*As Traks motorized in the Shuttle bay he was greeted by the sight of a Runabout rising on an elevator from the maintenance level. Waiting at the main hatch was his Andorian Medic Corporal Tora*
Traks: Who else did the Lieutenant send?
Tora: Well it is more like who did she have to stop from coming, we may be going after a Vulcan but he is a Marine. But she let me bring Sergeant Klurg and Sergeant Solrk.
Traks: OK we have 90 seconds or so to launch get aboard.
*Traks entered the Runabout the USS Ohio and sat in the left seat; the right seat was occupied by his Klingon Sergeant Klurg. As Traks ran through a short preflight the other two members of his team strapped in.*
Traks: Sergeant Solrk keep an open comm link to the Raven, both voice and sensor telemetry. "Traks to bridge Ohio ready to depart" ..Tora as soon as we clear the Raven start scanning for Larok's locater beacon, it might not be active but do not send out a transponder inquiry until we get to within 500K of his last reported position.
<tag Torek>
=^= Take her out now Colonel, we're about to open fire. Keep well clear of our port side as you depart .. Good Luck .. Raven out =^=
*No answers were required as Traks knew his team would only break silence if something required his attention. After departing the shuttle bay and clearing the Ravens shields; Traks turned the Ohio 30 degrees away from the last position of Larok, and went to warp one for 2 seconds. The Ohio dropped out of warp right in the middle of a swarm of fighters. Klug immediately opened fire as Traks made course corrections and jumped in the direction of Larok.*
Klug: I hope the Raven got that temerity; so we can see how fighters we got.
Traks: I will check later and you can paint their solutes on your locker.
Klug: Qapla', Hu Ra;
Traks: Ok Tora , Solrk get your EVA combat armor on in case you have to go out and get him.
Tora/Solrk: Aye Aye Sir;

He closed his eyes, hoping in a vain attempt that this action would make it all go away. Of course this wasn't the case.
"Stand to your feet!" Someone commanded, loudly. He opened his eyes and was greeted by a Starfleet Officer. That he was not expecting.
"Where am I?" He muttered, not entirely sure if the words had come out of his mouth.
"Do not talk!" The Officer snapped, a phaser now being trained on him. "Stand to your feet and place you hands behind your head." Turning away from Luke he talked to another Officer briefly and mentioned the Bridge.
"Do I not even get to put some clothes on?" He asked indignantly.
"Stop talking." Was the reply, the phaser waved half threateningly in his general direction. He was almost certain that weapon would not be fired, something big was going on right now if the noise was anything to go by. He assumed some sort of conflict, but he was sure he was about to find out.
Walking onto the Bridge minutes later, Luke was now certain that he was right in the middle of a combat situation and he was now even more certain that he needed to get out of it. He was done with this game.
He was guided down to where he assumed it was the CO standing and giving orders, she appeared to be a Vulcan Female and on closer inspection... Commodore Sonak. The two had never actually met during their time in Active Service but Luke had heard of her, he hoped that it was not the same for him. If he were to be recognised it could jeapordise getting back to his time, or worse, make Q play his little games all over again. It was at that time that she appeared to notice him and he was sure that he saw her eyes widen slightly in shock when she saw that he was naked. He himself was past the point of feeling awkward about his current situation, however, a pair of trousers wouldn't have gone wrong.
"Get him some clothes," she ordered, as she rose to her feet. "Who are you and what are you doing on my vessel?"
Before he answered, he had to think. She either hadn't recognised him or was a brilliant liar. Either way he should, for the moment, continue with the game that Q had put in place.
"My name is Kleu Gorad. I do not know how I got to be on your vessel nor what your vessel is and why it is you are currently in a conflict. All I know is that I wish not to be involved in it."

Sharon was waiting when a officer stopped in briefly.
"Lieutenant take this, its a communicator, you can contact anyone by tapping it." He said.
Sharon took it and thanked him, she turned to take a seat when she felt the tingle of transport and she was on the bridge of the Challenger, she went straight to her tactical station and it was working.
"Targeting computer slaved to sensors, weapons at full power it's all yours Sharon." James said.
"Colonel, pardon me for being blunt but we are far from being at full power.I would say 20% at best." Sharon said
Then the Captain spoke. "Fire at will Sharon."
They were moving and Sharons fingers flew across the board firing the phase cannons, taking out a few of the unknown enemy ships that were attacking the ships. Shae targeted one heading for Commodore Sonaks right Nacelle and fired obliterating the ship. the sensors were in perfect harmony with the targeting and weapon systems.
"Captain, I don't know what those other weapons that are being used but they are effective." Sharon said.
<Kirk>
Sharon hoped Boots would be ok, she knew he wouldn't be to shocked at seeing her transported luckily he had jumped down before she was transported away.

[limegreen] Eyes narrowing, Saryn firmly held the sword at his side when he saw the Androrian enter. "Sir, the commander is not hurt. He intruded on my practice and into my quarters." He had to fight for control as every fibre of him wanted to attack the blue-skinned intruder.
Quietly, ignoring the phaser that was trained on him, the Vulcan walked over to the couch and slid the sword back into its scabbard. His expression was stony, his tone acid as he spoke again. "I was obeying your captain's orders," he continued, "remaining in my quarters as she requested. Since there is nothing I can do, and apparently I am not allowed to perform my usual duties in her sickbay, as she called it, there is nothing I can do besides tending to my own physical well-being."[/limegreen]
“It is clear to know the understanding from what happened in this room, and like you said he intruded in your quarters and on your practice, I didn’t wish to do the same, only wishing to see what commander biers was up to as I am the first officer aboard the ship I must have fair knowledge about its crew whether or not its believed to be barging in to a crews quarters I heard fighting going on from the other side, when I approached the door, and things being shuffled around the room, so it was upon my suspicion to analyze the situation as I deemed it necessary, and I felt that going into your quarters and quickly stopping the both of you from doing something you might regret, would only be the best of both worlds.” Vander replied as he looked at the vulcan doctor.
“You are also correct, the captain of this ship, commodore sonak did request you to stay in your quarters for the duration of your stay, she felt it necessary for you to do it in these quarters instead of inside the sickbay, I fully understand your bitter anger if you had it, towards that of my race, and that of my actions, but you also understand that you are the vulcan here, who should control these action, I don’t wish to provoke you or cause you any harm or discomfort, and to provide you necessary means of stay and see to it that you are carefully provided means back to your ship once again.” Halthor remarked.
[limegreen] Now, he nodded over to Biers, who had yet to speak and answer the original query of what he wanted. "Your commander entered my quarters without my authorisation, and just now, so did you. I do not recall calling you in." The skin on his right hand turned a pale shade of yellow/green as his grip tightened around the scabbard, an indication he was fighting his anger.
"I feel I am being treated like a prisoner instead of a guest," he added coldly, walking up to the Andorian until they were nearly nose to nose. "I am a doctor, and it is my ship that is in danger too. And only now I was informed that my daughter was injured. Tell me commanders, what was my young daughter doing on your bridge, when she was told to remain in sickbay? Captain Kirk will hear of this." [/limegreen]
“You are not a prisoner aboard the Vesuvius, we only saw the effort of giving you another ship to get onto, until the time was right to repair your challenger, I will speak with Sonak about giving you more time away from your quarters and possibly some time to see ten forward, and time to relax in our gym.” Halthor replied.
[limegreen] His gaze shot back to Halthor, who had put down his phaser as he said he would. He wouldn't trust Andorians, not in his time and certainly not one from the future. "Tell me Andorian," he drawled, "how did Andor join this Federation of yours? Andorians cannot be trusted." [/limegreen]
“Federation consisted of Humans, Vulcans, Andorians, and Tellarites which happened in 2161 after the search for a romulan drone ship. It was in that hope that all parties would seek and allied conglomeration and would seek similarities and part differences and form the federation.” halthor remarked.
[limegreen] Her fingers dug into the armrest of her seat as Minerva took what appeared to be a dive to avoid enemy fire. "Tractor that craft!" she ordered, then tapped her combadge. "Halthor, wherever you are, report to cloaking control. I want my cloaking device back! Recruit whoever you need. Biers, report to the bridge, we may have a prisoner for you to talk to!" [/limegreen]
=/\=Understood, Commodore, Making my way back to the bridge as we speak. Just needed to find Biers and see what he was up to, over and out.=/\= After tapping his badge he nodded to both Saryn and Biers and walked out of the quarters to the turbolift straight to the Bridge.
"Cloak needs fixed?" halthor remarked after walking out of the turbolift and looking at Sonak.

Jonathan had the Mercury section of the Vesuvius swing about to protect the now active Challenger. She was moving slowly, on thrusters only, but she was firing her weapons as if she was a great battleship. Given the status report of all the ships he was surprised she was in the fight at all.
The Mercury on the other hand was faring much better, she ducked and dodged as much of the heavy fire as she could but rounds still found their mark. The vibrations from the closest of the impacts were enough to rattle ones teeth.
“What’s our status?”
“All systems still online, shields down to 73%.”
The Mercury turned about and suddenly more small and highly maneuverable objects danced around the main view screen, “More fighters incoming.”
Kirk saw something he hadn’t seen before; the fighters were bunched together during their approach, “Photon torpedoes, proximity detonation, full spread, maximum yield.”
“Aye sir.”
“Fire.”
Several torpedoes screamed out of the Mercury heading directly for the incoming fighter craft. As they raced across space they began to spread out, and Kirk hoped with any luck he could take down a majority of the fleet because of their hopefully fatal formation.
“C’mon, c’mon, c’mon.” Kirk said out loud as he watched several of the fighter craft peer away from the advancing torpedoes. Then it happened each one of the torpedoes detonated in bright flashes across the screen.
“Good shot.” Kirk congratulated the tactical officer, “Now lets exploit this situation. Load up a full spread of quantum torpedoes.” Jonathan looked on as the Mercury straighten out and headed right for the carrier craft launching the constant fighter wings.

"All modules, fighters and shuttlecraft, attack pattern gamma. Take those vessels out, disable them do NOT destroy them!"
Fox turned to Duke "I hope your attack plan won't destroy the ships, just disable them." he said before he turned to the tactical officer. "Well you heard the captain." Fox said "Lets get this over with."
The module turned to face the incoming ships. "Full impulse." Fox ordered "Target weapons and engines the way Commander McCalister mentioned."
"Aye Sir." was the reponse of both the helmsman and the tactical officer, slowly Discordia started to move. Some of the enemy vessels sheered past the module almost bouncing on its shields. Others came in the line of fire and found themself adrift afterwards.

"Obviously," Sonak replied to Halthor's question, "I want our element of surprise back. Get in contact with Fox on Discordia and Kirk on Mercury, tell them to initiate cloaking device and move through the enemy wave, to attack from within."
The Vulcan turned to face the alien visitor that had appeared on her ship out of nowhere. "You are part of it, whether you like it or not," she told him, "you appeared on my vessel, bereft of decent attire and I can tell you have told me at least one lie already."
She nodded towards Harper. "Take him to the brig," she ordered, "I shall deal with him later. See to it that he is medically examined and fed."
"Yes ma'am," Mark Harper replied, taking some pleasure in the fact of hauling the now clothed intruder off the bridge. "She doesn't like being lied to," he snapped, "and i assure you she won't be any more pleasant if you lie to her again. Vulcans abhore lies and she's no different."
Meanwhile, Sonak keyed in the sequence to contact the Raven. "Commander Torek, does your vessel possess a cloaking device? If yes, activate it and follow Mercury and Discordia's lead. Minerva will remain behind to protect Challenger. You quite possibly have superior firepower, but we do have the maneuvrability on you. Good hunting commander."
She was about to sign off when she remembered something important. "Did you pick up my marine?" she finally asked, then turned to see Biers walk onto the bridge, closely followed by Saryn. "Thank you commander." She signed off before turning towards the two people that were not part of her own crew.
"Commander Biers, I have someone for you to evaluate in the brig and I expect a report on the doctor's evaluation when you are done as well. Doctor Saryn, your daughter is recovering well, you may visit her aboard Raven as soon as the battle quiets down a little, We cannot transport you at present. In the mean time, report to sickbay for duty. You will be escorted by Sergeant L'lana M'Tess."
A huge feline walked up, saluting smartly, then turned bright yellow eyes on the Vulcan. "Follow me doctor. I promise to take good care of you."
Sonak nearly smiled as she saw the older Vulcan flinch, though his expression remained impassive. She could tell he was happy on the one side, but quite annoyed and frustrated on another. "Make certain he does not access systems he has no authorisation to," she emphasized, "detain him if he does. I am doing you a favour doctor, do not betray my trust in you."

...... Colonel Traks vanished from the Bridge, and Raven began her attack ...
Heading directly back toward the massive fleet of enemy vessels. Suddenly, the Bridge began to vibrate .. Very slightly at first, but as the Raven began her turn, the vibration grew in severity, until alarm klaxon's began to sound ...
=^= Bridge .. Engineering .. Sir .. We NEED to come to all stop ! =^=
"Helm .. All stop !" Carl said, watching the closing ships on-screen.
=^= Sir .. Lieutenant Giddion .. Engineering .. It's all the bulk-head plates and access cargo we stowed on the outer hull during the modifications .. Even with inertial dampers at sixty five percent above maximum it's throwing the balance off too much to allow us anything but maneuvering =^=
Carl thumped the arm of the seat in frustration. There was no way they could simply jettison what was now welded to the outer hull, especially as it took hours to put it there in the first place.
"Sir .. Commodore Sonak on Comm." Carl was informed, and nodded to have the Comm opened.
=^= Commander Torek does your vessel possess a cloaking device .. If yes .. Activate it and follow Mercury and Discordia's lead .. Minerva will remain behind to protect Challenger .. You quite possibly have superior firepower .. But we do have the maneuverability on you .. =^=
Torek explained the Raven's situation, along with the fact he was using all his availible power for the idea he had in mind, then informed Sonak of his intentions ..
=^= Good hunting Commander =^= the Commodore replied.
"Have everyone move to inner decks." Torek ordered, "Transfer ALL non-essential power to the shields ... Helm ... Heading two six zero mark zero. Take us away from the battle all possible speed !"
The duty Navigation Officer hesitated for a second, knowing, as did everyone on the ship, that the Raven was running.
No .... Not running, just re-grouping.
"Once they have fired and pass us ......" Torek said, pointing at the on-coming ships, "...... Take inertial dampers off-line, let the ship yaw to port until we present our underside to the battle group, then get people outside burning all they can off our hull !"
He just hoped 'playing dead' worked ..........

The Vesuvius performed a complicated three part ballet as she swerved through the attacking ships. Morgan was really enjoying himself, this was pretty much what he lived for, the slightly mad grin on his lips probably would have unnerved a few people had anyone been able to spare they eyes to see it. Of course he was concentrating on his display. The Minerva was taking some hits but no one had been able to get a continued lock on her so far.
Morgan fought down a laugh as he flipped the ship into a hard banking turn to port which threw off another set of weapon locks, the volley of fire went wide. Morgan's smile broadened for a moment as he directed the ship back towards the Raven.
Morgan heard Sonak giving orders and receiving tactical updates. Most of it wasn't relevant but he did hear that the cloak was gone.
A ball of fire erupted on the view screen, Morgan supressed a wince. He had seen that sort of explosion before, occasionally from the inside. It was never good.
"Who was that!" Sonak called.
"Larok's shuttle. Scanning for lifesigns. One lifesign, Vulcan, found adrift." Morgan did wince as he heard the news, he was relieved that the marine was okay, morgan had seen him fly and had developed respect for the Vulcan SMO based on that.
There were further orders and conversations flying about behind Morgan but he tuned them all out. He had to concentrate on what he was doing. . He force the Minerva into a relative dive that the inertial compensatators couldn't quite keep up with, then again, he was redlining the engines in parts of his manoeuvres and no doubt the engineering department wouldn't be happy with him...
"Get him some clothes," Sonak ordered, "Who are you and what are you doing on my vessel?"
Thant sounded terribly interesting but Morgan was rather busy. It'd be nice to have the cloak back but he was doing pretty well so far. The irritating thing was that the enemy ships were swarming and that made them quite hard to evade all of them. Still, the adrenaline was flowing and he was enjoying himself.
When the cloak resumed function Morgan changed tactics getting as close to the other ships as possible. They couldn't see the Ves that was obvious so he was taking best advantage of that.

* Larok floated among the debris of the battle he examined the telemetry from his fighter right until it's impact on one of the large ships his ship. Less than 2 seconds later his fighters warp core went critical and vaporized two of the attacking ships. This caused two things to happen, one the large ships stooped firing to figure out what happened to their large vessels; two a third wave of fighters were launched to attack the interloping ships.* Larok shut down his emergency transponder as his tricorder showed an approaching ship. Adjusting his suit communications unit to tight band laser and quired the approaching ship:*
Solark: Colonel we are receiving a tight beam laser communication on Federation emergency frequency 3.
Traks: On speakers:
Larok: Major Larok to approaching vessel please identify.
Traks: This is the Runabout Ohio; Major activate your locater beacon and we will transport you aboard.
Solark: Have him sir activating.
*As Larok steeped from the transporter pad the ship was rocked by an explosion.*
Traks: Shields return fire I will put some distance....This is the Runabout Ohio we have picked up Major Larok and we are surrounded by enemy fighters, warp drive is down we are heading back to the Raven at full impulse.
*The crew of the Ohio returned fire as Traks put it through every trick he could think of.*
Larok: It looks as if we are in combat now.
Traks: If that was an attempt at humor, it worked.

Raven Sickbay Numike was scared and she clung to the marine who had tried to reassure her. However she understood the man had his duties to attend to, just like she knew her father had his; he'd come as soon as he could. She remained sat where James pointed she should remain, also knowing that if she deviated from given orders she'd get into severe trouble.
A stranger on a strange ship, Numike didn't quite know what to think of what was going on. She only knew that they were getting shot at, and that her own home was damaged badly. She didn't know where they were, how they got there or why they got there; nobody ever told a child anything, even when she was old enough to try.
"Where's my father?" she asked once more, tugging Raven's chief medical officer at his sleeve, vying for his attention however briefly, "can I go to him now? I want to go home, I don't like it here."
Vesuvius, Minerva (primary module) Saryn had followed the Andorian to the bridge, for now managing to control his innate hatred. The man had shown great courage and honour and had not sought to mistreat him, as many an Andorian would if give the chance. In Saryn's opinion, that showed for something.
"Follow me doctor. I promise to take good care of you."
The Vulcan nearly did a double-take as the man-sized cat approached, then blinked back his surprise. "Yes sir," he answered politely, unable to keep his eyes off the creature, quietly examining it as best as he could without instruments. He'd never seen such a species before and frankly, it disturbed him a little.
Yet, he was finally allowed to do what he did best: heal people and he wasn't going to throw in his own windows by doing something he shouldn't. He bowed slightly towards the Vulcan captain, acknowledging her graciousness with gratitude of his own. Her next words, however had him struggle against surging anger, denoting that she didn't trust him at all.
"Make certain he does not access systems he has no authorisation to," she emphasized, "detain him if he does. I am doing you a favour doctor, do not betray my trust in you."
"I would not compromise the trust you place in my ma'am," he answered stiffly, "not when I am finally able to contribute in the way I can best do that. By providing medical care to those who are in need of it."
The Vulcan walked to the turbolift, the feline in his wake. He turned round once, taking in the view of the busy bridge, wich was several sizes larger than Challenger's bridge. "Ma'am, one more question, if permitted?"
The younger Vulcan nodded, her patience wearing thin.
"Could my daughter be transported back here when there is the opportunity to do so safely? She is six years old and needs my guidance, I would choose not to leave her to her own devices for too long. Also, I would not wish to learn she has resorted to biting people whom she thinks may threaten her. For her safety, and theirs, I urge you to get her back to me as soon as possible."
The feline ushered him into the now waiting car, smiling as she regarded the uncomfortable Vulcan. "She doesn't react well to threats you know."
"It was not a threat, it was a statement of fact," Saryn returned, "do not presume to tell me I do not know how my daughter would respond. Please...sickbay?"
The pair exited at main sickbay, where one of the duty nurses instructed Saryn in the use of a tricorder and biobeds. His access to the medical computer was restricted to need to know.

He just hoped 'playing dead' worked ... His answer wasn't long in coming !
The six enemy ships began a slow circumnavigation of the now dead Raven. They fired several times, hitting minor systems, but doing no great damage. Then suitably convinced the ship was no more threat, moved away.
"Sir .. Colonel Traks reports he was successful in retrieving Major Larok."
"Tell him to head for Vesuvius ... He's not, under any circumstances to return to the Raven, make sure he 'understands' that we're unable to take any further part in the battle at present."
"Aye .. Sir."
Carl hoped that Traks would figure out his ploy to play dead for the moment.
"Helm .. Keep our underside to that enemy fleet. Make any adjustments as smooth and subtle as possible. I don't want anyone taking any notice of us for the next hour. Get everyone who's EVA qualified on the hull." ..........

Solak: Colonel the Raven is damaged and unable to assist we are ordered to head for the Vesuvius.
Traks: Larok take the helm, Solak and Klurg get back there and see if you can get me warp drive back.
*As Traks moved to the science console , Larok sat down at the helm station and Tora moved to the copilot station. Traks fired up the sensor pod and started mapping the battle. Traks also stared looking for the scanning frequency of the enemy fleet; to be able to jam their sensors and targeting systems.*
Larok: Course sir?
Traks: Head for the Challenger and the Vesuvius. Use any evasive tactics you can think of. I would love a cloaking device about now but we will just have to settle for hiding from their sensors.

"Another round of fighters is approaching," Jack reported as he continued to signal the enemy fleet. He knew that they were getting his message, but they were not responding," they will be in firing position in fifty five seconds. Our hull plating has taken a real beating, we won't survive a direct hit."
Everyone on the bridge knew this to be a fact and they only had seconds to come up with a plan that would keep them alive. As Jack tried to conserve more energy to the hull plating he realized that the ship was full of antimatter. Challenger was not going to warp anytime soon, so the loss of the antimatter would not be as dire as usual.
"Captain we could flood the space between us and the enemy fleet with our antimatter and other explosive material," Jack said," it should create a shockwave big enough to at least disable the ships."
"Would we survive the shockwave?" Andy asked knowing that this situation warranted a plan so dangerous.
"I believe so, we'll need the Vesuvius to shield us of the initial blast, but we should survive," Jack said also noting that they could detonate the antimatter manually which would allow them to put as much distance from the fleet as possibe."

Seven waves of fighters attacked the Vesuvius and Challenger, while the Raven worked hard to become flight-worthy ..
But as quickly as the attacks had begun, they ceased ......
The fighters were obviously trying to re-group. they couldn't get through the Federation shields, and finally admitted, that there was, in Human terms, a stalemate ..
"Where's the Ohio ?" Carl said.
"She's heading for Vesuvius Commander."
Carl realized that he already had that information and nodded to the duty Tactical Officer. he checked on how long it was going to take to get the outer hull cleared enough to maneuver, but as he was trying to consider the options, the Comm chimed ..
=^= Sick-bay to Bridge =^=
=^= Bridge =^=
=^= Commander .. There's been a complication with the Admiral .. We've been teating him for the broken collar bone and hair-line fracture of his shoulder blade but there's a problem .. Can you come down here immediately ? =^=
=^= I'm not sure I can do tha ...... =^= Carl began, watching the Vesuvius re-group and ready herself for the next attack.
=^= The Admirals' nano-probes are having some sort of adverse effect on him .. They should be healing his broken bones but they seem to be dormant =^=
=^= So just treat him as you would a normal Human being =^= Torek replied, getting more frustrated by the second.
=^= I DID ! ...... He's gone into a coma ............ =^=
Carl felt a shiver run down his spine ..
=^= I'm on my way ! =^= ..........

“The generators are straining Captain.” Andy heard the Raven’s Chief Engineer through the COM badge.
“How long until they go?”
“I can’t say for certain, but we need to try and regroup with the fleet.”
The fighting had taken Challenger out and away from the fleet, and since Challenger was flying on only thrusters it would take some time for her to get back, “Setting course.” Kirk said.
"Captain we could flood the space between us and the enemy fleet with our antimatter and other explosive material," Jack said," it should create a shockwave big enough to at least disable the ships."
After a few brief questions Andy had made up his mind, “Do it.”
Jack worked quickly moving from station to station to ready the ship for a controlled anti-matter ejection. In the back of Andy’s mind was the thought of matter and anti-matter coming together in the smallest forms just as it was leaving the ship. In that one instant the ship would cease to exist, but desperate times called for desperate measures.
Sections of the Vesuvius crossed in front of Challenger as she made a slow sweeping turn ejecting her anti-matter until there was no more, “We’re empty.” Jack announced.
Andy turned the ship and ran the thrusters up as hard as they would go when suddenly the entire ship went black. Nothing was on, not even the emergency lights, it was the most eerie feeling Andy had ever felt while onboard the Challenger.
“Anybody have a flashlight?” Andy called out and before he could feel around for his own a light clicked on next to him. It was Jack, he knew his station like the back of his hand, and he was ready for all situations.
Challenger rocked and creaked as the fight continued outside, but the real fight was now for their lives. Even with a skeleton crew aboard the NX class ship she could only maintain breathable air for a finite amount of time.
“Lets just hope your little trick is working.” Andy joked as he tryed to release the anxiety he felt building up in his body.

=^= I DID ! ...... He's gone into a coma ............ =^=
Carl felt a shiver run down his spine ..
=^= I'm on my way =^= the Exec' said, jumping from his seat. He turned toward the turbo-lift when the ship was rocked by a massive blast wave ..
"What the hell was that !"
The view-screen began to re-initialize after the auto-shutdown, and Torek could see they were beginning to pitch forward. The duty Helm Officer had noticed too, and had begun to slow the rotation without hopefully attracting the enemies attention.
"Sir .. The Challenger has set off the explosion." Tactical said, "They must have dumped their anti-matter ... They are dead in space now."
=^= Sick-bay to Bridge =^=
=^= Bridge =^=
=^= Sir .. We've managed to stabilize the Admiral .. He's no better but no worse .. He's still unconscious but out of immediate danger =^=
=^= I'll be there shortly .. Keep me apprised .. Torek out =^=
"Can we do anything for the Challenger ?" he continued.
"Not at the moment Commander, I'm pretty sure that if we begin any move toward her we'll be in trouble." the Tactical Officer said.
"Open a channel." Torek ordered, then spoke as he was given confirmation.
=^= Raven to Challenger .. How bad is it ? =^=
Carl took his seat, glancing at the turbo-lift door as he did so. 'Mc would have to wait' he thought, as the Challenger replied ..........

“Commander our fleet is taking a beating!” Joq’Tel heard from across the battle station aboard his massive star fighter launch carrier.
Joq’Tel scanned the scope that was in front of him and his eyes bulged out from his skull. His attack waves has been decimated, while General Thron’s attack fleet was being handled quite successfully buy the strange traitor fleet. Strategic possibilities raced through the Flight Commander’s brain, but each new idea was quickly abandoned as the battlefield was constantly changing. It was this fast movement that Joq’Tel wasn’t used to. Typical Vackall Prime vessels were slow moving, near stationary while in battle, and easy targets for the General’s main guns. These ships however, were large, and maneuverable. Nothing like they had ever seen. They also spoke in a cryptic language that had no discernable origins.
“Sir a communication is coming through from General Thron.”
“Put it on the globe.” Joq’Tel ordered.
With a flash a large 3-D image of General Thron’s head appeared within the confines of a circular area. The image itself wasn’t of the best of quality as the image was light blue and transparent enough to see people moving behind the hologram.
“Order your fleet to stand down Flight Commander. This day is lost and we need to save as much of the fleet as possible. Rendezvous with General Mquin on the far side of the Alterna sector. We’ll rearm and refit there.”
“Aye sir.” Joq’Tel replied not wanting to show signs of weakness in front of his direct superior.
The image of the General vanished, and left the Flight Commander standing alone with laser blasts and fighter aircraft scrambling for a place to land. On the far side of the sector several flashes of light shot out as the General and his fleet had moved to faster than light speeds to escape the deadly fire from the mysterious fleet.
“Move us out of the battlefield and prepare to make the jump to light-“ Joq’Tel started to say but his words were cut off by an abrupt explosion on board the battle station. The shockwave so was powerful that systems all aboard the ship had suddenly gone out, leaving the Vackall rebels without primary power but just enough back up power to continue to move out of the battlefield.
“Our main light speed drive has been hit!” Screamed an engineer.
Joq’Tel rose to his feet and walked briskly to the window nearest the rear of the ship. The largest of the enemy ships was approaching, and it fired its main weapons with deadly accuracy at Joq’Tel’s main engines.
“Open a channel to the enemy fleet. Tell them I wish to negotiate our surrender.”

Things were going from bad to worse; Discordia had done her name honour and lost power to her left nacelle after being the target of a small group of enemy vessels and Torek had just informed her that his CO had been severely injured. On top of that, Challenger had ejected their antimatter, creating a massive explosion that caused havoc among the enemy fleet.
Right now, she had Torek 'on the line' and she faced him with an expression mixed of grief and seriousness. 'Commander Torek, as of right now I appoint you acting Captain of the USS Raven," she stated gravely, "it will be a field commission until we return to our own time or until such time that Admiral MC7of9 is well enough to resume command."
"Captain, I have an incoming transmission from the enemy fleet," the once more on duty Thorad reported.
"Excuse me captain," Sonak told the stunned Torek, "I will keep you tied in with the conversation. Contact Challenger and put them on as well."
The screen split into three, showing both Torek and Kirk, as well as one of the enemy. "You wished to negotiate," she started, "first cease firing on my vessel and the ones accompanying me. I assure you that Raven's firepower will wreak destruction among what is left of your fleet. Additionally, you will power down your weapons to show that you are indeed surrendering and you will transport, alone, aboard my vessel. We have taken one of you prisoner, he is being treated in my sickbay."
Her glare was deadly as she gazed at the alien on the screen. "Captain Torek, Captain Kirk, please meet me in my readyroom. Maintain yellow alert. Discordia and Mercury will maintain red alert for now." She took a deep breath. "However, you are to cease fire, they have surrendered, they are now treated as such. No harm will come to them unless they attack first, understood?"

It had taken a long, agonizing hour to remove everything from the Raven's outer hull. Most was stowed in the now massive space that contained the saucer section of the Challenger.
"Sir, the outer hull is clear, everyone reported inside the ship."
"RIGHT !" Carl said, finally able to do something, "Full Impulse .. Bring us about, head directly for the Challenger."
"Commander .. Commodore Reckus on Comm."
"Put her on screen."
=^= Commander Torek .. As of this star-date I appoint you acting Captain of the USS Raven .. It will be a field Commission until we return to our own time or until such time that Admiral Mc7_of_9 is well enough to resume Command =^=
=^= Captain .. I have an incoming transmission from the enemy fleet =^= Torek heard one of the Vesuvius crew say.
=^= Excuse me captain .. I will keep you tied in with the conversation .. Contact Challenger and put them on as well =^= She informed the stunned Torek.
As Kirk was included, Carl listened to the conversation between the Commodore and the Enemy Commander. Re-assuring the Vackall Commander of his safety, she turned her attention to the Raven and Challenger ..
=^= Captain Torek .. Captain Kirk .. Please meet me in my ready-room .. Maintain yellow alert .. Out =^=
The screen cleared to show the Challenger, slightly below the Raven, along with the still separated sections of Vesuvius taking up protective positions. Carl ordered Raven be moved, positioning the crippled Challenger directly below them, and hopefully, out of harms way should the firing resume, then he got up from the Command seat ..
"Mister Conroy, you have the Bridge ... I will be on the Vesuvius if you need me."
"Aye Com ...... Captain." Conroy said.
Moments later, Carl materialized in the transporter room of the Somma Class vessel.
"Captain Torek." the Transporter Chief said, "Commodore Reckus is waiting for you in her ready room. Captain Kirk will be a few moments."
"Thank you Chief." Carl said, stepping into the corridor, "Computer, directions to Captains ready room please."
"Please follow green indicators." ..........

The conversation happened so quickly that Joq’Tel couldn’t keep up with his translator. He couldn’t see the Captain of the other ship but by the sounds it appeared as if the Captain of the enemy fleet was female, an intriguing fact that didn’t sit well with the Vackall social norms.
“What does it say?” Joq’Tel asked.
“You are to transport to their craft as a prisoner of war, they also say they have one of our own as a prisoner in something she referred to as a ‘sickbay’. I think she means to say a hospital.”
“Agree to their terms,” Joq’Tel said as he walked away, “Ready my shuttle.”

The blacked out Challenger didn’t stop McLean from working. In preparation for such a situation he had packed away several wrist strapped flashlights and began passing them out. He knew the Raven would most likely swallow up the Challenger once again, but for the time being he needed to get back to work and restart the generators to get some of the critical systems back online, such as life support and environmental controls.
The salty engineer didn’t waste any time tackling the several generators in place to keep life support running. It actually only took a few parts form another unit to get it back up and running. Several more units were cannibalized to get emergency lights back online, as well as communication and basic computer functions. She sure wasn’t going to fly or fire any weapons for a very long time, especially after the anti-matter had been dumped.
At this point the Raven’s Chief Engineer had one final plan for the NX class ship, leave her behind and focus on getting everybody home. The Raven had more than enough room to accommodate the Challenger crew, but he knew deep down inside that it would be a tough sell for both Commander Torek, and the ships Captain, Andrew Kirk.
McLean made his way back up to the bridge and found himself watching a slit screen communication with Commodore Reckus, Commander Torek, and an image of the enemy space craft. The Commodore’s requests were straight forward and to the point, and even before there was an option of negotiation the channel was closed.
“Captain.” McLean started.
“I know already.” Andy replied as he turned away from the main view screen. His eyes told the entire story, and it was apparent to McLean that no matter how long somebody is the Captain of a ship, they never forget their roots, especially if one was an engineer first.
“Then I suggest we get off the Challenger and find somewhere to put her until the generators run out, this time for good.”
“Before you do that can you download the ships computer onto one of your PDAs?” Kirk asked.
At first McLean didn’t know what Andy was talking about but when he saw the Captain motion toward the PADD he was holding all the terms fell into place, “Sure.”
“I’ll be on Commodore Reckus’ ship if I’m needed.” Andy informed McLean, his voice distant and defeated.
“Sir,” McLean couldn’t believe what he was just about to tell the Captain from the past, “History doesn’t record the Challenger as being lost. She is to be decommissioned with honors.”
A smile cracks on the beaten Captain’s face, “Thanks.” He replies before walking off the bridge.
McLean’s PADD beeps at him as the database he had began download was complete. The information wasn’t as compressed as he had thought. He smiled as he thought about how much information the Raven’s computer held in comparison to the Challenger. He was now holding in his hand the entire basic components of the NX class, and with that came extremely detailed information on every single part on Challenger, and for the first time McLean felt a glimmer of hope for the old workhorse NX class ship. All he had to do now was convince Commander Torek to allocate precious resources to manufacture key components that the Challenger needed, that and transfer over enough anti-matter to get the warp engines back online.

Sharon did everything physically possible and then some but they were short on power and the ship was taking a beating badly then lights went out, she heard the Captain speak up.
“Anybody have a flashlight?” Andy called out and before he could feel around for his own a light clicked on next to him. It was Jack, he knew his station like the back of his hand, and he was ready for all situations.
Sharon had found one of her own in the compartment underneath her station she tapped a few keys but everything was in the red mostly overloaded after the anti-matter explosion.
"Captain, weapon systems are offline, mostly overloaded from the anti-matter explosion, I hate to say this but we are a sitting duck." Sharon said.
<Kirk>
The communications went off and soon they had a split image of the two commanding officers, one she had met more or less and the other she did not know who he was.

Once the two other captains had joined her in her readyroom, Sonak took a brief moment to note how tired they both looked. As Vulcan, she claimed to need less sleep, being able to go on for days without rest but even she was starting to feel the effects of their situation. "Gentlemen, help yourselves to the replicator," she invited, "a foodprocessor among uses," explaining it for Kirk's benefit.
She seated herself at her desk, leaning forward slightly. "Hopefully this surrender will mean we can actually talk to these people. We do have to remember that we somehow invaded their space and if possible we need to abide by their customs. We must not, however, forget where we come from."
The Vulcan cast her Human counterpart from her own timeline a pointed glance. "Especially you and I, as we are also displaced in time. We should try to avoid compromising the timeline as much as possible, though of course the safety of our people and that of the Challenger come first. We must not forget we are Starfleet officers, above all else."
This time, she turned to Kirk. "I trust that you will keep any information about the future as classified as possible?" At Kirk's nod, she offered a small smile. "In a few minutes, we shall be joined by what I assume to be the captain of this armada that just attacked us. Challenger is badly damaged, Discordia sustained heavy damaged and I believe Raven did not get away unscathed either?"
She looked up when someone knocked on the door. "Enter," she called, wondering why the chime wasn't working. Thorad entered, together with two security officers and an alien. "Ah." She rose to her feet, beckoning the alien to come in, but for security to remain outside. "Welcome to the USS Vesuvius." She cast both captains a questioning look, wondering whether the universal translator would pick up the alien's language quick enough.
"I am Commodore Sonak Reckus, captain of the USS Vesuvius, from the United Federation of Planets. With me are Captain Carl Torek of the USS Raven and Captain Andrew Kirk of NX Challenger." She motioned towards a seat. "I believe we have gotten off on a wrong start. We have been transported here by accident, we come from a galaxy we call The Milky Way."

Joq’Tel felt as if he was dreaming, no it was more of a nightmare for the Vackall rebel Commander. The design, technology, and the people aboard this ship were not Vackall at all, they were in fact aliens, and that proved that his friend and executive officer was indeed correct.
Two of the aliens wearing identical clothes marched him through the curving corridors of the ship until they reached what appeared to Joq’Tel to be the ships battle station. On the battle station more people with similar uniforms seemingly took no notice of Joq’Tel and his alien appearance on their ship. Was it possible they were used to this? He thought as he was again marched to a door that opened as they stepped in front of it.
Joq’Tel stepped into the room, the door closing behind him, “You speak my language but you are not Vackall,” Joq’Tel spoke, as he hadn’t heard anything other than the language. He was shocked, his entire religion had been proven to be a lie all in these few precious moments.
It took only a few moments before the Flight Commander regained his composure, “I am Flight Commander Joq’Tel of the Vackall Prime Rebels Forces. Number 77917981. As the Commander of my ship I will not disclose any information that will aid in the destruction of the rebel cause.” Joq’Tel’s words didn’t make sense as his mind was to in shock to process rationally. He had gone back on his tactical training if captured and his was how his mind was dealing with the high stress situation.
