Dr. Malley sat at his desk, enjoying a Tim Horton's Classic Blend Coffee a Canadian blend that was hidden amongst the replicator files. He was so immersed in entering a log of his own, that he didn't even hear Dr. Parker come in. He almost jumped out of his chair, spilling his coffee, and causing the counsellor to overreact as well.
"Doctor!" Malley almost shouted. "Doctor!" Parker smiled back.
"What can I do for you?" Malley asked, curious what he would be doing up at that hour. "Oh nothing, Doctor, I was contemplating bedtime, and decided to go for a walk." he replied.
The doctor could definitely relate to that, they had arrived at the El-Sal at almost the same time, and he too was likely looking forward to a more consistent schedule of operations. Things had been quite busy, and he was looking forward to becoming more acquainted with the staff and crew. He nodded.
"It would be nice to see our Captain and First Officer taking regular duty shifts." he smiled, coyly.
A trained counsellor, Dr. Parker saw straight through this obvious facade, but played up to it anyway.
"I agree, I have to remember to speak to her, make sure she knows that I'm there for her too." he commented.
Malley nodded. Just as any crewmember needed a person to turn to, so too would the Captain. The Counsellor was well prepared to handle his own "baggage" but Malley presumed that the offer was if not accepted, at least appreciated.
"I see, " he replied "I was hoping to discuss a possible duty shift with you as well." "Oh?" Parker replied, very curious. "I was looking over your records, as I have been trying to familiarise myself with the crew, and it came to my attention that you are a Starfleet Qualified Medic. I was hoping you would take on a shift in sickbay, perhaps once or twice per cycle?" Malley explained.

OOC: Terribly sorry for my lack of input, it's just been incredibly hectic for the holidays here, and my uncle just got back from over a year in Iraq, so family's been coming out of the woodwork to welcome him home in person. If I have to chew my own legs off to do it, I'll make a post by tomorrow night at the latest. Thanks for your patience everyone.

Shortly after coming aboard, Saevalis found herself striding the dark grey corridors of one of Starfleet's most ambitious starship designs, the Prometheus class vessel. As they left the transporter room, Parsons led the way, "Miss Saevalis, if you'll follow me I'll show you to your guest quarters."
Saevalis turned to face the Tac/Sec bowing her head slightly in gratitude, "I thank you Commander, but my purpose here is to be of potential use to your Captain, and to do so it would be most prudent for me to attend her on the bridge. Unless of course you feel it will disturb the efficiency of the bridge."
Parsons smiled and shook his head, "Not at all. I'm sure Captain Irae would benefit from having you on hand for advice."
Saevalis bowed her head again and the two returned to the El Salvador bridge, to see the Captain steadfastly observing the situation from a standing position behind her chair, leaning on the back slightly with her hands. Kevin Zimmerman was hard at work at his science console researching his theory regarding the method of transport involved in the theft.
Parsons walked up to the Captain's center area and came to Starfleet attention, "Captain, Initiate Saevalis has been brought aboard and is ready to offer assistance."
Captain Irae blinked as though she'd been focussing on something else, and turned to regard first her Tac/Sec, then the young vulcan female behind him, nodding at Parsons she spoke to Savot's sister, "Welcome aboard th' El Salvador, Miss Saevalis. We met briefly durin' yer brother's operation, an' I'm sorry t' say the circumstances of this meetin' are nae much improved. We will retrieve the stolen katras, of that ye 'ave my word an' that of Starfleet. Speakin' of the operation, ye gave a good deal of blood to aid yer brother, are ye sure yer up to this kind of exertion so soon afterwards?"
Saevalis bowed her head in gratitude for her compassion, lips turning upwards a minute degree much as her brother had been seen doing every so often, and replied, "I thank you for your concern Captain, but given my comparatively recent addition to the Temple's ranks the possibility of my being an Isolationist infiltrator is lower than most others. Additionally, there would be little logic in my pursuing a mission if I felt my condition could potentially endanger its success. This is too vastly important a situation to allow personal pride to overrule the most rational course to success."
Irae smiled and closed her lips tightly in wonder for a moment, it sounded so much like what her right hand vulcan would say, "I couldnae agree more Miss, glad t' have ye. We may have a lead already. Tis possible the bandits have nae left the system. The absence of any discairnable engine trails has us believin' they may be hidin' in the shadow of the planet, nae quite cloaked, but specifically designed to avoid pickin' up and reflectin' light. Powered down enough, that's better'n bein' cloaked in some ways. My Science chief there, Lt. Commander Kevin Zimmerman, be tryin' t' pinpoint their location as we speak."
Saevalis raised her eyebrows as she took in the information, then gestured towards Kevin's station before walking toward it, "If you'll permit me, Captain. My technical skills are not as honed as my brother's, but I may have a potentially successful suggestion. Commander Zimmerman, though the vessel may not be cloaked, one method of detecting a cloaked vessel may be applicable in this case as well. Though no light will reflect off the surface if it is correctly coated, it still takes up space. The galaxy is called a vacuum, but as we know this is not entirely true. Space is filled with particles distributed by what Terrans refer to as the Big Bang. A ship, invisible or not, would take up space, and register as a complete lack of these space particles. It may even be possible to blanket the shadow area of the planet's orbit with a wide dispersal of non-lethal radiation or other energy, to assist in this method of location."
Zimmerman thought about it as she spoke, and nodded slightly as she finished her idea. Spinning in his chair he faced the Captain, "It stands a pretty decent chance of working Captain, I'll get to work on it right away."
Irae nodded firmly, glad to have an affirmative plan in motion, turning to sit in her center seat, she addressed the helm, "Mr. Whillis, show me what ye can do an' bring us around to the shadowed region of Vulcan's orbit. Mr. Hope, coordinate with any ground sensors upon the planet surface an' have them help in filterin' out our scanners' results."
With a chorus, "Aye, Captain", the crew set about trying to locate the hidden ship of thieves, if it was even still there at all...

"Mr. Hope, coordinate with any ground sensors upon the planet surface an' have them help in filterin' out our scanners' results."
"Aye, Captain" was the only thing that could be heard right after the Captain had stopped speaking. Ethan did as he was told and immediately activated all the sensors on the ship. Most of them would be scanning other things, but right now they were needed elsewhere. So Ethan directed them to scan on the dark side of the planet.
Yet let the Captain had ordered he would need the ground sensors on the planet. Vulcan did have one of the best ground sensor networks in the Federation which would be able to help him out immensly.
So Ethan sent out a ever lasting loop from ship sensors to the ground and the ground to the ship. If the First Officer's sister was correct then the sensors would tell us if there is a ship out there.
This of course would take some time since the planet's dark side was immense and the ship could be as little as a shuttlepod.
"Captain our sensor network is currently working along side the planets, we will find them shortly," Ethan reported as he went back to work and hopefully refine the scanners so that it would take less time to retrieve the katras.

"Sir, I've got the data on how the katras might have left the temple," said Kevin. "I believe the theives may have used an interdimensional transporter. Although the nuclear-powered device allows one to move at high speeds and to escape sensors, its end result is fatal internal damage. If you only used it once or twice, you might be okay. I wouldn't want to risk it, but these people could have felt pressed to use it. Its the only way I think they could have fooled scanners and gotten out of the temple so fast."
"Well done, Mr. Zimmerman. Can you track it?" asked Captain Irae.
"Negative," said Kevin. "At least, no one I know has ever done it before. You see, the problem with trying to track it is the high speed at which the device functions."
"I have never heard of a way to track it either," put in Saevalis.
"Well, that can't be helped, I suppose," said Irae. "But at least it explains how they got away so quickly. Carry on."
"Yes, sir," nodded Kevin. "I've got a route planned that Mr. Whillis can follow. If Saevalis's idea works - and it should - then we'll find them if they're there. I've checked how far they could have gotten before we would sense their engines, either at high impulse or warp. Our flight plen run an extra five thousand kilometers past that, so we can't miss them."
"But hasn't Ensign Hope already been in touch with them?" asked Captain Irae. "Can't we scan them from here?"
"We could," admitted Kevin, "but the chance is greater if we remain here that we could miss something, and the search will take longer. We would still be close enough to Vulcan if we needed to rush back here."

ooc: once again sorry for lack of posts, will keep up in the future, it is short, but I wil make bigger ones in the future.
IC:
Jack had taken some time to explore the ship before he had gotten to the bridge. He had found his quarters and secured his belongings and had taken the time to check for any personal messages, which he was suprised not to have recieved any. After doing all this he decided to go asume his station on the bridge.
He entered the bridge and relieved the officer at his station and took his seat just intime to recieve his orders. He entered the course and engaged the engines. It did not take long to get there and once he was at his destination, he turned in his seat to look at the captain.
"We have arrived at the Coordinates, Ma'am," he said and turned back to his console.

Doctor Malley was working at his desk, doing some research on T'bozanchilli Flu when he received the reminder about Lt. Whillis' forthcoming appointment. He sent the Lt a message, reminding him, and that reminded him to ask Doctor Parker about the duty shift they had discussed several days earlier.
Malley sent him a message because he wasn't in his office.
=view= Doctor Parker,
I am writing you, hoping that you would be able to meet with me at some point during the week to discuss this again with you.
Regards, Doctor Malley =view=

*The nacells of the El Salvador flicker and the impulse burst carries us swiftly around the orbit. Not warp speeds by any means, we dont need to go that far. Deis nods back at her science officer* Initiate full scans Mr. Zimmerman. *then muttering to herself more quiet* Find th [word deleted]. *She stays in her seat and out of the way for now, waiting with the tension of the bridge as Whillis brings us around, slowing to a quarter impulse at her word* Slow us a bit aye. good man. *The scans run through area upon area and come up with nothing. or rather they come up with a great deal of the minute particles that fill every inch of space. even the vacuume of space isnt entirely empty. The chimes of the scanners go off when it finds the lack of any of that. To the sensors they go from picking up filled emptiness...to full emptiness. Which, scientifically speaking, is impossible in space.* *Zimmerman pipes up* Got it Captain! *then he proceeds to give out coordinates as we whip around the planets dayside* *Deis snaps her head Jackwards and says* Mr. Whillis move us t those coordinates! *she barely realizes the man is JUST getting to his seat, a captains problem maybe, she just expected him to be there.* Mr. Parsons. Phasers, disable tha Cloak, make us see her. *she seems to be enjoying this suddenly* Red alert, shields up. *The lights on the bridge give that characteristic drop into shadowed scarlet and the consoles brighten up considerably. Its as though the room fades into the viewer a bit. As the sleek form of the El Salvador swings into position, phaserfire lashes out to strike the ship, just lightly* *Rather unexpectadly off to the port side of the newly revealed traderclass ship there suddenly uncloaks something rather beautiful, at least to Deis view...shes never seen a ship like that. There is a... circular. ...something that rotates. Its just quite striking to the eye. It dosent shoot at us...it swoops down swiftly towards the tradership. About then the consoles would light up picking up transport beams from the unidentified redship. Deis isnt sure who says it* Captain, picking up transporter fields...theyre going to warp! *and then like BAM! The redship buffets the whole area, its odd nacells bursting forth and the ship is gone.* *Deis almost shouts at someone to follow them NOW!! but Zimmerman manages to speak first and says, his scans still going* Captain, lifesigns on the trader vessel! *Deis looks around at him and is almost gritting her teeth...but she manages to get out* Shields *Parsons reports* Theyre down Captain. *WHy would they leave someone behind. Dosent matter Deis groaningly thinks to herself* Arrigh Zimmerman track tha warp trail. Were goin after em as soon as we got these in custody. *She stands up and turns around looking at her Chief Tactical man* Mr. Parsons. Take ye a security team onto tha ship. Go armed, anyone ye find aboard, take into custody. *The ship dosent appear to have sufficient crew on it to drive it anywhere...it just hangs there like a plum waiting to be picked...only in space* (Off. CMO Malley was in his office finishing up research on Tbozinchili Flu when the lights in Sickbay changed to Red Alert mode. He automatically lept into action; calling Doctor Rogers to take over Sickbay. He ordered his head nurse to update Dr. Rogers on the current status of Sickbay, and inform her that he was headed to the bridge. On his way towards the turbolift, he tapped his comm badge and informed the Captain that he would be on his way up. *Deis almost shouts at someone to follow them NOW!! but Zimmerman manages to speak first and says, his scans still going* Captain, lifesigns on the trader vessel!
Malley: "Captain. Doctor Rogers is on call in Sickbay while I'm here." Irae: "Understood." Malley: "I believe it would be prudent to join the away mission. I've been keeping an eye on things, from Sickbay and from what I've seen someone may be hurt; possibly killed over there. *She stands up and turns around looking at her Chief Tactical man* Mr. Parsons. "Lt. Com. Zimmerman, I was wondering if there was any luck on finding that ship yet?" asked Nokomis.
Kevin's head whipped around. He hadn't heard her come in. "No, not yet, but we're getting close to the end of the scan, so-" his console started beeing. After a quick check, he reported, "Got it Captain!" and told Whillis the coordinates, which he was already punching in.
After enemy ship goes to warp...
"Captain," announced Kevin," there are lifesigns on the trader vessel!
"Shields," asked Irae.
"Theyre down, Captain," said Parsons.
"Arrigh Zimmerman track tha warp trail. Were goin after em as soon as we got these in custody." ordered Irae.
Kevin didn't like tracking warp ships. And if they didn't finish up with this trade ship soon, they were going to lose those people and the katras. "Sir," he said, "I recommend we leave in fifteen minutes, tops. If that ship that just left changes direction very much at all, it will be difficult to follow. Fifteen minutes is pushing it. We could leave the Mini-Sal here to deal with the trade ship if we needed more time here..."

*Zimmerman then pipes up with a rather important note*
*Deis slides down into her seat again and nods* Righ then. *speaking loudly to all* Away team ye heard th man. 15 minutes, then be back on this ship. Make yer sweeps quick. Transport everyone alive. Move people, clock be tickin.
*She nods for Nokomis to take Parsons position at the Tactical console. As the young Lt steps into place Deis looks back at the viewer. She hopes there arnt any more suprises with this damn tradership. As things are she wouldnt mind blowing the thing out of space completly. But thats not exactly regulation. She wishes that Savot were onboard and spares a momentary glance to his sister, who had been standing quietly near the Science consoles. The woman nods to her...some communication seems to pass from one to the other, but its left unshared with the rest of the bridge.*
*As the away team gets moving Deis rubs fingers on one of her temples looking disgruntled, saying* Well Nokomis...ye can downgrade us t yellow alert fer now. I dinnae think this will take long.

With a nod, the away team was off to the transporter room. Eight seconds after they heard "Energise" they arrived at the transport location. Immediately, the Doctor's fears were confirmed. Four feet infront of them to the left, right and dead ahead were three bodies, and it didn't take a tricorder to inform him that they were dead.
He tagged each of them with a necrotic transponder, and they were beamed via cargobay two to the morgue. The team proceeded to where the other five were located by sensors. The element of surprise would irrelevant, of course, if they were all corpses.
The doors behind which the Vulcan members were located, opened with a whoosh, and again it was similar carnage. Three of the Vulcans had been manually disembodied, and one Vulcan was having his hands full with the fourth.
Cmdr. Parsons fired on the attacking Vulcan, knocking him unconcious. They transported the the corpses to the morgue, and the two semi-survivors back to Sickbay with a full security detail trying to look busy while the doctors did their work. Malley glanced up at the wall clock.
"8 minutes," he said.
"Not bad at all" Parsons smiled. The rest of the Away Team returned to the Bridge to report, and soon they were after the Warp Ship.
It is not my intention to step on toes here, but I figured this might help keep things going. Adam! This is especially true of you, if you have anything at all to add, just post it, and i'll change my post accordingly[/b]

OFF: Not at all, nice work Doc.
ON: Having returned to the El Sal with the away team, the security detail escorted the Doctor to sickbay. Parsons assigned a compliment to the sickbay to ensure the safety of the sickbay personnel and dismissed the rest to their stations.
"Doctor, if you need anything from security, let me know." The CTSO then headed out the door to the bridge to give a full report. On the way he tapped his combadge, "Captain, Parsons here, we may resume our pursuit of the other ship. I will give a full report when I reach the bridge."
"Understood," replied the CO.
Commander Parsons entered the bridge, approached the Captain and gave a full report. "...and then we returned to the ship. No casualties on our end. The Doc is working on the survivors now and I have assigned a security detail to sickbay. No sign of the Katras. I will contact the Vulcans about dispatching a tow ship."
Parsons then joined Nokomis at the security station and sent a subspace message to Vulcan updating them on the new course and heading of the El Salvador and the location of the drifting trader class vessel.

LOCATION: Sickbay "Doctor, if you need anything from security, let me know." Parsons said on his way out.
Malley nodded, and turned to Doctor Rogers, informing him that he would perform the autopsies immediately as timing was of the essence, while Doctor Rogers would perform Emergency Medical Procedures intended to stabilise the critical patients.
Doctor Rogers hoped there would be no further need of extraneous security personelle. He already felt like he was in a M*A*S*H. Starfleet Protocol declared that "in cases where there are dead members of a given party, and homocide is suspected. Security detail is posted two on either side of each sickbay exit, two outside of the morgue, and at least one individual within sickbay."
Doctor Rogers was relatively uncomfortable treating patients with somewhere upwards of ten security staff all within a second's travel time. However he had to put such discomfort aside, and attend to the needs of his patients, while Doctor Malley performed the aforementioned autopsies.
Subject One is a stun-victim, and otherwise stable to begin with; therefore triage declared that Subject Two would be first in line. Subject two had her arms broken approximately midway between each joint, as well as a minor fracture of her T4 + T5 discs. She was slipping in and out of consciousness, and appeared to be greatly distressed.
Doctor Rogers ordered treatment to stabilise her blood pressure, secondary treatment would be to aide in reproduction of cupriglobular network. Sedative was authorised to reduce the apparent level of discomfort, either due to the broken limbs, or the presence racing around inside her head. Prognosis was determined to be grim, however Doctor Rogers believed that with the aide of Doctor Malley she could be stabilised. Her recovery would be in the hands of Cmdr. Savot's sister.
Subject One was recovering as expected, however upon regaining consciousness he made a declaration that was in Golic, and willfully expired himself on the table.
LOCATION: Morgue Irae: "The Vulcans have consented to have you perform the autopsy, using Vulcan protocols." Malley: "Understood, thank you Captain. I will report to you when I am finished." Irae: "Understood"
Doctor Malley made it his habit to always perform autopsies with two dieners to assist. It was custom in the field of pathology to make a declaration before proceeding:
Malley - "Hic locus est ubi mors gaudet succurrere vitae" Malley - "Translation This is the place where death rejoices to teach those who live."
The Sickbay Computer performed a basic scan of the bodies before they proceeded, and was set to read out and record all measurements, and notations. Using a medical hypospanner, he cut the standard "Y" shaped incision from shoulders to mid-chest and downward toward the pubic region. The computer was able to perform a Cupric Image Analysis (Vulcan MRI) on the brain, and so there was no need to open the skull cavities.
There was little blood, not only because the bodies were so badly damaged, but such blood would have been kept to a minimum due to the cautorisation (sp.) effect of the hypospanner.
As the procedure started in the abdominal cavity, the intestines were removed, weighed and sent to the pathology lab. The major solid organs (heart, lungs, kidney, liver, spleen) are removed, weighed, bi-sected and scanned seperately.
Doctor Malley was intending to head towards the minor organs when his first diener's scans revealed abnormal levels of a serotonin-compatible nature in the Vulcan's heart and indeed kidneys. This was indicative of a forced mind-meld. The scans of the brains of all three would find the same conclusion. These Vulcans were destroyed telekinetically (mind-meld contact.)
By abiding Vulcan customs, once the causes and manner of death were determined, the procedure was stopped, and the remaining organs and tissues were replaced, and the Dermal regenerator was used to repair the incisions.
Chief Medical Officer's Log: Pathology Report The procedure went as intended, and all efforts were made to abide by Vulcan protocol. The Vulcan High Command was informed that they were long-dead before we arrived, and so no Katrark procedure was initiated. Identification will take place upon return to Vulcan, and the bodies will then be interred to the custody of the High Command.
Patient One Manner of Death: Subject's right arm was removed, and neck was snapped twice at diverging angles. Cause of Death: Trauma due to synaptic failure during a forced mind-meld.
Patient Two Manner of Death: Subjects legs were broken, and head was removed. Cause of Death: Decapitation; Trauma due to synaptic failure during a forced mind-meld.
Patient Three Manner of Death: Subjects bones were systematically destroyed. Cause of Death: Trauma due to synaptic failure during a forced mind-meld.
Assistant Chief Medical Officer's Log: Patient Report Assessment of the two patients dictated, that as a minor stun victim, the life of subject two was in a much more grave state. After two hours of laborious effort, Subject Two was stabilised, however she is in a coma. Subject One awoke approximately thirty minutes into the proceedings, and commited Synaptic Suicide, a radical procedure that most telekines are capable of.
Patient One Manner of Death: Succomed to Stun Wound. Cause of Death: Synaptic Deconstructive Suicide.
Patient Two Status: Stabilised, in a coma. Location: Recovery, private room. CMO and Vulcan personelle access only; security detail posted.

As the Vulcans dispatched a towing vessel, Kevin spoke up, "Captain, I have the trail. Relaying course and heading to Mr. Whillis."
"Very Good Commander. Lt. Whillis, lay in a course and engage at pursuit speed," said the Captain, turning her attention toward the new Conn officer.
Within seconds the El Sal was on a course that would allow the ship to close in on the unidentified enemy vessel. Parsons began active tactical scans.

OFF: Apologies to everyone for the lengthiness of this mission ending, I've been busy getting settled back into this new college semester and the Captain has had various things occupying her time as well. We've been conferring about the mission and are both working to drive it towards its completion, so please bear with us, as I'm sure everyone will enjoy themselves much more when everything's gotten settled and we all get the chance to meet each other as a crew in-character once we get this current mission finished. Once again I appreciate everyone's patience thus far, and ask that you give us just a little more as we propel things into the home stretch. Thank you.
ON: U.S.S. El Salvador B, Bridge
As the dark red ship leapt into and out of the system, faces were painted with confusion on the bridge while the boarding party had gone aboard the abandoned freighter and returned with some possible sources of information, but no actual katras. As they leapt into warp following the trail left behind by the ship, Zimmerman brought a replay of the other ship's flyby onto the viewscreen, pausing it on a centered image of the ship, "Captain... that ship looks like a Vulcan design. Definitely not current, it looks like the mainstream class of vessel used by the Vulcan fleets just prior to and during the unveiling of the NX class Starfleet vessels."
Deis squinted a bit at the picture, then nodded slowly, "Aye, me own concentration in th' Academy didnae linger for long on historical ship design, but I do remember seein' the like in passing. Miss Saevalis, do any such vessels remain in active duty?"
Saevalis, who had moved closer to just in front of the viewscreen on the right side, shook her head as she leaned in closely to look at some parts of the ship more intently, "Negative, Captain. Your science officer is correct, this class of ship was utilized mainly prior to the field testing of your then-fledgling Starfleet's NX class vessels. However, judging by this image I believe it is a newly constructed vessel, not a relic."
Captain Irae, taking to Saevalis as easily as she would another certain Vulcan, leaned forward in her chair in interest, "Explain."
The young vulcan female extended her hand to point out 5 distinct areas on the surface of the vessel, "These points, and likely others out of this current view, denote areas where the hull construction differs from the original design. Logically, this was done to provide for the inclusion of modern technology within an apparition of an older Vulcan design... a design used before Humans were truly included into Vulcan life."
Parsons, who sat at the Tactical console actively monitoring the area for readings of their intended prey, caught this line of discussion and spoke up for a moment, "Which would make it the perfect figurehead vessel for the Isolationist movement, all of whom want to go back to the time before Vulcans had contact with offworlders..."
"I'll be damned... if those [word deleted] 'ave the resources not only t' build such a beastie, but t' keep tha' construction a secret, there's no way we can allow 'em to solidify their power base by gettin' hold of the knowledge in the katras... 'specially this Sudoc", Irae frowned with both lips and brows as she stewed this line of thinking over in her mind, and she tried to push her beloved ship through the vastness of space even faster by sheer force of will...

OFF: This is actually Zimmerman's post, but I'm posting it as his computer is still having issues with the s47 site.
ON:
I'll be damned... if those [word deleted] 'ave the resources not only t' build such a beastie, but t' keep tha' construction a secret, there's no way we can allow 'em to solidify their power base by gettin' hold of the knowledge in the katras... 'specially this Sudoc," said Irae. "Maybe they went to the Romulans to get their ship built," suggested Kevin. "Isn't the popular opinion there that Vulcans and Romulans shouldn't unify?" "There are all sorts of perspectives which individuals hold on Romulus," stated Saevalis. "It would be very difficult to determine the popular consensus. However, your theory may be correct. The ship would be difficult to construct inside the Federation without drawing attention. If the Isolationists paid for a ship built quietly in the Romulan Empire, it would not be noted in Federation space. It is also unlikely many in the Romulan Empire would know of its construction if the Isolationists had enough money and influence to keep their project hidden from public view." "I just put that in because its where we seem to be headed," said Kevin, rather intimidated by Savot's sister. He had little experience with Romulans, and not too much with Vulcans either, so this was new territory for him. It made him a little uneasy. "At our current speed of warp nine, we will catch them just before the neutral zone. I should add that they are only moving at warp 8.85. It is possible they will increase their speed. If they do, we will need to increase ours, and we can only increase ours so much. Past warp 9.5, as you probably already know, we have a limited amount of time we can stay at that speed."

"Malley to bridge" the doctor called, rather frantically.
"Doctor?" she asked hesitantly.
What he was about to say would change the nature of ship security for the remainder of the mission.
"Doctor Rogers asked me to double check on his findings with regards to our sole survivor. He was concerned at the level of apparent "discomfort" that she was experiencing. I took a scan of her, and found that she has recently undergone a combination of Kohl-Ozhika-nahr to purge her emotions similar to the T'san s'at only much more intense, and brief. Her serotonin hormone levels are spiking, confirming with no doubt in my mind that she is absolutely ... a romulan." he reported.

"That explains a lot," Parsons muttered. "Captain, I recommend increasing speed to Warp 9.5 now. The farther from the Neutral Zone we are when we engage them, the better. I also recommend we go to red alert and notify Starfleet in case the Romulans send any ships to assist the thieves."
TAG: Captain Irae
The CTSO ordered security teams on standby and began running tactical simulations.

Planet Vulcan, Academy Quarter of Ta'Vistar City, Primary Medical Facility: As Doctor T'Leshka finished her reviewal of the daily medical reports, other surgeries that had been performed by the other doctors on station, receiving of medical supply shipments through the shuttleport cargo system, etc., a vulcan male of above-average age walked up to her, bowing slightly in deferrence to her position as hospital administrator. "Your pardon, Administrator, but is it acceptable for me to check the equipment and connection modules of Surgery 4 in preparation for its next use?" The aged vulcan woman looked to the older man, his wrinkled face and head the only parts of him visible through his medical technician's suit. Giving a single downward nod of her head, she gave her approval, knowing her son would not only fail to be disturbed, but would more than likely offer to assist the elder male with the work. Receiving her wordless response, the male bowed slightly again and walked down the corridor to the room where Savot was still being held for recovery... ********************************** Savot had been attempting for the past several hours to access Starfleet computer records and perform a search on the current status of the El Salvador. If he couldn't go back aboard just yet, due to what he felt was over-cautiousness on the part of his mother, he at least wanted to keep abreast of their status. He was curious as to why there had been no contact from Captain Irae since his waking, as he knew she had been present during the surgery, being able to sense her presence through the slight bond that was the inevitable side effect of melding with a person multiple times. He had presumed the El Salvador's only reason for being in the Vulcan system was to procure the needed amount of vulcan blood for the operation, and when she knew he had woken from the surgery he had expected Deis would have requested his return to the ship so they could leave for their next assignment. Logic suggested Starfleet would not simply allow one of its most advanced starships to float idly in space for very long. Deciding to try that roundabout method of obtaining the data he sought, Savot connected with the main Starfleet computer banks within the Embassy, requesting a readout of the assignments of all starships within communication range. Scrolls of hired civilian transports and merchant-marine cargo liners filled over 2 pages, some scientific vessels passing through at the extreme edge of sensor range showed their routine assignments... Strange... the El Salvador's current mission assignment is listed as classified. Savot thought to himself. Starfleet wouldn't post such an ominous mission label for something as relatively routine as a medical diversion. Giving up on that for the moment, he reviewed the records of his surgical procedure, looking for one name in particular... yes there it was. His sister, Saevalis, had indeed been brought in to supply the necessary compatible blood. He then ran a check on the current hospital patients being held for recovery/observation... and raised a brow when he failed to find her still in the hospital. Indeed, it seemed she had been allowed to discharge herself immediately after the procedure. That truly was irregular. The only reason their mother would have held him while releasing his sister would be if Saevalis' specific skills were in serious need somewhere, and with her main focus being her initiate work within the Monastery... The two mysteries were beginning to converge in Savot's mind, and he vehemently disliked his current lack of full information. However, it was obvious that his own dischargement from the hospital was imperative, no matter his mother's opinion on the situation. He may not be in top physical form, but he was certainly well enough to offer his service as First Officer to his Captain. His thought was followed by the whoosh of his door opening, and he turned towards it, expecting to see his mother and insist upon his release. However, he saw an elder vulcan male instead, garbed in med tech's clothing and carrying a bag, likely to perform routine maintenance checks upon the room's equipment. Nodding to his elder, he turned to return to his work at the computer console. The med technician set his bag on the floor by the wall, bending toward it with his back towards Savot. Opening the bag, one could tell that the inside was lined to prevent a penetrative scan... From within the protected bag, the tech pulled an old-model molecular disruptor pistol, holding it tightly in his right hand as he stood, his left reaching up and tapping the panels to lock the door to the room..... Savot, as people of the 20th century were able to equate numbers on a telephone pad with their respective chime, was able to discern the lock command from the specific order of commands entered into the door panel behind him. Raising an eyebrow as he moved, he grabbed the now-empty surgical tools tray in his right hand as he whirled to face the would-be technician once again, just barely hurling the metallic slab towards the older vulcan before the man had lined up his shot with the disruptor. Although Savot's ranged proficiency is lackluster compared to most Tactical specialists, the large size of both his weapon and his target, specifically the pistol-arm of his attacker, worked to his advantage. With a metallic clang, the tray struck the man's arm, the back end tapping against the weapon just hard enough to send it sliding across the floor under the biobed. Good, out of reach for either of them now... Savot carefully circled the man, getting closer in intervals almost indiscernible, but closer he was indeed getting. The assassin, having lost his intended weapon, slipped an elongated scalpel out of his right sleeve with his left hand. Savot knew not to be overconfident regarding the relative smallness of the new weapon; a knowledgable being could know over 2 dozens places where a 1-inch incision could instantly kill, dozens more that would cause incapacitation so effectively that it might as well be called fatal. "You have betrayed our people. Signing the pact with the Terran's Federation and exposing ourself to the uncleanliness of alien minds is like unto committing genocide against your fellow vulcans, as the true, pure form of our race has indeed been driven to the brink of extinction. Your death will serve as the perfect symbol to our cause. 'A Vulcan who serves Starfleet', killed without hesitation just as we have killed other beings who have hindered our restoration as a race. Your death will serve as a catalyst for ethnic purification." Leading with his right side, as it was the strongest at the moment, Savot continued to move in calmly towards the assassin waiting for him to make his move, attempting to goad the fanatic into sloppiness. "You are unlikely to succeed. This plan demonstrates a lack of proper planning on the part of your organization. You would have done better to have arranged a quiet accident during my operation, as the exact response of people en masse can never be precisely predicted. Should it not have flowed as you hoped, you could then have distanced your cause from the death, allowing it to be publically dismissed as an accident that happened to a patient already in risk of death", Savot continued to circle as he spoke, inching closer and closer with every sentence. He may be recovering from a grievous injury, but melee combat of many forms both armed and unarmed had taken up a vast quantity of the decades of Savot's life. As the man lunged with his left arm, Savot slid his left foot backwards, pivotting along his right foot. This manuevered most of his vulnerable flesh out of the way, and allowed him to snap his right hand down on the wrist that held the scalpel, first pushing it down and away from his body then yanking it back upwards, exerting pressure with his thumb upon the nerves of the lower wrist to force the fingers to release the blade. The clink of the scalpel hitting the floor was only momentarily pleasant; however, as the assassin was not a poor combatant himself, and countered with a knee strike to Savot's lower stomach, doubling him over slightly. Having read the medical report on Savot's operation, the assassin having actually been a medical technician in reality in preparation for such a moment of usefulness to his cause, the attacker knew where to strike, and did, bringing his hand down in a chopping motion right on the area of the now-fading entrance wound, driving Savot to the floor with a groan. Savot's vision went blurry for a moment, but his discipline both physical and mental allowed him to focus, rolling onto his back on the floor, allowing his right palm to strike out forcefully against the side of the assassin's left knee, snapping it just enough out of place to bring the older man's body crashing down to the floor with Savot. Both men were hurt, and both reverted to the tactic with the highest probability of success at their disposal, the nerve pinch. Each man's left hand caught his opponent's right as they both tried to push their way towards each other's neck. Unfortunately, Savot's left arm was currently weaker than the attackers, and as such he was losing ground on the defensive more rapidly than he was gaining it on the offensive. Taking a deep breath to cover the slight rearing back of his head, Savot then slammed his forehead forward shattering his opponent's nose, creating the customary moment of painful blindness and instinctive releasing of muscle tension. Using this opening Savot completed his neck pinch, crumpling the attacker unconscious on the cold floor... Breathing deeply, he slowly brought himself back to the standing position, holding his left side, just in time for T'Leshka to enter the room, meaning to inquire as to the tech's progress. Upon entering and seeing the spectacle before her, she barely raised a brow as she just instantly flowed into her duty, immediately scanning Savot and then the attacker for any dangerous wounds. Savot looked into the still-open bag near the door, pulling out a datapadd... with a Starfleet file on it, and an attached notation. After you eliminate the Federation's slave, rendevous with the Purification and deliver these codes to them. This file contains the current command codes for every Starfleet vessel that has uplinked to the Embassy computer within the past 3 months. The codes of the battlecruiser currently invading our sovereign space have already been hand-delivered by one of the recovered transport crew. If fleeing is unsuccessful, Purification will rend the Federation cancer from the flesh of our collective Vulcanian body. DO NOT allow this document to be discovered, even if it should require your own destruction to prevent it... Savot's face was more serious than usual as his eyes rose from the document, "We must contact the El Salvador immediately. Captain Irae and the others are in grave danger." T'Leshka narrowed her eyes slightly, as though something she had heard earlier was piecing together now, "There is a signal jamming phenomenon currently in place around the local space. We will need to leave the affected radius in order to get a communication through." *********************************** Gathering up the now-prisoner and his bag, T'Leshka and Savot both went to Commander Hodges at the embassy to procure a vessel. Upon reading the information, as both T'Leshka and her son felt that Hodges could be trusted as an ally, the embassy commander's face fell, his eyes shutting in frustration, "Every ship docked has been fully shut-down to maintain containment during the investigation of the theft. The only one that's prepared to leave immediately is a small speedcraft. Basically a cross between a runabout and a fighter craft, doesn't even carry a subspace transceiver capable of transmitting out-system. We're gonna have to fly right up beside them before we can warn the El Sal. Follow me, I'll take you." ********************************* Upon reaching the craft, Savot held out his hand as Hodges started to board, "I respect your willingness to aid us, Commander, but someone trustworthy is required to stay here. It is obvious from this message that someone with Embassy access is a traitor, and they must not be allowed to roam unchecked. We shall return as soon as we are able." Hodges reluctantly nodded, seeing the wisdom in the plan, and went to the hangar control room to open the doors and drop the shield for Savot and his mother to leave. As they cleared the doors and moved to clear space so they could warp after El Salvador, T'Leshka ran an internal regenerator over Savot's shoulderblade area, "Fortunately this is simple enough so as not to necessitate further surgery. It is precisely this sort of strain upon my patient that I was attempting to avoid." Bowing his head at a tilt, Savot spoke as though apologetically, "I shall endeavour to sidestep assassination attempts in the future, Mother." This response from her son caused the elder female to raise her left brow, "I was not aware, my son, that you had gained a grasp of Terran humor." Blinking his eyes, Savot looked to the floor a moment as he considered his statement, then nodded slightly, "Nor was I, Mother. Nor was I." OFF: Sorry for the hideous length, had a lot of stuff to tie up in preparation for the finale. Captain should have her own addition up in a day or two.

Within seconds the El Sal was on a course that would allow the ship to close in on the unidentified enemy vessel. Jack continued to monitor the systems on his board as they aproached the other ship. He was still thinking of that other craft that they had left behind. It was defintately an older class of vulcan ship. Jack was a history buff, and loved reading about the older stile ships. While earth ships had not changed much in the course of history, he knew vulcans had changed their style to resemble that of earths. They had switched from the single circular Warp nacell to the dual configuration that has become quite popular in the galaxy.
A beeb registered from his bored and he looked over his shoulder. "We are aproaching the vessel ma'am.
ooc:You may have already reached the vessel, but I am out of time, I will do more more often now, i promise.
