Pulled into what would appear to be a loving embrace, Jackson tried her best to appear ‘loving’ despite her being years out of practice. His voice entered her mind and directed her to medical supplies. She maintained the appearance that they were merely a couple wandering the market she cast her eyes where directed.
Stepping back a little she responded in kind. {Good work, once we get closer we can get to work on the salesman}
Resisting the urge to turn and look when Nathan mentioned seeing his husband Stacey merely sighed. {I had hoped you wouldn’t notice he has been following us for the last few minutes.. he definitely is a native of this universe though, He protects his mind fairly well but I can still sense he is interested in you rather than me}
She directed her full senses to the man following them and immediately found out that in this universe Nathan was a slave of sorts.. and his being with another woman was confusing the man. { I am really sorry for this I will explain later } she warned through thought.
Adopting now a rather angry look, She raised her hand and gave Nathan a rather painful looking slap across the face. It would have looked far worse than it felt. “Report to your mistress that I will not do what you ask!” she bellowed loud enough for Jayden to hear she hoped that would confuse him long enough.. so they could be long gone before he worked anything out.
Now directing her attention to Mirror Savot she hoped that he wasn’t blocking off his mind and that her message would get through. { Savot!.. We have caught someone’s attention.. he ran off but keep your eyes open for the mirror double of the Marine you met in the War room.. he seems to be very interested in Doctor Van Breughel }
She took a deep breath and said. “He has ran off, I don’t think we will have seen the last of him or whoever this ‘mistress’ he works for.. I couldn’t dig deep enough to get the name… lets just do what we came her to do.”
She now looked to the security escort and said. “What’s your name son? I am sorry to say I can’t remember?”

“Commander, stick together. I don’t want any unnecessary risks taken and if you need to check with me first, do so... Move out,” Commander Jackson ordered, and Megan merely nodded, heading away from the shuttle followed by Tavik, Clarke, and one of the security officers who had yet to identify himself by name, at least that she had heard or seen yet.
Once the group was outside the shuttle bay, she headed for a section of corridor that wasn’t occupied and turned to address them. “Alright, we’re going to be heading straight for Command and Control. I think it is best that we’re split up, so we don’t draw as much attention as a group of four at least on our way there. Tavik and Clarke, you’ll follow at a short distance, and you’re with me, Lieutenant...?” Megan asked, taking this opportunity.

“Right, thank you, you’re with me. Now we’ll be posing as couples just wandering around, so look around all you want and talk quietly amongst yourselves, but don’t look too intent on any one thing. We’re just going for a casual stroll, and there’s no need to be affectionate unless someone is showing suspicion, but make sure that we stay within visual range in case either of us requires any assistance. Once we arrive at the access point, we’ll find a location still within sight of each other and the check point. We will observe for a while, before meeting up and determining the best course of action. Lieutenant, you will remain outside the checkpoint to look for signs of trouble, Commander, you’ll enter with us but stay a short distance away for the same reason. Ensign, you and I will attempt to gain the information we need and get out as quickly as possible. Are there any questions?”

Setting a far more sedate pace than she really wanted to take, Megan set out across the station heading for their ultimate destination. She had to constantly remind herself to slow down, as Commander Garrett wasn’t exactly accustomed to strolling, but that was their cover, so that’s what she had to do. Besides, it did give her a chance to really look around instead of glancing surreptitiously as she rushed through. It reminded her of some of the seedier, backwater stations in their own universe, but there were some differences. Even in some of the worst parts of their universe, there was usually some attempt to conceal some of the less savory activities, but here, it was more open, like no one cared if anyone knew what they were doing so long as they didn’t try to interfere. It was very...unsettling.
It was somewhat maddening, their cover. Megan continued to remind herself to slow down, sometimes to a near crawl to pay attention to things that really didn’t matter but gave the appearance of browsing. Occasionally, she’d turn her head far enough to catch a glimpse of Valad and Sarah in her peripheral vision, just to make sure they were still with them. So far, the two seemed to be keeping up just fine, not that they were going fast anyway. There were so many people moving about the station, some just wandering like they were and others were clearly on business, moving with the more purposeful strides of a person going somewhere. It was almost tempting to switch up their cover, but considering they were heading to Control and Command rather than the areas of a business, it was best to continuing giving the impression they were. She just hoped getting there would at least go smoothly, because it was anyone’s guess what they would find once they got there...

Valad parked the shuttle in one of the general docking ports of the station. As he looked about this area of the station, he saw how similar the mirror universe version of everything was so similar, yet seemed so strange. He had always expected the mirror universe to be some dark, eerie galaxy with an abundance of evil, but it wasn't that way...per se. He wouldn't call it EVIL anyway. As the small team exited the shuttle, Valad followed calmly behind Commander Garrett. He remembered a mission way back when he partook in a mission similar to this infiltration sort of thing, though ironically, the "evil" place resided in their own universe. Following Garrett to a relatively uninhabited section of corridor, he quietly said, "since picking this particular spot doesn't attract attention..." He looked at Commander Garrett, saying, "Sorry..." She seemed to ignore him, though he was sure he was going to get an earful later. “Alright, we’re going to be heading straight for Command and Control. I think it is best that we’re split up, so we don’t draw as much attention as a group of four at least on our way there. Tavik and Clarke, you’ll follow at a short distance, and you’re with me, Lieutenant...?”(Roberts NPC) Commander Garrett proceeded with the next part of the mini-briefing. "Are there any questions?"Valad looked up, as if on cue. "Yeah, actually. If I find something I like, can I purchase it?" The question was only partially a joke. (Garrett) As Garrett and the security officer left first, Valad waited several moments before donning a deep southern accent, holding his arm out to Clarke like a gentlemen, and saying, "Care for a stroll, Ma'am?" (Clarke, sure hope Sarah falls for the gentleman ) As the two slowly walked along the main section of the station, the scenery around them was shockingly familiar. They saw many vendors selling a variety of products, anywhere from hats to pets to weapons. Passing one particular sabre vendor, one of the blades caught Valad's eye. "Sarah, come check this out." As she came over, Valad pointed out the particular blade in question. "This is a retractable sword. I didn't think they still made these." The vendor came up to the two. "You like this, huh? I'll give it to you for a small price of five bars of Latinum." Valad raised an eyebrow. "What are you trying to sell the station? One." "Four," countered the vendor. "Two." "Three, and that is my final offer." Valad thought for a moment. Obviously he had no Latinum, but he planned on purchasing that blade. "I'll tell you what. You see this shirt I have under my jacket? The finest of Plutoid silk. A very rare item. It's worth more than half of your entire stock." The vendor was skeptical, but was eyeing Valad's boots. Noticing this, he said, "You like these do ya? Ok. How about this? These boots for that retractable sword and those pair of shoes." He pointed to a pair of shoes that resembled tennis shoes, but were obviously not of any Terran design. The vendor thought for a moment. "Deal." The trace was made and Valad walked off a much happier man. He looked at Sarah and said, "Who says you need money to buy something?" As they walked on, trying to stay within sight of Commander Garrett, Valad asked Sarah, "See anything interesting?" (Clarke, will backpost if necessary) As they wandered around a bit more, Valad took a quick glance over to Garrett, who was discreetly watching them. They continued on, step by step. (Tag All)

Sarah heard the game plan, the problem was getting inside, once inside she was certain they wouldn't have too many problems. As for the part about walking behind the other two that didn't make sense, but then it did she noticed that the girls had been paired off with the guys. The Bajoran wasn't much into this idea, but then again it had to work because if they didn't succeed then the Captain would have a great many problems.
As Garrett and the security officer left first, Valad waited several moments before donning a deep southern accent, holding his arm out to Clarke like a gentlemen, and saying, "Care for a stroll, Ma'am?"
Sarah wrapped her arm around his feeling the warmth eminating from Valad she would smile. As they walked along she continued to pretend that everything was alright. Somehow she was uncomfortable everything about this made her nervous she could feel her heartbeat pounding against the inside of her chest. She managed to hide the shaky feeling she had as he made a statement about buying something. They walked over to where he was pointing at, and she would listen to the two barter for a moment. She continued to listen watching Megan out of the corner of her eye pretending to have her attention at one place and actually watching the others in the distance.
As they walked on, trying to stay within sight of Commander Garrett, Valad asked Sarah, "See anything interesting?"
For once Sarah actually looked towards the vendors wondering if there was in fact anything she found interesting. In all reality there wasn't anything, but she wanted to keep the act up the best she could, and she would point towards one of the little stands, while whispering, "Not really...How much further?" She asked.

“Lieutenant Keith Morgan Ma’am.” He said as he looked to Commander Garrett who had just asked his name. She seemed a lot more focused and goal oriented than Commander Jackson, which he kind of liked. He was thankful he wasn’t with Jackson, he didn’t trust the ability of a Doctor and a Counsellor to handle themselves all that well should things go pear shaped.
He followed the lead of the three senior officers and without looking like he was paying any attention at all he watched the surroundings like a hawk looking for any sign of danger to befall them.
He noticed a small group of people whispering and pointing at them, at Garrett in particular and he walked closer behind her and said almost silently. “Commander, to out direct left there is a group of people looking very interested in you.”

“My name is Steven David’s Ma’am I am new to the ship.” He said with a smile.. although he was slightly unnerved by the fact she had just struck the Doctor.. were she on the ship he would be duty bound to arrest her but he had faith she didn’t just do it because she felt like it.
She told him to keep his eyes peeled and he nodded and replied. “They all ways are Ma’am.”
Jackson patted him on the shoulder and smiled as she said. “That’s what I like to hear.” She leaned in and said. “If anything happens keep the Doctor safe.. I think he is in more danger here than I” She leaned back out and looked to the doctor who was rather nervous of her presence.
She frowned slightly and said. “I’m sorry if I hurt you Doctor.. I really didn’t mean too.. but I felt it was the only way to confuse the man watching you, I don’t make a habit of hitting people.” She shook her head slightly and added, “I can have to security escort take you to Commander Garrets team if you like.. I can finish up here on my own with Mister Savot.” The offer was genuine it may have been a little more dangerous for herself but at least the doctor would be safer with Garrets team, it did have more people and there was safety with numbers

Stunned, Nathan blinked furiously, his cheek burning right where she'd slapped him. Tears were forming in his eyes and he fought them but failed. His eyes were wide in shock as he mutely stared at her. He fought the urge to bolt and remained where he was stood, slowly bringing his hand up to his cheek.
His eyes darted about, seeking for the man he loved, wondering why Jayden had followed him. Then his eyes went back to Jackson, wondering why she had struck him without reason, saying what she had said. Had he done something wrong? He shook his head in confusion, slowly realising that they were probably being watched. "Yes ma'am," he finally whispered, taking on a slightly submissive stance without much effort. Now, he wished he knew what his mirror self was like.
In silence, he listened to the exchange between the security officer and the first officer, also aware of the fact that the mirror verson of his commanding officer wasn't far off. Even though he was Human himself, Nathan had little trouble reading the emotions of a Vulcan, in fact he prided himself on being fairly knowledgeable in that area, having grown up with a Vulcan. Plus, he knew how to shield himself against even strong telepaths, also an advantage of having a Vulcan sibling who just loved to use him as guinea pig to practice her mental prowess on.
He started when he was suddenly addressed again, pulled from his thoughts abruptly.
<color=white]“I’m sorry if I hurt you Doctor.. I really didn’t mean to.. but I felt it was the only way to confuse the man watching you, I don’t make a habit of hitting people.” She shook her head slightly and added, “I can have two officers security escort take you to Commander Garrets team if you like.. I can finish up here on my own with Mister Savot.” </color>
Her apology seemed genuine, he could see that much so he simply inclined his head, accepting it as it was given. "I still don't understand why Jayden followed us," he confessed, though a resolve took hold of him then and there. He was tired of needing protection, of being sent there where it was safe. His eyes flashed briefly, even as his body straightened a little, chin lifted ever so slightly in anger. "I was assigned to your team ma'am," he replied stiffly, eyes shifting to where Savot was stood in the shadows, before shifting back to Jackson. 'I'm not going anywhere. However if you strike me again, whether in ruse or not, I will report it. I don't take kindly to abuse, from anyone." Not only didn't he take kindly to it, he knew that any possible response might put them in danger. "If I see Jayden again, I'll just tell him to go back to the ship. If he has orders to follow, then that's that."

"Yeah, actually, if I find something I like, can I purchase it?" Valad asked her rather jovially.
For a moment, Megan was thrown off, not accustomed to joking and light hearted banter during a serious mission. Not only that, but in spite of the tone, she couldn’t figure out if it was a joke or not. “Let’s stay focused on the mission,” she replied, hoping he would get the point and stay more focused on why they were actually here in the first place and less on the things that were going on around them that had no bearing on the task up ahead.
With that, Megan nodded to Lieutenant Morgan to walk beside her and headed off in the direction of their objective. So far, it seemed like he and Ensign Clarke were taking this seriously at least, and she hoped that Tavik had just been kidding and was focusing on what he needed to be. As they walked, Commander Garrett didn’t really feel the need to hold onto Keith’s arm or act like a couple, but she pretended to be perusing the carts and wares they passed while moving at a quick enough pace not to be wasting too much time.
After making some progress, Megan saw Valad and Sarah stop out of the corner of her eye. “Hold up,” she murmured in Lieutenant Morgan’s direction, as she stopped to examine some art work. It gave her the perfect angle to pretend to look at the canvasses and keep an eye on Tavik. ‘What is he doing?’ Commander Garrett wondered as she watched him speaking with the vendor, then as he took off his shoes and handed them over, she understood…he was actually trading for something. She honesty didn’t care what it was. As far as she was concerned, this was unacceptable, as she doubted anything that would help the mission would be sold at a stand. Unfortunately, now wasn’t the time to deal with him, but they would most definitely be having a conversation once they returned to the ship.
“No, that color doesn’t really match the walls after all,” Megan announced as the vender moved to speak to them. “Let’s keep moving.” Fortunately, as the disappointed salesmen moved off, Valad seemed to complete his transaction and move to follow them once again.
‘That’d better be his last purchase...’ Megan complained to herself as they began moving again. The Science Chief was pretty furious with Valad, but it wouldn’t do them any good for her to be distracted now, so she tried to put it behind her, calm down, and refocus on the task at hand. After a few minutes, Lieutenant Morgan spoke from directly behind her. “Commander, to our direct left there is a group of people looking very interested in you.”
Continuing to move forward and then gradually slowing her pace and showing interest in something to the right, Megan got into position to look in the direction the security officer had indicated and indeed located the group. There were four of them, and unfortunately, they were definitely looking at her, why she had no idea. Running through her behavior up until this point, Commander Garrett couldn’t think of anything she had done to warrant their attention. “That’s pretty,” she commented somewhat absentmindedly in the direction of a necklace, while carefully attempting to commit the faces of the four men to memory. “But I don’t really need it,” she added, laughing lightly as she left the stand. Once they were far enough away, she reached out to grab the Lieutenant’s hand and murmured in his ear, “We’ll keep an eye on them. If they continue to show interest in me, I may have to separate from the rest of you to avoid compromising the mission and pull their attention.”
<Tag Keith>
Not knowing if Sarah and Valad had noticed, since they were carefully staying back and separated from them, Megan wished she had passed out her low profile communications devices, but she didn’t want to start bringing any outside tech into this if possible, first, for her own sake, since she just got here, and second, for the Mirror Universe aspect, because she couldn’t risk that tech falling into the wrong hands. So sadly, there was no way for her to communicate with the second half of their team, but in spite of Commander Jackson’s warning not to go off on her own, she wouldn’t hesitate to distance herself from them if she was attracting attention that would put the mission at risk. What Commander Garrett would do then, she didn’t know yet, but hopefully, it wouldn’t come to that, and this was just some random occurrence. It was too difficult to tell at this point whether she was merely being watched or being followed. Watched wasn’t great but easily fixable by continuing on, but followed was a whole other problem, and that’s when she would have to change the plan.
As she and Lieutenant Morgan proceeded towards the central hub of the station, Megan couldn’t exactly look for the people who had been interested in her, since as the source of their focus, it would be more obvious, so she would have to rely on the security officer, who to his credit had noticed the group first. It was nerve-wracking, not knowing whether she would be able to go with the original plan or not. Commander Garrett knew she could get the codes without question. Clarke she felt probably had the ability, just not the experience. Valad had the ability and more experience than Clarke, but actually doing something like this under time pressure and in this situation was very different. Things could go wrong so quickly, and you had to stay cool, think fast, and still manage to complete your task, and that wasn’t something you could prepare for. If you’d never done it before, it was hit or miss, and for either Tavik or Clarke, it was more of a gamble, and gambles were far from ideal.
As they arrived at the access point, things immediately became more complicated. There was a corridor that extended from the shopping area to the command center, and although a few venders had decided to set up shop here, they were more spread out which made blending in a whole lot more difficult. The closest stand was some sort of beverage and food station. Made sense selling to personnel getting off duty or on break, but that was at least a small opening. Standing a little ways back from the vender, Megan could pretend to peruse the menu while still getting a fairly good view of the access point. There were four guards in total, one on either side and two in the middle. Those passing through seemed to have some kind of identification information on datapadds that were scanned as each person passed through. Also, most seemed to be wearing some sort of standard uniform, basic and boring but still identifiable. Not insurmountable, but certainly not easy either…
As Valad and Sarah arrived as well, Megan pretended to scratch her nose while shaking her head, indicating that they should keep their distance, and glanced up at Keith. “I can’t decide. I don’t even know for sure if I’m hungry,” she said aloud, quickly adding in a much quieter voice, “Am I still being watched?” hoping that the answer would be a no.

She raised her eyebrows ever so slightly. “Now isn’t the time for idle threats Doctor.. keep your mind on our objective.. and remember your voice can be heard.” Taking a deep breath Jackson turned to look at the small stall with medical supplies.
When suddenly something washed over her, it was like a voice calling from a great distance. It was strange yet oddly familiar, something she had heard before but not in a long time.
She turned around and her face turned one of slight shock and confusion. Now her shoulders squared and she turned her head to look at Nathan and with a tone full of conviction and authority she said. “Doctor go meet up with Garret’s team.. take the Security Escort with you… I will send mirror Savot behind you.” She squinted her eyes slightly and replied. “And don’t think about arguing.. I will have you beamed to the shuttle craft if you do.”
<Tag Nathan won’t assume so choose between willingly or transport>
Looking to Mirror Savot who was leaning against a wall looking completely bored and almost tired Jackson stepped closer to him and said. “Savot please follow the Doctor and the Lieutenant to Commander Garretts team.. tell her that I order Comm. Silence.. if I am not back at the shuttle in two hours they are to leave.” She gave him the message as she had no doubt he would follow through on such a request the Doctor would by nature protest as would the Security escort.. but she knew if she wasn’t back at the shuttle in two hours she wouldn’t be alive.

The doctor's eyes flashed furiously. "That wasn't an idle threat," he scowled, stuffing his hands in the pockets of his pants, for lack of having a coat to stuff them in. He sneezed once when someone walked by carrying a pot containing massive flowers.
“Doctor go meet up with Garret’s team.. take the Security Escort with you… I will send mirror Savot behind you.” She squinted her eyes slightly and replied. “And don’t think about arguing.. I will have you beamed to the shuttle craft if you do.”
"Beam me to Garrett instead then," Nathan replied, crossing his arms over his chest, glaring at her, "because I will argue with you. It's dangerous for you to go off on your own, you should take security with you even if you don't want me along." He drew in a deep breath, still having the feeling of being watched. "You could've alerted me otherwise than slapping me, that was uncalled for, not to mention demeaning. While I realise this universe is different that doesn't give you the right to treat me differently."
He paused. "As medical officer, I strongly advise you against going off on your own. It's dangerous and reckless, and so far you hadn't struck me as reckless, but now...I might just change my opinion to reck-" He felt himself getting dissolved in a transporter beam.
"-less and stupid," he finished his rant, then blinked when he found himself no longer facing Stacey Jackson. He took a staggering step, then composed himself as the security officer rematerialised beside him. Grinding his teeth in frustration, he glanced around. "Well...that went well. Jackson's gone off on her own. Savot is following here shortly, he'll come on foot."

[MU Outpost Lambda 4: Jackson's team]
Mirror Savot had been content to remain unobtrusive, merely intending to act as backup should something go wrong with the Starfleet crew... though that seemed more and more to be a question of when something when wrong as opposed to if. Suddenly the Doctor appeared confused and Jackson became alarmed before smacking the Doctor as part of an impromptu ruse of sorts.
She then threw a telepathic explanation towards Savot, who left himself open enough to receive it and send back a sense of acknowledgement in reply. Again the concept of fate seemed to try and force itself upon the non-believer vulcan, as it defied numerous laws of statistical probability that a duplicate of someone from any specific vessel would actually be present at the same place and time in this Mirror Universe as they called it. Still, coincidence or not it needed to be dealt with and Savot's first instinct was to lose himself amongst the crowd and eliminate the Mirror Marine, but Jackson moved closer to ask him to escort the Doctor to the other team under Garrett.
The assassin then listened to the Doctor's protests and shook his head slightly in near-disbelief. It was a wonder that other universe hadn't managed to blow themselves to oblivion yet. The Doctor ended up being beamed to Garrett's location against his will, which made Savot internally wince since appearing out of nowhere near Garrett would certainly call attention to her team, but there was nothing to be done about it now. So he set off to rendezvous with the others while Jackson went off on her own...
*************************************************** [10 Minutes later]
Mirror Savot approached the general area of Garrett's team and noticed the small group watching her. He shook his head slightly again at how poorly this operation was going so far. But even as he approached, several security guards moved hurriedly away from the scene towards the cargo bays of the station.
The assassin had arranged for a convenient dispute between two freighter captains that had, unfortunately for them, resulted in them appearing to have killed each other over it. Mirror Savot then walked to examine something at a vendor close to Garrett so their backs were to each other but they were near enough to hear one another, "Your team needs to make its move soon; we have a brief moment where the security forces are spread thin but afterwards it'll be even tighter than before."
He then turned his head the other way to address the Doctor, "And that is not your mate that you saw human, it's whatever copy of him exists in this universe. One would think you'd be more capable of distinguishing your partner from his duplicate."

Letting out a deep sigh as both Nathan and Mirror Savot were now gone Stacey turned to look at the source of her ill feelings. Only to be greeted with a weapon pointed at her face. Nobody on the Station seemed to be fazed as if this was a common occurrence.
“Stacey Jackson.. Your supposed to be dead.” The man said stepping out of the shadows, although no shock was garnered out of seeing his face she already knew who it was.
“I feel fine.” She remarked as she shrugged, “I’m not who you think I am either.”
“I know who you are.. Betazoid!.. your little rebel movement is over.. it has been for some time… It ended with your death.. or it was supposed too… Start walking… your or those men you were with will.. vanish.” He said as he waved his weapon in the direction of the closest corridor.
Stacey took a deep breath as she started to walk. “Your making mistake.. whoever you work for won’t be pleased.”
She felt the weapon press against her shoulder blades and she winced slightly at the unnerving feeling. They walked for what seemed like an eternity with him pushing her in obscure directions.. no doubt paranoid about any of Jackson’s ‘agents’ following them.
They made it to a small room that looked like it was for empty supply storage, She turned to look at the man who’s face was familiar yet at the same time different she had never seen the man she knew make it to that age. One thing was for sure this version of James Smith obvuisly never got Engaged to this Universes Stacey Jackson.
***NPCs***
Turned to Commander Garrett he let out a deep breath, “They are still watching Ma’am.” He didn’t want to point them out but he hoped she could follow the subtle hints in his body language pointing them out.
He turned when he heard the familiar whine of a transporter beam, and frowned in shock the new Chief Medical Officer appeared. “Doctor?.. where is Commander Jackson?”
The answers soon came when they were joined by Mirror Savot, who both made subtle digs at the Starfleet crew and Nathan in particular. He let out a sigh as he though about how pear shaped things had turned out.
“We need get out of this area.. Commander Tavik can Ensign Clarke can hack the security mainframe.. We need to send these followers of ours on a little wild goose chase.”
*******
Turning to Commander Tavik he smiled slightly, “Ok sir, here is what I am thinking.. you and Ensign Clarke here make a break for the main security console.. I am more than willing to bet the other team is already making plans for a distraction.”
He turned to Ensign Clarke… “Are you ready Ma’am?” <Tag All>

“They are still watching, Ma’am,” Lieutenant Morgan replied, and although she couldn’t risk looking, she believed him and got a general idea of direction based on his indications.
“Alright, I need to pull attention away,” Megan replied, feeling frustrated and disappointed at this turn of events. But there was no other way, and she was not going to risk blowing their cover. “You are now in charge of overseeing this operation. The best way I can see is to...” Commander Garrett began before being cut off by the close proximity of Nathan’s arrival, completely unexpected and far too conspicuous given their current circumstances.
“Doctor...? Where is Commander Jackson?” Lieutenant Morgan asked, clearly stunned as well. Things were unraveling suddenly, uncontrollably, and far too quickly to contain. This was not the way Megan was accustomed to operating, and she didn’t like it one bit. Not only were things coming apart at the seams, but they had an audience to the collapse. Somehow, there just had to be a way for them to salvage what was left of this mission...
A plan of a sort was beginning to form. Megan had to leave and bring those watching her along, Morgan needed to stay behind and coordinate the retrieval of the codes by Valad and Clarke, and Nathan, she supposed, would have to come with her. Unfortunately, she had no idea how exactly the people watching her expected her to be acting, but it would be reasonable to assume her Mirror wasn’t exactly pleasant. However, before she could make an attempt to split up the groups, she spotted Savot casually approaching, but at least he was being a lot more subtle than transporting himself right into the middle of this.
"Your team needs to make its move soon; we have a brief moment where the security forces are spread thin, but afterwards it'll be even tighter than before," the Vulcan stated calmly, before adding, "And that is not your mate that you saw, Human. It's whatever copy of him exists in this universe. One would think you'd be more capable of distinguishing your partner from his duplicate,” he added, and it was all Megan could do to keep from rolling her eyes, as clearly, Savot didn’t know Nathan well enough to realize that informing him of that little fact would not help matters any. This just kept getting better and better...
“We need to get out of this area. Commander Tavik and Ensign Clarke can hack the security mainframe. We need to send these followers of ours on a little wild goose chase,” Morgan suggested, and now that, hopefully, everyone who was going to show up had, she decided to make a move and attempt to restore some kind of order to the situation by getting out of the area with Nathan and the second security officer, whose name she couldn’t recall, leaving Morgan, Valad, and Clarke to retrieve the codes. Mirror Savot could do whatever he chose. She didn’t really care, as long as he didn’t make things worse, although frankly, she didn’t really want to attempt to imagine just how this disaster could actually be worse.
“I don’t know what you think you are doing, but I don’t recall authorizing you to transport wherever you like and cause a scene. I can’t imagine anything could be important enough to warrant doing something so stupid,” Megan vented at Nathan, using her frustration at their current predicament to show and help sell it. “And you,” she continued, spinning to glare at Morgan, “are driving me crazy. This is supposed to be a little bit of shopping, just to relax, and you’re ruining it for me with your complaining. Why don’t you see if you can just try to make yourself useful for a change, stay out of my way, and buy me something to brighten my day so I don’t reconsider your worth. You and you, you’re coming with me.”
Storming off and expecting Nathan and the second security officer to follow her, Megan felt at least mostly confident that Morgan would remain behind, wait until he was sure that the group watching her had followed her, and then begin to organize an attempt to salvage the mission and direct Valad and Sarah in retrieving those codes. She hated leaving the failure or success in someone else’s hands, but there wasn’t really any other way out of it. As she passed Tavik and Clarke, she again shook her head subtly to indicate that they were not to follow her. She was grateful that they’d been able to piece together enough to avoid compromising themselves by avoiding her, but she didn’t know how much they were aware of as to what was going on. She would just have to hope they’d pull this off...
<Tag Morgan, Valad, and Sarah – Good Luck!>
Continuing the irritated act, Commander Garrett stormed past many of the stands they’d passed earlier. Only once they had moved a good distance away from the other group did she slow down, pretending to notice something interesting for sale by a vender who was helping a large group of customers and would leave them alone for a short period of time. “Ok, first of all, did that group all follow me out?” she asked, hoping that either the security officer or Mirror Savot, who had indeed ended up coming with them, had been watching.
<Tag Either>
“Good, second, what happened to Commander Jackson, and why did you all join up with me?” she asked, her eyes darting between the three, not really caring who answered as long as she could learn what was going on, because this certainly hadn’t been the plan.
<Tag Any>
Further frustrated by Commander Jackson’s sudden 180, Megan decided it was best to focus instead on what to do now. “Alright...I think our best option at this point is to find a large entertainment center, a bar or a club or something like that with lots of people. We might be able to find someone who has information we need there or at least lose these followers. I assume you know of a suitable location?” the Commander asked Mirror Savot.
<Tag Savot>
“Sounds good,” Garrett replied. “Let’s try and make the best of this and gain something that will be useful.” The vender had noticed them and was trying to find a way to remove himself from the larger group and speak with them, so Megan decided to leave it at that from now and moved away in the general direction Savot had indicated. Her mind was still fixated on Morgan, Valad, and Sarah and the retrieval of the codes, but she had to let that go, as there was nothing more she could do. Instead, she tried to get herself into character, whatever that may be, and prepare herself for working a bar scene and try to find someone who knew something they could use. She could only hope that her Mirror or anyone else’s wasn’t somewhere on this outpost. Otherwise, it’d get a whole lot worse.

Taking a good look around, Valad once again observed the scene of the station. It was still as bustling as it had been when the away team first boarded, but now, a new feeling hung in the air. His team, now joined by the doctor and a security officer, all showed signs of tension. Even Valad was uneasy, a very unusual sign. Those who seemed interested in Commander Garrett looked like they were scheming. Scheming what?
As Valad pondered his new thought, the security officer spoke. "We need to get out of this area...Commander Tavik and Ensign Clarke cab hack into the security mainframe. We need to send these followers of ours on a wild goose chase."
Valad chuckled as the most of the team went their separate ways. He, Morgan, and Sarah were now the main task masters. He chuckled, looking towards Morgan. "I'm sure glad you were think, because I sure as hell wasn't...." Valad looked over to Sarah and said, "Come on, let's roll."
As the three moved about the station, in an almost circular pattern towards their destination, the group reached a standstill. Ahead of them, blocking the only route to their target, was a pair of guards. "Morgan, any brilliant ideas?"
(Morgan)
As Morgan reached into his figurative bag of magic tricks, Valad and Sarah moved past the guards and into the central area. The target console was one floor above them. The two made their way, with Morgan coming along behind them. The group entered what appeared to be one of the control rooms. Valad found the console that would be needed to complete the task. With the coast clear, Valad led the other two to the console. Sarah stepped up. "Alright, work your magic..." Valad said to her smiling.
(Sarah....make it happen, quick!!)

Filth, that was the best he could describe the smell of the very air on the station. It seemed to permeate every room and corridor they had been in. Back on the El Salvador and every Federation starship or space station for that matter the air was constantly cleaned and kept to a standard to which the Starfleet personnel had become accustom. He shook his head slightly as he pushed the thought to the back of his mind, now wasn’t the time.
Garrett started to rant at Nathan demanding to know why he had transported anywhere without authorisation, A question no doubt meant for anybody currently eavesdropping rather than an actual question. As Garrett would have known as well as that Nathan would not have transported anywhere without Jackson’s approval and the fact that he himself had been in the middle of a rant during transport he guessed that the Doctor had in fact not known he was about to be transported anywhere.
Garrett now glared at him, starting to demand he buy her something to brighten her day. Morgan raised his eyebrow and bowed his head. “I shall endeavour to find something to your liking.” Was his only response to it anything more would have seemed forced.
He turned his gaze to Tavik who made a comment that for the most part Morgan missed, he merely nodded trying to indicate now wasn’t the time for idle chatter and he would be with them as quickly as he had determined Garret’s team was safe.
He watched them move off with as little interest as he could manage, before turning to Clark and Tavik. Commander Tavik spoke up first and asked if Morgan had any brilliant ideas.
For his part he didn’t seem in the slightest stressed or worried, he merely grinned slightly and said. “Always.”
“I think I saw some particularly vibrant shoes at one of the stalls we passed perhaps that would please Megan enough to calm her down.” He stated louder than his normal voice but not so loudly as to make it seem like he was trying to be heard over the noise of the station and its inhabitants.
Walking slowly toward their main objective Morgan took a deep breath and said quietly, “Fortunately or not Nathan’s little transport took the eyes of you two and placed them on Garrett and himself… I think you two should be able to make it to the mainframe.. just move quickly and don’t look backwards it’s a dead giveaway.”
Taking another deep breath he rubbed his forehead and said. “I will remain here and keep a watch for anyone following you, or security forces.. Lieutenant Stevens will be with you so you don’t need to worry to much just focus on doing what you need too.”
He looked at them both and added, “Don’t take any unnecessary risks.. Commanders Garrett and Jackson seem to be doing enough of that on their own no need to compound the problems.”
As Valad and Clark moved off Morgan looked down at a stall and pretended to be interested in a few trinkets while all the while keeping an eye on the door the two senior officers had just walked through.
***Commander Jackson***
As if the universes themselves had conspired to make life as difficult for Stacey as possible she was now stood metres away from the mirror double of the man she had lost so long ago.
Unfortunately, for her sanity and the pain deep down that she had moved past so long ago, this man could not be any more different in personality from the man she loved. He hadn’t bought her claims to be not be the Stacey Jackson he had once known himself, despite it being the truth he was so paranoid he assumed it some plot or an attempt at misdirection.
“Betazoids.” He spat as he held his weapon firmly pointed at her chest, “Can never be trusted, Masters at mind games and manipulation.. we should have wiped you all out when we had the chance.”
His words opened his thoughts, and Jackson raised her eyebrow as the sordid story of this mans past started to reveal itself. “You wanted to purge us from the galaxy.. your superiors thought you obsessed and unstable and exiled you didn’t they.. Despite killing Jackson, single-handed solving a big headache for them.”
He almost growled in annoyance, poking her in the chest with some force. “Stop trying to play with me, you didn’t die.. It was you wasn’t it you sabotaged me didn’t you.” He demanded voice getting louder and more irate.
“If that’s what you think then kill me already I have not the answers you want.. nor will any amount of threats get them for you.. I simply don’t have them.” She stated.
“If that’s the case….” He said as his arm moved up and the weapon pointed at her head.

To be told that Jayden wasn't Jayden was just incomprehensible to the civillian doctor. Certainly he knew his own husband well enough to know that the young marine was in fact capable, of what Nathan thought him to be doing? Especially given that Jayden had wanted to go to the station and now wasn't allowed to. And Nathan himself, while now enjoying a certain level of training, still was no Starfleet Officer.
That it might be a ruse, also with Megan shouting down on him, just didn't really occur to him. Stacey's slap still stung quite fiercely, and he really had to fight the urge not to cower before the chief of science. Therefor, Nathan simply stood there in stunned silence, glancing from officer to officer, finally casting the mirror Savot a fierce glare. "I know my husband," he stated firmly, though not convincingly so. "And that was my husband."
Sparing the Vulcan not another glance, he stalked after Megan. "You didn't need to dress me down like that," he told her, "I didn't deserve that kind of treatment, not even from you. Don't go shouting at me for something, when you don't know fully what happened. I didn't transport here myself, Jackson did." His voice was fairly hushed, but his anger was audible. "I may not be Starfleet, but I didn't deserve that. I'm doing the best I can, I didn't choose to be added to your team, I was supposed to be a merchant medic. I could do that and I was doing it well enough, until Jackson decided to go off on her own and add us to your team. So...suck it up and deal with it. Ma'am."

Sarah followed behind Valad without speaking they entered the control center and found their target. She didn't have Megan with them that would make things just that much more difficult. She took a very prolonged deep breath. The bajoran woman would clear her thoughts as they came to be next to the console Morgan had remained outside the control room.
"Alright, work your magic..."
She nodded smiling weakly, "I shall give it my best effort." She replied to him before turning her attention to the console. The buttons didn't seem all that confusing quietly she grabbed the small datapad that she had grabbed with her gear and connected it to the console. Quickly before anybody could detect it she moved her fingers faster then what appeared to be remotely normal. A couple presses made an error noise because she miskeyed. Other then that she managed to transfer three cargo ship codes and a freighter code into the datapad. She disconnected it and would turn towards Valad, "I have finished the-"
~Well, well I had heard that I was here doing something...I didn't realize that there was someone that looked just like me. I shall enjoy killing you!~ Mirror Sarah replied she drew a disruptor pistol and aimed it directly at both Sarah and Valad.
Sarah gasped quickly stashing the datapad without it being noticed she looked at the woman standing there her identical match. Sarah stepped forward eyeing the other, "I am not even going to ask who you are or where you came from." She replied under her breath sidestepping.
~Hold still...~ Mirror Sarah replied harshly with a great deal of force from behind her voice. She had slipped onto the base from her ship that was now orbiting the base. She followed them without being noticed and discovered where they went. ~I will-~
While her mirror was distracted she raised her arm and lashed out crashing her elbow into the other woman's skull, and watched her lose her balance and became knocked out. Sarah quickly grabbed her slowly leading her to the deck so to not make any loud noise that would reveal their location or the crime. She didn't have to draw her weapon she saw no point and at this point she feared that if she did the mirror would have shot her or worse Valad. She grabbed his wrist and jerked it, "C'mon." She replied roughly tugging him.

He perused the stalls wares as the two senior officers were off hacking the computer files, all the while he was keeping a close eye on the door they would eventually come out of. He began to think that this mission couldn’t have gone much worse if they tried.. Teams slit up, the First Officer off alone somewhere. He shook his head at the thought of explaining why that had happened should something bad happen to her.
Looking up Morgan saw the two senior officers running out toward him, Clark pulling Valad by the arm. It took a split second for his training to kick in and he rushed toward them.
Taking the rear as it would make sense that they were running from something he followed them a short distance until he figured they were far enough from whatever danger had them spooked.
He looked to them both and frowned. “Didn’t go so well I take it?”
<Tag Clark/Valad>
He shook his head as he sighed. “You should have stunned and tied her up Ensign.. now she can raise the alarm to our presence.. if she wakes up.” He said to Clark. Before holding out hi hand for the Padd she was holding.
“Is that the data we need?” Looking down at the Padd he raised hi eyebrow as he read.. “I’m not sure how to say this Ensign.. but this is the wrong information.. it is a fake.. probably planted in the system for just this occasion… you can tell by looking at the file directory.. that it is fake.”
<Tag Clark>
“We need to find another computer terminal and try again.. or this was all for nothing.. if we fail they will have to board a ship and the chances of people dying goes through the roof.” He stated flatly as he handed back the padd to Clark.
Looking to Valad he gave a short nod.. “Any brilliant ideas?”

The last few moments had gone by in a blur, perhaps due to Valad not paying attention, but he found himself quickly walking alongside Sarah, with Morgan just behind them. He had just witnessed the Sarah Clarke from the mirror universe attempt an attack on the group and quickly be disarmed by her normal universe counterpart. As they ran along, a chill went down Valad's spine. He felt that something was wrong. His thoughts immediately went out to the other teams that were roaming around the ship. Things were starting to get more and more complicated.
"Didn't go so well, I take it?" Morgan asked frowning.
"I thought it went smashingly," Valad joked in an entirely fake British accent. His voice now returning to normal, Valad said, "Sarah had a little run in with an old friend."
(Sarah)
Seeming to get all serious, and watching Valad try to explain a great elbow hit to the base of the skull, Morgan said, "You should have stunned her and tied her up, Ensign... now she can raise the alarm to our presence..." The officer took the padd from Sarah's hand. "This is the wrong information... its a fake... probably planted in the system for just this occasion... you can tell by looking at the file directory... it is a fake..."
(Sarah)
"We need to find another computer terminal and try again... or this was all for nothing..." The officer seemingly started to find all the negativity in the mission at once. "If we fail they will have to board a ship and the chances of people dying go through the roof."
Morgan looked at Valad and said, "Any brilliant ideas?"
Looking out to the main promenade that they had just reached, Valad thought for a split second and said, "Go to the other side of the central area. Shouldn't take you more than ten minutes to get there. I'll be along in a moment."
Not waiting for any protest, Valad went and got lost in the crowd.
Just minutes later, when he was sure Sarah and Morgan were far enough along, Valad put his quick-thought plan into action. He moved through to some of the exotic fruit vendors that were getting auctioned off. All I will say is that I would never bid on a piece of fruit. There were hundreds of people shouting and pushing. If you knew how to do it, pushing through the crowd was easy. The competing buyers and sellers trying to sneak money in and out, and throwing purchases out into the crowd. Two vendors bumped into one another and started shouting at each other, in an attempt to intimidate the other. It escalated, and they were rolling on the ground, fighting. Valad took the opportunity to use his new retracted blade to cut the old style carrying case that held a large amount of fruit. The fruit was dumped onto the floor and spread all around the immediate area. The crowd responded as if on cue, jumping towards the fruit in an attempt to take it without paying. It was a battle royale!
Valad took the opportunity to leave and went another way to the point of entry he had told Sarah and Morgan to go to. Minutes later he found them curiously looking at a nearby vendor. A group of about fifty security personnel passed them, obviously on their way to quell the small riot. Morgan and Sarah looked at Valad, who looked back at the security crew going the way he had just come from.
Looking back at them ginning, "Oops."

"I know my husband, and that was my husband," Nathan shot back, glaring in Savot’s direction, and immediately, Megan knew they were in serious trouble, but before she could attempt to speak to him, his attention turned to her. "You didn't need to dress me down like that. I didn't deserve that kind of treatment, not even from you. Don't go shouting at me for something when you don't know fully what happened. I didn't transport here myself, Jackson did. I may not be Starfleet, but I didn't deserve that. I'm doing the best I can. I didn't choose to be added to your team. I was supposed to be a merchant medic. I could do that and I was doing it well enough, until Jackson decided to go off on her own and add us to your team, so suck it up and deal with it...” he stated defiantly, belatedly adding, “...Ma’am.”
This was basically a complete and unmitigated disaster at this point... The civilian doctor was nowhere near on the same page, and there wasn’t time to get him up to speed and explain everything that was going on around him. Her frustration at the situation was only increasing, and although it would have fit perfectly into the persona she was imagining as her Mirror, yelling at him would only make things worse. So, she would have to take a far different approach. Sending Mirror Savot a look that would hopefully keep him quiet and inform him that she could and would handle this and taking a slow, deep, calming breath, Megan slowed somewhat to allow Nathan to come up beside her and met his gaze firmly.
“There is more going on here than you realize, Doctor. I know you hadn’t originally been slated to do more than pose as a medical merchant, but things are different now, and we have no choice but to adapt. I can’t begin to explain to you the complexities of what we’re trying to do. We don’t have the time, and this isn’t the place. I didn’t see the person who you believed to be Corporal Mitchell, but I can assure you that given where we are, you can’t assume he is the person you know. Look at the Commodore and his Mirror: they look the same and have many similarities, but they are not the same person. The only safe thing to do is to assume that he is from this universe unless it becomes undeniably clear that the opposite is true. I realize the Corporal is capable of sneaking aboard this station and is concerned for your safety, but I do not believe he would leave Freddy and Angel behind, nor risk his career to spy on you in this manner, so it is imperative that you don’t trust this person until from his behavior and what he says he is clearly Corporal Mitchell.”
The entire time she spoke, Megan continued moving, keeping her eyes moving around their surroundings, only occasionally meeting Nathan’s eyes, but now she paused at yet another stand and turned to look at him for longer than a moment. “As I said, I can’t really explain everything, and I know this situation isn’t something you’ve trained for or are used to dealing with, so I’m not going to ask you to figure it all out or expect you to understand everything. All I ask for you to do is to trust me. I’ll explain in detail when this is all over, but for right now, I just need you to follow me and trust me. Can you do that?” she asked.

Post by Savot on Sept 3, 2010 4:33:29 GMT
[MU Outpost Lambda 4]
The vulcan assassin began to believe he'd have been better off attempting the mission on his own now that he'd seen his 'reinforcements' in action. As per usual he had prepared to the utmost before even crossing over, as after he first met his double the Commodore, Mirror Savot had accessed Starfleet's database with regards to the U.S.S. El Salvador B and her senior officers. He hadn't had the time or the need to hack classified levels of encryption but basic bios he was able to attain for all of them.
Not only had that information been the basis for his inner debate as to whether to bother involving his counterpart's ship when the Vulcan Resistance first gave the assassin this mission to destroy the Penance, but he'd also taken the time to ensure that none of their Mirror Universe selves were anywhere near enough to be in the proximity of the mission area when things finally went into motion. Alas, the Federation fools somehow felt it appropriate not only to add new crew to a ship mere hours from crossing into a parallel dimension, but senior officers no less who would by definition have to be part of the plan.
Those individuals he'd had no time to take into account or check to see if their doubles were nearby and potential encounter risks. The First Officer had wandered off after striking and beaming away the civilian doctor, which while minutely amusing perhaps had done nothing to aid his ability to blend in. The doctor himself was a hopeless case far too ruled by simpering emotions, and the technical officers looked like really bad tourists.
Though he did credit the one named Tavik with making some minor purchases, which Savot noted the presence of when he'd caught up to the beamed-away Doctor and Garrett's group, as it lent some slight credibility to Tavik and Clarke's presence aboard the station. And Garrett, for her part, was quick on her proverbial feet anyway in attempting to salvage something of the nearly-botched mission to find the temporal shield frequencies of the cargo ship running supplies to Penance.
Savot wasted no time in falling in step behind Garrett as she departed, and answered her questions without looking directly at her as they moved through the corridors, "The group is indeed following your general course; you appear to have successfully diverted their attention."
He continued as she voiced her next question, "Your Doctor believed he saw, and was in turn seen by, an individual he believes to be his husband. At which point, your Commander Jackson relayed this data to me telepathically and for reasons unknown to me walked off into the crowd alone after forcibly transporting the arguing physician to your team's general location."
Apparently frustrated by Commander Jackson’s sudden 180, Garrett nonetheless managed to maintain the majority of her focus instead on what to do now, “Alright...I think our best option at this point is to find a large entertainment center, a bar or a club or something like that with lots of people. We might be able to find someone who has information we need there or at least lose these followers. I assume you know of a suitable location?”, she asked Mirror Savot.
He dipped his head in a manner that could easily have been mistaken for randomly glancing at some unsightly stain on the floor instead of the nod it actually was, and it was with the raising again of his head that he subtly indicated a direction with the point of his chin, "I believe the cargo ship docking ports are our most likely fallback point for the desired intel, as many ship captains flock there to attempt to sway last-minute cargo runs with clients whose previous arrangements have fallen through due to their intended ship being delayed, impounded, or destroyed outright. As I understand it, the situation is somewhat parallel to 'ticket scalpers'. If nothing else we should be able to examine the list of declared cargo and determine which specific freighter we're looking for. Given the time-differential each and every cargo ship to the Penance carries the chemical components for producing Ketracel White to keep their Jem'Hadar troops in tow."
Mirror Savot had picked up on the abrupt attitude and even posture alterations Garrett had starting putting in place just prior to separating from the rest of her team... and he knew what the intent was behind their implementation. As such, when she took the doctor aside not unkindly to reassure him, Savot kept himself innocently interposed between the pair and the following guards' line-of-sight since that act definitely wouldn't jive with the dossier of the woman they thought they were following.
After the doctor's response they started moving again and the assassin returned to within low earshot of Garrett, "I would advise against the ruse you're enacting but as it is too late to abort simply listen carefully. The woman you're portraying is a creature of appetite, self-assuredness, and chaos. Your irritation thus far was acceptable but you would be well served to appear less so by the moment, as though whatever had angered you was almost an afterthought now, relegated to unimportance by some new thought or whim. This should be simple enough to convey at a distance for the benefit of your viewers, but I don't suggest attempting to extend the performance up close."

“The past is in the past, even though it does affect the present. The trick is to look to the future,” Marina replied with a smile. It almost felt a bit like a tug of war. He would start to relax a little, then pull back. It was something she understood all too well. She did exactly the same thing, though she often put on such an open front most couldn’t tell. “But the first step in dealing with it is to acknowledge what you’re feeling and that it has the potential to affect your judgment. Otherwise, you’re just fooling yourself, and it will, but as long as you’re aware of the potential, that can go a long way towards preventing it.” Decided that it would do them both good to veer from that topic, Marina glanced down at her drink. “I’m sorry... I asked for your help, and instead I bring up something you’d probably rather not talk about... I can be the most awkward person sometimes. Seriously, sometimes you just have to tell me to shut up. Can’t promise that it’ll work, but it is at least worth at try!”
John laughed, "I'll bare that in mind", then taking a quick glance around the room, he added "I suppose really it is something I should talk about but never have, never really wanted to remember what happened, sort of just avoided it instead of dealt with it."
<Marina>
The bar was surprisingly busy, but then everybody needed some time to relax at one point or another. He could feel that in the atmosphere, no matter how much people wanted to relax, there was still that feeling of anxiety still there, not allowing them too. It was in situations like this, John was great with, he never tended to allow things to get to him much, well, not things that where out of his control, and besides the things that happened to his biological parents.

OOC: Partial JP between Megan and Nathan
"I trust you," Nathan replied gravely, though clearly still angry. "It's him I don't trust." He gestured towards the tall Vulcan.
“Let me worry about him,” Megan replied, “and everything else going on. All you have to do is trust me to decide what course of action is best and follow my lead on this, alright?”
Nathan nodded. "I will try," he promised. "You know I'll try." He looked around. "At least you know me, and know that I don't try to get in trouble." Now, he looked down, almost submissive. "Tell me what you want me to do."
Feeling a tiny bit bad at seeing his reserved side show up again, Megan tried to dismiss those feelings, knowing that this would work well to keep him out of trouble, maybe even keep him alive. “Just keep close to me. Play the part of my…assistant,” she suggested.
"Assistant," Nathan acknowledged with a small but nervous smile. "Why don't I quite like the sound of that?" Yet it felt safe enough.
Resisting a smile, Megan replied, “Don’t worry, I can get my own coffee. And you trust me, remember? At least I didn’t make you his assistant…” she teased, making sure to keep a straight face before moving off, expecting her brand new ‘assistant’ to follow behind her.
The doctor's mouth turned into a knife-thin slash, clearly not amused. Then he nodded and followed her, keeping a few paces distance.
Feeling somewhat reassured that Nathan’s likelihood of rushing off and doing something stupid had diminished, Megan continued in the direction Mirror Savot had indicated trying to solidify in her mind the role she was playing. Not knowing anything about her own Mirror self was certainly a disadvantage, but it didn’t alter the plan. She didn’t have to convince anyone she was the version of herself from this universe, just avoid convincing them that she wasn’t. Plus, her goal was to get information from whatever source they were able to locate, not go undercover as “Mirror Megan,” and getting information, she could handle.
As they walked, Commander Garrett could feel someone moving to stand slightly to the right and behind, either the doctor or Savot, and when they spoke, it confirmed the later. "I would advise against the ruse you're enacting but as it is too late to abort simply listen carefully. The woman you're portraying is a creature of appetite, self-assuredness, and chaos. Your irritation thus far was acceptable, but you would be well served to appear less so by the moment, as though whatever had angered you was almost an afterthought now, relegated to unimportance by some new thought or whim. This should be simple enough to convey at a distance for the benefit of your viewers, but I don't suggest attempting to extend the performance up close."
A variety of emotions and thoughts crossed her mind at this information. First a kind of morbid curiosity in regard to who her Mirror was, second, a flash of irritation that he had known her Mirror and yet hadn’t predicted that she might attract this amount of attention, and third, she soaked up every bit of information to incorporate into her mindset and act. Also, she noted the subtle yet present signs of disapproval in Savot’s words and tone. It was clear that the woman did not hold any favor with the Vulcan assassin. Not only that, he didn’t seem to think her capable of pulling the deception off, which was a bit insulting.
“Don’t think I can handle it?” Megan questioned, allowing a trace of amusement and a bit of flirtation to enter her voice while also testing out the self-assuredness he had spoken of and finding that it felt right for the feel she was beginning to get for her double. Megan may not have been like the person he was describing, but it sounded close enough to a lower-element undercover act that she’d trained for her to pull off at least to some degree. It was strange...the concept of playing another version of herself, but although she didn’t know the woman, somehow getting a feel for who she was supposed to be was coming to her fairly easily, and that was both professionally convenient and personally unnerving.
She couldn’t see the assassin’s face to gauge a reaction, not that one would have been obvious anyway, but Megan felt that the single sentence was enough to get her general point across. Besides, considering whatever his personal feelings were for her Mirror, it was probably best that she wasn’t too convincing, at least to him, so Commander Garrett dropped the act from her voice as she replied. “Your caution is noted, but I’m not entirely incapable of pulling off a persona different from my own, and as you stated, it may be too late to avoid. My focus is still on the uncovering information to aid in the actual mission, and I believe I can do that while maintaining an approach similar to the one you described without specifically trying to be her per se. Hopefully, I won’t need to convince anyone of my identity as her, but I’ll take it as it comes. Any additional information would be helpful, since apparently you know her, though not well enough to have predicted this possibility.”

"I'll bear that in mind,” Roberts replied, glancing around the room. Although he was clearly somewhat uncomfortable discussing it, he wasn’t entirely shutting down or leaving, which was a good sign. "I suppose really it is something I should talk about but never have, never really wanted to remember what happened, sort of just avoided it instead of dealt with it."
“Everyone has their own way of dealing with things,” Marina replied taking a long sip of her drink. “Some people need to talk about it before they have a grasp on how they feel or what to do next, but others...it just takes time. I find talking about it helps, either with a friend or an unbiased shrink, sometimes both, but that’s me. You might be different, but if you ever want to talk...I know you just met me, but I’d be happy to listen. I’m not a shrink so I don’t have fancy names for what you’re feeling or years of psychological training, but I can at least listen,” the Ensign offered, a smile on her face. “Or if you need a distraction I’m up for just about anything as far as off duty, have a drink, take your mind off it goes.”

As if stuck in the last few seconds Stacey stood looking down at the body of Mirror James Smith, her mind was oddly blank and no matter how much she tried she couldn’t remember exactly how it was he was dead and she was alive. She took a deep breath as her brain functions seem to return to her, a sharp pain shot through her arm. Looking down at her left shoulder she saw the blood, she could only gather from the size and shape of the wound that her shoulder had been grazed by a weapons shot.
Thankfully, the weapon seemed to have partially cauterized the wound that it had inflicted, as most people did when they were hurt and much to the chagrin of common sense she pushed down on the wound. The pain again shot through her arm. Breathing slowly she ripped some cloth from her undershirt and tied it around her shoulder and over her upper arm, in a primitive attempt to stop any continued bleeding.
Taking one final look down she winced, despite her brain knowing that wasn’t the man she had loved it didn’t make it any easier to handle seeing. Turning to face the opposite direction Stacey pulled out her tricorder and began to try to find the comm. signals of the other Starfleet crew.
She found them, and fortunately not too far away she studied the readings for a few moment trying to make sure a mental map was firmly entrenched in her mind before closing the tricorder and making sure it was in her pocket and out of sight.
Walking around the station with a badly bandaged arm would have raised flags were they on a Federation run one, fortunately for Jackson at the time however they were not and no one bothered to neither look twice nor offer any assistance. It seemed in this place only one person cared about you and that was you.
Finally making it to where her tricorder had placed the group she looked around, chiding herself for not taking into account they may have moved since she had checked. She took a deep breath looking around the crowded area which didn’t help matters much. Fortunately for her Mirror Savot was equally as tall as Commodore Savot and his could be spotted over the crowd. Moving through them seemed harder than normal, there was talk of a riot somewhere else, Jackson shrugged thinking it was probably a normal thing.
Walking up behind her officers and Mirror Savot she quietly made her way to the front of the group and walking slightly behind Garrett she whispered. “Report Commander?”

She made sure to have her hurt shoulder out of view to Nathan, as now really wasn’t the time nor place to have it checked out.
Nodding at the assessment of the situation she took a deep breath and exhaled heavily before saying. “We’ve been here much to long.. we have friends out there just ready to be detected by an over zealous ship.. I’ve got an ensign fresh out of the Academy with a Commander I don’t know.. doing who knows what.” She sighed heavily.
Taking another deep breath and now clearly annoyed rather than faking it for appearances sake. Turning to Van Breughel she quietly said.. “Once we have made it to this docking port.. I need you to look at my shoulder please, just stop bleeding no fancy work we don’t time.”
Looking to Mirror Savot she said. “Get us there quickly Mister Savot and let’s get this done I tire of this charade.”

Nathan studied the first officer, though also keeping an eye on the mirror version of his captain. Assassin though he may be, and on their side he might appear to be, Nathan didn't trust him. Even if he knew Vulcans well enough, he learned not to underestimate them. And the way he instructed Megan was almost laughable to him, obviously he didn't know Garrett well enough to know that she could pull off her part without much effort.
Quietly, he nodded to Jackson, while making no move to assist her however much he desired to do so. "Later," he told Jackson as he followed Garrett out, keeping to his part as her assistant, "when Garrett allows me to do so." For the most part, he ached to see to it that Jackson would be treated and while he never let personal feelings get in the way of professional behaviour, another part of him resented her treatment of him.
As he followed Garrett, from the corner of his eyes he spotted Jayden following them. Heart beating wildly in his chest, he made an effort to ignore him until the man literally approached. Nathan held his breath, fighting the urge to chew him out for following him without having orders to do so. And, on top of that, leaving their children unattended.
Jayden halted before the group, obviously studying them, before his eyes fell on Garrett, widening a little. Something about this group was off, yet something felt oddly familiar. His gaze shifted to Savot and involuntarily, he took a step back. He feared the assassin, and with reason.
Still holding his breath, Nathan took it all in, taking note of the fact that Jayden said nothing, and made no move towards him as he usually would've done. Of course, all of them had a part to play, and for all he knew Jayden too had been ordered to play a part. Before he truly knew what happened, chaos suddenly broke out and they had to duck for cover. Within seconds, Nathan too had pulled out his phaser, and though he still wasn't quite confident in it's use, he knew well enough how to defend himself with it.
Until a piercing scream reached him and in horror he watched as Jayden went down. Even more horrifying was the fact that it was quite likely that he'd shot down the man he loved. "Jayden!" Nathan launched himself from his hiding place, racing over to where the half-Betazoid had fallen, cradling him. "I'm so sorry..Jayden look at me, please. You'll be fine, I promise. I'll take care of you.."
Dark eyes settled on the Human doctor. "You care?" he asked, his words slurred with pain. "Why? I don't.." He coughed, his face a mask of agony. The dark eyes closed, the man's chest rising and then falling a final time, his face relaxing in death.
"Jayden!" Nathan almost screamed, cradling the corpse to him. "Why'd you follow me...why!" He almost choked on his tears, as he held on in firm belief that this was his husband. Nothing Garrett or even Savot had said meant anything to him. He had now seen the man up close, and he'd seen little difference. Only the confusion before his death dawned on him, but it still meant little. Yet.
Grief stricken, he looked up as he reached for his fallen phaser. Grim determination set in his eyes as he rose to his feet. "Someone will pay for this...tell me what to do, and I'll do it. Someone will pay."

“Everyone has their own way of dealing with things,” Marina replied taking a long sip of her drink. “Some people need to talk about it before they have a grasp on how they feel or what to do next, but others...it just takes time. "I'm more of the type to just keep things to my self, as you've seen, I have tried to divert many of the questions." He didn't really know what to talk about, but wanted to get off this topic as it was quickly reaching it's conclusion.
The past was something John had never felt comfortable with, he never really spoke about it with his adopted parents, and they never asked him, so it just got buried and suppressed. He was the type of person who never looked back, because he dare not out of shame of the person he once was, the amount of anger he had as a child, the amount of fights and abuse he gave to other students in school was unfair, and it certainly wasn't something John was proud of, but then again, who in the right frame of mind would be. At least he could admit to himself that what he did wasn't right, and at least he wasn't the same person today, and hopefully never will be again.
"I should really be getting back to the bridge to find out how the away team are getting on, but then I haven't been down here to long for anything too eventful to happen" John said with a grin on his face, "By now though I should imagine they will be on the station it's self." he added, I'll go and check in soon, at least finished my drink first!" he said, still smiling. Part of it was just him wanting to get away from a particularly awkward situation, the other half was that he really should still be on the bridge, even if there was little to actually be done.
