"We will transfer him to Qualinost; however, Tamir will be transferring with him as we are transferring all medical facilities to the Debrune planet." T’Val informed him, but since Govan’s displeasure at this idea must have been obvious, she continued. "Qualinost is the safest place for him, Major, and he will be well guarded. With myself, Rayna and Tamir present no-one will be able to take a shot at him. He will be safe, trust me."
Rolling his eyes, Major Echal was about to object, but the Vulcan healer glared at him. "Do you think I wish him harm major? Especially after the death of our son? You are sorely mistaken; Ambassador Tedak is one of the closest and dearest friends I have. We may be divorced but we are still quite close. I would not let anything happen to him, trust me. Equally though, he would not allow anything to happen to me, and with Stuart now injured, he may actually insist on getting up."
That had not been even remotely what Govan had been thinking about, but once again before he could speak T’Val sighed and continued once more. "He is a stubborn man, much like every other male on this station. But he is very good at what he does, despite what Vebn may think of him." Nodding towards Tyr across sickbay, she added. "Be wary of that Betazoid major, he is dangerous." And with that, she walked away, leaving the Major behind trying to decide what to do now.
Govan needed no warning about Tyr; however, now the Major found himself in a bit of a predicament, one that would most likely result in completely losing any sort of ground he had gained with T’Val. Major Echal needed to locate a now missing Ambassador Vebn; he also needed to directly ensure Ambassador Tedak’s safety. These could not both be accomplished while following the Vulcan healer’s wishes and moving Tedak to the Qualinost medical facilities; hence his defiance of her orders would most likely burn any bridges built with the woman.
Yet another bridge that would most likely be burned was with Tamir. Govan was beginning to see that Tamir was forming a bond with T’Val, which would probably result in her being less than fully cooperative. Echal was no doctor, or nurse even, and Tedak required medical care, so the Romulan nurses presence was non-negotiable. If she resisted, the Major would need to resort to force and threats, which would be successful but also further frighten the poor girl and ruin any sort of previous attempts at regaining her favor. This just wasn’t his day…
"Prepare the ambassador for transfer to Qualinost.” T’Val instructed Tamir, who glanced nervously over at Govan. His displeasure at the order was clear, and the nurse knew perfectly well what that meant. There was no way he was going to be following that, which put Tamir in a very uncomfortable position, yet another conflict of loyalty. As the Romulan nurse’s eyes followed the retreating form of her new boss, she sighed deeply before glancing back at Major Echal. He was looking directly at her, and there was no mistaking the look… As the towering figure of her fellow Romulan headed in her direction, the fear that leaped into her heart made the decision for her: she would not risk her life by disobeying him.

Accessing the Romulan shuttle’s controls from the remote terminal in sickbay had been a breeze and as soon as the vessel powered up and the transporter controls came online, Govan locked onto Tamir, Tedak, and himself and transported out of sickbay while T’Val and Rayna were busy with Stuart. The Romulan nurse had known it was coming and secured Tedak and her medical kit for transport. As soon as the three Romulans were onboard, Tedak and Tamir in the rear compartment where the Ambassador could be cared for, Major Echal smoothly powered up the engines and guided the small ship out of the bay and into open space, engaging the cloak shortly after reaching a safe distance from the station and then coming to a halt. Where to begin the search for Vebn…?
