The El Salvador was at rest, docked at Starbase Assailant to transfer the captured pirates over to their Starfleet Intelligence contigent. Following the capture of the ringleader they had rendevoused with the tug that had been sent to reign in the disabled pirate vessels and had escorted them back to Assailant for investigation and salvaging.
The prisoners had been off-loaded with little delay and the El Salvador's crew was just preparing to depart when a message came through from the Assailant. Furrowing her brows in confusion in a manner similar to that of her First Officer, Captain Irae nodded for the message to be put through, "On screen."
The face of Admiral Magellan, the commander of the First Fleet to which the El Salvador belonged, appeared on the main viewer. Giving a nod of greeting the Admiral spoke with little preamble, =^= Captain, it's good I caught you before you left. We've got a potentially disastrous situation brewing in a nearby system. A small Federation research base on the planet Urthesmus has inadvertently stumbled upon something that could shatter the current relations between the Federation and the Klingon Empire. =^=
Deis' eyes widened slightly as she took in the dire news, =^= We'll set a course and leave right away Admiral. =^= But she halted her preparations to order their departure when she saw the Admiral shake his head.
=^= I'm afraid that won't be possible Captain. It's your medical expertise we need at Urthesmus, and we can't afford to divert a Prometheus class for the duration of this thing. You're to board the medical vessel Hippocrates berthed at starboard bay 14 for immediate departure to Urthesmus. Effective immediately Commander Savot is promoted to Acting-Captain in your absence. Due to the sensitive nature of the situation I'm afraid further briefing will have to wait until you're aboard the Hippocrates. I'm sorry to spring this on you so suddenly Captain, but believe me when I say it wasn't my idea. =^=, indeed punctuating the seriousness of the situation, the Admiral's image immediately blanked off the viewer without the friendly exit that was customary for the Trill officer.
Deis just blinked at the viewscreen for a moment, and then shook her head sharply from side to side to refocus herself after the shock, "Um... right then." Blinking her eyes tightly one last time to get herself in gear she turned to her second in command and nodded, "Commander Savot, I stand relieved. The ship is yers." She turned and took in the rest of the bridge crew in a sweeping glance, "All of ye, give th' Commander yer best. I'll be wantin' me ship back in one piece." Attempting to put some small amount of levity on the situation she left her people with that statement and an Irish grin, then gave everyone a firm nod of farewell as the turbolift doors swallowed her towards her emergency summons...
***************************************
Less than 8 minutes later the Captain had packed a duffel and departed the ship to board the Hippocrates, and the remaining crew of the El Salvador were somewhat taken aback. Commander Savot, having been on the bridge since the communication from the Admiral, stood in front of the Captain's chair and hit the intraship comms button, =^= Attention all hands, this is Commander Savot. Due to an unforeseen emergency Starfleet has been required to temporarily divert Captain Irae to another assignment of unknown duration. I have been given command of the El Salvador in her absence. In order to facilitate the continuance of fluid operation, I am appointing Commander Parsons as Acting First Officer in my place. We will carry out the assignments we receive as though the Captain were still among us as indeed the state of the ship upon her return will reflect our level of committment during her absence. I have no doubts as to the uninterrupted quality of your performance, Savot out. =^=
Turning to Adam who was just then hearing the news of his temporary promotion, Savot spoke, "Mr. Parsons, take the ship to our assigned patrol route and schedule a meeting of the senior staff in 1 hour." Turning to enter the ready room to organize his thoughts and plan for the new development, he pivotted slightly to add an additional directive, "Include Doctor Ton'ta Minn in the staff meeting. She was a medical officer aboard the Veridian and I intend to offer her the same post within our ranks. That is all." With that the vulcan finished his movement towards the ready room and the whoosh of the doors secured him within.
(OFF: Here begins our new mission, let's continue the momentum we've been showing. Good luck.)

Judd stood in Cargo Bay Two, cataloging the newly-arrived parts inventory for Engineering, when the message came through from Savot. Damn, this is gettin' serious in a big hurry, he thought. "Jenkins! Getcher butt over here!" he called. A moment later, Ensign Jenkins reported. "Finish catalogin' this inventory, and get it moved down to Stores," he ordered. "I gotta get back to Engineering, we're departin' right away." He handed over his PADD to the blinking Ensign and beat a hasty departure to Main Engineering.

Wolf: Was happy for the last couple of hours he didn't have anybody shooting at him or trying to blow the ship. He heard his commbadge there was a briefing in a hour I wonder what this is going to be about. He still hadn't met the captain yet or found his quarters. Touching a wall panel he found his quarters he wanted to shower and change before he met his new commanding officer. Walking into his quarters he was alittle taken back they were bigger then his last one and had more room. checking to see if his gear had been delivered he found it was all there anc decided to clean himself up.

"Aye, Sir," replied Parsons flatly, still not having had time to absorb the current situation. The CTSO watched Commander Savot disappear into, temporarily at least, his ready room.
Parsons moved around the bridge from the tactical station and positioned himself in front of the Command Chair. "Attention Senior Staff, this is Commander Parsons, your presence is required in the Lounge in one hour. I repeat, Senior staff meeting in the Lounge in one hour."
Turning his attention to the Conn officer, "Helm, lay in a course for our next patrol route; Warp 2."
"Course plotted, Sir."
"Engage." Parsons then lowered himself slowly into the Captain's chair. "Bridge to Dr. Ton'ta Minn....Doctor, would you be so kind as to join the El Sal's senior staff in the Lounge in one hour?"

The El Salvador's stay at Assailant was a very brief one, which was kind of a bad thing for Ethan. He really wanted to take a break, but knew that it wasn't always so. He had been on board when the Admiral has informed Captain Irae that she would be temporarly transferred to a medcial ship. It was a total surprise, but Ethan once again told himself that this was the life they had chosen.
The one good thing was that all the pirates were now under the custody of Intelligence. Further good news had reached Ethan via a message from his father. Who informed him that he was now a big brother.
A few minutes after Captain Irae left the ship, Commander Savot ordered the ship out of dock. It was going to be a bit strange, but he knew that they were in more than capable hands with the new command team.
=^=All Senior Staff report for a senior staff meeting in an hour=^=
Ethan quickly finished his scans and waited for the hour to pass and find out what there next mission would be.

Wolf: Finished cleaning himself up and checking his injured side things looked good. After putting on a fresh uniform he left his quarters and reported to briefing room. He was still new and didn't really know anybody for that matter he wasn't even sure he should be here for the briefing he was technical under Commander Parsons. After enetring the briefing room he noticed another officer and walked up to introduce himself.

After getting the Main Engineering crew on its regular rotation, Judd, with PADD in hand, headed for the conference lounge. He spotted Wolf and Hope, nodded politely, and took a seat, to await the start of the meeting.

[Sickbay]
Ton'Ta was continuing to help out in sickbay while she made a full recovery. She had sent her report to the bridge and was busy stocking the sickbay lab when a voice came over the comm.
=/\= All Senior Staff report for a senior staff meeting in an hour =/\=
She looked up briefly then continued with her work only to be inturrupted again by another voice, this time on her personal combadge.
=/\= "Bridge to Dr. Ton'ta Minn....Doctor, would you be so kind as to join the El Sal's senior staff in the Lounge in one hour?" =/\=
She paused, her hand half way to the badge to reply and shrugged before tapping the badge.
=/\= Yes Sir, I'll be there. =/\=
She closed the channel and went back to work.
[45 Minutes later, Observation Lounge]
Ton'Ta found herself wearing a clean uniform and heading for the observation lounge. It didn't take her long to reach her objective and step into the room. She felt out of place not being a member of the crew and yet sitting in on their senior staff meeting. She found a seat at the end of the table away from the others and sat down.

Parsons entered the lounge and noticed Lieutenants Hope and Wolf exchanging pleasantries. The Chief Engineer was seated at the table working on a PADD and Dr. Minn was at the far end of the conference table, looking a little out of place.
The Acting FO said, "Gentlemen," and nodded as he passed by the three male officers. Stopping a few seats from the end, Parsons rested his hands on the back of one of the tall, plush chairs and took a look at the Doctor before extending his hand with a smile.
"Doctor, I am Commander Adam Parsons, Chief Tactical and Security officer, and for the time being Acting First Officer. It's a pleasure to meet you. I am glad you are all right."

"It's good you could make it. Commander Savot, the Acting Captain, was very clear that you should be here. I'll let him explain why. He should be in shortly."
Parsons then returned to the other end of the table and took the chair between Lt. Sandage and the head of the table.
"Mr. Sandage, how are things in Engineering?"

Judd was just making a few notes on his PADD when Commander Parsons sat down nearby at the conference table. "Mr. Sandage, how are things in Engineering?"
Judd looked up from his pad. "We're keepin' her together, sir," he replied. "The ship's runnin' like a Swiss chronometer. Plus, I was just able to get our stores topped off while we were at Assailant. So we're in pretty good shape," he concluded.

Wolf: Looked up at the end of the table to see the doctor who saved his life if it hadn't been for her he wouldn't be here now. He noticed how she was sitting by herself and walked over to the empty seat on her right.
" I do beleave your name is Minn right ? its wierd huh this is my first briefing as well I haven't even met the captain I'ev only talked to her on my combadge. Didn't even get a chance to ask permission to come aboard. I tell you if these mission go like the last one I'm going to grow gray hair. OFF: Just assuming Kevin's with us since he would be and he's currently on LOA. And assume people that wanted to say hello and stuff as was started in some of the posts have a few minutes to do so before I arrive, so you can backpost the chatting if you want.
*****************************************
With approximately 90 seconds left before the specific deadline for the briefing, the conference room doors whoosh open to admit first Zimmerman the science chief and then Savot. As Kevin took a chair amongst the already gathered crew, the vulcan took the seat at the head of table where the Captain would normally sit. Though he was prepared to wait the additional minute to give people sufficient time to finish their dialogues, before he was even seated the room had fallen into complete silence waiting for whatever news they could get about the current situation.
Savot clasped his hands and let them rest in his lap as he began to speak, "As all of you have by now heard, Captain Irae has been temporarily detached from the El Salvador to participate in a dire medical situation that has surfaced in a nearby system". Before they could completely open their mouths to ask questions he continued, anticipating their curiousity, "Due to the sensitive nature of the situation I have not been given any information beyond the need for her temporary reassignment. Both the nature and duration of the problem are unknown to us, though I have the sense that the command staff members know little more than what they told the Captain."
Leaning forward to rest his clasped hands on the conference table Savot continued, "As First Officer I have been given temporary command of the ship and will perform that function until such time as Captain Irae is able to return. As the next ranking officer Commander Parsons will fulfill the tasks of Acting-First Officer in my stead", turning his head slightly to address Parsons himself he went on, "If you wish you may continue to serve in your Tactical and Security officer in addition to your new duties, though if you have a trusted Second you may leave that position to them instead."
The vulcan centered his gaze back down the middle of the table as he went on, "On the subject of personnel adjustments, I offer official welcome to Lieutenant Wolf as the El Salvador's Senior Marine Officer. Your services in our previous engagement were highly instrumental in our success.", Savot then turned to give a slight nod to Ton'ta Minn, "I commend you as well, Doctor Minn, both for your assistance aboard the pirate base as well as your services to both the Veridian survivors and our own wounded following the battle. As our own Chief Medical Officer position is currently unstaffed by a permanent doctor, I offer you the opportunity to officially join our crew in that capacity."
<Tag Minn>
Returning to a fully upright posture the vulcan tapped a command out on the table's console, bringing up an image of a star system consisting of 4 planets of varying composition on each of the officers' personal console screens in front of them on the table surface. A few more button presses highlighted the 4th planet of the system and zoomed in on it to fill the screens, the planet itself filling much of the space, with three smaller objects seeming to rotate around it.
"This is the planet Corinian 4. The inhabitants of this planet have recently applied for membership in the Federation and will likely be granted membership within the month. However, the planet is currently facing a crisis of immense proportion", Savot began, then tapped at the console again to zoom out to a view of the entire solar system, highlighting but not augmenting the 2nd planet in the system, "The Corinian sun has recently undergone a period of high instability, producing high-intensity solar flares and massive increases in its expulsion of heat. This has had no direct detrimental effect to Corinian 4 itself, but the mass changes in temperature have shattered much of the outermost geological layer of Corinian 2 which has been unstable for the past 3.74 centuries on estimate."
With another press of a button, the outermost layer of the circle that represented Corinian 2 seemed to crumble away from the planet and began spreading out from momentum in all generations of space. The fragments of greatest concern were; however, the ones that seemed to be headed on a collision course with Corinian 4. As the simulation progressed, Savot once again focussed in on the 4th planet, and highlighted the 3 orbitting objects seen earlier, "The inhabitants of Corinian 4 have a highly developed astronomical science and have recognized this possibility for some time now. However, despite their Federation-comparable grasp of science and technology, they lack the resources to mount an effective resistance against this threat."
Having finished with his manipulations of the viewscreen images Savot leaned back against the chair's rear support and rested his closed hands on each of the armrests, "The devices you can see orbitting the planet are manned phaser-defense stations from which to destroy any incoming planetary debris. Unfortunately, due to the aforementioned lack of large-scale resources the stations have not yet reached a sufficient stage of completion to protect the surface of Corinian 4", looking to Sandage he went on, "The completion and activation of these stations will be your primary task, Mr. Sandage. The source of incompletion lies mainly with the absence of adequate system programming and the installation of relatively basic components which we are either already carrying or can easily replicate. You will need to select an outfit a team for transport to each station to attend the repairs."
Savot looked back to Doctor Minn, "Doctor, your objective may in fact be more difficult. An uncertain number of very minute, hypothesized as fist-size, pieces of the Corinian 2 surface debris have already struck the planet, landing almost entirely within bodies of water near major cities. Within hours after their impact was reported, their medical facilities within each of these cities received an influx of patients suffering from what appears to be radiation poisoning, suggesting that the debris carries a radioactive signature and has contaminated many of their sources of water. Upon our arrival you are to begin collaboration with Corinian 4's medical personnel on a method of effectively countering this specific form of radiation and restoring those already poisoned by it."
Nodding in Zimmerman's direction at that point, Savot continued speaking, "Commander Zimmerman the responsibility for locating these fragments which have already impacted lies with you. Upon discerning their location form hazmat teams to recover the fragments for safe disposal."
Centering his eyes back down the middle of the table, Savot took in the whole group as he completed his briefing, "Should Sandage and his teams be unable to activate the defense stations before the remaining, larger fragments near the planet, those of us onboard at that time will take it upon ourselves to destroy the fragments until they can. This is one of the primary reasons we were chosen for this assignment and as such were forced to separate from the Captain for the moment as her destination was in nearly the opposite direction. The El Salvador's offensive capabilities and her mobility in MVAM mode make her perfectly suited to the task of destroying the fragments should time constraints require."
He clasped his hands again and leaned forward once more to rest them on the table surface, "Are there any questions before we proceed?"
<TAG anyone, including those who wish to insert responses in between sections of the briefing>

Judd Leaned forward, his PADD on the table in front of him. The young engineer was already showing signs of having matured during his relatively short time aboard the El Sal. "How many o' these defense stations are there? Also, I gather, since they're so far behind, that Corinian engineers are either not the best or are in short supply. Either way, I figure on needin' a lot of people, since, if the former is true, we won't have time to give 'em any meaningful trainin', and the latter, well, that's obvious."

Kevin leaned back in his seat while Sandage asked his question. An unspecified number of material had fallen primarilly into water and could have been carried on the planet, should the oceans prove large enough and the underwater currents strong enough. He would need to reconstruct the flight paths of the fragments, and then cross-referance that data with the local scientists' information on their oceans. This would not be incredibly difficult, but it would take a long time. Then there was the problem of retrival. Getting a hazmat team under water could prove difficult, especially if any of the fragments had been carried into the deep sea. And finally, there was the possibility that as the fragments fell through the atmosphere they could have left radiation there, and it could be falling toward the cities at the moment. Though it was more likely they had been traveling so quickly they had not deposited significant ammounts of radiation, all possibilities had to be considered.
Ton'ta was sitting next to Kevin, and after Savot responded to Sandage's question, Kevin said, "I'll need to coordinate with you, Dr. Minn, on the radiation problem. I will require information on the qualities of the fragments and radiaiton of the fragments. My first objective is to locate the fragments, and I will bring one on board as soon as I can - with your permission, sir." Kevin looked at Savot.
"Assuming you use proper protocool conerning the shielding of hazardous material, you have my permission," replied Savot.
"Then I will bring one aboard for our teams to analyse," continued Kevin. "While they analyse it, I will continue to search for the other fragments. You may, if you choose, lead the teams in the analysis. Locating the fragments requires only one or two individuals and patience, while the analysis will require many more people. If you lead the teams, you might also be more familiar with the radiation while attempting to counter its effects."

Savot looked at the Engineer and nodded slightly as he replied, "As designated on the display of the planet there are 3 defense stations, placed in different orbital paths so as to always present a line-of-sight angle from which to target incoming debris. The Corinians are in fact quite advanced in their understanding of technology and as such it has been their lack of sufficient natural resources that has rendered them unable to complete the stations within the given timeframe. As I mentioned the stations' infrastructure and major component constructions are almost fully completed, so the work involved will consist mainly of installing a small number of additional components and the completion and calibration of their targetting and firing protocols. The Corinian Engineers should be able to adapt quickly to your repair instructions and should augment your number of available personnel significantly."
As he listened to Kevin lay out his overall plan of action he nodded in response to the permission request and remained silent while Zimmerman and Doctor Minn collaborated. As they finished detailing their cooperation Savot then nodded in the direction of Lieutenant Hope, "It will be your job, Lieutenant, to render assistance to the Doctor and Commander Zimmerman as needed with additional sensor scans and data analysis."

Ethan was very familiar with the situation on Corinian 4 having visited the planet with his parents many years ago. Ethan had spent two weeks in the southern most continent swimming, hiking, and having fun. Unfortunately he had yet to return to the planet, but that was going to change. The solar activity was prominet news even then, but Ethan payed no attention to it.
As Commander Savot briefed them about the space debris, Ethan remembered that he had been forbidden to swim outdoors. His mother hand't explained why, but he didn't really ask.
"Commander, do we know which cities have been affected?" Ethan asked.
"Yes we do Lt.," Commander Savot said as he showed them a list of the effected cities. There were about eight cities on the list and one of them was Marbern City, the one he had spent time on. Even though he had not been there in years he still had friends living there. As soon as he could he would be contacting them to see if they were alright.
As soon as the briefing ended, Ethan was the first one out the door. It might looked strange, but that didn't matter. It would take a few minutes for the Commander to assign him mission related duties. As soon as he reached his station he asked the computer to contact his friend. He knew that there would not be an immediate reponse, since it was nightime in Corinian.
As soon as he was finished, Ethan listened in on Commander Zimmerman and Doctor Minn's conversation. They were speaking of how to better help the citizen's of Corinian and fight the radiation.
"It will be your job, Lieutenant, to render assistance to the Doctor and Commander Zimmerman as needed with additional sensor scans and data analysis."
"Understood sir," Ethan responded and walked up to the Commander and the doctor, who he would be working with a lot this mission.

[Before the Meeting, Observation Lounge]
Ton'ta watched as the rest of the staff entered the room and found their seats. She nodded to each one acknowledging their presence. There were three there ahead of her, Lt. Hope, the Chief Ops officer; Lt. Wolf, the marine Lieutenant whom she'd cared for in sickbay and Lt. Sandage, the Chief Engineer. She knew them by site as well as the chatter between them, having used the time in sickbay to go over the crew roster of the ship.
Shortly after sitting down the Chief Tac. officer, Cmdr. Parsons entered. He acknowledged the other officers before moving to where she sat and extending his hand.
"Doctor, I am Commander Adam Parsons, Chief Tactical and Security officer, and for the time being Acting First Officer. It's a pleasure to meet you. I am glad you are all right."
"Thank you Sir. Nice to meet you." She shook his hand and smiled slightly.
"It's good you could make it. Commander Savot, the Acting Captain, was very clear that you should be here. I'll let him explain why. He should be in shortly."
She replied. "I was surprised that he asked me to join you for this briefing." He acknowledged her responce before moving on and sitting next to the Chief Engineer.
Lt. Wolf had stood and walked to where she sat as Cmdr. Parsons walked off and took the seat on her right.
"I do believe your name is Minn right? Itβs weird huh, this is my first briefing as well I haven't even met the captain Iβve only talked to her on my combadge. I didn't even get a chance to ask permission to come aboard. I tell you if this mission goes like the last one I'm going to grow gray hair. "Hello Lieutenant. I'm glad to see you up and around again." She nodded as he took his seat. "No you aren't bugging me." she settled back in the chair as they continued to talk. "You can't be as hard headed as I am. Doctors make the worst patients." The two continued to chat until Cmdr. Savot entered and called the meeting to order.

"Commander Savot I know that this mission doesn't really call for my type of training but I dont like sitting around and would like to help. I'm not a engineer or a medical doctor but I will help out any way I can", Wolf stated as he expressed his obsolete feeling.
Savot tilted his head slightly as he nodded in understanding of the Marine's position, "I understand your reluctance to 'be on the sidelines' as it were, Mr. Wolf. It is true that with regard to the present mission I have no direct area to apply your skills, though the need may arise before the completion of our task. However, as Starfleet personnel our scope must never be exclusively focussed upon our present situation at a given time. There will be future missions for this ship and crew to complete, and in order to elevate our probability of success we must be ever vigilant in maintaining our readiness to face any given situation. To that end I believe the best use of your time for the moment would be to run a series of drills and training regimens, for the Marines under your command of course, but also to any Security personnel who wish to partake. With the memory of our recent mission fresh in their minds many may want to practice more advanced combat techniques."
As Wolf began to reply Savot delayed him with a final statement, "I understand this task seems quite distant from our current mission, but each mission we undertake is but a component of our overarching mission to serve Starfleet and as such everything we do to better ourselves is fulfilling a facet of that mission. Should you and your personnel be required in the Corinian situation either myself or Commander Parsons will contact you at once."

Savot responded to Wolf's concerns and Parsons sympathized.
"Lieutenant, as security chief, I have often felt the same way when on scientific or humanitarian missions. I think the drills are a great idea. I will encourage the ship's tactical and security personnel to attend. I think they could learn a great deal from you."
Savot dismissed the senior staff and Lt. Hope bolted out of the room and onto the bridge. Parsons hung back for a moment and walked up to Lt. Wolf.
"Mr. Wolf, I would also like you to feel free to man the tactical station on occasion. Tactical sensors will likely be critical this mission in supporting Operations and our teams on the planet. I think it would also be a good idea if you visit the stations and inspect the weapons systems that will be used to destroy the fragments. I know I will. We want to make sure they are properly calibrated and that the beams are as powerful and sustainable as possible."
<TAG Wolf>
Parsons waited for all but the Captain to leave and walked to the bridge with him. "Sir, I think I will remain CTSO for the time being. Lieutenant Collison is quite competent. If this situation with Captain Irae gets lengthy, I will have him fill in if that is acceptable."
The Acting First Officer walked around the bridge and stood near the tactical station.

Wolf: Listened to Commander Savot reply he could already tell he was not going to like it.
"I understand your reluctance to 'be on the sidelines' as it were, Mr. Wolf. It is true that with regard to the present mission I have no direct area to apply your skills, though the need may arise before the completion of our task. However, as Star fleet personnel our scope must never be exclusively focussed upon our present situation at a given time.
Wolf: Listened intently but was not happy that was the problem with star fleet. If you are a solider then there aren't a whole lot of mission out there for you. " Understood Commander I will make arrangements to start drills after the briefing and lets hope that you wont need my area of expertise on this mission" <Tag Savot>
The briefing drew to a close as the crew started to leave wolf noticed Commander Parsons waiting for him. Well if anybody knows how I feel right now it would be him after all we are in the same line of work,

Thinking to himself that he liked Commander Parsons he understood wolf and what it was like for a solider after all he was one too the only difference was the uniform. " Thank you Commander for going to bat for me and understanding what its like for us not doing anything. I will be more then happy to man tactical and to help inspect the weapons platform. If there's anything else I can do please let me know. Also Commander Savot may not have said it but your security teams did a great job the training was up to par against any Marine training they did a good job which is a reflection of your leader ship Sir. Not try to kiss any Butt just stating the Truth." < Tag Parsons>

Savot nodded in agreement as they took the turbolift up to the bridge, "Quite acceptable, Commander. I too served in dual-capacity as both First Officer and Chief of Operations during the first several months before Lieutenant Hope's arrival. I am confident you will have no difficulty fulfilling both duties for the duration of your decision to do so."
Turning to face Adam the vulcan continued, "Additionally, I am pleased with your offering tactical station duty shifts to Lieutenant Wolf. The ultimate goal of Starfleet and the Federation is one of peace, but I agree that the application of force is sometimes necessary to deter an unyieldingly malevolent opponent, and it is not my desire for Mr. Wolf to feel ostracized. Should you find opportunities to elevate his feeling of inclusion within our crew, I would welcome your assistance in the matter as my logical mode of operation may be perceived as unwelcoming."

The Acting First Officer walked around the bridge and stood near the tactical station. Savot sat down in the center seat, "Helmsman, plot course to the Corinian system and engage at maximum warp."
The current navigations officer nodded in response and began working away at the controls to bring the ship to bear on the proper coordinates. With a final button press, the helmsman looked up at the viewscreen and watched as the stars extended into rainbow-colored streaks as the El Salvador leapt into warp and sped to the rescue of Corinian 4's inhabitants.
"Engaged, Captain. ETA at maximum warp is 39.7 minutes."

After the meeting, Judd returned immediately to his office in Main Engineering. After a look at the duty roster, he called in the Beta Shift Engineering duty officer. Ensign Kimberly Watkins, a petite young black woman with long braids done up in a bun, arrived a moment later. "You sent for me, sir?" she inquired.
"Yes, Kim," Judd replied. He liked to be a bit more informal with the people in his charge than was the norm within Starfleet. He felt it made for more of a sense of camaraderie. "We've got a mission to Corinan IV, and we'll be there in about half an hour. We've got three defensive platforms to get up and running, and it's gotta be done yesterday. What I need from you is a five-person team for each platform, ready t' go as soon as we arrive. Count me as a member o' one o' the teams, since I'll be goin' over to whichever platform is the farthest behind. While you're doin' that, I'll be gettin' together a list of equipment we're likely t' need. Finally, while I'm away, you'll be in charge o' Engineerin'. Any questions?" She replied in the negative. "Good. Get crackin'," he ordered.
Watson turned and hurried out, even as Judd was calling up the parts & equipment inventory. In about fifteen minutes, he had a basic list done, sent a Priority Requisition to Ops, and arranged for an enlisted detail to load the items onto a cargo transporter as soon as they were issued, to help expedite the operation. Upon their arrival, he would confer with whichever Corinan was in charge, then, when they were given the "go", have his team leaders determine the precise needs of each station. By the time all this was finished, they were just about to their destination

[At the Meeting, Observation Lounge]
Ton'ta listened quietly as Cmdr Savot got the meeting under way and spoke regarding the situation they were going to be heading into. Then he turned towards where she sat ...
"I commend you as well, Doctor Minn, both for your assistance aboard the pirate base as well as your services to both the Veridian survivors and our own wounded following the battle. As our own Chief Medical Officer position is currently unstaffed by a permanent doctor, I offer you the opportunity to officially join our crew in that capacity."
She took a breath before responding with a nod. "I would be honored Sir, to serve as one of the crew." she said quietly before leaning back in her seat to listen as the Commander continued with the briefing.
He spoke to her once again regarding the situation which faced them.
"Doctor, your objective may in fact be more difficult.
She didn't reply yet regarding what was to be needed of her and the medical staff, instead turning to the man sitting next to her, the CSciO, Lt. Cmdr. Zimmerman.
"I'll need to coordinate with you, Dr. Minn, on the radiation problem. I will require information on the qualities of the fragments and radiaiton of the fragments. You may, if you choose, lead the teams in the analysis. Locating the fragments requires only one or two individuals and patience, while the analysis will require many more people. If you lead the teams, you might also be more familiar with the radiation while attempting to counter its effects."
"I would like to be involved rather than sitting in an office." she said nodding to both Lt. Cmdr. Zimmerman and Cmdr. Savot.
The briefing ended a short time later, she and Lt. Cmdr. Zimmerman continued to discuss their objective when they were joined by Lt. Hope, the Chief Ops Officer. She would have to talk to him about getting regular quarters now that she would be staying on board.

Wolf: Headed for the security office still feeling a little useless. He understood the nature of the mission and agreed with Commander Savot the drills were importan. After arriving at his office he started planning the drills and what section would be first. He sent a detailed plan to Commander Savot and Commander Parsons outlining his drills.
" Commander Savot event thought everybody is busy I will still run them through drills you might hear some section heads complaining about my timeing but I have learned that just because we are busy doesn't mean things dont happen they have to beable to complete there mission no matter what may be happening. I would like to start with medical first just a simple inturder drill just to get a feel for how the handle it please let me know if this is acceptable to you" <Tag Savot> After sending his message he waited for a response.
You know he thought maybe when sandage gets done with his work I can get him to modify a phaser rifle for me. He seems pretty handy and making things work
