Matt was dissapointed because his lack of knowledge about the Raven's previous mission. This would mean that he would be spending the next few hours reading over the crew's mission report and everything concerning the disappearance of the Admiral.
The meeting was soon concluded and every senior officer made there way out of the conference room and to there respective station. The only person to stay behind was himself and about a dozen or so PADD's. After about three hours of reading, Matt felt that he knew as much as he was going to know and joined the bridge crew.
Before he sat down in his first officer chair, he made an runthrough all the departments present on the bridge. Like it was second nature, Matt headed towards the operations officer, Carl Torek. The young officer was very promising and well recommended, but then again they had yet to see him in action.
"Hello Mr. Torek," Matt said," how is your first day of official duty?"

At the sound of his name, Carl turned to see the Executive Officer standing by him ...
"Well .. I would be lying if i didn't say that it's a little daunting Sir I'm trained for this but almost nothing can dispel those 'first day' nerves. I just hope i don't let you and the Captain down." he said, then continued, "I have checked all departments are ready for departure Sir but if you would care to double check ... All crew members present and accounted for by their respective departments. The missing photon torpedo's have been loaded while we were in the meeting, so we are fully armed. It seems they were shipped to dock six by mistake. The Dock Master is satisfied the Raven is ready to leave and is awaiting our request to depart ... "

"Mr. Torek, how old are you?" Matt asked knowing that this question would confuse his operations officer.
"Sir?" Torek asked confused.
"How old are you?" he asked again.
"25 sir," Torek responded.
"Well, Mr. Torek it may surprise you to know that I'm only 22," Matt said smiling," I know it's strange, hell I'm surprised that I'm a commander, but that being said please do not call me sir when we are having a one on one conversation. It makes me sound old."
<Tag Torek>
"Okay, please inform all the departments that we are green lighted to leave dock," Matt said and then headed towards his seat. The captain was still in his ready room and Matt would let him choose when it was time to depart.
After waiting for a couple of minutes, Captain Smith made his way to the bridge and as customary Matt called the bridge to attention. "Captain on deck." This seemed to surprise the Captain, but he recovered quickly.
"Commander?" the Captain inquired.
"All departments report ready, Bellicose has given us permission to leave dock, and as Mr. Torek informed me those missing photon torpedoes are where they are supposed to be," Matt reported and waited for the Commander's response.

The question concerning Carl's age had, to say the least, thrown him .. He had been expecting any number of inquiries concerning the readiness of the Raven-A .. As a consequence, it had taken him several seconds to reply. Long enough it seemed, for the Executive Officer to repeat his question.
"I'm twenty five Sir." Torek finally responded.
"Well, it may interest you to know, that i'm only twenty two .. I know it's strange .. Hell, I'm surprised i'm a Commander myself .. That said, Please don't call me 'Sir' during our one to one conversations .. It makes me sound old."
"Yes Sir ... No ... erm ... sorry ... Matt." Carl said, more than a little self-consciously.
"Matt will do fine Carl." said the Commander smiling, before moving to take his seat.
Torek decided to run last-minute checks on several systems. The last thing he wanted was something to go wrong during their departure.
"Captain on Deck !" Announced the Executive Officer.
Everyone on the bridge stood to attention as the Captain, looking slightly surprised for a second, took his seat, then resumed their preparations for the Raven's departure from Star base Bellicose ..........

E'Liana made her way to Sickbay, quickly calling in to her quarters to get her young cousin Grilka who was innocently terrorising Lursa - quite a feat considering she was a semi-feral cat.
"We're going to Sickbay, you can be the Doctors Assistant, does that sound fun?"
The young girl grinned, showing her Klingon teeth. "Do I get to be in charge of people?" She asked, a rather disturbing glint in her eye.
E'Liana shook her head and laughed. "Only if you get a promotion..." She replied. This seemed to sedate Grilka for a while.
When they made it to Sickbay, they went into E'Liana's office, waiting patiently for the two Nurses to arrive. When Nurse Packer and the ever-nervous Bajoran arrived, Grilka was shooed from the office with instructions to entertain herself. After five minutes of conversing with her medical team, E'Liana suddenly realised her own stupidity and groaned internaly. Luckily, all Grilka had done was somehow access the EMH and was now talking to him whilst sitting on a biobed, legs swinging happily in the air, totally unfazed by the EMHs blunt manner.
~Perhaps she can really be of some use afterall....~ She mused happily to herself.

Steve was just finishing up in the briefing room and was about to leave when suddenly his padd beeped. He stopped in his tracks and went to look at it. After a few brief moments the message appeared on the screen. It was from Arya.
Steve, there is something going on here. We have a strange reading about something. I'm not sure what to make of it. You might want to take a look. I commanded the officer here to keep quiet so as not to spook the crew.
He sighed and scratched his head. 'We are still docked, so what could be giving off a reading?' He wondered, and picked up the padd as he left the room. Upon walking the corridors towards the bridge, several junior officers came to attention as he walked past them, and Steve acknowledged them. He still wasnt used to the fact that was was now Captain of the Raven, albeit temporarily.
Steve took the nearest turbolift to the Bridge. For a briefest second all was calm...and then:
"Captain on Deck." Called out Mr Reynolds.
'Hmm, I may have to have a word to people about that. Doesn't make me feel too comfotable.' Steve thought to himself.
As Steve approached his chair, Matt came up to speak to him.
"All departments report ready, Bellicose has given us permission to leave dock, and as Mr. Torek informed me those missing photon torpedoes are where they are supposed to be."
"Ah, good." Steve replied. "It's always good to know that the torpedoes are where they should be...not exactly something we want going missing, are they?" He added, smiling. He took a quick look at the viewscreen, then around the Bridge, and then finally to the centre chair.....the chair that by rights, Admiral Mc7 SHOULD be occupying. 'We'll find you sir...I promise you.'
"Ok, when you are ready, take us out." He ordered, and made his way over to Arya, who was still standing near the Ops station.
Bringing his voice to a whisper, he asked; "What are these readings you spoke about?"

Arya had been looking things over, and she sighed when she got no response. She was just about to go see Steve when he suddenly appeared next to her.
"What are these readings you spoke about?"
"Not here please, your ready room," she said and walked off the bridge entering his ready room from the backdoor.
Arya noticed he was there not looking happy.
"I'm sorry, but I couldn't have said what I needed to on the bridge. I think we are being watched, and I don't like it. Do you think someone higher up suspects one of the crew for the admiral's disappearance?"

"I can give you those when the meeting has finished, I'll check through his medical records. There may be a way of activating his Borg signature enough to single him out, although that's more your area of expertise..."
"It's as if you read my mind Doctor." McLean replied.
The meeting ended shortly there after and McLean found himself walking alone. As he left he overheard the new First Officer addressing the new Acting Ensign; the thoughts brought back a flood of memories when he first came back to Starfleet.
With his data PADD in hand, McLean continued to look over all the minor details of the ships docking time, double checking repairs, upgrades and anything else that might catch his eye. As he walked he found himself whistling an old Earth tune.
McLean stopped in his tracks and chuckled at the sudden realization before pressing on. He entered the turbo lift with out as much as a glance up from his PADD.
"Sickbay." McLean called out still engrossed in his work.
The doors opened and McLean found himself now in a much busier hallway. Crew members were scurrying about trying to get to their stations before the Raven left the Starbase.
The doors to sickbay slid open and McLean found himself face to face with a bustle of activity. Walking into the good Doctor's office McLean announced his presence.
"Doctor, I was curious if I might download that information before we get underway." McLean asked politely from the opening of BeTor's office.

E'Liana was busy trying to find something for her younger cousin to do before she dismantled sickbay. Grilka, meanwhile, was now sitting in the chair opposite E'Liana kicking her feet hard against it in a most annoying fashion. Just as she had found some work for Grilka to start, she heard someone tap on the window of her office.
"Doctor, I was curious if I might download that information before we get underway."
E'Liana looked up and smiled at the Chief Engineer. "Of course, be my guest" she said, getting out of her chair and motioning for him to sit down. Grilka had now stopped kicking the seat and was looking at Lt Commander McLean with an expression of awe. E'Liana was somewhat unsure why and it worried her a little.
"Grilka" she said, trying to get the young girl's attention. "This is our Chief Engineer. He's helping us rescue Mc7, remember I told you what was going on?"
The girl nodded wordlessly and sat in the chair quietly. McLean smiled at her and sat down at the computer and began to work. Meanwhile, E'Liana excused herself: "If you need anything, just let me know" - and went to speak to Nurse Packer, leaving McLean and Grilka alone.

A small message appeared on Zoarial's padd. *I M B! EB* but it was enough for the reciever to know that the CMO was filling out files again.
Zoarial knew that he had been a bit blunt to E'Liana and decided to offer her a friendly fight with the bath'let on the holodeck. He hurried to sickbay while holding the Bath'let behind his back. Because of his broad pusture he managed to fully cover it.
The doors slid open, and Zoarial saw E'Liana walking out of the office. "Hey E'Liana, do I still need to have that physi..." But then he saw Matt sitting on one of the biobeds.
"Oh." Zoarial said disappointed. "I'll be on the bridge if you need me."
He took his seat behind the helm and sat ready for departure.
"Ok, when you are ready, take us out." Steven ordered, and Zoarial set course for the colony of New London. It was a bit busy within the area of the starbase. But in a short while they were in warp and underway.
"Should we decide to spare the engines, we'll arrive there in a week sir." Zoarial informed the captain, and pretended to be busy tapping his PADD. In fact, he was playing a card-game.

Carl had run all the tests he could. He was just waiting for the Captain to confirm with Bellicose that he was ready to depart. He had also overheard the conversation about the anomalous readings ... But thought, in the circumstances, he was best to forget them. If his assistance was needed they would ask for it, he thought.
However, these thought's were interrupted by the Executive Officer.
"Mr Torek." he asked, "Is everything ready for our departure ?"
"Yes Sir ... Bellicose has confirmed clear passage. Umbilicals have been cleared. They will tractor us clear of the dock, then we are free to engage engines."
The Captain spoke into his Comms, then to Commander Zoarial.
"OK .. When you are ready .. Take us out."
Ra'wl' waited patiently while the Starbase maneuvered the Raven and rotated her through one hundred degrees, so she faced the Space-doors. Then he engaged thrusters and carefully took the ship through and out into open space. The Raven was free of her harbor. Once again she was heading into open space..
Zoarial set a course for the Colony of New London. As Torek watched the view screen, the Starbase vanished behind them .. Engaging warp drive sooner than was strictly allowed, The Raven-A arrowed gracefully toward her destination ..........

The Raven was gracefully heading towards its destination, New London. The ship could arrive at there location in three days if they pushed the engines, but that was something they couldn't afford. The search for the Admiral was important, but they couldn't risk the lives of the Raven crew without just cause.
Matt felt uneasy just sitting in his chair and so he got up from his seat. He could clearly see the ship's pilot playing a card game on a PADD. It took a lot of concentration to not burst out laughing.
"Commander is that a report for me?" Matt asked Zoarial.

After inspecting the rest of the bridge, Matt made his way towards engineering and the Chief Engineer, whom he had yet to really meet.
"Commander McLean right?" Matt said when he saw the chief engineer.

If you need anything, just let me know"
"Thank you Doctor." McLean replied form behind her desk.
Every other second McLean found himself leaning past the doctor's monitor to see what Grilka was doing. He found her innocent playful attitude of nice relief from the stressful environment of engineering. What amused McLean the most was how much she reminded him of his own daughter back on Earth.
It didn't take long for McLean to gather the information he was looking for. Being the chief engineer of a starship had it's advantages as most of the information he was trying to look up was 'classified'; but with everything the right amount of finesse took care of any obstacles.
With the information finally downloaded onto his PADD, McLean needed to get back down to Main Engineering and start running the bio signs through the ships scanning fields.
"Thank you Doctor." McLean said as he walked through sickbay.
McLean received a polite response before leaving sickbay altogether. While he walked he felt the ship go into warp, most people wouldn't notice the difference, but McLean found feel the sudden change in ship vibration as the warp core's hum increased.
McLean had been back down in Main Engineering for the past couple of hours when suddenly he heard a voice from behind him.
"Commander McLean right?" The voice asked.
"That's me." McLean replied. When he didn't hear a response McLean turned his head and saw who was addressing him, "I'm sorry sir." McLean said turning around to face the First Officer, "What can I do for you sir?"

"A report for you sir? I don't know what you're talking about." Zoarial replied innocently, he decided that it was best to act professional and not think of the 'incident' in sickbay. "I was just reviewing the updates to the helm. There's some fancy alterations that should make the life of a CNO even more boring, if you know what I mean." While the position of a navigations officer didn't require a lot of work, the updates meant that even more system would be automatic, which meant that Zoarial had almost nothing to do unless they switched over to manual.
"I'll probably stick with the older version." he continued. "That is, if your majesty allows it." Zoarial added with a wink and noticed that he had just reached a new highscore.
<<Matt>>
"Various reasons, apart from the one I just mentioned." Zoarial explained. "You might want to review some of the previous mission reports. We had an 'intelligent' gel-pack installed in the ship to monitor potential dangerous situations and it ended up taking over the ship. We had to let go of the captain together with his personal shuttle to prevent thousands of lives or more to be lost."
<<Matt>>
"If you have any more questions, I'd be happy to answer them." Zoarial offered. "At the moment I'm the longest serving member aboard the Raven and I've had the longest personal experience with this vessel and it's history. I don't have to rely on reports like you do."
<<Matt>>
Zoarial nodded and Matt continued his inspections of the bridge.

Matt couldn't help, but look at the PADD that, the helmsman had been working on. Hopefully after he was done, Zoarial would let him borrow he game. "You may continue my humble servant," Matt said.
"Yes, I've read about the reason Captain Dixon left the Raven," Matt said glad that he had read up on most of the ship's missions. He would never know as much as Zoarial, but he knew enough to get by.
"If you have any more questions, I'd be happy to answer them." Zoarial offered. "At the moment I'm the longest serving member aboard the Raven and I've had the longest personal experience with this vessel and it's history. I don't have to rely on reports like you do."
"Yes, I know that too," Matt said smiling," which for some reason troubles me. You could easily plan a Coup de tat." Zoarial only laughed at Matt's comment, but strangely enough he didn't say he wouldn't try.
Matt hoped that the Klingon helmsman knew he was joking, but you could never be sure with them. Matt knew that first hand. Now that he was done with the bridge, he headed towards engineering where he would speak to the chief engineer.
"Commander McLean right?" Matt asked when he saw the engineer.

Isis was traveling at full warp in her new personal shuttle. The computer said that she would be next to the Raven in five minutes. She smiled to herself. She pushed a button and cloaked the shuttle.

A small light associated with a new cloak-seeker program flashed on and off next to the main sensor control panel.

Steve followed Arya into the Ready Room.
"I'm sorry, but I couldn't have said what I needed to on the bridge. I think we are being watched, and I don't like it. Do you think someone higher up suspects one of the crew for the admiral's disappearance?"
Steve rasied an eyebrow. "Watched?" He replied, in surprise. He didnt say anything else, but he walked over to his replicator and ordered a hot cup of tea, which he picked up and very nearly dropped it on the floor as he somehow managed to spill a bit on his hands.
"Would you like something?" He asked Arya, trying to hide his embarrassment...and pain.
With her response, Steve went and leant on the edge of his desk. "What would anyone gain by watching us though? And more importantly, why would anyone of this crew have anything to do with the Admiral's disappearance?" Steve took a few sips of his drink and paused for a few moments.
He then realised he hadn't asked the question that could give him a little insight. "What makes you think that we are being watched? That is the last thing I, or any of us need."

"No, I am good," Arya said and sat down in one of the chairs as he leaned on his desk.
"At this point, I don't know. I haven't researched this, but I feel we can't leave any possiblity out. Maybe we have a spy on board," she said wondering why she thought that. ~Man he asks some pretty good questions, too bad I don't have any good answers.~
"Woman's intuition. Counsellor's intution. The fact that nothing adds up right now like it should. What if that is what has happened? We can't leave anything out, can we? Does the admiral have any enemies? Maybe one of them are involved, and they bribed a crewmember into kidnaping the admiral. Its a long shot, but its better than not having a clue. Maybe one of the admiral's enemies managed to build some kind of machine that makes temporal or dimensional rifts, and then they kidnaped him when no one was looking," Arya said not sure what else might have happened, and not being able to come up with much else.
Arya had been thinking about this, and probably too much. She found she hadn't much else to do on this mission, and wondered what he would say about that.
"I've just been thinking about what might have happened. Since no one needs my assistance right now that I can see because they are on duty, I haven't been able to preoccupy myself with anything but this. I know I need to take a trip down to sickbay, but other than that I don't know of what to do. There is only one person I can help, and that person is on duty. If I missed anything then please let me know," she said and waited for him to say something.
With his answer she got up. "Alright, well the first thing I am going to do is talk to the doctor."
Arya waited and left when she was dismissed, and then headed for the turbolift. It was a quiet ride, and she was very happy no one else was there. Arya thought she felt the deck spinning.
Arya walked into sickbay and decided she needed to sit down, and walked over to a biobed to do so. A nurse came over.
"What's wrong?" The male nurse said, and she closed her eyes.
"The deck keeps spinning all around me," she said.
"Alright, I will get the doctor," he said and walked away. He went to the doctor's office.
"Doctor BeTor, a lady just walked in and sat down on a biobed. Her eyes are closed and she claims the deck is spinning around her when her eyes are open. Could you please come?"

"You couldn't have picked a better time Commander," McLean said letting his attention go from his work, "Engineering is running in tip top shape right now." McLean finished as he motioned for Commander Reynolds to follow him.
Walking slowly McLean pointed out the finer aspects of Main Engineering to the First Officer, hoping he could see that everything was getting done at the highest level of quality.
The tour of Engineering didn't take as long as McLean had thought it was going to take, "So Commander, what do you think?"

Carl had been keeping a wary eye on performance read-outs from various departments. Everyone seemed to be doing their jobs well, and mechanically, the ship couldn't have been in better shape. Though that was only to be expected after a stay in Space Dock.
He had tried not to eavesdrop on the conversation earlier between the Executive Officer and Zoarial. Even though, on first impressions, it seemed to be bordering on insubordination. But even as Reynolds came out with the 'humble servant' comment, Torek decided they were indulging in friendly banter, or at least he hoped so..
Besides, The Exec' couldn't have failed to notice that even as the Navigation Officer was keeping a keen eye on their course, he was also playing some sort of game on the PADD he was holding, Torek hadn't !
For now. He decided, it was up to the Executive Officer to comment on this and not himself. It certainly didn't seem proper Bridge etiquette, but he was new to the Raven-A and would have to see how the Captain and Exec' ran things before commenting or passing judgment.
Checking the ship's chronometer, he decided he would run a few things through the currently vacant Science Station before his duty shift ended ..........

"So Commander, what do you think?" "Well Commander, I am no engineer, but even I am impressed," Matt said as he gave engineering one more look over. He like everyone else had basic knowledge of the inner workings of an engine room and from what he could tell everything was running at tip top shape, just like the Commander said it was doing. "Keep up the good work and please remember to send me your daily report by 2000 hours." Matt made an about safe and slowly walked out engineering. It was his first stroll around the ship and he found the Raven to be in pretty good shape. He had been surprised to find Zoarial playing a card game on the bridge, but he realized that without some entertainment the helms officer might go crazy from boredom. Trying to maneuver a starship from danger and just sitting there were two very different things. Matt would make sure to talk to Zoarial about concealing his game playing a bit better, but he would not tell him to stop. He had to keep in mind the morale of his officers and if playing a card game kept him alert then so be it. His thoughts then moved to the operations officer, who was still fresh from the boat, sort of speak. He was highly recommended and his record spoke volumes, but Matt was still worried about his lack of experience. Then again they all started that way, so it wasn't a big concern just yet. Carl will have to learn to trust his gut if he wants to proceed on his career path. Matt himself found himself many times doing things that his instructors had never mentioned, but his gut told him to do it that way and it had never let him down. Though based on his current performance and attitude, Matt would be sure to recommend graduation for the acting ensign. As Matt entered the turbolift, his thoughts once again shifted to the science department. Before he had left the bridge, it had been reported that an Ensign Isis had just been transferred to the Raven. Matt decided that he would give the ensign a couple of days to adjust and then inspect him. The lift stopped at it's destination and Matt walked out. The first person that he noticed was Commander Majeski. The man had made a very remember able first impression, but other than that not much else. His department was working at top levels, but Matt would wish that he would be more involved in conversation with the bridge crew. As he took his seat once again, he remembered that he hadn't inspected E'Liana and Arya. He realized that there was no real reason to do this, since he already knew that they were doing magnificent jobs. As Matt sat there he couldn't help, but think of the set of events that brought him there. He clearly remembered his first academy mission on the Hanson, an Intrepid class ship just like the Raven. He fondly remembered his instructor Joan McCormick. The first officer, S'reena Hope and her children. The captain who proved to be one of the most courageous people he had ever known. He also remembered most fondly of the cadets that he had served with. He had made sure to check up on all of them and he wasn't surprised to find out that all of those that had graduated with him were already commanders and that Kedzie was a high ranking civilian. He also remembered his first day on the Jefferson, the ship that he loved dearly. His love for the ship and her crew almost made him say no to the offer of acting first officer. Though now he was extremely happy that he did because the Raven had a great pool of officers and crewman. Though of course none of this really meant anything because the thing that changed his life forever was meeting the Oceanus people and Caleb in Loskene's Cloud. The kid had been so smart, smarter than any eight year old that he had ever meant. It was partially because of him that he discovered how to rescue over two thousand of his people. With Caleb's adoption everything changed for Matt and the way he lived. He no longer could only think about himself, he had to think about what was best for Caleb. With this in mind, Matt become more mature and responsible. Though he has still been known to explode a couple of time, which almost cost him his life. That was months ago, but he was still feeling the residual effects of his injury, which has also caused him to despise Reman and distrust Romulans. His life spiraled out control after that, and it was only because of Caleb and his friends that he survived. All these thoughts swirled around in Matt's head, it had kept him preoccupied, but it had also made the time pass. There were some bad memories, but there were also great memories too. As he rose from his seat he could only think that he would make great memories to here on the Raven. "Mr. Torek, your shift ends in about an hour, correct?" Matt asked. "Yes sir," Carl responded. "Well until then you have the bridge," Matt said which surprised the young ensign," and please make sure not to destroy us." OOC: Just felt like writing, lol

Steve stood listening as Arya began to reveal her little theories as to who may have kidnapped the Admiral.
"As far as I know, he didnt have any enemies." He scratched his head in thought. "But like you say, anything that we can get to go on is a start." He finished his drink and put the cup down.
"We will soon be arriving at our destination, and we will go into this search with all guns blazing, so to speak. Anything that can be done, no matter how little consequence, WILL be done in order to find him." He added, with a look of concern.
Steve walked up to Arya and put his arms around her. "Try not to dwell on it too much. I need you in the right frame of mind through this, so if it starts to get to you, then step away for a bit." He kissed her and moved back to his desk.
"Well, if I missed anything then please let me know,"
"No, I don't think you have." He replied. "For now there isn't much that we can do until we arrive."
"Alright, well the first thing I am going to do is talk to the doctor."
"Ok, well I am just going to poke my head out onto the bridge and see how things are. I'll catch up with you later." Steve smiled and waited for Arya to leave. He checked over a couple of PADDS, and then headed out of the Ready Room onto the Bridge.
The door to the Bridge opened, and Steve poked his head through, trying not to catch anyone's attention. He noticed that Acting Ensign Torek had control of the Bridge, and he seemed happy there, so Steve tried to slip to the back of the bridge without being noticed. It almost worked, but for a science officer looking straight at him.
"Sir, is everything ok....you look lost." The officer asked him.
'Damn, that was so close as well.' He thought. "Yes, everything is fine, thank you." Steve replied and patted the young mans shoulders.
With all the rest of the Bridge crew now aware of his presence, Steve resigned himself to the fact that he was now going to have the bridge turned over to him.....'Not this time.' He thought. He walked up to his old XO chair and took a seat, much to the surprise of the Acting Ensign.
"So, Ensign, how does it feel to be in command of the Raven right now?"

"Mr Torek. Your shift ends in about an hour .. is that correct ?" asked the Exec'
"Yes Sir."
"Well until then, you have the bridge." Matt said as he moved toward the turbo lift, "Oh, and please try not to destroy us."
"Aye Sir." Carl said with a wry grin, "I have the bridge."
Moments after the Executive Officer had walked away, Carl was deciding what to do first .. There was no need to check heading and ship's status because he'd done that just moments before. Thinking he would start a check on the issue he needed clearing up he was deep in thought as he noticed someone talk to the Captain .. 'Ahh well' thought Torek, 'that's my bridge duty over' .. but to his surprise, the Captain sat beside him.
"So Ensign. How does it feel to be in command of the Raven right now ?" The Captain asked him.
"Well Sir .. It's going just fine .. There's a couple of thing's I need to be looking into but they can wa ......" Carl was about to explain, but was interrupted by Steven's comm badge being activated ....
Commander Eowyn was talking to him ...
=^=Captain .. I need you in sickbay =^= she said.
I'm sorry Carl, We will have to cut our chat short, we will continue this later."
Tapping his comm badge, Smith replied ...
=^= On my way Arya =^=
"Carry on Ensign." The Captain said as he got up and headed for one of the lifts...
A moment later, Torek once again had the bridge ...
He continued to follow up on his inquiries .. Something had been worrying him about the way the Raven's Photon Torpedo's had been late in getting to the ship .. Twenty torpedo's didn't just, 'turn up'.
He used the Science Station to make a direct connection between the Raven computer and it's counterpart on Starbase Bellicose ...
Carl started to go through the manifests of weapons movement, not a small task he saw .. He narrowed the search to Photon torpedo's only. Several ship's had required torpedo's, either replacements for used weaponry or upgrades for ones they were currently carrying.
'Ahh' thought Carl, 'found you' .... Twenty torpedo's had been temporarily placed in a storage area off the dock, they were there, unguarded, for approximately six hours. But something else caught Torek's eye ....The shipment of torpedo's that arrived on the Raven was almost seventy kilograms heavier than when it originally left the supply depot !
Either something was added to the shipment ... Or ... Someone else came aboard with the torpedo's.
Carl checked the time, his shift was about over, but he couldn't let this wait. He needed to speak to somebody, but who ! .... Someone had clearly logged the shipment onto the Raven, that same someone must have seen the discrepancy in the weight figures on the manifest ...
He decided he would let Matt have a look at what he'd found ... The only problem he could see was time ... If indeed somebody had got onto the Raven, how soon would it be before they decide it was safe to leave the cargo area ... And what for ! ..........

Matt knew that Caleb was still in school, so there was no reason to head towards his quarters. So Matt did something that he liked to do and that was to tour the ship. He already knew the specs of the Raven, but he loved the old fashion way of knowing a place.
As Matt walked around the ship, he noticed that people became stiff when they saw him coming there way. He hoped that would end soon enough. He respected the need for formalities, but he also knew that they could get very tedious and unwarranted.
As Matt's tour wore on, he was contacted by the operations officer.
=^=Commander Reynolds, could you please report to Cargo Bay 2=^=
=^=Is there anything wrong, Ensign?=^=
=^=Sir, I would prefer to explain it to you personally=^=
=^=Understood, see you in a few minutes, Reynolds out=^=
Matt was curious about the information that the operations officer had for him. He also wondered what he couldn't say over the comm. It was very confusing, but he understood that somethings were best kept quiet.
As Matt approached the cargo bay he saw that the doors were open, which was confusing. He couldn't see anything blocking the doors from closing. As he got closer he got the distinct feeling that he was feeling watched. It wasn't a good feeling.
"Computer what is in Cargo Bay 2?" Matt asked.
"Photon torpedoes."
"Torpedoes," Matt whispered to himself. He remembered that Mr. Torek had told him something about the torpedoes. Matt made his way into the cargo bay, and saw someone messing with one of the torpedo shipments.
"What are you doing?" Matt asked but nothing else was heard because he was attacked by someone behind him and everything went dark.

Torek arrived at Cargo bay two ... The doors were closed and there was no sign of his Exec'. Carl knew full well that he couldn't have got here before the Commander, so he was already here.
"Computer ... Location of Commander Reynolds ?"
"Commander Reynolds is currently in Cargo bay Two."
Carl looked at the doors, deep in thought, he could obviously contact his XO via the comms, but that could give away any advantage he may have .. There was no-one else in this area so he came to a decision.
"Computer ... Reduce lighting in this sector to zero for thirty seconds, open the cargo bay doors after ten seconds."
The computer complied with the order and Carl was in total darkness. He heard the doors open and edged into the cargo bay. Hugging the wall, he moved behind several crates then spoke ..
"Is anyone here ... Commander ?"
A moment passed with no reply .. No guarantee that he was alone of course, but he felt he had no choice ..
"Computer ... Lights."
He, at least, was ready for the illumination and saw the commander instantly .. He was on the floor. close to several torpedo's. He had also been hurt. Carl ran over to him, not worrying if someone was hidden that could fire on the two of them.
Matt was bleeding from a head wound, judging by the amount of blood, it was a deep wound .. Torek reacted instantly ...
"Medical Emergency Cargo bay two .. Security to Cargo bay two .. All decks, Intruder Alert !!!" ..........
