My name is Fleet Admiral Carl Torek, I am the site Executive Officer, Ranks Officer, and Commanding Officer of the USS Raven-C ..
Our Personnel Officer will contact you soon with your assignment. I see you are looking for an Engineering position and I'm sure we can accommodate you on that, and I have modified your ranking to suit your preferred position.
Welcome to Section 47 and I look forward to working along side you in future endeavours. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact myself or the Personnel Officer, Section Admiral Gheskori, via PM, email, or on this board.
My name is Fleet Admiral Carl Torek, I am Site Executive Officer and Ranks Officer.
Thank you for getting back to us regarding your preferred position of Chief Medical Officer ...
Our Personnel Officer will assign you as soon as he reads this, but in the mean time you could go on the assumption that you were on the Starbase at the time of the disaster and were waiting to be assigned to a ship. That way you're already here and haven't just popped up out of the blue, so to speak.
Feel free to post on the current mission thread:
Disaster and .... Beyond ....
Maybe you could be helping out with injured, or helping with repairs on one of the damaged Starships, it's entirely up to you
If you have any questions then please feel free to contact me via PM, email, on on this thread.
Welcome to Section 47. I'm Fleet Admiral Carl Torek, I'm the site Executive Officer and Ranks Officer.
You will indeed start at the rank of Ensign, Our Personnel Officer will contact you regarding assignment but if you have a particular preference, for example Operations, Engineering, Science, Tactical etc, then feel free to reply here.
In the mean time please feel free to read up on our current ongoing thread by following the link below:
Welcome back to Section 47! I see you've written that you would prefer Conn Officer or Chief Engineer - do you have a first choice of those two options and would you prefer Original Series era or Next Gen era simming?
I look forward to hearing from you and welcome again,

I was the helm officer on the Hanson i think that was just an academy ship...and the Jefferson...and the Vesuvius-B And one more I think. I duno for sure but I think I would like to take a stab at engineering this time. I work in the oilfield now so keeping an available internet connection wont be too hard but i may be unavailable sometimes because of my schedule but i get two weeks off at a time after working 28 days strait. Is Crystal Shinsei still around? I would prefer TNG but I'm fine with TOS if your shorter on people.
It's always great to see returning members. Personally, apart from my Academy mission I've only ever served on the Raven, started as a Lieutenant at Operations and well, the rest as they say .... lol.
Crystal is no longer around alas.
As for assignment, I'm sure our Personel Officer will be getting a position sorted very soon as we'd obviously like you writing again. There should be openings in TNG I think, there are openings on Excalibur but there would be nothing stopping you setting up a second character in the future should you wish to write both era's. Again the PO can help you with that.
If you have any queries please don't hesitate to give a shout.
Yikes ! ... Mention of the Academy had me looking back at my ACTC Mission lol.

I would be interested to know if there are there records of historical training missions, such as those undertaken by the USS Hanson in and around 2006-7? My memory of the events of that time is somewhat limited, and my own records are lacking in any significant detail.

That is what I was looking for. This post states it is listed in the 'Archive Centre', which is not listed on my boards homepage under 'S47 Archives'. Is it something I should be able to see, or is it restricted?

As Site Executive Officer, it is part of my role to look after the boards ... I've checked access for all the boards and all appear to be visible for S47 members.
If you can see 'S47 Archives' you should be able to access all the boards / threads within that section. If there is something specific you are looking for but still can't access it please 'PM' me and I will make sure the relevant access is set for you and everyone else.
Please note that all the sections on the main board: Information Center, Fleet Operations, TOS Simming, Command Center, and the S47 Archive are collapsible, if you can't see anything try clicking on the subject bar to expand it.
It's good to see members wanting to look back at past threads and I want to make sure all of those are available.
Savot: A most excellent and momentous hallmark to reach! It's been my honor and privilege; thanks to everyone who's made this place such an integral part of my life for over a decade. I'm sincerely grateful.
