" Sir I want to run combat drills as soon as possible, I want to know what the crew is capable of right now with out any rest. I would like to have them report to the holodeck for a endurance test on the obstacle course and finishing up in the combat circle with me. I wont over tax them but I need to know how far they can go on short notice with little rest. I wont hurt anybody or push them to hard first time through the course will consist of a 8 mile run through rough terrain where I will face them in the circle. All they have to do is throw me out of the circle and there done", Wolf responded to the vulcan after Savot had mentioned the drills. Savot nodded, his hands clasped at his back per usual, "Very well Captain. That seems a wise test to put to the crew. Proceed at your discretion beginning one half-hour from now. Barring the rise of an emergency, the senior staff is at your disposal to summon for drilling either one by one or in groups if you wish to test team cohesiveness in some manner. I will be unavailable for likely the next 1.5 hours as my presence will be required in the debrief of the Corinian mission due to the duration the El Salvador was under my command. Captain Irae should not be bothered for at least 3 hours as she will have to complete the debrief and receive the details of our next orders. I will signal you when I have returned from the ship should you desire my presence or participation." A few seconds after completing his talk with Wolf, Hope's voice rang out from Ops, "Commander Savot, the station is sending us the whereabouts of Commander Gonto," Ethan reported and waited for what was to come. "Very good. Send the Commander our berthing information once we've fully docked. I'm sure the Commander will be familiar with the protocols of reporting in at a new posting", Savot instructed the Operations Chief as he stood calmly at the center of the bridge watching the docking berth of Starbase Assailant grow ever larger in the viewscreen as the El Salvador approached the final moments of her return 'home'... (OFF: Everyone feel free to post at your discretion for the next couple of days. Captain and I are hashing out the next mission details and should be ready to go very soon.
Senior staff, don't be afraid to attempt to take time off on the station. Wolf's call could come through at any time and Picard himself got interrupted in the middle of personal hobbies on several occasions, so it'll at least have a realistic feel if it happens to you this time. Captain Wolf if you find you need any help with the layout/execution of your drill posts please avail yourself of my assistance or Adam's since he probably has a good feel for what you're shooting for.
Commander Gonto, we're bringing you aboard storywise at least just in case you still exist and plan on simming with us. If you change your mind then it'll be simple enough to hop a shuttle to wherever you journey towards next.
Good luck to everyone, especially those posting the rigors of drill duty )

It felt like a very excruciating long time since Ethan laid eyes on Starbase Assailant and he was happy to be back at port. Though he hoped that it could be at a better time. He just read the newswire and it seemed that Admiral Lin went mad, left Assailant, and is now missing. There was always drama on a station which was why he liked them. Living on a ship sometimes got very boring.
His duties to the El Salvador were at the moment finished went meant that he would have some free time and he was going to to do so. There were holosuites, bars, restaurants, gyms, and a lot of people on Assailant.
"It should be fun," Ethan said talking to his little tree. For a second he expected it to respond, but that of course didn't happen. Since his arrival on the El Salvador, Ethan had yet to make a true friend. He didn't know why that was, but he accounted it to the fact that they all had very busy lives. These thoughts began to weigh heavily on Ethan. Before he joined Starfleet he had dozens of friends, but now that wasn't true anymore.
"Stop it, stop making yourself feel bad," Ethan told himself as he folded up his uniform and put on some regular clothes. "Hopefully I will make a friend on Assailant." With that thought in his head, Ethan grabbed a bite to eat and headed to Assailant.

The ship had docked with Assailant and things were winding down on the bridge. A young security Ensign took the tactical station and Parsons headed for the turbolift.
Arriving at his quarters a few minutes later, Adam retrieved one of his most prized possessions, an ancient Earth Weapon. It was carried in its case through the corridors as Parsons tapped his combadge. "Parsons to Wolf."
"I will be in holodeck one if you need any help with the drills. Feel free to interrupt."
The CTSO arrived at the holodeck and stepped inside after setting up a virtual shooting range.
Once inside, Adam laid the case on a small table and withdrew a 1911 model .45 caliber pistol. It was a projectile weapon made popular by American forces during Earth's first two world wars.
Loading the replicated ammunition, Parsons took aim and began firing off rounds downrange. The target came in with all shots within the human silhouette, but not all center mass. "Getting rusty," Adam muttered to himself.
After expending several magazines, Adam changed the program to the interior of a Prometheus class vessel being invaded by Borg. The biomechanical invaders were no match for flying lead.
After Parsons was out of ammo and exhausted from running around the holographic ship wielding a weapon that had much more recoil than the Starfleet security officer was accustomed, Parsons shut the program down and recased his weapon.

Judd felt immesaurable relief when the El Sal was finally docked safely at Assailant. Then, since there was only routine maintenance and resupply to be done, he felt immeasurably bored. Leaving an Ensign in charge with explicit orders to call him if there were any problems (not that there should be any), Judd decided he would take advantage of Assailant's exercise facilities. which, he heard, included a basketball court and a running track. So it was that, after leaving word of his whereabouts, Judd, with a small gym bag under his arm, stepped through the airlock. A few minutes later, he was in the men's locker room of Assailant's phyical training facility changing into exercise clothes, which consisted of his old University of Tennessee Track Team uniform and running shoes. After properly stretching and warming up, Judd was trotting around the coarse dark-red surface of the track at a fair clip.

Wolf: Enter the holodeck and began the program the course was a challenge but nothing to demanding the goal for him was to see where the crew was at. He hadn't gone in there with the idea's of beating up on the crew. He had planned on letting them win he wouldn't make it easy but he just wanted to see what they knew. Looking around he decided to send for his first person. Tapping his combadge " Commander Parsons your presence is requested in holodeck 3 please join me when you can" <Tag Parsons>
Moving to the circle he did some stretching to warm up and to loosen up. He didn't know what to expect but one thing was for sure Commander Parsons turn would be the most challenging in his mind.

"Acknowledged," Parsons replied. He returned his firearm to his quarters and reported to the other Holodeck for his training with Wolf.
Adam was not looking forward to this particular training, but knew it would be beneficial. The CTSO had always disliked running, although he did it fairly often to maintain an acceptable level of fitness for a Starfleet Security Chief.
Parsons entered the holodeck and began the several mile journey to Mr. Wolf's combat ring. While Adam enjoyed dabbling with martial arts and self defense, he enjoyed computer opponents over his comrades. In the years Parsons was a Starfleet officer, he had injured several crewmates in physical combat training and had been injured himself more than once. His opinion was that he would much rather be hurting an enemy. Although the security chief did not enjoy killing or combat with enemy forces, he had proven himself in battle many times.
Adam continued down the path to Wolf, visualizing the coming struggle. He knew this Marine would be a worthy adversary.

Wolf: Looked up when he heard someone running on the trail. Thinking to himself he made good time on the run. As he watched Commander Parsons growing closer he entered the circle. When Commander Parsons arrived wolf smiled this should be very intersting he thought to himself.
" Commander the object is to get me out of the circle my any means using hand to hand combat. You are not limited to any style you are the security chief and in my mind must you have to beable to draw on any style of fighting. You may rest for a few mins enter the circle when ready." <Tag Parsons>
Wolf sat down and closed his eyes to prepare him self for what was about to come. He had no intention of turning this into a fight to see who was better. He just needed to know how many styles of fighting the commander knew. Since there knowledge should be about the same because of the career fields he took this as learning experince.

Travor was wondering around the promenode when he got word that the El Salvador was docking. He quickly head to the docking port where the El Sal was going to be at. As the ship docked and the doors opened, he entered. Although he didn't study the specs of this ship, he was somewhat familiar with the Prometheus Class vessels. He said, "Computer, what is the location of Commander Savot?"
~Commander Savot is on the Bridge~
"Thank you computer," he said as he made his way to the bridge. Upon entering, he noticed the Vulcan Commander standing in the middle of the Bridge. He walked up and said, "Sir, Commander Gonto reporting as ordered."

"Sir, Commander Gonto reporting as ordered."
Savot, having just recently returned from his portion of the debrief report aboard the Assailant, turned his head upon hearing the turbolift doors open and saw the El Salvador's new helmsman step forward onto the bridge. The vulcan First Officer nodded his head politely in the Commander's direction and picked up a PADD that had been lying on the arm of the captain's chair. "Welcome aboard Commander Gonto. I am Savot, the El Salvador's First Officer. The Captain is currently aboard Assailant completing a debrief but will make your acquaintance as soon as time permits."
Savot handed the PADD out to the newly arrived Commander, "This contains your boarding information, location of quarters and the other main facilities aboard ship. Naturally as we are currently docked there will be no immediate call for your abilities and as such you are effectively off-duty and may pursue what personal activities you so desire. The remaining senior officers are currently undergoing a training drill under our senior Marine officer Captain Wolf so it may be some hours until you encounter them. If you wish you are welcome to attend the drill yourself, though due to your recent arrival it will not be mandatory at this time. You're dismissed, unless you have any questions or concerns?"

Judd had run about ten kilometers in a little under seven minutes. Not exactly up to his college time, but respectable, even so. Besides, he wanted to save up some energy for the basketball court.
He stopped where he had left his bag, took out a towel, and mopped the perspiration from his face. As he picked up his bag and headed for the basketball courts, he wondered if there were enough people around for a pick-up game.
He wasn't disappointed. Within ten minutes of his arrival at the courts, Judd had his basketball shoes on, and was running up and down the court with nine other players, having a grand time playing his favorite sport.

Wolf: Remained seated in the circle he had closed his eye's and concentrated on his sense. He waited for the commander to make a move. Knowing that Security chiefs are not use to attacking they didn't go looking for fights but he wanted to see what commander Parsons could do. waiting for the slightest change in the enviroment he was attuned to it. a breezes a noise a viberation and he would be up waiting for the strike.

Kevin had made a concentrated effort to regain his lost technique when it came to playing the trumpet, but practicing simply wasn't anywhere near as fun as playing with other living, breathing people. No matter how sophisticated a computer program might be, it wasn't the same. Even holograms had the tendancy to fail to quite measure up to real people, though they came very close. Even with the holograms, though, Kevin had decided that four hours was more than enough time to begin seriously refreshing his familiarity with the trumpet, and so he had hit the slopes.
Skiing was still Kevin's favorite pasttime, and he had picked out an alien slope for this occasion. He typically chose the Alps from Earth, and occasionally the mountains in what had once been 'Utah' (Kevin still wasn't sure where Utah was, and he only knew that it had once been part of the pre-WWIII United States of America), but there was something to be said for the slopes of Elypsia, which had been settled in the lates 2200s and then essentially forgotten. The colonists had been part of the Federation prior to settling the planet, and had made sure the planet became a member as soon as they had organised their government. The gigantic mountains had always been seen as territory no sane humanoid would enter: even Klingons had frozen to death in the dangerous climbs that the giant mountains boasted. But ski companies such as Edge, Inc. and the Nike Corporation had jumped at the sight of the mountains when someone finally pointed out the possibilities. Weather satelites had allowed the mountains to thaw considerably, and while this may had caused the oceans to become more violent, no body partiularly cared when the first wave or tourists practically threw money at the inhabitants and the corporations which had thrown up over a dozen large resorts, mountain climbing opportunities for the most daring, and above all, skiing.
The tallest mountain was over five times higher that Mount Everest was on Earth from sea level, and the ski trail came within two hundred feet of making it all the way down to the watery fjord at the bottom of the mountain. Kevin launched himself from the peak and began to rush down the side of the mountain, fresh powder flying into the air behind him.

Adam entered the combat circle after catching his breath and bowed to Captain Wolf. The Marine appeared to be in top physical shape, and Parsons had no doubt that Wolf was well school in martial arts.
The CTSO approached and Wolf remained motionless. Parsons hands were up and he was ready, but Wolf did not strike. "Are you ready, Mr. Wolf?" Parsons was trained primarily in defensive tactics and was unused to striking the first blow.
"Ready when you are, Commander," replied the marine officer.
Parsons led with a right cross but did not connect. Wolf responded by grabbing the CTSO's arm. Adam spun and using both arms put Wolf into an arm bar...Unfortunately Wolf was still upright and manuevering....

Wolf: Sense picked up on the incoming blow before he needed to open his eyes. Wolf smiled his trick of force the commander to attack only half work the attack was good but the arm bar that parsosn threw on him was better. Still wolf twisted himself around and broke the arm bar he had to strained some muclse to do Commander Parsons was a lot stronger then he appeared. Something he would keep in mind instead of attacking he stood there looking at the commander forceing him to attack again.
" Commander I know your defense is as good as mine or better because of your postion, but I'm still in the circle you will have to keep attacking until you force me out. Start thinking about attack it will come back to you very quickly you use to much defense for you to have forgetten there all the same just differnt moves they will come back quicker then you know. By the way nice arm bar I had to strain a little to break it" <Tag Parsons>
Watching the commander wolf stood still this would be very intersting and a good work out a couple more strikes and he would allow parsons to throw him out. Well chances are he would throw me out sooner or later using take down moves.
" Your doing good commander all I ask is dont fall back on the basic use what you know, If its any concellation for you its just as hard on me to use defense as it is for you to use attack Marines are trained for attack defense is secoundary for us so we are both on the same playing field."<Tag Parsons>

Judd bounced the basketball, looking the defender in the eye, as he prepared to make his move. He feinted to the left, drawing the defender out of position, then stopped short, squared up, and fired off a sixteen-foot jumpshot that went through the nylon net with a floop, never touching the orange hoop. "Game!" Judd declared, to general applause.
Judd went over to the side and picked up his towel. As he mopped his face, one of the spectators came over. He was a tall black man in his mid-twenties. "Man, you sure got some moves out there," he said. "Where'd you learn to play hoops like that?"
Judd just grinned and pointed at his University of Tennessee shirt. "Varsity basketball, won the FCAA Division One championship in 2390."
The black man just walked away, shaking his head and laughing. Judd, still grinning, packed up his gear and headed back to the El Sal.

*Deis walked back aboard her ship via the docking umbillical following her debrief with the current station higher-ups. She had waved to Savot as he left the main office from giving his portion of the debrief that occurred during his command of the ship, and had then gone in herself to give the final word on the Corinian situation as well as make her personal report on the medical mission she'd been reassigned for.*
*The lights aboard ship were low but not hugely dim while the ship was docked and Irae strode through her vessel to arrive back at her quarters. Keying in her passcode the petite Irish woman gave a slight sigh as she set her small briefcase down at her workdesk and began removing the pips from her collar one by one. Removing the overshirt portion of her uniform to reveal the full crimson underlay Deis also took out the pins holding her hair in regulation pattern and let her blonde-ish locks fall about her shoulders.*
*She felt too tired from the past several weeks' irregularities to even change out of her whole uniform into her casual clothing. Treating herself to a cup of coffee from the replicator, the El Salvador's Captain sat herself down on the floor, her legs crossed in what they called indian-style, by the small table in her room that held her coveted bonsai tree.*
*A small pair of clippers in her right hand, and the comforting wisps of steam rising from the cup of coffee at her left, Deis let herself get lost for the moment in some artfully abstract shaping of her dear tree, Ealanor.*

Wolf: Watched as commander Parsons blow were getting better and better. It would appear that he was starting to get a better feel for the combat. Not want to push it to far he allowed some of the blows to land to push him to edge of the circle. Looking at commander Parsons and feeling pretty good about there little match wolf stepped outside the circle to end the match.
" You did great Commander I hope there's never a time that we have to do this for really you would make a great challenge for me"
Wolf: Watched as commander Parsons left the holodeck he had new found respect for him. Looking at his watch and check for the captain on the ship he signaled her that he was ready for her. This was the one test he wasn't looking forward to just doesn't seem right.
Tapping his combadge " Captain Irae I'm ready for you in holodeck 3, the run will not be to bad and I will be waiting for you in the circle after wards bring what ever items you might want for the combat circle" <Tag Irae>
Sitting back donw and clearing his mind he went to the spirit world looking for guidance on how to handle the captain. In his world mother wolf appeared and told him not to worry that great leaders are full many abilities and that the captain would do just fine. Still resting from his drill's witht he commander he realized it had taken a little more out of him then he thought slowing his breathing he waited.

<A bit of backposting to catch up>
Parsons struck at Wolf repeatedly and in varying styles. Most of the blows were blocked, but some landed, driving Wolf slightly closer to the edge of the circle each time.
Wolf also attacked intermittently, most being blocked by the CTSO, as his specialty was defensive tactics, but a couple landed. Parsons drove the Marine slowly to edge of the circle and Wolf stepped out.
"That was too easy," Parsons thought to himself, "Wolf was holding back." The encounter was a workout for both men, but it was not the protracted struggle Adam had imagined. Parsons reminded himself of the point of the exercise as described by the Marine Captain and bowed slightly to Wolf before heading for the exit.
Adam got back to his quarters and plopped down in a comfortable chair for a few minutes. After a brief rest, Parsons showered and got half dressed. He sat at his desk drinking a cool glass of water, while reviewing the security roster for the time the El Sal would be docked at the starbase.

It had been a while since Ethan visited Earth and it just as he remembered it. To be precise Ethan visted the great state of Texas. His mother's family was from the Houston area and he felt that it was an appropiate time as any to rediscover some of his family history.
While he was there, Ethan made sure to visit the old NASA complex, the muesum district, his mother's alma mater. It hard to believe that all these things had actually survived all this time. World War III distroyed almost every major city, but for some reason these things survived.
"Welcome, Commander, would you like a tour?" a man asked noticing that Ethan was a bit lost.
"No, I want this to be a real tourist experience," Ethan said smiling," which involves getting lost."
"Fair enough," the man responded," though make sure to visit the ship channel. It's hard to believe that it is still operational."
"Thanks, I didn't know that tidbit of information," Ethan said as he continued on his tour of the Earth city.

=^= Captain Irae I'm ready for you in holodeck 3, the run will not be to bad and I will be waiting for you in the circle after wards bring what ever items you might want for the combat circle. =^=
::Wolf's message came through over the comm's just as her coffee reached that perfect drinking temperature. She let out a single sigh of frustration at the constancy of Murphy's Law, then hopped to her feet to go lead by example. Changing from the rest of her duty uniform into a more exercise-suited garb, the Irish Captain put her coffee cup back into the replicator to be dissolved back into the ship's matter/energy stores and made her way to the holodeck.::
::The mechanized thrum of the holodeck doors announced Deis' arrival, and as the sound repeated itself to mark their closing she began a short series of warmup stretches. Taking a couple of deep breaths in and out to ready herself for the run, she had just pushed off on her right foot to start the trek when the tell-tale chime of the comm-system rang out in the holodeck, =^= Captain Irae, emergency message coming in from the Starbase ma'am. =^= ::
::This time she couldn't fight the urge to roll her eyes at the poor timing the entire universe seemed to share sometimes. "Computer, arch." As the arched entryway came into view Deis walked over and tapped the viewing console to receive the message coming through from Assailant.::
"Damn...", Deis said softly but firmly as the words came to life on the screen. "Computer, save curren' program an' end."
::Though in the program Wolf was about a mile away, once the program was shut down he appeared a mere 30 feet away near the other end of the black and yellow grid-marked room. "Afraid we'll be havin' t' postpone yer tests, Marine. Emergency orders jus' came through from Command. Staff meetin' in the conference room in 20 minutes. Get yerself changed and meet there; I'll 'ave Savot notify the others."::
<Tag Wolf if you want to add a response>
::Exitting the holodeck Deis headed right back for her quarters no more than 10 minutes after leaving them. She should have just enough time to grab a sonic shower and still make the briefing on-time.::
<Everyone, Savot should be callin' the briefing soon and he knows the initial details. My comp just conked out on me this weekend and I'm postin' this from a friend's. Planning on being back by this next weekend if all goes well. Savot, who'd actually been sleeping for a change, acknowledged the orders promptly and quickly made his way to the bridge after getting back into uniform. Relieving the 2nd shift Lt. Leaning back from the console Savot then queried the computer, "Computer, list of ship's personnel not currently aboard ship or on Starbase Assailant."
=^= Lieutenant Commander Ethan Hope cannot be located at either of the specified locations. =^=
Savot's hands went back to Ethan's console and initiated a scan for the officer's combadge signal. It took only moments and the vulcan was then able to open a channel, =^= Savot to Commander Hope. Wolf: Heard the captain enter the holodeck and was about to begin when a incoming hail stoped her. It appeared a captain job was never done. All of a sudden the program end he looked up to see the captain at the arch when she spoke to him.
"Afraid we'll be havin' t' postpone yer tests, Marine. Emergency orders jus' came through from Command. Staff meetin' in the conference room in 20 minutes. Get yerself changed and meet there; I'll 'ave Savot notify the others."::
Looking back at his captain and smiling for a moment, taking the chance to try and be funny. " You know captain as he walked over to her to exit with this permotion to major I think I'm going to miss being called Captain." Laughing alittle hoping she got the joke he exited the holodeck to head to his quarters.
He changed as quickly as he could and head to the bridge intime to see Commander Savot recalling the senior staff. Walking over to the confrence room and enterying he was the first one there but waited for the others before he took a seat.

Judd was sitting in a small, out-of-the-way nook on SB Assailant, indulging in a rare treat. The room was dark, apart from the antique film projector on the table next to him. A roll of ancient celluloid film was slithering through the machine, and a flickering image was projected on the screen three meters away. The film included a scratchy, monaural audio track. Judd watch raptly.
On the screen, a somewhat elderly-looking man with a patch over one eye sat on a horse, confronting three other men on horses.
"That's bold talk for a one-eyed fat man!"
"Fill your hand, you son-of-a-b**ch!"
Antique firearms blazed away, then Judd's communicator demanded attention.

Judd sighed, and pressed a control. The firearms stopped their shattering reports, and the image on the screen faded to dark. "Computer, lights."
The lights came up obediently, and Judd quickly wheeled the projector to an environmentally-ccontrolled storage cabinet, then hurried back to the El Sal.
He arrived in the conference room with a few minutes to spare, and saw that Wolf had already arrived. Then he noticed the new insignia on Wolf's collar. "Wow, a Major already! Are you looking to collect the entire set of Marine rank insignia in one tour?"

Sitting cross legged on the floor, Travor was practicing the methods of control that he had learned a while back. He had envisioned a tiny pebble in his mind. He saw it growing, but he wanted it to stay as small as possible. So as it was growing, he was using his mind to keep it small. He was so engrossed in what he was doing, he didn't hear CMDR Savot's call to report to the briefing room. Luckily for him, the call woke Kaath, a brown fire-lizard, who was snoozing on Travor's bed. Kaath flew over and landed on Travor's shoulder, snapping him out of his trance.
"What is it, Kaath?" Travor asked.
Kaath showed him a vision of a briefing room and chirped loudly. "OK, I think I understand. I need to go to the briefing room. Are you going to stay here?" Travor replied.
Kaath flew from his shoulder and landed on the bed to return to his slumber. "I think that is a yes. Enjoy your sleep," Travor answered his own question.
Travor got up and straightened his tunic out. He look over his room and saw that his favorite possession, a 18th Century Long Sword, was laying on the floor.. He reached across the room with his mind and placed it back on its pegs. He left his quarters and headed toward the briefing room, He got there with about 1 minute to spare. He quickly looked around the room and, seeing that it was almost full, took the only empty chair along the side, leaving the head of the table for the captain.

Parsons wished he could go on the next mission with the rest of the El Salvador crew, but he was on his way to another mission. The CTSO had applied and been accepted for an advanced training program in the areas of Command and Tactics. Adam had packed up his gear on the El Sal and had it transfered to a transport docked at Assailant. The notice for the new mission came as he was boarding the transport bound for Starbase Conqueror. From there he would take temporary command of the USS Hope, a Galaxy II class vessel docked there.
After completing this training, Parsons could be sent back to the El Salvador, or to another ship, depending on Starfleet's need at the time. As the transport warped out of the system, Adam wondered what lay in store for him.
