"Doctor whats wrong with me?" Zoarial said in an almost frightened tone of voice.
"Well its been a long time since anyones called me that" Black responded to the clearly agitated Lt.
it was then that Zoarila realised it wasnt the CMO who was standing over him but Mathew Black the newly transfered civilian. He remebered trying to find out information about Black but everything seemed classified and what little their was, didnt really tell you much.
"As too whats wrong with you, with out talking to you more, and a longer read at your history I can only say that some form of trauma has happened in your life and recent events have in someway triggered those memories.... well thats the Psychiatrist in me and MD but the human.. youve been through alot. Let me consult with the CMO and I'll talk you later.. for now you rest. Docs orders...." with the Mathew smiled and walked towards some other patients to check on them. He was once again feeling the buzz of being a medic.

Lt. Collaan squinted in puzzlement at her instruments, then looked over at Alex, who was still calibrating field emitters. "Cmdr. Dixon, I think that you should take a look at this."
"What's that lieutenant?" Alex replied with some relief. Calibrating multi-phasic field emitters was notoriously picky work.
"Lateral sensors are picking up a wave front of calendenium particles" she reported.
"What do you mean, a wave front? Calendenium doesn't occur in large quantities naturally. How can you have a wave of them?" Alex asked the Science officer.
"I don't know sir," she replied "but the wave is heading right at us."
Lt. Jacobsen joined the conversation. "Sir, calendenium tends to explode on contact with hydrogen. The Briar Patch is full of that. We need to get out of here!"
"Right." Alex turned to the navigator's station. "Mr. Vegas, get us out here. Program a course perpendicular to the wave front and engage at the best speed the Raven can make. Collaan, get the wave onscreen."
The crew in Engineering turned to their screens. The calendenium wave wasn't visible of itself, but it's progress could be seen by it's effect on other gases in the Briar Patch. It looked like a plate of oil after detergent had been dropped in. But Vegas successfully got the Raven moving, and the wave missed the ship, causing a collective sigh of relief.
Collaan glanced down at the main sensor console in response to an urgent beeping. "Sir, sensors have picked up concentrations of refined metals behind the calendenium wave. It's another ship!"
Alex was turning back to Collaan when the calendenium wave encountered an area of hydrogen particles. Every screen in Engineering turned white with the explosion. A few seconds later, the blast wave hit the ship and tossed it like a wood chip in the ocean.
Alex was thrown against the port bulkhead and onto the floor. When he opened his eyes, Engineering was in complete darkness.

After visiting Sickbay and being 'jabbed' Nathan proceeded to Engineering. He had about an hour until his meeting with Lt. Masteras so he decided he would catch up on the duty roster.
Nathan arrived in Engineering to a lot of raised voices and confusion.
Nathan heard.
It didnt sound good.
Nathan thought they were safe when Vegas succesfully guided the Rsven away. He moved over to the temporary Tactical console and began running scans of the weapons systems.
Nathan grabbed onto the console for all the good that it did. The explosion hit and Nathan was sent flying like evryone else. He hit the floor and saw the lights flicker and go out.
"Great..." He muttered.

(OOC: Sorry for the length, felt like being descriptive.)
A large wave of calendium was approaching. A series of progressively closer mini-explosions approached the ship as the calendium detonated some minor pockets of hydrogen.
Nephi: Boost the power to the structural integrity field! Maximum power to starboard shields!
There was a sudden burst of light that illuminated Engineering greater than noon-day during the Arctic summer. Then the wave hit, and whatever semblance of tranquility might have existed in some remote corner of the ship was shattered, and everyone onboard was thrown towards the starboard side. The illumination ceased, and Engineering was plunged into complete darkness
Nephi pushed himself up off the floor with his slightly bruised arms. He felt around in the blackness for console he knew was near the wall he was thrown against. His hand encountered its angular, slanted form, and he grasped its edge. He reached his other hand over, and braced himself on the adjacent wall as he stood. His right leg twinged slightly in pain, but he'd be alright.
He felt along the wall for the outline of the storage locker that he knew was along this wall. Finding the straight, rounded edge of the door, he felt its surface and found the handle, and yanked it open. The corner of the door caught his face, cutting his cheek slightly. He brushed off the pain, reached inside the compartment, and grasped a flashlight. He strapped it to his arm and activated it.
He shined the light around, looking at people. Joktel was leaning on a console, and covered his face with his hand as Nephi accidentally shined it in his eyes.
Joktel: Point that thing somewhere else, would ya?
Nephi lowered the light, reached into the locker for another light. He pulled it out and tossed it to him.
Nephi: Sorry about that. You alright?
Joktel: I'll be fine. My abdomen is kind of sore from the being pressed against the edge of a console, but I'm alright.
Nephi: Well, at least you managed to stay on your feet, unlike most.
Nephi shined the light around. People were at various stages of lifting themselves up off the floor. Just about everyone looked somewhat hurt, but no one looked seriously injured. All the consoles looked dead. Nephi tried the console next to him, but got nothing.
Dixon: Report.
Dixon was picking himself up from off the floor, from the middle of Engineering. He looked like had been thrown quite a few feet, but didnt look too injured.
Nephi: Well, from what I can see, power is completely offline, both main and auxiliary. ::He pulled out a tricorder and began scanning:: The warp core is stopped cold, and there appears to be significant damaged all over the ship.
He grabbed yet another light, walked over to Dixon, and handed it to him.

Alex took the light from Nephi and nodded his thanks. He shone the light around Engineering. Most people seemed to be uninjured and on their feet.
Alex walked over to where Collaan was sitting. She had a nasty looking cut on her forhead, but seemed to be alright otherwise. "You said there was another ship?" he asked.
"Yes sir. I know there was one, but sensors are offline. I don't know where it is now" she reported. Alex nodded and walked over to the main Engineering console.
"Report" he said to Nephi.
"Well, from what I can see, power is completely offline, both main and auxiliary." He pulled out a tricorder and began scanning. "The warp core is stopped cold, and there appears to be significant damage all over the ship." Nephi said.
Alex nodded. "We need to get main power back online. There's another ship out there and I imagine it's the one we've been chasing all this time. We're completely defenceless."
Nephi nodded and turned to Joktel, but was interupted by an odd banging sound that reverberated throughout the Raven. Everyone in Engineering looked around, but the source of the noise seemed far away. The sound was repeated, then stopped.
"What was that?" Joktel asked.
"It sounded like something was scraping up against the hull" Jacobsen replied.
Suddenly very suspicious, Alex grabbed up a tricorder that was lying on the floor and scanned to the limit of it's range. Near the airlock on Deck 13, it picked up a number of beings making their way along the corridor. Cursing, Alex strode over to the nearest weapons locker and grabbed a rifle and turned to the crew. "We've been boarded by a group of Jem Hadar. I need some volunteers to face them" he said grimly.

Black had told Amhil about the question Zoarial had asked, and Amhil thought it better to talk with him now. She had not expected him to wake again so fast. The last time he had woken, she had tried talking to him but he had tumbled back into oblivion before she could get a decent word out of him.
Mathew had told Zoarial to rest, but Amhil wanted to talk with him before he would fall back asleep. She left the patient she had been busy with in Mathew's care, and went over to the other biobed. Zoarial looked up when she approached. He looked a bit confused and disoriented.
"Well, how are you feeling?" Amhil asked, careful not to ask the 'How are we feeling today' line, which had always greatly annoyed her when she had been little. The term 'doctor' had always been accompanied with (wo)men in white coats and irritating big smiles on their faces. You were clearly in pain at that moment and all they did was smiling at you and asking how we were feeling. She had once answered the question with "I don't know about you, but I'm feeling rather sick." In a really sarcastic tone which had shocked the 'poor doctor, who is only trying to help you' her mother had said. One of the reasons she had become a CMO. To let the world know that patients could be treated differently.
When he opened his mouth to give an answer, she saw he clearly was in pain. Stubborn Klingons. Not taking medication because he thinks he can handle it. She thought. Had he not been in this situation, she would have been mad at him for not sending back Meidre to get some more hypos. And probably at Meirdre herself, too. But Amhil knew she had never been the one to disobey a direct order. She still had to learn quite a few things.
"Doctor? What happened?" He asked, and Amhil saw that he seemed to be not entirely awake yet. Or maybe it was just the lasting effect of a nightmare. As she noted this, Zoarial sat up and blinked his eyes a few times.
"Well, you didn't take your medication. Which, I might add, it a very stupid thing to do." She said, and grinned a little. "But you're okay now. As we speak the antidote is working. I think you might be feeling a lot better in the next 15 minutes or so. But I would advise you stay in bed until you have been fully recovered."
Zoarial seemed to ignore the last sentence, however and looked around. "I need to get back to engineering." He said, and was all but ready to go out of bed and leave sickbay.
"Oh no you don't. You're staying right where you are." Amhil said, and pushed him back on the biobed. Mentally she sighed. Why is it that nobody wants to stay in sickbay any longer than is absolutely necessary? She thought, and decided that maybe she needed to redecorate or something to make the place a bit more pleasant. And hide the equipment. Yeah, that should do it. Nobody likes needles. She added in her thoughts.
Zoarial lay back down carefully, wide awake now. Maybe the medication had a bit of a quicker effect on klingons. He looked around again, deep in thought and ignoring Amhil completely. An attention span of a caffeinated hummingbird. She grinned and got up, thought it better to leave Zoarial alone with his thoughts for a little while. It didn't seem he would go back to sleep any time soon.
She had been checking upon the other patient a few minutes later, when suddenly the whole of the ship shook violently. Amhil was thrown against the floor, and she heard a few other people yelp in surprise as they were thrown over, too. Medical equipment showered over her, and Amhil's head slammed painfully against the deck. The whole world went black for a moment. She opened her eyes and she first thought she had gone blind. Everything was dark. Then she realized the lights had gone out as she heard a few other officers trying to get up in the darkness. She sat up slowly, feeling quite dizzy even though she couldn't see her surroundings.
The next moment light shone in the far corner of sickbay. She looked up and found that both Zoarial and one of her own personnel had not lost any time and had immediately gotten a few flashlights. She got up, a little too fast. A wave of nausea hit her and she swayed on her feet. Amhil quickly grabbed the corner of the biobed and waited for the world to slow down. She vaguely heard someone talking to her, and tried to focus her attention on that person.
"-will go down to engineering to see what's going on, okay?" Brooks was talking to her, and looked at her questioningly, waiting for an answer. Not quite sure what he had actually said, she guessed they were going to send someone to engineering. She nodded, not trusting herself to open her mouth of fear of throwing up.
She didn't know, however, that she had just agreed to send Zoarial off to engineering.

Nathan looked up from the tactical console that he was leaning on.
"I will lead a security team to that location." He said.
<TAG Dixon>
"Understood Sir, but I do not think it is wise for you to accompany us." Nathan said.
<TAG Dixon>
"Very well Sir. Masteras, Jacobs, Hundiu. You are with me. Do you recommend anyone else Sir?" Nathan asked Alex.
<TAG Dixon>
"O.k then." Nathan said, activating a Phaser rifle. "Lets get moving!"

OOC: sorry, the post feels a little messy to me but I felt I could better post rubbish than nothing at all Zoarial was reliefed that the anti-radiation drug had gotten into effect so soon, and he was allready up and running in a second, disobeying any advice from Amhil to stay in sickbay. Zoarial smiled to see that this woman loved her job so much and cared for her patients as much as she could, but he felt that she was a little to concerned, because the tough klingon felt ready for... But Zoarial wasn't able to finish this thought as suddenly a massive force shook the ship up and down, thus throwing him off his feet. When he was about to get up and check up on everyone, the lights went out. Zoarial: Computer, turn on illuminationNo response. Mumbling in himself, Zoarial went looking for a flashlight, which he remembered to be in a drawer close to his biobed. The search for the light was interrupted by a single moan; Zoarial had stepped on a fellow crewmember. Excusing himself he finally found the drawer and together with it, a couple of flashlights. As he turned one of them on and let the bundle of light glide through sickbay, he saw that everything was pretty shook up. One nurse was nursing a soar wrist (the one where Zoarial had stepped on) but the rest of the people present were looking unharmed. After another apology, Zoarial tossed the flashlight to the nurse, which caught it neatly. Zoarial: I'm having trouble finding Dr Eddons, could you please notify her that I'm reporting to engineering to see what damage there is?The nurse nodded, and after a quick search she found Amhil. Zoarial saw a quick word, and a nodding Amhil, so he exited towards engineering, following the path of his flashlight. While he walked through the ship, he could conclude that the main power was offline, which meant a quick trip through the jeffries tube. The absentminded klingon had allready forgotten the radiationhazard, so he didn't think about any danger while crawling through the tubesystem. The system was designed around engineering, so it wasn't hard to get to his destination. When he arrived he saw that Alex was already taking measures together with Nephi. Zoarial was about to say hello when Alex told everyone to stay still and listen. A distant sound was clearly noticible, but Zoarial couldn't realy make up what it was. Alex seemed to have a hunch though, as he picked up his tricoder and scanned the ship. Alex: We've been boarded by a group of Jem Hadar. I need some volunteers to face them. But before Zoarial was able to volunteer, he heard the answer from an ensign who was also present in engineering, to his amazement it was Nathan, who had left not so long ago. Nathan: I will lead a security team to that location. Zoarials head was already full of ideas how to beat these Jem Hadars, whoever they might be, but he suddenly saw that Nathan and Alex were finished talking, and Nathan was about to leave. Nathan: Very well Sir. Masteras, Jacobs, Hundiu. You are with me. Do you recommend anyone else Sir? Zoarial: Forgive me for my interruption, but I would like to accompany mr Harper with his away team, do I have your permission sir?<<alex>>

"I will lead a security team to that location" Nathan said.
"Thank you, Mr. Harper" Dixon replied. There were number of other volunteers in Engineering, and Alex spent some time getting them ready. He turned and could see Lt. Jacobsen and Ens. Harper standing together, looking at him uncomfortably. Dixon walked over. "Mr. Harper, you will accompany me to Jeffries tube J7A. We'll split up there with you taking a team along sub tube 74. We'll try to surround the Jem Hadar on Deck 13 at section 12."
Understood sir, but I do not think it is wise for you to accompany us" Nathan said uncomfortably.
Alex opened his mouth and prepared to order Nathan to obey when he rethought quickly. Alex was now the senior officer, and leading away teams against hostile forces was no longer an option that he had available to him.
"You're right Mr. Harper" Alex said with a sigh. Take the teams and try to contain the Jem Hadar on Deck 13. And send a team around the ship to tell the crew what's going on. Without intership communications, there is no way that anyone will know what's going on. If you find anyone else capable, send a security team to Sickbay. They are pretty vulnerable right now"
"Very well Sir. Masteras, Jacobs, Hundiu. You are with me. Do you recommend anyone else Sir?" Nathan asked Alex.
At that moment, the large form of Cmdr Zoarial entered Engineering. Walking up to Alex he said "Forgive me for my interruption, but I would like to accompany mr Harper with his away team, do I have your permission sir?"
"Thank you Commander. Please take command of one of the security teams and go with Ens. Harper. He will brief you on the plan on your way" Alex said
<Nathan>
Alex watched regretfully as the heavily armed security teams left Engineering and turned to the Chief Engineer. "Well Nephi, I guess that we should get main power back online. Where do you suggest that we begin."
<Nephi>

Nathan nodded and walked over to Lt. Cmdr Zoarial.
"Commander." Nathan, nodding his head slightly. "I am returning as the CTSO of the Raven." He explained.
<TAG Zoarial>
Nathan briefed Zoarial on the plan and equipped him with a phaser rifle.
"Is there anyone in particular that you wish to have with you on your team?" Nathan asked.
<TAG Zoarial>
"Very well then. We will head out from Jeffries tube J7A and work it from there." Nathan said whilst putting two hand held phasers in holsters at his side. Slinging one phaser rifle over his back and carrying one in his arms he noticed Zoarial's expression.
"It never hurts to have too many weapons." Nathan said.
<TAG Zoarial>
Nathan smiled. "Alright team. Lets move out!"

Zoarial was reliefed that Alex agreed in him joining the security team, though he felt a little uneased, because he saw horrified expressions on some faces of the crew when Alex mentioned the name Jem Hadar. To be on the safe side, Zoarial requested some information on his padd, momentarily forgetting that the computer was offline. David had seen the request though, and quickly informed Zoarial about the Jem Hadar.
After hearing about the Jem Hadar being fighting machines, the klingon fighting mentality immideately rose inside Zoarial and he was not anxious but eager to face this race. As he started to grow impatient to leave engineering, he was approached by Nathan.
Nathan: Commander, I am returning as the CTSO of the Raven.
Zoarial smiled: I have allready served with you in the short period of time you were on the raven mr Harper and I am pleased to see that you have returned. Please call me Lieutenant mr Harper, Commander feels so... old. I have heard that the Jem Haddar are not people I would occasionally like to meet, how are we going to encounter them and which weapons am I to use? I come directly from sickbay so I am unarmed.
Zoarial was quickly briefed by Nathan and immideately liked the approach. He felt mighty when the CTSO pressed a phaser rifle in his hands.
Nathan: Is there anyone in particular that you wish to have with you on your team?
Zoarial: Well, I would be pleased to be joined by mr Vegas, but he might be needed here on engineering when the navigational systems are online. I will do with men of your choice, as I feel that you have a better judgement in this case.
Nathan: Very well then. We will head out from Jeffries tube J7A and work it from there.
Zoarial waited for Nathan to head to the tubesystem entrance, and saw Nathan gearing up, making Zoarial have a mixed feeling. Though he was sure Nathan was heavily armed out of precaution. As if Nathan was reading his mind, he said:
Nathan: It never hurts to have too many weapons
Zoarial: I can't blame you, but I do hope that this will not be necesary.
Nathan: Alright team. Lets move out!
While they walked towards the tube-entrance, Zoarial felt the necesity of sharing some thoughts about how to handle with these Jem’Hadar.
Zoarial: Mr Harper, I’ve done a bit of research, and I have found two ways to disable these Jem’Hadar. We could cut of their supply of the isogenic enzyme ketricel white, which they need to survive, but after doing this the Jem’Hadar will still have some hours to live, and in the mean time they have nothing to lose thus turning them into a suicide frenzy. We can’t risk that while they are close to the Warp Engine Core. The second option is to find the Vorta that is controlling them, I have found out that one of them has to be nearby to control these monsters. Maybe we can get some information out of them, for example, what they are doing in this part of the briar patch.
<<nathan>>
Zoarial: Your right, we’ll have to find them first before we can undertake any actions, you go ahead in the tube, I’ll follow.
Zoarial was the last one of the team to crawl into the tubesystem. After what seemed like horrifying hours, but without any bumps or bruises he opened the hatch to deck 13, and quickly exited the tubes. The rest of the team had allready positioned themselves and were scanning the area. <<let’s do it>> Zoarial thought.

Nephi: Well, first of all, need to make a quick adjustment to my uniform.
He walked over to the Chief Engineer's Duty Station that was the makeshift Bridge. As he walked, he felt pressure in his cheek, and small beads of blood began to seep through the cut on his cheek. He felt them come out and trickle somewhat down his cheek, maybe a centimeter or so down.
He walked past the "Bridge" crew and into the corner, sweeping the light back and forth as he went, making sure he didn't hit anybody. The "Bridge" crew were mostly standing around, looking like they were unsure what to do. He proceeded past them, and opened a locker in the corner. Inside were alternate uniforms. One was a solid-yellow engineer's jumpsuit, reserved for dirty work. He had yet to wear it. Next to it was his Engineer's vest. This was much more familiar than the jumpsuit.
He took off the uniform jacket and vest. The vest he had to half-peel off because it was partially sticking to the sweat-logged shirt underneath. He placed them both in the locker, and removed the Engineer's Vest. It hung heavily in his hand, weighted down by every tool he would need. He put it on, ironically almost comforted by its weighty feel. Now better suited for repair-work, he walked back over, and over to the Duty Engineer's Station, speaking as he went.
Nephi: Alright, much better. Now the first thing we need to do, is get some power to the more critical consoles. We'll need them to fully determine the extent of the problem.
He reached another compartment and pulled it open. Inside were multiple handheld power supplies. He pulled out two and proceeded back towards the "Bridge."
Nephi: First we'll get these Stations back up and running so that the "Bridge" crew can have something to do besides stand around and look bored.
Some of the Bridge crew laughed at comment, a few smiled with the prospect of having something to do again, and one disgruntled Ensign frowned at the implication that he wasn't doing much. Nephi ignored him and continued his work. He placed a power supply at each end of the "Bridge." Tapping their controls, he activated. The "Bridge" crew half-sighed and half-smiled as their consoles were sparked back to life. They turned their attention back to their stations, attempting to ascertain whatever information about the ship's present situation. However, with power down mostly likely everywhere, they wouldn't find much. A moment later, Joktel and Paria activated the consoles in the Duty Officer's Station. Nephi nodded and walked over.
Nephi: Alright, we're back in business, kind of.
He consulted a console to check on the power output of the ship,
Nephi: Confirmed, we've got no power anywhere on the ship. The pathways for the power haven't been disrupted, just their source. We need to get all of Engineering back up and running before we can take care of the rest of the ship. Paria, you and Williams get over to Section 49 and get a back-up generator out of storage. Let's get some life flowing back into the 'Heart' of this ship.

"I like the plan. However we need to locate and if necessary neautralise before we can concern ourselves with that. The safety of the crew is top priority."
Nathan climbed into the tube system and began to crawl. They arrived at their location and Nathan signalled for them to charge all weapons.
"Time to Rock 'n' Roll." He whispered.

Zoarial ran his tricoder through the deck, it seemed that the Jem'Hadar were still in the same spot as Alex had found them. He was troubled that there was no way of communicating with Nathan and his team, who were on the other side of the deck. But as soon as he would be in position he would dispatch a member of the team as a messenger to Nathan.
The corridors looked eerie in the beam of the flaslight, surrounded by complete darkness. To make sure that they wouldn't suddenly bump into any of teh Jem'Hadar, Zoarial ran his tricoder with regular intervals. The Jem'Hadar seemed to stay in one place and the security team only had to round one corner before they would be at the doors to section 12.
But when they were abotu to do so, a teammember knocked down something on the side of the corridor, causing a loud sound. The Jem'Hadar were alarmed. Zoarial's tricoder showed a small ammount of "life" seperated from the large group, probably a scout, heading their way. He quickly signalled his team to hide, and when they slid into a sideway, Zoarial was asked why they would not simply overpower this one individual.
Zoarial whispered: We don't know how many there are on the other side of this wall, and what they are doing here. If we catch one they might miss them and send some more to us, but in the current circumstances we can't handle them, we have to wait for Nathan to arrive and for the power to be back online.
He got some approving nodds from the people surrounding him and heard a door sliding open, after which a large ammount of light lit up the corridor. <<How can they have power in that section while power is offline everywhere in the ship?>> Zoarial thought, he felt it didn't make sense. He surely hoped that the power would soon be back online, that way he could ask for an explanation to the CEO.
The Jem'Hadar looked around but obviously wasn't very smart because he didn't bother toroughly searching the environment. He saw that something had fallen over and this seemd a reasonable explanation to him. After the Jem'Hadar returned to his mates, Zoarial quickly looked which of his team he could miss for a moment. His eye quickly fell on the one who had made all the noise.
Zoarial: Ensign, what's your name?
Ensign: Ensign Haywood sir.
Zoarial: Ensign Haywood, I want you to go back to the tubesystem, take sub tube 47 and find Ensign Harper, tell him we are at our posts and that we are ready to undertake action when he is also in position.
Haywood: Yes sir.
Ensign Haywood didn't find Nathan's team immideately, but his tricoder could tell him where they approximately were. Without knocking over any further stuff he reached them and did a status report.
Haywood: Mr Harper, Commander Zoarial is in position and awaiting your green light.

Alex listened as Lt. Jacobsen gave his orders to the Engineering crew. He hadn't done a lot of warp core maintenance in his career, but it looked like that Nephi was going to try to jump start the core by feeding energy in till a sustained matter-antimatter reaction began. It was a pretty good idea but would only work as long as the core was still warm. Fortunately, the core hadn't been offline long, but the longer it was offline, the more dangerous this solution would become.
The other problem was that once the core came back online, all the systems that had been activated before the explosion would start drawing power, creating the danger of overloading the core as it was reinitializing.
One solution to that was bringing at least one of the impulse engines back online first. They were easier to restart than the warp core, and would take some of the load off when the core restarted as it would be possible to close off shunts to the Plasma Transfer system. Alex walked over to have a quick chat with the Chief Engineer.
Nephi was standing by the main Engineering console, examine core schematics and fingering his tool vest when Alex walked up and explained his plan. Nephi seemed agreeable, but had one problem. "Commander, I don't have enough people to restart the core and the impulse engines."
Alex agreed. "I know lieutenant. But as you noted earlier, there are a number of bridge personel here that have nothing to do. I feel that there is enough expertise there to restart one of the fusion generators, especially if you lend us one of you junior engineers. This may also give some help to Commander Zoarial and Ensign Harper, assuming that we can get the internal sensors and communications online."
Reluctantly, Nephi agreed and assigned an ensign to Commander Dixon. Quickly, the two made their way over to the bridge crew and explained what they were going to be doing for the next few minutes.

Nathan was tense. He had not prepared himself for a fight on his first day and although he would never admit to it he had been caught off guard.
Nathan sighed. Sometimes he wished it didnt have to come down to bloodshed.
"Aknowledged. Tell him to initaite the attack in 1 minute."
The officer nodded and Nathan turned his attention to his weapon. He couldnt help feeling something wasnt quite right here. The Jem Hadar must have their own sensors, so why havent they attacked yet?
Wait...
"Everyone get out of here now!..." Nathan yelled.
"MOVE OUT I SAID, MOVE OUT!" He had figured out why they hadnt attacked.
He tapped his commbadge.
"All officers leave this area immediately. Re-group in engineering! I repeat Re-..."
There was an explosion and Nathan was knocked off his feet. His head made contact with a bulkhead and he momentarily lost conciosness. He awoke to find fires blazing and the screech of a hull breach alarm nearby.
He rolled over and grabbed his phaser. He was immediately stepped on by a Jem Hadar.
"Starfleet." It grolwled. "Stand up."
Nathan slowly stood up and swung the phaser round hitting the Jem Hadar on the back of the neck, it fell... stunned.
He looked around and saw most of his team on the ground. He checked the pulse of Masteras and Jacobs - both dead.
He swore. Why hadn't he thought it through more? In the distance he heard more Jem Hadar voices as the computer activated an emergency forcefield over the hull breach.
He tapped his comm badge.
"Zoarial. Are you there? Commander come in." He whispered.

Petty Officer Karn examined the fusion intiator subsystem and made some changes to the configuration array while commander Dixon stood by at the impulse reaction chamber control system.
The Klingon glanced up at Dixon and nodded. Alex activated the initialization sequence for the primary fusion reactor and said "Lt. Collaan, do a controlled restart of the deuterium slush feed system."
"Aye sir" the Bajoran replied, and started entering commands into her console. "Slush feed at 5% capacity" she reported. "10%"
"Intiate fusion reaction" Dixon said to Karn, and he entered the commands. Alex watched as the power readings started to climb, then fluctated wildly. Entering diagnostic commands, he found that deuterium slush was beginning to accumulate in the fusion chamber. "Collaan! The deuterium nozzles are misaligned. Fix it!" She nodded and bent over her console again. After a few seconds, Alex's plasma readings returned to normal and started to climb.
Alex sighed to himself. "We have a controlled fusion reation. Prepare to shunt the plasma to the generators." Lt. Ruuten was controlling the accelerators.
"The accelerators are ready, sir." Alex opened the primary plasma valves and it started feeding into the accelerator. After a few seconds, the fusion generator kicked in. "I have power sir. Just 1% of capacity right now" Ruuten reported.
"Good. Collaan, put deuterium feed up to 50% capacity" Alex said.
Commands entered the computer and after a few seconds Ruuten said "Genereated power up to 45% capacity. Efficiency at 80%"
That would have to do, Alex thought to himself. "Lt. Quarel, open the EPS conduits to the internal sensors, internal security, comm systems and short range sensors, in that order. Maybe we can give Zoarial and Harper some help."
Alex walked over to the tactical station Jacobsen had put together to see if he could access the internal sensors and find out what was going on with the Jem Hadar.
Looking over, he could see that the Chief Engineer looked like he was making good progress on restarting the core.

In a corridor:
Paul Haywood had to be quick, since Nathan expected Zoarial to attack in one minute. He quickly reentered the jeffries tube, and after he had exited it, and was about to encounter Zoarial and the rest of the security when the explosion came.
Near section 13: (a minute earlier)
Zoarial: Ok team, draw your phasers, I want to be ready when Nathan wants us to attack, we will not use unnecesary violence, because we don't know....
Zoarial was interrupted by a large bang, closely followed by a shockwave. He only felt a slight tremor, but then the wave breached wall that was between them and the Jem'Hadar. Zoarial and his team were knocked off their feet, but as Zoarial looked around he saw no serious injuries, only some scratches. but as he counted the heads he saw that one person was missing.
Zoarial shouted: Where's Ensign Haywood?
A response came from down the hall and shortly after that Ensign Haywood came stumbling down the corridor, looking a little sweaty.
Now that his team was complete, Zoarial turned back to the explosion, he had totally forgot that the raven was without power so he asked for an status report from the computer.
Zoarial: Computer, statusreport deck 12 section 13.
Immideately after that he remembered that the computer was offline, but to his surprise the computer responded.
Computer: Hull breach in section 13, no further information available
Zoarial: Ok team, we've got to link up with Ensign Harper's team, we are not able to handle this situation without direct communication.
And as surprises always come in pares, Zoarial's commbagde chimed.
Nathan: =/\=Zoarial. Are you there? Commander come in=/\=
Zoarial: =/\=Zoarial here, I am relieved that we are able to communicate, please give me a status report, my team is complete and we are unharmed=/\=
<<nathan>>
Zoarial: =/\=That is sad to hear Mr Harper, do you need any backup?=/\=
<<nathan>>
Zoarial: =/\=Agreed. At the moment I see a lot of bent steel here, no getting through on this side, from either way, I will head your way and we'll see what we can do from there. Zoarial out.=/\=

Alex started entering commands into the internal security system, trying to get it restarted. Everything seemed a little scrambled at first, but running a level 4 diagnostic seemed to iron everything out. Once that was done, the hull breach alarm immediately started sounding.
He ran a scan on Deck 13, and could immediately see the Jem Hadar and the two Starfleet groups. They were heading towards one another quickly. He could also see that the Jem Hadar had somehow managed to establish power in a section and wondered what they were up to.
Dixon looked up at PO Karn. "We need power to the internal security systems. We might be able to box up the Jem Hadar where they are so the security teams can collect them. See what you can do." The Klingon bent to his task, getting some help from two of the bridge crew.
Alex looked back down at the console and wished that he could be of more help.

"I am unharmed apart from a few cuts and brusies, however I am missing one team member and Masteras and Jacobs are dead." He said, his voice heavy with regret.
"I believe I need to remain inconscipuous for now if we are to regain our advantage. If we meet halfway between our locations we can reasses and see what we can do."
Nathan sighed and began the walk to Zoarials location.

OOC: Sorry about not posting. I've been busy the past few days with school, and a couple of my other characters needed more immediate attention, so I haven't had time to post on the Raven. I'll try to get one done in the next day or two.

Zoarial kept glancing over his shoulder, although he had made sure that the Jem'Hadar weren't an immideate threat from that side. After a quick sprint towards the other security team they heard a stumble around the corner. He signalled the team to be on their guard, so they drew their phasers. The one who was approaching must have heard that, because he quickly began yelling through the corridor that he was Nathan. Suspicious as they were, the team stood on their guard, but when a couple of men came around the corner and were in fact Nathan and his team, they relaxed.
Zoarial: It's good to see you Mr Harper, I hope that you feel well enough to be able to withstand in a possible upcoming encounter. Are the Jem'Hadar still in their section?
<<nathan>>
Zoarial: Yeah, so do I, I hope that commander Dixon is working on it, in fact, I'll ask him myself.
Zoarial pressed his commbadge, hoping that it still worked.
Zoarial: =/\=Zoarial to Commander Dixon how are you doing in engineering?=/\=
<<alex>>
Zoarial: =/\=We've got 2 casualties is their a way to transport them out of this surroundings?=/\=
<<alex>>
Zoarial: =/\=Are there any other improvements with getting everything back online?=/\=
<<alex>>
Zoarial: =/\=That’s just what my question is about. At the moment the Jem’Hadar are located in section 13, is it possible to generate a shield around section 13 to keep them there? At the moment we’re guarding the only entrance available to them, but I fear that we might not be able to hold out for long if they want to break through.=/\=
<<alex>>
Zoarial: =/\=Ok, we will stay on our post and await further information, Zoarial out.=/\=
Zoarial turned back to Nathan and gave him a brief summary of what Alex had just said.
Zoarial: We'll we'd better keep monitoring the Jem'Hadar for any movement, because it will take a while for the shield to be up and running. I am still not entirely sure though if the Jem'Hadar are here with hostile purposes
<<nathan>>
Zoarial: Ofcourse, I would surely want to do that too, but I've already learnt that we can never be too carefull. I'll try to find out if there is a possible way to communicate with them.
The only person Zoarial could not think of that would not be busy with his post was the civilian Black. Which Zoarial remembered to have sufficient knowledge of computers to establish a communicationlink to the Jem'Hadar or whoever might be representing them.
Zoarial: =/\=Zoarial to Mr Black, Mr Black come in.=/\=
<<mathew>>
Zoarial: =/\=Well, I would like you to find out who is in charge of this group of Jem'Hadar and after that try to communicate with this person, I want to know what the Jem'Hadar are doing here, please report anything you find out to both Commander Dixon as myself. Good luck! Zoarial out.=/\=
And a second after he finished talking, he heard pounding on the door, the Jem'Hadar weren't satisfied with their room anymore and were about to expand it.

(OOC Sorry about how long this is. It just didn't seem to want to stop. Hi Nephi, don't worry about it. We will still be here (hopefully ;D) when you get back to the Raven)
Alex and PO Karn were trying to gently force the internal security systems online when Alex's comm badge said "Zoarial to Commander Dixon how are you doing in engineering?"
"Things are coming along Mr. Zoarial. Internal sensors are back online and we're working on security systems right now. Hopefully, Mr. Jacobsen will be restarting the warp core soon." Alex replied. "What's your situation?
"We've got 2 casualties. Is their a way to transport them out of this surroundings?" the commander asked.
"Negative, transporters still offline. I can tell you that we've been boarded by 20 Jem Hadar and a Vorta. 10 of them and the Vorta are staying in section 13, and the other 10 are near you in two groups of 5. It looks like the two groups are there to keep you out. The question is, why?" Alex asked in a frustrated voice.
"That’s just what my question is about." Zoarial replied. "At the moment the Jem’Hadar are located in section 13, is it possible to generate a shield around section 13 to keep them there? At the moment we’re guarding the only entrance available to them, but I fear that we might not be able to hold out for long if they want to break through."
"We'll be able to generate some force fields in a few minutes, hopefully. Keep them contained for now and I'll contact you when we're ready" Alex said.
"Ok, we will stay on our post and await further information, Zoarial out."
While Alex had been talking, PO Karn had managed to get the internal security and short range sensors working. Immediately, he and Alex started trying to form force fields on Deck 13 while Lt. Collaan started scanning around the ship.
Alex entered the correct commands into his console, but instead of getting force fields, the computer's voice filled the area. "You do not have sufficient authorization to perform this action."
Dixon blinked and blurted out "What level of authorization do I need?"
"Level 1A or greater" the computer replied.
Level 1A? Or greater? Alex thought to himself. That authorization level was reserved for Admirals only...
Alex closed his eyes gloomily. The Jem Hadar had obviously grabbed the Admiral that they were here to rescue, gotten his authorization codes and were now using them on the Raven. He turned to PO Karn. "Shut down power to the internal security systems, now!" The Klingon quickly complied. At least the Jem Hadar wouldn't be able to use them, either.
Alex leaned on the console and thought. What do the Jem Hadar want? What's on Deck 13? Alex pulled up a schematic of the deck. There didn't seem to be anything of use. The Warp Core passed through the deck, but not near where the Jem Hadar were. Labs, escape pod access, and secondary ODN/EPS trunks. Nothing of overwhelming importance.
Dixon was looking at section 13 when he realized something. There was nothing important on Deck 13, but on Deck 12, directly above where the Jem Hadar were was the anti matter storage tanks. This must be their target.
The Jem Hadar had a ship that could be incapable of warp drive, so they had been capturing ships and stripping them of parts. The Admiral happened along and was captured, and the Jem Hadar laid a trap for whatever Starfleet vessel came along to rescue him. The Raven.
They were here to steal antimatter so they could leave the Briar Patch, and without antimatter, the Raven wouldn't survive inside the hostile environment of the Briar Patch very long. Killing two birds with one stone.
Alex tapped his communicator. "Zoarial. The Jem Hadar are here to steal anti-matter. If they get ours, we won't survive the Briar Patch. I am sending internal scan data to your tricorders. Use it and get the Jem Hadar off the ship."
<Zoarial>
"Mr. Jacobsen. We could really use warp power. How much longer till we're online?"

Nephi had connected the power generator and gotten power restored to Engineering. The console sprung to life, and just about everyone in the room, whether they were Engineers or not, started checking consoles to see what they could find out. Nephi knew that they wouldnt find much.
Nephi held back on the warp core restart until Alex and his team started slowly bringing up the fusion reactors' output. He let the systems get used to running on the fusion energy, so that they didn't notice the warp core and immediately begin drawing from it.
Alex was now busy coordinating with Commander Zoarial and Ensign Harper to get the Jem'Hadar contained. It was time to get moving with the warp core.
Nephi: Alright Joktel, lets get to work. Paria, Williams, come over here. We've got to get the warp core online. Cold-starting it will not be an easy task. But what I'm overhearing from Commander Dixon, the Jem'Hadar are trying to tap into the anti-matter.
Paria: Scanning the conduits, confirming the flow pathways....looks just fine.
Williams: And there's plenty in the tanks. We'll be able to get the fuel to the Core.
Nephi: Well thats a start. Whats the dilithium look like?
Joktel: In perfect working order. We're good there.
Nephi looked up. Commander Dixon was standing next to the Duty Station.
Nephi: Well, we're ready to give it a try. Assuming all goes well, it'll be just a few minutes. ::he turned back to the consoles:: Alright, lets get going. Williams, power up the dilithium matrix. Joktel, open up the injector ports; start with a 25:1 matter/antimatter intermix ratio; start it slow. Paria, keep an eye out for any anamolies in any of the systems that will affect it.
Williams: Powering up the dilithium matrix....looks good.
Joktel: Initiating 25:1 intermix ratio.
The warp core began to spring to life. A small of swirling began in the chamber, seeming to bring a glow to Engineering
Paria: We're looking good so far; stable reaction.
But she spoke too soon. The swirling slowed and stopped again.
Nephi: What happened?
Paria: The anti-matter injector locked up. Correcting it.
Nephi: Alright, lets try this again. Joktel, bring us back up to 25:1.
The Core began to swirl once more.
Paria: Its stable so far.
Nephi: Lets wait a few moments, see what happens.
They stood back and watched it. Others in Engineering watched it as well. The Engineers in particularly looked from the Core to Jacobson, noticing that he was just standing there. They knew it wasn't up to full power, yet he was just watching it.
Nephi: Alright, its looking good. Bring us to 20:1 intermix.
The Core once again increased its activity-level. The engineers in the room were looking more hopeful. The Bridge crew looked absolutely ecstatic about that level of activity. Unlike the engineers, they couldn't tell the intermix ratio by looking at the core.
Paria: Still stable.
Nephi: Alright, bring it to 15:1 over a 5-second period.
It slowly grew brighter and brighter. It was like a heart pumping more and more blood. It was a beautiful sight to the weary engineers.
Nephi: Alright, lets give it one boost. Bring to 10:1 over a 10-second period.
The core slowly came to its full strength. Paria turned this time, smiling.
Paria: It's stable, Nephi. We're going strong.
Nephi: Excellent ::he turned:: Commander Dixon, I am happy to report that the Warp Core is up to full power.

Alex looked up as the Chief Engineer walked up. "Commander Dixon, I am happy to report that the Warp Core is up to full power" he said with a relieved smile on his face.
Dixon smiled back. "I'm equally happy to hear it, Lieutenant. Excellent work. Our next problem is the Jem Hadar. I think that they're using the the magnetic flow conduits between the antimatter processing structure on Deck 14 and the storage tanks that are on Deck 12. They're going to access the conduits and draw antimatter into whatever storage container that they brought with them."
Nephi frowned at the concept of untrained beings fooling around with his warp engines.
<Nephi>
"I agree. And we have to make sure that they lose access to the antimatter. If they feel that they're losing, the Jem Hadar might be tempted to blow up the antimatter" Alex said. "Is it possible for us to use pattern enhancers around the Jem Hadar to beam them off with the transporters?"
<Nephi>
"I suppose. We should talk to Commander Zoarial." Alex tapped his communicator. "Dixon to Zoarial."
"Go ahead."
"Status report" Alex said.
"We are holding position for now. We're waiting for Mr. Black to contact us." Zoarial reported.
Alex frowned in surprise. "Why are you waiting for Mr. Black?"
"I wanted him to try to negotiate with the Jem Hadar, sir" the Commander replied.
Dixon closed his eyes briefly. "I'm sure that we would all appreciate a peaceful end to the situation, Commander. However, in my opinion, the Jem Hadar are here to get antimatter, and the longer we hold off, the more they are going to get. If they get enough, it could jeopardize the Raven's ability to get back out of the Briar Patch. Take your teams and get in direct contact with the Jem Hadar. If you think that communication can resolve this, please do so yourself. Otherwise, take any action you and Ensign Harper feel is necessary to get the Jem Hadar off the ship."
