At first Andy was dumbfounded to see the Milky Way Galaxy from this angle. Normally it was a computer-generated image of what they thought the Milky Way looked like from a great distance. This however was the Milky Way, as it appeared from Andromeda.
“Captain.” Sonak said to get the Andy back on track.
“Sorry Commodore,” Andy took that last moment to move onto the present situation, “Currently my people are united in an alliance we call the Coalition of Planets. It’s simply a group of races that have come together to try and create peace between our various cultures. It also appears our hard work has paid off.”
Joq’Tel looked confused as to him the aliens were all the same to him. Andy quickly moved on and called up an image of Andromeda as viewed from the Milky Way, “This is the Andromeda Galaxy and our closest galactic neighbor.” Andy said as he studied the alien.
“Why are you showing me this?” Joq’Tel asked as his eyes continued to watch the imagery.
“Because this is where this ships computer says we are.” Andy added while a bright red blip flashed on one of the outer arms of the Andromeda Galaxy.
“You have traveled a great distance then.”
“That would be putting it mildly,” Kirk shot back, “We traveled an unbelievable distance and we’re not sure how it happened.” Andy was going to continue to add in the aspect of time travel but it seemed the alien was still focused on the vast distances they had traveled.
“This is unbelievable,” Joq’Tel’s words trailed off at first, “My people believe that they are the only ones in the universe, and that our Gods created this place for us. Everything we believe is a lie.”
Andy walked up next to the Vackall Commander and looked up at the image, “Once my people too believed that our God had created all this for us. In fact there are still people on my home planet who believe it. However, the fact of the matter is that life exists all over the universe, but because it’s so vast it’s not often we run into it.”
Joq’Tel brought his head down to Andy’s eye line. Andy could see in the eyes of the alien that his entire world had been opened up to new possibilities, “We’re just explorers and we come in peace, but right now we’re looking for a way home.”
“I would like to help you but I have superiors that I must answer to, and if I don’t rendezvous with them they will bring a much larger fleet here. Then you would have another fight on your hands. Allow me to return to my ship and contact General Thron. I’m sure he’ll be willing to listen to your story.”

OOC: I know this isn't really advancing the story but I am a little low on inspiration at the moment.
The battle was over and the cease fire was holding, so far. Morgan had technically been off shift hours ago and now he was doing what any pilot would do in the circumstances, he had given his station over to the duty NO and headed to the mess. He was planning on a meal and a nap. He was hoping to catch Jason in the mess, or maybe Madeline (the charming nurse who had let him out of sickbay early).
Of course, he had left instructions that he was to be called back to the bridge the moment there was trouble, but for now Morgan was going to enjoy some peace and a very large helping of steak pie and mashed potatoes. Sadly neither of the two crew members he had been looking for were present so Morgan ate alone.
Morgan had an ability to focus very intently on one thing for as long as needed and then switch that intense focus to something else almost instantly. It was yet another factor about him that occasionally unnerved people and yet he saw it and perfectly normal and even necessary if he was going to be a good pilot.
Morgan finished his meal and then headed towards his quarters to rest, he did not know how long he would be able to sleep for but intended to make the most of it.

Lt.Marcus Nodded and headed to the what he thought was a open station he was not really familiar with the Mark III style of the galaxy class. He sat down and started tapping commands when he felt a presence behind him turn he found an ensign standing there." Sir thats my station." She said. "Sorry Ensign i am new here. Could you tell me where Ops is?" The ensign kinda smiled at that."Ops is over there Sir. Since your new here would you like my help finding your way around?" Marcus smiles at that. "Sure when we both have some free time. The names Jake Marcus." The ensign knew the name and was taken aback by it. "Your father is on the USS Dallas." It was Marcus's turn to be shocked. "How did you know?" He replied.
The young ensign smiled."I can't believe you would forget your old friend i mean Partner in Crime." Even before she finished saying the words Jake looked at her closer and saw the little girl he once spent a week in the bowels of the ship doing work for his father when he was grounded because of. "Mary Hart!!." Jake was happy to know someone on the Raven.
Mary took him over to his console and Marcus started tapping commands. Running a ship wide systems check he was thinking about the last time he saw Mary." Mary what happened after we evacuated?" Mary looked away at first. "Well in the shuttle craft we didn't get very far when a Jem'Hadar ship found us, At first my mother and i were taken into a really nice room where a Vorta was waiting." Mary's eyes were downcast and Marcus could see there were tears in them. "Mary you can tell me later, Right now we need to focus on the task at hand." His console showed some power spikes and he sent a report to the CEO so he could have them repaired.
Marcus was also locating his quarters and checking if the shuttle he was found in was being repaired. after all was said and done he looked over at the station Mary was at to fine she was off shift.He would be soon and would find her.

Ma'am." Carl said quietly, "I'd like to return to the Raven if possible. I need to check up on the repairs after we gutted the ship to accommodate Challenger."
Sonak knew he could do that from here, but nodded, allowing the Captain to leave.
~~~~~~~~~~
Minutes later, he was entering the Raven's Bridge, heading for his ready room.
"Lieutenant." he said, knowing full well that the newcomer was following him, "Take a seat ..." Torek said as the door closed.
Checking the desk-top terminal, he frowned.
"You were supposed to report two day's ago Lieutenant. But given the circumstances ... OK ... Normally on a Galaxy Class, the Operations Officer would be appointed Second Officer, but we'll hold off on that for the time being. At least until you know your way around, Excuse me .." Carl said, grinning as he tapped his Comm badge.
=^= Torek to Jamison .. I need you to activate the Operations Officer's access codes. Log it as current ships' star date =^=
=^= Doing it now Admiral =^=
"...... Sorry about that." Carl said apologetically, "OK .. First things first .. I want you to move Challenger to Vesuvius. Ves can cover her almost as well as we can. Then set a course for the 'exact' point that you emerged from the anomaly ... I intend to find a way out of this Galaxy. I'm not going to be in Command of the Raven for long, and I'd much prefer to be home when it comes to an end .... Dismissed ...."
Aye Sir, and ... Thank you." Jake replied, heading for the Bridge.
'Young mans game' ...... Carl thought wistfully, as he watched Jake leave ..........
The turbolift doors parted and Captain Torek exited onto the bridge. Jamison immediately stood.
“As you were.” said the captain as he headed straight to his ready room followed closely by the new COO.
Will sat back down.
“Status report.”
Ensign Malik responded right away. “The Challenger is in position and repairs are under way. The Fleet is still being monitored. There is no change in their course or speed. They should arrive within the next 90 minutes.”
“Thank you, Ensign.”
=^= Aye, sir. Doing it now Captain. =^=
Will entered the commands into the computer that would allow the COO access to everything he was cleared for. He than began preparing a current report for Captain Torek.
Work on the Challenger had been taking longer than McLean had wanted. It wasn’t that it was hard work, on the contrary, it was in fact simply work, but knowing the complexities of a ship’s systems was another matter all together. Having the Challenger’s assistant Chief Engineer and rapid repair crew helped out more than words could explain.
“Commander McLean?” Scott heard one of the Challenger’s engineers calling out to him.
“Yes?”
“We’re ready to start the flow of anti-matter.”
“Right. I’ll be right over.” McLean rushed from the small work that he was overseeing to the much more important job of doing the anti-matter transfer. It wasn’t that he didn’t trust the Challenger’s engineers to do it, it was simply that his ship was on the line and it made it his job.
“Don’t worry about that Commander, I’ll do it.” McLean relieved the rather upset looking Commander from the controls.
Pulling a PADD out of his cargo pocket he placed it up on the console in front of him so he could see the flow from the Raven’s sensors.
“Start the flow.” McLean ordered.
It was always an interesting experience to hear the hum of the magnetic fields running at full power, to prevent any anti-matter form escaping and coming in contact with the regular matter, especially since the warp drive had been off line for as long as it had been. It was the sound of life for a starship, and that sound brought a smile to all the engineers’ faces.
The hard part was that the Challenger was now a mix and patch of different parts, some in fact from the Raven herself. McLean knew the rules, but also understood the larger more primal rules of survival. Moreover, he knew his history and the Challenger wasn’t a ship that went lost and never heard form again. She was a ship with a proud legacy, and McLean was going to make sure she got back home, even if he had to put in a few small bells and whistles from the Raven’s stockpile.
The flow of anti-matter was stable and now it was time to introduce normal matter into the chamber, “Is the reaction chamber closed?”
“Yeah.” Was the informal reply McLean got in return. McLean rolled his eyes for a second but then realized they were from a different time, and they had different ways of doing things.
“All right then. Let’s start the reaction.” McLean stepped aside and let the Challenger’s assistant Chief Engineer go to work. He wasn’t going to stop his Chief from controlling the fate of his ship, much as the Commander let go just moments before.
A low hum began at first, light flickered and then it happened. The warp engine came online. The Challenger’s engine room erupted in cheers and hand shaking between old and future engineers. McLean smiled as he looked down on the scene. It seemed despite time and distance an engineer is an engineer.
“Thank you Commander.” McLean heard from behind him.
He quickly turned on his heels and spotted the outstretched hand of the acting Chief Engineer, “No problem, and thank you.”
“For what?”
“Letting me work on your ship. I know what it’s like to have another man’s hands on your baby…it’s not comfortable watching somebody else try and fix your ship.” McLean elaborated.
“Sure, but doesn’t a good engineer know when to ask for help?”
“Yes he does.” McLean replied smiling, but secretly thinking about how stubborn he had been in the past with help. It was this moment that he finally realized that he wasn’t going to be able to teach the Challenger engineers anything; they were in fact teaching him, “Get your crew back onboard Commander, I’m going to check in with Commander Torek.”
Carl left the ready room ...
"Mister Marcus." he said, not worrying about the fact the Operations Officer had been thrown in at the proverbial deep end, "Has Challenger been relocated ?"
"She's maneuvering below the Vesuvius now Sir .. Commander McLean is about to initiate start-up of their warp core."
"Good."
Torek took his seat, and pondered the fact that the second the Admiral was fit, he'd relinquish Command and return to his former position. But to do that several things needed to happen .... One, Mc had to recover. Two, The Raven needed to return to her own Galaxy. And three ...... Well three can wait, but needless to say his days as CO were numbered. Regardless.
"Lieutenant Marcus. Inform Commodore Reckus that we will be leaving. Send her all the data we correlate."
"Aye sir."
"Execute maneuver .." Carl said.
The Raven moved slowly, turning on her axis before heading away from the Vesuvius and her companion. Less than an hour later, she was less than one thousand kilometers from the point where the shuttle had exited the anomaly ..
"Begin scans ...... I want a way out of here now .. if not yesterday."
Carl almost jumped out of his seat and headed for the turbo-lift ..
"I'll be in Ten Forward having a bite to eat." he said, as the turbo-lift doors closed, on more, Torek thought, than the lift itself ..........
"Aye sir. I will get right on it, I jut hope the anomaly is still around. I would like to have Ensign Hart assist me with your permission of course sir." Marcus said.
<Tag Torek>
Marcus exited the Ready room and walked over to ensign Hart. In the most command like tone he could make given who she was he said "Your with me ensign until we are back home." the ensign looked at him and laughed "Aye sir." She said in a mocking tone. A Lt.commander over heard that tone and looked at the pair of officer's. Marcus knew he was new on board but held a hand up. "Ensign i gave you an order." Giving her a look like come on i don't need this now.
As the two officers went to the Ops console Marcus looked at her. "What was that about Mary." Marcus asked. Hart looked at him replied "Sorry just less then one day on the ship and your giving orders." Marcus looked at her "Captain's orders are to get the Challenger to the Vesuvius so we can go to the point i entered this space. Maybe if the anomaly is still there we can use it to get home." Mary replied "how can i help." Your science i am Ops between us two we should know if the plan will work or need tweaking."
Mary smiled "Ok Lieutenant let's get to work." she turns to the Ops console and started scanning for the anomaly as Marcus uses the tractor emitter to move the Challenger to the Vesuvius. The ship moved slow and gracefully to the other ship. Ensign Hart was scanning subspace from the Ops console and was not getting anything. "Jake i can't find your anomaly." Marcus spun around "What do you mean, You can't find it." Mary was tapping and tapping control after control. "I can't find it on any standard scan." Mary replied. Marcus went to the Ops console." See Mary this is where i need your scientific mind."
Marcus worked for a while to find the anomaly but was having no luck.~"I wonder is someone fixed my Shuttle." Marcus thought. Tapping his combadge. =/\="Marcus to Engineering. Has anyone fixed my shuttle."
<Tag Engineering>
Mary looked at him a little lost. "What would you need from the shuttle." Marcus Looked at her. "No Ensign The sensor reading from my shuttle may still be in tacked. If they are we can use them to find the anomaly."
McLean had been back on the Raven less than an hour when a call came down from the Bridge to Main Engineering, “Marcus to Engineering. Has anyone fixed my shuttle." His tone didn’t sit well with the Raven’s Chief Engineer.
“Who is this?” McLean replied before anybody else had the chance.
“Lieutenant Marcus, the Raven’s Chief Operations Officer. With whom am I speaking?”
“Lt. Commander Scott McLean, the Raven’s Chief Engineer. First, in case you hadn’t noticed that shuttle doesn’t belong to you Lieutenant, it belongs to Starfleet. Second, we’ve yet to get the damaged shuttle, it’s low on our priority list at this moment. Perhaps you’ve noticed the two hundred year old NX Class ship floating about? If there’s something you need from your shuttle, I suggest you march your butt down to the shuttle bay and retrieve it yourself. And From now on if you need something from me or my engineers you request it and respect my guys as I respect yours. Do I make myself clear Lieutenant?”
“Perfectly.”
“Good, now what is so important about that shuttle?” McLean’s attitude had completely changed. It was more than likely the outlet he needed to release all the stresses of the last few days.
“I need the shuttle’s sensor logs for when I came through the anomaly.”
“I’ll get somebody on that, you should have it with in the hour.” McLean said.
“Thank you.”
“You’re welcome Lieutenant, and welcome aboard.”
Commander Torek emgerged from his ready room and Will stood and took his place at the Tactical station.
Will hadn’t served on the Raven for long but he had a feeling that something was bothering the Commander. He continue checking his readouts and updating his report on the incoming fleet but kept an eye out for anything out of place.
“I have the updated information on the fleet that’s headed this way, Lt. I’ll send it to your station and you can add it to your transmission.” Will said to Lt. Marcus.
“Aye, sir.” answered Jamison as he moved to take the conn. He knew that typically the COO was Second Officer onboard a Galaxy class vessel, but he was ranking officer with Commander Toreks absence and wasn’t told any different.
As Will took his seat, he heard the exchange between Marcus and McLean.
Turning to face Marcus, “Hell of a welcome aboard, huh?” he said smiling.
Nick swore under his breath as Sarah handed him the latest damage reports. He gets pulled back into service and suddenly the ship gets tossed God knows where by some alien thing. All he knew was that shore leave was going to be one great time when they got home.
"Are you sure about these figures?" he asked his second in command while looking over his PDA.
"Positive sir," Sarah replied. "We've had nothing but problems with the docking clamps and cloak on Discordia. The EPS systems in the are don't seem to be working anymore, especially after the Challenger pulled that stunt with the anti-matter. Mer isn't any better. They've been having gravity fluctuations. We received reports of a flying hamster on deck 10." Nick raised an eyebrow at the thought of a flying hamster. ~It probably enjoyed the freedom,~ he thought.
A series of sparks errupted from the central island in engineering followed by swearing from Carl Jenkins, the systems specialist. Nick stepped out from his office to see what the matter was. Carl was just sliding out from under the island, soot covering his face.
"Console overloaded," he stated, "and hasn't wanted to restart.' He flat palm slapped the surface of the desk and a burp of smoke came from the side.
"Mm k. Looks like we've got our work cut out for us people. Lets get this ship back in one piece before more fun things happen."
Nick leaned down and opened a panel on one side of the central island and one across the room from the island. He reached into the second panel and pulled out a large cable, the power to the wall went out. Then pulling a length of cable out of the wall he plugged it into the central island, which came suddenly to life. Carl looked at Sarah, then they both looked at the 4 inch cable strung across engineering. Nick just stood up, dusted off his pants, stepped over the cable and walked calmly back into his office.
"The console is working now," Carl reported as the doors slid closed. Sarah just smirked and went back to work at the warp core.
Nick sat down in his chair, wasn't his for a while but is now his again. It felt good. He rubbed the leather arms and let out a soft sigh. ~It's been too long~ he thought to himself. Placing a hand on the wall he closed his eyes and let the throb of the ships engine pulse through his arm. This was where he needed to be, this was his baby and he'd neglected it.
"I won't leave you again baby," he whispered to the ship.
"=^= Commander Iceman report to USS Vesuvius -A star fleet out.=^=
"How was he going to get there he thought to himself the ship is in the Andromeda Galaxy, and he is on S/B Conqueror."
"He thought to himself for a minute, then got a idea." Kang of the Klingon Empire could help him, he was still his friend he hoped.
Iceman walked over to the Communications tower on Star base "Conqueror. "Now if I can remember these access codes, OK there it is Kang's personal line.
=^=Commander Iceman to Kang come in=^= La' chuch ghov HIja' came the voice over the comm. "English please Commander Iceman said" I'm a little rusty.
=^= Very good Commander Iceman "Kang said "I'm still going to kill you, where have you been I'm still waiting for my prize the, "Stop wait right there not over subspace Kang," I need a favor first=^=
=^= I'm in a bad way and I need your Chrono Deflector, I know you have one, the one that is better then your Brother's Korath's =^=
=^= Ha Kang laughed, exchange for what, you still owe me from the last time=^=
=^= I need to get the Andromeda Galaxy, you are the only person that can get me there by using your device=^=
=^= "Kang thought for a second" You better come back someday or the price on your head will be so big, I will send the whole fleet after you, and I still want what you owe me, your the only one that knows where it is.=^=
=^= Agreed Kang "Iceman said" and by the way I need a shuttle to get there=^=
=^=" Ha Kang Said"
=^= Our agreement Kang or you will never get what you want.=^=
=^= Fine Commander I'm on my way where are you=^=
=^=I'm at Star base Conqueror=^=
=^= Very good I happen to be close be there in a couple of hours "Kang out"=^=
While Commander Iceman was waiting for Kang to show up he took the time to go over the specs of USS Vesuvius-A, and get to know the helm and navigation control of the ship.
Then the call came through =^= Commander Iceman this is Kang ready to beam you to the ship, Commander Iceman ready to beam, do you have me. "Yes Kang said ready to beam"
Has soon has Commander Iceman got to the ship Kang punched him has hard has he could, thats for leaving me on the planet long ago. "OK I got the picture Iceman said" Now for business at hand.
"OK Kang said "I need to take you to the shuttle,and I will hook you up to the Chrono Deflector, unlike my brother's when you open the rift, It will automatically find the ship you are looking for and send you there, easy as that.
Kang's ship then took off at high warp speed from star base conqueror to the shuttles destination, after a few hours the ship arrived at the coordinates, there she is commander, I will hook it up and remember your promise to me or the next time I will kill you.
I promise "Commander Iceman said' has soon has I get done here I will search you out, "in his dreams Commander Iceman said" in his head with out Kang hearing.
"Ready to go Kang said" and remember I want what is mine or I will never stop looking for you understood.
Agree "said Commander Iceman" Ready to go. Iceman fired up the Chrono Deflector, a rift in space opened up, and it locked on right where the USS Vesuvius -A was, Iceman went into the rift and came out right in front of the ship.
Wow it worked Kang did it " Iceman said to himself"
=^= Commander Iceman to USS Vesuvius Commander Sonak do you read me permission to come aboard =^=
This was becoming both interesting and rather annoying as Sonak watched the Raven move away from them, after Challenger was moved to hover between her three modules. Torek had not explained why he was leaving, but even if she wanted to stop him, she wouldn't stand a chance. Raven was twice as big as her vessel and she was no match for the larger ship.
That, and it wouldn't do to show Joq'Tel division among her small band of people, her small Federation far away from home. She'd question him, thoroughly, when he would return; IF he would return. "Captain Kirk, how exactly did your vessel end up here?" she queried, temporarily ignoring the Vackall as he marveled at the screen. She had yet to acknowledge his request to talk to his own captain, and she was pondering what to respond. "I need your confirmation on Joq'Tel's request as well," she added, as if on afterthought. "With Captain Torek leaving this meeting, your decision is of the utmost importance."
=^=Captain, I have an incoming transmission," Thorad called from the bridge, "oh and guess who took control of main engineering?" The Andorian sounded almost cheerful, and his voice had a cheeky edge to it.
"Enlighten me lieutenant," she answered coldly, in no mood for games, "and put the transmission through. Who is it from?"
"A Commander Iceman ma'am," Thorad replied, "requesting to come aboard. And Commander Martens has taken control of engineering."
Sonak held her breath in utter surprise; she hadn't known Nick had even come back aboard. Just how had he managed to remain hidden? "Send him to astrometrics as soon as he boards," she ordered, "and get Martens here as well."
"Yes ma'am," Thorad replied. There was a long silence. "Ma'am, something else, Larok and Halthor have just disappeared. And no I don't know where too. One minute I read them, the next there're nowhere to be found. Not here, not on Raven, not on Challenger, not even on the alien fleet. They're just gone."
"Call security!" Sonak snapped back, before turning to Kirk and Joq'Tel, only now noticing that Larok was indeed gone. "Where are my crewmen," she demanded of either man.
Meanwhile, Thorad patched his information through to his chief on Mercury. "Commander Kirk, we've got disappearances on the ship. Commander Halthor and Major Larok are gone. And a Commander Iceman is requesting permission to come aboard. He's to come aboard on Minerva, and report to the captain."
The Andorian's antennae swayed in frustration, as he switched channels. "Commander Iceman, after docking on Minerva, you are to report to astrometrics. Commodore Reckus shall brief you there. She'll want to know how you got here, and how you knew where we were. Has Starfleet managed to track us somehow?"
"Hell of a welcome aboard, huh?” Jamison said. Marcus smiled "yeah well try spending your leave on your father's ship." Marcuse thought back to the last time he was on the Dallas. "I had seven Padds in my hand before i even stepped off the Transporter Pad." Marcus looked back at the commander. "So i am use to it."
Marcus turned to find a young ensign being pointed in his direction. "Yes ensign." As she handed him a Padd. "Here are your sensor readings from Commander McLean." Turning away she headed back to the turbolift.
Mary Hart came over to Him and took the Padd."I will crossreferance the Raven's sensors with the shuttle's." Marcus nodded as she left to scan for the anomaly. Marcus was looking around on the bridge and was happy to be on a ship where he was doing something quickly and not sanding around waiting for orders. The training he just completed gave him some command codes he could only use in an emergency. However he couldn't use them to help the Raven get home no matter if the Capitan ordered him to or not.
Mary signaled Jake and he headed over to his console. "What do you have." Mary motioned to the Sensor map. "You not going to believe this but the anomaly is moving away." Marcus studied the readings. ~ Now why is it moving? Could it be artificially created like the Bajorian wormhole."~ Marcus thought.
Marcus was looking at the sensor reading and saw the anomaly was speeding up."Commander Jamison we need to jump to warp 2 on bearing 248 mark 47 or else we will lost the anomaly."
*As Larok left the sick bay he heard Saryn call for him to help him with the alien, but as Larok steeped through the door he found himself in a white void occupied by a female in a dress from 18th century Earth.* " Looking around Larok spoke to the Female ; If I am still alive then you must be Q's wife. " I prefer Lady Q.' she replied. But to save time I have brought you here as you are needed elsewhere. Do not argue nothing you say or do can change what needs to be.
" Who are you to decide the needs of the many? asked Larok; I am Q. she replied as the world dissolved around larok and then solidified on a Klingon station.
Carl had been staring at the meal in front of him for a full fifteen minutes .. It had, of course, gone cold, and he was surprised to see a steward exchanging the original meal with a hot version.
"Even 'Captains' prefer hot meals Carl."
Torek looked up at the man and grinned. Belik, a civilian bartender, was probably the only person on the ship who never used rank Torek's rank during a conversation. They'd spent many a night shift hour chatting, and Carl considered him a confidante.
"You're determined to make me eat ...." Carl replied, almost reluctantly picking up a fork-full of food.
"How's the Admiral ?" Balik asked casually.
"As well as can be expected .. In and out of consciousness."
Balik was quiet for a moment as Torek fed several more portions of food into his mouth, chewing slowly before swallowing ..
"That woman wouldn't have made you Captain if she didn't have confidence in your ability to Command the Raven." he said shrugging, casually placing a brandy glass in front of Torek, "If you want my opinion, which I notice you didn't yet ask for, but hey, you're getting it anyway ... You are thinking of walking away from the center seat ... That would be a mistake." he finished, pushing the brandy a few inches closer to his friend.
Carl was about to reply when the Raven jumped to warp. He was reaching to tap his Comm badge, but Balik stopped him by pointing out a simple fact.
"If they need you, they will yell."
He pointed at the brandy, then left Carl to his thoughts ..........
"Do what ever it takes, Lt. But keep up with it. The captain seems very anxious to get home." Jamison replied.
Will returned to getting his security logs caught up and debated informing the Captain but decided against it. Right now, chasing an anomaly was something he could handle. He hoped.
Carl watched as the ship headed away at warp. They were rapidly approaching an anomaly. 'Some kind of miniature wormhole maybe' he thought, pushing the brandy to one side before moving to the windows.
Suddenly the Raven banked sharply to Starboard, putting the event horizon of the anomaly behind them .. He glanced at the Comm badge on his chest, debating whether to tap it or not, but a wry look from his friend Balik was all he needed. He headed for the doors ..
~~~~~~~~~~
"Report Mister Jamison." he said, entering the Bridge.
"Sir it looks like our anomaly could be an unstable wormhole." Will said, moving out of Torek's seat, "This end is jumping around like no-ones business."
"The other end then is in a fixed position .... At the moment ?" Carl said, thinking, "Well we can't just fly right in there and hope for the best. Though I'm sorely tempted .... Send in a class five probe, let's see what information we can get."
"Launching now Captain." Jamison said from the Science station.
"OK ... Get us back to the Vesuvius." Carl said, a sigh almost escaping from his lips, "Repay the probes' data to all departments .. Seems we're here for a little longer everyone." ..........

Kirk watched as the drama unfolded in front of him. Sonak demanded to Joq’Tel to tell her where her missing crewmembers were. The problem was that he didn’t really know. He stood, just as Kirk did, in place and not in a manner that could accuse him of removing the Commodore’s crewmen.
“We must leave this section of space.” Joq’Tel finally opened up to Andy.
“Why?”
“Because this section of space is known to be cursed by the God of the underworld. At first I never believed it but now…the stories seem to be true after all.”
“Cursed. Really?” Andy’s tone was very condescending.
“They speak of a man who comes in many forms and steals the bravest of the souls among the crew. Those men must be the bravest among you.”
“I do believe we are going to stay right here until we find out where they have gone.” Kirk insisted.
“This is why we attacked you.”
”What?” Andy snapped.
“This place is a forbidden place, but the Vackall Prime Fleet has been known to betray our societies codes of conduct. We have spies in their ranks and they said they were sure you were the newest of the Vackall Prime Fleet.”
“You keep saying that, but who are the Vackall Prime?” Kirk asked.
There was a slight pause but after a moment the Vackall Flight Commander spoke up, first softly as if he was telling an important secret, “The Vackall Prime Fleet is our home fleet. It is the fleet all of us abandoned and formed a rebellion against Vackall Prime.”
“You’re a rebel force?”
“Yes,” Joq’Tel’s voice grew louder, “They have been murdering my people for hundred of years and now it was the time for some of us to stand up and fight back. General Thron and myself are two of the highest Vackall to rebel. Thron controls the North Fleet and I control the South fleet.”
Joq’Tel stopped talking abruptly and pressed his hand to his ear as if he was listening to something. His eyes shot up to meet Kirk’s eyes, “We must leave this sector of space at once.”
”Yeah you said that already.”
“No, for the Vackall Prime Fleet has arrived, and they are heading this way.”
“Commodore, I think you better hear this.” Andy said getting Sonak’s attention.

Knowing that Andy was taking care of business alongside the Vulcan woman, Jack took the opportunity to fix as many problems as possible. He knew that the enemey fleet was closing in on them, but the arrival of the alien had given them a few minutes to think.
"Ensign, we need weapons and hull plating back on line," Jack said as he reached his console. He knew that he was asking a lot of the skeleton crew on board, but he knew that they were capable of pulling off the impossible. They were still alive after all.
"Commander something wierd is happening," the science officer reported," space is folding upon itself!"
"Where?" Jack asked alarmed at this new announcment. Challenger couldn't survive another temporal incursion.
"On the bridge, near the lift," the science officer reported as everyone onboard turned to the lift which promptly opened up to reveal a young man with a familiar uniform.
"Who the hell are you?" Jack asked as he pointed his weapon at the stranger.
"I am Commander Paikea Apirana, I was in route to join the USS Vesuvius when a being known....." Paikea began to say before he realized where he was. The young commander knew the figuration of the NX class of the 22nd century and he was positive that he wasn't in a musuem.
"Get me the Vulcan!" Jack said as he motioned for the guards on the bridge to disarm the man on the bridge.
"Commodore Reckus, Andy a man claiming to know about the Vesuvius has just appeared on the Challenger," Jack said," he says his name is Paikea Apirana. Any I'm awaiting your instructions."

"I'm beginning to get telemetry from the probe." the duty Science Officer said, "There's a massive neutrino reading .. That could account for the unstable event horizon."
"Is there going to be a way to stabli ......" Carl began, but was interrupted by the Tactical Officer.
"Sorry Captain. But that 'fleet' of ships we spotted earlier, twenty ships similar in size to the Vackall vessels ......"
"Twenty ?" Torek asked, making decisions in his head.
"Yes Sir. But there's another ship too. She is approximately ......" Jamison hesitated, checking, then double-checking his readings, " ...... Approximately eight times our size !"
The Bridge was totally silent as Torek took in the information. Eight times the size of the Raven would make it almost .. Thirty six million tonnes ! ... A ship that size was almost inconceivable, but here it was.
"Open a Comm to the Vesuvius." Torek said.
"Comm open."
=^= Commodore Reckus .. Commander Torek .. I assume you have seen what's approaching ? =^=
=^= We have .... 'Captain' .... I have received information regarding the newcomers .. Do you have any suggestions as to how we should proceed ? =^=
=^= ...... Run ...... =^= Carl said sceptically.
=^= A possible option I agree =^= Sonak replied, not catching Torek's attempt at humor.
=^= Is the Challenger capable of warp ? =^=
=^= Warp two ...... For minutes rather than hours Captain =^= Kirk said.
Carl thought for a moment, then came up with something.
=^= I suggest positioning the Raven directly in the mother-ship's path .. It's possible I could slow them enough to allow you to get a head start =^=
=^= There is pertinent information you need to be made aware of Captain but your suggestion is sound .. I will move Vesuvius and Challenger .. Be aware Captain that the approaching fleet may or may not be a potential ally =^=
"Helm, put us in their way .. Now !" Torek ordered.
=^= I'll hold them off as long as I can then attempt to follow you Commodore .. Raven out ! =^=
Carl looked at the image on-screen, of the approaching vessel and her escorts.
"Standard magnification." he ordered.
"Sir ...... That 'IS' standard magnification." ..........

"Sir ...... That 'IS' standard magnification." Jamison said.
Everyone on the bridge took a brief moment to stare at the viewscreen in awe. Than, it was business as usual.
While navigation took them between their comrades and the incoming fleet, Jamison put his security personnel on alert.
“Sir? May I recommend having phasers on standby and yellow alert? At least until we figure out if they’re friendly or not? “ Jamison suggested.
“Standby, Commander. Let’s see if we can get them to chat first. All hailing frequencies, Ensign. Be sure to let them know we’re not here to start any trouble.” replied the captain.

*As the reports came in of the possible new threat a radical new idea began to form. Moving from the axillary tactical station to the first officers seat.* "Sir I have an idea that we should discuss before it is too late. *Traks looked the acting Capitan in the eye and nodded toward the ready room."
<tag, Torek >
*Traks rose and followed Torek into the ready room. Torek leaned against the desk and looked to Traks to begin.* "Sir and I do address you as sir not only because of your position on this ship but because you have earned it. We are a long way from home and command has fallen to you. I have only two problems with your actions. One you are the Capitan now and until the Admiral recovers you are it. that is your chair and the crew needs to know you feel like you belong there. Two you have not addressed the lack of an acting Xo. Sorry but the ops officer is not the most experienced but if you think he should be your XO then do it; do not leave it up in the air. I have no doubt he could handle it but at what cost to him or the crew. I have had my Marines prepairing every shuttle we have for combat. We have two type 9 shuttles that have no armament but have cloaking devices as they are for first contact situations. I have had them rigged for remote operations and fitted with antimatter containment tanks. It will take approximately 5 minutes to prep them for operations as girded bombs. They may not stop this supper ship but they should slow it down by quite a bit.

As the Raven settled into position, directly between the Vesuvius, Challenger, and the on-coming ships, Colonel Traks spoke to the Captain ..
"Sir I have an idea that we should discuss before it is too late." Traks looked the acting Capitan in the eye and nodded toward the ready room.
Once off the Bridge, and in the privacy of the ready room, Torek listened in silence as Traks outlined his thoughts ..
" ...... It will take approximately five minutes to prep them for operations as guided bombs. They may not stop this 'supper' ship, but they should slow it down by quite a bit."
Carl gave what the Colonel had said some thought, then replied.
"OK ...... On point one .. Commodore Reckus has given me Command, that is indisputable, though I am unaware of anyone having a grievance to the appointment. Anyone doing so should, would, I hope speak to me about it .. On point two .. I am fully aware of my, you could say, 'hesitation' in appointing an Acting Executive Officer. But circumstances deem my delay necessary for the time being. I can't ask Mister Marcus, even though the role should, in normal circumstances go to the Chief Operations Officer ... It's no secret that I'm not over-fond of the Marine way of doing things, but I trust, hope, that you will be on-hand to offer advice, and guidance, if you think I should need it James." It was the first time Torek had addressed the Marine by his first name, and he hoped the man understood the significance, "I will get to the appointment of my Acting Exec' as soon as we have some breathing space OK ... Besides, the Admiral may well be fit to resume Command soon, making the issue moot."
"That is true." Traks said, "I believe he is recovering .. albeit slowly."
"Yes he is ......" Carl said, "If that is all Colonel ......"
"It is Captain. I will oversee the rigging of our shuttles." Traks said, turning to leave.
"Thank you .. Colonel." Carl said, as the door closed ..........
