Kirk had been teleported to the USS Vesuvius and this time it seemed to be a warmer welcome. A single security officer, who was armed only with what appeared to be a phase pistol, escorted the Captain from the teleportation room to the bridge. In addition to the apparent ease in security the single security officer didn’t bother to disarm the Challenger’s Captain this time, as Kirk was still caring a phase pistol holstered tightly on his right thigh for easy access.
“Commodore Reckus is waiting for you inside.” The security officer said as he stood outside of the conference room.
Stepping inside he was first greeted warmly by a tired Commodore and secondly by the familiar face of the USS Raven’s Executive officer. News had traveled fast as Kirk had heard about the unfortunate wounding of the Raven’s Commanding Officer, Admiral Mc 7 of 9. This made the Commodore the ranking officer, and the commanding officer of the assembled fleet.
After a brief explanation of how the replicator work Andy ordered up a hot coffee, something to give him the kick he so desperately needed form the long, exhausting fighting they had just gone through.
“Captain, do you have any idea of the number of casualties you suffered during the fight?”
“Not yet.” Andy was causal with his response, probably more casual than the Commodore wanted, but it was what he was accustomed to, “I’ve got Commander Logan working on a casualty report as we speak.”
“I will expect it as soon as it is done.”
“Of course.” Andy replied before taking a sip of his coffee.
Standing at the window with the coffee cup in hand he looked on the massive ship. It looked nothing like he had ever seen before, as a matter of fact, both the Raven and the Vesuvius look nothing like anything he had ever seen in his life. Strangely, he could tell just by their shapes that they looked friendly, almost reminded him of home, whereas these alien ships looked as foreign as Mars was to Earth.
Just as Kirk was going for his second round of coffee the door to the conference room opened and before them stood an alien being that looked very humanoid, yet he looked nothing like the aliens races he had come across. His eyes were large, and more than anything else he looked scared of something, not of them, but of something bigger.
Commodore Reckus and the alien exchanged a brief, albeit, confusing conversation. Andy hadn’t brought along his universal translator, it was left behind on the rubble that was his ship, and it seemed that both the Commodore and Commander were as able to understand the words coming out of the alien’s lips.

Carl dutifully followed the directions to Sonaks ready room. as he neared the door, a Security Officer stood aside, opening the door as he did so.
"The Commodore is waiting for you .... Captain."
"Thank you." Carl replied, not failing to notice the woman look at his rank insignia, which still portrayed him as Commander First Class.
"Captain .. It is good to see you." Sonak said, "Help yourself to refreshments, I am sure Captain Kirk will not delay us much longer." ..... Carl did so, remembering the Security Officers' look, but somehow unwilling at the moment to replicate the fourth gold pip signifying his new rank. Knowing too, that Sonak would force it on him at some point ... Ten minutes later, Kirk, along with the Alien Commander had arrived. Torek stood to one side, watching the Commodore begin tentative negotiations for peace, or at least a cease-fire .. But Joq'Tel was fascinated by the ship outside ..
"This is also your ship ?" he asked, gazing in awe at the Galaxy Class vessel.
"No ..." Sonak said, "That ship is Captain Torek's."
"It ... Is ... Impressive." the alien said.
Carl could see that Captain Kirk was puzzled by the conversation, and suddenly realized that 'he' could not understand the Vackall ...
"Excuse me Commodore." Torek said, "Computer .. Re-initialize Captain Kirk's Comm badge for universal translation."
"Initialization complete." the ship said.
"K'rune je'tkal kro ... blems understanding me ?"
"Your communicator pin should now be translating correctly Captain." Torek said helpfully.
" ..... It is now." Kirk said, "Thank you Captain."
Sonak nodded ..
"Shall we discuss terms that are to our mutual advantage then ?" she asked, taking a seat at the long table, motioning for the others to follow suit ..........

*As Traks continued to study the battle he noticed that all the fighting seemed to stop.*
Tora: Sir the Vesuvius has ordered a cease fire, the attacking ships have surrendered. We are ordered to return to the Raven after dropping Major Larok off on the Vesuvius.
Traks: Mr Larok you heard the order take us to your ship.
*The Ohio came within beaming distance of the Vesuvius. Larok stood from the helm and made way for Traks to take the helm.*
Larok: Sir permission to leave the ship.
Traks: Granted.
Larok: Larok to Vesuvius, one to beam over.
*Larok disappeared from the Ohio and Traks set course for the Raven.*

Joq’Tel’s mind was racing, as he couldn’t fathom how these beings were real. For an instant he felt as if he was dreaming, or possibly dead. These life forms could be angelic figure setting him on his course to the underworld, but Joq’Tel’s analytical mind won over his fears and he had to deal with the situation he found himself in.
"Shall we discuss terms that are to our mutual advantage then?" The female asked.
“Yes, but I would like to speak to the Vackall you said you captured and are holding in your hospital.”
He had hoped to try and make sense of this situation with a fellow Vackall, especially one that was better versed at Vackall religion than he. While they waited for the arrival of the mysterious Vackall Joq’Tel thought it would be best to press on with the negotiations.
“Tell me about this ‘Milky Way’ you speak of. We know only the systems in which our people occupy and there are a great many of us spread all over this section of space.” He was stalling in hopes that perhaps his crew would jump to light speed and escape from these strange alien beings.

The meeting with Joq'Tel had been running for over an hour. Commodore Reckus had seemingly, been 'openly' sharing information on the Milky Way galaxy, without actually giving the man anything his own long-range research vessels couldn't have found out ..
A Lieutenant entered the room and, nodding to the Commodore, spoke.
"Commodore. I have a communication from the Raven for Captain Torek." Sonak nodded, but the young woman hesitated before continuing, "It's of a private nature Ma'am ......"
"If you will excuse me." Carl said, then got up from his chair and moved to the corridor, followed by the Lieutenant, "Well ?" he asked once outside.
"Sir .. I wasn't sure you wanted this information given in there. Your Operations Officer reports that Colonel Traks' shuttle has been recovered. Also, seventy percent of the bulkheads have been replaced. Ravens' status is Green ......"
Carl was confused, this information could, no, should have been given to him in the ready room, showing the Vackall they were ready for anything that could be thrown at them here ... He was about to state this when the Lieutenant beat him to it ..
"...... There's something else Captain .... Raven's sensors have picked up approximately forty more vessels, they are on the outer limit of your scans, but don't look like the ships you, we, have just engaged."
"Have we been detected ?"
"We're not sure Sir, but Commander Jamison is monitoring their course. He thinks at present it's possible they can't see us."
Carl looked at the ready room door, thinking hard. Could the newcomers be friends of the Vackall, or enemies. If they were allies, surely Joq'Tel was merely stalling, giving his forces time to re-group.. But what if they weren't !
"OK ... Don't inform the Commodore of this ......" Carl held up a hand to silence the young woman who was about to argue, " ...... I will get the information to her myself .. Is that understood ?"
"Yes Captain."
"Contact Raven. Tell Commander Jamison to keep a close eye on our new visitors ... If they make the slightest course alteration I want to know it .. and FAST !"
The woman nodded and Torek returned to the meeting.
"Everything is satisfactory Captain ?" Sonak said.
Carl could see Joc'Tel and Kirk watching him closely ..
"Yes Commodore .. No problems, I was simply being informed re my ships' status."
Sonak watched Carl as he replied ... If she were Human, she would have prided herself in knowing someone had 'more' to say than what they were voicing. But as a Vulcan, she let no change in her demeanor show, knowing full well that Torek had more information ...
"We can go over our Solar systems' astronomical features now if you wish. But possibly a break in the proceedings would be fitting." she said, "Would you like some refreshment Commander ?" she asked the Vackall ..........

*After going over the required matainance needs for the Ohio Traks proceeded to the Bridge. Upon entering he noticed Commander Jamison sitting in the center seat. Jamison looked up and nodded to Traks as he entered the bridge. As the Commander did not stand and defer to Traks, the Colonel moved to science station 2 and began to review what had happened on the Raven since his departure. Noting the injury of the Admiral and his present status drew the first signs of depression he had felt in a long time. As the long range sensors came back on line Traks took note of the new threat and started to form plans to deal with them.*
CSO: Commander we are picking up a new fleet sitting at the edge of our sensors.
Jamison: Transfer the readings to my screen; this could be fun.
*Jamison composed an update and sent it off to the Vesuvius, instructing that it be hand delivered to the Capitan.*
Traks: Traks to Sharad; Lt get everyone we can spare and get as many shuttles prepped for combat as we can. Give the repairs to the Ohio a priority, also have Solark give all our armor a check out we have more company and I want to be able to repel borders if necessary.
*Traks sent a text report to Jamison of his mission and his orders for the prep of the fighters; then left the Bridge to visit and check on the Admiral. Entering the sick bay Traks took up a medical tricorder and began to examine the Admiral.*
Nurse 1: Sir I do not think the Doctor would like a Marine practicing medicine here.
Traks: Young lady I was a MD and treating patients when you were in diapers. Sorry if I wanted to make sure everything had been done for the Admiral that could have been I have had a little more experience with Borg systems than most human doctors. I wish there was more that could be done for him but without new nano probes I do not see much hope of his recovering here in the past something damaged them probably the same thing that brought us here.
*Traks left the sick bay to see if he might find something in his notes and the reports of the Voyagers Doctor on Borg nano probes.*

The best way to show Joq'tel where they'd come from was from Astrometrics, but Sonak wasn't sure that was their best option right now. She could tell Torek was hiding something from her, but she also knew better than to ask. Better let him settle in his new role as commanding officer for now, he'd learn soon enough and quite likely the hard way too.
As she waited for the alien commander to answer her question, she regarded the oldtime captain closely, wondering what he must be thinking. Here he was, in his own time yet still displaced, stuck on a vessel that claimed to be from his future, and had proven to be such as well. He was trusted, yet not completely so. She couldn't begin to understand how he must feel, yet in some twisted way she also could. He probably didn't trust her either.
"You wished to see your crewmember," she reminded the alien, not quite sure what their prisoner was to him to begin with. They had tractored in a solitary vessel with an injured crewmember and she hadn't been able to quesion him yet. Though she was still wearing her teals, she hadn't been in sickbay for hours. She did presume that Challenger's medic was taking care of him.
"Gentlemen if you would please come with me?" Sonak rose from her seat and exited the readyroom, only to be met by Thorad. "Lieutenant?" she queried, looking up at the tall Andorian.
"The Ohio has returned to Raven ma'am, Major Larok should report to sickbay any minute now. He'll likely meet you there." He eyed the alien and gave his CO a meaningful glance.
Sonak understood, Larok felt his place was at her side, her protection his main goal, however much of a nuicance she thought that to be. The small party stepped into the turbolift, accompanied by the two security men. "Sickbay."
In sickbay, Saryn was examining the alien that was brought in, but he wasn't able to discover much without the access he needed and he felt he lacked the knowledge to use this sickbay to the best of its potential. Instead, he did what he could to stabilise his patient.
The Vulcan looked up when the small party walked in, snapped the tricorder he'd learned to use shut and walked up to them. "He is stable for now, and conscious," he reported, "at least I assume the patient is of the male gender, I cannot be certain." He glanced at his captain, giving him a quick examination to see if he was unharmed. "Captain, are you unharmed?" he then asked, "were you treated well?"
Saryn didn't trust these people, even though he was finally allowed to do what he was trained to do. He resented how he was being treated, especially with the counselor from the largest ship hovering about him almost constantly. "Mr Biers, please keep your distance," he snapped back.
Sonak observed for a few seconds, then motioned the alien commander forward. "You should be able to speak to him. Direct any questions at Doctor Saryn or Doctor Biers." She could tell the Vulcan was annoyed and she signaled Biers to join them. "Observations commander?" she questioned the counselor, "how is the patient doing and is our guest doctor settling in all right? It must have been quite a shock for him..."

*Larok walked into the sick bay to see the Challengers doctor trying to cope with 24th century medical devices and looking extremely frustrated for a Vulcan. Moving to a computer terminal he entered a few commands and almost smiled at the results. As he started to contact the Commodore she and her group walked into the sick bay.*
Larok: Commodore I think I have a solution to our doctors problems. As sick bay two is 100% holographic configurable for first contact environments. I can recreate the medical bay of the NX- 01 Enterprise which is a familiar environment for him. As holo technology was encountered by the Enterprise 3 years before the Challenger left space dock for the first time, so this is not a violation of the temporal prime directive.

"However, you are to cease fire, they have surrendered, they are now treated as such. No harm will come to them unless they attack first, understood?" A message of cease fire had been send over the com link discordia had kept with the main module. Not that they were able to do much anyway with they're left nacelle damaged. Fox looked around the bridge. In the fight several consoles had been damaged by energy surges as well. Fox tabbed his comm-badge. "Fox to engineering." he said "Engineering here Sir." came the reply. "Deploy repair teams to repair our nacelle and can one come up here? Some consoles are out." He looked at Duke was at another science station now than the one he used before. "Aye Sir, someone will be coming right away." was replied. "Engineering out." Fox looked at the main screen, seeing all the debris and some of the fighters of the armada adrift. {I do hope this cease fire will stand.} he thought {So far we've been very unlucky again.}

As if his confusion wasn't enough already, Saryn observed the older Vulcan talking about technology that was even further unknown to him. "Holotechnology?" he queried, putting the tricorder aside all the wile watching the Vulcan suspiciously, "first I am barred from any technology and now you wish to overwhelm me with it?"
He walked forward, examining the other alien. "Your crewmember is well enough to be questioned," he reported, "however I caution you, he may not react too well to your being here." He stood straight, raised up to his full height, thereby standing at least a full head taller than the alien. His features haughty and proud, but no less dangerous or caring.
As the alien walked to his kin, Saryn turned to face the other two Vulcans, who were accompanied by Kirk and another Human. "I have done all I can for him," he reported, readjusting his coat to hide the sword he had with him. "I do not need your medical bay to be reconfigured to my needs, I have all that I need, aside from the necessary access.
While Sonak and the other captains joined Joq'Tel, Saryn turned to face Larok. "I do not trust you," he said plainly, challenging the marine, "you have worked against me from the start, even though we are the same. You are a warrior, as am I." He paused briefly. "I would measure your strength against mine at any time we can," he continued his challenge, "your daggers against my sword."
At that announcement, Sonak turned. "Daggers, major?" she queried, "daggers are not standard Starfleet or Marine issue. Nor are swords."
"I am not Starfleet," Saryn returned calmly, 'nor am I a marine. I am not bound by your rules as such." He still faced the older Vulcan male, holding his gaze with his own, a dark glare coming from them. His control was near perfect, though his emotions sparkled in his eyes. He resented these future Vulcans and what they represented. Working with Andorians indeed! "Any time," he finished.
Sonak watched them briefly, knowing it'd come to blows soon enough. "Holodeck one, after your shift," she ordered, "get it settled gentlemen!"

*As Larok listened to Saryn's near rant, he weighed how much he could tell the Great Grand sire of his old commander.*
Saryn: you have worked against me from the start, even though we are the same. You are a warrior, as am I." He paused briefly. "I would measure your strength against mine at any time we can," he continued his challenge, "your daggers against my sword."
Larok: It would be illogical for me to engage you in Combat with daggers, as I do not have one. If you insist I will acquire one, but I prefer to use a Bat'Lth, or if you wish I could provide us with Lumpra's. If your ego must be mollified then so be it. As for working against you I have been endeavoring to limit the damage you can do. Yes I know you, your son and his son but You will never know me as my name of birth is not the same one I now use. That person died somewhere in the depths of the Delta Quadrant. Killed by your great grandson, who is the mirror image of you and to some extent your clone.
Sonak: "Holodeck one, after your shift," she ordered, "get it settled gentlemen!"
Larok: Aye Aye mam; I shall restrain from killing him. I shall bring my personal weapons and let you chose which one I use.
*Larok turned his back on the Challengers Doctor and stationed himself to the left of the entrance to the sick bay doors to watch his commanders back. Now the challenge is to satisfy the Doctors anger without dying or having to kill him. His death now would change history as he would live for another hundred or so years.*

Lt. Jake Marcus was sitting in a new kind of shuttle. One could not call it a runabout,However it was a new class of transport shuttle long Range with starship grade shields and weapons. Marcus sat in the pilots chair and took control. " Lt. Marcus to Space dock control. I am ready to head to the Raven's last know position." The comm screen flashed showing a young Lt.Commander in charge f the dock. " Permission to undock granted. Good luck locating the Raven. Star base 78 Out."
Marcus hit the command and moved the shuttle to the brink of space. As the ship left the star base Marcus tapped the control and sent the ship into high warp. the trip was going to be long so he figured he would get some sleep in what the shuttle called a cabin.
A few hours later Marcus was knocked out of the bunk when the shuttle craft was knocked hard to the port. The Red Alert siren started blaring. " Computer report." Marcus shouted above the alarm."There is a subspace instability at bearing 327 mark 68. Range 200 kilometers." The computer replied. Marcus was shocked that the sensors didn't detect it before they reached the system they were in. "Computer turn off that alarm." Marcus ordered. The computer shut off the Alarm as fast as Marcus gave the order entering the command center of the shuttle craft Marcus headed to the conn and sat down.
"Computer impulse engines full reverse." Marcus ordered hopping it would slow him down. the computer responded that the engines were at full reverse, yet it was not slowing them down. "Computer open a channel to the nearest starship." the computer paused for a moment. "No star fleet vessels are in range." Marcus saw he was heading deeper and deeper into the anomaly. "Computer put out a distress call on all channels and reroute power from all secondary systems to the impulse engines." The computer beeped " Command authorization required." Marcus now hoped the extra command training he had done when he was transfered from the Olympia paid off. "Command authorization Marcus two alpha four bravo." The computer announced. " Codes accepted. Rerouting power." Marcus saw it had no effect. ~Damn.~ He thought just as the ship passed thought the event horizon and he disappeared from know space.
Marcus was being thrown all over the deck of the little shuttle craft what seemed like forever passed and the ship stabilized in front of three ships. Two of the vessels he knew with out checking his sensors the USS Raven was just off his port side and the USS Vesuvius was just on his starboard side. The ship in the middle was the one Marcus had to do a double take over.~ A NX-Class starship!!!~ Marcus thought. Marcus was seeing some damage to the all three ship so he started running a scan on the ships. Marcus also opened a channel to the ship he was going to be assigned. "Lt.Marcus to USS Raven. Please respond."
<Tag Raven>
Marcus was looking at a lot of things. data from he scans was coming over his screens fast yet the sight of an NX-class ship still interested him since there is no recorded evidence of an NX-class ship surviving till his academy days. What he learned about them was from holo-recordings and old texts from the database.
Marcus was receiving a message back from one of the ships, but his comm system must have taken a some damage he wasn't receiving the message very well. "Please repeat your message i an having some trouble with my comm system."

The captain had gone over to see Commodore Reckus, leaving Will in charge. This was the first time Will had had the conn and he was a little nervous. But he had been trained for this and he wasn’t about to screw it up.
Just as Lt. Colonel Traks exited the turbolift, two things happened at the same time. Ensign Malik called from the Tactical/Security station, “Commander we are picking up a new fleet sitting at the edge of our sensors.” And Will considered relinquishing the conn for a brief moment but than decided against it. He figured if these newcomers decided to come in and start anything, the colonel would want to be down in the action with his Marines.
“Transfer the readings to my screen; this could be fun.” Will said.
Will than composed an update and sent it off to the Vesuvius, instructing that it be hand delivered to the Captain.
Next, he read that text from Lt. Colonel Traks whom had just reentered the turbolift and smiled to himself. Now that’s a fella who likes being prepared. Will thought.
He turned to his security officer, “Lt. Continue to monitor that fleet out there and send constant status reports to me.”
“Aye, sir.” came the response.
A short while later, the Ensign spoke again. “Sir. I’m detecting a Starfleet shuttle just off of our port side. It just appeared, sir”
“Sir. The shuttle is hailing us. It is voice only,” said the communications officer before Will could respond.
“Let’s hear it than.”
"Lt. Marcus to USS Raven. Please respond." came the static reply.
“Can you clear that up any?” Will asked.
“Negative, sir. That’s as clear as it gets.”
“Very well. This is Commander Will Jamison of the USS Raven. Lt. We’re not getting very clear communications from your shuttle. Do you require assistance?”
"Please repeat your message I am having some trouble with my comm system." was the garbled response.
“Jamison to Engineering. We have a shuttle off our port that just came through the anomaly and is having communications trouble. Let’s assume some other things aren’t working over there and get a tractor beam on it. Bring it into shuttle bay 3.”
“Security. I want a couple of people in that bay when the shuttle is brought in. Bring whoever is on it to the bridge.” Jamison out.
He sat down to let the crews do there jobs.

Carl had followed the Commodore from the ready-room, down to Sick-bay, so that the Alien could see, and maybe speak, to his comrade, but Torek needed to absence himself so he could check on the information he'd been given ..
"Commodore ......" he interrupted, watching the alien and Kirk turn to him, "...... If you will be taking the Commander to Astrometrics next, I would like to check on the condition of the Challenger, and make sure the 're-enforcements' to the Raven are on schedule."
Carl hoped Reckus understood his need to have the Raven's bulkheads back in place, so the ship was one hundred percent space-worthy ..
"As you wish Captain." Sonak said, "Please keep me apprised." she finished, making sure Torek was fully aware of her displeasure at not being informed of his actions.
Nodding to all present, Carl made his exit .. Once in the corridor he slapped his comm badge ..
=^= Torek to Raven .. Status =^=
=^= Commander Jamison here Sir .. The fleet we spotted has moved out of sensor range .. But from what we could get .. Their ships were of a different configuration to the ones we have just been fighting =^=
=^= Different .. Or a possible enemy of our visitor ...... =^= Carl asked, an idea forming.
=^= Unknown Captain =^=
Carl looked round for something to store the information on, then as luck would have it, then a way presented itself. An Engineer was approaching ..
"Lieutenant .. Is there anything on that PADD that needs saving ?" Torek asked the startled woman.
"Erm .. No Sir." she said, seeing the possibility of a weeks' worth of calculations vanishing before her eyes, "Just my stats for the promotion board."
"Save them !" Carl ordered, "Give me the PADD."
The stunned woman did as ordered, transferring the data to her quarters before handing the device to the Captain.
=^= Mister Jamison .. Send ALL the information on our newcomers to the PADD I am holding =^=
=^= Done captain =^= Jamison said.
=^= Extend our scans as far as possible .. I want to know at least thirty seconds before they do if they change course .. Torek out ! =^=
He checked the information sent to the PADD, then headed to Astrometrics. He'd simply hand the PADD to Reckus as a status report. She could then decide on a course of action as Ranking Officer ..........

Marcus was sitting at the console tapping controls trying to get a message to the Raven. Reaching for a tech kit a beam shot out to the shuttle and started moving it to the shuttle bay. Marcus saw he was heading to the Raven. ~Good my ship is pulling me in.~ Marcus thought.
Marcus was just tapping commands retrieving his gear from the hold and was just finishing as the shuttle touched down. he tapped the commands for the doors to open and there stood a group of security guards. "Hello." One or Two officers reached for there phasers." i am Lieutenant Jake Marcus." He handed a Padd to the officer in change. The officer in charge looked it over and held a hand up to have the guards holster there weapons. "Sorry sir precaution since we couldn't have gotten clear communications with you." Marcus nodded his head and understood." Yes i can see why with a set of ships just inside your sensor range." The office in charge nodded. "I have been ordered by Commander Jamison to bring you straight to the bridge." Marcus understood and followed the officer to the nearest turbolift.
The bridge took him to the bridge and Marcus stepped out and looked around. ~Nice bridge~ Marcus thought. Marcus headed to the command arena. "Lt. Jake Marcus reporting for duty sir."

McLean hated redundant work and getting the Challenger back inside the Raven for repairs was exactly that. This time, however, he wasn’t particularly upset about it. Mainly because it was his idea to use the generators to power the Challenger and get her into the fight before she was ready. This was just the consequence to his uncharacteristically irrational behavior in the heat of battle. He was sure sooner or later that Commander Torek would be heading down to Main Engineering to give him the friendly, yet stern conversation about how his actions were short sighted at best.
On the flip side the schematics he had obtained from the Challenger’s computer system were helping out much better than the schematics that were available on the Raven’s computer core. It seemed that not only was the Challenger different from the base design of the NX Class ships, but each engineer had done something to the main systems to work in what they believed to be more streamlined. This brought a smile to his face as he himself has streamlined several of the ships systems that would look foreign when compared to the base diagrams.
What had to happen now was the transfer of resources to a parts replicator in Main Engineering, and the transfer of enough anti-matter to get Challenger’s warp core back online. These all had to be approved by Commander Torek before anything else could happen.

After the captain signed off, Will turned to the Tactical station. “You heard him, Ensign. If there are any changes from our friends out there, alert the Captain and myself immediately.”
“Aye, sir.”
Just than, the turbolift doors parted and a security detail entered the bridge with whom Will assumed was Lt. Marcus. One of the security officers approached the conn and handed will a PADD as the Lt stepped forward.
"Lt. Jake Marcus reporting for duty sir."
Will nodded at the new arrival and began reading the PADD that held the orders that assigned Mr. Marcus to the Raven as the new COO.
“Welcome aboard, Lt.” Will said at last. “As you’ve probably figured out, we have a few things going on right now. No time for the grand tour right now. I’ll log you in as joining the ships crew. In the mean time, find a station and read the logs to catch up with what’s happening here. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.”
Will returned his attention to the security officers that had escorted the Lt to the bridge.
“Be sure to assign quarters to the Lt and get all of his gear sent there.”
“Aye, sir.” replied the officers as they turned and left the bridge.
“Jamison to Engineering. Let's get some engineers to start examining the shuttle we just brought in to see if there are any new instrument readings about the anomaly that brought us here. I’m sure if there’s any useful information there, you and your people can find it. Jamison out.”
Will sat back in the command chair and did what he thought was the hardest part of the job. He waited.

Joq’Tel walked along side the commanding female and several other subordinate males. Besides him was the one male they referred to as ‘Captain’. He was dressed differently from the others and for some reason he felt more comfortable around his alien. He dressed in a somewhat familiar fashion to the Flight Commander. His uniform appeared to be more functional than the other aliens.
“So you say you come from this Milky Way?”
“Yes,” Kirk replied, “It’s what we named the galaxy we come from.”
“Then tell me, what do you call this place?” Joq’Tel inquired.
Kirk looked at the Commodore who had looked back as she had heard the conversation starting up. She nodded her head in approval, but in reality Kirk hadn’t the slightest idea where they were.
“I’m not sure I can answer that.” Kirk replied truthfully.
“You mean you do now wish to tell me. For security purposes, I understand.”
“It’s not that at all. It’s just that we don’t know exactly where we are.”
”Andromeda.” Sonak said from the front of the group.
“You’re kidding?” Kirk said in pure astonishment.
“The Commodore does not kid.” Larok stated from behind the Challenger’s Captain.
“Of course she doesn’t, she’s Vulcan.” Kirk replied in a matter that suited his time and place, but was a narrow minded, racially charged comment for the 24th century Starfleet officers.
The last leg of the trip to Sickbay was silent until the doors opened to reveal another alien sitting on a bio bed, Dr. Saryn standing over him with a PDA in hand.
“By the Gods they were telling the truth.” Joq’Tel called out as he raced to see his wounded comrade, “We have much to discuss friend and I wish to do it in private.” Joq’Tel whispered into the ear of the wounded Vackall.

OOC: This post will be after the visit to Sick-bay.
(Cmdr Jamison. I think you will find Cmdr McLean is on board Challenger at the moment)
IC: Seconds before entering Astrometrics, Carl's Comm badge chirped quietly. Moving to one side, he tapped the badge and replied.
=^= Torek =^=
=^= Commander Jamison Sir .. Small update .. We have recovered the shuttle containing the Chief Operations Officer .. Also .. Commander McLean on the Challenger is requesting permission to place the ship inside Raven to continue repairs =^=
=^= We have begun replacing the bulkheads previously removed right =^=
=^= Aye Sir .. We're almost done =^= Jamison said, then waited for a reply.
=^= Patch me through to Commander McLean =^=
=^= Aye Sir .. Raven out =^=
A few seconds passed, then the badge came to life.
=^= McLean here =^=
=^= Scott .. We've almost finished replacing the bulkheads on the Raven .. Do you have maneuvering capability ? =^=
=^= Just about Sir .. But I ne ...... =^=
=^= OK .. Place the Challenger directly below Raven .. Close as you can .. Have Jamison extend the shields for protection .. I can't have the Raven beached with Challenger hanging out her saucer section .. We need to be able to move and fight is necessary =^=
=^= I'll have to leave the exterior work for now .. Concentrate on getting the ship up and running =^= Scott sighed, 'things never go smoothly when you need them too' he thought resignedly.
=^= Keep Captain Kirk and myself informed Scott .. Torek out =^=
Closing the Comm he walked the few steps to the doors of Astrometrics. Entering he could see an image of their home galaxy .. Walking to Sonak, he casually handed over the PADD.
"Status reports Ma'am." ..........

*Traks took note of the arrival of the new ship from home. Looking over the most recent report on the checkout of the shuttle combat conversions aboard the Raven he noticed a list of 3 Work Bee's: {Now that might be of some help to Mr. McLean.*
Traks: "Traks to Engineering; Commander my people have found 3 Work Bee's; still in their crates. They seem to have been loaded for delivery to a Star Base but they were never entered into the cargo manifest. They are in shuttle repair bay 3. I have ordered them unpacked and prepped. I just thought they might help you with the repairs of the Challenger. Traks out."
*Traks headed down to shuttle bay 3 to see this new type of craft and if it could help in defending this impromptu fleet or get them home.*

Jonathan had been on the bridge of the Vesuvius for sometime now watching the new fleet creep around just inside their sensor range. He was not sure yet if this fleet had actually spotted them, but he sure was not going to wait to find out. The initial problem was the size of the fleet. The Vesuvius’ sensors indicated that this was a fleet double the size of the fleet they were engaged to just hours ago.
“Bridge to Commodore Reckus.”
“Go ahead.”
“Ma’am we have a problem. That large fleet is heading in this direction, and at its current velocity it will be here in under four hours.”
“Have they spotted us?”
”I cannot say for sure, but the fleet abruptly turned directly at us. They also have yet to take up an aggressive position. What would you like us to do?”

McLean slowly moved the Challenger under the Raven, and once the small NX class ship was in place the Raven extended her shields around the smaller ship and activated a tractor beam.
“Ensign Swift to Commander McLean.”
”Go ahead Swifty.”
“Sir, the Challenger repairs crews are ready as you requested. We’ve also fallen into a handful of worker bees, how would you like to use those?”
“Let me think about the worker bees, but get all crews over here as soon as possible.” McLean said.
“There’s one more thing.”
“What’s that Swifty?”
“There’s another fleet heading our way and it should be here in about three hours.”
“Then we’ve got three hours to get the Challenger back up and running.”

OOC:
Edited.
IC:
Shortly after speaking with Captain Torek, Ensign Malik announced from the tactical station, “Sir. That fleet has started moving on an intercept course. They should arrive in approximately 3 hours.”
“Thank you, Ensign. Keep an eye on them, let me know of any other changes and be prepared to sound battle stations if needed.” Will replied.
Will began sending an update to the PADD the captain was carrying.
A moment later, communications chimed an incoming call.
=^= McLean to Raven =^=
=^= Go ahead, Chief =^=
=^= Commander. Captain Torek has given me the approval to move the Challenger underneath the Raven for repairs. You’ll need to lower shields to let us in and than extend them out to cover the Challenger as well. =^=
=^= No problem Chief. Just let us know when you’re ready to move and we’ll get everything ready. I just ask you do it as soon as possible. We’ve detected a fleet of ships headed our way and we don’t know if they’re friends or foes. I don’t wanna be caught with our shields down.” =^=
=^= Yes, sir. I’ve already been informed about the ships headed our way. We should be ready shortly. =^=
=^= Very well. Chief. Raven out =^=
“Status report, Ensign.”
“No change, sir. They’re still headed this way. Same course. Same speed.”
Will just sat back and thought to himself once more Here’s that damn waiting game again.

"...Yes I know you, your son and his son but You will never know me as my name of birth is not the same one I now use. That person died somewhere in the depths of the Delta Quadrant. Killed by your great grandson, who is the mirror image of you and to some extent your clone.
"My son has no children," Saryn replied as calmly as possible, "and I would not care to know anything about my offspring's future if not necesary. Keep your grudges to yourself, Major Larok, for I care not for them."
The Vulcan doctor too, acknowledged the commodore's orders, though he kept his eyes on the older Vulcan. These future Vulcans were much different from what he knew his own species to be, at least more liberal and more prone to emotional outbursts. And the longer he was in their presence, the less he felt like his own self. And the more he felt less like himself, the more he longed to be away from these strangers.
"Aye Aye mam; I shall restrain from killing him. I shall bring my personal weapons and let you choose which one I use."
The commodore didn't seem to honour that one with a response, so Saryn merely raised his eyebrow. "You claim to have no weapons, but I can see you have at least one concealed on your person. I have not always been a doctor, I was the tactical officer before my change of occupation."
He watched as the Vulcan turned his back on him, then continued to watch as the small party left sickbay to go to what she called 'astrometrics', whatever that was. And what on earth was a holodeck?
Saryn turned back to his patient, helping him to sit up. "You should be feeling better now sir," he offered, further ignoring the aggravating marine. "I am certain you will rejoin your people shortly, if the commodore allows it."
As the alien started to move wildly, Saryn had no choice but to call on the marine. "I need your assistance major, he seems to want to leave, and I cannot communicate with him. And I dare not sedate him; his physiology is unfamiliar."

ooc: please note that the alien in sickbay is NOT our second guest player Kleu. Kleu is in the brig, as far as I know. The alien in sickbay is of the same species as Joq'Tel. Additionally, please do not write for Sonak or Saryn unless I've authorised you to do so. I don't appreciate being written for.
ic:
The small group entered the turbolift. "Deck four," Sonak ordered, taking them directly to astrometrics. Just as they exited, Kirk's voice resounded over her combadge and they exchanged a few words.
”I cannot say for sure, but the fleet abruptly turned directly at us. They also have yet to take up an aggressive position. What would you like us to do?”
"Maintain yellow alert," she ordered, "stand by on weapons but do not fire unless fired upon. We have a cease fire at present and we shall not be the ones to compromise that. Position Discordia between Challenger and the fleet, and get Fox to move Mercury as well. Raven will protect from the other side."
She glanced sideways at both other captains, marveling at their youth. Torek was slightly younger than when she first took command of a ship within the fleet, and Kirk was even younger. She wondered if both were at all ready for the responsebilities of command, though they were coping well so far. There was a determination on their faces that told her pretty much what she had hoped to see in a commanding officer.
Yet, there was something Torek hadn't been telling her, and she could sense that he was debating to, but didn't want to in front of the rest. "Captain Kirk, please take Commander Joq'Tel inside." At that moment, they were joined by Vesuvius' senior marine officer. "Keep an eye on them major," she ordered, "we shall join you shortly. Is the doctor settled in sickbay now?"
Sonak knew she would remind him later of the order she'd given, knowing something needed to be settled between her marine, whom she trusted beyond doubt, and the oldtime Vulcan doctor, whom she did not completely trust. There was an anger in him, which wasn't necessarily directed at them, but it was there. A resentment towards the Vulcans on her vessel, as well as Raven if any, and she also sensed a resentment towards Andorians. No, that wasn't quite correct; she had witnessed that resentment.
As Larok followed Kirk and Joq'tel in, Sonak turned towards the young Human captain. "Something troubles you," she offered gently, "is there anything you wish to share with me, before we go in there and show Joq'tel where exactly we are from?"
After Torek's response, the two commanding officers rejoined their little group. "Right now, I wish commander Fox were present but he is currently commanding Mercury," she revealed, as she approached the controls, calling up an image of their own galaxy. "This is the Milky Way, as seen from outside our galaxy," she explained, then magnified the image into one of the galaxy's arms. Further magifying it, she showed an image that comprised the Federation, in their own time rather than their present.
"Captain Kirk, please note that none of this information may be passed back to your crew. You may not take notes or recordings." At his nod, she continued her explanation. Then she changed the image. "As we were thrown back in time, this is what the Federation is now..."
The image on the screen changed drastically. "At present, it is called the Alliance, though Captain Kirk may better explain that from here on." She motioned for Kirk to continue, while she moved to stand beside Torek and Larok.
