After Ambassador Tedak departed from sickbay, Saarok remained there keeping his eye on the Ambassador and her aide. As Magellan had not requested his presence in greeting the Tholian visitors he sumarized that they had a desire to visit their injured delegate in sickbay and therefore he could remain here and greet them. Also he had decided to to speak with the aide of the injured Ambassador as there seemed no point in doing that. The man could not shine any more light on the situation and logic stated that pushing his buttons as humans say, would be contraproductive at this time and he could not gain anything by proceeding down that path.

With the Empress and her entourage seeing to Lovine and satisfied that Kasumi had provided adequate security Magellan returned to Operations.
It stil unnerved him to see so many Tholian battleships out there but hopefully this opportunity could end the war and open up a new future. The hub was fully in place and tests were being made upon access to the Vaadwaur Sub space corridor. If all went well joint mission between the Federation, Klingons, Romulans and Tholians could begin by the end of the month.
It conitinued to distress Magellan that an assasination attempt had been made on Lovine whilst on a federation starship. The obvious culprit was the man with him at the time - Tedak. But he knew with certainty that he was not responsible. Vebn was more likely a candidate but such a move was likely to be beyond his reach. That left only one result, a traitor in starfleet. No one on the Nevada knew about the ambassadorial party going aboard therefore it had to be someone on Assailant who would have access to the Nevada replicators whilst it was briefly docked. The list was near endless. He hoped Yang would be able to help him sort it out. In fact he felt things needed progressing on that front. Healer T Val could provide medical insight into how the poison could have been replicated and could work with Yang... he paused before calling both of them to meet with him and get the investigation off to a formal start.

T'Val approached the bed, looking back at Stuart who was engrossed with his work at his desk. Arching an eyebrow, she approached the sleeping Romulan, wary of the Tholian that stood guard beside the bed. She and Stuart had been working hard on finding what exactly the poison was, and how it had gotten into Lovine's replicator.
"Ambassador, please come with me," she spoke softly, once she'd woken him. The ambassador too had suffered some effects from the poison, which in truth wasn't even a poison at all, just poisonous to Lovine as apparently she had a known allergy against it. In combination with the potent drink, it had given the Romulan diplomat an undesired after effect, namely a very strong hangover, which, in this particular Romulan, never went well.
Sleepily, the Romulan rose to his feet, his hand touching the cocoon that surrounded Lovine's prone body. Startled, he jerked his hand back, but briefly replaced it just as quickly, as if wanting to convey some form of ensurance that everything was going to be fine. He followed his ex-wife to a vacant bed and obediently lay down on it when he was instructed to do so. He froze when the diagnostic unit closed over his torso, but remained still.
"This will only take a few minutes, feel free to go back to sleep," the woman informed him gently, "I am merely going to check whether the poison still has any effect on your system. You are slow in response and obviously very much in need of sleep. Stuart will keep an eye on Lovine, while I go to report to Lin." She pressed a hypospray against his throat. "This will ensure that you will go back to sleep," she promised, "I will wake you in a few hours, or sooner if I have more news. You have my word."
As she walked away, she tapped her combadge. "Ensign Yang, could you meet me in Admiral Lin's office?" Again she tapped her combadge. "Admiral Lin, I have more information for you. I have asked Miss Yang to join us." She needed to inform him she was coming, or she'd be barred entry to OPS. This wasn't the first time that had happend.
Upon arrival, however, she was immediately escorted to the admiral's office. "The poison isn't exactly a poison," she reported immediately, "it's a substance that Ambassador Lovine is highly allergic to. How it was programmed into the drinks Tedak replicated, I do not know. I presume someone who knows how to manipulate a single replicator. It did affect the Romulan ambassador as well, but not to the same degree. In combination with the drink it formed a potent intoxicant, which resulted in a potent hangover. He is still recovering and should be fine in a few hours. I have given him something to help him sleep as he still complains about a severe headache."
