They just want to get drunk and stare up at the streaking stars, lol ;D
Nice to see that some of my ideas have been well received though

Bridge. What is the bridge layout?
Similar ideas to Sovereign but more stations and only CO and XO seats in the middle?

I think the bridge is something specific that we'll get down to at a later time. Feel free to throw in any ideas now though.

No, put the distinguished persons seat there too. center the captian. Elevate the captain on a platform- look at TOS of ideas- steps, not ramps. Captain at the top in the center of a pit, outside stations the same level, but a rail. distinctly seprate. Helm in center, two stations like on TNG.
Mtallic look with low colors.

My idea about the bridge would be more along the lines of the Voyager ... with the helm in the front middle CO and XO behind ... stations around the edges. I do not think that there should be a pit ... the helm should have a much of, if not more a view of the view screen as any other seat.
One idea that I had is that the helm would be forward of the main circle of the bridge with the view screen surrounding him/her ... kinda like if the helmsman was sitting in an imax type theater.

I think perhaps we should use the three-dimensional-type viewscreen that was developed in DS9-but not seen much there, since many of the ships at the time were not compatable with it, but quite some time has passed since then, so it might be more common.

Was that a viewscreen? I thought that was just a holographic projector for conversations only.
Also, 3D viewscreens would be murder for the pilot to try to work with.

Well, I guess it was for conversations, but it's a ship to ship communication, I don't think it would actually work well with a pilot, I guess...Sorry, I mispoke a little.

If anyone ever draws plans of this, don't forget the toilets.
They didn't include those on the Constitution and Galaxy plans (originally at least) and were ridiculed for it ('The new Enterprise equipped with... two toilets'). I've seen plans of a Sovereign top deck which has them (naval term for them is 'head').

The galaxy had heads- look at the TNG techincal manual. there was one directly across from the confrence room door, and one ajoining the captain's ready room.
I say that the units on this ship should be chrome with gold colored trim around the outside edge of the bowl.

That's the point, only two were shown. Imagine the queue around the bridge. Or the abuse of replicators... I always imagined they just flushed the waste into the matter chamber for the warp core. Matter is matter after all.
Maybe white enamel. It might be more expensive, but could you imagine trying to look at chrome first thing in the morning? Keep the gold trim though. Maybe a gold plated flush and a Federation symbol on the cover?

No, I would imagine that they would keep the individual ship emblems- like the enterprise patches, or the Excelsior logo on sulu's cup., Granted, Sulu's cup is simple, but mission patches are a grand tradition, and I like to imagine that they just arn't worn as rank insignia anymore. Instead, they are just used as an orniment- decor and the like.
Put that on the top of the toilet.
I could design one if we get a few images of the ship...

Hmmm... I was thinking that maybe we could make an oficer only area behind the bridge a single halway perhaps with the captains RR, 1st off. RR, 2nd Off. ready room and a mini engineering and science room(Like a mini stellar cartography perhaps). perhaps with an officers lounge at the end of the hall. then do something no starship has done before...put the observational lounge (where official meetings take place) directly in front of the bridge just behind the viewscreen. If you like this Idea I can work on a sketch and plan the bridge layout

Looks perfectly fine to me, though it's the type of bridge I would expect on a smaller starship. As a CO, I personally prefer the CO's ready room the way it was laid out on the Galaxy, Sovereign and Intrepid classes, but it's a good starting point and it's not my ship, lol.
The SO's office is still only marginally bigger than a turbolift though

I wonder if we shouldn't use area around the bridge instead of the area ... behind it. Keep the observation deck at the front, then the view screen ... then based on the last illustration. Have the hallway at the back leading to the officer's lounge with the Sec/Tact office on one side of the hallway and the second officer's office/ready room on the other side. Then have the captain's ready room and the first officer's ready room on opposing sides of the bridge. Kinda like ... I believe the galaxy was set up that way.
I also liked the galaxy's bridge set up ... having very defined levels like in TOS seems ... kinda out of sync. I mean, the captain is not a god so putting him up on a pedestal does not sync with modern starfleet. Having stations placed randomly around the captain makes no sense ... there should be some order to it. It seems logical that the two most important stations in regular operation, Navigations and Operations, should be situated in front of the captain to facilitate his control over the ship with increased ease. In voyager the captain seemed to have to be out of her seat to encompass both OPS and Navigations ... that doesn't seem like such a great idea.
