Sharp finds the armory but sees that its heavily guarded by the Mysars. Sharp then decides to head to engineering but before he heads to engineering ducks into quarters and replicates a technicians uniform and puts it on.
30 minutes later in engineering Sharp pretends to be working on something. Sharp is actually looking through the ships database trying to find out where the mind control device is located after a few minutes finds the device and heads there.
About 10 minutes later Sharp enters the room where the device is and scans it as he is scanning it a Mysar walks in

Will was well into his 36th hour of duty and was showing no signs of turning over his station yet. He did, however, allow the relieve to stand by and assist. He figured two sets of eyes and ears were better than one. While Will was tracking the St James, the other officer was monitoring Commander Sharps bio signs. Commander Sharp was still reading strong and healthy with the occasional slightly elevated heart rate. Of course, being in the position he was in, Will could completely understand. They still had a descent lock on the St James' trail and engineering had reported that they were almost ready.
10 minutes later, they got the call they had been waiting for.
=^= Engineering to bridge. We have the warp drive up and running. Weapons are at 65% and shields are at 83%.=^=
=^=Very well Engineering. We will commence pursuit. You will have to finish the rest while in transit.=^= Will answered.
He than turned toward the helm.
"I've sent you their course. Set it in and began following at maximum warp." he told the pilot.
=^= Bridge to Commander Blakus. Sir, Warp drive is up and we are now following the St James. =^=

McLean was in fact happy to be off the bridge. There was something different about sitting number one on the bridge. All eyes fell upon the person in the center chair, and up to that point he always thought he wanted that for his career. Now after his first taste of command he was having serious second thoughts.
“Perhaps Engineering isn’t that bad.” McLean said to himself as the turbo lift doors open.
He had almost forgotten how bad the damage that had been done down in Main Engineering was. But it only took that second to remember the firefight and the subsequent explosion that had sent Main Engineering spiraling out of control and forcing McLean to transfer controls up to the bridge. A less than exciting place for a seasoned engineer.
“How are things looking down here?” McLean asked.
“Well look who’s back?”
“How was the good life Captain?”
“Okay, okay, enough.” McLean smiled; it was his first smile all day. It was nice to see that even with everything that happened the humor of an engineer didn’t fade, “What’s our status?”
“We’re up to warp five capability right now.” The lead engineer replied, “Also Alpha and Bravo teams are working on getting some of the internal dampeners back online. A few got screwy when we transferred controls up to the bridge.”
“I noticed.” McLean said, “What else?”
“Well as soon as that’s all said and done we really only need to realign the matter anti-matter mixture and we should be back to full power. By no means peak power, but full power according to Starfleet specifications.”
McLean’s smile grew even larger, “Good to know. Great work guys.”
“Thanks skipper.” The engineer replied with a smile just as large and added a wink as a final jest before heading back to work.
“McLean to the bridge.”
“Go head Commander.”
“We’ve got warp five for now, and as it increases we’ll throttle up for you.” McLean said.
“Affirmative. Bridge out.”

"It's nothing .. Just a twinge. I'll see you later Andae." Torek finished, lying back down on the biobed. Wincing at the pain the Captain must have been feeling, Blakus acknowledged and followed the injured CO's order: to keep him informed. He made his way back to the bridge, feeling a new lease of determination offered to him by the Captain; if not for himself he would track down the St. James for the man, and hopefully, the latter would be able to come to the bridge soon to see the St. James within the Raven's pincer grasp.
=^= Bridge to Commander Blakus. Sir, Warp drive is up and we are now following the St James. =^=
=/\=Thank you Commander, I'll be there shortly.=/\= Blakus replied to Jamison. He was nearing the turbolift from out of sickbay, planning to take it to the bridge. He was glad the warp engines were up to full, it was better than limping after the fleet-of-foot Intrepid class as they had been doing. What's more, they were supposedly en route for a Federation world planning to unleash havoc.
The XO stepped on to the bridge not long after, "Status report." He requested, although he knew not much would have changed from the couple minutes previous. Jamison reported his own side of things and then the helmsman spoke up,
"We're at warp six and accelerating with Commander McLean's continuing repairs, sir. We're gaining on the St. James."
"Good," Blakus said as he settled into the command chair, "It seems they haven't repaired their engine systems either. And they haven't got Commander McLean. "Commander Jamison, you say you are monitoring Sharp's lifesigns. Speculate, is there any possible method in which we might contact the Commander, without risking his life?"
Jamison seemed to ponder for a moment; then something occurred to Blakus:
"Perhaps we could transmit a message carried on the signal of one our standard scans. They will know we are constantly monitoring them, if we continue to do that but at some point send a message to Sharp, then we could get in contact with him without Kol Dremar or anyone on that ship finding out. Then the only problem would be finding a way of making Sharp aware that we are trying to contact him... so we need him near some communications console, and away from the bridge and anyone else."
"Sir," the science officer got the XO's attention. "We could transmit a signal to his commbadge."
"Assuming he still has it," the helmsman interjected.
"Alright everybody," Blakus said waving his hands, he was irritated that what he thought was an excellent little line of reasoning had been broken up by two very good points. "Hmm, Lieutenant, if he does have his commbadge then we would at least need to know where he is on the ship.
"Will, how detailed are your scans? Can you tell where Sharp is on the St. James? If so, I want you to prepare a message to send to his commbadge on one of our sensor waves. If done correctly, they won't know we've done it."
<Tag Jamison>
"Fifteen minutes, and we'll be within range for long range weapons, sir," the helmsman reported.
"Thank you, we're well and truly in Federation space now, what is the nearest Federation colony?"
"Theta Scorpii IV," said the science officer, peering closely at his console. "Population 620.."
"Give me the highest populated colony within a reasonable radius," Blakus said impatiently.
There was a pause, in which the XO was sure he picked up on a barely audible gasp. "Rasalgethi colony," the science officer gulped, "Population 12.5 million. That's ten times higher in population than the next biggest colony, sir."
"Extrapolate from her current heading the St. James's likely destination," Blakus ordered calmly, already knowing the answer. Rasalgethi, the head of Hercules; a focal point of the ancient Greek constellation. He wondered if Dremar knew he would be decapitating the ancient hero.
"There is a Federation outpost between Rasalgethi and the St. James, sir. It acts as a guard for the sector." The science officer said. Blakus nodded, turning to the viewscreen, longingly curious in anticipation of the first sight of the St. James that would be seen there, a growing grey speck, warped by the interaction of its variable geometry nacelles with the warp bubble.

Carl continued to look at the nurse as she went about her duties .. For the first few minutes it was amusing for Grace, but the 'novelty' began to ware off, and quickly.
"Gaping at me isn't going to get you off that bed any sooner 'Captain' so I'd forget it if I were you."
"Gaping is such an ugly word Grace." Torek said, a grin forming, "I much prefer 'admiring' ..."
"Right, that does it !" the nurse said striding over to the Captain's bio-bed with a PADD, "I'm releasing you .. Light duties ONLY ! understand Captain, or I may have cause to rescind these orders and have you confined."
Carl jumped, albeit painfully, off the bio-bed and placed a quick peck on the head nurses' cheek. he was out of sick-bay before Grace could react ..
~~~~~~~~~~
"What's the situation Andae ?" Carl asked, surprising everyone, mostly his Exec' who almost did a double-take as the Captain moved round to the Command area.
Blakus gave him an update on their status, Rasalgethi seemed the logical choice of target. He was speculating on several other targets when they were interrupted.
"Sir .. The St James has increased her speed." the Navigation Officer said suddenly.
"WHAT .... Well so much for not having our Engineer." Carl said with a sigh, "How long before we catch them now Lieutenant ?"
"Forty three minutes Captain, if they maintain their current speed."
"Contact Rasalgethi Colony .. Let them know they are possibly about to come under attack. Tell them to activate whatever defense systems they have and let them know we're on our way." Carl ordered, knowing that whatever defenses they had would likely be useless against whatever the hell Dremar was carrying, "Do you think he will go straight for Rasalgethi Andae. If he does, he's going to need to take that outpost on first."
"Sir, what about the St James' crew ?" Ensign Parkin said from the Science Station, "If this Dremar still has them under his mind-control thing, which he obviously has, then does that mean we will need to, need to fire on our ow ......"
"That's my concern Ensign. Nothing for you to worry about at this point in time OK." Torek said, hoping both the Ensign, and the rest of the Bridge staff understood the Raven's, his, situation ..
"Captain. Commander McLean says transporters and the tractor beam will need to remain off-line. He's got everyone down there working on the drive and weapons systems." the duty Opps Officer said.
"Two for two." Carl said, almost inaudibly, but Andae heard.
"Sir ?"
"Kol has had two breaks ... First he managed to somehow find enough speed to prevent us from catching him before he reaches the colony. Now he's got the break that we can't transport whatever he has over there into space, and we can't snatch him before he reaches Rasalgethi .. Two for two."
"Ahh." Blakus replied.
"Let's try to ensure he doesn't make it 'three for three' OK .." Carl said, edging forward in his seat, somehow thinking the half a meter he was nearer the view-screen brought him that half a meter closer to the man they were hunting ..........
The USS St. James travelled as fast as it could which at the moment was warp three point five, Kol paced the bridge slamming his fist into his open palm as he walked, “How long until we reach the colony?” he demanded
A young Starfleet ensign at the conn. Looked up and said. “Four hours my lord.”
Captain Usana glanced at the security console behind the tactical officer who was a Mysar soldier and took a moment to recognise what he was seeing, it was an alert telling the bridge there was an intruder onboard, fortunately for the intruder the Mysar didn’t know the ship well enough to tell he was onboard where he shouldn’t be.
Usana stood up and walked to the turbolift, he stepped inside.
A few moments later the turbolift stopped and Captain Usana stepped out.
He took the short walk to the storage room where the Anitmatter weapons Kol had picked up from the Mysar colony were sitting. He entered to see a Starfleet Officer standing still and a Mysar officer holding a weapon that was pointed at him.
Usana stepped toward the Mysar officer and said.
“Lord Dremar wants this one on the bridge.”
The Mysar lowered his weapon as Usana raised his phaser and said. “This way.”
He followed Sharp out of the room still holding the phaser to his back.
“Left door.”
Sharp stepped inside and Usana followed in behind him. Usana lowered his weapon and took a more seruise tone in his voice.
“Whoever you are I assume you are from the Raven… I don’t have much time Kol will be expecting me on the bridge… I need you to deliver a message to Torek… tell him… tell him the St. James is a lost cause he needs to destroy us before we reach the colony… there is nothing that can be done from here.”
Usana raised the phaser and said. “Sorry for this.” As he shot Sharp in the chest the phaser was set to heavy stun and Sharp slumped to the floor like dead weight.
Usana grabbed his legs and pressed the small console on the wall, a panel fell away revealing an escape pod Usana pulled Sharp inside and knelt down next to him, Usana pulled off his comm. Badge and placed it on Sharps chest next to Sharps.
Usana stepped out of the escape pod and pressed the console again, the door closed and Usana heard the thrusters fire as the escape pod was ejected form the hull, he took a deep breath and walked out back into the corridor and back to the turbolift.
As he stepped out onto the bridge Kol turned and asked angrily. “What was that escape pod doing?”
Usana raised an eyebrow and said. “It is a trap… for the Raven I placed on of their officers comm. Badges in it and loaded an explosive device… when they beam it onboard… bang.”
Kol smiled and said. “So you humans are not completely stupid after all.’
Kol turned and looked out of the view screen as the St. James dropped out of warp in the view of a small moon, Usana recognised it as a small science outpost and lowered his head as he knew what was coming.
Kol grinned as he personally walked to the tactical station and pressed a few buttons and looked at the view screen as a green glowing torpedo flew towards the base, when it hit a brilliant green explosion ripped a chunk out of the moons surface.
Carl realized he was leaning forward in the Command seat and almost self-consciously sat back. He exchanged a look with his Exec' who nodded imperceptibly. "How long now ?" he said. "Thirty eight minutes Sir." the Helm Officer said, "Wait .... She's dropping from warp. We will catch her in three minutes if she remains stationary. I'm picking up something leaving the ship. Shuttle maybe." "RED ALERT .. Arm all weapons !" Blakus ordered. "Too small." Parkin said from the Science station, "Looks like an escape pod." "Can we tell if there's anyone in it ?" Torek asked. "Sensors are only at seventy eight percent, so we've no way of knowing who, or what, is in there." Ensign Parkin answered. Carl watched the view-screen ... Stars were streaming past the Raven. The ship was traveling at warp six, almost four hundred times the speed of light, but she was still struggling to catch the St James. She was out there, not even a pin-prick on the screen at the current physical distance between the two ships. "Sir the St James has fired on the outpost. I'm picking up massive destruction." the Science Officer said sadly. "St James has gone back to warp Captain." the Navigation Officer said before anyone could comment, "Time to rendezvous now fourteen minutes." Carl tapped the Comm. =^= Bridge to Engineering =^= =^= McLean =^= =^= Scott .... I need more speed =^= Torek said. =^= Sir .. I'm running the warp drive at one hundred and thirty six percent now .. When i can give you more you will be the first to know =^= =^= Understood .. Thank you Scott .. Bridge out =^= Closing the Comm, Carl rubbed his temples. He wasn't certain how this would end, but he did know that he could not allow Dremar to attack anything else. He had to stop the man before he went completely insane. If that meant flying the Raven right into the Bridge of the St James, then so be it, he had no doubt that every single Officer and crewmember would give their lives for their conviction to the Federation .. The words of an exceptional man came to mind, 'The needs of the many out-weigh the needs of the few' .. "Captain." the Helm Officer said, "We're coming up on the outpost. Scans show no survivors. There's a single escape pod in high orbit. One life-sign. No solid bio-signature, but Commander Sharps Comm signal is showing as on-board. Life-signs show good but I'm getting no response from any Comm. He could be unconscious. I'm also picking up an anomaly. There's a device on there too." He needed make a decision whether to leave the pod behind and go after the St James, or slow to recover Sharp. But that became moot as the Navigation Officer spoke. "Sir. The St James is now on a direct heading for Rasalgethi Colony. Present speed she will arrive four point six minutes ahead of us." Torek knew that the escape pods' internal guidance would take it at sub-light on a heading to the nearest Federation signal, that would be Rasalgethi in this instance, but he had no time to worry about his Operations Chief. "Leave the pod .. Maximum speed to Rasalgethi !" "Aye Captain." the Helm officer said, confirming his previous inputs. The Raven passed the outpost in a fraction of a second in her pursuit of the St James and Dremar .......... OOC:
Ok all .. Please feel free to expand on the chase to catch the St James. I'm sure our 'Guest' will relish the chance ..
The small, grey moon that once was home to the Federation outpost for Ras sector looked gibbous, when viewed from the Raven's current angle. A chunk of the surface, blasted free by the St. James's sudden and unexpected hidden weaponry, was now several chunks, propelled by the force of the attack past the moon's escape velocity and into orbit. Perhaps it would form a new satellite given a few hundred thousand years or so.
"Leave the pod .. Maximum speed to Rasalgethi !" Torek exclaimed, directing the ship forwards in a blaze of glory. The Galaxy class swept forward, rounding the despoiled moon on silent wings of night.
The wings of the Raven powered bright, taking her to higher and higher warp as the mercurial engineer conjured his magics within the dilithium crystal chamber.
"Captain, we cannot leave the pod. At sublight speeds it will take years to reach Rasalgethi. You know that of course." Blakus looked to and fro from the rear of the bridge, now standing behind the helmsman. He let Carl handle the monitoring of the Raven away from the outpost with respect to the St. James, as was his wont. "Let's try something," he murmured over the helmsman's shoulder. "Even if Sharp is not inside, we can't let it pass by."
"Commander, I'm picking up two comm badge signals," a crewman reported, "I can't identify the other one, it only has its base code. It must be a St. James commbadge."
"That's the device. Not a weapon then... hopefully." Blakus turned back to the viewscreen. The ship thrummed underneath them, the overworked warp engines sending a resonating tremor through their feet. The bridge was a flurry of activity, frenzied officers passing each other on their way to stations and vocalising suggestions, commands and orders. Four point six minutes ahead the St. James would be when the Intrepid class reached Alpha Herculis, or 0.009 light years when thought about in terms of distances.
"They'll also have Sharp aboard.. Ops! Time 'til max range, please."
"Another twenty seconds, sir, then we will be too far away to get correct alignment."
Warp speed trans-alignment docking was a perilous and delicate operation to execute successfully. They were bordering substantial regions of the moon's potential well, and would have to compensate for supralight velocity vectors, amongst a whole host of other factors, such as the rapid course changing necessary. "Then take us in now. Get us matched with its line helm, and prepare to initiate full dampeners in the shuttlebay. I assume you have us on a positive parallel trajectory with this escape pod.
"Yes sir," helm replied. Within seconds, the Raven had scooped the stranded escaped pod into its shuttlebay at warp speed with full dampeners to slow its relative speed, in one of the most insane manoevures in Starfleet's history. The officers and crewmen in the shuttlebay, who opened up the safely arrived pod, were curious to see that the thoroughly shaken Sharp had two commbadges on his chest.
<Tag Sharp>
Blakus let out a vast sigh of relief which came out in a bit of a shudder, and dropped his hands to his knees. "Sorry about that Captain," he said with an apologetic grin, wiping his forehead with the back of his hand.
"According to readings, that took 0.14 seconds out of our time," the helmsman reported remarkably calmly.
"Impressive," Blakus nodded. The Raven sped on, catching the St. James with her current superior speed but still not fast enough.
Ten minutes later: "I am picking up three ships, small and civilian, possibly merchant vessels," reported an officer. "They are right in the St. James's path."
"How far from Rasalgethi?"
"Eleven minutes; that's six minutes twenty-four seconds until the St. James gets there."
"Rasalgethi are contacting us, sir. They've gone to high alert." Said the duty Ops officer, Sharp not having returned to the bridge yet, probably having been taken to sickbay. "Administrator Parvlik sends: Defence systems activated, twenty photon torpedo launching orbital drones have been activated by a protected structure on the planet."
"Millions of inhabitants, it makes sense that they have some defence," Blakus said to Torek. "The head of Hercules wouldn't go down without a fight." Blakus peered at the screen, finding to his mild suprise, that he was curious to see what happened. Millions of deaths were the potential outcome, yet did it matter, really?
"I am picking up three ships, small and civilian, possibly merchant vessels," reported the duty Helm Officer. "They are right in the St James' path."
"Hail them." Carl said quickly.
"Channel open Sir."
=^= Rasalgethi craft .. This is Captain Carl Torek of the USS Raven .. You need to depart the area you are in .. A rogue Federa ...... =^=
=^= We are fully aware of the on-coming vessels intentions Raven .. We intend stopping the ship before it reaches our home world =^=
=^= With all due respect Captain .. You are NO match for that ship .. He will go straight through you without breaking a sweat =^=
=^= You underestimate our determination to protect our planet Raven .. We not only intend to remain in the path of the vessel .. But will ram the ship if that becomes necessary .. Rasalgethi freighter out ! =^=
The Comm went dead ...
Everyone on the Bridge was silent. they were all aware that the three freighters stood zero chance of slowing, let alone stopping the St James. The Science Officer spoke into the silence.
"Captain, It is a certainty that Dremar and Usana heard that communication. They will destroy those ships the moment they are within range."
"I know that Mister Parkin." Carl said quietly, "Put tactical on-screen."
The massive view-screen changed to a computer-generated image of nearby space. Torek could see a small Star fleet insignia, moving toward a planetary body, readings down one side of the screen gave him the information he didn't want to see. It also showed him three small ships. These were approaching the Star fleet vessel ...
Everyone on the Bridge could only watch in silence as the distance between the ships inexorably closed ..........
O'canon was sitting at the helm of the USS Raven, watching in suspense as the two vessels closed in on each other. He wanted to help the Rasalgethi vessels but they probably wouldn't make it in time anyway. He was a good pilot, a pretty damn good pilot actually he always said "if I can't fly it, then it doesn't belong in the sky" still the odds of them making it in time were very slim. He wanted to say something, anything but was always quite timid when blurting out, especially since he was only an Ensign and didn't know the captain or a lot of the other officers that well. All he could do was stay on course give his reports and wait for further orders from the Captain.
With the XOs escape pod recovery stunt in effect, Will had left the bridge and headed for the shuttle bay. As soon as everything was secure, he opened the pod.
=^=Jamison to bridge. We've recovered Commander Sharp. He is unconscious but alive. They're taking him to sickbay now.=^=
"Very well, Commander." came the reply. "What about the other device we detected?"
=^=It appears to be a regulation comm badge,sir. We're running scans on it now and I'm on my way back to the bridge.=^=
A few moments later, Will exited the lift and reclaimed his station.
"What did we find out, Will?" asked the XO.
Pulling his eyes away from the tactical display, where he saw the forth coming confrontation in which the civilians clearly had no chance, he quickly recovered to answer.
"The scans showed a couple of modifications to the second comm badge that was in the pod with Commander Sharp, sir. But it wasn't anything that was viewable by the naked eye. Some of our science people have it down in the lab now trying to discover what those modifications are. Hopefully they'll discover something that can help us."
"Very well. Let us know as soon as you hear."
"Aye, sir." Will said as he turned his attention back to his monitor. "We're not gonna reach them in time, are we?"
"We are not going to reach them in time ...... Are we ?"
"No Mister Jamison. We're not going to reach them in time .." Carl replied after a long silence, before tapping his Comm badge.
=^= Torek to McLean =^=
=^= McLean .. I know what you are going to ask Captain .. But the answer is still the same .. In fact there's a distinct possibility that the injectors could over-heat and we will need to reduce rather than increase speed =^=
Carl closed his eyes for a moment. He 'was' going to ask for more speed, but as usual his friend and Chief Engineer had already done more than anyone to help the Raven reach warp six. While he knew Scott could work miracles in minutes, the impossible tended to take even him some time.
=^= Thank you Commander =^= Carl replied, closing the Comm.
He looked at the tactical display .. The St James dwarfed the three vessels that had been send out on their suicide mission. It was a foregone conclusion that Dremar would take seconds to destroy them, hardly allowing the Raven to close the gap between them. But Torek was relying on the twenty orbital weapons platforms that the Rasalgethi had activated to keep him occupied, at least until the Raven could, hopefully, get close enough to stop him.
"Sir ..." Ensign Parkin said from the Science Station, "The three vessels are entering the St James's weapons range."
Carl got up from his seat without replying. Blakus watched him move slowly around the Bridge, doing anything to avoid watching the inevitable massacre on the view-screen.
"Thank you Ensign." Blakus said, keeping a close eye on his Commanding Officer.
"Sir." the young woman continued, "The freighters' weapons are no match for the St James' .. They will be destro ......"
"We know Ensign." Carl said, both sad and frustrated at their helplessness, "We know." ..........
".. Some of our science people have it down in the lab now trying to discover what those modifications are. Hopefully they'll discover something that can help us." Jamison reported.
Science Lab...
The junior science officer was amused at his own careful handling of the commbadge as he passed it underneath the quantum microscope. The commbadge was meant to be one of the safest devices in use by the Federation, as it was constantly supposed to be attached to officers' chests, yet he was handling this as one would handle something that was infinitely fragile.
The temporary Chief Science officer stood behind the junior officer, standing by the controls for the microscope. "Ready to activate?" she asked. The junior officer nodded and the chief pressed the button. Within five minutes, the quantum microscope had completed an incredibly detailed surface mapping and quantum mechanical analysis of the commbadge. The junior officer nodded, satisfied that it had been run successfully, and displayed the resultant surface image of the commbadge alongside several data readings of the device.
A team of three gathered 'round, studying the image and analysing the data. Eventually the science officer saw something that stuck out from the common, mostly-smooth surface of the commbadge. "What is this?" she asked.
The junior officer tilted his head, "Looks like miniscule perturbations on the surface; strange pattern," he observed.
"I'm also detecting some irregular internal power signatures," the third scientist reported. "Alternate source and foreign. I don't think the commbadge could be wholly modified like that given its standard materials."
The junior officer looked at the commbadge, suspended in a magnetic field and only partially visible between intervening arms of the equipment. What foreign electrostatic energy would the Mysar think to modify this 'badge with? The fact that it was sent over by way of the escape pod made it somewhat worrying too.
"OK," said the temporary chief, "I'm going to inform the bridge, we need to be prepared to rid ourselves of this 'badge."
"But at the same time it might help us understand Mysar technology. I'm thinking of the implants." The temporary chief nodded and waved a hand at the junior officer, as if she'd already been considering the essence of his statement.
"Let's run some more tests," she said.
On the bridge...
Blakus sat in the XO chair, as always. He'd rarely stood up on this mission when he had been on the bridge, but on the occasion that he had rose from the seat he'd remained standing for a long time; until such a time as he realised that he'd been standing awash on the carpet of the bridge for too long. Too long spent lingering physically in one place.
The St. James sped past the merchant vessels that had been attempting to stop them, and descended deeper into the Alpha Herculis system. Four planetoids: one rock, two gas and one mostly ice according to stellar cartography. A double system, consisting of a yellow giant and yellow white dwarf, the colony itself orbited an average distance from the two of them. The Intrepid class vessel now headed in from slightly above the orbital plane, a relative speck in a deep void that would so easily go amiss if one didn't know what to look for, sweeping down the slope of nothing to the colony.
<Tag Kol (Crane) - OOC: So you are still able to relate what happens to the merchant vessels.>
Raven streamed after her, as smooth if not smoother despite the bulkier appearance of the ship - that of course in space happened to be inconsequential.
Her smooth passage was suddenly disturbed by an unanticipated and abrupt shudder. It was a gritty sound and sensation, almost sounding like a crash somewhere below deck. Raven tilted off her axis in space, several of the hull lights blinking intermittently and a shocking flash of static erupted across the middle decks. Fortunately the engine note did not waver and the ship carried on in its warp bubble towards the Intrepid class St. James.
On the bridge things were different. Inertial dampeners were brought to life with having to compensate for the roll tilt, and then they found themselves overcompensating given the unpredictable and still unknown nature of the problem. The officers recovered to their stations and issued reports.
"We have.. an explosion in the primary science lab. Apparently they were about to report findings.. Casualty report still coming, four at present but no fatalities.. yet." Blakus absorbed the information like he would have absorbed a bullet. Painfully. The primary science lab being where they had taken the modified commbadge for further analysis. Now wearing an expression of indignance and holding a measure of rage he did rise from his seat as soon as he'd got back into it from the floor.
"Has our heading been altered at all?" he asked.
"Yes," someone reported, "We are now off target by... I don't know how much by, sir. The coordination/guidance systems are out of synch." The man huffed in frustration, "They're completely unreliable."
"Yes alright, crewman," Blakus said sardonically, for some reason he was almost annoyed that someone could be as irritated as he was now. "Ensign O'Canon," he addressed the new helmsman for the first time, "Match us on an approximate heading to our previous course, as best as you can manage as it is impossible to predict now. Use the planets as guides if you must, just get us to Rasalgethi."
"Aye sir" O'canon responded as he began running his fingers up and down the helm's console. He quickly began his heading towards Rasalgethi. This would prove to be a difficult challenge with the coordination/guidance systems offline. Still, O'canon was not about to get distressed he was given an order and he was going to complete his instructions. The young Ensign piloted the Raven towards the destination which was ordered. O'canon took Commander Blakus' advice and used the planets to navigate his way to Rasalgethi. The nervousness was slightly visible on his face as he steered The Raven, after all this was one of those predicament where an error could easily occur.
Torek stood in silence as he watched the tactical readout of Dremar's encounter with the three merchant vessels. He was moving slowly toward his seat when the Bridge shook, almost throwing him against the handrail close to the Security Station.
Gaining his balance, he moved quickly to his seat. The ship had listed to port as the inertial dampers began to fail, but O'Canon was doing his best to get the ship orientated.
"We have an explosion in the primary science lab. Apparently they were about to report findings... Casualty report still coming, four at present but no fatalities... Yet." Ensign Parkin said from the Science Station.
"Has our heading been altered at all ?" Blakus asked.
The ship was again beginning to roll. It wasn't obvious that they were veering off course, but that meant nothing.
"Yes..." O'Canon reported, "We are now off target by... I don't know how much, Sir, the coordination/guidance systems are out of sync." The man huffed in frustration, "They're completely unreliable."
"Alright Ensign." he addressed the new helmsman, "Match us on an approximate heading to our previous course, as best as you can manage. Use the planets as guides if you must, just get us to Rasalgethi."
"Aye Sir." O'Canon replied.
Carl watched the man working hard to do as he'd been ordered. The Galaxy Class vessel slowly began to fix herself on a single heading, hopefully in the right direction. Torek didn't even want to ask the question burning into his thoughts. It seemed that everything was conspiring to ensure Dremar and the St James reached their goal.
"I've sent men to the lab Captain." LaGrange said, "They may be able to help."
"Thank you Lieutenant." Carl said. Still feeling vibrations through the carpeted floor as the dampers tried to compensate for whatever damage had been wrought below.
"Those orbital platforms are all that stand between the St James and the colonists now." someone said.
No-one replied to the comment, there was no point, as the man was right. Failing the platforms stopping, or at the very least slowing the St James, she would have been able to make orbit and completely destroy the colony before the Raven could reach her ! .........
OOC: sorry for the double post but it got so big I wanted to make it easier to read.
The bridge of the St. James was silent no one dared talk out of turn nor take the risk of angering Kol who was pacing the bridge as he occasionally yelled out something like ‘this is taking to long or how long until we arrive’
He was aware of but not to concerned about the Raven that the James’s sensors had picked up as it chased them, the Intrepid class Starship was one of the fastest ships in Starfleet only a Prometheus class starship could hope to catch one or keep up.
And Kol had made sure enough damage was done to the Raven so it’s already overworked warp drive was slower still, he glanced angrily at Usana who stood still and almost lifeless in the background.
Kol had wished he had killed the Human earlier but he knew that his hold on the Starfleet crew was slipping he knew the devices were not supposed to work forever, and he still needed the Starfleet crew to run the ship, non of his soldiers could work something so advanced.
The Starfleet officer at tactical who had a Mysar guard standing just next to him looked down at his console as it started to beep.
“Lord.. I am picking up civilian vessels on an intercept course they seem intent on stopping us reaching the colony.”
Kol grunted angrily as he turned to face the tactical station. “What is their weapon capability?”
The tactical officer looked down and checked his scans before looking up and saying. “each vessel is equipped with one Class Seven phaser bank and two type four torpedoes.” This meant nothing to Kol who was unfamiliar to Starfleet weapons designations and he glared at Usana and demanded. “What the hell does that mean?”
Usana raised an eyebrow as he took a deep breath and replied. “They are using phaser technology from almost forty years ago.. and the torpedoes are low yield antiquated technology.. nothing that could get past our shields.”
Kol rolled his eyes in frustration the nerve of those foolish ships daring to stand in his way. “As soon as we are in weapons range I want them destroyed, use those blue torpedoes you have the strong ones.”
Usana rolled his own eyes as he said rather sarcastically. “Quantum torpedoes…. Slight overkill.”
Kol turned around and eyed Usana for a moment before saying. “Your usefulness is running out… when it does I will enjoy killing you.”
Usana showed no signs of fear after what he had allowed his ship to do death would be a blessing for him.. he had no wish to live with the memory of the death his failure as a captain had caused. His mind was now completely his own and for the past half hour he had been trying to figure a way to stop the ship or destroy it. But Kol had him locked out of the computer systems and all the areas of the ship that could trigger catastrophic failure were heavily guarded by fanatically loyal troops of both Starfleet and Mysar origin.
As the view screen showed the antiquated civilian vessels speed head on towards them Kol nodded and without slowing down, the James fired six torpedoes straight at the ships, a few seconds later without any hassle at all the ships exploded. The St, James didn’t stop to get out of the way of the small debris the ships left it simply rammed straight into them as the bounced off of the shields, the affect of which caused the ship the shudder for a few moments.
The St. James was so close to the target and Usana knew the time to act was very quickly running out. The tactical officer again spoke and said.
“We are detecting defensive orbital platforms lord.”
Usana saw his chance, as a Starship captain in this area he already knew of the defensive platforms of the colony, he knew that the weapons on the platforms were up to date with current Starfleet technology and could in fact do damage to the ship if not destroy it. Usana took his chance and spoke up.
“They are also using the old phaser and torpedoes technology they are of no threat the shields can easily handle the weapons fire.”
He held his hands behind his back so tightly it hurt he was worried the Starfleet tactical officer would tell Kol the truth and his last chance would be gone, instead the tactical officer looked over to Usana and gave a very small nod, and Usana immediately knew he too was in at least partial control of his mind.
As they got closer to the planet the weapons platforms buzzed to life and fired a heavy barrage of weapons fire at the St. James, the hip rocked and sparks flew out of consoles and lights filickered.
Kol screamed angrily and his eyed opened wide as he turned to Usana and said.
“YOU….”
His sentence was cut off by another barrage of fire that hit the James. Usana merely smiled as he held himself steady.
Kol screamed above the noise. “Set a collision course for the colony… divert all power to the shields and engines… take it form life support take it from everything.”
Usna had no choice now he had to take direct action no matter the risk to himself or crew, he was more than willing to kill himself and his crew to save the lives of the people on the colony.
He jumped over the rails of the command section and plowed straight into Kol, his hands immediately went to kols neck and he gripped as hard as he could, he smacked Kols head into the deck as hard as he could before he himself felt something sharp dig into his back.
The Mysar guard behind him had stabbed him, but he was too late kol was dead, and the Starfleet crew on mass started fighting back those who had control enough to anyway.
Phaser fire flew across the bridge as the Starfleet crew and Mysar guards shot at each other, Usana just layed there as he felt the sharp pains radiating down his back. Minutes later the few Mysar on the bridge were dead and Theo Mcgarry the First officer of the James ran to Usana and said. “Now what?”
His voice was scared and Usana looked up and said. “Abandon ship.”
Theo went to pick Usana up but he pushed him off and said. “Someone needs to slow us down… the Raven has to stop the ship… go NOW.. that’s an order Theo.”
Theo moved away and ushered the remaining crew onto the turbolift… as he looked back at Usana and said. “Goodbye my friend.”
Usana pulled himself up onto his command chair he was losing blood fast and knew he had to do something. He pressed a few buttons on the command panel next to his chair and opened a channel to the Raven, who was seconds away. The ship was till being pelted with weapons fire but with the extra power in the shields he knew they would hit the colony before the shields failed… only the Raven could do enough damage to stop them.
“Ra..ven this is Usana… Kol… Is Dead… on a collision course for… colony… must be stopped… crew evacuating… no time to save them all… must be destroyed… I am locked out of the computer can’t stop… us… trying hard to.. slow ship down… Hope for survi..val gone…”
The St. James shot towards them, a pinpoint of grey accelerating to fill the centre of the Raven's viewscreen. The variable geometry nacelles decreased in their level of luminosity, indicating that it was indeed the St. James that was decelerating, it was not far from the colony now. The Raven was catching but still not fast enough. And then suddenly the Intrepid vessel, beginning to flounder under the weight of planetary defensive torpedo fire, found some speed from somewhere.
It lit up shakily, cruising through the defences and onwards to the beleaguered colony's surface, rushed and desperate, burning away in a final struggle to complete its task that seemed to be such an undertaking; and of course it was, being no less than that in the eyes of the Mysar, although the triviality of such a gesture, alighting through to the planet as if on a stick might be considered as such. On board this vessel that, according to its plan, would soon burn itself out, was a solitary thing, a manifestation of all the good that was left to the ship. It was perhaps then a thing to be glad of that this object was a human being.
Usana's broken voice transmitted to the USS Raven, his one final hope of saving the colony of Rasalgethi. The bridge crew of the Raven listened in silence to Captain Usana's voice; clear it was to them now that his implant's hold on his mind was irrevocably broken.
<Tag Torek for Usana dialogue?>
"Helm, full acceleration now." Blakus ordered after the destroyed voice of Usana ceased transmission; he was standing upright off to the port side just in front of the tactical rail.
Orders burst out across the bridge, relayed back and forth, spontaneously soaring in a crescendo of mainly human voices, all seemingly in random, chaotic fashion yet eventually forming the basis of a set of actions that led the vehicle on to its objective: stop the St. James. The CO validated the orders as questions of their confirmation were directed on to him; he then issued his own commands, leading the Raven into an unsteady and uncertain forward path.
Translating faster than the USS St. James at last, the over half-a-kilometre-long vessel closed on the slowing ship. Despite its state, Usana's debilitated vessel would nevertheless soon break itself on the untainted surface of Rasalgethi, without disintegrating in the atmosphere as a non-atmospheric-flight capable Starfleet vessel would - i.e. the Raven. Along with its inevitable (should the Raven fail) impact and destruction on the world, would doubtless come many deaths, assuming their information on the St. James's unchangeable trajectory was correct.
The once-more dormant orbital defence drones watched the Raven pass, their frontal armament of twin torpedo tubes still exposed and protruding from their bays. The faceted drones slipped by the side of the Raven's viewscreen. Blakus's eyes darted to the sides, watching them pass before returning his vision centrally to the rapidly imposing planet - now filling the vast majority of the unmagnified view they had. The XO tacitly snapped out more orders, ensuring the bridge crew knew their duties. Blakus found that he continued to remain remarkably calm; it was as if impassive tranquility, an infinite patience had enveloped him, and it did not alarm him in any sense that they had lost visual sight of the St. James amidst the shells of yellow cloud it was now falling through.
Still stood to the side of the tactical station, Blakus spoke to the helm, "Ensign O'Canon, are you coping without guidance systems?" The ensign did not reply at first, perhaps being too full of nervous energy to answer - it was his first assignment, after all.
"You have done remarkably thus far, Ensign, guiding us to the atmosphere based on nothing but mind and eye." He saw Torek nodding in his periphery. "Now, we should hope your angle of attack to this planet is not going to consign us to a death of fire. Once we have fired our shots, I need you to angle us so you have us skip back out of the atmosphere; don't let us get drawn into the atmosphere or we may not have the power to escape."
<Tag O'Canon>
Blakus's central field of vision had barely wavered from the viewscreen; on it, still a mass of swirly, yellow cloud formations, interlaced with wisps of condensed white matter. And still the St. James was out of sight, having been lost among the layers not five minutes ago.
"Will, scan for the St. James, estimate height above the surface. Unfortunately the tie-in between guidance and weapons means we can no longer gain a solid lock without some sighting or indication of the ship's presence. Also make weapons ready, we need full phasers and torpedoes ready for the instant we see the craft."
The bridge shook violently sparks flying and smoke billowing from consoles, the life support system that would normally have filtered out the smoke had been taken offline in Kol’s insane act of fury against the Federation.
Terrence Usana gripped the arms of his captain’s chair both out of a need to steady himself and out of pain. He looked to the console and in a sense of relief he noticed the Raven speeding up behind them.. he thought for a moment as his thoughts oddly became clear and tranquil amongst all the chaos around him he found an odd sense of peace.
His mind played over the last few days and within those memories he found great pain and great joy.. it was odd for him to find any joy in what happened but oddly he did… he watched his best friend of twelve years leave the bridge and he had no doubt Theo would survive and rescue as many of his beloved crew as possible.
His mind played over the drama that was the last few days… he re-thought his actions… It all started with his ship picking up a distress call from a damaged Mysar vessel… they transported the injured to the sickbay but looking back on it Terrence now knew that it was all a trap.. once on board the Mysar implanted the medical staff with the mind control devices and his medical staff in turn implanted others until the entire crew was under the control of the Mysar… Usana had let this happen under his nose on his own ship and that was a mistake that had cost many lives… He would never forgive himself even though he had to admit it could have happened to any ship or Captain he was just the unlucky one on the unlucky ship to have it happen to..
As the ship rocked and Usana lost more blood his thoughts stuck on his crew.. they had been through a lot together and faced many challenges he was saddened by the loss of that part of his life… he felt pangs of guilt as he imagined most of them not surviving and their names being dishonoured as murderers and traitors because of his failure.
He pressed the small control pad next to the command hair leaving a smudge of his blood on the panel as he did so.
“Captains final log… it has become clear either way this ships survival is not an option… I find myself trying to think of last words of wisdom before the end or some great quote they can place on my tomb… the best thing I can come up with to be my last words are… My crew was the best in Starfleet the things that they were forced to do was due to my own failure as Captain and not a failure on their part…. They lose their lives now as they lived and served on this ship… As heroes… my final request of Starfleet is to place any blame needed to be placed for the horrible acts we all committed squarely on my shoulders… and they be remembered with the honour that they so richly deserve… Captain Terrence Usana.. USS St. James.”
He pressed the console again as he sent of the log into subspace to be picked up by Starfleet and the USS Raven whom he hoped would be able to rescue as much of his crew as they could.
He looked to the view screen straight ahead, which showed the planets surface becoming ever closer… a tear rolled down his check as he braced himself for the fire that was about to consume him, his ship and his crew. He closed his eyes determined to make his final living thoughts good ones about his crew and friends. And in those moments which were to be his last he found peace and happiness with those thoughts.
"Aye, sir." came Will reply. A second later, he had the information.
"Sir. The St James appears to just be breaking into a high orbit of approximately 20,000 kilometers. But it still heading directly for the surface. They should collide in roughly 15 minutes. Phasers and torpedoes on standby, sir."
On the Bridge of the Raven, the Comm suddenly crackled to life ... =^= Ra.. ven this is Usana .. Kol .. Is Dead .. On a collision course for .. colony .. must be stopped .. crew evacuating .. no time to save them all .. must be destroyed .. I am locked out of the computer can’t stop .. us .. trying hard to .. slow ship down ..... Hope for survi .. val gone .......... =^= "Helm. Full acceleration now !" Blakus ordered, though Torek knew that if his Engineer could push even one more kilometer per hour out of the engines, he would do. =^= Captain .... Terrence .. Is there any way you can turn her ? =^= Torek almost shouted. "It's no good Sir. He can't hear you." Jamison said. Blakus took no time getting the ship to action stations. Carl watched as his people slipped smoothly into their roles. This was likely the last thing they were trained for, but 'Red Alert' meant just that, regardless of the situation. "We're approaching the freigh ... Sorry Captain, we're approaching what remains of the freighters." Ensign Parkin said from the science station, "Hell, no-one survived." Minutes later they closed on the now immobile orbital platforms. They wouldn't fire on the Raven, she was one of the ship's that had clearance to Rasalgethi. Terrence Usana's words were ringing in his ears as he watched the computer generated pin-prick that was the USS St James. It was closing on the colony at almost almost ninety times the speed of sound, almost one hundred twenty thousand kilometers per hour. Even from space, it wouldn't take the seven hundred thousand metric tonnes of the St James long to reach the surface .. 'All of five minutes with a steep enough dive angle' Carl thought to himself sadly. "Will. Scan the St James. Estimate height above the surface ... Unfortunately the tie-in between guidance and weapons means we can no longer gain a solid lock without some sighting or indication of the ship's presence. Also make weapons ready, we need full phasers and torpedo's ready for the instant we see the craft." Blakus ordered. From Jamison's report, it looked like the colonists, hundreds of thousands of men, women, and children, had roughly fifteen minutes to live .. The Raven was catching up, but would they have time. The life-line Carl needed came then ... "Sir. We've increased speed. We will be in weapons range in three point two minutes ... Several escape pods are being launched from the St James now. I'm counting six in total." the Duty Opps officer said, receiving a nod of confirmation from O'Canon. "Stand-by on ALL forward torpedo launchers !" Torek said, standing. "Five minutes to St James impact !" Parkin said. "Sir I'm receiving a Comm ... It's a data-stream from the St James ... It's a complete record of their files ... There's also a personal log, It's ... Captain Usana's." Parkin said quietly. "Time until we're in range ?" "Two point nine minutes." Jamison said. Four minutes to St James impact !" Parkin confirmed. "Play the log ..." Torek said. "Captains final log ... It has become clear either way this ships survival is not an option. I find myself trying to think of last words of wisdom before the end, or some great quote they can place on my tomb. The best thing I can come up with to be my last words are: 'My crew was the best in Star fleet. The things that they were forced to do were due to my own failure as Captain, and not a failure on their part ... They lose their lives now as they lived and served on this ship. As heroes. My final request of Star fleet is to place any blame needed to be placed for the horrible acts we all committed squarely on my shoulders, and they be remembered with the honor that they so richly deserve' ... Captain Terrence Usana. USS St James. Commanding"
The Bridge was totally silent as they listened to the man's final words. Every single person on the Raven, along with the men and women that had fought, in most circumstances, to the death, knew that Usana had done everything and more, to prevent what was going to happen. he was asking, no, hoping, that the Captain of the Raven, would see that he had no choice but to fire on the St James, killing the remaining Star fleet Officers and crew. To Carl, sat in complete silence, it felt like he was about to execute over a hundred men and women to pay for the actions of one insane, and thankfully now dead, megalomaniac .. "Three minutes to St James impact." Parkin said in the silence ..........
O'canon was going full speed towards their target as the captain has ordered, he was prepared for this he just didn't think it would happen so soon. Never the less if it would save the Rasalgethi he was more than happy to do it. The final log from the captain filled him with that moment of courage and it brought comfort to him as he steered the raven towards the St. James. He quickly ran his fingers up and down the Helm's console; typing figuration careful not to let the St. James out of his sight.
Torpedo launchers are loaded and ready, Captain." replied Will.
"Five minutes to St James impact !"
Will quickly did the math in his head. By the time the Raven was in weapons range, they would only have 1 minute and 51 seconds to stop the St James from crashing into the planet below. And the escape pods added another thorn. Would they be clear of the exploding ship in time? Could the Raven get them into a tractor beam and pulled to safety before the explosion? With shields up, they would not be able to transport. In the end, Will knew that if the few personnel on the pods had to be destroyed along with the St James to save the hundreds of thousands of lives on the planet, than it was his job to do so. With that thought, he could only imagine what the captain was going through, for it would be his job to order such a thing.
"Four minutes to St James impact!" came the count down.
Will received his orders and began moving his hands across his controls.
"Three minutes to St James impact." Ensign Parkin said, her voice faltering.
Time seemed to slow for Carl ... He sat in the Command seat, watching the planet as the Raven continued her head long plunge after the St James. The Raven had followed the St James by dropping from warp. Both ships were now heading toward certain destruction, or would be if one wasn't about to destroy the other. They were close enough now to see the Intrepid Class Star ship as she continued her dive toward the surface.
"Sir, the escape pods are not going to be clear if we open fire too soon." Parkin said.
Torek was about to ask the Helm Officer to re-position the Raven for a clear shot, but O'Canon didn't have the luxury of time to maneuver the massive ship. In fact it was all he could do to keep it going in the right direction at the moment, and Carl knew he would have enough on his hands trying to prevent the Raven following the St James and her remaining crew down to their inevitable deaths ..
"Two minutes thirty seconds to St James impact." Ensign Parkin said.
"Time until we're within range ?" Blakus asked.
"Twenty seconds Sir."
No-one spoke as the young woman chokingly counted down the seconds ..
"Fifteen seconds .......... Ten seconds .......... Nine ..... Eight ..... Seven ....."
Torek wasn't listening to the count, he was hearing Terrance Usana's words from his log entry. Carl knew that there was well over a hundred men and women on the St James, and in a few seconds Carl would reduce them to mere atoms .. They had wives, husbands, families .. 'How the hell can I give the order to destroy those people ?' he thought. But he knew he had to give the order, because not to, would result in almost a quarter of a million people loosing their lives ..
"Six ..... Five ..... Four ....."
Carl closed his eyes. Star ship Commanders had been called upon to make decisions that affect the lives on whole worlds, or that of a single individual, but there had only been two other occasions where a Star ship Captain had found himself with no choice but to fire of a sister ship ..
Three ..... Two .........."
Now, Carl Torek, Commanding Officer of the newly commissioned USS Raven-B would become the third on an almost infamous list.
One ..... ZERO .........."
~~~~~~~~~~
Two long, long seconds passed, before Carl's Exec' looked at him.
"Sir." he sad quietly, "Captain, we need to fire."
Carl remained completely silent, almost fascinated with the image on the view screen. Somehow, his mind told him he needed to act, and act NOW ! .. Because every second he hesitated, the St James plunged a further two thousand kilometers into the atmosphere, and thus that distance closer to Rasalgethi .. He looked at his friend and First Officer, total pity welling up within him and uttered the word he never thought he would need to ..
"Fire !" ..........

The turbolift to the bridge closed and Theo McGarry closed his eyes for a second.. wishing that he could face the incoming fate of the ship beside his best friend o he didn’t have to face it alone… but he knew that was not what Usana wanted nor would permit, besides someone needed to get as many people off of the ship as possible.
The turbolift stopped and the small group of four Starfleet Officers stepped out.. this immediately caught the attention of two Mysar who were running down the deck screaming something about getting to a life pod…
Theo raised his phaser and shot two shots in quick succession.. as he muttered. “Pods are for Starfleet.”
The two Mysar slumped dead at the thought of hooting people in the back Theo would normally have been disgusted.. but these Mysar were going to use escape pods that could carry hi crew to safety.. and killing them was well worth the chance several of his crew would survive.
He waved the people behind him forward as they ran as fas as they could towards the closest collection of escape pods… upon arrival Theo ushered the first group inside.. one of them held the door open for him but he shook his head as he said.
“There is still more time… I am going to try to get more of the crew… go now.”
The door closed and he heard the loud burst the pods thrusters made when they blast off form the hull.
He ran down the corridor quickly popping his head into the rooms he thought may have people in.. upon getting to the mess hall he discovered a group of twenty officers kneeling on the ground as a Mysar guard held his gun to the backs of their heads, running inside he fired shots at the guard his phaser set well over the kill setting, the guard died instantly but Theo shot him several more times as the guard fell backward… his sense of revenge was high.
The officers got up and quickly looked to the window which showed the shields clearly being engulfed by the flames the ships odd entry into the atmosphere made. “Lets go Now.. to the escape Pods.”
He led the way killing two more Myar along the way before he reached the pods with the crewmembers he found.. he ushered them inside and he knew by the now more violet rocking off the ship that he didn’t have time to make one more run.. he jumped inside one of the pods as he was ordered and initiated the thrusters..
He was left to watch out of the window.. as the Galaxy Class Starship closed in from behind and towards the St. James.. his ship and his friends.. he knew what was going to happen but he wasn’t prepared for how badly it would be to see it happen.
Five Torpedoes flew out of the raven and hit the St. James… it took one to buckle the shields and the rest ploughed straight into the engineering section of the ship… seconds later a large explosion ripped the ship apart. The flash was blinding and Theo couldn’t stand to watch he merely looked at his console as a few tears fell from his face.
