Savot's brow furrowed in concern as Hope valiantly attacked the Klingon to prevent his capture. Before he could put voice to orders for Hope to stand down the fight seemed to be over; he couldn't see either Hope or Forbes directly in the viewscreen but the length of time it took the Klingon to return to view suggested at least one of them was still alive to require binding. She wore a smug look of victory as she concluded their dialogue, =^=Don’t get your hopes up Vulcan… I am still alive… you now have nine minutes to leave your ship.=^=
The channel was closed abruptly and the vulcan immediately sprung to action, but with calm and controlled steps. He sent instructions to sickbay to have the supplies loaded onto one of the shuttles he'd had readied earlier, and left the bridge in the care of the ranking officer. He noted for future reference as the turbolift doors enveloped him that he could no longer put off the matter of replacing Kevin as First Officer. He'd tried to put it off, quite illogically he admitted to himself, as Zimmerman had been the longest serving crewman still aboard besides the vulcan himself after Deis had left. But for the good of the ship there was simply no more avoiding the issue.
*******************************
The vulcan strode into the main shuttlebay having armed himself with a vulcan trillpa sword and a tricorder. A nurse stood near the open rear-hatch of the type 11 shuttlecraft Chepstow, the Starfleet Medical emblem emblazoned on numerous crates therein, and nodded to the captain as he approached, "Everything's been loaded as ordered, sir. Pre-flight checklist was already performed and you're for cleared takeoff."
Savot nodded both understanding and gratitude, and moved to board the craft. As the rear door began to close the nurse spoke again, "Captain?... Good luck, sir." The slight arching of a brow was his first response, but he then bowed his head in polite thanks just before their line-of-sight was cut off. The flight deck cleared, he pilotted the Chepstow through the shuttlebay forcefields and briefly out into the blackness of space before entering the planet's atmosphere.
*******************************
As the flames of atmospheric entry wreathed the shuttle, Savot again opened a channel to the Mini-Sal. Upon it's activation from the other end, Savot nodded slightly to the Klingon woman, "As promised, this shuttle contains medical supplies and I am unaccompanied which you can verify via sensor scan. I'm transmitting my landing coordinates to the Mini-Sal's navigational computer, and if you wish to inspect the medical supplies you may transport any of the kits to your location; the crates are fitted with transport enhancers to allow the random selection and transport of a single kit through my shields. You have my word as a Starfleet officer that all have identical contents."
A few seconds passed and the shimmery chime of a transporter effect claimed one of the medkits, which then materialized in the Mini-Sal, and as the woman looked over the contents which were indeed all medical supplies, hyposprays and various medications, Savot activated a series of controls from his console and kept his promise to transmit his shuttle's intended landing location to her. After examining the kit and receiving the coordinates, the captor chuckled arrogantly and revealed jagged teeth as she grinned, =^=Very good, captain. Contact me when you've landed and we'll begin the release.=^= Maintaining her hold on the upper hand, she closed the channel without letting Savot respond, though in truth there was nothing more that needed to be said for the time.
Just before rising from the pilot's chair, the vulcan captain caught the flicker of a golden object out of the corner of his peripheral vision. Moving to look at it more intently, he believed it was the draconian creature that accompanied Commander Hope. The shuttle had slowed sufficiently upon reaching treetop level that the flyer had no difficulty keeping pace with them; it seemed the creature had managed to recognize him through the craft's forward viewport. The creature didn't appear to be in any distress, and the vulcan had little choice but to continue with his plan.
Taking the tricorder from his hip and flipping it open he entered a series of commands into the shuttle's navicomputer, double-checked the connection with the tricorder, then nodded in satisfaction and made for the rear of the shuttle. Tricorder in hand and sword sheathed at his hip, Savot issued a vocal command to the computer, "Energize."

(Apologies for the double-post, but the length made it easier to write and read this way.)
Since Savot knew his shuttle's shield nutation it was possible, if still not altogether recommended, to transport to the surface while the craft's shields were still up. Looking to the tricorder as he materialized to confirm both his location and the shuttle's continued trajectory, he nodded in mild satisfaction and made his way towards the Mini-Sal's location. He'd had to beam down about 3/4 of a kilometer from the Mini-Sal to get outside the dampening field's effects, but the terrain was not so incongruous that he couldn't traverse the distance quickly at a full run. Grateful for the stamina he'd developed from decades of practicing vulcan martial arts, the vulcan captain approached the Mini-Sal just prior to his next scheduled contact with the Klingon.
Looking at the tricorder's readout showed him the Chepstow was arriving at the landing coordinates he'd given the Klingon. Trillpa drawn in his right hand, tricorder open in his left, Savot approached the hatch of the shuttle to a distance of about 5 meters and stopped. Pointing his blade towards the shuttle, the vulcan called out, "Daughter of Kahless, I challenge you to single combat for the lives of my officers. Face me, and cleanse your tarnished honor."
Outraged, the Klingon roared from within the shuttle, not stupid enough to approach the hatch in case the vulcan carried a firearm, "Lying vulcan p'tahg! You swore you alone would pilot the shuttle!"
Savot elevated his left hand indicating the open tricorder, "That is still the case, madame, albeit remotely." Catching sight of her face in the forward viewport, Savot was able to see her expression change instantaneously from one of outrage to disbelieving amusement. The federation puppet actually intended to face her in melee combat!
Grabbing disruptor in one hand and yanking the bound Commander Hope with the other she appeared in the open hatchway, holding the disruptor against the Romulan's right temple. The Klingon laughed as she stood triumphant over the moronic starfleet captain, "You go to the trouble of catching me off guard with your remote trick... and then give up that advantage by calling me out?! I can pull this trigger and kill your Romulan before you so much as twitch a finger."
His expression falling a bit with a resigned sigh, Savot lowered his blade till its point touched the soil. Guffawing at the vulcan's defeat, the captor continued, "Did you really think I would yield the overwhelming advantage for the sake of some antiquated sense of honor?" She said the word as though she wished to spit out its taste.
Savot shook his head slowly, almost sadly, as he replied, "No." A slight hiss was the only sound heard, and before the echo of it had fully faded the Klingon's body went completely limp and fell forward, rolling off of Hope's right shoulder to stare with shock towards the sky completely immobilized. Her fall revealed the image of the El Salvador's EMH now standing behind Commander Hope, hypospray in hand, its contents now within the Klingon's bloodstream.
"As a matter of fact I didn't", Savot finished speaking even as he moved forward, reversing the grip of the sword in his hands so the pommel pointed skyward, using the smaller blade that curved protectively in front of the wielder's fingers to cut the bonds on Hope's hands and feet. Gently escorting the Commander to a chair, Savot then recovered the paralyzed Klingon and closed the Mini-Sal's hatch to avoid a repeat of the recent scenario.
As the Doctor checked Forbes' condition, Savot sat across from Hope and used the med-kit to apply basic first aid and dermal regeneration to Hope's disruptor burns, "Are you all right, Commander Hope?"

There was no fear as she was yanked to her feet, the disruptor barrel pressed against her temple. Yet, the Romulan trembled in suppressed rage, for various reasons. She heard the defeat in the Vulcan's voice, but felt that it wasn't quite genuine even though she couldn't understand how or why. She listened with growing rage at the Klingon's taunting and her captain's responses, before suddenly the woman fell against her and then fell away.
She felt her bonds being cut and she rubbed her wrists carefully, before she felt hands on her arm, guiding her. Reaching, she found a seat and allowed herself to be guided into it. Involuntary, she winced as she sat, while listening to what was happening. The Vulcan's voice brought her attention back upon him. "Yes captain, I'm fine," she answered, still struggling for calm.
S'reena failed miserably at trying to keep her calm. Knowing that the Vulcan was sat directly across from her, she swung her left arm out and felt it connect with...something. Of course, striking at a superior officer was a court martial offense but right now she didn't really care. "She could've killed you," she snapped, cradling her now sore fingers, while allowing the Vulcan to continue the treatment of her injuries.
Of course, she couldn't tell what she had struck, all she knew was that it hadn't budged and that it had hurt her hand. It could've been the captain, but it could equally have been something else. "That was the most stupid thing I've ever seen a starfleet captain do," she continued, "trading yourself for us, what were you thinking?"
Her head snapped around when she heard a moan from the floor. "Ian? Ian, are you all right?" Captain forgotten, her concern was now directed at her science officer.
Lieutenant Ian Forbes opened his eyes, groaning a second time, batting the hands of the EMH away. "Lemmup," he drawled drunkenly, before any stimulant could take effect. "Oooh m'head," he continued, his voice ending in a wail.
S'reena nearly smiled. "You tried to play hero," she informed him, an edge of humour to her voice, "surely you know Klingons are harder than you are, and certainly that a console is harder than your head?"
Sighing, Forbes crawled forward, his face twisted into a mix of pain and misery. "Aye," he answered, "I know. Thank you captain, for the rescue." He looked up into the Vulcan's impassive eyes, before crawling back to his feet, using his chief's seat for support.
S'reena snorted, starting to feel better herself too. "Indeed," she answered dryly, almost Vulcan-like, "thank you captain, though I believe I strongly advised against it. I take it you didn't receive Auric's warning?"
The golden firelizard chirped when she heard her name, crawling up to her bondmate, crooning softly. "How can I be angry with you little one," the Romulan murmured under her breath, "you can't help it if he doesn't listen. No love, it's not your fault."
Ian chuckled softly. "How about we get back to the ship or try to find the rest of the team?" he asked. "Captain, is Meadows all right? He was badly hurt..."

The sound he had heard had slowed him down he hadn't moved hoping to pick up on it again. He knew time was of the essence and by know the Captain would already be on the planet. Things just seemed not to be going his way at all he had lost his captain half of his team and there hold on the weapon would not last much longer.
Tapping his combadge " Roberts if you can hear quitely make your way back to me use your tricorder to locate me but be very quite. I heard something and it wasn't the Breen not sure what it was" <Tag Roberts>
He was hoping that it might be Commander Jackson if he found her then he could make his way to the surface and let her deal with the weapon. He could then work on trying to rescues Hope and his Captain.
OCC okay lets try and wrap up our part okay Roberts head back to me please.

Stacey was feeling weak her vision had begun to go blurry, and her muscles seemed to want to give up, she looked up slowly to see the Klingon asleep with his head against the rock wall, she knew this may be her only chance to escape, she slowly crawled closer to him making as little sound as she could.
When she was within distance she grabbed his disruptor from his waist belt and grinned at the ease, she stood slowly and her legs wobbled a bit as she did.
She stood silent for a while pointing the disruptor at kathar she had it set to kill and for the briefest moment she was going to fire, but she didn’t instead she turned and snuck to the door.
She pressed the padd and scoffed at the over confidence of Kathar to leave her untied and the door unlocked, it was clear to her assumed he had broken her will.
As she stepped out, the door closed behind her. She pointed the disruptor at the door and fired, the beam welded the door seam together trapping Kathar in.
She breathed a sigh of relief, before stumbling along the dark corridor, losing even more blood as she did.
She made it only a hundred metres before her legs gave out and she collapsed in a heap on the floor.
She yelled as loud as she could muster.
“Help me.”
She didn’t know if it would be heard she assumed not, the last thing she had heard over the comm. Was Colonel Wolf offer himself up for trade instead of the captain, the situation confused her, but for all she knew her screams would attract the attention of a breen guard instead of one of her crewmates.

Stalking the cavern, like a lion may hunt it's pray, John, and his team crept up toward it. The silence was broken, by the sound of disrupter fire. "GO!" John shouted, he couldn't risk waiting any more. Within seconds his team stormed throuch the mouth of the cavern opened, revealing Commander Jackson semi conscious, during his rush to Jackson, John had missed something vital, as he feel to the ground him self, he realized, "KATHAR!" John barked, as he fell on the metal hanger bay floor. a searing pain an up his arm, the agony blurred his senses, but he soon regained control, something he an acquired during his youth and all the fights he had got into, the pain doesn't help you fulfill the task in hand. Climbing to his feet, slowly, holding his arm, "Gonzalez, use a dermal re-generator on Commander Jackson here" as John said it, his comm badge chirped.
" Roberts if you can hear quietly make your way back to me use your tricorder to locate me but be very quite. I heard something and it wasn't the Breen not sure what it was"
"Aye sir, I will be a few minutes at least, Jackson is in a bad way, stab wound to her abdomen, she needs treatment, I will leave her here under the guard of several security officers, in the mean time I suggest we rendezvous, I'll come to you wolf, hold tight, and good luck Roberts out"
As he pressed his comm badge he pointed at several officers "You, you and you, come with me, the rest of you guard Jackson, Gonzalez keep monitoring her vitals, let me know when she re awakens"
He nodded, and then John, followed by Bounden, Phoenix and Solaris followed him out back toward wolf.

As Savot began selecting implements from the med-kit, he could perceive a significant amount of irritation coming from S'reena, the majority of which seemed to target him at present. As he leaned his head over the dermal regenerator to input the required settings, several of his senses went on alert simultaneously.
Both the feel and sound of the air it cut, the shadow it made that flew across the carpeted deck of the shuttle, and a barely-perceived movement in the vulcan's peripheral vision all coalesced into the left arm of the Romulan science chief, swinging in his direction. Before the brain even had time to fully register the incoming object, instinct and muscle-memory took over and the knife-edge of his right hand met the center of her 4 extended fingers.
As quickly as the impact was made, Savot's hand continued its motion, flowing between her thumb and index finger to contour his palm against the back of her hand. Wordlessly, he curved his own hand to orient Hope's palm-upward, and worked the regenerator in his left hand to treat the minor abrasions caused by the binding that had been on Hope's wrists. With no outward sign as to how he'd perceived the intention of her arm movement, he treated the abrasions as though she gently volunteered her hand for treatment.
Perhaps surprised at the vulcan's reaction, S'reena snapped, "She could've killed you." Savot nodded agreement as he finished treating the rope burns and pulled his hand back from hers, "Entirely possible, I concur."
"That was the most stupid thing I've ever seen a starfleet captain do," she continued, "trading yourself for us, what were you thinking?"
Giving a tilted nod, possibly in agreement with her assessment, he replied, "For a time, I was thinking the suggested trade might very well have been necessary to ensure the crew's safety. However, upon my request for the medical supplies I agreed to trade, the good Doctor requested to view the dialogue and was quite adamant in his conclusion, based on her voice inflections and body language, that she had no intention of fulfilling her part of the agreement. At which point, a new strategy seemed prudent."
Savot showed no offense, indeed was inwardly pleased at Hope's concern for her comrade-in-arms so to speak, as the Romulan's attention shifted to the recovering Forbes. After a short exchange between the two the man spoke to Savot, "Thank you captain, for the rescue." He looked up into the Vulcan's impassive eyes, before crawling back to his feet, using his chief's seat for support.
S'reena snorted. "Indeed," she answered dryly, almost Vulcan-like, "thank you captain, though I believe I strongly advised against it. I take it you didn't receive Auric's warning?"
Savot bowed his head to both Forbes and Hope in response to their thanks, "I did encounter your familiar, actually, just before beaming out of the Chepstow. It would seem my unorthodox departure prevented the relaying of your message."
The EMH interjected himself while he finished treating Forbes now that he'd become stationary, "Mr. Meadows is going to be fine. He'll require several days of observation I imagine, but should fully recover within 2 weeks. Your husband is treating him, Commander, as a matter of fact." The doctor turned his holographic head towards Hope with his final sentence.
Before Savot could reply, his commbadge chirped to life with the frantic voice of Steven Lee, one of Roberts' security men, =^=Away team to Captain! We've recovered Jackson; don't go through with the exchange!! Repeat, we've recovered Counselor Jackson; but she's seriously injured, request emergency beamout!=^=.
The first time Lee said Jackson Savot was in motion to the co-pilot's chair using the sensors to triangulate on Lee's comm signal. It wasn't hard afterwards to isolate the Betazoid portion of Jackson's genome, and the vulcan tapped his badge to respond even as he worked the console, nodding to the EMH who pressed a control on the rear wall to extend a bed, =^=This is Savot; with the Counselor's retrieval the hostage situation has been resolved. Commander Hope and the Mini-Sal have been recovered as well; the EMH is aboard so I'm transporting Jackson here for treatment. Your orders are to converge on Colonel Wolf's position and maintain possession of the weapon until we determine how to dismantle it safely. Savot out.=^=
As the communication ended, the Counselor's body sparkled into existence on the rear bed shelf, and the Doctor began work immediately, though his simulated expression showed grief over the horrific treatment of Commander Jackson. "I'll give you a report when she's stabilized", he said pre-emptively to intercept the most common question, Would she be all right?
Savot eye's narrowed ever so slightly at the beleagured appearance of the El Salvador's Counselor, though he immediately shifted his focus to what he could actually affect. He looked to Hope as he spoke, "Commander you may beam back to the ship to have your more serious injuries treated if you wish. I'm prepared to remain until the threat of the weapon has been eliminated, and should my presence be required within the Doctor is capable of pilotting the Mini-Sal to retrieve the rest of the away team."
Without shifting an iota of attention from his patient, the Doctor nevertheless responded right away, "I'm a doctor, not a valet."
Arching an eyebrow and looking in the Doctor's direction for a moment, Savot then re-directed his gaze to his Science Officer to await her choice.

Hearing Captain savots voice and his up date he felt relieved for the first time in hours. Still with all the changes things where moving quickly. The sound he he heard was getting louder slowly he inched closer until he he see what it was. The Breen were moving a rather large phaser cannon to the weapons location. The door would not take to many hits from that thing even still the breen were risking damage to the weapon.
Turning around he head back to the weapons room no longer concerned about hiding. Theywould be there in a few minutes them selves. He sent the signal and he entered the room again quickly looking at his team. We need to sheild the door they have a rather large key and I would like to change the lock. He team scramble setting up a mobile sheild generater. It wouldn't last log but every minute counted looking back at the weapon he was seeing very little choice either help arrived soon or he was going to blow it up himself.<tag anybody>

"What, and miss all the fun?" S'reena feigned being shocked, though she felt far from confident. "Not on your life captain, I'm staying."
She raised an eyebrow of her own, tilting her head ever so slightly. "Unless you make it an order of course, in which case I have no choice but to go back to the ship. However, since Stacey's injured, she might need some moral support, so I'm staying."
This time, she held out both hands, palms faced up. "Please help me up, I'd like to go outside."
Ian frowned, gazing from chief to captain, then back to chief, rolling his eyes in annoyance. "Women," he scowled fiercely, "women and vulcans both....if this wasn't so annoyingly amusing..." He trailed off, as suddenly Stacey's form appeared on a make-shift bed. "Oh dear.."
"What?" S'reena demanded, turning when she was finally on her feet.
"Stacey," the science officer answered flatly, "bad shape too. No, don't approach, she won't know you're here. Looks like she's unconscious."
"Take me to her," the Romulan pleaded, "I want to sit with her. Take me to her!"
Ian looked up at Savot. "Sir?" he queried, anxiously awaiting orders, hoping his boss would be sent back to the ship. She was in no condition to be of comfort to anyone, not in this state of mind.

He looked around the room his team had done everything possible to secure the room. The shield generator would only work for a short time maybe one or two shots from the phaser cannon after that the door would take the brunt of it. Looking at the door he knew it would not last log either they were running out of time.
Looking around it was time to make some choices and the first one was the safety of his team. They didn't all need to be here he could handle triggering the charges himself if it came to that. The only problem was they would have be done manualy they couldn't do it by remote the room was to well sheilded for that. He couldn't set a timer because he couldn't guess how long it would take the Breen to get it. Looking back he made his decision with one look the team gathered the gear.
" Get to the surface and make sure the captain and the team are secure. I want them off the planet as soon as possible. Also if you can get Commander Jackson on the line maybe she can help me disarm it or at least make sure we placed the charges at the right locations to make this work."
Walking back over to the communication console he notice something, something he had hoped might be missed by the team on the surface. It appeared the klingons were not to stupid after all they had sent a message to the romulan ship to check on his story. It appeared they were very interested. He hoped nobody would pick up on that there would be to many questions asked if he lived through the next 15 mins.
tapping the controls " Captain Savot I have control of the weapon even for a brief time, I have sent my team back to the surface they should be joining you shortly. The breen will get back into this room in about 10 to 15 mins depending how determined they are. I need what ever assistance you can provide. If Commander Jackson is away I need her on the line as soon as possible. Please do not attempt to come after me you have already place yourself in enough danger and you would not make it in time. I'm hoping to disarm the weapon or blow it up I will try and make it back if possible if not well I'm sure the hunting grounds are great at this time of year" <Tag Anybody>

"What, and miss all the fun?" S'reena said, "Not on your life captain, I'm staying."
She raised an eyebrow of her own, tilting her head ever so slightly. "Unless you make it an order of course, in which case I have no choice but to go back to the ship. However, since Stacey's injured, she might need some moral support, so I'm staying."
Savot inclined his chin slightly, "If I'd intended to order you, it wouldn't have been professional of me to present the facade of a choice."
This time, she held out both hands, palms faced up. "Please help me up, I'd like to go outside." The vulcan gently placed each of his hands into Hope's and they rose from their respective chairs.
Ian frowned, gazing from chief to captain, then back to chief, rolling his eyes.
"Sir?" he queried, seeming anxious for orders, guidance in some direction, and clearly concerned for his superior's own well-being.
Savot, resuming his guiding grip on the Romulan's hands, began to move toward the makeshift biobed. He spoke to Forbes, gesturing forward towards the main console, "There should be a communications link between Main Engineering and the room containing the weapon here on the surface. Patch in and assist the ship in guiding Colonel Wolf's team through disarmament. Though we may not understand the full mechanism, we should be able to determine the purpose served by the Federation technology within and ascertain a method of disabling the device safely."
The vulcan wordlessly caught the attention of the EMH as he moved to treat the wounded Counselor, and with a twist of his head the holographic physician indicated the opposite side of the biobed as an area where Hope could sit without hindering the treatment. Savot activated the wall control that extended a chair on what would be the bed's left side to a person standing at the foot of it, and guided Hope down onto it. It was likely that in her current state Hope might be ill-suited to providing Jackson with moral support, but Savot thought that allowing Hope to remain at her friend's side might well be the most likely thing to give the Romulan moral support.
With S'reena situated, Savot moved forward to observe Forbes' progress when a comm came through from Wolf, =^=Captain Savot I have control of the weapon even for a brief time, I have sent my team back to the surface they should be joining you shortly. The breen will get back into this room in about 10 to 15 minutes depending how determined they are. I need whatever assistance you can provide. If Commander Jackson is away I need her on the line as soon as possible. Please do not attempt to come after me you have already place yourself in enough danger and you would not make it in time. I'm hoping to disarm the weapon or blow it up I will try and make it back if possible if not well I'm sure the hunting grounds are great at this time of year.=^=
The captain quirked an eyebrow at the report that Wolf had sent his team back... but that would have to be dealt with later. Forbes looked up at the vulcan questioningly, as Wolf's report seemed to have presented a change in the landscape so to speak. "Continue; regardless of what happens we will need a diagram on record that is as detailed as possible", Savot nodded as he spoke to Ian, before moving to the pilot's station and opening a reply channel to Wolf.
=^=Message acknowledged, Colonel. Commander Jackson's status is unlikely to change within the time allotted; continue sending scans to Engineering aboard the El Salvador, and hold your position. You are not to destroy the device without my direct order, Savot out=^=, the vulcan finished then arched his neck to peer onto Forbes' screen and determine the comm-frequency the Breen base computer was utilizing.
Inputting the frequency at his station and opening a channel over the base's entire speaker system, Savot addressed whatever Breen forces were within, =^=Outpost occupants, this is Captain Savot of the Federation starship El Salvador. Your weapon is secured and we are equipped to destroy it if necessary. My vessel is accompanied by 4 Klingon warships; it is impossible for you to maintain your hidden presence here. If you attempt to retake the weapon it will be destroyed and you with it; you know this to be true.=^= The Klingons weren't technically there as part of the El Salvador's mission, and 2 of their ships were disabled, but it was entirely accurate that 4 Klingon ships occupied space relative to his ship, and the Breen would know that the Empire had been the Federation's strongest ally in the Dominion War.
=^=You know we cannot allow you to maintain possession of a weapon that uses Federation technology; however, you also know that by Federation law we are obligated to return you to your government under Prisoner of War statutes. If your people cannot have the device itself, they will at least have access to your personal knowledge of its construction rather than being forced to begin completely anew. I will wait 60 seconds for you to contact me and arrange a surrender; after which I will return to my ship and obliterate the planet's surface to ensure the destruction of your device, Savot out=^=, the most important thing about bluffing... was not to.
Tapping his commbadge the vulcan contacted his security chief next, =^=Savot to Roberts. Commander Jackson has been received and we're beginning treatment, well done. Maintain your current position; I've called for the Breen's surrender and should they acquiesce I'll need your team standing by to take them into custody. We'll know their decision shortly, Savot out.=^=
Savot sat at the pilot's station of the Mini-Sal and silently watched Ian's work in concert with Engineering back aboard ship, and waited for a surrender or 60 seconds. Whichever came first...

A smile appeared on his face when he heard Captain savot on the base com. It seemed the captain was buying more time for him. The funny thing was he was stretching the trueth a little 4 klingon ships and destruction of the planet. Well in the grand plan it was a option not one that would be used but nobody needed to know that. Keeping his com channel opened he went back to scanning the weapon and relaying the scans to Savot. He was hoping somebody would come up with a plan. He didn't really want to end his own life but it was a option if needed.
He knew he had done the right thing sending his team back, there was little for them to do. If things went bad it would only take one to blow the weapon. He could have picked on of his team to do they would have stayed but that was not his style. The risk is for the commander to take not anybody else that was his thinking.
Looking around the room he noticed it had gotten quite maybe the Breen were weighting there options and thinking about the risk. This was a good thing for him it meant he had more time to figure things out. "Captain things have gotten very quite down here I think there weighting the optionw open to them right now. I'm sending you all the scans I can get if you need something else please let me know. I'm not going anyplace right now and its a very nice spot to have a picnic if you aske me. I mean the color of the Breen weapon and the sound are just perfect." He was trying not to think about what was happening and like normal he turned it into a joke. It was his way of dealing with the problem at hand

It was odd, being led by the Vulcan but S'reena let it slide for now. She remembered the no-touch policy that Starfleet upheld, and thus couldn't help but wonder how much discomfort she was causing their stoic captain. She sat beside the makeshift biobed, reaching out carefully until her fingers encountered fabric. "Stacey?" she asked slowly, "Stacey can you hear me?"
The Romulan ignored the EMH's snort, leaning forward even further until her face was close to the counselor's. "You'll be all right," she promised, "I promise you'll be all right. You still owe me dinner, remember? I'm going to hold you to it."
As she whispered, she listened to Wolf's reports and Savot's responses to it. "I think we should avoid using this weapon at all cost," she cut in, sitting up a little straighter, "but we must also ensure the Breen won't take it back." Then she pointed skywards, in the general direction of the El-Salvador and the Klingon and Cardassian fleet they knew to be there. "And they must not know about it or it might ignite a war. Though Breen are here, I'm quite certain there are innocents involved. They'd hardly risk their own people on something as large scale as this."
She paused, thinking hard, then more so murmuring to herself than anyone else. "A planet killer...how big would that weapon be? There was this entity once....wasn't there a Commodore Decker who went to destroy something called a planet killer? Is this something similar, but in a smaller format?"
Ian watched her in growing amazement, smiling in an encouragement she'd never know about. He watched as the EMH hovered over the injured and unconscious counselor, noting that S'reena had managed to grasp the woman's hand, while cradling her golden pet in the other. The creature was crooning in comfort, equal to her master's tone. "Amazing," he breathed in astonishment.
He turned, looking up at Savot. "Could this be possible?" he asked in disbelief, "could it be similar technology?"

Failing to determine a suitable response to Wolf's final statements, the vulcan captain merely gave polite acknowledgement of the Marine's report. Savot then looked rearward as he listened to S'reena's statements about not using the weapon and not letting even news of its existence spread too far. He nodded in overall agreement as he spoke, "I concur; though the presence of Breen and Klingon personnel here would seem to already have escaped our containment capability, as Bethar's statements and demands were transmitted over wide broadcast. Rest assured Commander that we will neither use this device nor allow it to remain operational."
Hope paused, perhaps in internal contemplation, then murmured softly as though merely giving voice to her personal thought process. "A planet killer...how big would that weapon be? There was this entity once....wasn't there a Commodore Decker who went to destroy something called a planet killer? Is this something similar, but in a smaller format?"
Savot's brow furrowed as he both thought and sifted through his extensive memory before speaking, "Signs of destruction first encountered by U.S.S. Constellation in system L-370, then tracked to system L-374 where the ship was disabled and all crew lost except for Commodore Decker. Confronted by U.S.S. Enterprise under James Kirk and eventually destroyed from within by the remains of the Constellation... also called the 'Doomsday Machine'. The way this device is drawing power from this planet's core is rather reminiscent of those reports."
The vulcan captain had not, by any means, committed every Enterprise mission to memory, though he did hold Spock as what humans would call a role model. But it was difficult to find anyone in the Federation even outside of Starfleet who hadn't somehow heard this particular tale, so extraordinary was it.
Ian observed his chief in growing amazement, smiling in an encouragement she'd never know about. "Amazing," he breathed in astonishment.
Forbes turned, looking up at Savot. "Could this be possible?" he asked in disbelief, "could it be similar technology?"
Savot arched an eyebrow in slight surprise as he turned to face the man, standing once again with his hands clasped behind him, "All things are possible, Mr. Forbes. It is for us to determine what is." Orienting himself directly behind Forbes' seat to see the scan results as they came in, Savot instructed the scientist, "Attempt to isolate the presence of neutronium or signs of antiprotons that may indicate where and how its power is stored. That will help us determine how to safely disable it."
His mental chronometer then informed him that his ultimatum's duration had lapsed and he tapped his commbadge, =^=Savot to Roberts, the Breen have yet to vocalize a willingness to surrender. Therefor you are to approach the rear of their position, pincering them between your security detail and the Weapon Room door Colonel Wolf has shielded. We will still accept a surrender, but defending yourselves has highest priority, Savot out.=^=

Post by SA. Stacey Jackson [Ret] on Jan 3, 2009 10:22:56 GMT
Stacey’s eyes slowly opened, her throat was very dry and sore. Stacey stayed very still for a few moments as the feeling began to return to her body, she felt something squeezing her hand and she turned her head to see S’reena sitting beside her.
Stacey felt a great sense of relief that not only she was safe but S’reena to was alright.
Stacey took a breath before her raspy voice said quietly.
“Water.”
As S’reena looked up to Stacey a man leaned over her with a tricorder, she immediately recognised him as an Emergency Medical Hologram.
He frowned at Stacey as she tried to sit up, he put a hand on her shoulder to stop the movement.
“Please don’t move Commander.. You suffered two broken ribs… a badly broken wrist and a rather nasty stab wound to the abdomen.. it will take some time before you will be free of pain.”
Stacey let her head fall back on the pillow and she let out a sigh.
She listned to two voices talking.. it was Savot and Wolf.. the fact the captain was on the Mini-Sal was surprising but what shocked her more was the talk of a planet killer.
Stacey sat up quickly before the doctor noticed her movement, she winced from the pain but ignored it, she looked to S’reena and then to Savot.
“Destroy it.. if the records from the Enterprise are accurate it is a weapon of tremendous power.. one that should not be allowed to survive the risk is far too great.. it must be destroyed…disabling it is not enough.. blow the damned thing up.”

Looking over the design something was starting to click he had seen something like this before. It appeared the design has changed but he looked around the cave for a moment and noticed it wasn't really a cave but a control room. The orginal enterprise had dealt with something like this before and not it was coming back to him.
" Captain Savot I think the problem just got a little bigger then we thought. If I understand what I'm seeing here the whole planet is the weapon. I think Captain Kirk of the enterprise dealt with something like this a long time ago. If I remeber correctly it was not easy to switch off once it was switched on."
All of a sudden something else clicked no wonder the Breen had stopped trying to get into the control room. It all made sense now the weapon was already on it was starting to activate and use the planets core as a power source. It was starting to make sense why they were so willing to leave and give up they wanted off the weapon them selves.
" Captain savot its starting to make sense now why the breen have stopped the weapon is armed I'm sure they have back up systems in place even is if I blow the control room there going to have back ups in place. Like I said earlier they weren't stupid I'm only question is where did they get there information to build it from." <Tag Savot>

It seemed all of the senior officers were eventually arriving at the realization first made by Commander Hope as to the weapon's possible origin. Colonel Wolf spoke over the comm not 2 minutes after her first line of self-inquiries, =^=Captain Savot I think the problem just got a little bigger then we thought. If I understand what I'm seeing here the whole planet is the weapon. I think Captain Kirk of the enterprise dealt with something like this a long time ago. If I remember correctly it was not easy to switch off once it was switched on.=^=
Before Savot replied, Jackson fought her way to consciousness in time to overhear what was being discussed, and adamantly spoke through her pain, "Destroy it.. if the records from the Enterprise are accurate it is a weapon of tremendous power.. one that should not be allowed to survive the risk is far too great.. it must be destroyed…disabling it is not enough.. blow the damned thing up.”
Returning to the rear of the shuttle for a moment, Savot stood by the makeshift biobed and nodded to the Counselor, "I assure you, Counselor, I have every intention of destroying it, as I share your concern as to its threat level if we don't stop it here. However, if we do not disable it first we risk at least a 92.407% probability that the planet itself will be destroyed. If that occurs, not only will the orbits of every other world in this system be dangerously altered, but an incalculable number would also be at risk from impact of this world's fragments. We must first render it powerless, and then we will ensure it's complete disassembly and destroy the individual components, I promise you."
As he returned to Forbes' station, another signal came through from Wolf, =^=Captain Savot it's starting to make sense now why the breen have stopped the weapon is armed I'm sure they have back up systems in place even if I blow the control room they're going to have back ups in place. Like I said earlier they weren't stupid my only question is where did they get there information to build it from.=^=
With a slight elevation from his right eyebrow, Savot opened a channel to reply, =^=Let us keep our priorities in the proper order, Colonel. We must first ensure that we survive this scenario, then once we have done so we may investigate how the Breen came into possession of the equipment and technologies they've used here.=^=
After observing the latest scans on Forbes' screens, the vulcan continued, =^=The weapon cannot conceivably be the entire planet, as it cannot very well draw power from its own core to charge itself. It's my belief that the weapon has not been fully completed, or the charge time would be significantly lower than it is, nor would the Breen have worked so diligently to remain hidden. By my calculations we have sufficient time to cut off its power source before it discharges; however, in the event my calculations are incorrect I'm recalling all personnel and both shuttlecraft back to the El Salvador.=^=
As he paused, Savot heard a metallic knocking from the side hatch, and looked through the forward canopy to see one of the El Sal's Marine contingent waving to caught the shuttle occupants' attention. Double-checking with sensors to ensure they were alone, Savot opened the hatch and allowed the men to board.
As the soldiers began stowing their gear as per procedure, while making sure not to bother the EMH's treatment of Jackson, Savot re-opened his channel to Wolf, =^=Your unit has just rendevoused with us aboard the Mini-Sal, Colonel. Regardless of the Breen's intention, Mr. Roberts and his team should be able to subdue them soon, and I've instructed him to notify you when they've done so. I'm sending you the landing coordinates of the shuttle I took, the Chepstow. When Roberts has secured the Breen you will join him and his team and pilot the other shuttle back to the ship with the Breen in custody. We're taking off as soon as the Marine contingent is secured, signal me when Mr. Roberts and yourself arrive at the other shuttle with the prisoners, Savot out.=^=
The vulcan captain then focussed his attention back on Forbes' incoming sensor data, interlacing his fingers together except for his extended index fingers which were pressed together and resting lightly on his lips. His eyes narrowing slightly in concentration, Savot then nodded ever so slightly, "Yes, it should be possible."
Forbes looked back over his shoulder in silent inquiry as to what the captain meant, and Savot unclasped his hands and reached forward with his right to point at one of the screen's, "Here, the energy flow throughout the device's individual segments is exactly identical to the flow speed and level of the energy being drawn from the planet's core. If it were capable of storing energy, it would only need to draw enough from the core to fill its capacitors, and then the core drain would level off. But as it's currently configured, for the weapon to hold any charge at all it must have an active, uninterrupted flow of power from the planet's core. So if we can sever the link between the weapon and the core... we can render it completely powerless."
Turning from the screens to face Forbes directly, and stepping back a pace from the man's chair so he wasn't looming right over him as they talked, Savot inquired, "Soil samples were included in the data Commander Hope was transmitting back to the ship before Bethar intervened. What was the deepest sample taken? All matter vibrates at a specific frequency at the molecular level; if we can determine the frequency of the material that makes up this planet's mesosphere, we should be able to adjust the ship's main deflector to create a targetted seismic event inside the shaft that connects the weapon to the planet's core."

Hearing the captains instruction he slowly started collecting the explosives around the weapon. He didn't want to risk leaving them behind or somebody setting them off by accident. Exiting the control room he saw Roberts and his team heading his way and met up with them " Its good seeing old freind but I think we need to leave this garden spot and collect our guest and head home."
Slowly making there way to the shuttle Captain Savot and brought down they found the Breen at the entrance. They didn't appear hostile and it seemed they wanted off the planet as well. He was still concerned with the knowledge they had they could build another weapon. For a slipt secound he had the idea to eliminate them all so this couldn't happen again. He put the thought out of his head but was a little worried that it had poped in there.
" I know you can understand me once we are done searching for weapons we will move to the ship. If any of you try anything funny I promise to call the klingons and have them come down here to collect you. Rest assured they will take extra special care of you and you will get there special attention"
The Breen seemed to understand and cooperated while searching for weapons with rest of the team. He found what appeared to be a Breen version of a tricorder and collected it. He would give to captain Savot and let him see what he could get out it.
Looking back at Roberts " Seems like they dont want to be here anymore then we do, I bet they want to get back home and start this all over again. I'm not looking forward that part something tells me we wont be as lucky" Roberts seemed to agree with him and they head for the shuttle half the security team boarded first to help with securing the Breen after everyobyd was aboard he assumed the pilot seat while Roberts took the co-pilot seat
Looking back at the security team " If one of the gives you any trouble use what every means needed to secure them or sub due them. We dont need any probles on the flight back to the ship"
Tapping the com channel " Captain Savot my team and guest are secure seems they were more then happy to go home with us. I'm a little concerned that the only reason they were willing to leave is because you are going to allow them to return home. I'm pretty sure sir there looking for a chance to create another weapon as soon as they make it back. I dont know if releasing them would be a good idea with the knowledge in there Heads"<Tag Savot>
Starting the preflight checks and bring power on line he lifted the shuttle of the surface and headed back to the ship. He knew staying behing to do anything else was useless. There current problem had to be solved by people who were engineers and science officer like there Captain.

ON: Forbes followed the captain's line of reasoning without trouble but did find a few flaws in his reasoning. "The flow seems uninterrupted," he agreed, after scrutinising the data, "but what if the weapon is some form of battery on it's own, just needing huge quantities of power to remain operational?"
S'reena listened, not quite following Ian's reasoning, but she had heard the captain's earlier query. "The deepest samples were taken at ten meters," she answered, "and with the vibration of the soil, we could create quicksand, so to speak. Perhaps we could collaps the weapon in on it's own, into the shaft? Burying it out of reach of those wanting to use it."
Savot watched Forbes intently and listened to his thought process as he worked through the problem vocally with the vulcan. Before responding to him; however, Savot heard Hope insert a response to his earlier question, and turned slightly to face her as he replied, "That is an option certainly, but if at all possible I believe we should dismantle it completely and destroy the components. If the device remains intact here, there are at least 5 separate forces that will know of its existence, and with the planet's location in Cardassian space the Federation would be unable to maintain observation to ensure it was not exhumed. Perhaps we can take deeper scans via the shaft leading to the core in order to determine the composition of the deeper soil, and close off the shaft."
"The collapse would create exponential extern forces upon the device," S'reena continued, squeezing Jackson's shoulder before rising to her feet. "Ian, move over," she ordered, taking his seat as soon as he'd stepped aside. Quickly she pulled up a few diagrams. "The external force of the soil, combined with the heat of the magma from the core, would crush the device beyond repair," she hypothesised, "assuming the shaft contains magma of course."
Savot moved aside briefly to allow the exchange of position between Hope and Forbes, then leaned forward slightly to observe the data Hope was pulling up. Skimming his eyes back and forth over the various diagrams, he engaged in a series of mental calculations as well, before nodding slightly, "That would seem to be feasible, and routed scans from Wolf's position confirm the presence of magma within the shaft. My concern is that, in not fully understanding the inner workings of the device we cannot be certain what would result in the precise moment the device reaches catastrophic failure. Depending on how its energy is routed and housed, there could be a resultant explosion that could still reach the core and damage the planet."
He gestured towards a deeper point on the shaft diagram, for Forbes' visual benefit, and continued, "If we can trigger another quicksand effect further down the shaft, it could be possible to both bury the device and still cut it off from the core, so that the destructive effects of the soil pressure and the heated magma on the weapon can be contained in a makeshift chamber, thereby protecting the core from any resultant feedback."
"The energy of a possible explosion still has to go somewhere," the Romulan pointed out, "but if we collapse the shaft and enforce it somehow, then the energy should only be able to go up. Perhaps we can direct the force of explosion, or even absorb the released energy somehow." She smiled softly. "Wasn't that how energy was created in the twentieth century? Nuclear fission, but differently done perhaps?" She shrugged. "It is just a theory of course, but I'm quite certain this will work. El-Salvador should perform several deep penetrating scans to see if the deflector can do it."
Ian grinned. "And here you were carrying on about feeling useless only a few hours ago," he added, before looking up at the Vulcan. "I'm in agreement with her," he continued, "though I have a few doubts about this energy retention. It does have to be channeled somewhere. Perhaps we can create an energy facility for the natives somehow?" It was, of course a long shot, but one worth considering regardless.
Savot nodded his admission of S'reena's point regarding the energy, and in agreement with her overall assessment, "Quite correct, Commander, and I share your belief in the possibility of success." As he had two science specialists here, it was only sensible to get both their perspectives on it before issuing any orders. The vulcan looked over to Forbes to hear his thoughts on the matter.
As Ian finished, Savot gave a tilted nod of his head in acknowledgement of the potential option Forbes suggested, "We shall see. It would seem to next step would be to return to the ship and acquire the requisite scans. When we've more accurate defined the parameters, we will be better equipped to formulate a solution to the energy equation." Nodding in satisfaction at the plan template they'd concocted, the vulcan moved to the pilot's station of the Mini-Sal and began preparations for take-off.

It seemed like James had only been at Starbase 47 for a couple days when he was told that he was being assigned and sent to the El Salvador. He did all the research on the vessel that he could learning that he would be the helm officer on board. Even taking the time to look up Captain Savot himself and read up on the service record of said Vulcan Commanding Officer. Assuming it was best to learn about him as he could. With that knowledge, his orders, and all his personal belongings the Acting Ensign made his way to his ride.
Once in the shuttlebay he would discover, much to his distaste, that his ride was a Class II shuttlecraft. Ensign Fire rolled his eyes and sighed heavily as he climbed through the airlock and approached the co-pilot seat. Next to some Bolian Lieutenant Commander, of which he didn't know the name simply deciding it best to refer to him as sir.
"Take your seat Mister Fire we will be taking off soon. Place your stuff in the back compartment as well we don't want those things rolling around too much."
James simply nodded and did as he was ordered to do then he proceeded to take his seat. He would watch his panel as the shuttle lifted off and exitted through the shuttlebay doors...
...It seemed like years at warp 4 to the youth, but it wasn't going to be much longer before they reached the ship having passed the Cardassian border. Most of the trip the Commander said little to nothing at all. Which, of course made the trip drain him all the more. Finally when it seemed the boredom of the trip was going to drive James insane they fell out of warp. In front of him was a planet and many ships. The El Salvador included in the group the shuttle of course coming about along the ship's port side. Once permission to beam one aboard was granted James made his way, things in hand, to the shuttles' transporter pads.
"Take care Ensign, and remember what I told you about Captain Savot. He's a good officer to work under behave yourself and listen to his every word."
With those final words he felt himself being taken from the shuttle only to appear several moments later on board the ship. Another officer, a Lieutenant in yellow, proceeded to approach him.
"This way Mister Fire, your quarters are this way."
James nodded towards the male human, and would proceed to follow him towards the quarters that had been selected for the chief of navigation. Once inside the security officer left him to his lonesome to unpack, and he would find the Captain eventually once he made his way to the bridge of course.

Heading back to the EL- Sal his thoughts kept focusing on there guest and what would be done with them. He didn't really trust letting them go but it was not his choice to make for the moment. He would voice his concerns with the captain when he got back. As far as captains went Savot was a good one, he would listen to you and then make a up his mind. Still he might not agree with you but he would listen which meant alot.
After arriving he instructed Roberts to escort there guest to quarters under armed guard. He didn't think the Brig would be needed the Breen wanted to go home and try again and would do anything to risk that chance. He headed for the bridge and relieved the Lt in charge it wasn't good to have all the senior staff off the ship but there was little choice. He still wouldn't sit in the captains chair instead he remained standing until captain returned. One of the junior officer informed him that they had a new Navigation officer aboard who just arrived.
Tappping his combadge " Mr. Fire this is Lt Col wolf I'm in Command until the Captain returns which should be shortly please report to the bridge and assume your station. I'm sorry that you are being put to work but with the current problem I want a fresh set of eyes on it. I promise to make sure you are given enought time after to settle in." <Tag Fire>
Looking back down at the planet and the ships in the area, it was going to be very intersting over the next few hours to see what would happen next. Looking back as Roberts arrived on the bridge and manned his station " Mr. Roberts make sure all defensive systems are on standby I do not want to be caught short out here incase our friends decided to go down and check things out them selves. Dont arm any thing just make ther on Stand by."
He wasn't worried he knew roberts already had done that when he came aboard but another check couldn't hurt. Opening a com channel again " Captain savot the Breen are secured in guest quarters under armed guard." He knew everybody would be listening in so he switch his speech a little. It would take some time for everybody listening to figure out what he meant but there Captain was use to his senor of humor and would know what he meant " The lady's are all dressed up and ready to go to the dance Captain we just hope our date doesn't show up" <Tag Savot>

Stacey Jackson lay on the small bed the EMH had set up as she listned to Savot and Hope discuss ways to get rid of the weapon she had stayed silent as non of this babble was her specialty.
The EMH buzzed over her taking constant scans and continually poking and prodding her until finnaly she grabbed the medical tricorder out of his hand and threw it to the end of the shuttlecraft.
“Take one more scan and I will change you holomatrix to make you a Denobulan slime worm.”
The EMH gave her a rather filthy look before he quipped.
“Have it your way Commander… but don’t blame me if you don’t heal properly.”
Stacey returned the filthy look right back at him before she gave him a sly grin.
“Computer.. Deactivate Emergency Medical Hologram.”
He only had the time to throw her a frown before he faded away, and Stacey let out a sigh of relief the constant prodding was driving her nuts.
She swung her legs over the edge of the bed lowered herself off of the bed, she was a little unsteady on her feet for a few moments before she gained her footing.
After she did she walked over to where Savot was now preparing to fly the Mini-Sal back to the El-Sal.
She looked down at his console before taking a seat to the far right of him, she smiled as she said.
” Not the best first outing I have ever had… but not the worst.”

Ensign Fire was busily storing his items having left his orders out on the mattress that had been freshly made by him. He stood straight up once more thinking quietly to himself about how he would consider going to the crew lounge later on. Suddenly he was startled by the commbadge that he'd left on his mantle and he would look towards it. Walking quickly over and lifting it up then listening to the voice on the other side.
" Mr. Fire this is Lt Col wolf I'm in Command until the Captain returns which should be shortly please report to the bridge and assume your station. I'm sorry that you are being put to work but with the current problem I want a fresh set of eyes on it. I promise to make sure you are given enought time after to settle in."
He smiled to himself, so much for going to the crew lounge and relaxing from the long day of travel. He tapped it, "On my way sir." <tag Colonel Wolf>
He zipped his uniform up and smoothed it out before placing the comm back onto his uniform. With that he sighed lightly and made his way towards the turbolift and stepped inside it. "Bridge." With that he was zooming towards the bridge and in no time flat he was stepping out once more.
He walked towards the station and looked around seeing that the Captain wasn't on the bridge in his place of course was who he assumed to be the Colonel that had called him to duty. He smiled softly and took his seat behind the helm and punched in his information so that it recognized him. He then looked up towards the viewport and down upon the planet's surface. Sighing once more he would return his gaze back onto his panel.

As he made the final preparations for liftoff, Savot heard the thud of what he quickly discerned was a medical tricorder bouncing off the rear bulkhead onto the floor of the Mini-Sal. The vulcan left Jackson and the EMH to their conversation unless the physician bellowed for assistance, which seemed unlikely as Savot heard the telltale sound of a holographic image fading from existence after the Counselor's vocal command.
A few moments later she settled into a seat to his right, and once she was settled, she smiled as she said, ”Not the best first outing I have ever had… but not the worst.”
Savot looked to her as soon as the shuttle had cleared the tree canopy, and tilted his head slightly in submission, "Lacking personal knowledge as to the particulars of your dossier, I am content to take your word for it, Counselor. I'm pleased to see you weren't too gravely injured. My apologies with regard to your capture."
Looking back through the forward screens as they broke atmosphere, Savot was about to hail the El Salvador for landing clearance when a call came through from Wolf, =^=Captain Savot the Breen are secured in guest quarters under armed guard. The ladies are all dressed up and ready to go to the dance, Captain we just hope our date doesn't show up.=^=
The vulcan arched an eyebrow as he worked to translate the Marine's statement, and upon scanning the El Salvador and noting the defensive systems were on standby he believed he understood, =^=Very good, Colonel. Please move the Breen in pairs to the brig; however. Though I suspect they will cause us no difficulty, exercising utmost caution would seem the prudent course. Our ETA is 53 seconds; I will be on the bridge 2 minutes thereafter, Mini-Sal out.=^=
Before turning back to address Jackson again, Savot noted a departing warp trail from a Federation shuttlecraft. As Wolf had returned to the ship, it was not the Chepstow, and the bridge would have known if another of the El Salvador's compliment were taking off. Therefore, the logical conclusion was that a separate shuttle had made a delivery of either material or personnel to the El Salvador; the vulcan made a mental note to look into it when he'd reached the bridge. Then looking to Counselor Jackson once again, he spoke, "Counselor, upon our return please accompany Commander Hope and Mr. Forbes to sickbay for a medical check by Doctor Hope."
As if to pre-empt any arguments the trio might have, the vulcan continued, "After which, if the Doctor is satisfied none of you are in danger of exacerbating your condition, you may all return to your posts. Also, instruct sickbay to send a medical team immediately to take scans of the Breen in as much detail as possible from outside the brig forcefields."

The Mini-Sal began to cross the threshold of Main Shuttlebay's entry fields, and Savot transmitted the EMH back to sickbay, where the computer would automatically re-activate the program, as the craft settled reasonably smoothly on the deck. Savot lowered the external hatch and rose from the pilot's seat, turning back to face Forbes, Hope, and Jackson just before exitting the craft, "Welcome home, and good work." And with a nod, he was gone, back towards his own post.

Stepping back onto El Salvador's bridge, Savot was greeted by the sight of the planet on the main viewscreen, and Colonel Wolf standing by the bridge's center at parade-rest. The vulcan walked to the center, nodding to Wolf as he approached, "Thank you, Colonel; I relieve you. I want you to assume supervision of the Breen's security, as I will require Mr. Roberts here at Tactical until our situation is resolved."
<Wolf response, if any>
Taking his seat, Savot was informed, whether by Wolf or his chair's console, of the new Ensign's arrival. Looking towards the Helm he indeed noted the back of a head that he was unfamiliar with. "Mr. Fire?", the vulcan began, "Welcome aboard Ensign. Plot a course back to our side of the Federation border so we'll be prepared to leave when our business here is complete."

Looking at captain Savot as he entered the bridge ready for work like normal he was thinking. As Captain savor relieved him and took Command back. He listend to his orders and nodded his head. He had played it safe with the Breen not sure how Captain savot wanted them treated. Making sure he had update the log befor he left to let the Captain know about Ensign Fire.
He was still worried before getting into the turbo lift to head to the brig and marines escorting the breen he asked the question that still hadn't been answered yet. " Captain I know your busy but this is something I really would like answered when you have the time. How do we keep the Breen from building another weapon with the knowledge they have aquired with out Breaking regs on treatment of prisoners and star fleet protocal. I know now might not be the time but its a question that will need to be answered rather quickly Sir"
Entering the turbo lift he didn't wait for answer he knew Captain Savot need to solve the first problem before he worried about the next one. He just wanted to make sure that a solution would be found in a timely manner and not rush. Like you could rush Captain Savot in anything but he had to be sure
