Carl entered Ten forward. Looking round the room he noticed it was almost empty. He walked over to a window table where he could watch the scene outside as the service shuttle's silently went about their assigned tasks.
A steward arrived at his table and clearing his throat, smiled down at Carl.
"Hello. What can I get you ?"
"Could you possibly do me a plain omelet .. And bring me a Saurian brandy too ?" he requested.
"No problem, shouldn't take too long, I'll be right back." the steward said as he walked away.
Torek sat quietly waiting for his order. Another Officer, one of the only other occupants of Ten forward, got up from a nearby table and nodded as she left.
Carl's order arrived and after thanking the steward, took a small sip of his drink. He unfolded his napkin then picked up his fork and tried a piece of the omelet .. 'They will never get replicated eggs to taste like eggs' he thought with a smile, then realizing just how hungry he actually was, tucked into his food ..........

Steve left his quarters as soon as he had finished up with his work. His destination?.....Arya's quarters on the Starbase. He took a brief stroll around the Starbase, so he didnt look too keen to see her.
Afer about 15 minutes, he finally arrived at her quarters and pressed the chime.....hoping she would be happy to see him!

Arya looked around, and found she was in a nice meadow with woods not far away. She wondered what was going on, and then found an arrow just barely missed her. She ran into the woods, not looking back to see if the person shooting at her was following.
Arya had been walking for hours now, and she seemed to be lost. She wondered how she got from the base to this place. The last thing she remembered was being on the couch in her temporary quarters waiting for Steven to arrive.
Arya didn't like this one bit, and stopped as it was getting dark. She had hoped she would have figured this out by now, but for some reason it stumped her. She remembered being tired, but that was it.
Suddenly Arya heard a strange sound for the woods as she sat down on a nearby stump. It sounded like a chime, like one of the chimes used for asking to enter quarters, but she wasn't sure where it was coming from. She felt like this was a bad dream, and she wanted to wake up. Arya wasn't sure how though.

Zoarial was surprised when E'Liana entered his quarters with a two-year-old trailing her. He was positively sure that he had again stashed his relic safely under the pillow fast enough, but still he was a bit annoyed by E'Liana not knocking this time.
"Are you so excited to tell me about your daughter that you forgot to knock?" Zoarial asked bluntly, not knowing why he was looking for trouble.
<<E'Liana>>
Her answer didn't at all help in getting Zoarial in a better mood, but he realised that there was a small child now tugging E'Liana's arm and he didn't want to be the one to teach the child the first word of course language.
"Welcome to my quarters little one." Zoarial said, glad that he could speak Klingon to somebody else but the CNO, but the latter gave him an disapproving look and he switched back to common. "What is your name?"
<<E'Liana>>
"Well if she isn't your daughter then," Zoarial started while turning back to E'Liana. "On what occasion did you bring her here?"
<<E'Liana>>
E'Liana began to talk slightly annoyed, but before another fight would errupt, Zoarial interrupted her. "The Raven I mean, I am fully aware why you brought her to my quarters."
Zoarial couldn't really make up out of E'Liana's face what she was thinking, so he hoped that she didn't mind his little correction.

OOC: This post is after Nathan's post and whatever might come from it IC: Scene: BridgeMatt hated making Caleb wait, but as long as he was here it was best that he took care of a few things. He quickly found a computer console and downloaded the entire schedule of all officers and crewmen. He knew that he wouldn't be making many changes, but if a change was needed he would do it. After sending all the information to his computer in his quarters, Matt made his way towards Bellicose, but before he could exit the Lt. on duty stopped him again. "Commander, I was just informed that Doctor Betor has brought her cousin onboard," the Lt said," she will be staying on the Raven, if I read this correctly." "Ok, thanks for telling me," Matt said," Lt. does the message say how old she is?" "No, but the orders ask for children quarters," the Lt. responded. "Thanks," Matt said with a huge smile on his face. This was the chance that he had been waiting for. If Caleb found a Klingon child that would be his friend, it would really make it a lot easier on Caleb. "Computer locate Doctor Betor," Matt ordered as he entered the turbolift. "Doctor Betor is in Commander Zoarial's quarters," the computer responded. Matt knew that Commander Zoarial was Klingon and that Caleb might become more agitated, but he would take that chance. Plus he needed to meet Zoarial. "I'll go, but you owe me," Caleb said smirking which caused Matt just to laugh. <Tag E'Liana and Zoarial>

Majeski stood on the bridge of the Raven and looked around his eyes feel on his old first officers chair , he looked around at the crew none of the faces where familar, he caught the sight of a security officer and a marine sqabbling over the tatical station , his station of all things. Without a word he dropped his duffle bag and casually walked up to them and cleared his throat , when they didn't repsond he tapped the marine on the shoulder , but the marine made a fatal mistake he swung at chris , without thinking he nailed the marine with his forarm casuing the marine to go flying forward while he was in mid flight chris caught the marine by the ankles and dropped him on his head. The bridge fell silent , and the acting fo Matt Reynolds stood there gaping at him in shock. "Was that neciscary? " Reynolds blinked "He Shouldn't have swung" Majeski grinned "You must be the Ravens old XO I take it " Majeski nodded "Commander Majeski at your service"

Carl had eaten, and had sat for some time just looking through the large windows. He was at a loose end so before going back to his quarters he decided to go up to the bridge for his first visit ... Stepping into the turbo lift he gave his destination and waited while the car moved silently upwards.
He took a breath as the car halted and the doors opened. Then stepped onto the Raven's bridge.
The first thing Torek noticed was that something seemed to be going on near the tactical station. A marine was in the process of picking himself up off the floor, the other personnel present were silently, discreetly, watching the proceeding's.
A Commander, stood in front of the Captain's chair, was speaking, Carl recognized the First Officer from sickbay ...
" ...... that necessary ?"
"He shouldn't have swung !" said a man grinning.
"You must be the Ravens 'former' XO I take it."
The man nodded.
"Commander Majeski, at you're service." Reynold's didn't seem amused.
"Are you OK marine ?" the XO asked.
"Yes Sir .. Just fine Sir .." said the marine, throwing a side-long glare at his assailant.
Carl decided this would be a good time to make his presence known ... He cleared his throat.
"Commander."
"Ah, Carl isn't it .. You've come to have a look around before you officially begin duties ?"
"Yes Sir, Thought i'd just have a quick look, acquaint myself with the bridge." Torek said, wondering if this was a good idea after all.
"Good, good .. I may as well introduce you two, if 'you' have stopped knocking people over that is." he said, glancing at Majeski, who grinned yet again, "Ensign Torek, our new Chief of Operations .. Commander Majeski, Chief Tactical / Security Officer."
The two shook hands, saying hello.
It seemed to have gone a little quiet again ...
"I'm looking forward to working together." Carl said to the two Officers, before continuing, "If you will both excuse me, I'd like to have a look around before returning to my quarters ... "
Carl moved away, leaving the former, and current Executive Officer's looking at each other ..........

OOC: I had left the bridge, but no biggy, lol.
IC:
Matt was already done, but of course nothing was that easy. He saw a Commander walk onto the bridge, who he immediately recognized as Chris Majeski. Matt had made sure to read everything he could about him. His reputation had proceded him, but Matt hoped that he had tempered out a bit.
That of course was not the case as Matt saw a marine fly across the bridge. Matt couldn't help, but be impressed as the Commander grabbed the marine and attacked him once again. The only noise on the bridge came from the hum of the consoles.
"Was that neciscary?" Matt asked as he helped the marine up. He was almost sure that he would need to go to sickbay," Ensign please escort him to sickbay."
"He shouldn't have swung" Majeski grinned.
"You must be the Raven;s old XO I take it, " Matt said with a bit of a smirk.
Majeski nodded,"Commander Majeski at your service."
"Well Commander, please refrain from hurting my officers," Matt said," and if you would like to spar with someone just give me a call."
Matt's attention was diverted once again as the COO once again introduced himself.
"Commander."
"Torek, hi," Caleb said standing from Matt's chair.
"Ah, Carl, you've come to have a look around before you officially begin duties?" Matt asked glad that the Raven had a proactive operations officer.
"Good, good .. I may as well introduce you two, if 'you' have stopped knocking people over that is." he said, glancing at Majeski, who grinned yet again, "Ensign Torek, our new Chief of Operations .. Commander Majeski, Chief Tactical / Security Officer."
"Now Commander if you hit Ensign Torek here, I will have set up a fight pool," Matt said hoping that there would be no more incidents while they were on R&R.
"I'm looking forward to working together." Carl said to the two Officers, before continuing, "If you will both excuse me, I'd like to have a look around before returning to my quarters ... "
"Commander, I understand that your not on duty, but if you wish to stay the bridge is yours," Matt said as he headed out the bridge, looking for someone to talk to.

E’Liana managed to forget to knock in her excitement to introduce Grilka to Zoarial. Something which seemed to irritate an already unnecessarily-annoyed Zoarial.
"Are you so excited to tell me about your daughter that you forgot to knock?" Zoarial asked bluntly.
E’Liana’s eyebrows raised in surprise. ~Why is he being so hostile? And why the hell does he think she’s my daughter?~
“Daughter?! Dear god, no! My father would kill me! This is my cousin.” she gesticulated to the now very un-Klingon girl hiding behind her legs and clinging possessively to her arm. Nervously, E’Liana grinned at Zoarial but it was not returned. Instead he seemed to almost ignore her and looked Grilka right in the eye.
After speaking Klingon to her, he reverted back to English in response to the ironically-Klingon glare he received from the CMO. “What is your name?”
Rolling her eyes at her cousin’s apparent shyness, E’Liana casually moved away, leaving Grilka grabbing air. Startled into a response, she managed to answer the tall Klingon man. “Grilka.”
At the one-word response, E’Liana coughed discreetly and nodded her head emphatically towards Zoarial.
“I am two years old.” She said. “I like to read.” E’Liana suppressed a sigh. ~Language schools on Qo’noS are so clichéd…~
Zoarial smiled nervously at the young girl and nodded vaguely. Looking back at the elder female, he asked her rather bluntly: "Well if she isn't your daughter then, on what occasion did you bring her here?"
“Can’t you tell she’s learning Federation Standard? Or did you not notice the “I-am-two-years-old”? It took my Aunt about a week to get her to stop using the literal translation for “nuqneH” - ”
"The Raven I mean, I am fully aware why you brought her to my quarters."
“Oh” she said, suddenly aware of how strange it must seem. “Um…well. To meet you…because you’re…Klingon…” Her voice faded, her ridges flushing.
<TAG Zoarial>
After the moment of awkwardness had passed, the door beeped. She stood aside for Zoarial to greet his new guests.
<TAG Zoarial>
Peeking over his shoulder, and Grilka from behind his legs, they could see that it was Matt Reynolds and his son. Dread filled E’Liana as she realised that Caleb was now facing his worst nightmare and that her cousin could be in danger.

"Are you sure that you want to do this?" Matt asked Caleb. Caleb had always put up a brave face, but he was still an eight year old child. No matter how mature he acted, he still had fears. It was only natural.
"Yeah," Caleb responded. It was not the response that he wanted, but it would do. Matt inhaled a big breath of air and pressed the floor PADD. He didn't have to wait long for the door to be opened.
"Commander Zorial, I'm Matthew Reynolds," Matt said making sure to meet his eyes. Matt had spent enough time with Klingons to know that the one in front of him was not in a good mood.
<Tag Zoarial>
Matt couldn't help, but look in E'liana's direction. He was surprised to see the Klingon child hiding behind her. He had never heard of a shy Klingon, but then again the child was young.
"This must be your cousin," Matt said closing in on the two of them. Matt made sure to keep Caleb close to him at all times. He did not want him to experience a panic attack.

ooc: way backposting...apologies for the delay....will catch up
"Dr., I'm sorry to inform you that the Admiral has indeed been kidnapped," Matt said, "and unfortunately that is all that I know."
"It's true then," Nathan whispered, though barely audible as he sank into the nearest chair.
4-year old Freddy gazed from the boy trailing behind Matt, down to his two squirming kittens and then up at his apparently troubled father. "Daddy?" the boy enquired, his voice filled with concern. He'd never before seen his father this devastated, not even when he learned months ago that his sister's ship had crashed on a desolated planet.
"Thank you for your confirmation," Nathan suddenly spoke up. His voice was a mix of anger, despair and gratitude, but it was quite obvious that the anger was not directed at Matt. "With your permission I'd like to spend a few days aboard the Raven, until you have to go off on a mission again." He gave Matt a weak smile. "I promised my son to show him the ship."
At Matt's slight nod, Nathan composed himself again, took his son by the hand and led him off the bridge to show him around the ship as promised.
~~ somewhat later ~~
"This is the Ravens main engineering," Nathan explained, "notice how it's different than Auntie Sonak's engineering?"
Freddy nodded vigorously, while peering about for the chief engineer. "How fast can this ship go?" he asked, his voice echoing though engineering as he spoke excitedly.

Zoarial realised that E'Liana might feel a bit embrassed, and to stress that thought, a small blush appeared on her ridges. "Um…well. To meet you…because you’re…Klingon…"
"What are you telling me?" Zoarial said while raising his voice, "I'm Klingon? qaStaH nuq?" But he then realised that Grelka, who against all odds managed to hide even further behind E'Liana, wouldn't probably notice that he was making a little fun of E'Liana stating the obvious.
"There are enough Klingons in the federation E'Liana." Zoarial continued at a normal level. "But I see your point."
They were about to sit down and have a civilized conversation, when someone chimed. Zoarial was already standing very close to the door, but E'Liana retreated a bit further to the side of his quarters to make room for the new guest.
"Commander Zorial, I'm Matthew Reynolds," Matt said making eye contact.
"Commander." Zoarial nodded. "Although I would prefer you to pronounce my name correctly." He didn't know why, but lately he didn't get off on the right foot with new crewmembers.
"I'd expect a Klingon not to be able to correctly pronounce my given name, I had some difficulty with it myself too you know." Zoarial said, unwillingly going on about the subject.
"Would you and the little boy want something to drink?" Zoarial asked, trying to be a bit more polite. He felt that it was somehow not smart to adress the little boy himself and to his surprise Matt answered his question for both of them.
While Zoarial went to fetch the drinks, Matt turned to E'Liana. "This must be your cousin" he said, and Zoarial felt some kind of tension hanging in the air behind his back. When he turned with the two drinks in his hands he saw that there wasn't something unhealthy going on between Matt and E'Liana, but that he couldn't really place the awkward feeling. He offered one drink to Matt, and placed the other one on the cuboard next to the young boy.

( OOC: Just a small post to let you all know I'm still here. ) IC:Torek wondered round the bridge, looking first at one station's console then moving on to another. He noticed a technician sat at the Opps' station looking from a PADD he held then down at the readout's. Carl watched for a moment before speaking .. "Hello ... Problems ?" he asked. "Oh, hi, erm, no." said the young technician, "Just re-calibrating the boards readouts. Making sure everything is up to date .. You're an Opps' Officer yourself ?" he queried. "Yes." said Carl, "I'm the new Chief Operations Officer .. Carl Torek." "Ahh, right." replied the technician, choosing not, for reasons best known to himself, to state his own name .. "So what was all the fuss about over there ?" "I'm not sure if it's really any of you're concern." said Torek, frowning .. "Have you much more to do here ?" The technician reddened. "Half an hour, maybe less. Just got to run final diagnostics, if the boards green across then i'm done." he said. "OK, Thanks." replied Carl. But as he moved away, he couldn't fail to notice that the Security Officer had been silently observing their conversation. Carl walked over to him ... "Commander .. I've had a good look round. I think i'll head back to my quarters .. Unless you need me to remain here ?" "No, that's fine. You're not down on the duty roster at the moment if I remember correctly, you go ahead." Torek thanked him, but as he turned to leave the Commander spoke again .. "Ensign .. No issues with the Opps' station is there ?" Carl knew full well that Majeski was referring to his conversation with the technician .. "No Commander. Everything's checking out, he's just running final diagnostics." Majeski slowly glanced from Torek, to the technician, and back. "Very well. See you later." he said before turning to speak to someone close-by. Carl headed for the turbo lift, and his quarters ..........

OOC: Zoarial, didn't mean to put in the typo, IC: "Thank you Commander," Matt said as he took the drink that Zoarial had offered him." Commander I would like to apologize for mispronouncing your name. I pride myself in knowing the Klingon language and that will never happen again." Matt's apology must of sounded absurd to the Klingon, but he would do it anyways. Most Klingon's solved there problems by fighting, but Matt felt that he would have a very hard time defeating this particular Klingon. "Commander Zoarial, I understand that you have been onboard the Raven longer than anyone here," Matt said," what recommendations would you have for me." As Matt was speaking, Calen couldn't help, but look at his surroundings. He jeerred in delight as he saw playing cards on one of Zoarial's desk. "Matt look, he likes to play cards too," Caleb said finally smiling.

OOC: I know that it was a typo Matt but zoarial doesn't
IC: "Me being here longer than anyone didn't alter my taste commander." Zoarial said, "But ya might want to try some Chech'tluth, out of the drinks I can pour for humans it's my favorite"
He went to the replicator and ordered the beverage. Two metal goblets materialised and Zoarial handed one to Matt while smiling. He lifted his own goblet and downed it in one go as if it was plain water.
"Matt look, he likes to play cards too," Caleb said finally smiling.
"Ahh do you like playing cards as well young one?" Zoarial said delighted, his temper now back to normal. "What was your name again?"
<<Matt (Caleb that is ofc )>>
"Well hello mr Caleb" Zoarial said while offering his hand. "I am Zoarial. Pleased to meet you! Which games do you know with cards?"
<<Matt>>
"Some of them I know. Some of them I do not. Do you care to teach me one or two? I might be able to show you a little card game that you perhaps do not know yet." he offered, hoping that the boy would accept his invitation.
<<Matt>>
"Deal" Zoarial said and looked to E'Liana, with Grelka still hid behind her. Zoarial realised that now wouldn't be the time to 'steal' Caleb away, "Well there will probably be enough time later for us to play." he said, "I have to do some... urgent business... now."
He then cast a glance towards E'Liana to tell her that he postponed taking Caleb's time should she want the boy and Grelka getting to know eachother.

"Me being here longer than anyone didn't alter my taste commander." Zoarial said, "But ya might want to try some Chech'tluth, out of the drinks I can pour for humans it's my favorite"
"Well as luck my have it, Commander it is my favorite Klingon drink," Matt said," In fact I've spent some time living on Qo'noS."
"Matt look, he likes to play cards too," Caleb said finally smiling. Matt immediately turned to Caleb, who for the first time had said anything. All the tension that he had when he entered seemed to have disappeared.
"Ah do you like playing cards as well young one?" Zoarial said delighted, his temper now back to normal. "What was your name again?"
Caleb hesitated to answer, but he knew the only way he could ever play cards was if he responded to the Klingon's answers. "My name is Caleb Linden Reynolds and I love playing cards," Caleb responded.
"Well hello Mr. Caleb" Zoarial said while offering his hand. "I am Zoarial. Pleased to meet you! Which games do you know with cards?"
This time Caleb did not hesitate to answer Zoarial, in fact he quickly took his hand and shook it.
"Well I play kemps, five crowns, spoons, blackjack, poker, solitaire, speed, Egyptian ratscrew though I don't know where Egypt is, and bullshi....," Caleb said before Matt stopped him from saying the last card game he knew. Matt was sure that he knew more, but he was also considerate to everyone else.
"Some of them I know. Some of them I do not. Do you care to teach me one or two? I might be able to show you a little card game that you perhaps do not know yet." he offered, hoping that the boy would accept his invitation.
"Of course, I love playing games, so whenever you want," Caleb said now giggling.
"Deal" Zoarial said and looked to E'Liana, with Grelka still hid behind her. Zoarial realized that now wouldn't be the time to 'steal' Caleb away, "Well there will probably be enough time later for us to play." he said, "I have to do some... urgent business... now."
Matt was extremely happy to see Caleb at ease, if only he could of found another card playing Klingon. Matt then turned his attention to E'liana and her cousin. Hopefully Caleb would relax around all Klingons and hopefully make friends with a few of them.
