hey guys ... you see that long tub like thing on the top view .... i had thought, during my design, that would be a long fighter/shuttle bay ... large enough to hold losts of shuttles and fighters. Also ... if you look right behind the buzzard scoops you will see the deflector dish ... that is if your talking about my drawing ...

that makes sense....but interesting deflecto position- okable, but waht if you have to eject a naccele? then you don't have the deflector whne you need it.
Perhaps a backup on the top of the dish?

Oh- I think I get it. Still, we should have a backup. I always wondered what the -E did without a deflector in FC, presumably it had a backup somewhere. We need a backup system all the same.

Roddenberry's rules of design state that engines must come in twos. The more engineeringly minded Trek fans seem to disregard the Galaxy 2 as a fantasy ship of Q's, backed up by the presence of the Olympus class which is identical to the outdated Daedalus class. It's not the number of nacelles that counts but the engine which powers them.

Hey don't forget, the premethus class had 4, so 2 doesn't really come into it anymore, and may i say the Excalibur class is an edited sovrein class

What Reman was referring to was the fact that the nacelles come in multiples of 2...be it 2, 4, etc.

Whilst Smith is correct that the Galaxy-2 is not meant to exist, it is sort of valid as a design since Galaxy nacelles held two warp coils per nacelle instead of one. Thus a Galaxy nacelle can be counted as two if you really wanted to, but only at a stretch.

still looks like the akira to me. but i do think the angled down nacelle look might be good, maybe 45 deg from horizon, then another 45 deg angle to point down. but what do i know, im just a cadet.
