Would it be worth trying to draw up a list of specs based on what we've discussed so far on all these threads? It's easy to keep discussing and arguing endlessly, but it'd be good to have a clear record of what conclusions we've reached. Anyone here feel like trawling through the threads and knocking up a summary? Remember, we'll notice if you fudge anything

I'll give it a go later this evening...shouldn't be too hard.

Cheers, Steve. Should help give us an idea of where to steer the discussions next

Yeah, I agree...I kinda think things have digressed a little and people have forgotten what we agreed on.

Ok, so here is what we have so far:
Length: 1284 meters Width: 958 meters Height: 276 meters
Seeing as nothing else was posted in regards to an agreement of changing this, I am posting these dimensions up assuming they are still what we are going to use.
Of the poll vote that was taken to determine the name of the class that the ship will be, there were only 34 votes...but it appeared that Zenith was a clear winner for the class name! There wasn't a final decision on whether the ship name would carry the same name as the class.
The ship will be a very powerful ship, yet still geared towards exploration.
There has been no decision yet about the design of the new ship. There are a few different designs floating about, but as it stands, we haven't agreed on anything yet.
As for facilities, not much has been agreed on, again. Once more, a lot of ideas were discussed, but as nothing was actually consented to, there isn't much to go on. The only thing I can see that was agreed on was having a CO and FO office/room just off the bridge, like the Ready Room is. Also, having an officer lounge located just off the bridge as well, for the relief crew to use when they are waiting, for example. There will also be a two-storey Sickbay.
I think is was generally agreed that the ship would only have a cloaking device IF we came up with a good feasible reason as to why we would have it. There was no real discussion as to what phaser mark we would use, or how many strips/arrays, etc...and no definite agreement on what type/s of torpedoes the ship would carry, although Photon and Quantum are a likely bet.
The ship WILL separate, and will not have landing capability. It will also utilise certain technology from VOY 'Endgame'...ie, the ablative armour.
The motto for the ship hasnt been decided on either...we just need to narrow down the many choices we have and actually put it in place.
The ship will have impulse, warp AND Quantum Slipstream drives. (The QSD will be a "Dauntless-class Mark IIa Quantum Slipstream Drive")
So far....not a lot has actually been finalised. There are probably a few more points raised here and there, but nothing major, and nothing else decided on. Now I for one want to change that and get this project moving again.

Sounds good to me Steve, and thanks for doing that for me.
Now that we've highlighted some of the weaknesses or gaps in our discussion, I'd like to move onto firming up our plans too. My suggestion for now is this - we set up some definite polls on the undecided factors that Steve has outlined above. We can still have some discussion and debate about them in order to flesh out which is best if necessary, but a date should be decided to have votes submitted on certain aspects.
We should then start new topics of conversation about the remaining technical and logistical factors. I think the exact dimensions of the ship will obviously have to wait until we have a design, then we can work out the scale of that design. There are clearly other things to do with internal facilities and engineering systems that we haven't touched on yet. Even though I'm hugely busy just now (thesis due in 10 days!!), I can try to start up some new topics over the next few days to get things rolling again. Any help from elsewhere would be greatly appreciated

Also, I think a roll call is in order. The decisions on what will be in this project will be made by the members of the Flagship Project only....and then it will be passed on to CSS to decide.
So, could all remaining members who still wish to contribute please report in.
Thanks......and this serves as my reporting in too.

I've set up a thread for this purpose, just to keep things neat and on topic.
