The Victory arrived at Conqueror damaged and in mourning for her lost crew and family. Nika had a number of administrative duties to do, in addition to the letters to the families of the deceased. Nika stared into her cup of coffee dully; the nights of fitful sleep were beginning to get to her. It seemed like it had taken longer to get to base than it should have, and every second tore at her as she thought over the past events and how she could have handled things better.
Shortly before the Victory pulled into Conqueror, Commander Davis entered her office to talk with her. He'd come by to confirm his departure. "Good luck," Nika wished him, disappointed to find herself lacking the right words to describe that she wished him well and that he didn't have to leave.
After Commander Davis left, Nika finished the last of the personal condolence letters, which followed too much of the formula for her to feel it expressed an eighth of what it ought to. But Nika found using the formula comforting, to a degree, because it meant she was less likely to leave something important out.
When she'd finished all the letters she had to write, gotten a good chunk of the mission report she'd be handing to command done, showered again, and had lunch, Nika called Lieutenant Colonel Wong into her office.
Still not one for ceremony or stuttering around an issue, Nika didn't say anything before handing Wong his new orders, that he was to take Commander Davis' place as first officer on the Victory. Of course, he knew this was coming, but now it was official. "Congratulations, Colonel," Nika said, waiting for his response.

By the time Tiana had finally woken up from her very long sleep and gotten everything sorted out in the science labs the Victory was back at Conqueror.
Tiana returned to her quarters planning on changing and then getting off ship to spend some time with Russ. She was humming to herself and picking out clothes when she noticed the flicking light on her console indicating that she had a recorded message. Hardly a surprise given the erratic nature of intra-ship comms since M'Quess's actions. She sighed, hoping it wasn't going to be something that delayed her leave, and brought up the message. To her surprise it was Russ's face that appeared on the screen.
"Tiana,I'm sorry to have to say this to you by comm but, I'm heading back home. Family emergency. I don't know when I'll be back. I've resigned as the Victory's First Officer." He visibly swallowed. Clearly fighting back tears. "I hate to do this, I'll probably have all ready gone by the time you get this, sorry for that. I'm going to miss you Tiana. I love you."
The message ended and Tiana fought to hold the tears back. "I love you too Russ." She murmured then carefully saved the message. She'd try to contact Russ on Earth but it would no doubt be tricky. She flopped on to her bed to try to think.

Salek has just finished with the last autopsies on the deceased and just in time too as the Victory had arrived on starbase Conqueror and no doubt shipping arrangements for the bodies to be sent to their families were already arranged. He instructed one of the nurses to release the bodies once she received the proper authorization papers while he took several unknown samples with him to store in stasis until the science labs on the Victory are fixed so that he can run an analysis on them. There were some blood and tissue sample that did not belong to the victims so quite possibly they could be the attackers.
AFter he was done with his work, he changed out of his protective overalls and was back in his standard teal uniform. He deemed it was time to go and see the Captain of this fine vessel. e took the pad which contained his orders and proceeded out of sickbay and towards the nearest turbolift, which luckly was not a long trip as whoever designed the ship anticipated that patients were sometimes injured and could not walk miles from a turbolift to the sickbay. After entering the lift he asked it to go to the bridge. And of course after a short ride he finally reached his destination. As he exited he saw that no senior staff could be found there, but that was perfectly logical after all. They were docked and everybody was tired out and need some REM sleep to rest and recuperate.
As he reached the ready room he chimed the bell and soon heard the words granting him entrance. He entered the room and saw that Colonel Wong was already there. He greeted the captain first and apologized for disturbing her but informed her that he needed to give her his orders and this was the first opportunity he got to do that.
<Tag Nika>
He also informed her that he was done with the autopsies and that he found some unusual blood and tissue samples which did not belong to the victaims but he would need the science labs repaired before he could analyze them and that he could use the assistance of the ship science officer as well.
<Tag Nika>
Then he turned to the COlonel standing next to him and informed him that he needs to report to sickbay for a checkup as he was injured only days ago and quite seriously at that.

Tiberian came smartly to attention and saluted the Captain. This was his second time at getting his foot on the ladder that led upwards, and this time he intended to lash himself to it with ropes of steel. No matter what.
"Thank you for your vote of confidence in appointing me ma'am, I promise I won't let you down" His hand lowered, and he stepped back for a moment, allowing Doctor Salek to make his report. At the mention of his own need for a physical, he flinched slightly. "I'm guessing the priveliges of rank don't include ignoring Doctor's orders" He glanced a pitiful and hopeless look at the Captain, before acknowledging that the Vulcan wouldn't be in on the joke. "I'll report down in an hour or two doctor, there are just one or two matters I need to attend to first"
<TAG Doctor Salek>
With another salute, Tiberian turned and left her ready room, moving out onto the bridge. He could have sworn that the bridge crew came to attention just a little as he left, but he just smiled and shrugged it off, heading for the turbolift. He headed straight for engineering, hoping to speak to Commander Blakus before he departed for the Raven. Alas, as he arrived the former chief was nowhere to be found, although his entire department and then some were still here. He wandered around a little, reminiscing over some of the varying things that had happened here over the last few days. His brief reverie was interrupted by a tap on the shoulder. He turned to see Lieutenant Mattheson, the now acting CEO standing behind him with several padds in his hands. He began pressing them immediately into Tiberian's as he began to talk.
"Sorry sir, but this is the inventory requesition list that we need most urgently if you want us to make good time on repairs. This is a request for additional personnel on the shifts highlighted so that we can keep up with the baseline repair schedule, and this is the departmental report, well, for whatever good it is really. We're stripping down and rebuilding half of the damaged and compromised systems, not to mention trying to patch the mother of all holes in the hull. I wouldn't expect many more comms out of this department short of begging letters and demands"
"Well that's always nice to know" Tiberian grumbled, flicking through the padds "Take this inventory request back, and hand that straight to the Base Operations Chief, at least if it's you and you're in person he can't fob you off with whatever junk he's got lying around next month. And get rid of this departmental report, I don't want to see it until you're not snowed under. And I'll see about drafting in some of the excess from Operations to lend a hand"
The men exchanged nods and went their separate ways, Tiberian quietly cursing the fact that Andae had left before he had even organised the extensive repair work. He missed the Chief for two reasons, one he got his job done, and two Tiberian had learned his capabilities and weaknesses. Now he had to break in a new CEO all over again. He tapped his commbadge.
=/\=Wong to Commander Matthew. Sorry to bother, but I could use a repair schedule for the corrupted computer systems, and a list of any personnel that could be spared to lend engineering a hand within the next twelve to twenty four if you can manage it=/\=
<TAG Commander Matthew>
Deciding to celebrate his now official promotion before he was once again sucked into the vortex that was the administrative duties of an XO. He tapped his commbadge once again.
=/\=Wong to Sergeant Major Martinez, Doctor Abernathy and Commander Galwyn, would you care to join me for a drink in Ten Forward. I think we've all earned it=/\=

Tiana was laying on her bed in silence wondering what she should do now when a voice came over the comm, of course I would be working now...
=/\=Wong to Sergeant Major Martinez, Doctor Abernathy and Commander Galwyn, would you care to join me for a drink in Ten Forward. I think we've all earned it=/\=
Tiana fought down a sigh and growl, she didn't feel at all like being sociable but supposed it was batter than the alternatives. She wondered when she had joined Tiberian's group of friends the other two had arrived with him after all. She tapped her comm badge.
=/\=Be there shortly.=/\=
She forced herself to get up she stared at herself in the mirror, her eyes were a little red rimmed but not too noticeably, she dragged a brush through her hair and for once just braided the front parts back leaving herself with a waist length spill of dark hair entirely unsuitable for a lab but not too unsuitable for getting a drink with friends.
She was still dressed for her shoreleave in loose fitting black trousers and a fitted emerald top. She sighed again staring and her reflection and trying not to cry again. She swallowed the lump her her throat and headed for Ten Forward. She spotted Tiberian and walked over to him.
"Well Colonel, you're looking better than when I last saw you." Tiana said, making herself make the effort at levity. She wasn't going to drag the mood down.

Post by Andae Blakus on Aug 27, 2008 21:23:00 GMT
OOC: Slight Back Post first
IC: Andae's new orders had taken him by surprise, to say the least. He had received his confirmation as the new First Officer of the USS Raven when the Victory had finally arrived back at Spacedock. He had sat there on the couch in his quarters for a while, just reading it, thinking it over and then reading it all over again. It was something he'd pushed for he had to admit, and the message did seem to convey a sense of unconditionality in its request for his services as an XO. He studied every last letter of the message, every syllable, every punctuation mark; he even checked for grammatical errors (the presence of which he knew would be an impossibility).
Eventually, Blakus put the Padd containing the orders down on the coffee table in front of him. He got up and smiled. He decided that while he would miss the Victory, that nothing would please him more but to take the offer. That is what he thought on the surface anyway, whatever his sub-lying consciousness thought of it, he wouldn't find that out easily. Time to tell the Captain... She had doubtless heard but it was only formal, and correct.
"... It has been an honour to serve under you sir, and a privelege." He stepped back and stood straight in front of Captain Cir'Kem who sat at her desk. Blakus gave a small salute and then slowly found himself lowering his hand and offering it to Cir'Kem in a handshake. He felt he needed the shake, something to tie his memories of leaving the ship to. She took the offer; Blakus departed her ready room.
As he boarded the Shuttle that would take him over to the Starbase along with all of his gear, Blakus felt bad that he hadn't helped sort out the repair schedule first and said goodbye to his engineering staff. Unfortunately for him and his former subordinates, it was necessary if he was to be on time for his lift to the place where he would meet with his new ship. He made a mental note - one he could hardly forget - to see about the possibility of taking some of the Victory's engineers with him, or if that wasn't possible, he would be sending them all a subspace message. Lieutenant Holland, his ACEO, had likewise been reassigned and promoted to a full CEO, he would be moving out of the sector.. Blakus had already wished him luck.
Andae stopped by the shuttle entrance before the door was closed by the pilot and took one last look at the interior of the USS Victory. After a brief moment, he smiled and turned away into the shuttle. The craft's engines powered up and the forcefield of the shuttlebay was deactivated, the shuttle lifted off the grey surface and accelerated out into the darkness.
Sat in the co-pilot's seat, Blakus watched how the starfield outside blurred as the pilot sitting next to him rotated the shuttle, it wasn't long before the starbase popped into view. Andae felt a brief force of acceleration as the shuttle was propelled forward in a sudden burst of speed towards the base. He looked at the pilot and frowned. Looking apologetic, the pilot quickly increased the inertial dampeners back up to maximum, "Sorry sir," he said. Flyboy.. Blakus thought but out loud he laughed a little. Then he let out a large sigh, sat back in the seat, and enjoyed the short ride.
In the upper right quarter control panel above Blakus's head was the shuttle's sensors display. On it, it was shown how the Victory's transponder signal began to slowly fade.

Nika nodded to the promise from Tiberian, wondering what the future would bring. She had no doubt that Colonel Wong would step up to the job, but he had a bit of a history with finding trouble, and Nika hadn't forgotten Nack's doubts about him.
She was composing an additional, verbal, reply, when the bell chimed. "Enter," Nika said.
Dr. Salek entered and apologized for disturbing her but handed her his orders. Nika verified them, and listened as Dr. Salek updated her on his autopsy report.
"Of course. I'll ask Commander Galwyn if she can assist once the lab is repaired."
Then Salek turned to Wong to tell to ask him to drop by sickbay, and Wong seemed less than enthused about the idea. "I'm guessing the priveliges of rank don't include ignoring Doctor's orders."
Nika laughed lightly. "Certainly not any rank I'm familiar with," she remarked. Tiberian headed off, already taking on the responsibilities of the new rank, and Nika turned to Dr. Salek before he left. "Speaking of which, let me know when you want me to drop by sickbay for my routine physical."
She allowed Salek to return to his work, and he left only to have Commander Blakus enter the door that was still in the process of closing from him.
Commander Blakus told her of the opportunity he had been offered, and that he was going to accept the offer. Which was good, Nika would have been disappointed if he'd passed up such a chance to take on the additional responsibility she knew he could handle. "...It has been an honour to serve under you sir, and a privelege."
"It's been an honour having you aboard the Victory," Nika said. "Thank you, for all you've done for this ship. Good luck."
Blakus started to salute her, but dropped it in exchange for a handshake. For someone who valued visual formulae more than auditory ones, the handshake was a firm reminder of the trust she'd had to place in her Chief Engineer and had been well rewarded in doing so. She would miss him.

"See that you do Colonel, we can not have our First officer setting a bad example to the rest of the crew regarding there health, can we now?", Salek said making it more a rhetorical question than anything else
"It would be highly illogical", he added
After Colonel Wong departed, Salek stayed a few moments longer with the Captain. They exchanged some more matters regarding the health of the crew and the upcoming physicals.
"I will be sure to inform you once your turn is up Commodore", he said
After that he departed from the ready room and headed down to inspect his new quarters. With everything that has been going on recently he had hardly anytime to catch up on some meditation and this seemed like the perfect opportunity as he could do nothing more while the labs were out of commission. After arriving to his quarters he found them to be suitable and sufficiently spacious for him.
He saw that his bags were delivered and took this chance to unpack. He first removed a few sets of robes and clean uniforms which he placed in the proper drawers. After that he removed his awards and diplomas from the bag. He had them all replicated in paper which was then framed to protect it from damage. Someone might think that having this was showing off, but Salek found it merely as a calming mechanism as people, when they saw them, knew that he knew what he was talking about.
He placed his degree in medicine on the highest shelf in the room, next to it he placed his doctorate in neurosurgery awarded to him by the Vulcan science institute for perfecting the method of regenerating the links in corpus callosum between the right and left hemisphere of the cerebrum. Next he put his doctorate in psychology awarded to him by the Betazoid Institute of Psychology for his book on the Psychological disorders of Federation member species. He also put next to it his degree from Starfleet academy in basic and advanced starfleet operations.
After he was done with placing his belongings onto shelves, he decided to begin his meditation. He changed out of his uniform and placed on of the robes one could see Vulcans usually wear and lowered himself to his knees. He closed his eyes and slowly connected his hands, palm to palm in front of him...

After Dr. Salek left, Nika looked at the roster to determine that Commander Galwyn was off-duty, then she left a message with the Commander regarding Dr. Salek's request for her assistance.
Nika ate dinner in her quarters, not really feeling up to eating out. The events of the last mission had exhausted her, and she hadn't recovered yet, so after eating she read as long as she could before her eyes drooped too much for her to continue.
Nika slept solidly and woke up feeling like she'd overslept. A request to the computer for the time showed that she hadn't, but even with that assurance she felt that she had things to be doing. Making herself relax a little, Nika checked her messages, and was surprised to find something that wasn't from Starfleet. She'd heard from her family recently enough to think that it wouldn't be them, but the message was coming from Firont, without any additional identifying information attached to it, which was odd in itself, but sometimes the Firont technology didn't interact with that of the Federation the way it ought, and information got lost.
The face on the screen when Nika took the message was that of Ambassador Jikli, the person who'd convinced Nika that it was alright to have dreams bigger than the planet she had come from. "Nika," the recorded message began. Jikli was smiling and the smile was genuine as far as she could tell, but Jikli himself looked drained...probably about as drained as Nika herself looked just then.
"I'm sorry I haven't been in touch much. Things get hectic, and I wasn't sure what was socially acceptable in Firont culture. I have the impression that messages should be short and to the point, which I'm capable of doing, but not well." Nika smiled at that, because it was so true. "And I wasn't sure how much of my rambling you'd want, so I didn't really want to bother you just to say hello or congratulations. Speaking of which, congratulations."
Nika wouldn't have minded hearing from Ambassador Jikli more often, but she supposed she hadn't made that very clear in her occasional message to him. "I don't know how much longer I'll be on Firont," he continued, and the strain that had been showing earlier came through much stronger. "It would be nice to return to lengthy conversations about absolutely nothing at all and not be worried about going on too long."
Jikli paused for a second, then made a face. "Actually, I have to worry about that anyway." Nika laughed softly, as on the screen Jikli grew serious. "I thought I should let you know that there's a significant chance that the Federation won't choose to replace me with another ambassador to Firont. Things are fine here, don't worry, but the desire for isolationism is growing among your people, and some of the people above me think it might be a good idea to just let them do that.
"Anyway, I apologize for rambling, but I figure as a Starfleet captain, it's not like you have anything more important to do than listen to me, right?" Jikli grinned at the screen. "Be well, Nika, and keep in touch."
"End of message," the computer announced suddenly.
Nika stared at the screen for a few minutes, considering, before she spoke: "Compose a reply. Send to Ambassador Jikli, on Firont."

"Well Colonel, you're looking better than when I last saw you." Tiana said, walking over to the table in Ten Forward at which Tiberian, Martinez and Katie were sat.
"Well, I'm still needing regular doctor's appointments, one of which I'm avoiding right now, so I'm not as good as I'd like to be" Tiberian joked "But I'll live, which unfortunately goes for Mr M'Qess as well" The mood instantly soured, only altered by a sharp jab to the ribs by Katie.
"Splennic haematoma!" Tiberian exclaimed, rubbing his left hand ribs, a look of mock indignation on his face. Katie stuck her tongue out at him.
"Don't pull that on me, I'm a doctor, and you're fine"
"Well, in that case go and get Commander Galwyn a drink, whatever she wants" Katie left, and a discrete gaze from Tiberian sent Jose after, offering to help her carry the solitary drink. The XO invited Tiana to sit. "Tiana..." He broached the subject with carefully chosen words "I know that there's been some stress lately, what with the events of our previous mission, the particular impact on you and your department, and then there was Commander Davis' departure" He stopped speaking, making no direct statement at what was undoubtedly a delicate, although widely acknowledged and observed situation. "I get that you might feel lonely or angry, or any variety of other emotions right now, and I know that you might not feel you have anyone to talk to. But I'm here, and you can feel free to cry, shout or get drunk with me, whenever you need to. I've never recommended that any crewmember under me take professional counselling before, and I don't intend to start with one of my friends either, so there, do whatever you wnat from here on out"
<TAG Tiana>
Martinez and Katie returned to the table with the solitary drink, and then resumed there own seats and drinks, with Jose raising his glass to propose a toast.
"To the newest XO in the fleet, may it work out better this time than last time"
"Here, here" Tiberian clinked glasses, before a padd was dropped in front of him with a smile be a member of the medical department. He downed the remainder of his scotch before picking it up to read and examine. "Just a crew manifest for the department" He muttered "Nothing that interes..." He suddenly broke off, a small smile coming over his face.
"What is it?" Martinez asked.
"Old friend coming aboard" Tiberian answered, then turning to Tiana "As irony would have it, we were just talking about counsellors. Sorry to love you and leave you, but duties of office" Without further ado or explanation he left the table, leaving the other three to discuss amongst themselves. He walked out of Ten Forward heading for a turbolift, smiling at the crew as they passed him, most either heading for the lounge at the end of a duty shift, for their quarters, or off ship to enjoy the relaxation of the station. Tiberian had noticed that since his promotion a lot more people smiled at him than usual, probably due to his position. People wanted the XO on side more than the homicidal marine, even if the former was indeed the latter. He entered the turbolift, asking for deck five, and hoping that it would drop him near the shuttle maintenance bay, which was being used for a temporary shuttle bay until deck 4 was pretty much inhabitable. Sure enough the tubolift deposited him right by the bay, and he came in just in time to see Federation transport shuttle touch down. He moved over to the opening entrance hatch and waited, coming smartly to attention as Commander Tiffany Rylka came aboard. Despite the fact that he had come up from being the lowly 1st Lieutenant he was when she had first met him, he still felt a pang of loyalty to his first XO.
"Good to have you back with us again Commander, the galaxy keep getting smaller doesn't it"
<TAG Commander Rylka>
"Well seeing as you're here and aboard, you may as well come along with me to sickbay. You need to have your routine physical, I need a check up, and these crewmen will stow you're gear in your quarters" He gestured to two idle crewmen, both of whom immediately ran to the pile of offloaded baggage in a state of sudden shock and terror. "Shall we Commander?"

Well, in that case go and get Commander Galwyn a drink, whatever she wants" Katie left, and a discrete gaze from Tiberian sent Jose after, offering to help her carry the solitary drink. The XO invited Tiana to sit.
Tiana sttled at the table trying to decide what to say next. Tiberian made the decision for her. "Tiana..." He broached the subject with carefully chosen words "I know that there's been some stress lately, what with the events of our previous mission, the particular impact on you and your department, and then there was Commander Davis' departure" He stopped speaking Tiana was sure she had started to blush a little at that point, she wasn't sure how many of the crew knew, obviously more than she had thought. She and Russ had tried to keep things quiet and low key but rumours tended to spread quickly in a enclosed environment like a starship.
"I get that you might feel lonely or angry, or any variety of other emotions right now, and I know that you might not feel you have anyone to talk to. But I'm here, and you can feel free to cry, shout or get drunk with me, whenever you need to. I've never recommended that any crewmember under me take professional counselling before, and I don't intend to start with one of my friends either, so there, do whatever you want from here on out"
Tiana gave a half smile at that, it had been a rough mission all round. "I may well take you up on one or two of those. Don't forget I still have that rifle design to show you."
Martinez and Katie returned to the table with Tiana's pina colada complete with cherry and pinapple on a stick and a bright pink cocktail umbrella. It lightened her mood a little. Tiana was well aware it had not taken two of them to get the drink and appreciated the effort Tiberian had made on her behalf although she admitted to herself that as he was replacing Russ she was going to have an issue or two to work though.
"To the newest XO in the fleet, may it work out better this time than last time" Martinez announced the toast.
"Here, here" Tiberian said. All of them clinked glasses.
Someone dropped a PADD in Tiberian's lap at that point and he read it and then had to dash to meet a new crew member. Tiana sat at the table with Martinez and Katie and the silence stretched for a while before the three of them started talking. Tiana had not really met Katie having been fortunate enough to not need to spend too long in sickbay since her arrival and while she had seen Martinez around she had not really talked to him. Tiana chatted and probably drank a bit more than was really good for her but she needed the tension relief.

The docking vestibule beckoned for the Denobulan. He peered through the door-hatchway that would soon be opened, to allow him passage to his new ship. Yet another, new ship. The small window allowed him a limited view of the tube inside, but not enough too..... Gheskori had to step back suddenly as the hatchway swung open. A smile and a slight blush came to his face as he was nearly hit, although no one was around to see it anyway. Ghes, as he liked to be called by friends (which included everyone he met, whom did not want to kill him of course), made his way into the vestibule and traversed its short distance to the USS Victory-C.
He sighed as he got aboard and looked around. It was a mixture of emotions that had provoked his reaction: happiness, tiredness (which was unusual and surprising for/to a Denobulan) and a slight tinge of weariness, maybe. It was his second ship in as many months. The unnamed Nova class ship that was to be his first posting as a staff member (he was to be the Science officer) had had the finishing touches of its construction put on hold. The disappearance of Captain Luke Drago and the shortages elsewhere in the Fleet had brought about the decision made by the brass to reassign all of the Nova class ship's senior staff.
So the Victory was Ghes's new ship. He knew very little of it, only that was of an older design than most in Starfleet's current fleet. Therefore it was less able in combat and yet it was a squadron flagship, Gheskori understood. Still, the older and more venerable a ship... Ghes mused. He found himself admiring Starfleet for valuing reputation over tactical capability.
Gheskori's assigned position was Helm officer, Chief of Navigations. It was hardly his first choice, but he was a very capable pilot, having had years of experience in all the fields of life. Besides, being on the bridge at the helm, could have its... social opportunities. No matter the hour, there were always people on the bridge. The Denobulan had, occasionally, felt lonely in his science lab on the unnamed Nova vessel. It had been bare, little scientific equipment had been moved in and he had only got to know one or two of his staff in his brief time aboard. There was certainly a lot to look forward to in this new position...
After finding his quarters and settling in, Gheskori went to report to the ship's Captain, Commodore Cir'Kem. He arrived at her ready room, chimed the bell after taking a few cursory glances around the bridge and returning the smiles that came his way. He was permitted to enter and with a broad grin on his face strode in and handed the Commodore his transfer information, in the form of a PADD. "Lieutenant Junior Grade Gheskori, helm officer, reporting for duty sir." He said.
<Tag Cir'Kem>
After reporting to the Captain he headed to the mess hall, to see who or what he could find. It turned out that there were not very many present in the mess hall. Ghes assumed that they were all off the ship taking their shore leave, still though, he understood that the ship was undergoing repairs.. he expected someone to be around. There were two tables occupied, one person sat at one table, seemingly deep in work as he studied a PADD. Three people sat at the other. Two of them were blue-collared Starfleet officers, the third looked to be from the UFP Marine Core. That is something at least...
Ghes headed over and introduced himself. His interest was piqued by what looked to be a fairly high-ranked blue uniformed female officer. He dragged a chair over from a nearby table and sat in it opposite the high ranking female officer. "Are you by any chance the Chief science officer?" He asked with interest. It would be interesting to get to know the CScO of the Victory.

Tiffani had been back on starbase for a few days waiting for arrival of the Victory, she was pleased to hear it had arrived finally for it's repairs, she was waiting for the doors of the shuttle bay hatch to open when she spotted a former crew member of hers standing there waiting to great, she smiled slightly when she noticed his pips and new status as she approached him.
"Good to have you back with us again Commander, the galaxy keep getting smaller doesn't it"
*Indeed it does, by the way congrats on the promotion to Xo* She stated as the two talked
<Tag Wong>
*sounds like a good plan to me, as some time though i do need to get a bite to eat, been to nervous about coming back on the victory to eat much of anything,* They continued to talk as they made their way to sickbay

Scene: STARBASE CONQUEROR “Cmdr Matthew Quarters Deck 12 Room 220 west “
“The next morning, James woke up to his alarm, set to 0530 hours. He splashed some cold water on his face, then put on his Star fleet regulation Physical Training gear (gray shorts and t-shirt bearing the Operations insignia ) and his running shoes, attached his combadge to his shirt, and headed out of his quarters.
“He headed to the far ring of the station and began his regular half hour run. He got some odd looks from people he passed, but he was used to it. In the over-technologies 24th century society, few people were serious about physical fitness anymore.
“At precisely 0605, Cmdr Matthew jogged back into his quarters, dumped his exercise clothes into the cleaning unit, and showered and dressed quickly, in to his uniform and boots. “
“He ordered up a breakfast of scrambled eggs with Bacon and onions, Sourdough Bagel with cream cheese and a large mug of coffee. From 0615 to 0635, he ate his breakfast and viewed the news channels, after which he grabbed his Computer PADD and slipped it into his briefcase.”
“Cmdr Matthew walked out the door at 0637, and arrived at Ship Yard offices at 0655, found a seat in the Dock Master office There was at less eighteen or more officers sitting around waiting to see the Dock Master lucky for Matthew he had a early Appointment to see Captain T’Pal The Dock Master and the man that will Approve the Victory repair Schedule “

Tiana, Katie and Martinez were still chatting, suddenly Tiana looked up to see that a Denobulan lieutenant was in the process of dragging a chair over to join them
"Are you by any chance the Chief science officer?"
Tiana nodded, it took her a degree of effort to focus on the newcomer "That's me. Tiana Galwyn, pleased to meet you. This is Katie Abernathy one of the Victory's medical officers and Sergeant Major Martinez. Are you joining us on the Victory?" Tiana was aware that she was being a bit louder and chattier than normal but she didn't care.

"That's me. Tiana Galwyn, pleased to meet you. This is Katie Abernathy one of the Victory's medical officers and Sergeant Major Martinez. Are you joining us on the Victory?"
"Yes indeed," Gheskori said with a grin. "I am the ship's new helmsman, or rather helms-Denobulan, if you wish to be species specific." Gheskori noticed the marine named Martinez raise his eyebrow. Ghes was about to ask him what was the matter but his eyes, and his nose, were drawn towards the small drink-glass in front of the marine, it contained a clear, brown-ish liquid that looked suspiciously alcoholic.
The Denobulan's face lit up. "Fascinating aroma," he said and sniffed, "May I?"
Martinez looked at Ghes with incredulity, as if he was about to vehemently decline. "Sure, go ahead. I can always get another one," he said though.
Delighted at the marines hospitality Ghes picked up the small shot glass and downed the scotch whisky in one, much to the amusement of the trio at the table. He registered how the science officer laughed particularly loudly. "Most pleasurable!" he said brightly and smiled again, very broadly. "May I have another?"
"The bar," grunted Martinez. "Get me one while you're up there, will you?"
"Certainly," Ghes said, and stood up, "Commander Galwyn, can I get you something?" He asked her, completely oblivious to her steadily increasing level of inebriation.

Tiana was smiling at the behaviour of the new helms-Denobulan but then Denobulans were normally rather enthusiastic people. She laughed as he downed a half glass of scotch. She had never developed a taste for the stuff, too sweet toothed probably.
"Commander Galwyn, can I get you something?" He asked her
"Please call me Tiana, we're off duty. And thank-you I'll have..." She paused as she weighed up the pros and cons of another pina colada, there was one with about a centimetre left in the glass in front of her all ready. In the end she decided against it. "... a pineapple juice please."
Tiana had tried getting really drunk while depressed before and it didn't help. Well it had made her feel a bit better for a couple of hours but it hadn't been worth it.

Tiberian led his former XO, chatting animatedly through the now largely deserted corridors of the ship to sickbay. The majority of the crew had deserted the ship, lest those from Operations and Engineering who had been ordered to remain drag them back into the vortex that was the repair work. The security and marine personnel had absolutely no reason to stay on duty and so had been released onto the base, with those science staff without any projects running following suite. Only a sparse medical staff remained, with only the dedicated and those with boring lives choosing to remain on duty. They rounded a corner and approached the entrance to sickbay.
"Once we're done here I'll see about getting you that bite to eat Commander, some of us were having a bit of a sit down in Ten Forward, and you're more than welcome to join. It might actually be good to get to meet some of the new crew. Only me, the Commodore and Commander Matthew are here from the old days"
<TAG Commander Rylka>
They entered sickbay, and Tiberian gestured to one of the nurses he was vaguely familiar with, hopping onto a biobed and offering his arm.
"Let's get this over with" He said as both the nurse and Doctor Salek approached "I just need a checkup, and this is the new ships counsellor Commander Rylka, one of the old warhorses. She'll need a full medical, and then you two should probably schedule some meeting time to discuss any mutual patients, and to get to know each other"
<TAG Commander Rylka and Doctor Salek>
Tiberian loitered around sickbay once his examination was done, waiting for the doctor and counsellor to finish what was undoubtedly their mutual assessments of each other. When all that was done he led the old/new counsellor out of sickbay and to the tubolift, heading up to deck ten. They disembarked and entered Ten Forward, with those at the table nodding and smiling at them as they approached. He noticed a fairly conspicuous Denobulan in a red uniform also present within the crowd with whom he was completely unfamiliar. Undoubtedly it was one of the new transfers, as he had failed to read the complete list, having discarded it upon finding that Rylka was coming aboard.
"Ladies and gentlemen, this is our counsellor Commander Rylka, a former incumbent of my position. Please treat her with the same respect you would treat m..." He rethought his statement "On second thoughts, treat her with a better amount of respect than you would treat me" He smiled. "And I don't believe we have been introduced Lieutenant, I'm Colonel Wong the XO, which department are you with?"
<TAG Lieutenant Gheskori>
"In that case welcome aboard Mr Gheskori" Tiberian nodded curtly "But do us all a favour, don't have too many more of those before trying to drive us out of dock, I've only just ordered the paint work to be done" It was if the fates had heard him.
=/\=Commander Matthew to Colonel Wong=/\=
=/\=This is Wong, go ahead=/\= He said listening to Matthew's report of his very successful endeavour to get his hands on all that the Victory needed. =/\=You're to be commended Commander, I don't think I could have got half of that stuff myself. Alright, I'll wait in cargo bay one to receive the supplies and categorise them, but could you take over supply and demand in engineering, make sure that the priority repairs get their supplies first. Everyone is going to be on your back trying to get what their department wants first, can you manage it?=/\=
<TAG Commander Matthew>
"Come on Jose" he gestured to his Sergeant Major "If I have to lug cargo containers instead of drinking, so do you" There was a great deal of mumbling as the older man left his untouched drink on the table, and stood to accompany Tiberian out of the door.
"Nice new lot" Tiberian observed randomly as they strolled along the corridor "Shame about Blakus, but bigger and better things I suppose" He caught a glimpse of his Sergeant Major's glower as they walked. "You disagree?"
"I think the Denobulan is as green as grass" he muttered "And I have a feeling he'll be getting on my nerves"
"Well try not to let him" Tiberian pleaded "I'm going to try and go one month without ending up in the brig, so why don't you focus all that raw energy on helping me with that"
They entered the cargobay only to be greeted with a number of large dematerialising containers and a gaggle of confused Operations personnel, running around and trying frantically to sort out everything for one department or the other.
"Great" Tiberian chuntered, then calling out to the crowd and moving into the fray.

Nika gave up temporarily on the message to Ambassador Jickli after her third sentence caused her to peter out, not sure of what she could or should say. She figured she'd let the idea simmer for a while, she doubted there was any immediate need for her to reply, nothing she could say to either side would affect the situation.
Taking the break, she welcomed formally the two new crew members aboard. She had yet to receive Lieutenant Gheskori's official orders, but she'd received notice that they would be coming, so that was enough. She had a brief snack in the ready room, before she continued the report of the theft of the Captain's yacht.
It was a complicated mess, and she needed to sort it out. She didn't care much about the loss of the yacht because the Victory had shuttles, but there was a ton of paperwork that needed to be done, probably sooner rather than later. And she was spending a lot of time thinking over her actions and analyzing what she could have done better.
Nika was tired, and the notification that she'd gotten a promotion hadn't really helped. It didn't really give her the feeling that she'd done well, as she clearly hadn't, since she'd just had to bury several members of her crew, and she still didn't know any more about the reasons for them being targeted. She had some hope that Dr. Salek would be able to help in that matter, but she wasn't relying on it.

Tiana had had more to drink than was really good for her, she knew that but she still wasn't expecting her reaction when Tiberian returned with a new although apparently returning counsellor.
"Ladies and gentlemen, this is our counsellor Commander Rylka, a former incumbent of my position. Please treat her with the same respect you would treat m..." He rethought his statement "On second thoughts, treat her with a better amount of respect than you would treat me" Tiberian smiled.
Tiana gave a small smile that required all together too much effort. Russ hadn't been gone that long and he had all ready been comprehensively replace. That hurt. Tiana wanted him to come back, now she wondered if he could. She wanted to like Commander Rylka but she had issues trusting counsellors, Russ excepted. She made polite comments for a short while longer and downed her pineapple juice in two gulps.
"Excuse me," Tiana said, "I really have to go and get some things sorted out." She left ten-forward in a hurry hoping that no one noticed the tears beginning to form in her eyes. She was safely back in her quarters before the tears started to fall.

"Please call me Tiana, we're off duty. And thank-you I'll have... a pineapple juice please."
Ghes nodded, "Pineapple.. I've heard of that. I may try it myself actually. Thank you Commander Tiana." Ghes grinned and made his way to the bar. "Two glasses of pineapple juice and two more of whatever was in here, please" the Denobulan said to the attending barman. He placed the empty whisky tumbler on the bar-top.
The barman picked it up, tentatively sniffed and seemed to give a reaction of distaste, even disgust. "Oh right," he muttered, turning away. Once they had been made up, Ghes carried the drinks back to the table and stopped when he saw that there were two new arrivals. One was a marine, dressed in much the same way as Sergeant Major Martinez. The other was dressed in the same Life Science Division uniform as Lieutenant Abernathy and Commander Galwyn.
The marine saw Ghes approach and spoke to him once he'd put the drinks down.
".. I don't believe we have been introduced Lieutenant, I'm Colonel Wong the XO, which department are you with?"
"Greetings Colonel Wong, sir. I am with the Navigations department. I'll be piloting this fine vessel on her next voyage."
"In that case welcome aboard Mr Gheskori" Tiberian nodded, "But do us all a favour, don't have too many more of those before trying to drive us out of dock, I've only just ordered the paint work to be done"
Ghes smiled at the Victory's XO, only mildly distracted by the rapid departure of Commander Galwyn that then took place. "I will try not to sir, but I cannot guarantee it," he said to Wong.
The Colonel looked mystified, but his coming response was interrupted by his commbadge. The XO answered the call and then departed the room, taking his marine with him.
"Do not worry, Colonel!" Ghes called out to him as he made his way from the room. "Denobulans have remarkable metabolism, and highly efficient immune systems. I can guarantee that all will be fine, barring some unforeseen disaster... I am quite an adept pilot despite my scientific background. Farewell for now Colonel and Sergeant Major." He grinned at both of them one last time and then turned back to the table, now occupied by just Lieutenant Abernathy and Commander Rylka.

Scene USS VICTORY Repaired Deck 4
“ Cmdr Matthew had been making some final checks on the repaired Sections on Deck Four when he was summoned to the Xo's office. Hitting the chimes and told to enter, Col Wong said, "You want to see me Col ?"
"Yes I did. I just had a meeting with our new Chief Helm officer A Denobulan" He handed him the jacket on Lieutenant junior Grade Gheskori “
“Cmdr Matthew looked over the PADD with the info about the new CNO. "Looks like a good man, I see he a trained Science officer as well as a Qualified Navigation officer having a officer who cross Trained in more then one Department is always a plus " he said.
"Cmdr Matthew Well I have good News the old Girl is once again Back in one piece I just Check the repaired Sections on Deck Four the Ship yard repair teams Did a Great job to look at her now you would Never know she had so much Major Damage Before ‘
“Cmdr Matthew we did Have a power fluctuations Reported By Engineering after a Level one System Check it was Determine to be the result of several interconnected issues; first, the power distribution system was balanced for standard underway operations, so the absence of some peripheral and backup systems caused significant power surges and dropouts across the network .not Being A engineer am Guessing a Little “
“I have directed Assistant Chief Engineer Masterson to monitor power demands closely, and to manage power distribution carefully in accordance with those demands. Second, the surges and dropouts were causing component damage in some power distribution nodes, which caused further imbalances as the surges and dropouts cascaded across the network.
“ Col. Wong Leaning backwards, as he grabbed a mug of coffee, "That's what's been bothering me. I don't know how long Starfleet are going to let sit in port. What's your opinion of our readiness?"
"Cmdr Matthew , I think she's as ready as she can be. With a ship there is always a unexpected problem that pops up but our engineers should be able to handle it. As for the rest of the ship the crew seems ready for what's ahead of them. If there's any bugs we'll work them out along the way, Matthew said with confidence you Can Tell the Commodore Her Ship is ready to get underway on her orders
" Col Wong Very well, I I will pass that vote of confidence on to The Commodore we should be receive some more new officers and Crewman on board Later Today well that all Commander “
Cmdr Matthew Any news on what out Next mission will be .?
