanwhile, security had come and taken the man away. She tapped her combadge.
Roz:=Roz to Art=
Art's reply came quickly.
Art: Oh so you're deciding to talk to me now?
Roz blushed and turned so she wasn't directly in Majeski's gaze.
Roz: Only for this reason. I need you to hack into the computer for me so I can access some files.
Art: I'll be there in a few minutes.
Roz: Roz out.
Majeski walked over and touched her shoulder.
Majeski: That didn't sound too friendly. So, who is Art?
Roz: A friend.
Art arrived in sickbay a bit later and he sat down at the computer and he was in within minutes. He then moved so Roz could look at the files. He and Majeski looked each other over. Roz read through the files and she smiled. She tapped her combadge.
Roz:=Roz to Captain=
Roz: I think I know why we can't find the person who hid in the probe. He has the ability to subtley and minutely change his DNA so the person we're actually scanning for doesn't exist.
Weil: Can you think of any way to find him?
Roz ran thoughts through her mind and she came up with an idea.
Roz: Yes, but not by scanning for him or using the computer. I need to speak to the person we caught in sickbay and attacked us.
Weil: Go ahead. Weil out.
Roz turned around and she read confusion on both Majeski's and Art's faces.
Majeski: I don't think our friend will be very willing to talk to us.
Roz: Which is why I'm going in alone to talk to him.
She got up and went to the replicator and had it create some thiopental sodium, otherwise known as truth serum. She turned around with the vial and walked out of the room.
Art and Majeski ran after her. They saw her hair whip around a corner and they followed but when they turned it, she was gone and her combadge was lying on the floor. Art picked it up.
Art: Not again.
