OOC: Kevin I don't know what you have plan, so I'm going to assume that you have already explained your plan to us and so I will go from there.
IC:
Ethan was pretty sure that he understood everything that Commander Zimmerman had explained to him. Ethan would have to remember to keep his mind extremely attentive to everything that went around him. If he didn't he was sure to miss something of vital importance. When they had finished speaking, Ethan made sure to introduce himself to the new doctor, something he had yet to do.
"Doctor, sorry for not doing this sooner," Ethan said extending his hand," I'm Ethan Hope, the Ops officer, it's very nice to meet you."
<Tag Ton'ta>
The young doctor seemed very nice and Ethan couldn't help think that she was pretty too. He quickly pushed these thoughts out of his head and remembered that the doctor had yet to recieve official quarters.
"Doctor, if you want I can assign you your permanet quarters?" Ethan asked," I'm sure the temporary quarters aren't that fun."

"Commander Savot even though everybody is busy I will still run them through drills you might hear some section heads complaining about my timing but I have learned that just because we are busy doesn't mean things dont happen they have to be able to complete their mission no matter what may be happening. I would like to start with medical first just a simple intruder drill just to get a feel for how they handle it please let me know if this is acceptable to you." After sending his message he waited for a response.
Savot tapped his combadge to reply as he sat on the bridge, =^= Mr. Wolf, you may drill any sections that are not currently involved with the Corinian assistance efforts. The senior officers and their primary staff must remain focussed entirely on their tasks until the situation is fully resolved, but secondary and tertiary staff teams are acceptable if they are not otherwise occupied. Commander Parsons will be available to address any issues or concerns that arise should you require assistance. Bridge out. =^=
As he deactivated his combadge Savot looked forward to the viewscreen, watching the pinpricks of stars zip by as they moved towards Corinian IV. A few minutes afterwards, the navigation officer spoke up as the El Salvador boomed her way back to impulse power, the teal-green orb of the distressed planet looming ahead, "We've arrived at Corinian IV sir, dropping out of warp."
The vulcan nodded, "Enter standard orbit. Mr. Hope, hail the central government and inform them of our arrival. Provide communications protocol on how to contact Dr. Minn and Mr. Sandage, for them to distribute to their medical personnel and the defense station repair teams respectively."
Tapping his badge the vulcan started putting things in motion, =^= Bridge to Sandage. We're entering orbit around Corinian IV, Lieutenant. Stand by to receive communications and status report from the defense station teams and proceed with the repair efforts at your discretion. Report one hour after you transport over and get things underway, and maintain hourly reports from then on unless you require assistance from the ship. Bridge out. =^=
Pressing a button on the chair arm to open another channel he spoke again, =^= Bridge to Doctor Minn. We have arrived and are entering orbit around the planet. Stand by for communication from the Corinian central hospital to confer with their staff on their current status. Commander Zimmerman will be performing his analysis in the primary science lab on the same deck as the sickbay should you need to confer with each other. Signal the bridge if you require any assistance. Savot out. =^=
By this time, the starship had fully settled into a standard orbital pattern above the surface of the planet and glided above the planet amidst the orbitting defense platforms.

"Thank you Commander for going to bat for me and understanding what its like for us not doing anything. I will be more then happy to man tactical and to help inspect the weapons platform. If there's anything else I can do please let me know. Also Commander Savot may not have said it but your security teams did a great job the training was up to par against any Marine training they did a good job which is a reflection of your leader ship Sir. Not try to kiss any Butt just stating the Truth."
"I appreciate your assessment, Lieutenant. I will pass along the sentiment to my security teams. From what I hear, your performance during the mission was exemplary. Captain Savot is cautious with his praise, but I know he was pleased with both your performance and that of the El Sal's security force.
...Later during the conversation with Captain Savot...
Turning to face Adam the vulcan continued, "Additionally, I am pleased with your offering tactical station duty shifts to Lieutenant Wolf. The ultimate goal of Starfleet and the Federation is one of peace, but I agree that the application of force is sometimes necessary to deter an unyieldingly malevolent opponent, and it is not my desire for Mr. Wolf to feel ostracized. Should you find opportunities to elevate his feeling of inclusion within our crew, I would welcome your assistance in the matter as my logical mode of operation may be perceived as unwelcoming."
"Understood, Sir," replied Parsons. "Happy to assist in any way I can. It's hard to be a soldier during peace time. Not that it is necessary, but I agreed completely with your suggestion regarding drills, both for our emergency preparedness and to prevent idleness among our more military arm."

OOC: This post is after talking to Doctor Minn and showing her quarters.
IC:
"We've arrived at Corinian IV sir, dropping out of warp."
Ethan's eyes immediately shot upwards towards the viewscreen. Corinian was as beautiful as he had remembered. In that instance a major rush of gratitude was expressed inside him towards Starfleet which allowed him to help protect this beautiful planet.
"Enter standard orbit. Mr. Hope, hail the central government and inform them of our arrival. Provide communications protocol on how to contact Dr. Minn and Mr. Sandage, for them to distribute to their medical personnel and the defense station repair teams respectively."
"Aye sir," Ethan responded as he contacted the Corninian Council, which ruled the planet. He proceeded to inform them that they were the help that the Federation has sent and how to communicate with the Doctor and Lt. Sandage. "Commander, I've informed the council, but the Head Councilwomen wishes to speak to you, the doctor, and Commander Zimmerman."

"Sir, I'm afraid that our arrival is huge news down on the planet," Ethan said," we are receiving thousands of hails for help. What do you recommend?"

Wolf: Was not happy about this but the orders were clear. The enemy isn't going to care what our mission is when they come to call. Maybe I'm just getting to involved I shouldn't let this bug me that much. Setting up the drills for the rest of the ship was easy considering most of the major sections were involved with there new mission. Every section but mine it seems. Think about commander Parsons " Commander Parsons wolf here when can I start a shift at tatical?" <Tag Parsons> hoping he didn't sound as pitful as he felt he waited for a reply

Judd had just finished briefing his teams, when the call came from the Bridge.
Judd tapped his commbadge. =/\=Acknowledged, Bridge. We're on our way now. Sandage out!=/\= He turned to his teams. "That's it, folks, let's get movin'!" The group immediately moved out smartly for the nearest transporter, most of them toting equipment of some sort. Judd himself had his personal tool kit and an engineering tricorder.
In short order, the status reports came through for each of the platforms. Number two was furthest behind, so Judd and his team beamed there.
The defensive stations were not that different from Federation-style platforms, if a bit older. But Judd did not think they would be too difficult to complete. HE and his team set to work, to determine what they needed to get this platform up and running as quickly as possible.

"Aye sir," Ethan responded as he contacted the Corninian Council, which ruled the planet. He proceeded to inform them that they were the help that the Federation has sent and how to communicate with the Doctor and Lt. Sandage. "Commander, I've informed the council, but the Head Councilwoman wishes to speak to you, the doctor, and Commander Zimmerman."
Savot nodded, "Understood. Relay an invitation to the Head Councilwoman to transport aboard the El Salvador to be briefed by Doctor Minn, Mr. Zimmerman, and myself on our relief strategy. Commander Zimmerman and the Doctor will be only briefly available as their tasks will require their utmost attention as soon as possible, but following the initial briefing I am prepared to confer with the Councilwoman as long as is necessary."
"Sir, I'm afraid that our arrival is huge news down on the planet," Ethan said," we are receiving thousands of hails for help. What do you recommend?"
Savot raised an eyebrow slightly and then his face returned to its normal countenance, "Block all incoming communication signals with the exception of those originating from the Council building, the primary medical facility, and all three orbital platforms. We cannot afford to have our systems taxed by so many signals. After relaying the boarding invitation, request permission from the Council to transmit a message from our conference room through their central hub for public distribution. I will make a public statement detailing our relief efforts alongside the Head Councilwomen. That may assuage some of the populace's fears."
The vulcan rose from the center seat and tapped his combadge, =^= Savot to Zimmerman and Doctor Minn. A Corinian representative will be boarding shortly and wishes to partake in an overview of our relief strategies. Report to the conference room in 10 minutes with your initial strategies prepared. Savot out. =^=
Making his way off the bridge Savot nodded towards Adam, "Commander Parsons you have the bridge", and with that he made his exit to greet the Head Councilwoman in the transporter room.

"Councilwomen Zairce, the El Salvador has granted your request," a lonely communications officer reported," they are asking for a few minutes to prepare."
"Wonderful, please prepare my briefing," Zairce said to her aide as she took a drink of water. It had been very hard on her government for the last couple of weeks. The radiation in the water was spreading even though they were trying everything to stop it. Many on the council voiced there displeasure when she decided to contact Starfleet. They feared that they Federation would think twice before accepting them if they would be a drain on there resources.
In the end she contacted them anyways. The death of an entire family was to much for her and the public. They needed help and the Federation could do that for them.
"Councilwomen they are ready for you," her aide said handing her a bag filled with reports and information.
"Thank you," Zairce said as she took the bag and waited to be transported. In a matter of seconds she felt herself being dematerialized and rematerialized on the Federation ship. She saw a Vulcan man and two men.
"Councilwomen Zairce, I am Captain Savot," the Vulcan said," and this is Commander Parson my first officer, and Lt. Hope our operations officer. He will be handling all communications from your government."
"Thank you Captain," Zairce said a bit annoyed," but I would like to get to work. As we speak Corinians are dieing."
"Certainly, please follow me," the Captain said," my doctor and science officer are waiting for us in Conference Room 1." As she was walking through the corridors of the ship it dawned on her if Corinian joined the Federation they would be able to enjoy these types of amenities. Her people were proud of their accomplishments, but they couldn't deal with this. In the future, if everything went well, the Corinian people would already have the resources at there disposal.
"Councilwomen, this is Commander Zimmerman and Doctor Minn," Captain Savot said.
"Doctor, Commander, Captain... these PADDs are my governments reports and findings on what is happening to us. This is everything we have been able to find out, but I'm sad to say it isn't much," Zairce said handing them the information.

"Commander Parsons, Wolf here, when can I start a shift at tactical?"
"Mr. Wolf, feel free to stop by the bridge now or at your convenience. Just relieve the tactical officer on duty and have them report back to the tactical station when you leave. We were just beginning scans of the planet and orbital platforms."
A little while later, Savot headed for the transporter room to meet the planet's leader. Making his way off the bridge Savot nodded toward Adam, "Commander Parsons you have the bridge."
As Savot entered the turbolift, Lieutenant Hope hopped up from his station and spun around, "Captain, permission to join you. It's not everyday you get to meet a head of state."
Savot paused a moment thoughtfully and then added, "Very well Lieutenant. Commander Parsons, you may attend as well if you wish."
Parsons and Hope looked at each other with slight grins and joined the Captain on the turbolift. Savot left temporary bridge command to the junior lieutenant at the Conn station.
(That last bit was to reconcile posts by Savot and Hope that seemed to conflict as to my whereabouts.)
In the transporter room: "Councilwomen Zairce, I am Captain Savot," the Vulcan said," and this is Commander Parsons my first officer, and Lt. Hope our operations officer. He will be handling all communications from your government."
"Thank you Captain," Zairce said a bit annoyed," but I would like to get to work. As we speak Corinians are dieing."
"Certainly, please follow me," the Captain said. As they exited the transporter room Parsons veered off and headed back to the bridge.

Aboard Defensive Platform Number Two, Judd and his team were busy. Very busy. They quickly learned that part of the reason that this platform was so far behind was that it had been supplied with the wrong phase-inducers, and several of its older EPS power conduits had blown the first time they tested it. Replacing or repairing the conduits wasn't too difficult, with five pairs of hands, plus those of the Corinians, but replacing the phase-inducers was a bit trickier, since it could not be readily replicated.
Judd rummaged through the materials that had beamed over with them, and found that they just didn't have what was needed to cobble the phase-inducers together on-site. "Tor'Kel!" he said, and an antenna-bobbing Andorian hurried over. "I gotta beam back to the El-Sal and whip up some new phase-inducers for this heap. You're in charge till I get back!"
The Andorian crewman acknowledged, and Judd smacked his commbadge. =/\=Sandage to El Salvador! Status report on Platform number two, we're having to repair or replace about two dozen EPS power conduits, which, with the amount of people we have working over here, should only take a few hours. But they somehow managed to get the wrong phase-inducers, and I need to re-work them so they will work. To do that, I need the El Sal's facilities. Permission to return immediately!=/\=

Ethan was now on the bridge working hard at trying to prioritize the calls the El Salvador was getting. Even though he had blocked all communications from the rest of the planet, the ship was still receiving thousands of hails. It seemed that the Corinians were a bit more advance in communications than he had anticipated.
The other problem was that the Council building was publicly accessible and people were allowed to use there communications systems. Ethan found it painfully hard to ignore there pleas of help, but he knew that it wouldn't serve any purpose to give them false hope.
This also made him feel helpless and useless, he had always been able to help people without giving it another thought. What made it worse was the fact that his friends were also suffering made the feeling almost unbearable.
Ethan had already decided to ask Captain Savot if he would allow Ethan to visit the planet and see if his friends were alright. He knew that there was a possibility that he would say no, but he would ask anyways.
His thoughts were brought back to reality when his console beeped at him. As he read the information his eyes bulged wider, this was not the information that anyone wanted to see. It seemed that another round of meteorites were heading towards the planet. It wouldn't take long for meteorites to reach the planet and it seemed that these rocks were bigger than any of the previous ones.
=^=Hope to Commander Savot=^=
=^=Savot here=^=

The moment Judd got his clearance from Commander Parsons, he hefted the case with the old phase-inducers and hit his commbadge again. =/\=Sandage to Transporter, one to transport directly to Main Engineering!=/\= Two seconds later, Judd and the case were swallowed by the transporter beam and deposited in the center of Main Engineering. He didn't even waste time greeting anyone, but hurried, with the case, to his office/workshop, where he opened the case. This was going to take awhile.

Savot nodded in acceptance of the PADDs. Giving each a quick glance he passed the med-specific one to Doctor Minn while he set the one containing the general overview on the table between himself and Zimmerman to allow them both to internalize the data. "Understandable, Councilwoman. Be assured we are already pursuing a multi-faceted effort to restore the situation. Even now our engineering personnel are at work attempting to bring the orbital platforms online, and the medical and science teams are completing preliminary preparations to address the radiation crisis. Doctor Minn and Commander Zimmerman will proceed to supervise their teams as soon as our briefing is concluded to your satisfaction."
<Tag any comments/etc. from Kevin or Minn>
After a few minutes' discussion, the communication system chimed with an intraship transmission.
=^=Hope to Commander Savot=^=
=^=Savot here=^=, the vulcan replied after tapping his combadge to activate his end of the communication.
=^=Sir, sensors show a large number of meteorites heading towards the planet. Scans show that they will reach the planet in a week or so. I will know better with more detailed scans.=^=
Savot tilted his head slightly as he took in the report, and quickly spoke back to the Lieutenant, =^= Acknowledged, Mr. Hope. Prepare a probe and launch when ready towards the incoming debris. It should traverse the distance rapidly enough to provide useful telemetry providing further details. Contact me with any further reports, Savot out. =^=
The vulcan turned back to Zairce, "The debris' ETA is still within our effective timeframe, Councilwoman. If the orbital platforms have not been sufficiently repaired within 48 hours of the debris' projected time of impact with your planet the El Salvador will break orbit and destroy the debris piece by piece. Our Multi-Vector-Assault Mode allows the ship to separate into 3 sections of significant firepower and will allow for the destruction of the debris even if we are faced with a large number of targets."
"Another issue that must be attended, Councilwoman", Savot explained as he continued speaking, "is the, albeit understandable, mass panic that is overtaking your inhabitants. We have received in excess of 2500 incoming hails frantically requesting assistance. This widespread level of distress is not only problematic for our ship's systems, as they are taxed by the number of incoming signals, but to a much greater degree it endangers the safety of your populace as the risk of riotting and similar response increases. With your permission, I suggest you and I transmit a message from the El Salvador to your central network to be distributed globally, detailing our relief stratagems and attempting to provide a sense of reassurance that their safety and that of your planet will be upheld."

[We had a family tragedy this past week and I have been busy with a graduation party for my daughter as well as being away yesterday so catching up in this post]
[After the Meeting]
Ton’ta shook the hand of the Chief Ops officer and smiled slightly.
"Doctor, sorry for not doing this sooner," Ethan said extending his hand," I'm Ethan Hope, the Ops officer, it's very nice to meet you."
“It’s a pleasure to meet you as well Sir.” Ton’ta replied.
"Doctor, if you want I can assign you your permanent quarters?" Ethan asked," I'm sure the temporary quarters aren't that fun." Lt. Hope continued.
“No Sir, they aren’t. I could use something with a little more room.” She replied.
(After which Lt. Hope showed her to her new quarters)
[Later In Sickbay]
Ton’ta was just finishing rounds when her combadge squawked.
=^= Bridge to Doctor Minn. Savot out. =^=
She tapped her badge and replied as she headed for the science lab located nearby.
=/\= I’ll do that right now Sir, thank you. =/\= Closing the link shortly after.
(After arriving at the science labs and conferring with Kevin)
=^= Savot to Zimmerman and Doctor Minn. A Corinian representative will be boarding shortly and wishes to partake in an overview of our relief strategies. Report to the conference room in 10 minutes with your initial strategies prepared. Savot out. =^=
She tapped her combadge as the two finished up their work and headed for the conference room.
=/\= right away sir =/\=
[In the conference room]
Ton’ta found herself seated once again at the table she had left such a short time ago, but this time she knew more than she had originally and already was feeling very much a part of the crew.
She stood as the Acting Captain and their guest arrived.
Ton’ta nodded to the Councilwoman and accepted the offered PADD.
"Doctor, Commander, Captain... these PADDs are my governments reports and findings on what is happening to us. This is everything we have been able to find out, but I'm sad to say it isn't much,"
She proceeded to read the PADD as well as the one passed to her by the Cmdr. Savot.
“Lt. Cmdr. Zimmerman and I will get right on this.” She replied after skimming the information.

Wolf: Quickyl checked the scans to confirm the incoming meteorites and there projected flight path. after checking there path he quickly firgured a firing program to destroy the Meteorites if the the weapons platforms weren't on line by then. Still thinking to himself it seem strange that the platforms weren't futhere along. Turning towards Commander Parsons he asked his questions" Sir if its okay with you I would like to check the computer log's of the platforms It might just be me and my overly secuirty minded brain. It just seems alittle strange to me that those platforms are not futher along. Since this planet wants to join the federation then the compute net works are open to us for inspection. I just want to make sure somebody hasn't been trying to slow down the work it might not be anything at all but poor luck but I'm not buying that"

“Lt. Cmdr. Zimmerman and I will get right on this.” She replied after skimming the information.
"Captain, I've located a fragment which made landfall on the ground," interjected Kevin. "May I beam it aboard as soon as we're finished here?"
"Certainly," replied Savot.
After the meeting, Kevin and Ton'ta walked at a brisk pace toward the science labs. "I can have part of the fragment transported to sickbay, if you'd like, or you could use my lab. I'll be busy locating the rest of the fragments, and I won't need the science labs at all."
(Minn)
"Very good. As soon as you've completed your analysis, or if you need any help or a second opinion, grab me and I'll review your progress before our teams begin to take measures to counter the fragments. I'll be in astrometrics for a few minutes, but I should be back in the science lab before long."
(any more disaloug between Minn and Kevin)
"Zimmerman to Transporter Room One," said Kevin, tapping his commbadge. "Beam up the fragment straight to the science lab."

=^=Sir, sensors show a large number of meteorites heading towards the planet. Scans show that they will reach the planet in a week or so. I will know better with more detailed scans.=^=
"Not again," Zarice said as she sat down. They were lucky enough to have the El Salvador to help them, but things on Corinian were not going in there favor. The only comforting thing was that the Vulcan Captain was taking care of it. It was good to know that the El Salvador could become three ships and each of them had weapons.
Zarice was about to speak to the doctor and science officer when they declared that they were ready to get underway on their studies. She was amazed when they reported that they had transported a piece of meteorite. She knew that there technology was advance, but she was still surprised.
"Another issue that must be attended, Councilwoman", Savot explained as he continued speaking, "is the, albeit understandable, mass panic that is overtaking your inhabitants. We have received in excess of 2500 incoming hails frantically requesting assistance. This widespread level of distress is not only problematic for our ship's systems, as they are taxed by the number of incoming signals, but to a much greater degree it endangers the safety of your populace as the risk of rioting and similar response increases. With your permission, I suggest you and I transmit a message from the El Salvador to your central network to be distributed globally, detailing our relief stratagems and attempting to provide a sense of reassurance that their safety and that of your planet will be upheld."
"I couldn't agree more Captain," Zarice said," but the attempt at reassurance must succeed or rioting will be guaranteed. My people are tired of having false hope Captain and I there scared for their families. There is now way that we can logistically transport all the people from the effected cities to other parts of the planet. Our only hope are the efforts of you and your crew."

=^=Understood sir, Hope out.=^=
Ethan immediately prepared a probe and in five minutes it was ready for launch.
"Commander Parsons, the probe is ready," Ethan reported.
"Fire the probe," Commander Parsons ordered. Ethan did exactly that and saw the probe speed towards the meteorites that were heading there way.
"Commander we will be receiving telemetry in a matter of minutes," Ethan reported as he kept his entire attention on the probe and what it was telling him.

Wolf walked onto the bridge and took over at the tactical station. Parsons looked over his shoulder briefly as he did so. As the Marine familiarized himself with the situation at tactical, the temporary XO walked around to great him. As he did, Parsons noticed Wolf was now wearing the insignia of a Marine Captain.
"Congratulations, Captain Wolf. I see your promotion came through."
"Thank you, Sir," replied the Marine. The two chatted briefly before Parsons returned to the Captain's chair.
Turning toward Commander Parsons, Wolf asked "Sir, if its okay with you I would like to check the computer logs of the platforms It might just be me and my overly security minded brain. It just seems a little strange to me that those platforms are not further along. Since this planet wants to join the federation then the computer networks are open to us for inspection. I just want to make sure somebody hasn't been trying to slow down the work it might not be anything at all but poor luck but I'm not buying that"
Commander Parsons thought for a moment as he stood and turned toward the Marine officer. "I think sabotage is highly unlikely Mr. Wolf. From what I know, it is far more likely that the planet lacks the sufficient resources to finish such a large project in a timely manner. Having said that, your concern is noted and I will consider taking the matter up with Lieutenant Sandage, so that he might keep an extra vigilant eye."
A few moments later, "Commander Parsons, the probe is ready," Ethan reported.
"Fire the probe," Commander Parsons ordered. Ethan did exactly that and the XO watched on the viewscreen as the probe sped toward the meteorites that were heading there way.
"Commander we will be receiving telemetry in a matter of minutes," Ethan reported as he kept his entire attention on the probe and what it was telling him.
"Very good Lieutenant. Let me know if the probe picks up anything interesting." Parsons turned slightly toward tactical, "Mr. Wolf, you should be receiving additional data shortly. Please integrate this into your plan of attack in case the platforms are not ready in time."

Savot stood beside Councilwoman Zarice in front of one of the conference room walls that had a large picture of the Federation's symbol emblazened upon it. The vulcan was not typically one for theatrics himself, but his exposure to emotionally open beings especially since first coming aboard the El Salvador A years ago had taught him that dramatic flare could often spell the difference between success and failure. The, temporary, commander of a Federation starship, of a species known even to some of the Corinians as logical, efficient, and especially honest, standing beside the planet's head representative against a backdrop representing the grand entity Corinian 4 was about to join would raise the people's confidence if anything could.
The crewman manning the transmitting equipment gave a nod to Savot informing him the connection through the Council building's central hub had been established. Savot clasped his hands behind his back, gave a tilted nod of respect to Zarice, and nodded for the crewman to initiate communications, "Citizens of Corinian 4, I am Savot of Vulcan in command of the Federation starship El Salvador here with your esteemed Head Councilwoman Zarice. My crew and I are aware of the forboding situation you and your planet are confronted with, what is yet to come as well as the problems that have already occured on the planet surface. You are all aware that your planet is soon to become a member of the Federation, yet were that not the case I assure you we would still offer assistance in this crisis. As we speak our medical and science personnel have begun addressing the radiation problem on the surface in tandum with your own head doctors and scientists."
"Engineering teams are already aboard your orbital defense platforms with your own engineers conducting repairs to bring them to readiness, yet this is not the sole line of defense. Should completion require more time than the incoming debris will allow, this vessel, of Starfleet's most heavily armed design, will intercept and destroy the incoming debris itself. Those of you who are familiar with my race know that we are not given to deception or baseless optimism. These statements have been made because they are based in fact, this ship and her crew are both well equipped and experienced, and neither shall leave before the crisis is averted", Savot moved his hands from his back to his front and reclapsed them as he went on.
"I do not suggest; however, that you yourselves have no role to play in this situation. On the contrary your involvement is of crucial importance. You must carry out your daily actitivities as you would if the current situation did not exist. Everyone who can directly address the crisis is doing so, but their efforts are hindered the farther your planetary infrastructure deviates from its norm. Societies rely on the duties of everyone being fulfilled in a regular pattern, without this solid foundation each tier above it is increasingly less stable. In order to equip your government, your hospitals, your engineers with the most effective capability to face this crisis, your society must continue to function normally to provide for them a solid base", Savot ended his unnaturally long monologue at that point, leaving the Councilwoman to directly guide her people as it would be more natural to follow a local leader with whom they were familiar than a distant representative of a massive entity like the Federation.

The words of the Vulcan were compassionate, strong, and compelling. She wondered if he put any emotion into those words, but then again there was no way for her to know. It had been a common belief that Vulcan's had no emotions. She was sure that was wrong, but then again this was the first Vulcan that she had talked to.
When he finished she waited a few seconds and than spoke.
"People of Corinian, we have been through some trying times," Zarice began," but now we have hope. The crew of this magnificent ship have already began working on saving our people. We ask much from them, and they are happy to oblige. For that reason I urge you to live your lives. We cannot allow our crops to die, our children to stop learning. We must live like the day of old, filled with happiness."
"I know that is hard for us to do or comprehend as our friends and family lay bedridden in our hospitals dieing. We must not allow there pain to overcome us or we will all perish. For that reason the martial law that was put in place two months ago is now rescinded. This does not mean rioting will be tolerated which will be punished harshly and severely. Furthermore all of the Corinian States will allow you to return to your homes as long as you do not use the water in the area."
Zarice took a breath realizing that this was the time for her people to experience some relative joy.
"All of us must help in the recovering of our dear home, so I urge you to help your neighbor and for them to help you. We are strongest when united and with the help of the Federation we will be stronger than ever. May Corinian experience peace and love once more."
Zarice had felt drained of all her strength, but now she was ready to continue working for the furture of her people. When the crisis ends she would make sure to present the crew of the El Salvador with there highest honor.

Wolf: Listened to Commander Pasrsons "I think sabotage is highly unlikely Mr. Wolf. From what I know, it is far more likely that the planet lacks the sufficient resources to finish such a large project in a timely manner. Having said that, your concern is noted and I will consider taking the matter up with Lieutenant Sandage, so that he might keep an extra vigilant eye." Thinking for a moment " You are right sir its just my over active mind always looking for trouble if its okay with with you I would like to launch some probes to scout the system for mineral deposits after this is over it might help the planet to find new resources"
Wolf: Listened to the exchange between Commander Parsons and Ethan when commander Parsons addressed him "Mr. Wolf, you should be receiving additional data shortly. Please integrate this into your plan of attack in case the platforms are not ready in time." Looking down at his read outs " Sir I'm starting to get the information now we should be able to handle it as long as we leave the planet on time we wont be able to delay if we want to get them all" <Tag Parsons>

Judd, his uniform collar loosened and his sleeves rolled to the elbows, had been listening to the joint speech from Mister Savot and the Corninan representative, Zarice, as he worked. Mister Savot's portion was just as it should have been; he would have made a pretty darn good diplomat. Miss Zarice's, on the other hand, seemed...forced. Martial law? he thought, wincing internally at the implications. But he wasn't here to judge these people, he was here to help avert a potentially catastrophic disaster.
He winced again, this time visibly, as a spit of sparks came from the inducer in front of him. This is going to take awhile, he thought glumly.
(Savot here Judd, just clearing something up if I read your post correctly. Zarice's mentioning of martial law was to tell the people it had been ended, not begun. If the wincing was about the fact that it was active for the past 2 months, that's my mistake for reading it incorrectly, but just wanted to make sure in case it was unclear so no one got the wrong impression of the situation planetside)

Looking down at his read outs, Wolf reported, "Sir I'm starting to get the information now ... we should be able to handle it as long as we leave the planet on time ... we wont be able to delay if we want to get them all."
"Understood Mr. Wolf." Parsons then tapped his combadge, "Parsons to Savot."
Savot's voice followed, "Go ahead, Commander."
"Sir, sensors show another round of meteorites headed for the planet. They were identified by Lt. Hope's probe and their path has been confirmed by tactical senors. We need to break orbit now to intercept them all safely."
"Very well, Mr. Parsons, break orbit and prepare to engage the meteorites. I will be on the bridge momentarily."
"Aye, Sir," Parsons responded. Addressing the bridge crew generally, "You heard the Captain, break orbit and set a course for the debris. Mr. Wolf, ready all weapons."
(Savot here again, to everyone. As Ethan's original scans put his bunch at a week's distance, we'll assume this batch was a smaller set that was missed due to remaining instabilities in the region from the sun's fluctuations. They're still able to do a significant amount of damage, and present additional radiation problems, but nothing 'Armaggedon movie' size until the week-distant ones Ethan first detected. *thumbs up*)
