It was very odd.
When the landingparty arrived at the town square, everythign seemed just as normal as if there wasn't anything to go on a mission for. Zoarial could remember one visit to earth once, and everything he saw here was exactly the same. As if there was created a second earth. The weird thing was that everybody was minding their own business, they seemed not to have noticed the group of men in uniforms, as if they had allready been expecting them. After a lot of orientating and being ignored, there walked a small trio of people towards them, two men and one girl.
Galdak: " My name is Galdak, leader of this world, i presume you are Captain Weill"
Weill: " yes Captain Weill of the United Federation of Planets"
Galdak: " Yes we knew, we have had some information which flew down from a ship in orbit which exploded,a Romulan vessel, we took as much data as we could"
Weill: " Yes we wondered about the vessel"
Galdak: " We took its computer core, we ont like to leave the planet and go long distances but orbit was ok............ may i show you this way"
Weill: " Thankyou"
Zoarial wasn't ready to go with them yet, he wanted to look around some more, so he turned to Galdak.
Zoarial: Galdak, Sir, is it okay if I look around a bit before joining you? I'm really curious about other planets and though I have seen planet earth, I wonder whether there are much differences with this planet.
Galdak: Preferably not, I have a prepared schedule, but it's would be very unfriendly if I would ignore your needs, as I am a friendly host, I will let Boldos here acompany you. He will show you around the city and you will rejoin the group in an hour.
Though satisfied, the klingon found it curious that Galdak wouldn't let him go about on his own. Well, nevermind now, he hoped he still was able to enjoy his visit.
As the group continued their stroll, Zoarial and Boldos took a left turn and ended up in the main shopping street. This didn't attract Zoarial's attention at all, it was a narrow street packed with people. The big difference with all the other planets Zoarial had been to, was that there were only human people here, as if the USS Raven was the first ship ever to reach the planet. After another left turn, Zoarial found himself in a broader street with dozens of pubs on both sides. This was more to his liking and they entered the nearest one. The interior of the pub was very darkcoloured and unfriendly, Zoarial thought about leaving but he felt a little compelled to the place. The people inside (contrary to the people outside) didn't just not pay attention to Zoarial, but they completely ignored him, talking amongst eachother about business that surely wasn't very healthy.
Zoarial sat down at the bar and the barkeeper pretended like he didn't see him, but after a loud cough he reluctantly asked Zoarial what he wanted to drink.
Zoarial: I would like to order a local distilled beverage.
The bartender looked to Boldos, who was standing next to Zoarial and nodded. He then turned back to Zoarial and told him they had one specialty, called Wundi. When Zoarial recieved the drink, and Boldos also obtained one, he carefully took a sip and felt it tingeling in his mouth. There wasn't really a flavour to which you could refer it, but it was totally different to any substance Zoarial was used to. From the corner of his eye he saw Boldos downing it in one gulp. Zoarial didn't want to look like some foreign idiot, so he copied Boldos, but immediately whished he hadn't, because it was the best way to show you were a foreigner. A kind of burning feeling rised in his throat and for a second or 5 he wasn't able to breath properly. When the weird feeling was finally over he found himself lying on the floor and felt a hand jerking him up.
Boldos smiled: Now lets get back to the rest of your party.
Zoarial: In a moment, I have to pay first
Boldos: Don't bother, they don't accept your starfleet money. I'll pay this one for you because you gave us quite a laugh.
Zoarial had the feeling that he didn't really like this gift, and felt some anger towards Boldos since he had tricked him in drinking that stuff. The weird thing though was that Zoarial didn't feel any other side effect of the drink, he wasn't at all light in his head, and he guessed that the slight headache came from his fall to the round. They exited the place, and Zoarial noticed the air was a lot fresher than inside, something he didn't notice when entering the pub.
After a five minute walk Zoarial and Boldos entered a place which looked like the townhall. The others were standing in the main hall and Zoarial joined them. Dan poked him in the side.
Dan: What have you been up to?
Zoarial hesitated whether he should tell the story to Dan, but refrained from it.
Zoarial: Nothing... nothing

Alex materialized in in the midst of a large open space which seemed to be completely deserted.
He was about to tap his comm badge to call the captain, but changed his mind. If Captain Weill was in the midst of negotiations, a sudden call might interrupt them. Pulling out his tricorder, Alex began scanning for Federation comm badges, knowing that he could track down the rest of the Raven landing party that way. However, he was surprised to discover that there were 4 comm badges within range besides his own. As far as Alex knew, only the Captain, DanTrek and Zoarial had beamed down.
His tricorder was showing 3 comm badges in close proximity to one another, which Alex assumed was the landing party led by Captain Weill. The fourth was at the edge of his tricorder range and beneath the planet surface by several meters.
Alex stood as he decided what to do. His options were to call the captain, call the Raven, or go find out on his own.
Making his decision quickly, Alex started moving as quickly and discreetly as possible towards the distant comm badge signal, unconsciously loosening his phaser in it holster on his hip and making sure that his small hand phaser was securely concealed in it's wrist holster.

Weill walked alone with Galdak, he was an older man with greying hair but from his face he still looked young, his words were well pronounced and he spoke quite quickly with a mettalic edge. He seemed interested in Galdak.
Galdak: " I am sorry Captain that i was aprehensive about your Klingon collegue going off on his own, but i have delt with Klingons and know only to well their excitable edge, and some of my planets people may find him hard to deal with"
Weill: " Thankyou First Minister, i am sure he can cope, he isnt an ordinary Klingon, hence him working for the Federation"
Galdak: " Yes i understand, may i ask you to join me to my chamber, so we can discuss your visit"
Weill: " Of course"
They walked through some very long corridors which had overly high ceilings, they were very grand and reminded Weill of the Roman design and habit of making everything as to make everyone feel small, something displayed here with great effect, maybe even better than the Romans.
They walked into his chamber which was ajacent to the Council chamber, there was a huge tapestry of the planet on the wall, they sat down and started talking.
Weill: " I was sent here to meet with you as we knew of your existance but to find out weather our two peoples though still related by blood could still work together and trade and even have diplomatic connections."
Galdak: " We knew little of humans devlopments and knew nothing first hand and we are pleased that you have come to us, we would like to declare out peaceful intentions to you and perhaps sign such a treaty?"
Weill: " I have such authority to do so, and may i ask you do thw same for us"
Galdak: " Yes, we shall have the ceremony in the main council chamber tommorow? for you signing out treaty and may i suggest the council meets on yoiur ship so we can sign yours there as a symbol of out mutual respect"
Weill: " A fine idea First Minister, i shall send further details to you and i think we can have everything arranged for tommorow"
After another 3 hours talking Weill was th last from the team to beam aboard the Raven, he had decided to have the signing in the cargo bay, which was almost empty so he ordered the rest of the contents removed, it was large enough to hold the delegation.
He had ordered that all senior staff would attend in dress uniform and the staff that would join him to the planet as well were, Commander Majeski, Commander Dixon and Commander Dantrek with the new Lt Zoarial.
Roz Drouet would be the only civilian but would in turn go to the signing on the ship.
Weill was ordered by Command to make this run smoothly as their was a hope they would join the federation.

Alex was continuing on his way to find the source of the out of place Starfleet commbadge signal when it just as mysteriously winked out of range. Probably transported out, Alex thought to himself. However, he was now close enough to get more detail from his tricorder about the former source. It had been in the basement of a rather large yet abandoned building about 150 meters in front of him. He did a more detailed scan and found that there were 5 humanoids in the basement, 4 males, 1 female. The female was alone in a single room with the 4 males grouped together in another.
Alex crept another 50 meters closer to the site, taking care to stay away from anyone else around. Stopping, he decided to call the Raven.
"Dixon to Raven" he whispered.
"Go ahead, Commander" the first officer replied.
"Sir, I had an odd Starfleet comm badge signal on the surface that has disappeared. Is there anything going on up there?" Alex asked.
"NOt really, Commander, except that Roz Drouet attacked Dr. Amhil and is at large again" Majeski sighed. "Investigate the signal as quietly as possible and then find the Captain to tell him what's going on. I don't want to interrupt him in the middle of negotiations with a ship security matter."
"Acknowledged" Alex replied and closed the channel.
Alex scanned the building he wanted to get into carefully and found the entrances to the basement he wanted to get into. Sneaking to the closest one, he tried the door. It was locked. He pulled out his phaser, set it very low, burned out the mechanism and swung the door open. The interior had a very rank aroma, like rotting meat.
Alex continued on, following his tricorder till he was at the final door. He could hear the quiet conversation of several people on the othe side. Unfortunately, this was the only way to the source of the signal. Resetting his phaser to wide dispersion stun, Alex flung open the door and fired, simultaneously stunning everyone in the room.
Moving quickly, Alex moved to the next door, burned the locking mechnanism out and kicked it open. Inside was a familiar figure with red hair. Roz Drouet.
Alex rushed to her side and scanned her. She was alive, but in serious condition. Alex tapped his comm badge. "Dixon to Transporter Room 1, lock on to my signal. Two to beam to Sickbay. And have a Security team on standby."
Alex picked up the unconscious form of the civilian and the stinking room disappeared.

Amhil was just tending to her cut cheek, which burned annoyingly, when 2 people were beamed directly to sickbay. She turned and her eyes widened when she saw that it were Alex and Roz, though Alex seemed perfectly all right.
"What on Earth?" Amhil said, but Alex had already turned around and nodded towards Roz.
"We're not on Earth, doctor." He said and Amhil quickly got over to Roz. It felt strange having her laying on the biobed for the second time this day. Even more strange because not even an hour ago she had attacked Amhil and run off.
"What happened?" Amhil asked. As Alex filled her in on what little he knew, Amhil started scanning Roz. Though her condition was serious, it was not new. It was the same as earlier and only because she had left sickbay it had become worse.
"You found her on the planet.. locked up?" Amhil asked while working fast on getting Roz stable again, which shouldn't be a big problem. Before Alex could answer, she continued; "That's odd, you know." She sounded a bit frustrated.
"Indeed it is. She seems to have been very busy since she left..." Alex was cut off when Majeski's voice came over the comm.
=/\="Doctor, security has found Roz Drouet, but she is acting very weird. We're bringing her to sickbay."=/\=
Amhil and Alex looked at each other.
=/\="Sir, that's impossible."=/\= Amhil answered.
=/\="Why would that be impossible, doctor?"=/\= Majeski sounded a bit irritated, Amhil didn't blame him.
=/\="Well for one thing, she's already here..."=/\=

OFF: Can we get this mass of security instances out of the way, i fear soon i will o on the rampage as well if i follow the trend, i am going to continue the the signing of the treaty.
ON:
Weill was just pulling the tunic of his white dress uniform down, as it seemed to have the habit of feeling like it had been severely starched, he has shined his boots, as he felt the replicator could never get it right, he had ordered the relevent staff to be in the transporter room and he arrived and the other staff were standing around the padd.
Weill: " Ok lets go and i hope this is such a good day for the Federation"
Before long they had transported to the great council hall, there were high ranking personages of all types moving around, Galdak was wearing an imposing Scarlet coat which flowed down to his ankles, it showed his seniority though colour, he walked over and welcomed Weill and the team.
Galdak: " Captain Gus Weill and guests, i am pleased to welcome you to our planet and i also hope that this is the start of something far bigger, i cannot say how much this means to me and to my people to at last be reunited with the brothers ad sisters of our human ancestry, which not only has devloped well and peacefully, but has developed into a powerful race who are friends with many races, which is clearly demostrated by your team"
Weill: " I thankyou First Minister, i indeed believe this an important momentas though the trials of this mission we have now opened into a peaceful and rewarding chapter"
Galdak: " Shall we begin"
Weill: " Yes i think we should"
The teams walked towards the table, there were great conversations tha the great silence of the actual signing, by Gus Weill and Galdak as representitives of their two peoples. Afterwards there was a buffet of delcasies and this lead to conversation between the two groups.

After the signing, Dan was quickly caught up in conversation with Vallok, and the Minister of Technology, Soldar.
Vallok: I am curious, Commander. Is there an overall mixing of peoples within the Federation?
Dan: Generally, although some more than others.
Vallok: Would the Djzxx be among them?
Dan: Unfortunately no. Although we are members of the Federation, with few exceptions my people keep completely to themselves.
Soldar: A pity. The Federation would benefit if all of your race had the same abilities you do. Such a powerful vatai you have in you.
Dan: My apologies, but I am not familiar with that term.
Vallok: The vatai is a mental gift. It is an ability for great intuition and reasoning. Some have it, some don't. You showed it quite well while examining our High Atmospheric Craft earlier.
Dan: I see. Well unfortunately, again I differ from the vast majority of my people. We are in general an aggressive militaristic people. My abilities took some time to develop.
Vallok: You are older than you appear then?
Dan: What brought you to that conclusion?
Vallok: You speak with wisdom and choiceness of words. Such only comes with age among our people.
Dan: You are correct, I am older than I appear. I am, in fact, 145 years old.
Soldar: Interesting.
Conn Officer: =/\= Raven to Commander Trek =/\=
Dan: One moment, gentleman. =/\= This is Commander Trek, go ahead =/\=
Conn: =/\= Commander, you have a transmission from Admiral Wellen =/\=
Dan: =/\= Admiral Wellen? My, my. Open the channel. Tell him I am in a Diplomatic conference and ask if he could wait about an hour or so =/\=
Conn: =/\= Aye, sir. One moment =/\=
Soldar: Do you know this Admiral Wellen?
Dan: I do. I'll explain in a moment.
Conn: =/\= The Admiral agreed, Commander. Although he said you have just one hour, no more. And he also said to say he was surprised to find you in a Diplomatic function =/\=
Dan: =/\= Indeed he would be. Trek out =/\=
Vallok: What was that about?
Dan: Admiral Wellen is the Commanding Officer of the Starfleet Corps of Engineers. I am curious as to what he has to say. It must be important is he's willing to wait.

Roz wanted to explain what had happened to her but she was afraid to open her mouth in fear of vomiting. Amhil quickly fixed her up and Roz was sitting up as the clone was brought into sickbay. She spotted Roz and tried to break out of security's grasp. Roz slowly got to her feet and faced the clone. Majeski came in and looked from one Roz to the other. Everyone else was doing the same. Majeski: Who's who? Roz: I was transported down onto the planet by someone and this.... thing made itself a copy of me. I was then thrown into a cell while I still was unwell from the bloodloss I had sustained earlier. RC: She lies! I am the real Roz Drouet. Roz's eyes blazed green and slightly yellow. The clone did the same. Majeski: The two of you can argue back and forth to us all about who's lying and who's telling the truth until you both are blue in the face. It's better off if I don't believe either of you. Roz stared at Majeski. What was he doing? She thought quick and came up with an idea. She looked around the room. Roz: I know how you'll be able to tell the difference between the clone and the true Roz. Where's Art? Majeski folded his arms across his chest. Majeski: He's currently in the brig. Roz: What's he doing in there? Majeski: Waiting until I can think of a proper punishment for his hacking the ship's computer multiple times. Roz: Chris, trust me in just this way. Let Art out. He'll be able to tell which of us is the real Roz and which one is the copy. Her eyes were pleading with Majeski and he sighed. Majeski: Very well. He hit his combadge. Majeski: =Majeski to the brig= "Yes?" Majeski: Bring Mr. Cline to sickbay. "Right away sir. Brig out." Majeski: Now we wait. tag:<Art> OFF: I'll backpost about the signing ceremony after this is sorted out, which I hope will be soon otherwise I trust that I behaved myself there.

Commander Majeski glanced around Sickbay. There seemed to be a lot of unnecessary personel milling around, staring at the two Roz Drouet's. "Don't a lot of you have something to do that doesn't involve being here?" A number of crew members jumped slightly and found their way to the door.
Majeski noted that Dixon was still standing and waiting for Art Cline to show. "Commander Dixon, I think that everything is under control here. The captain asked that the senior officers be present for the signing ceremony. Get down there!" Alex nodded reluctantly and left Sickbay.
The Science Officer went to his quarters, donned his Class A uniform and arranged a site-to-site transport to the planet surface.

Vallok: I also notice that your physiology is quite interesting, Commander. Your skin appears rough.
Dan: It is. It was a product of evolution. On my world, the plants are very spiny or thorny. Conversely, most animals have developed tough skin.
Vallok: The two conditions seem to have propogated each other.
Dan: Indeed. I had not considered that, but I would assume they would.
Soldar: Are there any mental uniqunesses about you as well as physical?
Dan: Indeed. We have the ability to direct mental energy. Directed inward or into others, it is used in healing. Directed at something however, it can push it to some extent.
Vallok: Which could be used as a weapon.
Dan: It has been. It is used in Security as well. Those that show exceptional ability in that area are often recruited as Security Officers.
Soldar: But used as a weapon, that could be dangerous.
Dan: Indeed. I can be very dangerous in that respect.
Dixon: Like you were on our last mission.
Dan turned, and Alex was standing there in his dress uniform.
Dan: Did you finally decide to join us, Commander?
Dixon: Actually, I was ordered by Commander Majeski after the Raven quited down.
Vallok: Who is your colleague, Commander?
Dan: Oh, my apologies. Alex, this is Vallok, the Minister of Science, and Soldar the Minister of Technology. Ministers, this is Commander Alex Dixon, our Chief Science Officer.
Vallok: Pleasure to meet you, Commander.

Zoarial thought that it was very impressive, seeing all those officers in their best uniforms, but what was even more impressive were the clothings that the inhabitants of the planet bore. He thought the clothings were stylish as well as gracefull, casual, elaborate and formal. Ranks were not easily reckognisable but when he closely looked he noticed that the number of layers of clothing somehow representated some kind of rank or maybe status. Zoarial also noticed the short time in which the treaty was signed, but then again, all the talking had been done before, this was just a formality. Only 15 minutes later Zoarial was able to attain the festivities, there were all kind of people walking around, but none really attracted Zoarial's attention. He took something that looked like a local refreshment. Zoarial took a small sip and really liked the drink. He turned to the nearest person and asked him: Zoarial: What is this remarkable liquid I'm drinking?Man: Sir it's water. When Zoarial took another gulp it did actually taste very waterlike, so a little emberassed he walked over to the other side of the room. On his way there a lot of people hugged him, something that he thought being custom here to express one's happiness. After a short walk he reckognized some of his crew in the crowd, Commander Dan Trek and Commander Dixon. He was about to join the conversation when he heard Dan introducing Dixon to the other two people. Dan: Dan: Alex, this is Vallok, the Minister of Science, and Soldar the Minister of Technology. Ministers, this is Commander Alex Dixon, our Chief Science Officer. Zoarial thought that this wasn't really his subject, so he decided to walk some more instead of comprehensively nodding or just looking like an idiot because he didn't know much about the subject. He was about to continue his stroll when he bumped into Boldos, the guy who had accompanied him in his citytour. Boldos: Hey big guy, I'm sorry about what happened the other day, we're not always very kind to strangers, but now that your captain and Galdak have signed the treaty I could try to be a bit nicer to you. Zoarial grunted, he still hadn't forget the barincident and he wasn't about to forgive Boldos either. Boldos noticed this attitude and continued. Boldos: Are you still upset with what happened at the Trajx Lieom? I can tell you that you don't have to be. Other foreigners have as well tried this thing you drank, and they passed out and didn't come back to reality after some hours. You, on the other hand, were just knocked from your chair, something that sometimes happens to even the best drinkers here. So I guessed you passed the test. Zoarial: Test? What test?Boldos: Well we wanted to know what these foreigners were made out of, and I must say, whatever it is, it's very good material! Zoarial still wasn't satisfied but he decided to forget the incident and enjoy the party a little bit. Zoarial: So I guess it's my turn then? I hope that you have the ingredients, I'll be back in a minute.Zoarial knew something that would knock this guy clear of his feet, he smiled and went to the drinkstable. He found some kind of replicator there and to his amazement it was able to create every necesary ingredient. He took two glases and quickly mixed one of his favorite drinks. When he returned to Boldos, who was still waiting on the same spot, not looking bored at al, Zoarial handed him a glass. Zoarial: This is what we klingons call Chech'tluth, I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do!Zoarial downed the glass of Chech'tluth, while closely watching Boldos. Boldos did the same and it seemed like he didn't notice a single bit of the drink's purposed strenght. Zoarial gazed at the man in amazement and immideately asked for an explanation. Zoarial: How are you able to withstand this drink? It is commonly known that even an experienced tera'ngan drinker can be floored with one gulp.Boldos: GM remember? We have a slightly modified liver, we have the benefits of alcohol an none of the disadvantages, it's lovely After this remarkable show of skills, Zoarial was able to accept this man, he shook his hand and they discussed drinks for some time. Zoarial: It has been a pleasure talking to you, I hope that I'll see you again when you attend the ceremony aboard the USS Raven!Boldos: Likewise, I'll be there! Zoarial decided to stay at the party a little longer. He took a nice glass of refreshing water and sat down on a bench sothat he could overlook the whole room.

Pleasure to meet you, Commander."" Vallok said with exquisite courtesy.
"It's nice to meet you as well, Minister" Alex replied. The exchanged of pleasantried reminded Alex of a conversation he had had with the Raven's Chief Navigational Officer not long ago. He hadn't heard from Lt. Zoarial in a while, but knew that the Klingon was here on the planet. Taking a quick glance around, Alex saw the broad Klingon back of the lieutenant passing by through the crowd. At least he's not getting himself into trouble, Alex thought to himself and returned to the conversation at hand.
"Minister of Science? Is it alright if I ask you a few questions, Minister?"Alex asked.
"Go ahead, Commander. However, I'm not sure if I will have any answers for you. The Federations scientific prowess is generally superior to ours" Vallok replied.
"Perhaps. I was wondering if you were aware that there was a Romulan warbird in orbit around your planet, and that it has 5 decks full of stasis chambers" Alex stated. DanTrek closed his eyes briefly. It seemed that Commander Dixon hadn't payed much attention in Diplomacy class...
"Of course I am aware. Commander Trek and I were discussing that just a few minutes ago." Alex was a little shocked about the easy way the Minister answered the question. There had been so much intrigue around this mission that he had been expecting even more to crop up at this diplomatic function. Shrugging mentally, Alex decided to go on.
"Then may I ask how you came by the vessel and what the chambers are for?"
"Of course" replied Vallok. "The ship just sort of fell into our laps. We managed to recover the logs from the computer core. The warbird had been escorting a Romulan convoy during the Dominion war through this system, when it was ambushed by a Dominion flotilla. The warbird engaged the Jem Hadar ships while the convoy escaped. The warbird was heavily damaged, but the Dominion ships didn't destroy, but went after the convoy. The warbird drifted until she was captured by our gravity well."
Alex thought that was an interesting but slightly unlikely story, but decided to take the Minister at his word. "But what about the stasis chambers?" Alex asked.
"I was getting to that" Vallok said with a bit of impatience. "Many years ago, we colonized a planet in a system about two light years from here. We don't have warp technology. The warbird could travel at warp, but just barely. It still would have taken the ship over a year to get to our colony. We decided to use the ship to transport some colonists to the new colony, and installed the stasis chambers so that they would survive. Does that answer your questions, Commander Dixon?"
"Yes, it does, Minister. Thank you." Alex took a sip of his drink.

Majeski loooked at both Roz's and grunted and he turned to thier sectuirty chief Kari Wells , "You deal with this i have a cermemony to attend to".
"Yes sir" Ensign Wells merely gave majeski a dirty look and shrugged
----------------------------------------------------------------------- Majeski arrived to where weill was on the planet with his dress uniform on and tugged at it
"Majeski" Weill whispered "Quit playing with your collar you making every one nervous like your expecting somthing wrong is going to happen."
"Can't help it it's uncomforable" Majeski grunted
"Get used to it" Weill said
"merr. what happend to the old dress uniforms?" Majeski complained again
"they changed them" Weill said "Now quit complaining"
"yes sir"

Weill had felt quite honored to sign on behalf of the United Federation of Planets, he had used a pen, he liked using Pens, his father always used one and hated padds as he felt they were to mechanical for a very organic task, he felt reading was natural and in turn should be treated as such.
He had walked around with Galdak for a while and in turn he met many more of the people in attendance. He even met a young girl who had been at the ceremony and was supposed to have given a picture to Weill, but she had been to nervous and so he went to see her later on his own.
The painting was paint on caveings on a great stone sheet, it weighed little, the lightest stone he had ever held and it was thick, he had been informed that it is light as it is very nearly a gas, but it is so dense as a gas it is a solid. Weill was confused but enjoyed the present none the less, he planned for it to go on his wall.
Soon enough the evening had come to an end, he made his way back to the ship and went to his quarters for a rest, he put the carving on the wall than realised it would look better in his readroom for him to remember this event.
He thought when he got up the next morning how complex the day would be, the setting was being set for the signing of the federation side of this most important treaty.
He left his quarters and a Lt was at the Captains chair and he leapt up when Weill came in, she was taking the station for experiance and Weill felt sorry for the worried girl.
Weill: " Please continue Lt, i am just going to my readroom"
Lt: " Yes Captain, bridge crew, please continue"
He walked in and place the tablet on the shelf going behind his desk, he had than replicated a rummer rim to sit at the bottom to stop it slipping over, than one for the top to stick it to the wall, it wouldnt fall over at all now. He was indeed worried about such things as in combat they could fly all over the place if not set properly.

Alex was just completing his report regarding the treaty signing from yesterday. He put on the finishing touches then spent some time reviewing what he had written.
Dixon, Trek, Vallok and Soldar had continued their technical conversation regarding the extra-atmospheric craft that they had used to access the warbird. Alex had been suspicious of the relative ease with which they had figured out the vessel, but their explanations seemed fairly logical, so he without further information, he decided to let it go.
He found the two ministers to be forthcoming about their planet's technology. Alex found that it was generally not as far advanced as most planets in the Federation, but that their bio-engineering and aerodynamic advancement were quite interesting. They did have some innovations that might be useful in atmospheric capable ships like shuttlecraft and the Intrepid class ships like the Raven.
After about 40 minutes, Alex could see that Dan seemed to be watching the clock on the wall, like he had someplace to go. About the same time, Alex noted that Captain Weill and Lt. Zoarial were heading their way. "Excuse me gentlemen, but it's time that I and my officers returned to our ship" he said, speaking to the two ministers. They nodded politely and stepped back several feet. The four officers from the Raven disappeared from the reception and reappeared on the transporter pad.
That had been yesterday, and after getting back to the ship, Alex decided to head to his quarters for some sleep. He had gotten 8 hours in, then gone to his office to do some work.
After finishing and signing the report, Alex forwarded it to the Captain's attention and sat back in his chair. His office on Deck 6 was very quiet. Through his windows, he could see the back of Ensign Vuaret. She was conducting some research on biological samples that had been taken on the planet. Otherwise the lab was empty.
Alex was just sitting back in his chair when the ship wide comm came to life. "This is Captain Weill to all crew members. We will be completing the treaty signing today on the Raven. The delegation from the planet will be beaming up in an hour. Senior officers meet in Transporter Room 1 in 55 minutes. Weill out."
Alex stood up and left his office for his quarters. Time to get back into his dress uniform.

"Dammit, This is not fair" He groaned
Weill looked at him with a withering look "Oh suck it up commander* and gave him a friendly poke.
"Commader Majeski can you make sure the Mess hall is set up for the treaty signing then meet us in the transporter room?" Weill asked
"Yes sir" Majeski nodded
He wadded of to the mess hall and on the way he met Dr Eddons who looked cross " YOU!!!"
*uh oh* Majeski thought
"You mr Majeski did not return like I asked you to" Amhil put her hands on her hips and Majeski swallowed *eep* he thought
"Oh don't worry just stop by later just giving you a scare" Amhil smiled and stuck out her tounge
Majeski gave a weak smile and nodded and continued to the mess hall as he entered they where just putting up ballons the tables where already set he could smell the food cooking

The hour Dan had left was quickly coming to an end, and he was looking for a way to excuse himself. Fortunately, just in time Weill came over and said they had to return to the Raven. They reappeared on the Raven.
Dan: If you'll excuse me gentleman, I have an Admiral thats been waiting for an hour to talk to me.
He quickly went to his quarters and sat down at his desk.
Dan: Computer, open a channel to Admiral Wellen, at Starfleet Headquarters.
A few moments later, Wellen appeared on the screen.
Dan: Admiral Wellen, my apologies for not taking your call immediately. I was busy at the time.
Wellen: Understandable, Commander. But why were you at a diplomatic function? You've never been the best at diplomacy.
Dan: That is very true. However, this was a First Contact situation and I am among the Senior Staff.
Wellen: That would explain the Dress Uniform. How did it go?
Dan: Quite well. We're having them sign the Federation treaty tomorrow. Now, what exactly did you want to talk to me about?
Wellen: Yes, you would be wondering that. Are you familiar with Omicron Shipyards?
Dan: Somewhat. Its a Research and Development facility being built within Section 47. Why do you ask?
Wellen: Because its construction is nearing completion. And of course its going to need an experienced Engineer to lead it.
Dan: Who did you have in....wait, do you mean me?
Wellen: Yes, I do. I'd like to appoint you Commanding Officer of Omicron Shipyards.
Dan: Wow. I don't know what to say.
Wellen: Yes would be good. You've been an Engineer with Starfleet for what? About 40 years now?
Dan: Yes, itll be 40 years next month. That doesnt count the time I spent as an Engineer for my own people either.
Wellen: See? You have ample experience. Do you accept?
Dan: Yes, sir. I do.
They spent the next hour or so discussing Omicron. Afterwards Dan went to bed.
The next morning, he dressed and went to Weill's Ready Room. This was a big promotion. He tapped the door chime.
Weill: Come in.
Dan walked in.
Weill: What can I do for you, Commander?
Dan: I spent an hour talking to Vice Admiral Wellen last night after we got back from the reception. He's the Commanding Officer of the Starfleet Corps of Engineers. Anyway, he told me theyre building a branch of it in Section 47, Omicron Shipyard Captain, I've been offered the position of Commanding Officer of Omicron.

"This is Captain Weill to all crew members. We will be completing the treaty signing today on the Raven. The delegation from the planet will be beaming up in an hour. Senior officers meet in Transporter Room 1 in 55 minutes. Weill out."
Amhil smiled, luckily she could attend this time. Yesterday she had had a bit a situation on her hands in Sickbay. She was glad it was over. Though it was a shame that she had missed the opportunity to go down to the planet, even if was just for an hour.
Deciding that 55 minutes was only a short time to get ready, Amhil left one of her medical staff in charge of sickbay and left to go to her quarters and get dressed.
On her way there she saw Commander Majeski heading her way. Just as he noticed her, Amhil remembered he hadn't returned the other day. She was in a bit a teasing-mood so she quickly changed her expression.
"You!!" She said, looking quite angry and pointing a finger at his chest. Some of the crewmembers that happened to pass by, slowed down a bit to see what would happen. Majeski looked uncomfortable.
"You, Mr Majeski, did not return like I asked you to." Amhil said and placed her hands on her hips. Majeski swallowed and Amhil couldn't help but snicker. This caused the Commander to frown at her.
"Don't worry, I was just giving you a scare. Stop by later, after the treaty signing." The doctor smiled and stuck out her tongue. It was not her intention to have the Commander avoiding her for the rest of her time onboard.
Majeski smiled weakly and nodded before leaving, some of the crewmembers grinned and went on minding their own business again. Amhil continued to her quarters to get into that dress uniform, which she had actually never worn before. Some said it was quite uncomfortable, and seeing how annoyed Majeski had looked she was sure he was one of them.

Alex walked into the Transporter Room 5 minutes early. Only Captain Weill and a Transporter Chief were already there, both in their dress uniforms. Alex hadn't had a dress uniform on since his graduation from the Academy. The Chief who was standing at the Transporter console tugged at the collar of his dress uniform uncomfortably. He didn't know what everyone was complaining about as far as the dress uniforms went. It seemed comfortable enough to him.
Captain Weill was standing in a corner of the room, waiting for the delegation from the planet. He looked a bit more thoughtful than normal, and was possibly unhappy. Alex decided to leave him to his thoughts and walked over to the transporter chief. "Are they ready yet?" he asked.
The Chief shook his head. "Not time yet, sir. I'm monitoring the transport site on the planet, but it looks like the entire delegation hasn't arrived yet. They'll signal when they're ready."
Alex nodded and walked back out in front of the Transporter console, just as Dr. Amhil walked in the door with a slightly amused expression on her face.
"How are things in Sickbay, Doctor?" he said.
She shrugged and said, "They're fine. Very quiet. My patients keep leaving before they're cured."
Alex gave her a puzzled look.

Weill stood waiting for the guests, the message came that they were ready, Weill was looking forward to this point of the visit but not to something else, the Raven was going to lose something that was fundermental and extremly important and Weill above all others was sad to hear it. He knew that the announcement had to be made while the alien guests were there as it was the one time the crew would be there and if not it would be out on the main tannoy.
They materialized, the usual formalities took place, Weill bowed and they walked to the ceremony hall, it had been some time since Weill had attended such a ceremony on a vessel.
They walked in and the room looked perfect, a long narrow table with places for the two main signatories namely Weill and The First Minister. Galdak and Weill walked side by side and behind each was their staff, Behind Weill was Commander Majeski and the other senior staff in a line and behind Galdak were his ministers, Weill couldnt help thinking this was the best way to get rid of the entire govenment of the GM planet, that is why he was pleased security had bee tightened.
Weill: " It is a day of great pomp and ceremony both here and on the plane that has been the key to the event, but we must not forget that all are just symbols of what really matters, the unification of two organisations so that they may live together in peace and co-operation and hopefully develop a key relationship of equal strength which is based on mutual trust and respect.............. as Federation Representitive I Captain Gus Weill ask First Minsiter Galdak to be the first signatory of the treaty"
Galdak: " I shall with honour"
Both signed and the ceremony passed quickly, after the ceremony everyone made their way to the mess hall, where food of all types from the Fderation had been prepared, even water for Zoarial.
Weill saw Commander Dantrek in a corner and realised now was the time to announce the important events that ran along side the treaty.
He tapped his glass, everyone went quiet.
Weill: " Thankyou............... I have an announcement or rather two, they strike at the very heart of such an occassion and i am pleased that our new friends are here to see this............ The Raven is going to lose one of its finest officers and indeed one of the finest officers i the section........... He has bee offered a Command post i charge of a newly built station.............. Commander Dantrek, could you please come forward."
Dantrek: " Ummm, uh"
Weill: " You can do that indeed Commander, but i think personally i feel great congratulations are in order...... Congratulations, very well deserved"
After some time and clapping things almost went back to the way they were before than Weill coughed to regain the attention that had been lost.
Weill: " Yes sorry, one more announcement, I will say it plainley. I will be leaving the USS Raven at the end of this mission, for an assignment on earth, all i can say it has been an honour to serve and i could never have thought that my first command would have been so wonderful and i will always have a special place in my mind for the USS Raven"

Alex completed his duties in the treaty signing session in a daze. Once it was polite to do so, he said his goodbyes and made his way to his quarters.
Once there, he shed his dress uniform, put on some comfortable clothes and went into his closet and pulled out one of the larger storage bins that he hadn't been into since his time in the Academy. In the bin were several bulky stasis chambers that hadn't been disturbed in some time. Examining the tags, he selected the one he wanted and pulled it out. This one said Caldos 4, Ale.
Alex deactivated the stasis chamber, popped it open and pulled out a container of amber liquid. There were still 3 others inside, so he reactivated the box, put it back in it's place and carried the container out to the main room after grabbing a glass from the replicator.
Alex seated himself on the couch, which overlooked the main window in his quarters. Outside, the planet dominated the view. Alex uncapped the bottle and filled his glass. Raising it in a quiet salute to his soon-to-be gone Captain and Chief Engineer, he took a long swig. The non-synthaholic beverage hit the back of his throat like a blessing. Leaning back, he stared out the window and watched the world go by.

Majeski was sipping his wine when The captian annouced his departure, it hit him like a ton of bricks. and he ended up chocking on his wine
Dr Eddons patted Majeski on the back to help him cough
Weill looked at Majeski and nodded
Majeski nodded and looked at him still coughing a little bit. from choking the shock was now sinking in. Eddons peered into his faced and his eyes where big as dinner plates.
"But ....but......" Majeski started
Weill held up his hand "Don't say it Majeski i know you too well"
Majeski stood in utter shock and said nothing but sat down and stared ahead lost in thought

When the captain announced that he (and Dan for that matter) would be leaving the ship, of course it came as a shock to Amhil. Majeski, who was standing next to her at that moment, choked in his wine. It had even been more of a shock to him than to Amhil, because he had served a lot longer with the captain. As Majeski coughed, Amhil quickly patted him on the back to help him.
When the coughing subsided a bit, Amhil looked into his face to see if he was all right. His eyes were wide and he stared at the Captain.
"But...but.." He began, but the captain held up his hand. "Don't say it Majeski, I know you too well"
Though Amhil had expected that Majeski would go on, he sat down instead, which surprised her. She thought it would be better to leave him alone with his thoughts for a little while. Instead she looked over to Dan, who seemed to have been watching the captain all this time. Had he known that the captain would leave, too? Or had it been just as a surprise to him as to the rest of the people who were here. She couldn't tell from his face, but didn't want to go over and ask either.
She looked down at her glass and sighed. Though the room looked like there was a party, it felt as if someone had just died. All in all, it was a very strange experience. Some time later, while the hushed conversation continued, Amhil could see Alex escaping the crowd out of the corner of her eye. He moved to the doors and Amhil wondered if maybe she should do the same thing. She didn't feel like staying here much longer anyway. Taking a last sip of her glass, she excused herself and made her way to the door. She briefly wondered it Majeski would show up in sickbay after this whole thing, but if he didn't she didn't blame him.

Dan was shocked when the Captain announced he was leaving. After the announcement, Commander Majeski, Commander Dixon and Dr Amhil all seemed to be in a daze. Each left shortly after. Vallok and Soldar approached Dan soon after.
Soldar: Congratulations, Commander. After seeing your skill with the HAC, I would say you deserve it.
Weill: Indeed you do, Commander.
Dan: Thank you. I have recieved a promotion from Admiral Wellen to the rank of Commander 1st Class to go along with the appointment to CO of Omicron.
Weill: Indeed, he had mentioned that when he talked to me about it.
Dan: You knew?
Weill: Naturally. Procedure is to tell the CO first.
Dan: Ah yes, I see.
Vallok: This ship will lose an experience engineer when you go.
Dan: I've made arrangements for my replacement. I had a young protege back when I was serving on the El-Salvador. He has since been assigned as Chief Engineer of the Victory, but I've convinced him to come here and take over for me; Lt JG Nephi Jacobson. He is young but capable. He showed great promise.
