Majeski sighed as his shuttle dumped him off on the Raven his former post he looked around and noticed nothing changed but the faces he wadded towards his quarters and pokes his head in , they didn't change his swords remianed on the walls where he left them. Pretty much every thing was undisturbed... except his coffee table. His uniform draped across it. He froze and thought WTF the two swords on his belt clinked when he moved and he heard movement behind him and drew the broasword , and whipped around there in the doorway stood dixion ,
"I was wondering if you where comming back"
Majeski stood there and said nothing he held his swords with right arm at and angle in front of him,
"I could have killed you " Majesk said
"Yeah but you know my scent by know don't u think ?" Dixion said
Majeski said nothing and put the broad sword back inot his sash over lapping the katana
"by the way Majeski what happend to your left arm?" Alex noting the lack of one
Majeski's eyes narrowed and said nothing
"Sorry, forget that i asked"

"This is the shuttle Blair to USS Raven. Come in." Dixon looked over at the communications officer and nodded. He opened a channel.
"This is the USS Raven. Go ahead" Alex replied.
"We have a Commander Chris Majeski aboard. Request permission to beam him aboard" was the response.
Chris Majeski? What's he doing out here? thought Alex to himself. "All right, beam him over" Alex said. "Do you need anything else."
"Negative Raven, we need to get back to base. Blair out."
"All right Blair, have a safe trip. Raven out." Alex stood up. "Zoarial, I'm going to go see Commander Majeski. You have the bridge." The Klingon acknowledged with a nod and took the command chair, while Alex left the bridge.
As he rode down the turbolift, he tapped the comm panel and asked where Majeski was. It turned out he had gone to his quarters. Alex made his way there and was about to walk in, then paused. This was Chris Majeski after all. He opened the door and eased his way into the room. He could see Chris staring at a table that had a uniform on it. It also seemed that Majeski no longer had his left arm. Then the elf had turned and a sword appeared in his hand. Alex stood and gave a hard stare to Chris. The sword stopped, and the two of them gazed at one another, in silence. "I was wondering if you where coming back" Alex said. "I could have killed you" Majeski said.
"Yeah but you know my scent by know don't you think ?" Dixon said.
Majeski said nothing and put the broad sword back inot his sash over lapping the katana
"By the way Majeski what happend to your left arm?" Alex asked.
Majeski's eyes narrowed and said nothing
"Sorry, forget that I asked." Alex stared at the elf, who stared back. It seemed that they had both been through a lot in the last while. "Have a seat" Alex said, nodding at the nearest couch. Chris hesitated then walked over and sat down. Dixon sat in a chair near him. "Last I heard, you were Gus' Chief of Staff. What do you want aboard the Raven?"
Chris glared at Alex in response to the blunt question, then slowly shifted his gaze to the floor. "I want to return to the Raven. I thought that things would be alright as Weill's Chief of staff, but..." Chris glanced at his missing left arm... "things didn't work out."
Alex sat back in his chair to think. The Raven was short staffed right now and he could use the help. He also wasn't sure what Captain Weill was going to do. "All right. We'll see how things go. Weill is still captain, and he has asked me to be First Officer. For now, you can take the position as chief operations officer until Captain Weill decides if he is going to remain aboard. Understood?"
Majeski nodded, and Alex stood up. "Well I guess that we should go see the captain, then..."

Giga stood at his console on the Raven, his hands whizzing accross the console, faster than any organic could achieve.
He tapped his comm badge.
"Lt. Giga to Lt. Roberts." He said.
=^= Go ahead Sir =^= The reply came.
"Can you please report to Science Lab 2 and send up the modification specs that were sent through from the Tiger Shark?"
=^= Yes Sir, Ill get right on it =^=
"Aknowledged Lt."
Giga tapped his comm badge, closing the comm. His console flashed, the Stargazer was on long range sensors.
"Bridge to Captain Weill and Commander Dixon, we are now approximately 22 minutes away from the Stargazer. The vessel is on long range sensors." Giga said.
<TAG Commander Dixon>
"Aknowledged Sir." The comm closed and Giga approached Nathan.
"I am Lt. Giga." He said to the officer standing at the Tactical station.
Nathan looked up from what he was working on.
"Oh, the new Cheif of Science?" He asked.
"Yes, that is correct. I have been running tests to determine the best way our departments can combine and run more effectively. Perhaps we should work on these modifications together, seeing as Tactical cannot work with Science."
<TAG Lt. Harper>

Nathan had been retuning the phaser array from the Bridge when the Android approached him. He was pleased actually to get a break from it all.
Nathan wasnt sure whether the Lt. was being serious or not. He seemed a little sure of himself but Nathan didnt think that Androids could be anything but serious.
"Right..." Nathan said. "Ill look it over." Suddenly he felt more inclined to work on the phaser array.
"Very well." Giga said before turning back to his station.
Nathan sighed and decided he would have to work on the phaser array manually in jefferies junction 15B. The programming and wire-network for the phasers was alocated there.
He left the bridge but not before getting a glance at the Stargazer to which they were approaching.
"Interesting..." He said to himself

Alex and Chris were just getting up from their chairs when the intership comm went off. The android voice of Lt. Giga resounded through the ship. "Bridge to Captain Weill and Commander Dixon, we are now approximately 22 minutes away from the Stargazer. The vessel is on long range sensors."
Alex tapped his communicator. "Acknowledged. We're on our way up." The two of them stepped out of the room and to the nearest turbolift, whose doors opened promptly to reveal Admiral Maxwell.
"Hello Alex. It seems that we have arrived at last." Dixon nodded noncommitally. There was little to say to that. Maxwell then turned to the third person on the lift. "Hello, Cmdr. Majeski. I haven't seen you in a while."
<Commander Majeski>
The lift arrived at the bridge quickly and the three of them stepped off. Majeski took his seat at the Chief Operations Officer console, while Alex and Maxwell joined Cpt Weill, who was already in his chair. Weill looked over as Alex sat down and nodded slightly, which Alex took to mean that the captain wanted him to handle the situation for now.
Alex nodded back, noting how tired the captain looked, then turned to the task at hand. "Yellow alert" he announced, not wanting to be completely unprepared. "Zoarial, bring the ship into tractor beam range and stand by. Majeski, send a team to Cargo Bay 1 to check on the parts for the Stargazer and monitor sensors for any ships within range."
<Cmdr. Majeski>
Alex then turned to the Science station. "Lt. Giga, run a complete scan on the Stargazer and compare it to the specs we have on file to see how she's doing, then pipe the results down to Commander Trek. Once you're finished, I'd like to you come with us on the away team to the Stargazer."
<Lt. Giga>
Alex accessed the comm system from his chair. "Bridge to engineering."
Commander Trek answered quickly. "Go ahead."
"Dan, we've found the Stargazer. Assemble an engineering away team and report to Transporter room one as soon as possible" Alex said.
<Cmdr Trek>
Finally, he looked over the Tactical station and was surprised to see that Lt. Harper wasn't there. Alex got on the comm again "Nathan, I'd like you to assign a small team to escort Admiral Maxwell, myself and Lt. Giga over to the Stargazer. I don't feel like having any more surprises on this mission.
<Lt. Harper>
Alex got up from his chair, gathered up the Admiral and Lt. Giga. Together, the three of the them left the bridge on his way to Transporter Room 1.

"Dan, we've found the Stargazer. Assemble an engineering away team and report to Transporter room one as soon as possible."
Dan chuckled. "Commander, you didn't really have to add that "as soon as possible". There are quite a few of us that can't wait to get on that ship. We'll be there in a few minutes."
Paria looked up. "Dan, we've just been sent a mound of data on the current condition of the Stargazer. It includes everything that's inconsistent with known specifications."
"Good, download it."
"I did." She held up the stack of 5 large PADDs. "Shall I bring these with us?"
Dan nodded. "Put them in a case. I'll look at them once I'm done being in awe of the ship."
A moment later, she was done, and placed it in a case. "Okay, I'm ready to go."
Dan looked puzzled. "Who said you were going?"
Paria looked startled. "Oh, come on, Dan. You can't leave me behind on this one."
Dan chuckled. "Of course I wouldn't. Now, they're probably waiting for us by now. Alright now, Joktel, Paria, Ensign Williams, Chief Jarez I'm sure you'll want to go. Well, now lets go, with the largest Engineering detail I think I've ever assembled."
They all laughed a little bit as they left Engineering. Just about everyone took scanning equipment. Williams was even carrying a holo-camera.
It was rather interesting for all of them to pile into the turbolift, particularly with Dan's bulk. They were all quite happy when they reached Deck 4, and exited the turbolift quickly. They also got an interesting look from Dixon.
"Sorry, Alex, but this is one special opportunity, and we didn't want to pass this up. Besides, I've got the experts on every system from this ship, so we should be in good shape. We have the information you sent to us on the differences between what was and now is, which appears to include quite a bit of deteriaration. Fortunately, Chief Jarez here is head of the Damage Control Team. We're ready here. Shall we go?"

Zoarial was bored. He ran into the transporter room to see if he was able to come with the away team, but they were gone when he arrived there. So now Zoarial was kicking against some rocks, mentally, because the Raven was so clean that there wasn't anything to kick against. And without much inspiration to start a program on the holodeck, Zoarial went to the bridge to hang in the captains chair a bit. On his was to the bridge Zoarial thought that he recognized Chris Majeski in one of the people who was walking in the opposite directing, but he remembered him to have two arms, and Zoarial was sure that it would be possible to reattach a limb with the current technology. Zoarial entered through the bridgedoors and sat down in the intended place. He opened a commlink to the away team to see what they were up to. Zoarial: =/\= Commander Zoarial reporting back to duty. Awayteam, how are you doing out there?=/\= <<tag anyone who feels that it is too quiet here on the raven and in its surroundings >>

Alex looked around at the extremely populous away team. It was obvious that everyone aboard ship wanted to get a look at the famous Stargazer before it was moved to the Starfleet museum. From the back of the transporter room, he could see the head of Admiral Maxwell coming his way. "A little crowded in here, isn't it Commander?" he said irritably.
"Yes, sir" Alex replied. "As Dan said, I guess that we should get moving. Admiral, why don't you get on the pad..." Alex waited as the Admiral politely shoved a few ensigns out of his way and stepped up to his place. Alex looked around, then nodded at Dan Trek and said "You and two of your engineers." Trek nodded back and gestured at Joktel and Paria. The three of them walked over to the transporter. Alex then pushed Lt. Giga towards the device, grabbed the first two security people he saw by the arms and joined the throng on the pad.
The transporter pad was crowded. but there was a cheerful air around everyone. Alex said "Energize" and stood quietly for several seconds. Nothing happened. The Commander looked over at the transporter chief, who was staring down at his console. The man obviously hadn't heard him over the murmurred conversations in the transporter room. "QUIET!" Alex said loudly, and a sudden hush fell. This time, Alex caught the transporter chiefs eye and said "Energize" again loudly. This time, the Raven slowly disappeared.
The large group materialized on the bridge of the Stargazer. They all stood gaping for a few seconds at the famous ship. Alex let it go for about a minute, then said "Alright, we have a lot of work to do and you all know what it is. Let's get to it." Dan Trek nodded, gathered up his engineers and one security officer, opened up a ladder that accessed the Jeffries system and left the bridge which left Dixon, Maxwell, Giga and one security officer behind. Alex tapped his comm badge. "Raven, this is the Stargazer. Transport successful. Start beaming the other teams and equipment to their assigned locations. Out." Alex received his acknowledgement and turned to see that Admiral Maxwell had seated himself in the Captain's chair. Alex shook his head quietly, then looked over as a pile of equipment materialized in the middle of the bridge. He walked over, picked up two high intensity lights and set them up, allowing for his first view of the Stargazers bridge.
The space wasn't looking to ship shape. The years of neglect had taken their toll on the old girl. Duranium sheeting covered the floor in areas, and section of the ship frame were visible where the sheeting had fallen. There was loose wiring everywhere, and several consoles appeared to be burned out or smashed. Alex looked over to see that Lt. Giga was wandering slowly around the bridge with a tricorder. "Anything interesting, lieutenant?" he asked.
<Giga>
"Alright, well keep on it. However, I need your help for a second." The android walked over and looked at Dixon expectantly. "Get this fusion generator to the secondary EPS access under the Science console and see if you can get some power to main computer." Giga nodded, easily lifted the incredibly heavy device and carried it over to the Science station.
Just then, Alex was interrupte by his comm badge. "Commander Zoarial reporting back to duty. Awayteam, how are you doing out there?"
"Nice to hear from you Commander. Everything is going as well as can be expected over here. How is the Raven?" Dixon replied.
<Zoarial>
"Good, well keep your eyes open anyway. I don't want any more surprises on this mission. Stargazer out." Alex paused for a second, then opened a channel to Dan Trek. "Bridge to Engineering. How are things going Dan?"
<Dan Trek>

(OOC: Let's see what we can do about improving activity and getting back to what we used to do, shall we? As the group descended, so did the temperature. It seemed to get a little colder with each deck they passed. After crawling down 7 decks, they got off the ladder and began crawling through the tubes. Eventually, Dan opened a hatch, and they all crawled out into Engineering. Dan shivered slightly. "Woo! Brisk, isnt it?" he asked cheerfully. No one else present looked particularly enthusiastic. "Ok, so this is only a few degrees cooler than the average temperature on my home planet. But I must admit, I've gotten used to working under Starfleet's standard environmental settings." Paria inhaled a couple times. "The oxygen's rather thin in here." Dan pulled out a tricorder. "Yes, looks like only 50%, which is quite remarkable given how long this ship's been sitting here. Williams, the smaller of the two cases I handed to you is a supply of Tri-ox. Get it out." After Williams had opened it, Dan came over, and took the hypospray from inside the case. He inserted a vial of Tri-ox in, then started injecting people with it. "That should last us a while, at least till they get Life-support back online. Everyone keep with slow, regular breaths. Fast breathing will only make the problem worse. Now, lets start checking this ship out." The equipment cases came open. It seemed everyone had brought handheld power generators with them, as they all started places them on consoles and activating them. Dan took a tricorder and went over to the Warp Core and began scanning. Joktel came over after a few moments. "What's it look like?" Dan looked at his tricorder again. "Ever seen deuterium freeze right in to injector?" Joktel was surprised. "Freeze? As in completely frozen? How did that happen? It's not that cold in here." "Ah yes, but apparently the injector conduit is quite cold as well, which has provided a temperature buffer for the deuterium. The whole thing is literally frozen." "So what do we do?" "Well, it looks like the temperature is just barely below what it takes to warm the thing back up so that the deuterium can sublimate. Let's hope they get Life Support up and running soon." Jarez called over. "Looks like we've got small breaches all over the place. Bulkheads have sealed off those areas though, so we should be okay." Williams called over from where he was as well. "On the whole, I'd say the Warp Systems look alright. They're just a little cold and clogged. Warming them should help considerably." Paria sighed. "I cant get to the Main Computer without more power." Dan nodded. "Well theres a small fusion reactor on the Bridge, so lets hope they get that hooked up soon." Just then, Alex's voice came over the comm. "Bridge to Engineering. How are things going Dan?" Dan tapped his comm-badge. "Well, for starters, its rather cold and dark down here. The temperature is about 10 degrees down here. Nothing I can't handle but I'm sure my team would appreciate it being higher. The air is rather thin too, though I've injected everyone with Tri-ox so we'll be ok for now. The Warp core is essentially frozen, though I've determined just a little heat will warm it sufficiently to work again. Looks like we've got widespread damage and basically decay from years of neglect." He sighed. "Once you have that generator online, would you mind working on getting Life Support online? It'd be nice if we didnt have to worry about getting too cold or running out of air."

Zoarial: =/\=The raven is doing okay commander, I'm executing a continuous scan to prevent us from getting any surprises. If you need any equipment I would be glad to beam them over. There seem to be no threats at the moment, so you're quite safe over there on the Gazer.=/\=
Alex: =/\=Good, well keep your eyes open anyway. I don't want any more surprises on this mission. Stargazer out.=/\=
After the link was closed Zoarial sat back and relaxed, there wasn't anything suspicious going on which caused a low level of activity on the bridge. Zoarial nodded toward David to keep an eye on everything.
Zoarial: I'll be on the holodeck, if there is anything unusual, anything at all, just send a message and I'll be here right away.
David nodded in return and Zoarial left the bridge.
When he got to his quarters he opened a drawer and retrieved a pack of cards. No ordinary ones with spades, hearts, clubs and diamonds, but a special sort, used for a special sort of game. Briscola it was called.
He put it in his pocket and went to the holodeck, when he arrived there he saw that it was empty.
Zoarial: Computer, load program BPC 2.7
In the small amount of leisure Zoarial had, he devised a small card playing program. The surroundings matched those of a real casino, but instead of poker, the people present played briscola. He hoped that he would be able to work out all the flaws, because he wanted to learn the game to some other crew members and maybe even start a small tournament. If there was time of course.
After a couple hours of playing Zoarial smiled approvingly. He left the holodeck and ordered the computer to terminate the program and load the editor. Within minutes Zoarial worked out some small errors that he had scribbled down on his PADD.
Zoarial: Computer, save program to BPC 2.8
After the confirming bleep Zoarial turned back to the bridge. He was awake and had no intentions of using this free time to sleep. He sat down and waited for new orders.
*Maybe I can drop in the Gazer later* Zoarial thought to himself and he ran some random system scans.

Alex listened carefully to the Engineers report. "Acknowledged Dan. Unfortunately, we can't do anything about Life Support until we get the Main Computer up and running so that we can do a diagnostic on the system. I'd hate to turn it on and have Life Support spew out something besides breathable air" Alex said.
"I agree. That doesn't sound like very much fun at all" Dan replied dryly.
Alex suppressed a smile. Dan was always good for a bit of a laugh, even at the worst of times. "Dan, what's possibility of the Stargazer making it to the Starfleet museum under her own power?"
<Dan Trek>
"All right. Well, see what you can do. I'll get Zoarial to get the Raven into position in case we have to tow the Stargazer. Bridge out." Alex closed the channel and turned to Lt. Giga, who was at the Science station and had been joined by Admiral Maxwell. "How are the repairs going, lieutenant?"
Giga looked up from the console, but his hands continued to move extremely quickly on the controls. "Primary interface to the EPS system complete. Now feeding power to the Main Computer and feeding data return to the Science console." The keys and monitors of the Science station began to glow with their own light. "Main computer online, Commander. Running at 53.87% efficiency right now."
"Why is that rating so low?" the Admiral asked.
Giga spent a few seconds running diagnostics on the main computer. "Isolinear chip bank on Deck 5 has overloaded, and the main data trunk has degraded severely. Access to the secondary trunk is not possible due to a line break somewhere on Deck 3. Also, a large number of chips and data transfer systems have degraded over time" the android reported tonelessly.
Alex shrugged. As long as the Main Computer was working, everything else could be ignored. He had more important priorities right now. "That's fine, lieutenant. Start a level 2 diagnostic on the Life Support systems, then do the same on the main deflector and navigational systems. Do one thing at a time so we don't overload the computer." Giga nodded and started entering commands, while the Admiral returned to the Captain's chair.
Alex walked over to the pile of equipment in the middle of the bridge, picked up a small generator and took it to the operations officer station. He spent a few minutes hooking the two of them together, then started establishing a connection between the bridge and engineering so that he could monitor the progress of the repairs.

Alex quickly completed the link between the bridge and engineering using the Operations console. Now that it was done, he had a clearer understanding of what Commander Trek was doing down there. It looked like they were doing the same thing that the contingent on the bridge was doing, hooking up generators to feed power to long inactive systems.
As he was working, Lt. Giga said loudly "Diagnostic on Life Support complete. The system is capable of working, but on very low levels only."
"Thank you Giga" Admiral Maxwell replied. "Activate Life support and use if for areas where we have crew only."
Giga nodded, but Alex had something to say. "Giga, Dan has reported that systems down there are frozen. See if he needs Life Support in any other sections to speed up the restart of the Stargazer." Alex saw that Maxwell glance at him for a second, but let it go. It was just as well. Dixon was in actual charge of the mission and his word was final, Admiral or no.
Alex tapped his comm badge again. "Dixon to Raven. Zoarial, it's entirely possible that the Stagazer will need a tow. Get the Raven into position and rig her up for towing duty."
<Zoarial>
After receiving his acknowledgement, Dixon went back to working on the Operations console and monitored Life Support as it sent needed oxygen to sections of the ship.

Zoarial was getting the Raven in position, he wasn't really confident that the stargazer would be able to get away on it's own. A quick checkup with engineering told Zoarial that the tractor beam was able to operate on full capability, so now he was only a button away from sending the beam to the Stargazer.
Zoarial: =/\=Commander Zoarial to Commander Dixon, requesting permission to activate tractor beam and start flying back to the starbase.=/\=
Alex: =/\=Approved.=/\=
Zoarial:=/\=Sir? Is there any possibility that the Stargazer will be able to fly on it's own very soon? It'll take years to get back when we have to tow the Gazer all the way=/\=
<<alex>>
Zoarial: =/\=Ok, I'll ask commander Trek right away, I'll also inform what he thinks that the advisable speed is whilst towing the Stargazer. Raven out.=/\=
Zoarial closed the channel to Alex and opened one to Dan immediately afterward.
Zoarial: =/\=Commander Trek, what speed would you advise to prevent the tractor beam from losing it's grip on the Stargazer? Furthermore do you think that you will get the ship up and running again very soon? It'll severely slow the Raven down.=/\=
<<Dan>>
Zoarial: =/\=Ok thank you very much. Zoarial Out.=/\=
With a push on the button Zoarial fired the tractor beam and when a good lock was confirmed he set course for Starbase Assailant.

"Not very good, I'm afraid. Given about a week I can have this thing ready to withstand Warp Tow. I would need two or three weeks to get this ship capable of running on its own, and even then I can only gurantee about a 50% chance that we would make it back to Assailant without having to stop again for a major repair."
"All right. Well, see what you can do. I'll get Zoarial to get the Raven into position in case we have to tow the Stargazer. Bridge out." The comm-link closed.
A few minutes later, a new hum filled the room. "Life Support is coming back online." Jarez called from across the room.
Dan just stood there as he felt the air quality improving and the room heating. "Now doesnt that feel good. That should get the Warp Systems thawing back out. Williams, get the temperature up to 30 degrees. We'll be a little uncomfortable, but it'll help thaw things out." Dan pulled off his uniform jacket to prepare for the heat. "Paria, how's the generator coming?"
Paria was over in the corner next to an old power junction, connecting the generator. She turned. "Almost done. We should be ready to bring the Engineering Computer online soon."
Dan nodded. Joktel called over. "Dan, come over here and take a look at this!"
Dan came over to the panel Joktel had removed. Joktel looked up. "Check this out."
Dan crouched down. "Duotronic circuitry. Doesn't surprise me. The Stargazer-class predates Isolinear circuitry by almost 50 years. And this ship predates it by about 20 years. Even after this ship was recalled back into service for the Dominion War, due to the emergencies of the situation, they couldn't really afford the time to refurbish the entire computer system, so they just left it. I didn't join Starfleet until 25 years after they replaced duotronics, so I never got a chance to work with it. My people had a similar technology however. What an opportunity. Almost makes me nostalgic towards the Old Days." He sighed happily. "But anyway. You took 23rd Century technology at the Academy didn't you?"
Joktel nodded. "Yes sir. My Professor in the subject decided that we should have pratical experience with it, so he actually had a simulated Engine Room built with duotronics so we could practice."
"Very good." Dan was sweating heavily now from the heat, and removed his uniform shirt as well, leaving the tank-top. Joktel stared at him. "What?"
Joktel shook it off. "Nothing, Dan. I just hadnt seen so much of your skin before. You are, after all, the only orange-skinned on the crew."
"Well, at present this ship shouldn't be pulled faster than quarter-Impulse. Any faster would tear it apart, and that wouldn't be good."
=/\=Ok thank you very much. Zoarial Out.=/\=
A few moments later, the ship shook. "We've been tractored!" Jarez called over. A moment later, they were all thrown. Dan and Joktel were both knocked flat on their backs. "We're moving at quarter-Impulse! Hull stress increasing."
Dan sighed, not so happily. "And inertial dampeners aren't online yet. I didn't realize Zoarial meant to move right now." He tapped his comm-badge.
=/\= Trek to Zoarial. Commander, I order you to disengage the engines immediately! =/\=
=/\= Sir? =/\=
=/\= I didn't realize you meant to move this ship already! You can't just pull up to a ship like this and start towing it! We would get it there in worse shape than its in already. The historians would have my head if I damaged it while retrieving it!." He stopped, wiping sweat off his brow. "Sorry, Zoarial. It's just warm in here and the temperature is getting to me. Now, disengage engines....slowly. We dont have inertial dampeners. =/\=
=/\= Aye sir =/\=
The ship slowed, and shook slightly as it came to a stop. Williams called over. "The core's almost thawed!"
Dan smiled. "That's good news, Jake. Now we can work on other systems, once Paria has the Computer online."
She straightened up from a console. "Well then, I've got good news for you as well." She tapped the console. The whole room lit up. "The Engineering core is online."
"Excellent." He tapped his comm-badge. =/\= Trek to Dixon. We've got the Warp Core unfrozen and the Engineering Computer is back online. The work will go a bit faster from here on =/\=

The Stargazer gave a shudder as the Raven's tractor beam took hold. For the first time in what was probably many years, the old ship was moving towards a Starbase. Dixon ran a quick check on the inertial compensators and found that they were not online yet. It's lucky standard procedure dictates that a tow starts slowly, Alex thought to himself. He called up the schematics for the inertial compensators on the Operations console. The system was just degraded, like everything else on the ship. He decided to augment the processing power of the inertial compensators with the Main Computer and the shuddering of the ship was reduced greatly. However, it was still noticeable.
Alex had been monitoring the comm signals between the Stargazer and the Raven, and was suddenly inundated by calls from the Chief Engineer to Commander Zoarial to stop the tow. The Raven's navigator complied quickly and the Stargazer shuddered to a stop. Dixon looked around the bridge and said "Is everyone all right?" There were nods from all three of the others.
Alex turned to the Science station. "Lt. Giga, what's the status of the Stargazers main computer?"
"Presently at 89.47 percent capacity, sir" the android replied.
Alex sighed. Even running with the minimum of requirements, they were still approaching the computers limit. If it overloaded, the Raven would have to drag the Stargazer the entire distance. It would take them months to get back. "Does anyone have any suggestions as to how we can shore up this ships' computer?"
Giga interjected quickly. "The Raven could run a multiphased data stream between its main computer and ours. If we use the Raven to run the Stargazers less critical systems, we would not have as high a probability of overloading the Stargazers computer."
Alex nodded. "Nice idea. We could even slave the Stargazer to the Raven's navigation system and run her directly behind the Raven. That way, we wouldn't require resources to run the navigation system or deflector array. I'm sure that Commander Zoarial could fly both ships easily. I guess that I had better see what our Chief Engineer thinks first."
Alex opened a comm channel and said "Bridge to Engineering. We have an idea to reduce computer load up here, Dan. Lt. Giga wants to run a multiphased data stream between the Stargazer so the Raven can run the Stargazers less critical systems and perhaps allow Zoarial to control both ships using the helm controls on the Raven. We also wouldn't have to worry about using the Stargazers navigational deflector. What do you think?"
<Dan Trek>
"All right, we'll see what we can do." Alex tapped his communicator. "Dixon to Majeski. I need you to set up a multiphasic data link between the main computers of the Raven and the Stargazer so that we can reduce load on the systems here."
<Majeski>
"Thanks Chris. Put me through to Zoarial."
There was brief pause, then the gravelly voice of the Klingon sounded. "Go ahead Commander."
"Zoarial, we have an idea over here to reduce the load on the Stargazer's computer here by slaving this ship to the Raven's helm controls. Do you feel up to piloting both ships at once?"
<Zoarial>
He had just closed the channel to Zoarial when Trek's voice filled the bridge. "Trek to Dixon. We've got the Warp Core unfrozen and the Engineering Computer is back online. The work will go a bit faster from here on." Dixon was about to answer when he happened to glance at Admiral Maxwell. He had been entering information into a data PADD while standing behind Lt. Giga. Alex was puzzled for a moment, then put it out of his mind. He had more important things to worry about.
"All right Dan. We're trying to set up the multiphasic data stream up here. You might start seeing an improvement in main computer performance shortly. Bridge out."

Petty Officer Darryl Wainwright was cautiously making his way through Deck 10, section 14, shining his wrist light ahead of him. He was on his way to examine a overloaded EPS relay junction in section 19. Commander Trek had sent him on this little job to further the possibility that the Stargazer could make its way to Starbase Conqueror under its own power. Wainwright wasn't too hopeful, given the state of the ship, but it was better than having the Raven tow her. That would take a long time, and he had already had about enough of this particular mission.
He looked back over his shoulder. "Baraq, hurry it up!" The Vulcan he had been assigned with didn't seem to have the agility to climb easily over all the debris on the deck, but at least he was good with EPS conduits. He could see Baraq's light about 15 meters behind him, moving very slowly around a pile of duranium ducting.
Wainwright turned his attention back to his path and walked forward another 10 meters, until he heard a crash and a startled yelp. He quickly turned his light backwards, but his Vulcan counterpart was nowhere in sight. Wainwright couldn't even see Baraq's light.
Cursing to himself about clumsy Vulcans, the Petty Officer made his way back to where he thought the man had been, and continued to walk well past where he thought Baraq might have fallen. There was nothing to see.
Wainwright started moving his hand towards his communicator, but a shadowy alien shape streaked from a dark corner near the ceiling and hit him violently. Wainwright vaguely felt himself being dragged away, then lost consciousness.

(OOC: Note, Deck 10 is also the bottom deck on a Constellation class, just so ya know ) "That would work, but why not take it a step further? Especially if we choose to go with Warp Tow, why not control the ship almost entirely by remote? We can set up a makeshift, remote-operation Bridge for the Stargazer in the Engine Room of the Raven. I myself could be in Command of that, once I get back to the Raven. Also, if we operate under Warp Tow, that means we won't have to run the majority of the ship's systems, particularly propulsion. Not using the Warp Core and related systems frees up a large majority of the Engineering Computer Core, to which we can transfer some of the ship's functions that are normally in the Main Computer. Granted, I'd have to leave a small team of Engineers on the Stargzer just in case something goes wrong, but Joktel is more than qualified to head that up." <Alex> Joktel came over, looking a little worried. "We haven't heard from Wainwright or Baraq in over half an hour. They were supposed to report in 10 minutes ago, but never did." =/\= Trek to Baraq or Wainwright, please respond =/\= He got only silence. "Paria, bring Internal Sensors online," Dan said, looking over at her, worried about the possibility that the ship might not have been empty when they got there. She did so. "I'm reading an indeterminate number of unidentified life-forms on Deck 10." Dan raised what would be his eyebrow if he had any. "Indeterminate?" She looked it over. "Yeah. Its not a fully corporeal entity. It must be just one, or multiple, but the computer can't even if one stops and the next begins, let alone where. Baraq and Wainwright are in its immediate vicinity. I'm also getting a faint residual energy signature from the hull near that section." "Which means they probably went through the hull. This complicates things." He tapped his comm-badge. =/\= Trek to Dixon. We've got an unidentifiable life-form on Deck 10, and 2 of my Engineers in the vicinity aren't responding. (OOC: So we're not the only ones here after all )

Alex listened to Dan's concept of the Warp Tow. It all sounded fine to him. "All right Dan, send up the parameters so that we can configure the Stargazer's computer and I'll get Lt. Giga on it." Alex received acknowledgement and closed the channel, while Giga began accessing the needed pathways into the Stargazers computer.
Alex occupied himself with continuing to expand the control of the Ops console over the operations of the Stargazer. He was thinking that if he managed to get the unit operating at about 70% efficiency, it might be used to establish control over the Stargazer and communicate with the Raven's main computer and allow the Warp Tow that Dan wanted.
While he was working, his comm badge chirped. "Dixon. Go ahead."
"Trek to Dixon. We've got an unidentifiable life-form on Deck 10, and 2 of my Engineers in the vicinity aren't responding."
"Damn! Stand by." Alex turned to Lt. Giga. "Wasn't the Stargazer scanned before we came aboard?"
"Yes sir. That is standard procedure and I completed the scan myself. We picked up no life signs of any kind, just some anomalous energy reading that the computer attributed to open battery access nodes" the android replied.
Angrily, Alex opened a channel to the Raven. "Dixon to transporter room one. I have two potentially injured crew on Deck 10 of this ship. Beam them to Sickbay immediately!"
There was a pause, then the transporter chief said "I can't get a positive lock on them. It seems like they are phasing in and out of normal space. If I try to transport, chances are I won't get all of them."
"Stop trying then, and standby to transport two security teams over. Dixon out." Alex took a breath, then opened another channel. "Dixon to Harper and Zoarial, we have lost two crew members to unknown life forms here on Deck 10. Organize two security teams woth one of you in charge of each and beam over."
<Zoarial, Harper>
"Dixon to Trek. We haven't been able to beam your engineers out. The transporter can't get a positive lock. Unless you have some better idea, I have two security teams forming up on the Raven to recover them."

OFF: grrr... Do you know the feeling, that you finish a post, and then... POOF... it disappears? I know it all too well... Here i go again... with the cut-down version of the post which has just vanished into thin air ON: Zoarial wasn't too excited about having to steer the Stargazer. In his view it was a worthless piece of junk, and he had already proved that by towing it without much subtlety. He knew that he wouldn't be able to steer the Stargazer the way the others wanted him to, so he was glad when Dan suggested to transform a part of engineering into a second bridge. It didn't really surprise Zoarial that Dan took the responsibility out of his hands, and he was relieved that this burden glided from his shoulders. Zoarial was sure that he had the capabilities to safely steer the Gazer to its final resting place, but he was also sure that it wasn't in his Klingon nature to be very careful with things that didn't seem valuable to him. While Zoarial was thinking about all the people who were probably angry at him for his lack of delicacy, he was brought back to the real world, rather roughly. Alex: =/\=Dixon to Harper and Zoarial, we have lost two crew members to unknown life forms here on Deck 10. Organize two security teams with one of you in charge of each and beam over.=/\= Zoarial: =/\= Acknowledged, the security teams are on their way. Zoarial out.=/\= Zoarial turned to the CTSO to discuss their approach. Zoarial: Mr Harper, might I suggest that we enclose them again from two sides? The last thing that we would want is the threat to reach engineering, there are many people at work there and I think that we don't want to risk losing them.<<nathan>> Zoarial: I'm fine with that. Let's get moving.Zoarial pointed out a couple of men which he wanted to accompany him to the Gazer (including Haywood) and made sure that Vegas was at his post. After a quick run to the weapon storage he arrived at transporter room one. He gave the coordinates of his destination to the transporter chief and stepped onto the platform. The Raven slowly dissolved and a massive heap of junk appeared right in front of him. Zoarial: =/\= Zoarial to Harper, I am in position. My tricoder shows my that the room is clear of alien life forms, all I can see myself is a load of rubbish=/\= <<nathan>>

Alex was continuing to work on the Operations console to establish the data link between the Stargazer and the Raven. As the computer slowly worked, he also tried to reestablish readings from Deck 10 using the internal sensors. He wasn't having much luck. There weren't many function data paths from Deck 10 to the bridge.
He suddenly felt someone staring at him and glanced up. Admiral Maxwell was staring at him quizically. "Admiral?" Alex said.
"It's nothing Commander. I just thought that you would be on Deck 10 right now" he stated.
Alex looked puzzled. "What would I be doing there?"
The Admiral shrugged. "Taking charge. Finding your lost crewmates. You strike me as a hands on sort of an officer."
"When I'm the First Officer of the Raven, being a hands on officer is my job" Alex replied frostily. "However, right now I'm the Commanding Officer of the USS Stargazer, and my place is on the bridge. I have excellent officers who are more than capable of solving that problem. My job right now is to make sure this ship doesn't blow up and kill us all."
Irritated, Alex returned to working on the Ops console. Why was it that flag officers always seemed to make him uncomfortable? He had yet to find one that he was actually comfortable with. Not that he had met very many.
Suddenly, he could hear a muted beeping coming from where the Admiral was sitting and angled his eyes so he could see without moving his head. Admiral Maxwell had a PADD out and was entering information of some kind. Now what? Alex thought to himself.
"Sir. I have a report" the android voice of Giga drowned out the Admiral's beeping. When he looked up, the Admirals PADD has disappeared.
"Yes lieutenant?" Dixon replied.

Nathan was reading a security readout from the Stargazer when he heard the comm call. He checked the away teams security channel but the computer showed all members safe and where they should be...
"Odd..." Muttered Nathan.
Zoarial approached Nathan and he looked up.
"Mr Harper, might I suggest that we enclose them again from two sides? The last thing that we would want is the threat to reach engineering, there are many people at work there and I think that we don't want to risk losing them."
Nathan nodded, agreeing with what the Commander said.
"Yes, I concur. I will monitor you and the away team from here, there is something wrong with the sensors and I need to recalibrate."
"I'm fine with that. Let's get moving."
Zoarial left with the few men he had chosen, Nathan tagged the crewmembers with mirco-processors. This way he should be able to keep a lock on them at all times.
=^= Zoarial to Harper, I am in position. My tricoder shows my that the room is clear of alien life forms, all I can see myself is a load of rubbish =^=
"I have you Commander, I read nothing in your local area however there are two lifesigns in the room next door to you. I can determine who they are."

Petty Officer Wainwright slowly opened his eyes, then closed them again. There was absolutely no difference. Wherever he was was as dark a place as he had ever seen. It was so dark he couldn't even see his hand in front of his face.
Hand, Wainwright thought. Trying to keep his wits about him, the Engineer attempted to move his hands. No luck. They were being restrained by something. He tried his legs. They were free. He flailed them around a little. There didn't seem to be anything they could touch except the deck. Oddly enough, he could hear nothing more than muffled thumps, like his feet were behind a wall or something.
He tried to shake his hands violently to get rid of whatever was holding them, but all he got was a metallic clinking sound. Wainwright paused. His flashlight must still be on his wrist. He stopped moving while he thought about it. The activation button was on the upper section of the light, on the left. He twisted his right arm, trying to rub the button against his left forearm. After five several minuts of trying, he was rewarded as a bright shaft of light filled the space that he was imprisoned.
Squinting painfully, Wainwright looked around. He was in a tiny space, with a metal plate right in his face and another supporting his head. His body was actually on an angle. He couldn't turn his head enough to see what was holding his hands, so he looked to see what his legs were doing. What he could see of his body terminated at his stomach. He was protruding directly out of a metal deckplate.
Horror struck, he flailed his legs violently. He could hear them on the other side of the metal plate, banging away.
Terror stricken, he looked around. The tiny space he was in seemed to close in on him and he wondered how much air there was for him to breathe. The far wall was shimmering slightly, as if it were moving on it's own. One of the shimmers shifted and moved closer to him, looking like a delicate bubble.
Wainwright had only one thing left to do. He screamed...

=/\= Dixon to Trek. We haven't been able to beam your engineers out. The transporter can't get a positive lock. Unless you have some better idea, I have two security teams forming up on the Raven to recover them. =/\=
Dan tapped his comm-badge. "Nope, no better ideas at the moment, Commander. It's too bad I forgot to bring some site-to-site transporters with me or-"
Williams interrupted him "Actually, Commander, I brought a few with me."
Dan turned slowly towards him. He spoke in a low voice, "Ensign, why did you not mention that while we were climbing 8 Decks to get down here?"
He look startled. "Well, I uh, guess I forgot about it."
"Oh well. Alex, looks like we've got a few site-to-site's here, so let me know. Also, if you need some back-up, I've got quite a bit more tactical experience than most people realize."
<Alex>
"Paria, any further revelations on the nature of this being?" Dan asked, hoping she could provide something useful.
She looked at the sensor reading. "It would appear that, while the essence of the being or beings is non-corporeal, they have the ability to manipulate matter around them to serve as their corporeal form to act upon our realm. I'm reading a weak, free-floating energy matrix that would appear to be a brain or neural-net of some kind. It seems to held together on an amplified effect of the Strong Nuclear Force, but on a far larger scale than that force normally would. The entity seems to manipulate the laws of physics themselves in its immediate vicinity. I'm also reading electrical impulses within it, possible its equivalent of a nervous system. Such an electromagnetic charge might possibly explain why we couldn't communicate with Wainwight or Baraq, as it would interefere with communicators."
Dan nodded. "You get all that, Alex?"

Alex listened carefully as Paria ran down what she had discovered about the odd creatures in the bowels of the Stargazer. Non-physical creatures bound together by one of the basic forces of the universe and capable of interacting with a physical environment by manipulating time space at will. Charming. They could probably tear the Stargazer apart whenever they wanted and there would be very little anyone could do about it. Alex paused for a few seconds to think. But they hadn't torn the ship apart. Maybe there was something aboard the Stargazer that they needed, or wanted.
"Yes, I got all that Dan. Lt. Paria, is there a gravitic field inhibitor aboard the Raven?" Alex asked.
"Yes, sir. There are a few small hand units and the primary one attached to the Main Deflector" she replied.
The Main Deflector dish aboard the Raven would be the only thing around here with enough power to attempt what Alex was thinking. "Contact the Raven and get the inhibitor charged, then recalibrate it to emit a gravitic inhibition field set to..." Alex did some fast calculations on the Ops station "... 43 mega Newtons and target Deck 10."
There was a period of silence from the other end of the line. "But sir, an inhibition field that powerful could slow or even halt meson interchange between the quarks of those creatures" Paria said haltingly.
"I'm aware of that lieutenant, in addition..." Alex replied grimly.
"But that would hurt or even kill them! We don't even know why they're doing what they're doing. You can't do that!" Paria interrupted.
Alex raised his eyebrows. It wasn't often a junior officer told a senior one what they could or couldn't do. "I'm aware of that as well. I'm also aware of the facts that I have two captive crew members, two security teams ready to go rescue them and a properly targeted inhibition field won't hurt them or the Stargazer. I have one crippled starship and one functional one that has over one and fifty crew. My responsibility is to them first." He could already hear her starting to interrupt again and cut her off. "Lieutenant, if you would allow me to finish, I would also like you to contact Lt. Ruten aboard the Raven. These creatures must be sensitive to basic universal forces, especially gravity. Perhaps the field inhibitor on a much lower setting could be used to communicate with them. I realize that our mission is to seek out new life, but we must preserve our own first."
There was a long pause as Paria digested what she had just heard. "Yes sir. Sorry for interrupting you."
"It's alright lieutenant. It's been a difficult mission and I'm sure those two who are trapped down there are friends of yours. Please carry out my orders." Dixon closed the channel.
Alex sat back, but got the feeling that he was being watched again. He looked up to see Admiral Maxwell eyeing him. "Is there a problem Admiral?"
"Not at all, Commander. Some commanding officers might punish a young officer for speaking out like that" he said.
Alex closed his eyes for a second, then opened them back up. "Admiral, may I speak with you in the ready room please?"
Two of them stood up and left the bridge. The Stargazer's ready room was a disaster of shattered conduit and duranium ducting. Calmly, Alex turned to the senior officer. "Admiral, I would appreciate it if you wouldn't question my command abilities in front of the other crew members."
"I was really just wondering if you were going to punish the lieutenant for telling you you couldn't do something" the Admiral replied innocently.
Alex narrowed his eyes. The Admiral seemed a tad amused. Alex was obviously missing something important. "Lt. Paria is an excellent officer and engineer. Part of what makes her that is her desire to seek out and explore. Punishing her for doing her job is counter productive. I'm surprised you don't know that."
The Admiral actually chuckled. "I do know that commander. I was just making sure that you do." Maxwell then turned and walked back to the bridge, leaving a baffled Alex behind.
After a moment, Alex walked back onto the bridge and tapped his communicator. "Commander Zoarial or Lt. Harper, report."

Zoarial was glad that he had some support from the Raven. He wasn't able to get a clear situation sketch himself and luckily Harper DID have a general position and was able to view everything.
Nathan: =/\=I have you Commander, I read nothing in your local area however there are two lifesigns in the room next door to you. I can't determine who they are.=/\=
Zoarial: =/\=Can you at least tell me whether they have a humanoid structure? According to Commander Trek there is an unmistakable distinction between humans and these beings.=/\=
Nathan: =/\=Positive, if Dan is right these two lifeforms have to be our crewmembers=/\=
Zoarial: =/\=Could you send the layout of the room to my PADD? I could use some visual aid?=/\=
Nathan: =/\=Information transmitted, I'll keep you up to date with any further changes commander, Harper out=/\=
With a slight nod Zoarial looked at the plans, the room provided enough cover for the team to get into position, but there weren't to many things for the aliens to hide behind. While he was trying to think up a good approach, he was interrupted by the chime of his commbadge.
Alex: =/\=Commander Zoarial or Lt. Harper, report=/\=
Zoarial: =/\=Zoarial reporting, I have learned that our two crewmembers are on the other side of the wall I'm leaning against. I am ready to take the room by force to save the two less fortunate people, and I await your orders commander=/\=
<<Alex>>
Zoarial: =/\=I'll stand by till the other team is in position sir. I have sent them away a couple of minutes ago so I'm expecting to get a report any... =/\=
Zoarial was interrupted by a horrifying scream coming from the adjacent room.
Zoarial: =/\=I'm sorry that I can't wait for the other team to get in position sir, but I just can't let these poor men die. I'm going in!=/\=
<<alex>>
Zoarial: =/\=If that's the order I'll stand by sir, but hurry up with whatever you want to do, I don't think that the captives are going to live much longer.=/\=
