[Briefing]
Savot nodded at Fire's personnel selection, "Agreed, her record indicates she is not only quite proficient on her own but also capable of functioning well supervising a group."
The vulcan listened to the Admiral's words, intrigued by hearing tha Captain Picard was in favor of giving aid to a creature that had killed one of his officers in cold blood, and his already significant respect for Picard rose. Jackson then recapped the assignments and requested a break from the proverbial briefing 'huddle'.
Savot spoke as he rose from the table, "A final point of interest; I'd like all ship's personnel to continue to refer to me as Captain while on duty. It's faster to say and thereby more efficient in a working environment. Dismissed."
When everyone else had departed, another captain may have felt compelled to apologize for the back-and-forth debating that took place during the briefing, but Savot had never wavered in his belief that that sort of thing was a main part of a crew's purpose. Each brought in their own perspective and point of view and by hearing each of these a captain was better equipped to plot a course of action. That didn't necessarily make Savot a popular person since he had to draw the final line, but either fortunately or unfortunately being liked was not part of a captain's job description.
"Your information was most helpful Admiral; you prepared quite thoroughly for this assignment", Savot said clasping his hands behind him at the small of his back. "Our ETA in the Zed Lapis sector and our rendevous with the Changeling team is approximately 17.2 hours. The El Salvador is at your disposal en route; let me know if there's anything you require."
<Admiral response if desired>
*****************************************
Sometime later, Commander Jackson returned to the bridge. Entering and spotting Savot and Admiral MC7_OF_9 she walked over and quietly said, “A moment please sirs.. in private.”
Savot nodded and gestured for the other two to preceed him into the Ready Room. Stacey then addressed the male pair and she said, “Sirs.. Colonel K’ratak has expressed his intention to send a formal complaint about our actions in this mission to the Klingon High Council.. I assume they would either have no problem with this or they have been informed?”
Savot arched an eyebrow slightly at this news as he nodded, "Quite correct Commander. Given not only their specific involvement in and losses suffered during the Dominion War while aiding us, but also their status as a Federation ally no mission of this potential scope would have been authorized by the Federation command structure had we not secured the agreement of the Empire. To proceed without it would be rather rude I should think and strain our relations with the Klingons."
"While I am not privy to the exact words exchanged by both parties I can assure you the High Council was fully informed and gave its consent for the mission to go ahead. And while the Colonel is of course free to converse with his people whenever he desires, I am surprised he would assume Starfleet would go behind the Empire's back so to speak", Savot gave a facial shrug before resuming his usual countenance, "However I commend his adherence to proper protocol in informing you of his intentions."

"Commander Hope I would like you to meet Natasha Yar." He said, "This is a holographic image of her during the Armus incident shortly before her death." He then lifted one of the phaser rifles, "I am planning on modifying a rifle so that its settings are altered every point five seconds while its being fired. And, raising its settings by taking away its safeties."
As for the tomb we need to find some way to entertain and distract Armus during transport. I can modify force fields to keep others out, but I think if we can keep him happy where he is we shouldn't have a problem. We also need to find some way to protect the bridge I was thinking that if the force fields around the room fail then we need to set up some sort of perimeter around the main sections of that 1/3 of the ship."
Before she could reply, S’reena heard another set of footsteps approaching and she smiled to herself. “Hello Stacey,” she greeted casually, though she kept her attention on Fire. Obviously, she couldn’t really see the representation of Yar, and as Auric had no real sense what to do with a hologram, only portions of that sort of visible information were passed on.
“Apologies for eavesdropping.. Counsellor’s habit.. but as for forcefields around the bridge it is a good idea.. however I think you should put some thought as to what part of the ship this tomb for Armus will be placed in.. I think having it in the shuttle bay would be worth thought.. If we removed the shuttlecraft first then have the tomb as you say in there with the force fields of course.. if anything should go wrong.. the last resort option to open the shuttle bay doors and blow him into space remains an open one.. after all if our holographic friend here proves anything it is that if he wished it he can kill with a thought.. and my main concern is once on board a federation warship he may decide gaining revenge on a universe that so clearly wronged him is a more attractive option than join a community… anyway put some thought into it and brief us when your ready”
“I don’t really consider it to be a tomb,” the Romulan replied, “after all a tomb is for a deceased and Armus can be considered to be sentient and therefor alive. I consider it a mere mode of transportation, and I strongly object against forcing Armus into this tomb by exactly that, means of force. Negotiation should be applied, which I believe is what the admiral is aboard for?”
She paused, considering both fellow officers’ words. “No I definitely believe he shouldn’t be forced. As for distraction, shouldn’t the promise of being with people of his kind, in a manner of speaking, be sufficient distraction? If he’s intelligent, perhaps we can provide him with a means of communication to the crew, and have it learn what it is like to have friends? The Founders will most certainly be able to teach him, eventually, but we should be prepared to prepare it for that option. If that makes any sense at all.”
This time, she turned to face Stacey. “And is El-Salvador a warship? I always believed we were a vessel of exploration. Seek out new life....Armus, to us, is new life. Should we not use this opportunity to learn from it, and communicate? Yes it operated on hate, and loneliness. But now it won’t be alone anymore, and we promise it companionship, in the form of the Founders. Surely that prospect would keep it from killing us? If it does, it’d never reach them and it’d yet be alone again for an unknown period of time. Yes, the bridge should be protected, but not so that Armus won’t be able to communicate. We must keep it company. It’s what it craves, and it’s what it will have, when we reach our destination. If no-one does, I will volunteer. Provided, of course, the captain gives permission.”
She picked up a PADD, which was lying nearby on a console. "As for mode of transportation, we could use the exact measurements and properties as was used on Kollos' casket. With a few modifications, of course."

**backpost for S’reena**
She held up her hands in a calming motion. “Commander.. Tomb was the wrong choice of words. Apologies.. Now have you ever read the specifications for the El Salvador or Promethues class vessel in general.. It is armed to the teeth.. has multi vector assault mode.. not multi vector exploration mode.. It was designed during the dominion war.. as protection against both the Dominion and the Borg.. It has very little in the way of crew comforts when compared to a galaxy class vessel or even sovereign.. has little room for families and wasn’t designed to have them on board.. it may be used for exploration now.. but this is and was designed to be a warship.”
She cleared her throat. “As for keeping Armus entertained.. I would prefer no actual living people were placed in communication with him for any length of time.. perhaps the Emergency Medical Hologram.. can talk to him as well as monitor it’s health.. but that is for the Captain to decide.”
Her mood not fantastic due to the mission itself and then Colonel K’ratak, she did something she rarely did and even more surprisingly to S’reena of all people.
“And Commander please, when I am on duty Commander or Ma'am.. it sets a bad example for the junior crew when you refer to me as Stacey."
She turned to James Fire and said. “Lieutenant, the use of force will not be applied to Armus.. if he wishes not to come aboard he will be left alone on the planet.. however given his nature and past examples of power.. all I want is some safety guards put in place.. should things go wrong.. he will be a guest not a prisoner.. keep that in mind please.. so work together come up with some plans and present them to the Captain.”
She took a deep breath and turned around, thoughts running through her mind that maybe she wasn’t cut out for First Officer, or maybe she had shown to much lenience in the past.
**Ready Room**
<Tag Mc7 if wished>
she nodded. “I assumed the Klingon High Council was informed, but better safe than sorry.. I have began to make arrangements for non essential personnel to be moved out of the primary hull.. the less people on this hull the better.. seeing as we don’t currently have an assigned Chief Medical Officer.. perhaps it would be best to have the Emergency Medical Hologram with Armus during the trip to the gamma quadrant.. we don’t know how his biology for want of a better word will react to space travel.. Nor for that matter how he will react inside the Worm Hole.. given his already negative emotional state the last thing we want him to have is a headache.”

Arriving in his office he started to work on the security measures needed, He went through his crew roster looking for personal with mental discipline. He found a few officers and made sure they were assigned to each shift. He wasn't sure what effect Armus would have on the security detail but figured with at least one person with mental ablities would know if there was any outside forces working on the detail.
Before he finished he opened a channel to the klingon emipre and got he we asking for. Martok image filled the screen " I assume you know why I"m calling"
" Of course the founders and this Armus creature"
" So you know what the federation is trying to do then and you don't object''
" No K'ratak we dont in fact we hope it works exactly like we think it will. Then we will have an excuse to finish the founders once and for all"
Any excuse to finish the founders would sought after, the empire wasn't blind they were hoping this mission would go badly and the founders would be effected to the point where they could be destoryed.
" The federation may not see what might happen but we do and hope for it. If not we will look for another excuse that can't be questioned. We got lucky if the federation wants to try and find something good in something evil let them. It will be there fault and they will not stand in our way if it goes bad because they brought on them selves. So you see K'ratak its a chance we have been waiting for"
Looking back at Martok he was truely a wise klingon a blood thristy one but smart" I will not support you on this Martok we still haven't recovered yet I will do everything I can to make sure this mission works"
" Be my guest K'ratak but remember your dealing with pure evil you and I both know where this might lead."
He closed the channel and continued working on the security details, including the escort need for the Admiral. Some how he didn't see the admiral sitting this one out. His heart was troubled and he was worried that war might be on the horizon. Finishing up he head down to the to where Commander Hope was working to check on the containment field. He arrived in time to see Commander Jackson talking with Hope and waited his turn.

Mc7 listened as Savot replied to Commander Jackson. Once he had finished Mc7 piped up,
"I can confirm that Command has been in contact with the High Council regarding this mission, and although it is fair to say they had some reservations, they eventually agreed that the benefits of the mission could outweigh the risks. I thought that was very nice of them, since it's the El Salvador and her crew that's taking the risk, and not a Defence Force vessel. But I guess that's just the cynical old Admiral in me speaking."
The Commander nodded, though Mc7 was unsure if she was nodding in acknowledgement of the information, or the cynical Admiral comment.
"That's not a bad idea Commander. I'm hoping this mission will go smoothly, with Armus agreeing to come with us and join with the Great Link. Whether or not things will go to plan remains to be seen as always."
Tapping a few commands into the PADD he held in his hand, Mc7 continued to speak,
"I have transferred all the relevant files to both of you, the main ones I'd glance over are Starfleet Intelligence's latest report on the Founders activities, which doesn't say much in all honesty, at least nothing that Odo hasn't already communicated to us. The other files relate to the Enterprise Logs, along with the debriefings of the Away Team which encountered Armus. Commander Jackson, what is our estimated rendezvous time with the Founders?"

Nodding she made a mental note to read the file Admiral Mc 7 had transferred to her, though she doubted there would be much information to glean from the files especially on Armus, the files were thirty odd years old and the Enterprise crew didn’t spend much time with Armus. And Stacey had studied several of Deanna Troi’s reports before and always found them to be too optimistic about things rather than Stacey’s preferred style of realistic.
And as for the reports on the Changelings well they were always secretive, and Stacey doubted anything new to her would be in them. Apart from odd bits of information.
Mc 7 asked her how long until they arrived and Stacey closed her eyes for a second working out how long ago since she had asked helm and then subtracting that time from the estimate.
“Two hours and twenty five minutes Admiral at current speed, assuming we don’t need to make course corrections or slow down sir… I was just in engineering they should have a report for us before we arrive.”
She turned her head and looked at the speeding stars outside the window, quietly and thoughtfully she remarked. ‘It was decades ago and only lasted three years but it seems no matter how fast we go we still seem to be affected by the ripples the war created at every turn… A wound that refuses to heal.”
She turned at let out a deep breath. “Sirs I have some preparing to do.” She nodded her head and left the ready room.
Looking around the bridge she moved and sat in her first officer seat and tapped the panel in front of her, she brought up the files on Armus and the Dominion and quietly read as the bridge staff went about their work.

After studying the containment area he headed for the bridge he had one last request for Commander Jackson. He arrived to see her sitting at her station she was busy study mission logs same one's he had gone over.
" Commander Jackson I have just finished studying the containment area, I have a request for a few minor changes with your permission. I would like medical in stall a monitoring device of brain wave activity. We don't know if Armus has any special ablities but if he can influnce somebody's mind it might be wise to have a alarm install that can be monitored."<Tag jackson> She was is commanding officer and he felt she deserved to know everything " Commander I have also been in touch with the high council as well. They are aware of the mission and support it but not for the same reasons the federation does. They are betting that the mission will fail and give them a reason to attack the founders. They are hoping for the same effect that we are worried about. I thought you should know, I will do everything I can to make sure it doesn't happen. As normal the council is hoping for battle and that the founders will be effected in away to give them a reason for it. I fear that my people blood lust will be the down fall of our empire one day" <Tag Jackson>

She looked up when a shadow was cast on her console, she took a deep breath and looked back down at the console. “Yes Colonel?”
She read the reports as she listened to K’ratak a skill she had learned in years of Counselling session, she nodded occasionally to let him know she was listening just multi tasking.
“Medical has yet to offer an opinion Colonel, but I have already suggested something similar to the Commodore.”
He continued to talk about the empire and Stacey sighed heavily, she pressed her console closing the reports and looked up at him. She stood and while significantly shorter than k’ratak stared him down.
“Observation room, now!”
walking into the room she waited until both were inside and the door was closed. With her hands on her hips and Betazoid black eyes staring at k’ratak she said with a commanding tone.
“Mr. K’ratak.. those are the kind of things you will report in private.. the junior officers tend to get nervous when senior staff talk about cataclysmic failure of a mission, and the possibility of war.”
She turned and took a deep breath, turning back to face colonel K’ratak. She was still angry as hell but held herself together with a façade of calm.
“The next time you have a beef you will inform me in private, When I am on duty and you address me I expect a Ma’am.. You don’t have to respect me but will you will respect my position as first officer… now get yourself back to engineering and offer any help Hope and fire may need.. I want a small list of Marines you intend to be on the primary hull within the hour.. And I don’t want to hear another word about the Empire nor your speculations on its impending doom.. This is a Starship not a cadets lecture hall… Dismissed Colonel.”
<tag- but short reply please>
She nodded at him and watched him leave, she was again alone and she let out a sigh while thinking about a million things and taking a moment to cool off before goig back to the bridge.

James listened to all the ideas, "The weapons won't be used it's for self defense purposes only. If Armus agrees to go with us I have a thought Commander Hope." He looked up from the PADD, "What if, since we will most likely place him in the shuttle bay, we placed force fields throughout specific points throughout the ship including around the shuttle bay. We don't need to encase him just clear out the shuttle bay of all the shuttles and cargo. We can use the shuttles to escort the third of the ship we can modify their engines to give them a few hours of warp drive it'll take longer, but it's a risk that may need to be taken."
James was tapping on the PADD running simulations as he spoke, "We can set up our security at each point in the grid. As for entertainment instead of endangering crew members we can set up holo emitters throughout the shuttle bay as a means of entertaining our guest if he agrees to come along with us." He finished hoping that she would go along with his plan.

[Ready Room]
Savot nodded firmly at Jackson's reports as to the evacuation of the primary hull, "That had been my intention as well, excellent judgement. I also concur as to the presence of the EMH aboard the primary hull to monitor and treat Armus if necessary."
She then gave the 2.5 hour ETA for their meeting up with the transport carrying the Changelings and Admiral Mc7_of_9 gave them what intel he had available. "Thank you Admiral, I shall review these in the time we have remaining before reaching the Changeling's vessel", the vulcan bowed his head politely and left the room with the other 2 officers, though he himself headed first to his quarters where he had the ship's computer access the PADDs and recite them audibly while he changed from his dress shirt to his standard one.
************************************** [1.5 hours prior to Founder rendevous]
The captain entered Engineering with his hands clasped at his back and received the joint reports of both Hope and Fire. Savot first addressed his Science Officer with a bow of his head, "Your willingness to volunteer your presence is commendable Commander; however, I think it wiser to keep you aboard the other 2/3 of the ship as well. Given the uncomfortably large number of unknown variables associated with this mission the probability of our preparing for every eventuality is minute. Therefore the most logical application of experienced personnel is in the area that won't be immediately impacted should something go wrong. Though it would be helpful to have Mr. Forbes or another of your staff aboard to aid the EMH in his monitoring of Armus."
Savot then listened to a rundown of Fire's plans as well. He again acknowledged the officer with a nod before speaking, "Since it is unlikely both of the remaining portions of the El Salvador herself will be incapacitated by anything that goes awry with Armus I feel the reconfiguring of escort shuttles an unnecessary use of our limited preparation time. However, once the shuttlebay has been secured via force field do ensure that there are functioning holo-emitters within at least to allow for the EMH's presence should Armus require treatment. The matter of... entertainment we'll address should the need arise. I intend to remain in communication with the entity in order to 'keep it company' as it were though admittedly I am not reknowned for my social skills."
He commended them both on their work, then excused himself to return to the bridge to oversee the final approach to the Changeling transport.
((During my 5-day absence Commander Jackson and the Admiral can feel free to progress the plot as far as they're comfortable with, within reason of course. If people are really on-the-spot I could see getting the Founders aboard and reaching Armus' planet, but I doubt we'd get much farther than that. Enjoy, and good luck.))

He followed her into the room she had indicated.
“Mr. K’ratak.. those are the kind of things you will report in private.. the junior officers tend to get nervous when senior staff talk about cataclysmic failure of a mission, and the possibility of war.”

He was in shock he had shown nothing but respect his blood boiled he wanted to scream. He was a klingon but also a federation officer.
" Very COMMANDER JACKSON! I will see what I can help with in engineering. Uh 2 things Commander if anybody wearing this uniform doesn't realize the danger we face they don't belong. 2nd Commander and more importanly I didn't have to say anything about the councils reason I did because I had respect for you. Most importatnly a crew should respect person as well as the rank. It gives them faith in that person when things go bad, up until a moment ago you had both. Good day COMMANDER I will report to engineering and see what assistance I can provide." <Tag Jackson>
He left the room with out another word or looking back and headed to engineering. When he arrived he found Lt Fire talking to the captain. He waited for them to finish while he waited he transmitted his security details to commander jackson from a empty work station. When they finished talking he spoke up " Captain and Lt I'm her by order of Commander Jackson to provide what ever assistance you may need. I over heard the details I think its a sound plan but might suggest adding something. We do not know Armus make up deep space might not effet him I suggest a container perfectly sealed one that can be tractored beam to a safe location just in case. Its only a suggestion but we are with out knowledge right now" <Tag Savot and Fire>

He left the room with out another word or looking back and headed to engineering. When he arrived he found Lt Fire talking to the captain. He waited for them to finish while he waited he transmitted his security details to commander jackson from a empty work station. James nodded, "Your concern is noted, however we do not intend on encasing him. If anything ill fated should occur, or he should try to do anything threatening I intend on connecting shuttle bay doors to the Helmsman's station on the primary bridge. Now Commander Hope, Colonel, and Commodore if you'll excuse me I need to start the preparations for the primary hull's transit."
James began to walk away, "Oh and Colonel, the phaser rifles have been modified, they may not kill Armus but they will cause him some grave pain." He pointed towards the table with the modified rifle and the PADD with the spec's to modify the remaining rifles. <tag K'ratak if any reply, tag Hope if any reply>
(Will backpost if needed)
=^=Shuttle Bay=^=
1.5 Hours later...
James continued to watch his work crew modifying the holoemitters that they had recently placed in the shuttlebay. He would press his commbadge, "Lieutenant Fire to Lieutenant Kelley, are you able to open the shuttle bay doors now?"
"Yes Lieutenant the connection is made."
James turned around for a second, "Very good, and Lieutenant good luck." He had learned that she was part of the skeleton crew that was going to be on board the primary portion of the ship.
"Thank you Lieutenant...Lieutenant Kelley out."
James smiled and turned looking towards Ensign O'Hare and Petty Officer Lucas, "Place that emitter there and the grid should work."
Lucas nodded, "Yes sir." He then attached the emitter into the slot, "Computer run diagnostic three beta alpha."
"Working...Holo-emitters working within normal parameters."
James smiled, "Great work. Ensign O'Hare you will be a part of the small strike team with Lieutenant Beverly Lucas. So pack a few things and get some rest. Petty Officer Lucas go check on the small team setting up the controls on the bridge. I want all points to be monitored at all times throughout the journey. I am going to go grab my things and make my way to my backup quarters.
He watched as they both nodded and walked towards their intended destinations and sighed. He still felt as though he should have been on board the primary hull, but he assumed they were right. He left the shuttle bay thinking quietly to himself as he read through the PADD with all the minor details about security and the like.

She sat on the bridge feeling more than a little worn out, she watched the view screen rather absently just watching the stars speed by. Her fingers tapped the side of the Captains chair as she waited for someone to tell her the Founders transport ship was in range.
The bridge crew were rather quite compared to their usual behaviour, normally Stacey would have no objection to small talk on the bridge as long as work was done, but now if someone opened their mouth for anything other than work they were rewarded with a filthy look from Jackson.
Ten minutes later the report she was waiting for came in. the Ensign standing at tactical spoke up.
“We are picking up a transport ship Ma’am.. we are being hailed.”
Stacey stood up and took a deep breath and replied. “On Screen.”
The View screen flickered and the serene view of space was replaced by an image of a Human man wearing what looked like dirty civilian clothes. He smiled slightly and said.
“About time, the Changelings haven’t stopped telling me you guys are late.. they are very punctual.”
Stacey raised an eyebrow and replied curtly. “I would hardly call ten minutes a major inconvenience.. please inform your guests we have arrived and to prepare for transport within five minutes.. El Salvador out.’
The screen flickered again now to show an image of the rather old transport ship, Stacey stood up straight and tapped her comm. Badge.
“Commander Hope, Lieutenant Fire.. report to Transporter room one.. I am guessing the founders will want to get straight to work on the mission.”
<Tag Hope and Fire>
tapping her comm. Badge again she said. “Jackson to Admiral Mc 7.. the Founders will be beaming onboard in five minutes.. if you would like to greet them sir they will be in transporter room one.”
Stacey for her part was not at all looking forward to greeting them at all.. she had never met a founder face to face before, and could have gone her whole life without doing so.. but duty required different of her. Stepping into the turbolift Stacey began to feel a little sick to her stomach.
**Two minutes later**
She walked into the transporter room and saw Fire and Hope were already there. She nodded curtly at them and said. “No doubt they will be eager to hear your ideas for transporting Armus to their homeworld.. Let them have access to our files regarding your plans and Armus. But nothing else.”
<Tag both>
She turned to the transporter chief and took a deep breath before saying “Energize.”
She turned around in time to see the blue transporter beam bring the five individuals into view, once they were fully on board Stacey stepped forward.
“Welcome aboard.. I am Commander Stacey Jackson First Officer.. Commodore Savot apologises for not being here to greet you himself but he is indisposed at the moment, This is Commander S’reena Hope our Chief Science Officer and Lieutenant James Fire our Chief Engineer they will be working with you on ways to transport Armus.. We have our own ideas but your input will be appreciated.”
One of the five stepped forward and held out his hand, Stacey took it and shook his hand a little surprised the Founder had gone to the trouble to learn Human customs.
“Greetings Commander.. We are grateful for the welcome.. my team has been eager to discuss the plans with your crew.”
The other four stepped forward and walked straight to Hope and Fire and asked. “Have you decide on a method of transport?”.. “Have you put any consideration into Armus’s biology?”.. “What about security measures.”

James Fire sat quietly listening to his senior officers and chief talk back and forth about their plans for the mission. He looked towards Lieutenant Lucas and Chief Oranzo and smiled, "Okay, okay enough both of you please. Is everthing in place Lieutenant?"
Beverly looked fell silent feeling rather defeated as she looked towards her superior officer and smiled cautiously, "Yes sir."
James nodded, "Very good. Alright, Lieutenant Lucas brief the team that you have selected for this mission and finish up the tasks that have been placed." He turned to face everybody else, "You are all dismissed, and Chief Oranzo a word please." He watched as the others left, and he looked towards his departmental leading chief petty officer. "Chief it pleases me to inform you that Starfleet has approved your early promotion to Senior Chief."
Chief Oranzo smiled his predacessor had been a Master Chief, but he had been killed three months ago and he was the one that Lieutenant Fire had selected to take the job over as a temporary fix. "Thank you sir."
James nodded, "Don't thank me Senior Chief, thank Starfleet I just pushed the paperwork a little faster then most -..." His commbadge chirped,
“Commander Hope, Lieutenant Fire.. report to Transporter room one.. I am guessing the founders will want to get straight to work on the mission.”
"You are dismissed Senior." He would say, then press his commbadge, "On my way."
=^=Transporter Room=^=
James arrived quickly and pulled down his uniform and smoothed it out in time to see Commander Hope arrive then shortly thereafter Commander Jackson.
Shortly thereafter several Founders had been beamed on board, he hadn't had any contact with them. In fact his service didn't start until after the war and he knew very little other then what he'd learned during his time at the academy. Many of his mentors had been in the war, and he'd read up on Commander Jackson when he first was assigned to the ship. He could see the pain in her eyes though it may have only been there for a second. And, he had noticed that it was perhaps the same pain that had appeared in the observation lounge earlier.
“Have you decide on a method of transport?”.. “Have you put any consideration into Armus’s biology?”.. “What about security measures.”
James heard all the questions posed at the same time, and pulled out his PADD, "We have prepared the shuttle bay for transporting Armus, he will be placed behind force fields. There will be several checkpoints put into place throughout that portion of the ship including around the bridge itself." He handed one of them the PADD, "Here are the finer details of the security that will be in place during transportation." That was all it contained nothing other then where security sentries and the force fields would be in place. He then fell silent so that Commander Hope could add anymore to the mix.

He was a little shocked when he heard the call from Commander Jackson on who was to report to the transporter room. He thought as head of security he would have been included but seemed there little out burst earlier excluded him. He kept his feelings in check and tapped his combadge after everybody left. "Security team bravo report to your stations security team charlie take your post was and have a 2 man roving team"
He wondered just how bad this was going to get before it got better. He wasn't about to run to the captain with it. If this was a klingon ship the matter would already be solved but it wasn't and he was a federation officer. He would just have to work with what he had and try to deal with Commander Jackson on a differnt level for the time being.
He didn't like her very much right now but then again there would always be people you didn't like. You had to put your feelings away and learn to work with them in away that allowed you to do your job.

Looking at the four guest Changelings swarm around Hope and Fire while firing questions at them made Stacey grateful she wasn’t in their position, turning to the lead Founder she said. “I am heading back to the bridge you are free to accompany me or remain with Commander Hope and Lieutenant fire.”
He thought for a very brief moment and replied. “I believe I will accompany you.”
Stacey nodded a little disappointed he took her up on her offer and turned to Fire and Hope and said.
“Extend our guests every courtesy.. we will reach Armus in one hour, we will need arrangements finalized by then.”
<Tag both- feel free to NPC a Founder to help you out>
She left the transporter room followed closely by the Founder who had chosen to shadow her.
Stepping into the turbolift she cleared her throat and it dawned on her that she was alone with him.. much to her displeasure she felt her skin crawl and when he spoke up her stomach dropped.
“You don’t like us do you Commander.. While Human facial expressions can at times confuse me.. I can clearly see it in your eyes.”
Stacey sighed looking forward the whole time. “Like a lot in the federation and no doubt the Dominion.. I still carry scars from the war.. that will not cloud my judgment in our dealings though my duty is more important then my feelings.”
He nodded and for his part looked interested rather than offended. “Gaining ourselves a new reputation is an outmost priority of ours.. I hope by the end of this you have changed your mind Commander.”
Stacey nodded. “Maybe.” But her mind said ‘don’t count on it.’
The turbolift stopped and opened onto the bridge, her eyes immediately fell on K’ratak, who she would have thought would have gone out of his way to avoid her.
“Mr. K’ratak.. have deck eight cleared of personnel.. then program the computer to have twelve holographic ‘intruders’ in random locations, then have your Marines and yourself take them down.. I looked over your training records for your Marines.. Disappointing.. you and your men have forty five minutes to complete the exercise and I want a report afterwards.”
<Tag K’ratak, an opportunity to show what your guys can do)

<<Backpost to coincide with the Founders arrival>>
Mc7 was sitting at the desk in the State Room he had been given for his stay aboard the El Salvador. It never ceased to amaze him how a few little gold pips on his collar meant he was given treatment, and quarters, that one of the old Kings of Earth would find opulent. Some of the happiest times he had spent on a starship had been spent as a Junior Officer, sharing what at the time felt like shoe box sized quarters with three others. He had just finished going over the latest Intel reports on the Founders for the third time, when Commander Jackson's voice came over the Comm channel, "Jackson to Admiral Mc 7.. the Founders will be beaming on board in five minutes.. if you would like to greet them sir they will be in transporter room one.”
Mc7 acknowledged the information, rose from the desk, and stretched. Leaving his quarters, he turned left and headed to the nearest turbolift. When its doors parted, he entered and instructed it to take him to transporter room one. The pod travelled through the network of tubes which made up the ships turbolift system, and slowly ground to a halt as it arrived at its destination. Upon exiting the 'lift, Mc7 entered the ships primary transporter room just as the beam began to materialise five figures on the pad. Jackson turned her head, to see who had entered the room, to be met with a nod from the Admiral. He could see instantly that she wasn't impressed by his somewhat late arrival, but refrained from saying so. Rank doth have its privileges, Mc7 joked with himself.
Jackson introduced herself to the Founders, along with the the other two El Salvador Officers. Stepping forward, Mc7 extended his hand to the changeling at the front of the group, "I am Vice Admiral Mc7_of_9, mission specialist from Starfleet Command. I am here to assist Commodore Savot, and yourselves to ensure this mission has the most successful outcome possible. I will leave you in Commander Jacksons care, and will see you all at the reception I am holding to welcome you aboard this evening." With that, the Admiral turned and left the ships newest inhabitants in the hands of its XO.

S'reena felt more than useless, since she couldn't see what was going on. Once more, frustration hit and she rose abruptly to her feet when K'ratak came in and offered his assistance. "Fine," she snapped, "you help him. I've gone over the specifications time and again, and it SHOULD work for Armus, but somehow our trials end up with him dying every time. In theory, it works....what are we missing?"
She paced the room, already regretting her snap, but too proud to apologise for it. Then they were called to the transporter room. "What for now," she pondered as she followed Fire towards the transporter room. She had already briefed Ian Forbes on his assignment, and he was eager to perform his tasks.
The Romulan science chief listened, as Fire voiced a report. "We have prepared the shuttle bay for transporting Armus, he will be placed behind force fields. There will be several checkpoints put into place throughout that portion of the ship including around the bridge itself." He handed one of them the PADD, "Here are the finer details of the security that will be in place during transportation."
"I take it then, that we're not using the box idea..." S'reena cut in, a little surprised and more than a little stung. Through Auric, she was aware of the Founger that was now present on the El-Salvador and she couldn't help but feel a little...anxious about it.
“Extend our guests every courtesy.. we will reach Armus in one hour, we will need arrangements finalized by then.”
"Yes ma'am," S'reena answered dutyfully, "will there be more guests coming aboard? Will they, perhaps, be able to assist us in finalising arrangements?" She hesitated, turning her head to where she thought Stacey was now. "After all, they know best what is needed to contain a shapeshifter..." No offense was intended, but her words did come out harsher than intended.

"I take it then, that we're not using the box idea..." S'reena cut in, a little surprised and more than a little stung. Through Auric, she was aware of the Founger that was now present on the El-Salvador and she couldn't help but feel a little...anxious about it.
James turned and looked seeing the expression on her face, "In a matter of speaking Commander we still are, we are containing him in a rather large box." He replied calmly and trying to calm her as well.
"How do you consider the hanger bay a large box?"
James looked towards the founder and nodded, "I figured that question would come up. And, this should help clear the air if it were. I believe that if we placed Armus in a real box he may feel trapped and lash out. The hanger bay will be surrounded by force fields and the control room will be sealed off and the panels be transferred to the main bridge. A box cuts its contained items off from the rest of the area. This method is no different, and -" His commbadge chirped cutting him off for the seventh time today.
"Lieutenant James Fire this is Lieutenant Tyler Knox remember that power grid fluxuation from earlier. It's back and a lot worse sir."
James sighed angerly, "Commander I'm sorry but it seems I am needed elsewhere." He patted her on the back softly shortly before whispering in her ear, "I apologize for hurting your feelings a few seconds ago I've been under more stress then I'm used to."
<tag Hope if any reply>
Afterwards he began to shuffle his way towards main engineering tapping his commbadge as he went, "Lieutenant Fire to Commander Jackson, it seems our little power grid failure from after the party has returned and is worse. I'm going to have to take down power to that entire deck it shouldn't take anymore then a half hour to repair. James out."
<tag Jackson if any reply>
James stepped inside main engineering to grab his gear, "Lieutenant Knox Petty Officer Lucas your with me grabe your gear please." He said and watched as both of them grabbed equipment and followed him shortly before he left he looked towards an ensign and would speak one last time, "Ensign Travis secure power to that deck and seal off the holodeck."
=^=Outside Holodeck One=^=
James and his small team walked towards the panel in near darkness and would remove it from the bulkhead. He took out his tricorder and began the scans, "Go figure had he not said anything another few moments and this gel pack would have been fried like the previous one."
Petty Officer Lucas smiled, "Yes sir, here let me get that for you."
James shook his head, "Nope just hold the battle lantern right there so that I can see." He said as he started to disconnect the conduits from the bulkhead. When suddenly this long blast of electrical discharge fled from the bulkhead and struck him in the center of the chest causing him to fly backwards. Before his body could touch the deckplating it vanished...
Lieutenant Knox watched in horror as his senior officer was standing there joking one second and in a blink of an eye seemed to completely vanish. "LIEUTENANT!" He shouted though it did no good. The lights came back on and his tricorder began to read normal for some strange reason. He slapped his commbadge so hard he'd bruised his chest, "Lieutenant Knox to sickbay we have a medical..."
Petty Officer Lucas stood there in pure terror listening to what the officer next to him was shouting as he ran forward. Nothing was there other then a burn mark along the bulkhead, but no residue traces. He ran his tricorder over the area no biological remains were picked up. One second he was there and the next he was gone. He grabbed hold of Lieutenant Knox's arm, "Sir, he's gone...medical can't do anything..."
Lieutenant Knox shook his head, and tapped his commbadge, "Lieutenant Knox to Commander Jackson something just happened...Lieutenant James Fire he just..." He paused for a moment trying to find the words, "An electrical discharge struck him in the center of the chest, before he could hit the ground he vanished without a trace...Our tricorders can't pick up anything...He left no trace, its as if he never existed...But, he was just here a minute ago."
<tag Jackson>
(So long guys I may post a couple more times with my NPC's but I'm pretty much finished with roleplaying hence why I killed off my character. Good luck in your future! And, a little side note and reasoning behind lack of a body is because the character is to be presumed dead just in case I ever decide to come back.)

"Lieutenant Fire to Commander Jackson, it seems our little power grid failure from after the party has returned and is worse. I'm going to have to take down power to that entire deck it shouldn't take anymore then a half hour to repair. James out."
Her eyes closed in annoyance and she shook her head. Tapping her comm. Badge she said. “I need it fixed within the hour lieutenant… Jackson out.”
She walked to the Captains chair and took a seat falling into the chair harder than she had intended. What she hadn’t realised about the promotion to First Officer was the longer hours than that of a Counsellor. And she dreaded what all the stress was doing to the rate her hair was going from grey to white. Which in her opinion was an alarmingly fast rate to begin with.
She sighed and closed her eyes, somewhat meditating as the busy work of the bridge went on around her. She had managed to get somewhat relaxed when the comm. Came to life again.
"Lieutenant Knox to Commander Jackson something just happened...Lieutenant James Fire he just..." He paused for a moment trying to find the words, "An electrical discharge struck him in the center of the chest, before he could hit the ground he vanished without a trace...Our tricorders can't pick up anything...He left no trace, its as if he never existed...But, he was just here a minute ago."
Her eyes opened in a flash, her heart rate accelerated and the past minutes of calming down became meaningless. She hit the side of the chair to open the comm. Channel harder than she had intended but luckily not hard enough to do damage.
“Mr Knox.. Stay where you are.. don’t touch anything.. I will be down in a moment.”
Closing that Channel and opening another one. “Jackson to Hope meet me on deck ten.. right now!”
Almost jumping out of the chair, she sped to the turbolift.. praying that Knox was wrong somehow and it was all a mistake.. but something in her stomach told her otherwise.
** Deck Ten**
She ran up to Mr. Knox and asked anxiously.. “Tell me exactly what happened.. What was it James was doing?”
<Tag Fire.. if no reply will assume conversation happened>
She heard footsteps behind her and she whipped her head around to see Hope walk up behind her. “S’reena.. James Fire was hit by an electrical eruption of some sort Mr. Knox here says James vanished.. our tricorders can’t pick anything up.. not a trace of remains.. Is it possible he may be alive somewhere.. I don’t know in a subspace bubble? Cloaked.. Anything?”
She was desperately trying to come up with ideas anything to avoid what she knew would be the case.. That James Fire was dead.
<Tag Hope>
“Well get your best people to work with Engineering.. I want this entire ship scanned with the most intensive scans we have.. within safety regulations of course.”
She turned to Knox and said “You get yourself down to sickbay and get checked out.. no arguments.”
<Tag Fire>
when he left and only S’reena and Stacey were left alone. Stacey let down her rather flimsy façade of strength and confidence and said sadly and defeated. “He wasn’t much older than my son.. Too Damn young .. Sometimes I hate this life of ours… I need to go inform the Captain.. he left instructions not to be disturbed.. but I think he will want to be disturbed for this.”
She placed a hand on S’reena’s shoulder and patted slightly as she walked past Hope.
** Ten minutes later**
Standing outside of Savots quarters she pressed the console.. the door oponed and she stepped in to a rather darkly lit room.. he was probably meditating she thought.. when her eyes adjusted and she spotted him she said.
“Captain I have bad news.. Lieutenant Fire was involved in an accident.. while investigating power disruptions he was git with and electrical discharge.. while we haven’t located any remains.. due to their vanishing.. we are fairly sure he didn’t survive.. I have Hope and engineering looking for him.. but I am told not to get my hopes up.”
<Tag Savot.. Will backpost response after he returns from loa>
**After any discussion with Savot**
she left his quarters still feeling upset and stressed out, she walked slowly towards her old office.. that of the Chief Counsellor.. She didn’t know if Chenzira or Barrs would be on duty but either would do.
Stepping inside the office she saw Chenzira sitting behind a desk, she cleared her throat and said.
“Counsellor, Your services are needed in Engineering.. our chief Engineer is believed dead… Do what ever you need to.”
She turned to leave the office but stopped short of exiting, something about being in her old office made her feel at ease.

He was less the happey about running a drill even more so now that tht founders were on board. Still orders were orders so he cleared Deck 8 and assembled his team. Quickly he layed down the out line of there object 45 minutes to clear the deck. He programed the computer for 12 random oppents ones who would be a challenge. He didn't want anything being said that he was make it easy.
When he got word of Mr. Fire being killed he held up for a minute to inform the team. " Mr. Fire is gone I dont' know if any of you knew him. He was a fine officer and I think its only fitting that we try and break the record and clear this ship in less then 20 minutes for Mr. Fire"
" Gunney I want sweep teams by two head to critical area's first and then sweep out. I'll take the coperal with me and we will work towards you. Remember we have 45 minutes I want it done in less. We have some vistors on board who are still trying to earn our trust. Until they do there are 12 less marines able to respond in case something goese Hinky."
His team laughed at his remark which was good he was trying to put them at easy and release some tention. He activated the program and everybody moved out he kept a live feed going to send to commander Jackson. Figure let her watch it then read his report he was still steaming over there meeting and this drill. He valued trained everybody was more then qualified he just couldn't get past this was some private thing about his comments.

(Not going to kill James, but I am going to keep it where he is presumed dead. This is so I can decide down the road if I ever want to come back to the site. Though while my character is presumed dead I want him placed in that status thanks in advance. And, no this isn't my last post I plan on posting for possibly the remainder of the mission with my npc's.)
=^=Unknown Place=^=
James fell backwards, but he never touched the deckplate everything around him went black as his eyes shuttered and his vision blurred for a moment. It seemed like he had been falling for months even years before finally he felt a soft substance underneath his body. And, his body finished its descent not on the deckplating of the El'Salvador, but instead of some other place not of the same galaxy, or possibly same universal plane of existence. It would be a few moments before he would open his eyes blinking at first, but soon his eyes adjusted to a rather large cushioned room that was completely white. His eyes slowly fell upon where his uniform shirt had been replaced by a completely white overshirt and white pants. His chest was throbbing from where he was hit by the electrical discharge, and at first he thought he was truly dead, but then again should he even be breathing. And, all the stories he'd ever heard were about how there was a lack of pain in death. Perhaps a dream, he would close his eyes, "Computer what time is it?"
But, there was no response, and that left him wondering if he was even on the ship any longer. Slowly he stood up to his feet, which took a great deal of effort because of the pain in his chest. James looked around to see a lifeform materialize right in front of his face, which he had contorted by now in a look of complete confusion. "Ah hell." He said under his breath, and that also took a great deal of effort, because the air was different here, almost thinner then what he was used to. He looked around wanting to see something other then white, and even this lifeform in front of him was completly dressed in white. It had auburn colored skin with these great bulbous eyes that were completely jet black. It's form swathed in white silky looking clothing, and it had an extremely long neck with lanky looking limbs to go along with its neck. He crossed his arms feeling how tender the central point of his chest was, and perhaps already beginning the process of bruising. "Are we even in the milky way galaxy anymore?" He wheezed questioningly.
The creature looked down upon James with a slight smirk, if that was what it could even be called, before its featureless lips would part and it would form words that James assumed were intentionally spoken in Federation Standard, James Patrick Fire, my name is Omni I am an Akarian. No you are no longer in your milky way galaxy, much less the same universe in which we plucked you from. We have spent a millenia searching for a way to travel between our two universes, and we now believe we have found it.
James was shocked, "You mean I was some sort of...experiment?" He hacked a little bit, "Okay test complete it seemed to have worked send me back now please I have -"
The creature raised its hand in the air, I'm afraid its just not that simple James, you see we have you in our universe now. We do not have a way to get you back. At least not yet, and there is so much for you to do here anyway.
James looked at the creature once more half startled, and confused all the same, "What do you mean you cannot send me back? This is...this is outragous." He said sharply and turned crossing his arms tighter causing a great deal more pain then he had anticipated before the action.
Omni gently placed a spiny hand on James' shoulder, You see Mister Fire, there is no reason to get angry, you've been injured and possibly a little endangered in your trip here. Besides your not the first one that we successfully transmitted from one place to another. There is another, perhaps you know him I believe his name is Marcus Scott Reilly?
James spun around so quickly that the hand fell useless from his shoulder and he felt a little dizzy and light headed from the move. "Marcus? Marcus is here? You...that's why there was no body you...YOU SCUMBAG!" He yelled so loudly that the walls echoed and he stormed from one end of the room to the other. "YOU WILL SEND US BACK NOW!"
Omni looked at the humanoid feeling slightly stung, James do not dwell on your anger. You must listen to me, you have been brought here, both of you for your knowledge in intersteller propulsion we need you to work together to solve a crisis.
James stared longingly at the wall, "You mean to tell me you transmitted my best friend and then myself from one universal plane into another just to solve one of your problems. You're a species that has discovered how to travel from universe to universe and you cannot solve your own crisis?"
James I'm afraid its not that simple. Perhaps whilst we discover the cause behind this crisis we will discover a way to get you and your friend back to your own universe.
James closed his eyes tightly for a moment, "I will do whatever you ask me, but what about my friends on the El'Salvador. There must be a way to contact them...to let them know I am alive and well?"
Omni relaxed a little bit feeling that the humanoid had calmed himself, I'm sorry that is not possible and even if it were I could not allow you to do that.
James turned back around and looked at the being called Omni, "And why could you not allow that?" He said a slight sharpness in his voice.
As I explained Mister Fire it is most complicated.
James approached slowly before coming to a stop just five meters from the creature, "Where do we start?"
Follow me James, we shall go retrieve Marcus then we shall begin our work.
=^=El'Salvador and normal space=^=
Lieutenant Junior Grade Tyler Knox stood next to Petty Officer First Class Lucas Brady they had scanned the area several times all that remained was a scar in the bulkhead from the electrical discharge. There weren't any biological signs that James had ever been there. Lieutenant Knox looked at the Petty Officer and spoke, "This seems familiar to me?"
Luke nodded, "Yes sir, remember how James said his friend died. The body never was found, and in fact they assumed he was dead because the electrical discharge was the exact same amount of voltage. There is no way our engineering chief could have possibly survived it."
“Tell me exactly what happened.. What was it James was doing?”
Lieutenant Knox turned and looked at her, "We did everything to procedure removed the panel and he took out the conduit. I offered to place the new one in there, but he insisted he do it. But, thats how Lieutenant Fire was, he liked to get his hands dirty. Before we knew it a long electrical discharge escaped the bulkhead and struck him central chest. He was tossed backwards and never hit the deck, but ma'am there is no way anybody could have survived that kind of electrical voltage. His friend Marcus Rielly met a similar fate ma'am, and just like this case there was no body."
She turned to Knox and said “You get yourself down to sickbay and get checked out.. no arguments.”
Lieutenant Knox nodded, "Yes ma'am." And, with that he would vanish towards the turbolift and to medical.
=^=Main Engineering=^=
Ensign O'Hare recieved the bad news, but he would look past it, there was no way that James could be dead they didn't have a body. But, in this job that meant nothing at all anyway just something to give himself false hope. He began sweeping the ship for any sign of James, however he could not find any. Then he brought up the file on Marcus Rielly as ordered by Lieutenant Knox, and just like they assumed Marcus was killed in very much the same exact way nearly four months ago. It was simply a matter that both died the same way and their bodies were gone, and he didn't believe that things like this could happen without reason. He tapped his commbadge, "Ensign O'Hare to Commander Jackson and Commodore Savot. There is no sign of James Fire anywhere on the ship he suffered from 500 volts according to our tricorder readings. Unless this is inacurate, he could not have survived it body or not."

OFF: JP between S'reena Hope as Taita Chenzira, and Stacey Jackson
OLD: Stepping inside the office she saw Chenzira sitting behind a desk, she cleared her throat and said.
“Counsellor, Your services are needed in Engineering.. our chief Engineer is believed dead… Do what ever you need to.”
She turned to leave the office but stopped short of exiting, something about being in her old office made her feel at ease.
NEW:
Lieutenant Commander Taita Chenzira looked up from the notes he'd taken on a previous counseling session. “The chief engineer died?” he queried, a stunned expression on his face. The death of a fellow officer was always a bad blow to a ship's morale, regardless of whether that person was well known to everyone, or not. Personally, Taita hadn't known Fire that well, but still, it came as a shock. “I'll go down there in a minute.”
The Egyptian counselor watched the first officer leave, then hesitate in the doorway. “Why don't you come in and have a seat commander,” he asked pleasantly, “engineering won't go anywhere in the next few minutes. How do you feel, having learned of the engineer's presumed death?”
She let out a breath as she slowly turned around to face Chenzira, she obliged him and sat down in front of the desk, her old desk a peculiar sensation to be on the other side of it.
“He was a good officer, too young to die.. not much older than my son really.. such a senseless death.. it is never easy to accept... I have seen a lot of death people my age always have.. never gets any easier and if it does you shouldn’t be wearing a uniform.”
“Any death is senseless,” Taita countered, “there are no sensible deaths, save those of old age. And in my experience, and that isn't a whole lot, given that I've had a research job before my assignment here, death is always tough to deal with ma'am. I mean...my wife died, and I still find it difficult to even talk about how she died. Her death too, was senseless. But I have a loving daughter to remember her by. How well did you know Mr Fire?”
She raised her eyebrow. “By senseless I mean it served no purpose.. Those who die in war can be said to have died for a cause.. those who die saving another died for a reason.. but this to die fixing a power grid failure.. that isn’t much for his family to look upon as a reason.”
She leaned back in her chair letting out a small breath she said. “I only knew him a little bit.. He flew me back to Earth in my time of need, and was of comfort but I didn’t know him beyond that really.”
“If he was of comfort to you, then I suppose you knew him well enough to let him in on your private affairs. And...for his family, he still died in the line of duty. If he hadn't seen that failure, would it not be possible that in the end, it would've cost us all our lives?” Taita reached out, albeit somewhat reluctantly, covering her hand with his. “I know I'm not the best of counselors around, and I by far lack the experience you have. But know that if you do want to talk about it, I'm here for you.”
Taita rose to his feet, picking up a PADD, checking the contents before changing it to one clear of data. “I'll report to the bridge, once I've seen to the engineers,” he promised, “I have no doubt the commodore as well as the visiting admiral will have need of a report.” At the mention of the admiral, he shuddered. If there was anything he loathed besides Vulcans, it was Borg. Borg just couldn't be trusted; in his opinion, they'd always have the danger of being recalled somehow into the collective, no matter what their own vision was.
He touched her hand and she fought back the urge to recoil. “Thank you Counsellor… Experience isn’t everything seventy five percent of counselling is instinct the rest is training and experience.”
She nodded at the mention of reports and although she sensed the loathing he had when he mentioned Savot and Mc 7 she mentioned nothing about them.. as long as he did his job he could feel anyway he thought about people.
She stood up and cleared her throat. “While I am here Counsellor.. I have made a decision about the immediate future of this department.. as you know with my promotion to First Officer we are without an assigned Chief Counsellor, that needs fixing.”
She took a breath and continued. “Now I have decided to take the unusual step of assigning both you and Barrs as Co-Chief Counsellors.. until a new one is permanently assigned… Decisions regarding this department will need to be arranged between the two of you.”
She took a step back from the chair. “Now I know you outrank her quite a bit.. however You haven’t had as much time as a Counsellor as her.. and she isn’t ready for the job on her own.. this is not an insult on both of you just what I think is best for the ship.”
Taita clenched his teeth together, eyes hardening a little at the mention of that irritating and obnoxious woman. “As you wish ma'am,” he replied stiffly, “I'll arrange a meeting with her once my task in engineering is done and I've reported to Commodore Savot and Admiral MC7of9. Is that acceptable ma'am?”
She ignored his clear annoyance, as First Officer and not Counsellor that was one of the perks. “Yes but please make sure I get a copy of the report.. and please start with Mr. Knox.. he witnessed the accident.. you should find him in sickbay.”
She was about to leave when she decided to address his annoyance. “I know Simone Barrs can be a pain.. I never could stand her either.. but she knows what she is doing.. make it work Commander.. As you can imagine I have a vested interest in this department.” Her tone was understanding, and as non confrontational as she could possibly make it she had seen first hand that he had a temper on him.
Offering a half bow, Taita managed to hide his sheer annoyance, especially since he hadn't voiced it. How the hell had she known? His brows furrowed as his eyes sparkled. Telepath. Yes, that must be it, she was a telepath. Of course! The dark eyes were a tell-tale sign, why hadn't he seen it before? “We'll make it work,” he acknowledged her order, albeit stiffly. “I'll be in sickbay then. Good day commander.” Taita brushed past her and headed for sickbay.
Quietly, he walked in, finding the science chief's husband on duty in he absence of a chief medical officer. “I'm looking for a Mr Knox,” he enquired politely, noting the doctor was indeed Human. “Where may I find him?”
Michael took note of the new counselor. “And you are?” he enquired, while scanning the room for the indicated officer.
“Lieutenant Commander Taita Chenzira, assigned counselor. Please doctor, I don't have all day.”
Michael frowned, but nodded towards Knox. “Be patient with him, he's just seen his chief be vapourised.”
Taita nodded in response then approached the engineer. “Mr Knox? My name is Taita, I'm assigned as counselor. I'm hoping you would like to talk to me about what you've just experienced.”

Savot had read all the reports regarding the Armus entity and none of them indicated that he could mentally influence another being's mind, but to be on the safe side he left Jackson in command during the final approach to the Zed Lapis sector and returned to the sanctity of his quarters to engage in intense meditations to tightly focus his mental discipline. The lights were dimmed, not really to enhance his concentration but more practically because they really wouldn't be necessary anyway while he had his eyes closed.
For a time, his own pulse and the soft shifting of water caused by Alfred's fishtank explorations were the only sounds of which the vulcan was aware. However, a time later his door chimed and he granted entry to a somber looking Commander Jackson. Having risen immediately from his cross-legged position on the floor of his quarters, Savot moved two paces toward her and tilted his head in inquiry.
Savot's brow furrowed in concern and the news, and then his eyes closed briefly in a moment's mourning for the apparent loss of a young and capable officer. Instantly re-donning his uniform jacket he nodded to Stacey, "You seem to have initiated every avenue of investigation Commander, though thank you for informing me. I'm on my way to the bridge via Main Engineering; you are free to go off-duty until we make our final approach to Vagra II should you so desire."
He was uncertain as to how profoundly the death of Mr. Fire had hit Commander, so he left it up to her whether to take a moment's respite or not. As the doors to his quarters sealed shut once again, though now with both the Captain and First Officer on the outside, Savot turned to Jackson, "We'll hold services for the Lieutenant after the mission should our investigations fail to refute our initial assessment; but for the present we must maintain our focus to avoid other losses." The vulcan quickly snuffed out the internal voice in his mind that compared the number of crew deaths under his command to those during the captaincy of Deis Irae, and made his way to Engineering.
***************************************
En route, Savot received the dual-message sent to both himself and Jackson from Engineering, =^=Ensign O'Hare to Commander Jackson and Commodore Savot. There is no sign of James Fire anywhere on the ship he suffered from 500 volts according to our tricorder readings. Unless this is inacurate, he could not have survived it body or not.=^= Savot would have verbally acknowledged the message, but at that point he was getting off the turbolift into Engineering anyway so there was little point.
Engineering was remarkably efficient under the circumstances; a tribute to the respect and dedication Fire had engendered in his team during his too-brief stint as Chief Engineer. The vulcan commander was quickly recognized; however, and the duty officer currently present attended him. Savot nodded politely to the Ensign, "Your report was received Mr. O'Hare. Inform Mr. Knox upon his return from sickbay that he shall bear the duties of Chief Engineer for the duration of our current assignment. Continue final preparations for the primary hull's containment of Armus and once completed review our sensor logs of the transport from which the 5 Changelings boarded the El Salvador. Though improbable, I wish to eliminate them as a potential explanation for Mr. Fire's incident."
Savot was aware that the burden of both responsibility and having to replace his superior could put undue strain on Mr. Knox, but Savot also remembered how his own duties to the ship and crew had helped him focus through Captain Irae's first dramatic departure from the ship. It was his hope that Mr. Knox's added responsibilities would help him chart a course through whatever grief he might be experiencing.
********************************************
Now, back in the bridge's center seat, Savot watched as the viewscreen began to fill with the visage of Vagra II. For the moment, the El Salvador remained whole, the separation would take place once they determined whether or not Armus would agree to accompany them. If he decided to throw a tantrum and refuse, pre-emptive MVAM would merely be a waste of resources.
"Engage highest possible orbit, begin scanning for Armus' bioenergy signature or the fragments from the Enterprise D's torpedoed shuttle", Savot doled out instructions to the various stations, figuring that the last spot the Enterprise had seen Armus was as good a place as any to start looking for him.

His team had been on the move for the last 8 minutes already they had half the enemy detained. He had made a point of making sure the team took them alive as much as possible to prove a point.
Turning to face his gunney he had found to face thomas his partener he motioned for him there were 3 of the enemy around the corner '' Thomas to a covering postion while he approached them from behind one swift montion to the back of the head he had nocked one out and Thomas had stunned the other one. Leave only one left he smiled a little and attacked less then 15 secounds he had taken the last one. He started to get reports from the other teams they had secured the deck all enemy had been accounted for.
'' Gunney do another sweep just in case then secure the deck" 2 minutes later the deck sweep was completed and secure looking at ship time it had taken 14 minutes and 59 secounds a new record smiling he dismissed his marines and ended the program and sent a report to Commander jackson
He checked there status and learned they had arrived he also checked the status of there guest and learned they were being well behaved with that being said he headed to find Commander Hope to see if she had any gagets or other info for him.
He found her she didn't look like she was in a good mood so he kept his jokes to himself. He long since learned not to anger the commander when she was in this mood " Commander sorry to unterupt but I was just checking to see if you had any more adive or tooks to help us with this mission. I know he have the phaser rifles but I would like to have a back up in case they dont work or some type of warning. If not I'll deal with it the best I can but you know me I always like an ace up my sleeve when ever possible" <Tag Hope>
