{Holodeck}
John heard the call for all senior staff to attend a meeting in the war room, a place on the ship John had never visited in all his time aboard, for the chief tac/sec was a little unusual, but then the ship had never seen any real combat, at least not while he had been a member of it's crew.
"I do apologize ensign, I must head off, you may stay if you wish, or alternatively you may take some time to relax, either way I will contact you once the meeting has finished to come up with a battle plan, should we be drawn into one." He spoke clearly, and in a composed manner, knowing that the young ensign before me, could get some what, over excitable.
{War room}
John began his journey to the war room, it didst take too long. Upon arrival, he was greeted by another young ensign: "Commander Roberts, I am Ensign Clarke I am the new CEO I was wondering if I may be of any assistance with the boarding parties?" She asked, but just as John was about to speak, he was interrupted by Commander Jackson; “Away team personell are chosen by team leaders.. in this case myself and Captain Savot… I have already chosen whom I will be taking as I am sure Savot has done the same.”
She smiled. “Your joining me Ensign.. if we don’t succeed in getting the frequency on the supply ships Captain Savot won’t be taking anybody anywhere.” She now looked to Garrett and gave a slight nod. “You too Commander, when the Captain gets here we will outline our objectives and all that business.”
<Tag Clarke and Garrett>
She looked to Commander Roberts and gave a nod. “Sorry to cut you off Commander.. did you have any luck on the holodeck?”
"At the moment, I have a few ideas, however, none of them 100% water tight, with each scenario, there are some rather large flaws, I'll be happy to discuss these with you afterwards if you'd wish too" He replied.
The real truth of the matter is, it wasn't that the scenarios weren't water tight, once aboard he knew the best route, it was just getting aboard that was the major problem, well, undetected any way.

Sarah turned to face Commander Jackson and listened to what she had to say. Ensign Clarke was not entirely certain what the entire plan was as she was absent and busy transferring aboard during the senior staff meeting. "I am certain that I can be of assistance in that area, but I'm not entirely certain what the entire plan is yet."

As Megan headed into the War Room, a voice from behind her said, "Commander," and since that was her rank, the Science Chief slowed and turned slightly to acknowledge the officer behind her, who given the lack of other people around, had to be addressing her.
The woman was in a yellow uniform and completely unfamiliar to Commander Garrett in spite of her thorough perusal of the El Salvador’s personnel files during the flight here, so all she could offer in return was a reciprocal acknowledgement of rank with, “Ensign.”
If she was in this meeting, she was most likely senior staff...or else a security officer that was assigned to visit the Outpost, but by process of elimination, if she wasn’t security, she had to be the Chief Engineer, since Valad was Ops and Roberts was Tactical/Security. It would probably be made clear at some point. As Megan selected a seat, facing the door so she could easily see people as they arrived, and stood behind it, Commander Roberts entered the War Room, and the Ensign moved to speak to him. "Commander Roberts, I am Ensign Clarke I am the new CEO I was wondering if I may be of any assistance with the boarding parties?" Clarke asked, answering Commander Garrett’s earlier questions.
“Away team personnel are chosen by team leaders…in this case, myself and Captain Savot,” Commander Jackson replied in lieu of the Tactical Chief as she entered. “I have already chosen whom I will be taking as I am sure Savot has done the same. You’re joining me, Ensign… If we don’t succeed in getting the frequency on the supply ships, Captain Savot won’t be taking anybody anywhere.” Now glancing in Megan’s direction, the First Officer added, “You too, Commander. When the Captain gets here we will outline our objectives and all that business,” Stacey told the two senior officers present with a smile.
Nodding wordlessly in acknowledgment, Megan was glad that at least she wouldn’t have to work for a place on this part of the mission, not that she had been concerned about that given that Captain Savot had already offered her the option of boarding the outpost. As a few more people began to arrive, Commander Garrett took her seat and waited for all to be present and the meeting to begin, reviewing her notes in the meantime. Each time she looked over her notes, she thought of more or better refined ideas, and that bothered her, as it emphasized the fact that she wasn’t as fully prepared as she usually was, but there was nothing else she could do except quickly jot down anything that came to her as it did.
Eventually, Jayden and Nathan arrived, reminding her that she hadn’t yet spoken to the doctor as she’d promised earlier. Of course, that had been less than half an hour ago, but it was still a reminder. This wasn’t the time for that either, but fortunately, it appeared he agreed, since he made no move to acknowledge her specifically from the rest of the group.
Once everyone had arrived, Megan reluctantly dragged her attention away from the padd and onto the proceedings, not wanting to risk missing anything important or else appear uninterested. If she wanted to prove her value and abilities, she had to make sure to take advantage of any and every opportunity that presented itself. From her conversation with Savot, it didn’t seem that he doubted her abilities, but he had called her an unknown variable, and so her goal was to take the words on the screen of her file and make them visible actions, which would present herself as a more reliable and predictable component. That was the end goal at least, and that started here with her participation in this meeting.

“Don’t worry Ensign, I will tell you what you need to know in a few minutes.” Jackson replied to Ensign Clarke’s concern.
Nodding to the Marine who just introduced himself Stacey began to miss K’ratak pain in the behind though he may have been.
Looking to Savot as he handled the acknowledgment of the Marines reporting in Stacey waited for him to finish before she said. “I’ll start shall I.”
<Tag Savot>
“Take your seats people.. please save questions until I ask for them, we have a bit to get through here.” She said as she walked to the main screen that was capable of displaying complex battle plans.
“Captain Savot will outline his away teams mission a little bit later but for the majority of us we are going to the outpost.. for those who don’t know our main objective is to retrieve the frequency that allows the cargo ships to pass through the time dilation field of the Penance’s base without tripping alarms.”
She paused as she input the information given by Mirror Savot on the Penance.. most of them had seen it before but others had not yet had the ‘pleasure’
“Our secondary objective is to gather any information that can make Captains Savot’s time on this abomination easier and quicker.. security routines and the like.”
Nodding as she continued. “Now as for the cargo ships frequency.. I would like us to retrieve it from two separate sources.. I don’t want us running home with an old one or a false one.” Looking to Ensign Clarke she said. “Ensign you will hack into the bases computer system and see if they have any information on the subject.. It needs to be done fast and quite.”
Looking to Commander Garrett she said. “Commander you will join her in case she needs any help.. you will be taking some security personnel with you.. once your done you will join back up with the rest of us.”
Taking a deep breath she rubbed her forehead before continuing. “Doctor.. you and I will be searching the local population for information.. we will pose as traders all we will need to do is get them thinking about the Penance and I can get what we need.”
“Mirror Savot will join whomever he feels he can contribute more too.”
“We don’t know much about this base.. all of you are to use your best discretion.. don’t raise too much suspicion.. and by no means I can’t repeat this enough By no means tell anybody where we are from.. I don’t care if you meet your mirror grandmother who in your reality is the sweetest person in the universe.. tell no one trust no one more than you need to… and be aware that some of the more influential people on the station will have Betazoids in their employ.. you all took basic class’s in the academy on how to guard your thoughts I hope you paid attention.”
“Clothing is being replicated as we speak for us to blend in.. comm. badges are to be hidden and used sparingly.. Phasers will be carried by all.. In the past some of our crew have preferred knives.. not on my team sorry Knives don’t have a stun setting.”
Exhaling heavily she asked. “Questions?”
<Tag All>
After the questions where answered Stacey nodded and said. “Captain.” She motioned for the screen saying she was done and he could outline his mission. She took a seat and was at least thankful she was done speaking.

Sarah listened to what her tasking was, it seemed simple enough all she had to do was retrieve two signals from the station that matched cargo frequencies, and hope that she didn't get caught in the process. She looked towards Garrett and smiled a little bit the nerves that she felt at the moment were rather strong. She was Bajoran, and had known war and battle all her life.
She had been practiced in hand to hand, but only sparingly because though she had been exposed to battle she turned her nose away from it. She looked around the room continuing to listen to what was being said, then came the statement about weapons. Sure she had taken basic defense and weapons training into a phaser. And, she could fight with a knife, but that was about as far as it went. Knives were so barbaric anyway.
However, she did find that she had a single question so she spoke up, "Commander, Some of us aren't exactly human, and I have read some of the reports, am I to presume that Doctor van Breughel is going to alter us to make us appear more human?"
<Tag Jackson>
It wouldn't be that difficult to change the bridge of her nose to remove the ridges, but there was the single outlying issue at play here. The religious earring wouldn't be worn by her, and that stung her to the deepest part of her core. The Bajoran shook off her fears, and smiled awaiting the answer sometimes sacrifices had to be made.
But, in this situation how many sacrifices needed to be made, and at what cost. Sarah was still confused about why they had been sent into the mirror universe a place not many went to in order to prevent the balance of power from being tipped in the Terran's favor. There were so many unanswered questions, having read the reports she would make a point to read them through again...

Savot had let Garrett depart when she asked and readied himself to go to the War Room as well.
Upon arriving, he noticed several officers already present and shortly thereafter Lance Corporal Mitchell, another of the new arrivals reported in on behalf of the Marine detachment requesting permission to accompany the boarding party. Savot, though polite, didn't hesitate, "I'm afraid that would do more harm than good Mr. Mitchell as our best defense lies in being a small unit with ease of motion that can hopefully evade notice as long as possible and when that is no longer an option, slip through the defenders as quickly as possible. Enemy numbers make a larger scale fight impossible in this scenario, though your offer is noted and commendable."
Not that one instance was enough to draw definitive conclusions from, but Savot was pleased that Mitchell had offered precisely what he believed Colonels Wolf and K'ratak would have had they still been here and that spoke well for the young man. The vulcan captain then nodded agreement at Jackson's request to begin the briefing.
Though he paid full attention to Jackson's outline Savot did spend most of it casually glancing at the people, gauging their facial reactions and posture to see how they were holding up while faced with a very serious and dangerous mission. Overall he was quite satisfied and was somewhat reassured with regards to the new officers as there didn't seem to be any aura of incompatibility that would keep the group's members from functioning together feasibly.
The captain internally applauded Jackson's good sense in trying for 2 separate sources for the frequency data and had no problems with any of her personnel choices or assignment distributions. Garrett's experience would come in handy in aiding and supervising Clarke's hacking attempts and Savot certainly didn't want any newer officer left alone in an environment like this.
As Jackson passed the briefing torch to Savot, the captain nodded acknowledgement before temporarily passing it with another nod to his reflection so he could give his input on the space station mission.
********************************************** [Mirror Savot Point-of-View]
The assassin arrived ahead of everyone... aside from his 'protection' of course, a decades-formed habit of examining a room to evaluate dimensions, exit strategies, likely angles of attack from either ranged or melee assault... though to the outside observer this was all done with a simple almost bored glance around the room before propping one leg up on the wall bearing his weight on the other and crossing his arms at his chest.
If he'd been one to externalize humor he might have laughed seeing one of the female officers enter the room... these people's echo of Garrett. As it was, his lips merely flattened in that manner that almost looked as though they would curl upward in amusement but didn't quite make it. He had no belief whatsoever in concepts like fate or inevitable occurrences; those were for weak people who needed to make themselves feel better about their own failings. But every now and again the quirks of coincidence amused him to the slightest degree before being brushed aside by the mathematics of the situation.
Paying her no further mind than the half-second look the whole thought process had taken, Mirror Savot listened to the Jackson woman's briefing as though he could not have been more disinterested if he'd been paid to, though of course in truth he noted every word and detail as was pure instinct by now. Then his naive reflection handed the briefing over to him for comment.
The Bajoran who asked a question received a response from him despite her having addressed Commander Jackson. He had the data she needed so there was no reason to be silent to allow a less-informed person to perhaps incorrectly address the issue. Mirror Savot pushed off the wall from his propped up foot though he didn't walk any closer, "Species will be cause no problems on the station; the administrator herself is non-human and the Terrans are no longer the human-supremacists they once were. They owe far too much of their resistance's victory of the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance to non-humans to maintain that racism. Our only direct enemy in this is the Alliance so the only look you need for protection is to wear on your face an expression like you have every right to be where you are."
The assassin then glanced at the whole group, after giving a slight tilted nod to Jackson, "Oh and just to put it in the proper perspective the time-dilation frequencies are needed to avoid setting off alarms... from your vessel being torn asunder by the strain of existing in two different temporal fields at the same time. We fail to get those frequencies and we don't just get caught; we provide a dead debris field to increase their supply of salvageable metals."
Mirror Savot then lowered his arms and walked to the central projector, entering a control that brought up a visual of the overall station layout, "With confirmation provided by your captain I've confirmed the outpost matches the overall design structure of your antiquated K-7 space station: one central hub with three others branching off from it via large cylindrical connecting corridors. Command and control occupies the center as it's the most stable should the station sustain damage, one is the open market quarter where registered visitors can buy, sell, or trade whatever wares or services they may have to offer. One is a residential/entertainment quarter with available holosuites and other diversions, while the third has been largely reconfigured to serve as the docking section for all visiting ships. That way no one aboard will try and double-cross a partner with an external attack since all the ships are in the same place and equally vulnerable; that's where you'll have to dock your shuttle."
"C-in-C is your guaranteed computer access point for trying to hack the database and find the codes, but physical access to that section will be restricted so you'll need to have a plan to get around the guards. Energy discharges will be detected by the station and the whole thing will go on alert so if you have to take them down do it hand-to-hand. The 2 best methods I see for gaining the codes are to hack the system as your Commander Jackson instructed, since the supply ship will have had to transmit them to the supplier to prove their identity before they're given the supplies to take back to the Penance; secondly, use your access to use the station's own sensors to scan the supply ship and confirm the frequencies."
"Failing either of those, the only confirmation will be to identify the cargo ship, get aboard her and look up the frequency directly in their engine room, and that stands a very high probability of being detected and resulting in increased security aboard the Penance", Mirror Savot backed up to his previous position against the wall, waiting to see if there were any clarifications requested on his run-down.

ooc: A bit of a backpost so I can get myself caught up Valad Tavik's Quarters: As he walked into his new quarters, Valad looked around. It was definitely smaller than on the Jefferson, but in his mind, that worked. Less he would have to clean. As promised, his few possessions were already inside, and he moved to make sure everything was accounted for. Valad had about twenty minutes before he would go to the holodeck to take part in one of the infiltration simulations. He decided to take a look at the briefing a bit to see what he had gotten himself into. It would only be a matter of time before the action would start. ----------------------------------------- ooc: there might be a simulation bp later ----------------------------------------- War Room: Valad entered the war room, seemingly the last to enter. There were already a few side conversations going on regarding the upcoming mission. None of them required him it seemed so he just prepared for the briefing. As it was called to order, Valad took his seat on the far end of the table. It was his place to just sit and watch the other officers reactions to situations, just to get an idea of who he was working with. The briefing began. Commander Jackson gave her portion of the briefing first. She gave the outline as well as assigning responsibilities to the various officers onboard. Valad noticed that he was left out of the listing. Perhaps he was being given other responsibilities. He would bide his time for now. The mirror Savot then gave his thoughts on Commander Jackson's portion. "Failing either of those, the only confirmation will be to identify the cargo ship, get aboard her and look up the frequency directly in their engine room, and that stands a very high probability of being detected and resulting in increased security aboard the Penance." For the first time, Valad piped in. "I agree. However despite the risk, a team should be prepped and standing by. We don't have a margin of error with this." (tag All)

Looking to Mirror Savot as he spoke Stacey grimaced slightly as he outlined the worse case scenario. It could have been worded slightly less dramatically, but she got the sense he enjoyed the flair he put into his speech.
Suggesting that their only recourse in case of failure would be to board one of the cargo ships and manually retrieve the frequency from their engine room brought a frown to her features, while a possible last resort it was one that Stacey would be very unwilling to let happen. The team boarding the Penance would have a hard enough time as it was never mind if security was beefed up.
She looked to Tavik who suggested it would be a good plan to have a team prepped in any case and replied. “We will take that step Commander but I am hopeful it won’t be needed.”
It suddenly occurred to her that she hadn’t given him his assignment she internally scolded herself for forgetting before saying. “Oh and Your with Commander Garret and Ensign Clarke on the station Commander.” He too was qualified with computer systems and since that was the team hacking into the stations computer system it made sense to send him with them. Beside that the more of them there was the more protection they had should things go wrong.
And more people to keep an eye on Mirror Savot should he decide to go with them, she still didn’t trust him much despite the fact he hadn’t given her much reason not too.
Looking around the room she said. “Okay any more questions?”
<Tag All, will backpost reply>
Nodding she said. “Well we all know what we need to do, we know the stakes. We have confidence in you all this isn’t the mission we would have chosen to test our abilities working together.. but we need to do this and do it we shall.”
“Visit the quartermaster and pick up your clothing.. meet in the shuttle bay in thirty minutes.” Looking to Captain Savot to check there was nothing more to be said she nodded and said. “ Lets do this and go back home…Dismissed.”
<Tag All>
Once the crew had left the War room she looked to Captain Savot and remarked. “I hope I never have to see this room again.” She looked around and gave a sigh before herself leaving to pick up her clothes.
She didn’t look forward to getting into the drab brown outfit, they looked rather ugly for her tastes, some of them looked as if they had been made from several other older outfits.. no doubt a repercussion from most of the supplies going to warfare rather than creature comforts. It had only been a couple of hours in the mirror universe and already she missed the Federation.. thoughts of shoreleave came to mind, the only decision to make was Vulcan or Betazed.

John listened intently, the atmosphere in the room was quite tense, everyone knowing that this may be a mission they do not return from in one piece, possibly not at all. Either way it hinged on getting those frequency's, without those there was little point in even considering trying to get aboard the Penance, as who ever went, wouldn't be returning.
Mirror Savot finished speaking, asking if there where any questions, John had none to ask, the mission outline was simple,if not a complicated one to put into action, with so many variables, it could easily go wrong.
Leaving the table, he gave a glance to Commander Jackson, wishing to make a suggestion to her, although he suspected she most likely will have already thought of it.
"Commander Jackson, I'm sure you have already made plans for the possibility of having to board one of the cargo sips, however, I still feel it may be worth taking a small security team, just in case, I'll be willing to draw up a list of people best suited to the job, if you feel it is needed"

The young Bajoran woman sighed with relief, "Thank you Mister Savot." She replied her religious earring that she wore over her left ear would remain in place. She smiled listening to the remainder of the briefing with renewed hope. Once Commander Jackson had finished she would follow her and Roberts out towards the quartermaster's office. Smiling to herself as she followed along.
They hadn't been inside the mirror universe for long and she was already missing her beloved home on Bajor. She would be going home as soon as they returned, but at the moment she needed to be more concerned with getting past these guards that Mirror Savot had mentioned. Luckily for her she would have help from the chief science officer and the chief operations officer.
Sarah had hoped in the back of her mind that they wouldn't need to board the cargo ships. She preferred to be as discreet as possible. As they entered the office of the Quartermaster she was already beginning to regret offering to aide in the mission on the starbase. However, when she seen that they had black slacks and a black vest that she could wear she became quite excited.

Megan hadn’t planned on being assigned to a partner. In fact, she’d planned on roaming the Starbase on her own and using her undercover abilities to gain access to the information they needed rather than being assigned a specific task, and a single glance at the young engineer confirmed her worst fears. The young Bajoran was nervous, inexperienced, green even, and nerves were plastered all over her face. Commander Garrett was trying not to be biased, as she too had been a green, newbie at one point. She would simply have to help the young, new officer as best she could without being condescending. It did sting a little, that she had not only been assigned with Ensign Clarke, but she’d also been asked to ASSIST her, rather than the other way around. Megan knew it hadn’t been intended as an insult, but for someone used to having more authority, let alone trust and confidence, it felt strange. Proving herself was turning out to be more difficult than she had predicted, although she was probably also expected to sort of look out for the young engineer and keep her safe, especially in such a dangerous environment. Not exactly ideal for trying to play whatever part necessary to gain access to the information, but it was what it was.
"Commander, some of us aren't exactly Human, and I have read some of the reports. Am I to presume that Doctor van Breughel is going to alter us to make us appear more Human?"
The question from her partner in crime made Megan feel a little better. It was an intelligent question after all, and the Mirror version of Savot answered it quickly. “Species will cause no problems on the station; the administrator herself is non-Human, and the Terrans are no longer the Human-supremacists they once were. They owe far too much of their resistance's victory of the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance to non-humans to maintain that racism. Our only direct enemy in this is the Alliance, so the only look you need for protection is to wear on your face an expression like you have every right to be where you are."
As the Captain’s Mirror walked to the central display to bring up the image of the station’s layout, Megan watched him. It was so strange, seeing the two of them in the same room. It only exemplified their differences. He was still very Vulcan, but not Vulcan at the same time. There were edges of emotion just beneath the surface that weren’t quite displayed but more apparent than with the Commodore. It was very eerie and left her feeling uneasy.
As unusual as his presence was, it at least proved to be useful, and Commander Garrett listened intently to all the information he provided, many of her questions answered by his discourse. She was starting to get a general feel for the station now, as a non-affiliated melting pot of species, each going about their own business and watching their backs. It wasn’t the nicest of environments, but in some ways, that actually aided them in their goal. The discussion about the potential necessity of boarding a cargo vessel to obtain the codes was premature as far as Megan was concerned, but being prepared for it certainly never hurt. She agreed with Jackson; they’d deal with that scenario if and when they came to it.
The assignment of Valad to the group attempting to hack the station’s computer systems provided Megan with a tiny glimmer of hope. Of course, she wouldn’t sneak off and leave it up to the two of them, as that would be unprofessional, but Tavik’s presence would allow her to take advantage of any opportunity that presented itself without having to worry about leaving Ensign Clarke entirely on her own for any period of time, so that might just work.
As the group dispersed to gather their gear, Megan glanced once more towards the Mirror version of Savot. He had given no indication of which group he would be joining or what role he would be playing, probably on purpose. That intentionally made him a wildcard, a factor that Commander Garrett didn’t like one bit. His presence was...uncomfortable and disconcerting, and now she was starting to see that perhaps the Commodore’s refusal of her request had nothing to do with her and everything to do with him. Unfortunately, since he was the reason they were here in the first place, and their key source of information, there was no way around it. None of them had any choice as to his level of involvement.
Intentionally avoiding sharing a turbolift with the others, Megan headed for her quarters first to pick up a few items. She had most of what might potentially be needed for a variety of situations on her as it was, but it never hurt to double check before an actual mission. Commander Garrett would utilize any of the tools available to her that would aide in their success, but she would also have to balance what she used and how so as not to raise any suspicions from her companions as to the specifics of what, where, and how if at all possible. Another not so easy aspect of working with others, but she’d have to make do.
Arriving at the quartermaster’s a little behind everyone, Megan retrieved her clothes and gear and quickly got ready. The clothes were certainly boring, but in some ways that was a nice change from the occasionally ridiculous outfits one had to wear to blend in, or not depending on the situation. Once ready, Commander Garrett headed for Valad and Ensign Clarke to help solidify the plan somewhat. “I don’t believe we’ve been officially introduced, Ensign. I’m Commander Garrett, and this is Lieutenant Commander Tavik. It appears it’s going to be the three of us trying to gain access to the station’s computer to download the codes, so I think it is a good idea for us to come up with a general plan for us to follow.”

“As soon as we arrive, we should head straight for Command and Control, and once there, we’ll have to observe one of the access points to see how the guards verify identity and the general pattern of coming and going to figure out how to get through. If it’s too tight, we’ll have to find another way in, but hopefully, we’ll be able to slip in. Once inside, we’ll keep moving until we see an out of the way, unoccupied console and go from there. There are a lot of potential variables here, so it’s hard to pre-plan anything beyond that. Mirror Savot was correct though. The key to pulling this off is confidence. If we act like we belong there, people are less likely to question whether we actually do. Other than that, all we can do is be observant, be ready for anything, and think quickly on our feet,” Megan concluded. Offering a slight, encouraging smile in Sarah’s direction, she added, “Hopefully, we’ll have clear opportunities, be able to execute our objectives quickly, and then get out of there.”

Sarah grabbed a white undershirt to go beneath the jet black vest that she had grabbed. She could hide her gear inside the black pants underneath the pant legs since they were lose enough. And, she could place some smaller items beneath the vest once she changed. After grabbing her things she noticed that Commander Garrett had entered the office. Before approaching her, Sarah went inside the changing area where she quickly stripped off her uniform and placed her change of clothes on. She gently undid her bun and let her long blonde hair fall around her ears and shook her head running her fingers through it.
She used this to hide her religious jewelry that was dangling from her ear. With that she pulled her vest over her, and would plan on going to grab her gear before heading to the shuttle bay with the remainder of the team. At this point it seemed that the other two people were ready with their clothing.
Arriving at the quartermaster’s a little behind everyone, Megan retrieved her clothes and gear and quickly got ready. The clothes were certainly boring, but in some ways that was a nice change from the occasionally ridiculous outfits one had to wear to blend in, or not depending on the situation. Sarah smiled, "Nice to meet you both Commander's I haven't exactly tried to hack a system before, or steal cargo ship docking codes. They don't exactly teach that in the Academy these days." She replied then placed her hands behind her back and tightened her shoulders rolling them forward then moving them even once more, "But, I will try my best in this interesting situation." The Bajoran replied nodding causing her hair to move a little bit the golden earring would shimmer for a second then once more vanish behind the flowing blonde hair.

However, we run the risk of losing personnel and we will need to act that much quicker in retrieving our data."

JP between Nathan and Stacey[/color]
She nodded at John suggestion. “Sounds like a good idea… choose two officers one with me and the doctor the other with Garrett and her team.. I don’t want to take many more the less people we take the less chance of raising eyebrows.” She took a deep breath. “Oh and prepare team to be ready to board a cargo ship.”
<tag roberts>
Jackson gave him a nod and then walked towards the exit of the war room. She found herself walking next to the doctor and she looked over and said. “Doctor.. I hope you don’t mind joining the away team.. I don’t know if you did this on the Jefferson.. if you prefer to stay behind don’t be afraid to let me know.”
“Since I was the only qualified doctor on board the Jefferson, I usually did join away teams,” Nathan replied, smiling slightly, “I am no stranger to away missions ma'am. I'm quite confident that my Starfleet records show my capability in such matters. I know I'm no trained officer and I'm quite aware of my limits. I am a man of caution ma'am.” That wasn't wholly true, but in the fact that he always took the medications with him that he would require for himself, apart from is medical kit. In that, he did use caution. “What am I expected to be doing?” he finally asked.
She looked over and smiled slightly. “I prefer Commander.. the grey hair makes me feel old enough.” She stood in front of the turbolift waiting for it to arrive when she replied. “I haven’t had chance to read your file yet to be honest.. I have been thinking about all this mirror universe stuff… gives me a headache.” She sighed and then continued.
“Well you and I will be canvassing the local population seeing if we can make contacts to get any information on defenses Captain Savot may run into.. it’s possible they have information not stored in the computer files. I assume as a doctor you have great experience dealing with people.. and me as a Counsellor and a Betazoid well it simply made sense.” She finished as the turbolift opened.
“I'm not unfamiliar in dealing with people no,” the doctor replied calmly, though it was a false calm. What was he going to encounter on the station? If anything, he dreaded an encounter with an evil form of himself. And could he ignore the possible suffering? He feared he wouldn't be able to, but he was going to try. He lowered his mental barriers a little, sufficient for her to get a little more than his surface emotions. It was an invitation for her to reach out and learn about him in an immediate way, rather than traversing his files. “But I do have my family to consider. I am, not pleased with the idea of Jayden going on this away mission. What if something happens to both of us? We have two very young children.”
Stepping inside the turbolift she nodded slightly. “Oh the marine who was in the briefing.. I didn’t know you two were a family, I will take that into consideration next time.” She took a deep breath. “He isn’t joining us on the station.. he offered to help the Captain with his away mission.. and they won’t leave until we get back.. and I have to be honest.. I am not sure the Captain will accept his offer of help in the first place.. the Captain is unwilling to accept anybody else to the team.”
She turned and looked at him and smiled. “Don’t worry doctor.. I can safely say nobody has died on away team I have led.. and I don’t intend to allow you to spoil my record.” The statement was true, there was the bomb at the conference that killed some crew members but Savot was there and in charge.
“Lance Corporal Jayden Mitchell is my husband,” Nathan replied, “and I have no intention on getting killed. I came very close twice, and I have no desire to repeat that venture. It was quite...undesirable, and I spent quite some time in my own sickbay to recover. Since then, I have taken defensive training and I have learned to defend myself, and my family if necessary.” He smiled. “So, what sort of information are we looking for? Do we mingle and pose ourselves as traders or something?” He paused, turning to face her directly. “What are the odds of meeting ourselves?”
“Good to hear Doctor, I shall be sure to hide behind you then should any trouble befall us.” She said slightly joking. “Well traders would be the best approach, expressing a passing interest in doing bussines with the Penance and her builders… if we ask around the other traders may have information and once we get them thinking about it.. I can do the rest make sure we are getting truth rather than false information.. as for what we are looking for I don’t know anything of help.”
She paused before continuing. “It is very hard for an organisation to keep things secret.. gossip is always to be had.. hopefully some of it will be useful.” She added. Frowning slightly now she thought for a moment before saying. “Well it is always a chance we will run into ourselves.. but I would say given the size of the universe and the amount of people in it what are the chances they happen to be on this station?”
“Knowing my luck on away missions, very large,” the doctor murmured under his breath. “So, traders. Mind if I just be a healer passing through, looking for certain supplies? I'm no good at undercover missions, I really am what I appear to be, a doctor.”
“Or a healer interested in selling supplies to the Penance.. As long as it gets them talking about out target you can pretend to be a go-go dancer if you like.” The turbolift stopped and Jackson stepped out along with Nathan, as they were both going to collect the clothing from the quartermaster. “Don’t be too worried, I can fake it enough for the both of us… Is there anything else that concerns you about the mission or the ship? While you have my attention.”
“How are Commanders Garrett and Tavik settling in? I haven't really had a chance to speak to them. Truth to be told, I was quite surprised when I saw Commander Garrett on the bridge. She hadn't mentioned that she too, was transferring to the El-Salvador. We served together on the Jefferson, she is, in fact, my daughter's godmother.”
“I don’t know I haven’t had much of a chance to talk to any of the newer members of the crew.. you all arrived just before we left for this mission.. and we all have been rather busy..” Stacey shook her head slightly. “Not the ideal way to settle in but I am sure they will get there eventually.” She then added. “It can’t be easy coming to a new ship.. especially for Commander Garrett taking a downgrade in position and all.. but Starfleet likes to shake things up.”
The doctor nodded. “It wil be a challenge, making this ship home again. I served on the Jefferson for four years. My son had to leave many friends behind, it won't be easy for him. Another question commander, if I may. Does this ship have a pool, or do I need to create a holodeck program? I have a daily swimming routine, as part of an exercise regime. As you are probably aware, I have a heart condition, and swimming keeps me both healthy, and sane.”
“We are a much smaller ship than a sovereign class vessel.. this class was designed to fight the Borg and the Dominion the builders didn’t add that many luxuries.. we have gyms but for a pool you will need a holodeck.” She said. She was fairly sure anyway she didn’t venture to the gym or that area much, her exercise was jogging which she did on the holodeck. “Hopefully that will suffice to keep you sane.. I’d hate to think of the paperwork involved for me should you go insane.” She added with a grin.
'I have done once,” Nathan confessed, “and I'm not sure how much paperwork Commander Garrett had on it.” Hopefully that didn't destroy her opinion on his mental stability. He studied the garments the quartermaster had replicated. “How long before we beam to the station?” he asked, folding the garments over his arm, gazing at her directly.
“I see, well lets hope for your sanity’s sake I don’t have to find out.”
Picking up her own distasteful clothes. She replied. “We aren’t, as I said before we are taking a shuttle.. we don’t want to take the El Salvador within sensor range of the station… Well Doctor we meet in the shuttle bay in twenty minutes, make the arrangements you need to before then."
“Yes ma- Commander.” He smiled ever so slightly. “I won't be late,” he vowed. He walked off to his quarters, where he started to make arrangements for sickbay, and the care of the children while he was away and Jayden on duty.
Jayden wasn't too pleased with him going and more than once bid him to be careful, almost to the point where Nathan nearly snapped at him in annoyance. “I'll be careful, don't worry about me. I haven't gotten myself killed so far, I can manage. Please Jayden, I require your faith, not your moping. I won't be gone long.”
The marine took the specially prepared medkit from his husband's hands and set it aside before cupping his face in both hands. “I can tell you're apprehensive, don't lie to me to spare my feelings. Something bothers you.” He reached up for a kiss. “I can't stress enough for you to be careful. I don't know this first officer, she's a former counselor. At least with Garrett, I knew she'd bring you back safe. With her, we've yet to see.”
“I trust her,” Nathan replied simply as he changed into his new outfit, frowning at the tattered appearance. “Don't I look dandy,” he muttered as he stuffed his personal hyposprays away, as well as an inhaler just to be safe. A small phaser was stuffed into his boot. “I have to go.” His words were smothered as Jayden pulled him into a final and very passionate kiss, before shoving him out the door.

"Nice to meet you both, Commanders; I haven't exactly tried to hack a system before or steal cargo ship docking codes. They don't exactly teach that in the Academy these days," she replied then placed her hands behind her back and tightened her shoulders rolling them forward then moving them even once more, "but I will try my best in this interesting situation."
Megan didn’t comment on this, but again, it concerned her. Hacking systems was what she was actually best at and most experienced in, so it was very strange to be a position where she’d been asked to help someone who had never done it before. Still, it wasn’t like anyone necessarily knew she had specialized in undercover infiltration and data retrieval for three years out of the Academy, as it wasn’t exactly spelled out in her official record. She couldn’t exactly expect them to know or hold them accountable for not knowing what was classified, nor could she just tell them outright either. So she would make the best of it.
"There is a second option, but it'll require one of our security officers that we bring with us playing bait. We could create a diversion that will cause their security to scramble in that direction. However, we run the risk of losing personnel and we will need to act that much quicker in retrieving our data," Ensign Clarke suggested following Megan’s mini-speech.
This earned a small smile from Commander Garrett. That was a good suggestion, and it showed that the new Ensign was at least aware of the situation and had a good head on her shoulders in spite of her lack of experience in these types of situations. “That is a very good alternative plan, although I would rather avoid that if we can. We don’t want to put the guards on alert if necessary and make it more difficult to accomplish the task and get out, so we’ll have to keep our eyes open and find or make an opportunity, or else come up with a distraction that won’t come across as threatening or cause a reason for alarm.”
<Tag Clarke and Valad>
As the group assembled, all dressed in their newly replicated, drab civilian clothes, Megan glanced around the group. She knew Valad and Nathan, glad that the doctor had at least received some tactical training from her, but the rest were mostly unknown. She had, of course, reviewed Commander Jackson’s record during the shuttle flight, but knowing she had formerly been a counselor wasn’t exactly encouraging; however, given her assignment as XO, she clearly had Commodore Savot’s trust and the requisite experience and ability to justify that position, so Megan would just have to trust that as well. Clarke was new and inexperienced, but she would be close by and had already shown some promise. It was the Mirror version of Savot that was most concerning. His calm, inscrutable expression didn’t directly raise any suspicion, but he just felt...untrustworthy, his whole aura was off.
Unfortunately, there was nothing Megan could do about any of the unknown variables of this situation, no matter how much she disliked relying on others in touchy circumstances and missions like this, especially others she didn’t know. More and more, Commander Garrett was beginning to understand the position that Commodore Savot was in with the Penance. It didn’t change her opinion that her presence would be high beneficial or her determination to participate and see it successfully completed, but she did understand it more. Hopefully, this part would go smoothly, data would be collected, and she could still prove the value of her assistance. If not, well, she would just deal with that if it came to it.

*Somewhere in the Mirror Universe*
Lounging on the deep green chaise and casually browsing the datapadd in her hand, she was so bored. There was absolutely nothing in the reports that interested or amused her, no potential jobs in the near future, and perhaps worst of all, her current pursuit was on a non-assassination, some pro-rebellion nonsense that didn’t interest her in the slightest. Why he cared so much about the politics of the region was beyond her. As long as she had her own power established, the struggles, rising and falling, and changes in galactic dominance meant little to her. There were always people in power, and as long as they had jobs for her and were willing and able to pay to complete them, it didn’t really matter who they were. She had no additional qualifications than that, paying her high yet deserved fee, be within her interest, and have some degree of challenge or enjoyment in it for her.
Unfortunately, at the moment anything would preferable to this dragging tedium. Normally, she would find something to occupy her attention, a new slave, shopping spree, perhaps one of her Vulcan slaves would get the seven year itch, which was always fun to scratch, but right now there was absolutely nothing. That wasn’t entirely true. She could easily go shopping or find something to amuse herself with, but quite frankly, her attention already was taken, but as fate would have it, by something she couldn’t have, or rather someone.
It had started as a passing interest, grown into a fascination, then a challenge, and now, a full blown obsession. There was little she couldn’t have, little she couldn’t buy or take, and even less that she couldn’t find some other way to acquire, but he was different. She had a thing for Vulcans; she always had. Their strength and control made them excellent slaves, and their loyalty and dedication ensured their devoted service. Yes, they could be a bit boring, but every seven years, they more than made up for it. This particular Vulcan, however, wasn’t one she could just buy, and he wasn’t Human, Orion, Romulan, Trill or Bajoran, so he couldn’t be seduced either, and there were few men she couldn’t seduce. Even Vulcan weren’t immune to her, but he seemed entirely unimpressed and uninterested.
The whole thing was a puzzle, a frustrating puzzle. She often enjoyed puzzles, but not if they couldn’t be solved. Over the past few years since he’d shown up on her radar, she had tried just about everything to no avail, and all he’d given in return was a cold disdain, as if he was above her, and he most definitely was not. Normally his refusal would have been met with a cold disdain of her own, his loss really, but in this case it merely made her want him all the more. She’d followed him, studied him, tracked him on and off since she had been made aware of his existence. She knew him, and based on what she knew, it wasn’t personal. He was a man of cold, hard logic, based his decisions on the facts and the numbers, but that didn’t make him any less desirable, or his slight any less offensive.
It was only a matter of time though. She was a woman of power, wealth, and influence. Her skills were as deep as her resources, and there was little she couldn’t do given the time. It might take her years more, it might happen during her next attempt, but one thing was certain: it would happen. No matter how much or how long it took, she wouldn’t be denied forever. It was inevitable. One way or another, one day, Megan Garrett would bed Savot.

Sarah nodded, "Hopefully it won't come to that then." She replied as they began to assemble together, this was a tough task and she was beginning to feel as if she really should have stayed behind in main engineering. Deep inside she shook her head, that was not her personality to turn away when she was needed. Her lack of experience was sufficiantly made up for by her great amount of enthusiasm and drive. Somehow she was a very dedicated young woman, and in this case that were quite true. She could have stayed behind and helped in main engineering, but then she wasn't showing the confidence she had in her team on board to get the task done in her absence. This was her first away mission and she wanted to make the best of it.
Sarah Maria Clarke felt a little out of place however she was in fact the only bajoran in the group. And, perhaps the least experienced out of all of them, she was fresh out of the academy thrown into a position that she only dreamed of. Luckily she had people that had been experienced and could get the job done. Having already grabbed her gear before assembling with the others hidden away were all sorts of little gadgets, and her hand weapon. I'm an engineer not a murderer...I really hope that I do not have to resort to violence, but if Megan or Stacey or even Valad and the Doctor are threatened I will not hesitate. I owe them that much, yes I owe them everything that I can be. Her heart seemed to slow down as she began to relax.
The plan was simple enough they had to quickly find a way to get the cargo ship codes, and from there transmit them to the El'Salvador without a problem. Anything they did could potentially make things on the Penance that much harder for the Commodore. She had a general idea of how to do infiltration she had done that in the academy while taking some intelligence courses. She also took some basic self defense and advanced self defense courses along with her field of study. Today she would be using the first skill, and quite possibly the other skills. Sarah felt too raw and still very out of place. But, she somehow managed to hide this with a smile. Standing in her quarters hoping that everything went according to plan, but what did they say in the Academy. 'Nothing ever goes according to plan!'
.:.I.S.S. Heartbreaker.:.
Sarah sat strumming the edge of the seat, another patrol mission along the asteriod base. How dull and boring for her to be in command of a small escort type vessel and all they ever did get to do was sit and watch the stars from their viewer. Recently promoted to Commander and given a field commision to the Command of this ship when they were attacked last month had left nearly the entire crew dead, or seriously wounded. The ship barely crawled back, and now central headquarters didn't trust the ship to make it through another fight. The young bajoran officer looked around scornfully she was the most senior officer to survive, and that made her the Commanding Officer she was promoted to Commander and told the ship was hers.
Now she could only hope to keep her as the new crewman were suffering from a strong rift against those that were among the old crew that had survived the battle. The ship was heavily damaged in the attack, and was still not operating at full potential that was why they were to monitor this area. Away from the main lines of the war, and besides nobody would ever dare to attack this base since it appeared to be a regular asteroid hiding a very large secret...

Post by SA. Stacey Jackson [Ret] on Aug 2, 2010 22:21:00 GMT
** Jackson’s quarters **
She stared glumly at the brown clothing provided to her by the quartermaster, she didn’t like to think of herself as a vain person but she liked to look nice. And ratty brown clothes didn’t help in the slightest.
“Never hear about the mirror universe of sparkly clothes, sunshine and lollipops.. always the ones with dreadful brown and death.” She muttered to herself as she pulled on the clothing.
Placing her Comm. badge under a specially designed flap that kept it hidden from view and out of the sight of those who may pry as to what it means she gave herself a final nod as she glanced in the mirror.
Another sigh escaped her before she picked up the coffee cup and drank the last of the coffee. “Better have Coffee on this station.” She grumpily stated before leaving her quarters.
** Deck 2 corridor **
She hadn’t made it three steps out of her quarters when she was approached by Lieutenant Palmer whom she recognised for working with security. He gave her a nod and asked. “Your leaving for the outpost Ma’am?”
“No Lieutenant these are my fancy going out clothes.. I thought I would go catch a movie maybe have a few drinks… Yes I am going to the outpost.. if you need something make it quick I have less than a minute.” Jackson replied with a light tone.
He nodded and said. “Well Ma’am.. We found something in storage that we think might be of use to you.. it has a multi frequency tracking signal that can make beaming out from the station easier.. normally it would be too big to take anywhere viably.. apparently it was made by.. Colonel Wolf for Commander Hope.. you see it’s a form of walking stick like a cane.. and I thought it wouldn’t look unusual for someone for your…”
Jackson’s eyes widened before narrowing causing him to stop mid sentence. She took a deep breath before smiling. “Thank you Palmer I was worried about this mission to tell the truth.” She nodded as she paused. “A risk of not coming back running into any number of troubles.” Again she paused. “But now I am positive I will come back.. Just to make you pay.. and pay severely you shall.”
Again she smiled. “Back to work Ensign.”
He held up his hand. “Uh Ma’am it’s Liueten.. no Ensigns fine Ensign works for me.” He said as he nodded.
** Shuttle Bay **
She walked in and gave a nod to the assembled group. “Well were ready then.” She looked to Mirror Savot and said. “Anything last minute to say Mister Savot?”
<Tag Mirror Savot>
“Thank you Mister Savot.. very inspiring.” She said with a roll of her eyes. She clapped her hands together and said. “Well lets get this ball rolling.. we wouldn’t want to keep Mister Savot here from his career as a motivational speaker.”
She waited until everyone had boarded the shuttle craft and said. “Commander Tavik if you would do the honours of piloting us to the co-ordinates provided by Mister Savot… Commander Garrett keep sensors on the look out for anything unusual.”
<Tag Tavik and Garrett>
“Ensign Clarke man the tactical console please.”
<Tag Clarke>
Tapping a Panel Jackson said. “Mini Sal to bridge we are ready, permission to disembark?”
<Tag Savot>
“Your heard him Commander.. take us out.” She said as she patted Taviks shoulder as she stood behind him. She looked to Doctor Van Breughel and smiled as she said. “You can sit there and look handsome Doctor.. and be ready for me to hide behind you.”
<Tag Tavik and Nathan>
She took her own seat and was about to read a Padd when she looked up and said. “Well it is going to take about forty five minutes for us to get there.. I think that enough time for us all to get to know each other a little bit better… How about you Ensign Clarke.. your new from the academy what did you specialise in.. and have you any family?”
<Tag Clarke/ All you guys can post us as far as making it too the station but not getting on board yet want to allow everybody to backpost and get to the same point.. And Roberts feel free to NPC security escorts for the two teams>

.:.Quarters.:.
Sarah grabbed up her commbadge it was the last piece of gear she had left and placed it under her white shirt behind the black vest that she was wearing. She put on the fingerless gloves and checked that her hand phaser was set on stun, the thought of killing another made her cringe. During the occupation, or even the Dominion War she could not have been in Starfleet killing another would have given her never ending post traumatic stress. She wouldn't have been able to sleep for months perhaps even longer then that. Once she was confident that everything was in place she looked towards her back wall a photograph of her father and mother hung there. She smiled Father someday I will see you again, and how I cannot express the feelings of warmth when that day comes. The smile remained as she left her quarters heading towards the shuttle bay to meet with the others.
.:.Shuttlebay/Shuttle.:.
She found that everybody had arrived at this point, and the mirror universe version of Commodore Savot had been asked to say anything he deemed necessary. So she would listen patiently...
<Tag M Savot>
“Ensign Clarke man the tactical console please.”
After they had boarded the shuttle she had been requested to take control of the tactical console on board the Mini Sal. She nodded and sat down behind the controls quickly reviewing them, once more she was placed in a position where she may or may not have to take lives. The thought and evil deed seemed cruel to her as she cringed a little bit once more. Under the console she had her fingers crossed in hopes that they would have a rather uneventful mission. Fly over take what we need come back. How hard can it be, I mean as long as we aren't discovered, and are able to transit back it'll be fine. Yes, everything will be fine. She kept repeating the same thoughts over and over again until she heard Commander Jackson's voice again.
Sarah blinked for a moment, nobody had asked her about herself since... Well, it had been years ago her childhood to be more precise. "I specialized in biomedical engineering, impulse propulsion, and some different types of self defense." Her response was smooth and even it was odd to speak about learning self defense she didn't want to use violence against another it was not her way. "I only have my mother, father was killed during the Dominion War he was a Captain on board the Providence. He was killed in action trying to protect his wounded Executive Officer when the ship was boarded. They managed to repel the invaders, and the ship suffered heavy casualties and damage. It was during the battle over Cardassia near the end of the war. Mother was devestated when his XO Lieutenant Commander Ronnie Davidson returned to inform us of his death. She put me through therapy, and hasn't been right since our loss." It was rare for Sarah to speak of her parents to many people. In fact that was the first mention of her father in three years ever since her mother stopped talking of him and sort of shut out her daughter.

Afterwards she fell very silent dwelling within her own thoughts. It was the reason she felt so strongly about taking another person's life she didn't fight during the war she was still a teenager when it happened. The family stayed in Bajor while her Captain father went out on the ship believing that the ship life was no place to raise a family. She hardly knew her father, but the loss was stil hard enough. What made it worse was the counseling that her mother made her daughter endure. Even thinking about it would tear open the wound that simply would not heal. She hadn't spoken to her mother for a while now ever since she joined Starfleet. Her inspiration was her father he died honorably giving his life for his best friend and comrade Ronnie who by now had made Captain and was Commanding the ship that her father died on. Sarah had been invited to visit the ship, and even had an offer to serve there once she graduated. Both she carefully declined. The young bajoran had no desire to visit the place where her father's life had been so violently ripped from him. Yet, due to it all, and even now knowing that it was a Dominion soldier who had killed her father she didn't want revenge. And, Sarah did not hate the Dominion she felt sorry for them. And, for any lifeform that has ever seen battle, and even those who embrace it, and wish to let it take them into it's arms with their final dying breath.
Clarke felt that a small part of her still held on to the belief that her father was still with her somehow. He was the primary reason she had joined Starfleet even against her mother's wishes. Her mother was an entirely different story Sarah loved her mother very much and held her in high regard. But, at the same time she didn't understand what had caused her mother to become the woman she was so many years after the fact. Granted the woman lost the love of her life, and Bajoran's were known to wear their emotions and religious faith on their sleeve, but did that truly matter? Father was now one with the prophets that brought at least some peace and joy to Sarah's own thoughts. But, not to her mother, the Bajoran woman felt that the Dominion should burn, and so should the Federation. Her mother disliked Starfleet, because where were they during the Occupation that had killed so many innocent lives? Sarah's mother had taken a dark path wishing death and destruction upon those that had taken away her husband and the father of their only child. But, Sarah didn't feel this way, in fact she had moved on even though it was a hard thing to do.
.:.Surul, Bajor.:.
Jira Hera(Who is James' twin sister Kelsey under cover on Bajor) looked into the eyes of the woman across from her inside the small shop. "So let me get this straight Saena your planning on taking down the Exchange as well?"
Saena Clarke looked across the table at the other Bajoran unaware of course of her true identity. "I do not like the Federation, or what they stand for they killed my husband. But, I will not allow a group of terrorists the chance to kill my only child with their plots of evil!" The woman admitted scornfully she hadn't spoken to her daughter for quite sometime and the pain was still clearly visible they had a fight just before the two parted ways when her child went into Starfleet. They had yet to make up for their differences and she felt that somehow she was to blame for the whole injustice.
Hera nodded, "Then I need you to infiltrate their base command and gather data for me. How well do you know the layout, and can you successfully complete the operation without being discovered?" Hera wasn't very trusting at this point she felt that in all honesty this was something she should be doing and not leaving to the scrabble of others. But, Intel had placed her in contact with Saena because the woman knew a thing or two about the Exchange turned out Intel wasn't too far off. Saena wasn't at all easy to locate, and it seemed that the woman had been awaiting a chance to strike at the heart of the terror cell herself.
Saena smiled wryly, "I told you Hera I can get inside quietly enough. i will gather the information you need, but you must promise me that this will damage them enough that they will not be able to strike?"
"Of course not Saena, you know as well as I that this is a long term mission eventually I will need to go and infiltrate them myself."
"Let me help you?"
Hera heard the plea and shrugged, "I cannot make any promises, but I will try." She replied to the questioning look upon the other Bajoran's face. Hera wasn't certain who this woman's daughter was, but perhaps someday she would find out. And, hopefully on that day it would be Saena telling her exactly who it was.
.:.Mini Sal.:.
Sarah remained occupied by her thoughts, hoping that she could perhaps someday go back to her home and meet with her mother. Someday she would be able to make up for lost time she hadn't spoken to her mother in four years. And, even before that they hardly spoke to each other. Ever since the death of her father, and the one person she believed that her mother hated the most was Ronnie. Poor Ronnie who didn't do anything he was the one that was at the graduation for her not her mother. When she saluted her officer after being pinned with her first rank insignia it was her father's friend and shipmate Ronnie that was across from her. He was the one that put in the request to have her aboard that was somewhat difficult to say no to. But, when she explained the reasons the Captain nodded and understood. It was the reason she was on board the El'Salvador not the Providence. She would return home after this was all over and apologize to her mother. But, the difficult part was locating her she didn't think her mother even lived on Bajor any longer. In fact it seemed that when she tried to contact her last two days before her graduation her mother didn't answer. Though Sarah didn't realize it was because Saena was in Surul instead of her hometown. Regardless the fear of losing her mother was great and all, but she didn't believe that she would shed a tear. Perhaps for all the lost time since she was so drawn away from her mother after the loss of her father.

[Backpost: War Room]
As the group dispersed, Captain Savot echoed his First Officer's sentiments about hoping to never see the War Room again, "Indeed; let us hope our actions prove at least successful enough to preclude having to utilize again in this particular environment." He referred to the Mirror Universe of course, and with that he handed the first part of the mission solely over to Jackson and the two parted company.
Savot himself returned to the bridge where he would oversee the Mini-Sal's departure as was proper, but afterwards he retired to the Ready Room. There was a time to personally supervise... and then there was a time to project confidence by appearing not to nervously hover over a situation you couldn't directly effect anyway, and it was currently the latter. As the doors whooshed closed; however, he thought he heard soft breathing from atop the couch...
************************************************* [Jackson's Team: Shuttlebay]
The Mini-Sal had been slightly doctored in appearance to make her blend a bit more. Blue nacelle panels had been replaced with orange and the outer surface had been detailed by Engineering at Starbase 24 to appear weathered, rusty, generally not like a well-maintained Starfleet ship and more like something a private owner or group might have managed to purchase and cruise the MU in.
Jackson then walked in and gave a nod to the assembled group. “Well were ready then.” She looked to Mirror Savot and said, “Anything last minute to say Mister Savot?”
The assassin, clad in somewhat form-fitting black with slightly padded armor on the torso and shins, arched an eyebrow for a moment before offering, "If you fail, don't get taken alive. I'm not overly confident in your collective ability to withstand interrogation and destroying the Penance will be difficult enough without loose tongues giving them any details on which to base increased defenses."
Jackson, in true leader form, fired a quick response at the verbal slight Mister Savot had aimed at her people, “Thank you Mister Savot.. very inspiring.” She said with a roll of her eyes. She clapped her hands together and said, “Well let's get this ball rolling.. we wouldn’t want to keep Mister Savot here from his career as a motivational speaker.”
He then took his place near the rear of the shuttle staying out of the others' way for the trip to the outpost called Lambda 4 currently controlled by the female Cardassian Marel, a sound businesswoman who had shed her race's attitude of racial superiority and as such treated anyone who could be of potential worth with equal parts respect and wariness. Also, fortunately for the Starfleet team, it meant she was not a direct ally with those remnants of her people and the Klingon Alliance that were constructing the Penance so she wouldn't kill or give them away just on principle.
Jackson got them on their way towards the station and the real mission began in earnest.
[OOC: Will be out of town until Sunday night as mentioned in the Roll thread; Commander Jackson is authorized to make as much progress with the Lambda 4 portion of the mission as she can/wants, will answer any tags ASAP upon my return.]

Valad yawned as he waited near the quartermaster with Clarke. All three on this team had been thrust into this mission quickly. Valad was pleased with it though, since he was hoping for some action that was so amusingly denied him on his final mission with the Jefferson. He had been assigned to Commander Garrett and Ensign Clarke, the latter of which would be performing the brunt of the work. Valad simply was going along as muscle, which worked quite well for his current frame of mind.
As Garrett approached the two and discussed the plan, Valad remained fairly silent. He didn't care how this mission was going to go down. All he was certain of was that he would focus on watching their backs. The young engineer offered a back up plan, to which Garrett replied, "That is a very good alternative plan, although I would rather avoid that if we can. We don’t want to put the guards on alert if necessary and make it more difficult to accomplish the task and get out, so we’ll have to keep our eyes open and find or make an opportunity, or else come up with a distraction that won’t come across as threatening or cause a reason for alarm.”
Adding his two cents, "There will be no need for another member. I will provide any diversion we need." It was a rather egotistical move, but Valad didn't care.
"Hopefully it won't come to that then."
----Shuttle Bay-----
As the group assembled in the shuttle bay, Valad started to get eager. He was itching for action. His new XO arrived, signaling the mission was about to start.
“Commander Tavik if you would do the honours of piloting us to the co-ordinates provided by Mister Savot…"
Valad simply nodded, recognizing the order. Commander Jackson assigned everyone to a post and they started to board the Mini-Sal. Valad immediately moved and sat in the pilot's seat. He started the typical preflight check and waited for his orders.
“Your heard him Commander.. take us out.”
He did as he was told and expertly piloted the shuttle out of the bay. The easiest thing about flying in space was there was usually little to hit, perfect even for a beginner. Lucky him....

Following Mirror Savot’s short ‘pep talk,’ Megan boarded the shuttle with the rest of the team and took the science station as ordered. She hadn’t really been bothered thinking about the mirror universe aspect of the mission, at least until now. At first, this had been just like any other assignment, albeit on with a new ship and crew and struggling with the unfamiliarity with the others and their lack of familiarity with her, but ever since the Mirror version of Savot had been introduced to her, in a manner of speaking, something just had not felt right, why she didn’t know. True, he looked like the Captain but was very different, but up until today, Commander Garrett hadn’t even known the Commodore of their own universe, but something about him gave her the creeps, for lack of a better word. He had yet to say or do anything specific that she could pinpoint as a cause. It was just a feeling.
As everyone took their stations, they received confirmation from Savot to get underway, and the min-Sal, as the El Salvador shuttle was lovingly called, lifted off from the deck of the shuttle bay and out into space, Megan watched the sensors as ordered. There was nothing of note to mention or watch for, and in spite of knowing they were in an alternate universe, space itself looked no different on sensors. The scientist in her briefly wondered if the background radiation frequencies or the concentration of space dust were different here than in the same sector in their own space, but considering why they were here and what was at stake with their mission, that hardly seemed like a real priority at the moment.
Lost in her own thoughts and keeping an eye on the sensors, Megan winced slightly as Commander Jackson spoke to Ensign Clarke. The last thing she wanted was a nice little chat on personal matters, at a time like this or any time really. Commander Garrett was a private person, rarely sharing anything not related to duty with anyone. As it was, there was little in her life that wasn’t all about work, so what little there was she closely guarded. Still, as Sarah replied, the science officer listened carefully, while trying to look as busy as possible to avoid any questions being sent in her direction. Although she would never ask any personal questions of her fellow crewmembers, she made note of any information that was shared, since it was always useful to learn about the people you worked beside. You never knew when it could come in handy. She may not have been one for sharing, but if they wished to, that was their business, and the least she could do was to pay attention.
However, her goal would be to avoid any unnecessary conversation related to herself, if it was at all possible, especially with the Mirror version of Savot lurking in the background. Something told her she wouldn’t want him overly aware of her presence or learning any additional information about her. Megan, for one, would feel much better once he was off the ship, and they put a universe between the El Salvador and the assassin. Yes, it was definitely best for everyone to complete the mission as quickly and successfully as possible and get back to their own universe where they belonged, and sooner was definitely better.
~
Her first shift on the El Salvador had gone even better than expected. The department was so well organized, which was a welcomed change. Her duties were clearly specified and fit into a ship-wide pattern that made perfect sense and was clearly defined, and so far her colleagues and superiors had been friendly, organized, responsible, and knowledgeable. All in all, Marina was one happy security officer, and she hadn’t even made a friend or been on a date yet, which was usually a requirement for feeling like she belonged somewhere.
Following a full tour of the security department, introductions to some of the team, filling out and filing the necessary paperwork, receiving her work schedule for the remainder of the week, and working an introductory partial brig/partial security shift, Ensign Garrett felt established, prepared, and excited to be here. It was a testament to the ship and crew as to how quickly and easily she was adjusting. She hadn’t been aboard a full day, and she already had all her questions answered and had all the information she needed to proceed.
After returning to quarters, getting a shower, and settling in for a quiet evening with Onyx and Amber, she quickly grew restless. Unpacking wasn’t relaxing enough, but just sitting around and getting something to eat was far too boring. It didn’t take long for her mind to begin to wander back to Commander Roberts...wondering what he was doing, whether he was busy and on duty or not. A quick check via the internal sensors revealed that he was on the bridge, which was terribly disappointing. Still, she wasn’t one to give up hope just yet. The guy had to eat at some point, didn’t he? And she was new to the ship.
Her mind made up, Marina went to get ready. She was off duty after all, so she could wear whatever she wanted, within reason of course. About forty minutes later, she was ready to go. She looked good enough to certainly be noticed, but not so good that it appeared she wanted to be noticed, a very important distinction. She also looked semi-professional enough to switch from hanging out at the mess hall to talking to her boss about security. Now all ready, she drafted a quick message to him, hit send, and was off to get a drink.
~
“Commander Roberts,
Thank you for welcoming me aboard and allowing me to participate in your preparations for the mission ahead. Your staff has been equally welcoming and a great help in getting me settled. I realize you’re very busy, but when you get a moment, I have a few questions I would like to ask you. They’re nothing terribly important and given our current situation, I completely understand should there not be time in the near future, but I appreciate your consideration regardless of whether or not you should find the time. Thank you again.
Ensign Marina Garrett”
~
Having found the primary lounge to have the right atmosphere, Marina had placed herself at the bar and ordered a drink. The lounges were a little less formal than the mess halls, and there were plenty of off duty personal in civilian’s clothes for her to not stick out too badly. Still, the room was fairly sedate without a completely casual feel. There were still two more lounges situated throughout the ship, and probably one of those would be more suited to just kicking back and having fun, but for now, this would certainly do, especially since if all went according to plan, it was her boss who would hopefully be joining her here.
She’d already caught a few eyes, and a few had caught hers, but she wasn’t one to give up on a plan before it even had a chance. So she would sit here and wait for Commander Roberts, unless someone came along and gave her a pretty good reason not to that is...

**war room back post**
"I'll make the arrangements Commander, I'll have the teams meet you in the shuttle bay" John replied, with that turning on his heels and leaving to draw up a list of officers to send out on the away mission.
Each of the 3 officers he had in mind where called into the security office one by one, and given their orders, and reminded that what ever occurs on the away mission, must not be disscussed unless directly contacted by a senior officer, and in the presence of himself. Enisgn Kruger, Lt. Nagase and Lt. Richmond where the 3 people chosen, mostly for their specialities, and because John knew he could trust them with the tasks layed out before them. **backpost**
Leaving the security office, John headed to the bridge, even though he knew he had some time to kill and there wasn't a right lot for him to be doing, however, he thought it best to ensure that tactical systems where ready, should they be needed.
Arriving, he was surprised at how many people where on the bridge, most just doing system checks. He relived an ensign manning the sec/tac station, and began to check, and double check all the tactical systems. During this, a little icon popped up on the screen, pressing it a little message appeared.
He figured he didn't have anything left to do, after all, he could check the systems 100 more times before they where called upon, and there certainly wasn't any problems, leaving the station in the hands of the ensign again, he left the bridge. "Computer locate Ensign Marina Garret" he said, finding the information he required he made his way to the primary lounge. Arriving, he scanned the room for the ensign, he felt a little bit out of place being in his uniform, but having spotted her, he took a deep breath and made his way over to the bar where she was sat. John was a little shocked, she looked striking in her attire, she was most certainly an attractive women. "So Ensign, how may I be of service" he spoke, smiling some what, trying to to let his body language give away his actual thoughts.

OOC: JP between Marina Garrett and John Roberts.
Marina spotted him as soon as he walked into the room and felt a surge of triumph. He hadn’t wasted much time, and of course in her mind, that could only mean one thing. She pretended not to notice of course, becoming fascinated with the starscape, knowing he was approaching her. There was a bit of a lengthy pause, which she also took as a very good sign, before she heard his voice behind her. "So Ensign, how may I be of service?"
“Oh!” she exclaimed, turning around to face him and feigning being startled. “Hello! I had no idea you’d respond to my message so quickly and in person!” Marina exclaimed, flashing a brilliant smile in his direction. “It’s so nice of you. I hope I’m not keeping you from anything. If I’d known you would be here, I probably would have worn something else...” she added, forcing a bit of a blush as she vaguely indicated her attire, just in case he hadn’t already noticed, which she was fairly certain he had. “Um...if you’re still on duty, I apologize, but if not, uh, would you like something to drink maybe?” she asked, acting a little bit flustered.
"I must admit, I feel a bit out of it being in my uniform, but I'm still on duty, well, sort of. I'm not officially on duty, but since we are in the middle of this mission, I still consider myself on duty, so it's just going to be a fruit juice for me" he chuckled slightly, trying not to make it obvious he was checking her out.
"As for being busy, I was just checking over the tactical systems, you know to give me something to do, this will be a welcome break from work, work, work. So what are these questions?" He smiled, he had already figured it out that wasn't reason she had asked him to come down. The setting, her being out of uniform, if it was just a few questions it most likely would have been done when she was on duty, still he wasn't bothered, as he said, he required a distraction, and a chance to relax.
She had his attention. Now she just had to keep it and somehow shift from work to other, more interesting topics without being too obvious about it. Luckily, she considered herself a pro at this. “It seems kind of silly now... I suppose I should have just asked my questions in message form rather than dragging you all the way down here...but since you’re here, I suppose I might as well give you a reason for being here,” she began, continuing to act flustered, to sell that this wasn’t a planned ambush, which it was. “I was just wondering if there was some sort of system in place for those who wished to expand their abilities or learn something more. I’m a security officer, although I do have some tactical training, but I would be interested in continuing to train in tactical and improving in that area. I think it’s important to always be working to become better rather than just standing still, wouldn’t you agree?” Marina asked taking a sip from her drink, face completely serious now. She did mean what she said, in spite of it being a part of the plan to get his attention. “I didn’t know if that was something you had already arranged…training exercises and so forth.”
"There are quite a few exercises for that on the holodeck, Ensign. That’s quite standard through Starfleet. But, with this being a Prometheus class vessel, we do have the MVAM, which is something I myself could do with a refresher on, so once we have this whole Penance thing cleared up, then feel free to join me sometime."
That confirmed what he had thought, her wanting to meet had nothing to do with work, yet, ordinarily he would frown upon developing any personal relationships with his security staff, he didn't seem to want to end it there and head back to the bridge. If this was just because he needed to relax a little, John didn't know, but he may as well go with the flow now he was here.
“I’ll certainly take you up on that,” she replied, with a smile. Extra training with the Chief and having a drink with him, not bad for a day’s work... “I run through the usual holodeck exercises, but I find that interaction with other officers who have more experience helps increase their effectiveness. We went through a whole bunch of Chiefs on the Jefferson, so I didn’t really get a chance to have someone who I could reliably look up to and seek out to help should I need it. I figured this time would be different. I’m already impressed with your level of organization, and you don’t seem like the type to just leave like the others, so I decided to ensure that you were fully aware of my desire to learn from the beginning.”
The more she talked, the more she began to actually shift her thinking into what she was saying rather than her initial intention. It would be nice to get some additional training and experience. The fact that it came from her really hot superior was certainly a bonus, but training with her new Chief was probably a very good opportunity, one she wouldn’t miss. “So, how long have you been aboard the El Salvador?” Marina asked, also not wanting to miss the opportunity to get to know a little more about him. She may have discovered a new goal, but her original objective wasn’t lost either. “You clearly know what you’re doing.”
"Very true, it does no harm to have other officers around during the sessions" He smiled politely. She was doing reasonably well at covering up her intentions. "I have been on the El Salvador for roughly 3 years, then I had a year away from Starfleet, and returned a few months ago here after the 12 months away." He told her, surprisingly he was reasonably relaxed, and not his usual shut off self. He took a seat next to Marina, and began looking around the room a little bit, "So what about you, how long have you been out of the academy?" he asked, genuinely interested, he certainly wouldn't mind knowing more about this particular security officer, maybe sometimes distancing himself from everyone else, and maintaining professional relationships wasn't the best idea. He missed having a good friend aboard, now that wld had gone, he didn't really have many that he could consider friends here.
“I graduated two years ago,” Marina replied, feeling a tiny surge of adrenaline as he took a seat. She had his attention, and he appeared interested. This was going very well. “I’ve actually been working security since I was a teen. I started as a loss prevention detective at a local shopping center, then a degree in Criminal Justice, followed by a local security academy. I was a local security officer in a few different places for a couple years before I transferred to Seattle. That’s when I decided to take a few courses at Starfleet Academy, learned I could graduate in eighteen months with my previous experience and education, and decided to go for it,” she explained taking another sip of her drink. “How about you? When did you decide that this was what you wanted to do?” Ensign Garrett questioned.
"I can't really remember why I wanted to get into Starfleet. I was always that kid in school that just about got the grades, always distracted, getting into fights, I guess that’s why I chose the tactical side of it," he chuckled a little bit. "The biggest problem I find is getting over my prejudice of Romulans..." he looked away, remembering when he had first learnt of his parents’ deaths at the hands of a Romulan Commander who just wanted to spill blood to satisfy his ego, "but let’s not go there," he added a moment later. He began to shut off, as he had done previously, normally ruining the relationship or any chance a new relationship may form. He sighed a little. After shutting the door on a large chunk of his own past, he couldn't exactly start asking about hers.
There was a slight awkward tension in the air, maybe just because John was replaying old memories in his head over and over again, or if that had been enough to push Marina away. It was hard to tell.
Nodding, Marina understood. She knew he had said not to go there, but considering the look on his face and the awkward pause afterwards, she decided to take a chance. “My grandparents were killed by Romulans when my dad was just a kid. He never really got over it, and the hatred and bitterness colored his entire life, and my childhood in a way. I understand how hard it is to let go of something that affects you so deeply. I try not to let his feelings change mine, but it’s hard, especially since my only personal encounter with Romulans ended up with me in sickbay,” she added. “I try to think that there are probably some descent Romulans in existence. I sure haven’t met any, but they might be out there somewhere and would probably be horribly offended if they knew they were talked about so badly behind their backs,” the security officer teased, trying to lighten the mood a bit.
"No doubt, there’s good and bad in every race, even the Romulans" He paused, "I met one, well, she came aboard just before I left for those 12 months, and went just as I arrived." He stopped, taking a breath, it felt good in a way to talk, "She seemed a good person, though I never really had chance to get to know her well enough to make a judgment about her personality, but she was a very capable officer despite her blindness." He smiled again, "Your right though, it can be hard to let go, and it can be even harder if you can’t do that to not let it cloud your judgment" he stopped himself again, before he started to really open up, "Still, what’s done is done"
John finally ordered himself a drink, as soon as he got his hands on it, he took a large sip. He did feel a little strange, talking to someone so new in his life, so openly, but still couldn't help himself being somewhat closed off still.
“The past is in the past, even though it does affect the present. The trick is to look to the future,” Marina replied with a smile. It almost felt a bit like a tug of war. He would start to relax a little, then pull back. It was something she understood all too well. She did exactly the same thing, though she often put on such an open front most couldn’t tell. “But the first step in dealing with it is to acknowledge what you’re feeling and that it has the potential to affect your judgment. Otherwise, you’re just fooling yourself, and it will, but as long as you’re aware of the potential, that can go a long way towards preventing it.” Decided that it would do them both good to veer from that topic, Marina glanced down at her drink. “I’m sorry... I asked for your help, and instead I bring up something you’d probably rather not talk about... I can be the most awkward person sometimes. Seriously, sometimes you just have to tell me to shut up. Can’t promise that it’ll work, but it is at least worth at try!”
Maybe TBC...

She nodded slowly as Clarke spoke, unfortunately it was a past she shared with too many others. Jackson gave a small smile as she replied. “Thank you Ensign I..”
She was cut off when someone pointed to the front of the shuttle and said. “There it is.” Turning her head to look a the station now coming into view she took a deep breath. “looks like it has seen better days.” In truth it looked like it had seen better decades.. What appeared to be weapons scars dotted across the station. No doubt from battle fought and won long ago.
She took another deep breath as she said. “Commander Tavik.. bring us in to this docking port.” She pointed at the schematics of the station indicating the docking port in question. The information from Savot said it sees many ships come and go and their presence wouldn’t raise any eyebrows.
She turned and raised her hand. “Okay people we are coming in now.. Commander Garrett you and your team will head directly for the command and control section of the station.”
“The good Doctor and I will be heading for the market areas… once Commander Garretts team had gained what they need they will head back and meet up with me and the Doctor.. are we all clear?”
<Tag Any>
“Excellent.” The shuttle touched down with a dull thud and any doubts or fears about what they had to do was instantly erased in her mind the time for those had passed.
Quickly going through a mental checklist to see if everything had been accounted for she nodded slightly as she pressed the console that opened the shuttlecraft.
Looking to Mirror Savot she gave an uneasy nod. “Your used to working alone I can tell.. Remember this these are my people no unnecessary risks and check with me before doing anything.” She stepped closer and added quietly. “Do anything that endangers them.. and I’ll see to it the Vulcan Resistance has no one to pay for the this little job of ours.”
She looked to Commander Garrett and said. “Commander, stick together I don’t want any unnecessary risks taken and if you need too check with me first… move out.”
She watched as they began to file out and she gave them each a nod, it was Garrett, Tavik, Clarke and one security officer who’s name Jackson couldn’t for the life of her place.
Smiling to Clarke as she walked past she whispered. “You’ll do fine Ensign.. I know you will.”
<Tag Garretts team – You have free reign from here, Have Fun Which team Mirror Savot went with will be left ambiguous for now and Savot can decide that when he returns>
Looking back at Nathan and their own security officer assigned to watch their backs she said. “Give me a second..”
One security officer had been assigned to stay in the shuttle and she looked at him and said. “Once we are gone lock it up.. no one gets in but us… and keep a transporter lock on everybody it gets hairy pull em’ out.”
Exhaling heavily she nodded to Nathan and the Security officer and said. “Lets go we have medical supplies to trade.”
They stepped off the shuttle and Jackson couldn’t help but be left confused at how such a station could still be up and running.. Boxes were left stacked hazardously high outside of cargo ships.. the equipment being used looked like it belonged in a museum never mind in active service.
They followed the behind another group of traders that looked like they knew exactly where to go and Stacey leaned in toward Nathan and whispered. “We will need to find a trader that looks as if he deals in medical supplies already.. hopefully there is some intelligent structure to the market district of the station.”

== MU Space station ==
The good doctor. Sometimes, to Nathan, it sounded as a belittlement, as if he were always good, and never out of line or whatnot. Quietly, he rolled his eyes to that sentiment, obviously knowing better. Despite his best efforts, he'd known his fair share of trouble. However, going with on an away mission was always excitement, oftem more than was medically good for him.
Almost unconsciously, his fingers folded tightly around the hypospray he kept in his pocket. He had taken precautions insofar his severe hayfever was concerned but he couldn't take inaprovaline in advance, that was too dangerous. Plus he couldn't risk using it before he actually might need it, even though he was pleased to note that he hadn't needed any in a while now. Still, it was good to have it with him just in case, it worked to ease his mind in any case.
Hands jammed in his pockets, putting on a fairly bored expression, Nathan walked with Stacey. Undercover operations weren't his thing, but if something medical was involved, he was still in his element. To a degree. He still had his argument with Jayden about being careful fresh in his mind, and he had promised he would be. So, despite looking bored he managed to take in his surroundings with the eagerness of a child.
Being a doctor, he knew what to look for and on occasion he nudged Jackson and covertly nodded in a certain direction. At once, his eyes fell on what only could be a shipment of medical supplies. Casually, he pulled Jackson aside as if portraying a romantic interest. <i>Look over my shoulder</i> he warned her as he shifted her slightly without unnecessarily touching her <i>medical supplies, medications mostly from the look of it</i>
Little did they know that their presence had been noticed. Sergeant Major Jayden Mitchell had followed them, covertly so and would soon be reporting to his superiors. Mistress Garrett's prize slave was seen cohorting with someone else and though a touch of jealousy shot through him, Mitchell kept his distance. It wouldn't do to report just yet, but this was certainly strange. Mitchell was happily married, insofar a happy marriage went, but he couldn't deny having feelings for Garrett's Human slave doctor. What was the man doing out here anyway, dressed as fancy as he was in comparison to his usual -lack of- attire?
Jayden could never be sure, because he knew Garrett sometimes sent both of them away on missions. Certainly, he wasn't a slave but he was in her employ, to a degree. Telepaths were always highly prized and always in demand, and Jayden sold his services to the highest bidder.
Feeling watched, Nathan turned and just caught a glimpse of someone familiar, before the person darted away. "Odd," he murmured, "I thought I saw my husband..."

=== USS El-Salvador ===
Yarna was so lost. The little girl had wandered the ship in search for her parents, and now only realised that they had left without her. All she had wanted to do, was look at their quarters a last time, she hadn't meant to get caught up in playing with what few friends she had on the warship.
No-one knew where her parents were, and once she'd wandered into sickbay to look for her father, a kindly nurse had told her that Lieutenant Hope had been transferred.
The 6-year old half-Romulan half-Human child felt so lost, and scared. There was only one place she knew she would be safe. Without thought she took the turbolift to the bridge, knowing full well she wasn't even supposed to go there, and stepped off. The bridge was a flurry of activity, and no-one even seemed to notice her presence.
To her disappointment, the person she'd been looking for wasn't here, so she went where she'd first met him: his readyroom. As before, because it had felt safe, she scampered under his desk and curled up there, rocking herself softly to calm her whirling thoughts. Soon enough, she softly cried herself to sleep.

[MU Station Lambda 4]
Mirror Savot wore an almost bored expression as Commander Jackson ran through her warnings regarding him endangering her people, though he did give her credit for her principles. All too often people claimed to stand for things that they were all too quick to toss out the airlock if upholding them would put them at personal risk. This human woman clearly knew the assassin was capable of killing her should he so choose but that danger did not lessen the importance she placed on the safety of the team she was leading and so she had gained some of his respect at least not that that would matter to her in the slightest.
He gave a slight bow of his head in acknowledgement of her message and without actually stating which team he'd be following he stuck with Jackson and the doctor. As always the decision had its basis in multiple layers of logic. First, anymore than the 3 officers who'd gone to the C&C hub to hack the system would attract too much attention; second, if they were captured he would still have the chance to board the cargo ship itself to get the temporal shield frequencies; and finally, it was apparent that his Commodore reflection held a foolish concern for the wellbeing of his crew and the members of the hacking team were the newest and thereby their deaths would possibly have a less negative impact on the captain than that of his trusted First Officer.
Mirror Savot blended into the crowd not really intent on anyone or anything, but remaining close enough to lend support to Jackson and the doctor should they blunder into some situation or another. His vulcan senses picked up soft telepathic resonance coming from 2 or 3 chambers deeper in the station and knew what it must be. Many races experienced emotion differently or even not at all, and so they sought that experience. This station had a female alien whose vocal chords were actually entwined around the telepathic centers of his brain and as such she could project feelings over a short distance through any vocal means but this one chose song.
For a price, one could gain admittance to the chamber and listen to her 'concert' of sorts and have the full breadth of emotions wash over you. Though naturally it was well-sealed from the rest of the station since telepathic interference in business deals was a serious concern. Savot propped himself against a wall with his arms crossed keeping an unnoticed eye on his temporary allies as they tried to glean information. Getting directly involved himself would work against them since that would indicate he was here on 'business' and not just quietly passing through.
************************************************* [Ready Room: El Salvador]
Savot paused, zeroing in on the sounds of soft rhythmic breathing and soon discovered their origin in the young girl he'd forged a friendship with... in the exact place he'd first seen her as well. Emotions being the chaotic things they were he simultaneously experienced both contentment at seeing her and intense concern at her still being aboard when the ship was in dangerous territory and at extreme risk of facing total destruction during the mission.
Fortunately, it was for that very reason that Savot embraced the mental disciplines that he did and as such he was able to reign them in so they wouldn't be counterproductive. As he couldn't currently return the child to safety there was no reason to bombard her with his worry so he'd again project the calm support he had when Yarna had experienced her mother's grief over losing an away team member during the first mission they'd been among the crew.
The vulcan captain knelt quietly at the side of his desk and carefully scooped the child up to move her to the more comfortable surface of the couch to sleep on. A United Federation of Planets blanket was draped over the couch's back for decoration and he pulled that down over the girl to ensure she stayed warm. He didn't have much direct work to do before the assault on the Penance itself so he'd be able to look after the Hope child until then and again upon his return until he could get her back to her parents... which he silently vowed to do safe and sound.
